20 Best Hot Tub Leak Sealer (2023 Updated)

Once the surface is clean and dry just peel and stick. All leaks are gone. Only minor complaint is that when cut to even small strips they are not flexible.

I bought this patch to reinforce an epoxy patch that I had to make on a brand new hot tub that cracked. The manufacturer said it would take till MarchApril 2021 to get me a new hot tub so I used this to patch the cracked one till the replacement comes.

It did the job.

I bought this product to fix a hole in the watering system of my chicken coop. I had my son help to tap the holes for the nipples, and he was a little sideways on one. My choices were to cut the pipe that was already installed and glue in a coupler, or use the Spa Bond.

This product is over a 11/16 hole in the bottom of a gravity fed watering system, and it is working like a charm. I would say this is the James Bond of Spa Bonds.

My built-in sunken hot tub in a small custom-added redwood room stood unused for about 22 years. I thought it would be cheaper to fix it and use it for therapy than purchasing a therapeutic bath tub.

When I fired it up I found many problems including that it had three small leaks – all three were visible or made visible by disassembly of the outside spa pack. None of them could easily be fixed by patching – without really getting expensive.

I did some research and found “Fix A Leak”. Since my hot tub was only about 300 gallons, I thought I wouldn’t need the whole bottle at one time. So I treated in thirds – following the on-bottle directions.

The leaks slowed but didn’t stop. I think I ran the pump for a total of 10-12 hours the first time. Since there was some progress, I bought a second bottle. I put the whole bottle in at once following the directions and not changing water from the first treatment.

After running the pump another 10-15 hours, the leaks started to really close down. So I ran the pump another 10-15 hours and the leaks completely closed. I let the tub stand with the pump off for a few days, then started the pump, ran it, heated the tub, let it cool, heated it again, and finally satisfied myself that it wasn’t leaking anymore.

It wasn’t and it hasn’t forthe past week. I don’t know what it will do down the line, but it’s good now. The secret is keeping the active crystals in solution and keeping them circulating. I could see the leaks and when they stopped leaking, I could see the crystals coming through the leaks from the inside and drying when they hit the outside air – stopping the leak.

They also change color to a yellowish brown – this was a very small amount but I could see it happen. So the secret is to use a lot of “Fix A Leak” and let the pump run a long time. Keep the crystals in solution – you will see them settle to the bottom of the tub.

I used a broom to keep them stirred up and ran the air injector to really remix them in the water. Keeping running the pump It works. Then I emptied the tub, put the filters back in, refilled and heated.

Everything, as I said, is good so far.

hello i have a large vinyl liner in-ground pool leak lousing 1 inch of water a day. i tried this product instead of calling the pool guys. it started to work on day two of the repair only lousing 1/2 an inch but that only lasted a day and the leak continued.

still lousing an inch of water. if a had to do this over i would have used two bottles of fix a leak , maybe giving me a better shot at fixing this leak.

This product was used on an above ground pool with a vinyl liner that had been leaking slowly. After the first few days it did not seem to work. However, after a week the leaking has completely stopped.

Still working on it. I have a crack on the side of the pool. Peeble Crete Pool, still trying to see if its working. Have used 1 bottle so far and will wait and see. I really hope it solves the problem.

I have squirted it direct on the crack and put the rest in the filter box as directed. Waiting to see. 2nd report. I need to wait for a storm to fill the pool so I can use the 2nd bottle I purchased.

I need the pool full and I’m not going to fill it out of the tap. I have a divertor from the roof so it doesn’t take long to fill if we get some rain. Ever. At this stage I’m very pleased. Will let you know.

Our indoor spa developed a small leak from underneath. Our local spa specialist advised that to properly find and repair the leak would require draining the spa, raising it on blocks, partially refilling, running the pump, locating the leak, marking its position, draining the spa, turning it on its side, digging into the foam, hopefully finding an obvious crack or defect and repairing it.

Refoaming around the repair was optional. Of course, hoping the repair was successful and it was the only leak. While searching for the weight of the spa empty to determine how hard it would be to get up on blocks, I happened across this stop leak product with mainly glowing reviews.

Reading about the failures, I made the assumption that some leaks are just outside the effective realm of this products useful range. I was hoping our leak would be exactly what the product was intended for.

For the very reasonable cost of this product, I figured, what’s the harm. It works, I’ve saved a lot of work and the $60. an hour spa specialist repair rate. So, I ordered one bottle, understanding that should allow two or three treatments.

Wow, I think the bottle arrived within one or two days. I removed the filters, turned the pump on and poured 1/3 of the bottle into the area where the filters go. Ilet it run for several hours. It’s been almost a week now and no leak! Obviously, it’s too soon to know if this is a long term solution to our leak, but so far so good! For the price, even IF I need to retreat once or twice a year, that is better than the alternative.

I have leakage at the return line of my swimming pool and did the procedure once, it last for couple of weeks and the leak returned, did the same procedure twice and the leak returned again. Procedure: 1.

closed the return valve at the pump so the line separated from the pump. 2. closed all the return nozzle so the water is kept in the return line. 3. tied a flex hose with a bucket attached to it to one of the return nozzle.

4. elevated the bucket 5 feet high so the water in the bucket would pressure the closed return line. 5. filled the hose at the bucket with the product. 6. kept the bucket filled so the water and product would go through the leak for over 10 hours, the leak was not so bad and the bucket was almost empty after 10 hours but the hose was filled with water and the product remaining in it.

7. after 10 hours the leakage stopped and the water in the bucket didn’t lower. 8. left the set for another 24 hours. 9. started the return line and it was ok, 10. a week later the leakage returned.

I am trying to fix my glass window water leak during heavy rain. My glass window has 4 X 5 square panels (within the bigger windows) with aluminium strips separating each panel. In between the glass and the aluminium there is a rubber sealing which I think is the cause of the leak.

I could not figure out which panel is leaking. Hence thinking of sealing every panel. Each panel has rubber sealing running along with the glass and the aluminium. Hence the sealing needs to be done between glass and the rubber.

My windows is exposed to sun after midday. Do anyone know whether this spray might fix the water leak issue?.

Two roofers, three plumbers, an entire new carport and still the leak persisted. Thousands of dollars. Bought this three weeks ago, used it where the rain was leaking in, and it’s totally stopped the leak.

I can now walk out of my front door and not get wet!.

I was looking to seal my 12-foot aluminum boat on the seams and rivets where I had slow leaks. I sprayed this sealant on pretty abundantly, and I attempted to use masking tape about 1. 5 inches from the seam thinking I could tear it off after it dried to give the seal a more presentable look.

I let it dry overnight, but when I went to pull the tape off the next day, the sealant kept stretching and coming completely off in several areas (didn’t hold too well too the aluminum). Also, inside the boat, water soon started seeping under the coating as I started to use the boat.

I’d sprayed the sealant during the warm summer, so the drying process overnight was during warm temperature. Maybe this sealant might work better for lighter jobs on non-smooth surfaces, but it is not meant for the job I attempted on semi-smooth aluminum surface.

And don’t expect a neat appearance. While spraying, splatter tends to jump at least half a foot away from the intended target. I used a sheet of cardboard to block most of the splatter, but I realized that quite a bit of the spray ended up on the cardboard.

Curious if the “as seen on TV” Flex Seal actually performs better?.

I used this about a month ago to ‘seal’ the corners of a 304SS reservoir holding water where the seam/weld had separated a bit. I had first tried JB weld (the metal one), and it didn’t quite do the trick.

This stuff painted right over that, and the sealed the corners. One thick coat probably would have been good… but I came back 2 days later and did a second coat… then waited about 4 days to fill the reservoir.

1 month in and no issues. I think it worked. Hope this helps because basically couldn’t find anything on U Toob or internet where somebody did this same thing to coat the inside (only the seams) of a reservoir to make it water tight.

It’s about 10ft x 2 x 1 ft deep.

I have had a leaking roof near the seam between the roof and porch, and no matter what I’ve put on, it continues to leak. We actually need a new roof, but we can’t do that expense right now. I decided to try the Flex Seal on the portion that I thought was leaking.

I easily applied this with a brush and roller, but it is a thicker consistency than paint, so be aware of that difference. It seemed to dry pretty quickly, because when I checked on it a few hours later it was pretty firm.

It is like rubber so it really forms to the surface that you paint it on. I had a little left, so I also coated an old hammer handle and it seems to be adhered to it pretty good. We did get a small shower and it held up, but waiting until we get a heavy rain to see if indeed it holds at least for a year or so until we can afford a roof.

So far, I am impressed, and if it does hold up well, I am thinking about using it to paint my basement to make it moisture proof and then I can turn it into a game room at some point and not worry about mildew or mold smells.

When I went to buy brushes and a roller for this, the salesman at a large home improvement store had said that he used the product for everything and he highly recommended it. I can see lots of uses for this product, since it is flexible and easy to apply.

I’m usually wary of those “as seen on tv’ products, but I think this could be a winner. Pros: applies easily, flexible, not strong smelling, Cons: have to use mineral spirits to clean up, can dry quickly if you let the can open while working with it.

Had to re-cement the main drain in an indoor pool and after it was completed the water level was going down slightly over a few days. Poured Fix a Leak into the pool directly above the main drain without the pump running so the product fell directly into the drain.

Could see it slowly being drawn in through the grate. Leak stopped within 24 hours and a week later is still holding. Excellent product.

Had multiple leaks and tried everything to repair it. After using this product iam sold. I instantly saw this product work as I poured it in . Very impressed and highly recommend this product

Had a leak in our hot tub and the pipes are encased in foam insulation so we tried a bottle of Marlig Fix A Leak and voila! It no longer leaks. We followed the directions very carefully and then waited a couple of days to see if the water level would go down before using.

Now we are back to soaking in comfort and enjoying the tub again.

my intex pool was leaking pretty bad, we looked an looked for holes in the liner we found one in the bottom w, we patched it. so after filling the pool numerous times. it still leaked. we looked for days ,couldnt find the hole or holes.

we looked for a new liner,omg the price of that might as well buy a new pool. i came across this product and thought let me try it, before i spend hundreds of dollars. i put one bottle in , and when i put it in i poured it down the inside of the sides.

I have a hot tub that is fully foam filled beneath. Hot tub was leaking in multiple small areas. I could not locate even after jacking up tub and removing foam in area I suspected. Bought this and within the hour after use, ground was drying up where it had been leaking.

No water has been added in 3 days. I hope this is a long term repair!.

I used it on an inground pool return leak ( small small leak. ) so far it is not leaking and I used the leak repair about 2 weeks ago. I created a loop with the plumbing and bleed the pipe into a bucket of water circulating it very slow.

(For about an 1 hour) then just let set and repeated two more times. Likei said working so far would give 5 star if I had a larger time sample to go off of.

this is for a good deep clean of your spa. each time you are ready to empty and refill, first put a full bottle in (less for smaller tubs, more if you have a giant one, read the bottle) I like to take out the filters and let them do a good soak in filter clean while i do this.

pour it in, turn it on, let it run for 20. its going to probably foam up a lot the first time you use it. this is getting into each pipe and water line you cant see or get at. its attaching to the “biofilm” , which is a disgusting slime layer that is harboring all manner of icky stuff like what causes folliculitis.

chlorine alone can not kill off or clean out this film. when the spa stops, let it sit half hour or more if you feel its gotten out of hand, then run it again. now drain the spa, and wipe down the sides from time to time as the water lowers.

then get in there and sponge out the last bits of water here and there and take a wash cloth and scrub around jets and things. now the spa is ready to refill and add your start up chems again. its just two of us now so i just change the water seasonally.

but this keeps it so clean in between. trust me, this is worth the effort!.

Really great product. 1st usage: I Mixed up a 5 gallon bucket, cleaned 6 out of 8 perfectly. The last 2 were really in bad shape, and I don’t think anything could get them clean, so I replaced those.

Now have 8 beautifully clean filters to rotate (my tub takes 2 filters) until they get icky enough to repeat the process in the fall. Really a great product for those who have obtained multiple sets of filters over the years.

2nd usage notes: I find that 2 filters in. 5 gal bucket takes about 1/3 of this bottle. The 5 gallon bucket will soak clean all 4 PAIRS of filters my hot tub uses 2 at a time. The second time I used this, the filters are foamy, which tells me I need to use less product.

I will also pre-rinse my filters again before putting them in the tub to get rid of the foaming problem. Still love this, still highly recommend!.

I have an in-ground spa that was leaking about 1-1/2″ a day. I bought a 32 ounce bottle of Fix-a-Leak and read the instructions. They were confusing. It said to “adjust the bottom drain” but my drain does not “adjust.

” So, this is what I did: I removed the filter cartridge. Then I shut OFF/CLOSED my bottom drains so the Fix-a-Leak would not settle on the bottom. I had all the suction going into the skimmer. Then I poured 1/2 a bottle (16 ounces) directly into the skimmer.

My spa only leaked about 1/4″ before I added the Fix-a-Leak, then it stopped leaking entirely! It’s been running for a week now and hasn’t leaked at all. This stuff is amazing! I plan on emptying the water out entirely and cleaning the spa before using it again, as recommended.

And, of course, putting the filter cartridge back in. I still have 1/2 a bottle of Fix-a-Leak left that I can use in case it starts leaking again in the future. I would highly recommend this product.

It did not settle to the bottom while the water was circulating, although I did still brush the spa every couple hours during the day. I let it run for 48 hours initially before turning it off and letting it sit for several days to allow the Fix-a-Leak to set (as recommended by the Leak guy that I paid $300 to find the leak).

Yes I am an idiot, I’ll admit it, a complete idiot. I left water in the spa and winter comes and guess what? Who’d have thought it, but it froze. Yep a giant ice cube in my backyard. And as sure as day follows night, winter doth pass, and the ice age passes.

This is where the spa has made its own decision to drain. Due to the magic of properties of water, and its expansion when freezing, there were numerous cracks in the hoses under the spa. Spray sealant was used with no effect, as well as attempts with plumbers tape.

Finally forced to Google “spa leaks”, as well as You Tube, where I discover “Fix A Leak”. Excitedly I run to the local pool and spa show room and inquire about this product. I am told, ” they’ve never heard of it”.

Puzzled but undaunted I go to another shop, and am told the same thing. Now I reach out via the web and cell phone, (ah the marvels of modern technology) to every expanding search of Pool and Spa suppliers.

Alas to no avail. Finally it dawns on me, I realize that why would a small businessman sell a product that he may make a few pennies on, when he would much rather sell you an item for several thousand dollars and a much higher profit margin.

So off I go to “E-bay” and order “Fix A Leak”. Now according to the bottle I should be using approximately 1/2 the bottle at most, BUT because I am an idiot who doesn’t drain his spa, granted I was having many travails in my life at the time, but regardless I am to blame for several cracked hoses, and glad at that the fiberglass could have easily cracked as well.

Anyway I wound up using the entire bottle, and it worked as advertised, all leaks were sealed. It took awhile for all to seal, and I used a garden hose as a suction tube to remove the excess jiz drifting around the bottom, I think this also saved me from numerous cleaning of the filter that the video recommends.

All in all a remarkable product, I am eminently pleased, it worked as advertized and even if I have to buy a bottle of “Fix A Leak” every year, it’s better than spending thousands of dollars for a item I usually refer to as my “Bird Bath” as they use it more that I do.

I would recommend you watch and follow the video for best results.

I installed white PL Heavy Duty Sealant around a bathtub/shower base two years ago. The area was spotless clean, dry and treated with Mold Control before application. The material was easy to apply and form, had a pleasing appearance and held up well to the moist environment until a spot of mold appeared recently.

The spot proved impossible to clean away (standard bathroom cleaners, Mold Control, Acetone, Methylene etc) and within two weeks it had spread to a section of caulk over a foot long. Upon removal, cross sections at various locations of the discolored section seemed infiltrated by mold.

The product is rated mold resistant. I would expect more from a premium bathroom caulk.

Overall a great sealant. Works stiffer than silicone, just different. I used on exterior siding when it was colder out. The Loctite sealant can be used in cold weather, another benefit. I taped off joints for clean finish as I would with any sealant.

White color is bright white. I was sealing white siding so I didn’t have to paint it. Curious to see how it ages, but for now it’s a great all around sealant with many applications.

I’ve had this sealant for a week now and I’ve already used it on a few around-the-home tasks. It has worked great on all of them. I used it to put a tile back in place in the bathroom, I used it to put a piece of furniture back together, and I used it to reseal the seams of the bathtub.

It has worked great on all of those jobs. It is not messy like some other sealants I’ve used and it comes out of the tube easily. The odor isn’t overpowering either. I am very satisfied with this and will keep using it.

Texture is inconsistent. Every other inch, it comes out in little balls then becomes smooth. I thought the cut off angle was too small so I cut it and tried again many times. No end to this clumps. Had to remove all caulk and repeat process.

Caulk felt old and dried out. Numbers on crimp unuseful; does not state the date. Will not buy Dab again.

I have used this product dor several years and it always works. I used another stop leak product earlier this year and it did nothing. I will always use this product from now on.

This worked perfectly on my pool. I would highly recommend buying this product l in case something happens to it. It was very effective, affordable, and super easy.

Had a small leak behind the heat exchange going into the combustion chamber, lost about 0. 1 bar a day so was topping up every day or two. Since the boiler is old and the heat exchange itelf was most of the cost of a new boiler to replace, I figured that a new one was on the horizon.

While getting prices I remembered this product existed and thought for £20 it was worth a shot to simply slow the pressure drop down for now. Put it in via a towel radiator plus some inhibitor for good measure while I was there.

A day or so later the pressure had stopped dropping and there was no evidence of the leak anymore. I topped back up to just over 1 bar, and that’s where it’s been when I check each day for about a month now.

I know it’s not a long term fix, but I can at least put off buying a new boiler for a little longer thanks to this. If you’re in a similar situation and have a system that this product is compatible with, then I’d definitely say give this product a go!.

I was skeptical about this and had tried some Fernox external leak seal that just didn’t do the job. A radiator tail was weeping ever so slightly, perhaps one drop every few hours, but it would have been difficult to nip-up or bind with PTFE since it was soldered to a succession of end feed copper joints I didn’t fancy disturbing.

I used a syringe and some tubing to extract around 500ml from the same towel radiator that had the leak and squeezed this stuff in, which is not too easy as it’s as viscous as 100W oil! I ran the system for a few hours and the leak was still apparent.

However, within 48 hours it had dried up and not yet returned so this product gets 5 stars from me.

Like several other reviewers I bought this because our central heating was slowly losing pressure despite there being no visible leaks from pipes or radiators. I guessed therefore that there was a small under floor leak, but finding it would be tricky.

So, based on other reviews I took a punt on this stuff. I syphoned off some water out of the top of one of our towel rail radiators and poured the F4 in. Job done, somehow the leak has been sealed and the system is keeping its pressure.

Brilliant.

If you’ve never used black silicone RTV this may be hard to use at first it’s very inexpensive but offers the best way to seal oil pan gaskets or water pump gasket. BUT if you do it wrong it can be a very frustrating experience.

This brand is decent and works with most gasket applications but doesn’t offer the best quality.

Great adhesive and sealant at a reasonable price! I use this for securing electronic components in guitar amplifiers and sealing holes around wires in speaker enclosures. Strong but flexible hold, dries in less than 1 hour.

Good packaging, decent storage life and easy to apply spout. Forms a seal well, seems durable, easy to work with. Sticks well to most surfaces, chemically inactive to most surfaces, forms a smooth, tight gasket.

Seems to work okay, but super duper stinky. The fumes are so aggressive, they sting your eyes as you’re working. Definitely do what the bottle says and wear goggles (and gloves) while working, and air out the space afterwards.

I used this silicone seal in my bathroom and fill up a gap at the edge of my shower stall. It is easy to apply and instructions are easy to follow. I am happy with the end results. No more leaking afterwards.

It performs well and have slightly shorter curing time than others. I would definitely consider this item again next time I need a silicone sealant for my kitchen or bathroom. I was aware of this product before participating in this program but I have never bought it before.

We have a Jacuzzi, Laser hot tub which is known by folks in the business as a “Dinosaur”. As would be the nature of materials used to form it, over its 30 years of existence, things dry up & shrink. Water sealed joints and over-laps [particularly with the skimmers] begin to leak.

If fact, leakage was to such a point that I used 6 mill poly to form a pan underneath the tub which collected the water into a 5 gal bucket. This was after I tried varieties of construction adhesives &/or silicones to stop the 20 gallons of leaking, daily.

After about a year & 1/2, since I used the Boss 802, the tub still doesn’t leak anymore. I’ve kept the 6 mill pan w/ 5 gal bucket & check it whenever to find rain water. Before I calked, I made sure ALL the areas were thoroughly cleaned with rubbing alcohol as a rinse.

Allowing plenty of time to dry, I used the Boss 802, making sure the joints were filled. [no time to skimp!] I waited a full 5 days for curing before refilling the tub; to the top of the skimmers! Great Stuff! I’m purchasing more as I have found it very useful in several other types of applications.

Hot tub began loosing water rapidly. Discovered a leaky filter housing. Removed all the old silicone, cleaned well, applied the Boss 802. Let sit 24 hours since it is submerged in the water. Seems to have done the trick.

No issues since. Easy to work with and tool. Nice product.

I had leaks around my marine speakers and one air control valve, I removed all pieces and laid a bead around each hole. I was able to check for leaks within 10 plus minutes. worked great. prior I tried standard bath and kitchen caulk didn’t work.
