20 Best Hot Pot Sauce Mix (2023 Updated)

Let’s start at the beginning, Garlic and Peperoncini. I can see this as a true “Starter Sauce”. For me, it was far too sweet. But that being said, I didn’t have any other expectations from it once reading the ingredients.

I can see this sauce accompanying pizza slices, mac and cheese, maybe even dripped over a polish or brat. But not something I would want on a mild flavored item. This sauce plays better as the back up singer that it is.

Marks Barbados Sauce. This sauce was good. Not GREAT, but good. It doesn’t have a vinegary background, and really showcases the other ingredients. I can see this being GREAT as a flavor builder if you make your own BBQ sauce, or as you are making a pot of THREE ALARM CHILI, or on Ribs, or pulled pork.

I probably wouldn’t hesitate to even dollop a healthy portion of this on a piece of dry cheddar on a cracker just for a snack. Hellfire. This is my favorite sauce in the starter pack. The flavor is AMAZING! The tomatillos really stand out on first inspection! If you love a Vinegary sauce with a bit more heat this sauce is for you.

If you love a entry level sauce that actually gives you a bit of heat, this sauce is for you. If you love a UNIQUE but well rounded flavor profile, this sauce is for YOU! I can see this sauce being used on pretty much anything.

(well, maybe not cheesecake, but now that I said that, I might have to whip up a batch and give it try).

Hands down absolute fave out of the three is Hellfire, which also is sweet in flavor. Also really enjoy the peperoncini sauce, which is not strong in garlic as assumed. Lastly the Mack’s sauce I think is best for cooking or marinating.

Not a big fan of it for just dabbing.

I bought the entire S14 pack, but these are the three that I use the most. All are tasty, with enough heat but nothing crazy. The pepperoncini sauce I put on almost everything – saleds and veggies are so good.

It’s mild to me, has a tiny bit of kick but more sweet. Mark’s is great on grilled food and I use the Hellfire on eggs/veggies/anything that I want that heat on.

This was for my husband for Valentine’s day- I’m sure there’s a “spice things up” joke in there somewhere. He’s recently gotten really into hot sauce and this is perfect for taking that to the next level! That materials were quality and hard enough to get elsewhere that it was totally worth the price.

It comes nicely packaged and it’s easy to get started.

My boyfriend and I spent a cozy winter Sunday afternoon making these hot sauces. It was a beautiful day full of a few mishaps (because I am clumsy), brainstorming creative hot sauce names, and testing our teamwork skill.

Then we made tacos for dinner to taste test our product. All in all, I got a lot of bang for my buck. Bonus: we found another use for our coronavirus masks: protecting our nasal passages from some of the spice emitted while cooking! :).

As a long time lover of all kinds of hot peppery sauces, Slap Ya Mama is my absolute #1 favorite. It’s awesome flavor kicks ups every kind of food and is perfect with breakfast eggs no mater how they’re prepared.

Tasers miles better above most brands. Has a fresh and tangy taste. Great for air fried chicken. Have complaints on the new price.

The only sauce we buy anymore. Always have at least two bottles a both houses. Most of the time that is the only thing we are buying at Academy. We use all of their products. My granddaughter bought it for me for a joke, and we fell in love.

Japanese Curry Mix, Golden Curry, Medium Hot This is deliciousness in a box! However, you do need to put a little work in. Now I didn’t completely follow the directions on the box. First, I took 2lbs of chicken thighs, skin and bone in, seasoned with salt, pepper, and a little bit of sugar (this gives a nice carmalization to the skin).

Take a large sauce pot, add 3tbsp of oil to medium high heat. Add seasoned thighs and cook for 5 min on both sides. Remove and let rest. Add sliced onions, diced celery, and wedge cut rolled carrots, add large diced green peppers to pot and Sautee for 5-6min.

Splash vinegar (about 2-3tbsp) in pot to break up the brown bits at the bottom, add 2tbsp butter. Then add wedge cut potatoes and yams, season with 1tsp paprika, 1tsp ginger powder, 1/4tsp tumeric, lightly salt and pepper, toss all veggies, cover and cook for another 5 minutes.

While that is cooking, turn your attention to the chicken. Debone it and cut into bite-sized piece (don’t toss the bones, they have plenty of meat and lots of flavor). Add chicken, bones too, to the pot.

Toss everything and add 5 cups of water to the pot and bring to boil. Reduce heat, add 2 bricks of Golden Curry to the pot, cover and simmer for 20 minutes, stir occasionally. Add salt and pepper to your liking.

If it seems unbalanced, stir in a pinch of sugar. Serve over white rice or noodles. Makes about 10 to 12 servings.

Although this reads medium hot, we didn’t feel the heat. But. it really enhances the flavor. This package contains two packets. A normal size family needs just one but if your having family over, use both.

This is the best curry mix you can buy. It’s authentic and full of flavor. If you’ve never used it before, let me help you put. Cut some carrots up and start cooking them in a pan. Add cut up onions, and then your meat (I use steak cut up in small pieces), and then add green beans (I use canned).

Add a cup of water and cook, then add the curry mix, add a half cup of water. Mix the curry in the pan and simmer. Make rice, add a generous amount of spice curry to the water before boiling. ( You can take a piece of this curry mix and put it in the pot).

Add rice, cook ten minutes. Put the curry rice on the plate and add the curry mix. Holy cow. what a meal! This curry mix is just the best out there. When I lived in a Germany, we ordered this meal at a Restaurant.

This tastes just like what they served.

I’ve never really been someone who likes these types of hot sauces until my dad had me try this product. I was hooked from the first bite. He had me try this on a burrito and now I have to use this every time I eat one now.

Not only does this taste good on burritos but also on eggs, potatoes, tacos and you can add this to sauces or dressing. So many different uses that it’s too many to name. I also love the different sizes of bottles that are available.

So worth the price. Compare this to Tabasco sauce and you’ll love the difference.

This is my all time favorite hot sauce. It has the perfect balance of spice and flavor. I can handle pretty hot, but for me when things are too spicy it over-rides the flavor. But Cholula original is the perfect combination of spice, salt, sour, and flavor.

Love it on my tofu scramble! Five stars!.

The original Cholula sauce is by far my favorite. This one doesnt taste spicy just a little kick. I like using this when I dont want a lot of spice just a little kick but a lot of flavor I use this. Its on the cheap size so not bad and it last for a long time just depending on how you use it.

It’s got great flavor and taste to it so authentic. It taste like the hot sauce they use in Mexico which makes since, since its made in Mexico. When I’m looking for a little snack I like to eat chips with the Cholula sauce on them.

Excellent taste. A monounsaturated oil would be better than soybean but that is all that is offered. The heat is at the bottom of the jar so one needs to spoon it to the top. The shellfish is good. All in all a really good xo sauce.

After the second day of use the vibrate stopped working. Made note to the seller who contacted the manufacturer for me. Didnt get a real good answer on how to make it work. Seller offered a discount.

The unit is fine and it works well. Light compact accurate. Just no lock on vibrate. I can live with that.

Cautious at first as it’s not a condiment I have used before. It imparts a wonderful Asian touch to whatever you are cooking. Has some heat but not too much, really impressed Elizabeth

I love this sauce! It is perfect for stir fry and it has great flavours when you add just a little. It is readily available in Chinese supermarkets and sometimes also regular supermarkets as well (not always and it can be more expensive).

I definitely would recommend this sauce.

I am completely obsessed with this sauce! It’s so tasty and I can use it for just about anything, noodles, dumplings, stir fry you name it. The garlic is strong and so tasty, it’s on the pricier side for a jar but you won’t regret it.

I’ve emptied out too many jars.

This is the best chilli garlic paste which I add to all of my thai cooking – rice, noodles, soup – you name it it’ll make it taste amazing. Downside is the high sodium %

I usually get this from our local Asian store. Great for pizza, omelets, pasta and veggies. This is a good alternative to homemade Sriracha. This is sweeter than Huy Fong brand. I definitely recommend.

Anyone who likes Indian food knows one of its virtues is that curries can stand up to heat. Where extreme heat can overwhelm the other flavors in other foods, Indian curries are unique in the sense that you can order an extremely hot curry and still taste all of the other spices that went into the dish.

And that is why this sauce is genius. You taste the curry elements first and they really are present and assertive. They don’t merely hint at or suggest an Indian curry: this sauce tastes like curry.

The heat follows, and it’s a wallop of heat, too. I wouldn’t consider this an extreme stunt sauce but I wouldn’t hand it to your grandmother who likes a few drops of Tabasco on her eggs either. It was enough to make my nose run and eyes water.

So, in terms of Scovilles, this is likely to make serious chiliheads quite happy, but it’s also an “alternative” sauce in the respect that while vinegar is present, it plays second-fiddle to the curry spices and texture.

Love the sauce. very tasty and nice heat. But be careful opening it. I think the sauce must have fermented in the bottle. I won’t say that it exploded when I opened it, but it started to overflow instantly, like lava out of a volcano! I lost about a quarter of the bottle before I realized what was happening.

And it’s still ready to boil over. I just opened it a second time, and it sounded like I was opening a bottle of seltzer (after dropping it). It started to flow again, but I quickly capped it, and now I’ve labeled the bottle with a warning so I don’t trip over it again.

I don’t know if this is intended, or if I got a weird batch. I still recommend it. but it should come with a warning.

Well-balanced, and most importantly, not too salty. I am a vegetarian and my go-to meal for very good hot sauces is lo mein noodles with bok choy, peanuts, and scallions. The acidity in Howler Monkey is just right for light asian-themed dishes.

not as spicy as advertised! taste is awesome but i bought the da bomb ground zero, which is supposed to be more than the double of spicyness and it turns out to be not even half asspicy.

I saw Truff advertised on Facebook. I am so glad that I did! I love hot products and was pleased to see some spicy options. I ordered the Hot, White Hot & Hotter sauces on Amazon. I also ordered the Mayo and Spicy Mayo.

I was immediately impressed with all of them. My favorite is the Hotter sauce because the Hot is just not hot enough for me. However, my spouse prefers the Hot as he does not like much heat so it works out perfectly.

I was so impressed with the products, I made an online account with Truff and ordered “The Works” which includes all of their products. I don’t want to risk running out so this was the best option for us!! I also like that there is a rewards program which is another reason I am now ordering from Truff directly.

The aroma and taste of these Truffle products are like what you would find at a very high end steakhouse. It is a luxury that is worth the cost as it really elevates your food experience. It is also fun to let your friends taste test them!.

I have been following Truff on social media for years, well-before they released products other than their signature hot sauce. I’ve always wanted to try the sauce- even more so as new products released.

I did not have the money for such an expensive bottle of hot sauce, so I’ve avoided it for years. I found it on sale at a supermarket and figured now is my chance. It one of the BEST hot sauces I’ve ever tried.

I cannot wait to try the rest of the products and gift bottles to friends/family. The sauce has the perfect balance of heat & flavor and pairs well with nearly everything! I have about 10 different hot sauces in my fridge right now; I use each one for different foods/occasions.

This hot sauce can replace every single one of those. Do not hesitate to buy like I did; I could have been enjoying this for years. And yes, it is worth the price- you’ll see just like I did.

A friend at work told me about this sauce initially and I’m so glad they did. It’s my hands down new favorite. Consistency is great, like Valentina or Cholula brands. Heat is just right for me – it’s there but not over the top (like sriracha, Valentina, or Cholula).

The flavor is what really makes it. You can taste the truffle and dried chilies and it’s just really really good and unique. I’ve been making up dishes that are just an excuse to eat more of it. I liked it so much I immediately ordered several more bottles and also got little bottles to give all my friends for Christmas, the hotter sauce (good if you want hotter or less actual sauce on things), the white truff (good for gifting since it looks fancier), and the pasta sauce.

To me – the black Truff is still the best item though.

All three are delicious. Heartbeat will forever be my life time favorite hot sauce but the Dicks Hot Sauce is really good as well- put it on some grilled chicken and omg. The Oaklands is a wonderful sauce, sweeter then most, haven’t found the perfect pairing for it yet but definitely would buy again… might try it on some bbq chicken this weekend.

This is a great mix of heat levels. The Dirty Dick’s is the hottest but great to mix in just about everything, including chili. The heartbeat hot sauce is a family favorite and has been used for everything from breakfast to dinner.

The Oakland is perfect for my wife who stays away from anything hotter than a 3/10 on the Heatonist rating scale.

I feel like this curry is far superior to SB’s Golden Curry. While you can find Golden Curry in the international aisle of any Wal-Mart, why put yourself through the emotional burden of witnessing the hellscape that is Wal-Mart when you can simply have Tasty Curry the way God intended – purchased in a 6-pack off of Amazon in a not-at-all-regrettable fit of impulse buying.

Honestly S-tier curry. Pic attached is my botched curry attempt that was too watery but still delicious.

My preferred ** curry brand. Whilst I prefer their hottest strength, this is just about the right amount of heat for a family meal (unless you’re unfortunate enough to have a family member who weeps at even the vaguest hint of spiciness – in which case I feel for you!).

I really enjoyed this. I haven’t used packet cook in sauces for a long time. This was actually really tasty. Lamb can sometimes be quite chewy, bit like pork, if not cooked properly and I’m definitely not a chef.

I’m definitely a throw it all in a pan and put it in the oven and hope for the best. This left the meat tender. Really nice taste. I’ve definitely buy this again.

This is a game changer when it comes to adding flavour to your lamb dishes. I did make the lamb hotpot but it would be equally nice in a shepherd’s pie or maybe even a casserole. It gives off the most amazing aroma whilst cooking and tastes just as good.

It’s a definite winner from me.
