20 Best Hose For Drinking Water (2023 Updated)

This is the first time I have bought a 25′ 5/8 hose. I usually put a 12′ and a 4′ hose together because a 25′ is too long. However, this time I bought a 25′ because it is cheaper then getting a 12′ and 4.

‘ I do remember sometimes tasting a slight hose hose taste in the past, but now with this 25’ hose the chemical hose taste is extremely strong. I’ve gone out and disconnected the hose several times and left it hooked to the spigot to try to blow out the chemical taste with fresh water.

It does seem to help but not forever. The chemical taste returns. I went on line to some rv discussion sites and someone suggested it could be dirty and I needed to pour bleach in the hose and then rinse it out with fresh spigot water.

I emptied the hose and hooked it back to the spigot and took the hose up a ladder and poured bleach into the hose. I waited a few minutes and then turned on the water to clean the bleach out of the hose.

I then did it again and then hooked it up to the rv. I went into the rv turned on the water and ran until the bleach was cleared out. It has helped some, but I don’t know if it will last. My last hose was a camco heated 12′.

It did not taste bad. I might have to break down and pay a much higher price for another one, if the taste does get better in this 25′. I wish Camco made an unheated 12′ or 15′ foot hose.

I bought these to use with my camper that is parked on a permanent seasonal site. The hose is very well made and durable but it has one glaring shortcoming. If the hose is left attached with water in it and in direct sunlight, it will allow algae to grow in the hose.

After leaving the hose connected with water in it for a week, when we arrived for the following visit, the water that came through the system was the most exquisite emerald colour you ever saw. I know it wasn’t the trailer as my rig is brand new.

I have since started putting the hose away every time we leave now. Like I said the hose is well made and very durable and it serves us well when emptied and put away after each visit. This is just a warning for seasonal campers served by a well at your campground.

Next time, I’ll be buying the solid blue hoses that Camco sells as they do not allow light to pass through.

I am so happy with this hose because it solved the connection of my portable washmachine with my pull down modern faucet after two weeks looking for a connection so I could do my laundry. I connected the hose to my bathroom faucet and brought it all the way to the kitchen in order to connected with the portable washmachine about 40 feet long.

Sometimes we need to look for alternatives and invent the best way we can to resolve an issue. Finally I can do my laundry inside the apartment. I hope someday we can have a connectorfor those pull down modern faucets, until then a good hose like this one helps.

I keep buying this hose. I bought this 50ft hose and the 10ft hose also. I always buy these hoses. They last a long time. I like how they handle and they are big to let water come out with a lot of pressure and water.

Remember to buy a good nozzle with your hose. You can have a good hose like this but a cheap bad nozzle will ruin quality of spray. Like all hoses you can’t leave them out during the freezing weather unless you keep them well drained when they aren’t in active use.

That is true with almost all hoses. These hoses usually last me 2 to 3 years if I remember to keep them drained, which I do. Some have lasted longer than 4 years if I treat them right. The more you protect them from freezing with water in them the longer they last.

Also mine usually lay in the shade when not in use. Keeping blistering sun of your hoses keeps them lasting longer also. Remember that folks!.

Home Essentials Direct generously returned my money to me just now. 10/4/20. On 6/26/20 I purchased the 35′ length Camco hose. I wrote a glowing review. I have been gardening, doing all my own watering in my yard, for over 50 years.

I KNOW water hoses. Never in my life have I come across such a useless PIECE OF JUNK water hose. With this hose I never used any type of shut-off attachment or EVER folded the hose end to shut off the water (the way you see some idiot people stress their hoses).

I take the best of care of all my garden tools. Guess what? The hose kinked about two months ago. “Okay. I guess I can live with that,” I told myself. Then, a few evenings ago, I went to wind the hose back up onto its hanger and the thing was so darn stiff I thought, “I’ll wait until the hose heats up during the day and then it will wind up just fine.

” When I went out the next day to wind up the hose I found not one kink but more like EIGHT kinks! Oh for crying out loud! Never seen anything like it before. There was NO WAY the hose would go back on the hanger.

I couldn’t even use it to water anything because the darn hose kept kinking and rekinking. So disappointing, because it sure looks pretty.

Horrible horrible rubber taste!! We flushed this hose extensively and have even applied two filters with no luck at removing this horrible taste. We can not rinse our vegetables in it without them tasting bad.

Definitely cannot use for making coffee yuck! We have not changed anything other than the hose. Same excellent water source. Any suggestions on how to rid this toxic rubber taste? These hoses are not cheap but unusable.

I was hesitant to order this hose simply because Camco manufactures it! As a full-time RVer for many years, I am very well acquainted with the brand name Camco. Camco does sell some nice products for the RV crowd but, drinking water hoses are not one of them.

I was hoping that this one would prove to be an exception. It isn’t. Having run water through it as instructed, that horrible taste was still there. Flushed it three more times over six hours and the taste and smell were still there! I will now put this hose to use as just an ordinary garden hose and see if what others are saving holds true also.

As for using it with your RV, I would not recommend it.

I am very satisfied by the quality of this Camco EvoFlex drinking water hose. We have an RV and use it all the time. This hose does exactly as described. This hose is very flexible and durable. Because of flexibility, it’s not likely to kink or at least not as much as the stiff ones.

The metal fittings are a real plus. No leaks so far like the plastic ones. Both ends of the hose won’t drip at all. Our water taste clean and fresh which is what i wanted. There is no bad taste in my water and it keeps our drinking water safe for my family.

Definitely would recommend.

The reviews seemed mixed on this hose, but I must say that I am glad I took the chance on it! It is definitely stiff at first, but since using it for about a month, once a week, the hose has softened a bit and it’s not as hard to roll up.

It definitely doesn’t get kinked either. A neighbor accidentally drove over the yellow plastic connector, and it is only scraped. Not a single crack, it still connects to the other hose perfectly, even after a honda civic drove over it! I don’t drink the water from my holding tank (my rv is almost 50 years old and I just don’t trust drinking from the tank), so I can’t comment on taste of water, but it surely does the job for filling my tank.

Needed a longer water hose for the 5th wheel and decided to get this one. It’s just like the one I had for the older RV but longer. Depending on the site you are on, sometimes my 20-foot hose was stretched a bit long, so this one solves that problem.

I like that the end has a larger star connector which helps make for an easier and tighter seal. I add a water purifier inline on mine into the side of the RV and water taste just fine right out of the faucet.

One thing I recommend is to rinse the hose out before your first use just to make sure is clean, and when done attach the one end to the other to prevent any water left inside from leaking out into you camper storage area while in transit or storage.

Keeps bugs and debris out of it. I do wish it was a bit softer/ more flexible but again it’s made to last and I can’t fault it for that. I under any obligation to write this review. Maximum kink resistant? Based on what? Im sorry but I want to say it kinks just looking at it, but that wouldnt be fair. Fact is, it kinks totally shutting off flow. Brass fittings quickly begin to leak.

I finally cut the mail off and retrofitted with replacement. Hose material seems to be good quality. But honestly I will try a different one next time. If you need a cheap hose to use occasionally, this would probably be great for you.

I need one to use daily.

Seems like a good hose. I even like the funky wings to the female end. It’s makes it easier to get it really tight at the faucet end. The only thing is that the provides washer in that end didn’t make a good seal and it leaked pretty bad.

I replace the washer with another I had and it works fine now. No leaks. So for that it loses a star! Mildew really likes these type of hoses and I totally expect it to turn mildewy and nasty looking after awhile but they are the only ones I can find in the shorter lengths.

Wish they would put a mildew resistant chemical in when they manufacture these things!!.

I needed a short hose to DIY drip irrigation for a few tomato plants that I have right next to my hose bib. This was a perfect length, and a good price. I placed an end cap on, pierced a bunch of holes throughout the length of the hose, wound throughout my tomato plants, and covered in mulch.

Now I can turn the spigot on partially and leave on throughout the night to slowly give a good watering. Can’t attest for how it would hold up for it’s intended purpose, but works great for mine.

Upon receiving, appeared this 5/8 full flow (through both connectors), thick feel hose was what I was looking for. The plastic assist on the female connector is great. The metal material softness of the male connector is relatively easy to distress the threads on hard surfaces.

The hose material of this HPressure HD type RV hose appears a high quality match to it’s 10 year warranty claim on the packaging. Recently using in 90 degree temps, the hose material gets too pliable, kinks relatively easy, and after baking in the hot 90+ sun, gets weird to coil up for storage.

Hose tends to take a set in the heat, and may in the cold also? Hose still has a durable thick feel to it, regardless. Decent hose with well attached connector ends. Looking forward to better results in cooler weather and more careful use.

PROs – the full 5/8″ flow through of entire hose. Not many moderately priced RV hoses are built in that fashion.

Really nice hoses and a nice upgrade from the standard white RV hose I usually buy. Update: This hose is very suseptible to kinking if your not careful.

This is a thick hose that was unwilling to bend. I got this in winter but got it to straighten. Summertime woulda been better. It’s a good hose but it still had the hose taste. I’m a bit disappointed.

I bought two of these hoses – a fifty-foot, and, a seventy-five foot. Over the years,I have bought NUMEROUS “supposed” no-kink hoses, which ultimately failed to be kink-free, or, failed in some other structural manner.

I figured that I would finally try Teknor NeverKink Marine Hoses since they weigh about half of what other compatible hoses weigh. I’m very happy that I did. This is the first time EVER that I haven’t had to move a garden hose around the yard in a manner simulating a wrestling match with a Polar Bear!.

This is the first time EVER that I haven’t had to stop every 3 – 5 seconds and untangle a kink! Finally – FINALLY – Praise GOD ALMIGHTY from Whom all blessings (including water through kink-free, and, light-weight hoses) flow!!!.

Unfort for Home Essentials Direct, I returned this immediately. Too flimsy. Too kinky. This is not a high-quality heavy-duty hose. It’s light-duty and likely won’t last more than a year or two and that’s with extreme CARE.

You tend to get what you pay for and this hose was too good to be true for what I need.

Does occasionally kink, but minor. Feels good to be watering my food crops with a hose that doesn’t have LEAD in it! Most major hose brands do have lead. Check the other hoses fine print on their labels for the California 65 warning.

This short length of hose will act as a leader hose for my hose reel. This hose is quality. It will not kink. It has strong brass end connectors. This will be the third leader hose I’ve purchased to replace previous ones that ended up leaking and kinked.

Why buy a cheaper brand that will go bad, needing to be replaced? Purchase a well engineered hose that appears to be top quality and will last a lifetime. Sincerely, Philip.

BEST products and company ever!! I had to replace this inlet hose after a number of years of daily use when it developed a leak. But the hose reel and 100 foot hose I purchased years ago are still going strong even with daily, year round use! I have horses and use this set up to water them, and give baths, and also wash down equipment, so this hose gets a lot of use! I had a problem (a couple of years ago) when a part on the reel broke and Ely replaced the part quickly and without any problems free of charge honoring their warranty.

I can’t say enough about this company. Excellent customer service, and great products!!.

Great quality; material. Wish they had this in a larger diameter. Gardening task takes twice as long because of low water flow, and it has nothing to do with home water pressure. Unfortunately now it’s just hanging as decoration in the yard.

Extremely light which is a great feature. If they made it in a larger diameter I don’t think it would add too much weight to it. Really disappointed.

The hose is very good, light, and most importantly claims to be safe for drinking water, free of the chemicals noted in the product description. We use it to water our garden and animals so we want to avoid as many chemical pollutants as possible and that’s the only reason I got this hose.

This water hose is perfect for my needs. Flexible enough, attaches easily to the water spigot, any nozzle fits and works great! I love the white color with blue stripe, a great option to the usual green.

This hose makes hoses great again! When a kid got sick in my daughter’s tent we were able to walk the entire tent over to the water spout and rinse, soap, and rinse again. All thanks to this hose. It was definitely a great experience.

This hose is heavy. It is not easy to pull around the yard, simply to water plants. It does kink up. It took me a half hour to untangle the hose after removing the packaging. I found that I have to pull and pull on it until resistance is met — extending to the length of the hose — before it will un-kink.

On the plus side, the swivel connectors are great, the hose color is nice, and the hose is durable. (I have only had this hose for a few weeks. ) I wanted to return this hose, but it would be too difficult to re-package.

The Flexzilla 5/8 in. x 75 ft. Garden Hose is the BEST GARDEN HOSE EVER! It’s very lightweight, super flexible, and has excellent water pressure. We have had this hose for around a month now with daily use and it’s far superior compared to just about every other hose out there including heavy solid rubber hoses.

It is kink free, however it’s winded up very tight from the factory so it takes time to stretch out the loops which cause temporary kinking but once it loosens up, it becomes an AWESOME HOSE! I had the choice to buy it at an other online store for the same exact price but decided to go with the Home Depot so I can easily return it if I had to.

Received this just as we had a sidewinder installed on our house to make watering the grass “easier”. My husband wanted a hose that did not kink, and provided a good amount of length to water the front and back yards.

When I got tge hose the first thing I noticed was the color, live that it wasn’t the typical green. I was even more intrigued about the nozzle on the end , the BPA thingy. I grew up and drank water from a water hose without a second thought.

I don’t know if it’s my age or what but I took a drink of water from this hose and I must say it tasted much cleaner than I recalled as a kid. We live our new hose for sure. I only wished it was more slinky like.

Whenever I am not at work, I am in my backyard, I love this water hose and its flexibility. It remains flexible while still retaining that sturdy feel. The color is not your typical green which makes it so much easier to spot in the grass if one of your kids forgets to roll it back up.

We bought this hose to use for adding water to pour pool as needed and to water my gardens surrounding the patio. I’ve only used it twice and It’s nice and lightweight but it DOES kink particularly when you are trying to wind it up for storage and we are concerned that the kinking will affect the life of the hose.

I know it’s not meant to be a heavy duty hose but just want buyers to be aware in case you’ve read the reviews that say it doesn’t kink.

Wish I saw this hose many purchases ago. Yes it’s not cheap, but falls under buy cheap buy twice – buy this one buy once. You get what you pay for. Too many of those those accordion style hoses that you buy at the big box stores break easily because the rubber hose inside which you don’t see is very thin and usually gets brittle when left out during the winter if you live in a 4 season area.

So in a nutshell, buy it!.

I was looking for a great hose, and I didn’t ever want to buy another one. I can’t speak for longevity yet but it’s really easy to see exactly how you fix this hose and how nicely built the adapters are.

Overall it’s a reasonably lightweight, resists kinking when water is running through it, and can be coiled comfortably into a bucket. Basically everything else I was looking for. It’s a good hose.

This is a top-of-the-line product, and I am gradually replacing my arsenal of old hoses with Flexzillas. They are described as absolutely kink-free, and I have always found them to be so. However, one just purchased came with a 90-degree fold about foot from the posterior end of the hose, and it simply won’t go away.

No matter, as it still allows a good flow of water and overall does not appear to negatively affect function. This is such an excellent product that in the future you might want to check them out just before shipping.

I look forward to buying more these hoses in the future, and i don’t hesitate to recommend them to friends (and non-friends).

We actually purchased this hose to use in the yard. It is the perfect length for an extension we needed and we don’t mind the color. Great product, kink-free and a little lighter than most hoses.

Looking for economy hose that wouldn’t kink this is not one of them.

due to all the phenomenal reviews all over the web, but mine are mixed. I have used many hoses over the years, so feel I have a bit of arm-chair knowledge. First, it is not totally a kink-free hose. It will kink at times just like a “regular” hose, but can easily be snapped out by a quick jerk.

Not something you can easily do with a “standard” hose, but it does kink and cut the water off, for sure. Second, the description says it “lays flat” when not filled with water. Not true, it clearly doesn’t.

This wasn’t a reason I purchased it, but clearly not as advertised. Third, it coils much harder then a “standard” hose. What I learned is that it needs to fully drained of water first, otherwise, it just creates a twisting effect that makes coiling it impossible.

In fact, if it has these twists in it, the coil just “figure-8’s” itself with you pick it up. I rarely, if ever, have that issue with a “regular” hose. All-in-all, mixed feelings I would say. If I purchased this without ever seeing a review, I might have given it 4 stars, but the internet hype is crazy, making it sound like it is a drastic hose revolution.

I’ve been through 2 or 3 so called “guaranteed kink free” flexible hoses over the last 10 years – all were complete failures! Not one performed as stated on the label/website and virtually shut off water flow due to tight kinks in the hose after it was unwound from the hose reel and put into use, and then kinked again as they were rewound back onto the hose reel.

So frustrating! Not this one! Flexilla is the best hose I’ve ever had over my 50 years of experience with garden hoses. Car washing, watering plants, lawns, flowers, pressure washing, you name it-this hose does it all exceptionally well.

Combining actual kink-free, light weight durability (car ran over it), and quality leak free fittings, this is one 5 star hose! (Heavy duty rubber hoses are also good in commercial uses, but, due to their excessive weight and cost, or the super lightweight “expandable” hoses that burst under pressure after short term usage, I would definitely recommend the Flexilla for home residential use.
