20 Best Hooks For Hanging Hats (2023 Updated)

These hooks are very nice and match the new doorknobs and hinges we just installed in our home perfectly. But they are much bigger than the old hooks we had installed. Don’t hit the walls, but I should have measured the old hooks first so that I wasn’t so surprised when they arrived.

Beautiful hardware. I bought these to match the cupboard door pulls by the same maker that I used on a redo of our laundry/utility room which is on the main floor of the farms we live in. A bit pricey but look great with the rest of the project.

I bought 4 Amerock hooks. They are very sturdy and look nice. The smaller, hat hook even makes it possible to hang scarves or another jacket on each hook. My original hall tree only had 4 hangers with no extra hat hook.

Instead of hanging 4 coats, we can now hang as many as 12 coats or jackets. This really helps when kids and grandkids come over. Now everyone has a spot to hang their coats. Not difficult to install either.

Caution: Make sure your hall tree is thick enough to accommodate the installation screws enclosed. They are long.

The items came broken the white parts of hook came broken off the silver hook. They look like they were glued. I ordered 2 both broken, were delivered in a bubble wrap envelope. I called customer service and was sent 2 more replacements (asked if they could ship in small box so they would come in one piece) received both broken again in bubble wrap envelope again.

Called Customer service again and got refund. Really liked the hooks too bad cant use them. I tried gluing with epoxy but didnt work.

Quality hooks. Just as described. I used in small bathroom for towels. Works great. Looks good.

These look like much more expensive hooks than they are. I especially like that they are large enough and sturdy enough to handle heavy coats, as well as anything else. Very nice product.

I’m very pleased with these coat hooks. They are not very heavy like a cast iron hook would be. Cast iron tends to not be smooth and I wanted a smooth type hook and not as heavy and these are perfect.

I also love the oil rubbed bronze color. I wanted dark but not black and these are perfect. They’re just what I wanted. I would have taken a picture but I didn’t order enough hooks, I’m ordering more now so I will take a picture when I have all the hooks up.

Bought two of these hooks for my husbands bathroom. Fits his need and the look of the bathroom well. Nice product!

we bought several and they are sturdy and look good. we hang towels on them in our bathroom. We mounted them into a wood board which was then mounted onto the studs. Good way to avoid chinsy towel racks that keep breaking out of the drywall.

This over-the-door hook is longer than most (eight inches) so even though I have to stand on my tiptoes to reach it, at least I am not having to actually jump to hang my bathrobe up! And thankfully (after trying several similar products), the over-the-door part of this is thin enough that I can still close the door without a problem (but still nice and sturdy).

That being said, someone should make over-the-door hooks for short people (I am 5’3″). I almost settled for a wreath hanger until I came across this one and decided to give it a try.

This is a beautiful and well made piece. I love the scroll work and bronze color. It is just what I needed for my hall closet to hang my everyday scarves and hats on. Well worth the price!

This over-the-door coat hook is really pretty (I have the dark one) and quite sturdy. It fits my doors at home snugly so there is no wobbling. It does make for a high hanging place, so if you wanted something kids could access, this wouldn’t be it.

Unfortunately for me, I wanted it for work, and the doors there are thicker. My fault – it didn’t occur to me to measure first. It’s a testament to how much I like this little hook that I’m keeping it anyway!.

This coat rack does the job. But it only has three legs in my opinion four would have given it more stability. I originally wanted it for my living room but after having it there two days in an open space it kept falling over.

I moved it to my room to a corner and it works perfect there. Great for organizing clothes that would normally be on a chair and my robes and caps. It has bigger hooks on top and smaller hooks on the bottom.

I will be searching for a better coat rack for my living room. You get what you pay for, in this case a great price sleek metal and black but it leaves more to be desired that’s why the 3star rating.

Definitely weak metal parts but went together without a problem. Just need to not tighten screws to much because round metal pole bends inward. Nice set up for hanging clothes.

We ordered these hooks to organize the foyer. They are nice and more decorative than others I have seen. They came quickly and are very easy to install. Being that they can hold a decent amount of weight the only thing I would change about them is that I wishes they came with anchors.

We ended up adding our own. Besides that they work great for what we needed them for.

The hooks are strong and nicely styled hardware from India and I would recommend them with one caveat. The hooks come with two sets of #6 wood screws 1″ and 1 1/4″ long with philips heads. Unfortunately the screws are very cheap and strip even with pre-drilled holes.

I went to my local hardware store because they have a good selection of individual screws that are usually of better quality. I pre-conditioned the previously drilled holes using a quality screw, and again tried the screws that came with the hooks, still had a stripping problem during the last few turns, so I used my new screws in all holes — they worked great and matched the rubbed bronze look.

This problem with cheap screws has become very common, wish there were minimum standards that ensured some level of quality. Quality rating on the screws is 1, on the hooks is 4 or 5 (we’ll see how the finish holds up).

I hope this is a case of Chinese quality control – or lack there of. The general condition was fine. I starting mounting the hooks to a hall tree I had built and realized the mounting screw holes were off set and not centered.

This required that I actually place the hooks where I wanted to mount them and carefully mark the holes. Strike one. Then I discovered the recess for the screw heads was angled such that the pilot holes for the screws had to be angled as well.

Not good. Strike two. Then, after drilling pilot holes and lubricating the screws with wax , the screws were of such poor quality that the head twisted off. After extracting the broken screw (not fun) I had to replace with other brass screws of decent quality.

Strike three. They do look good after mounting. It’s sad that quality control and attention to detail is so consistently a thing of the past these days. If these were made in the US, shame on us – but I doubt they were.

I’m building a large Colorado lodge style home, and am working to keep it very rustic looking. I purchased 4 of these hooks to be mounted on a built-in coat and boot storage cabinet made from rough knotty alder.

These hooks are rough cast, and have a look and feel that could fool many folks if you told them that they were old Western antiques. They are heavy enough to support any size coat with ease. They arrive freshly painted, but I think they will look even more authentic with use and age.

The screws that came with it were of poor quality and could strip easily. THe picture looks like a brushed matte gold colour. I received ones that were high gloss gold, not at all what I was expecting.

Could have bought what I wanted at a hardware store, but thought these would be better.

I chose this heavy duty hook to hold my diaper bag, to keep it off the floor so the little one doesn’t go through it every single day. The hook was easy to install, it has the screws included. It holds my diaper bag well, which is about 8 pounds.

This hook holds upto 35 pounds, when mounted into solid wood or wood studs. It does not include anchors for this reason, but if you need to install it in drywall or other surfaces, it recommends using anchors.

The instructions are included on the back of the package and are easy to follow. The Coat and Hat hook look great on my wall and I love that it is heavy duty.

This is a very sturdy hook. I used this to hang up in my son’s room and he has hung sweatshirts and hats on it. No issues getting it on the wall. It is more attractive then the removable hooks and is very sturdy.

These hooks are described as heavy duty hooks holding up to 35 lbs however the packaging says they only hold up to 11 lbs

I was surprised to find these when elsewhere, similar style and sized hooks were twenty plus a piece! Although I was initially skeptical, they were absolutely perfect. I bought 7. Two for the bathroom.

Five for coat hooks by our backdoor. They are beautiful, heavy duty, and inexpensive. Ordered one day. At my door 2 days later. Highly recommended. Be advised: they do not come with wall anchors. If you need them, you will need to provide your own.

Mounted these on an oak strip in a bathroom to hold towels. They look great, the finish is very nice, the style works with traditional to contemporary and they are high quality hooks. They do hold a large bath towel with no worry that it will fall off, and easily hold clothing items.

Attractive and convenient, perfect for kids to start at Montessori height and move them up as needed. I wanted coat and backpack hooks for the kids on a wall that happens to have a pocket door in it.

Sticky hooks = problem solved! And it looks classy so you’d never know they were 3M hooks. Plus, as the kids get taller I can used the extra backing strips to reposition higher. My 1-year-old is so proud he can hang up his own coat, but that will be way too low in a few short years.

I purchased this heavy duty outdoor hook to hang a wreath from. I prepped the glass by cleaning it first with glass cleaner, then again with 70% isopropyl alcohol and let dry. I followed all the instructions, including the wait time before hanging my wreath which is well under the weight limit of 5 lbs.

Everything fell off about 30 minutes later. Had this happen with another Command indoor hook for a picture inside. Not sure what is going on because I normally have no problem with these.

This has been the 4/5th command hook I’ve use that has not worked. Bought this particular hook for a wreath, made of styrofoam I’ll add so it wasn’t heavy at all. The first time I put the hook on my door it didn’t feel secure so I removed it and tried a new strip.

Stuck it on and then hung the wreath. 5 minutes later the wreath fell and the hook was no longer on the door nor was it sticky at all on the back. thinking it was something I did I tried a THIRD time.

This time I let the hook sit for awhile before I put the wreath on. This time it felt more secure about an hour later the wreath fell again this time it broke. which was heartbreaking. Again the back of the strip was completely not sticky.

I cleaned the area after each time I applied the new strips. I mean don’t advertise that is sticks anywhere and hold weight when it can’t even stick to a standard door and hold a wreath up. So disappointing and I’d rather go back to a hammer and nail for the peace of mind.

These hooks were super easy to put up, no mess, no nails just a super sticky adhesive strip that you stick the hook on with. They are solidly made and great quality. I bought 2 of them for our bathroom door and use them for hanging the heaviest bath sheet towels on.

They have not budged a bit they are that secure. The brushed metal effect looks great too and you cannot tell that they are stuck on. Good value for money.

This hook does it’s job well. It is very sturdy, has a classic look, and will last forever. Only problem is that they aren’t stylish looking. I use mine in the closet and it works well for what I need.
