20 Best Hooks For Christmas Lights (2023 Updated)

I wish I could attach pictures to my review. These lights look so great for Halloween! I have the orange/purple string lights in all my low bushes around my house. They are super bright and festive. I love how easy they are to string together and how low wattage they are.

I would definitely recommend. I just wish I could have added pictures.

This was the first year I have used Wintergreen Holiday lights. Very impressed with the quality and the lighted results. These, I believe, are of commercial quality. Especially love the soft twinkle products.

I would have gotten more of the soft twinkle products but, unfortunately, they were out of stock.

Command hooks are great at giving you a way to hang things without damaging your walls, but they didn’t always look so great. If they were hidden, if was no big deal. But when you can see them, they looked a little juvenile.

Not so with this Command metal hook. It looks super classy, and still does the job. I like that the hook actually slides off of the backing. This allows the hook to cover the release tab for the adhesive.

No little plastic piece sticking out from under your hook! And the hook still works as great as ever, holding up to three pounds easily. The way this hook looks makes it a super choice for any room in your house or apartment.

And it is super easy to use. If you can peel the backing off of a bandage and push against a wall, then you can install this hook. This Command hook is a wonderful and simple way to add a hook without nails or screws.

I used it to display my unique collectible backpack, but I could see using it for a bathrobe, keys, or any number of different uses. And it will fit in with your decor as well. I would definitely recommend this product!.

This oil rubbed bronze metal hook is so beautiful. if a hook can be considered as beautiful. The hook is very heavy duty and the oiled bronze is very elegant and modern looking. The hook has a heavy weight to it for a hook and is a very sturdy and strong made hook.

To use this hook all you do is clean the surface, remove red liner and press the adhesive to the back of the hook. Then remove the black liner and press to onto wall. To ensure adhesive will hold slide hook up and off, press for 30 seconds, slide back on and wait for 1 hour before use.

This is so simple to install and is sturdy enough to hold heavy items like pictures, clothes, decorations, and whatever you need it to hold. I personally am so impressed with this hook that I will be buying more of them for my home.

This is not a cheap looking or functioning hook, this hook means business and is strong and just elegant for home and office. I highly recommend this product.

I volunteer to evaluate products for 3M, and the company recently sent me a free sample of the Command Medium Oil Rubbed Bronze Modern Reflections Metal Hook to review. This metal hook may be called “Modern Reflections,” but its weight, angular shape, and oil rubbed bronze finish give it a substantial character that would complement many design styles.

My home has both modern and traditional elements, and this hook fits the scheme perfectly. I have it on a closet door where it has been supporting my husband’s heavy terrycloth bathrobe through daily use for several weeks.

Many years ago I got my wife an outdoor lit snowman for our front yard. These things are pretty notoriously not made to last, and over the years lights started to go out, leading to areas where Mr. Snowman was not lit at all anymore.

I purchased these lights from Novelty Lights to re-wire the snowman and convert him to LED technology. I have to say the results could not be better- after removing the old wiring and lights and a few hundred zip ties for the new strings, he’s better than new.

Some careful planning allowed me to space the lights so that strings ended in between the ‘layers’ of the snowman, which will allow me to take him apart for storage when the holiday season is over, something I could not do with the maze of wiring that existed prior to his transformation.

The lights are bright and sturdy, and the way they are made allows them to shine all around and not just from the centers, as most LED lights do. Some of the lights on the original snowman were not white (those on his ‘arms’).

I simply used a gold paint pen to color the LED’s; they came out perfectly and since they do not get hot I expect the coloring to remain intact. I am attaching a photo of the snowman after his makeover.

I am thrilled with this purchase, the quality of the lights, the shipping time (they arrived very quickly) and the way the twinkling effect is a perfect replacement for the old incandescent lights (those that still worked, at least).

I will buy these again and re-light the angle lawn sculpture that has also fallen on hard times for the last few years.

It’s difficult to source 2. 5″ spaced 5mm led lights and glad NL has them. I used them to replace mini lights on a ten+ year old lawn deer. which is irreplaceable. They are twice as bright (nice) and appear to be much more durable than incandescent MLs.

Even though the instructions advise against modifications, I had to for the antler section. I didn’t feel like dissecting-analyzing the circuit or wasting a string so I used a guerilla approach and spliced in extensions.

Because of the nature of the lights. 2. 5″ spacing for object projects, the product could be improved immensely to allow for mods like forks, terminations, and changeable colors.

These have been great and have stood up to high winds without a problem. They are a great color and brightness and I was able to rescue my beautiful metal lanterns from an incandescent set and give them new life, which is wonderful.

My only tiny concern is that the bulbs are held in with a little plastic latch which makes it difficult to get those lanterns on; the rubber rings have a hard time getting over the latch, so it took quite a long time to get it all going.

But it was not impossible, and my lights are now great! The strings of ten I bought from you don’t have this problem and it was mere moments putting my other decorative mini lanterns on those.

These ringed hooks with welded rings are superb as live bait hooks and replacement hooks on lures and jigs, particularly in the smaller sizes. I prefer these ringed hooks to replace trebles, as needed, on particular lures and jigs since they have proven to be much stronger than the single replacement or inline type hooks, especially in the smaller sizes.

I have had some single replacement and inline hooks straighten out. Not too happy when big fish are lost due to hook performance. Also, the diameter of these welded rings are larger than available hooks with solid rings in the same size.

With the larger diameter, I need not be concerned with split ring issues encountered with ringed hooks with smaller diameter solid rings on my lures.

Outstanding hook for fly lining small live bait. The sizes run smaller than the owner hooks. Size 2/0 have the same gap as the size 2 owner. The shank length are equal size for size. The gauge of Gamagatsu Nautilus hooks are thinner making it stealthier.

Once I go above #40 line then I switch to Owner Mutu or mustad demon 3x. Had plenty of luck with mid grade yellowtail (#7-15). Very strong and have good resistance to corrosion.

Trust me! You DO get what you pay for, and these lights are exceptional! I previously ordered a 25-Pack of C-7 Twinkle bulbs, and they surround my front door! With this 50-Foot Stringer of MORE C-7 LED Twinkle Bulbs across the front of my house on the gutter, I have received compliments from neighbors already! If you wish to harken back to the MCM (Mid-Century Modern) Era, these are the lights for you! The colors are intense and pure, the random twinkling of the bulbs is very festive, and the illumination is bright and appealing! I am extremely pleased with this product and I am happy that they will last me for years and years! You cannot go wrong with this product! I would attach a short video clip here so you could see them, but I see no ability to do so, but you can trust my review of this outstanding product!.

Originally purchased 25ft and 50 ft strands with C9 bulbs (multi-color) to upgrade existing “party lights” for the inside of the porch at a lakeside cottage and liked them so much I subsequently purchased 50 C7 bulbs to retrofit 50ft strand on bunkhouse (outside).

High quality strands and bulbs, arrived earlier than anticipated. Though on the pricey side compared incandescent bulbs or lower quality LEDs, seemingly worth the money and should save over time (I can tell you we will have them on a lot more).

However, these are BRIGHT, and are starker than what you may be used to with incandescents. However, these bulbs are dimmable (reflected in price) and I purchased a simple dimmer switch to adjust the level of brightness to match the tone of the evening.

We paid a pretty penny for a 100ft strand of c-9 lights. Once they came (2 weeks later than expected) we got them hung on the house, but when going to plug them in, they did not work. My husband has replaced the fuse in the cord 4 times now, once with the additional fuse that came with the lights and then with fuses from Home Depot (with the appropriate voltage).

Each time, as soon as they are plugged in, the fuse sparks and blows. We do not have the lights plugged in to anything additional lights, we have double checked that all the lights are screwed in properly, and have checked the cord which doesn’t appear to be damaged in any way.

Very unsatisfied you have gotten a bad strand of lights. Will be returning these.

We have been using our set of stocking hooks for years. They work so much better and are far more safe and secure than the decorative weighted hooks. They can take some initial adjustment to get them to the correct shape for the mantle, we’ve used the same set on 4 different mantles and for each new mantle they definitely required some re-shaping but ultimately worked on every mantle we’ve attempted.

Bought these last year and loved them. Bought them again this year for extra stockings and they don’t hold the stockings correctly. The hook that holds the stocking doesn’t curve up enough to keep them on.

They stay on the mantle great though!.

I received this product free from 3M in order to test it; the fact it was free has not influenced my opinion. This set of two hooks appears to be designed to hold cooking tools on an outdoor gas-fired grill.

I don’t have one, so can’t comment on that. I have used these hooks to hold garden shears; they work fine for that purpose (they hold up to 2 pounds and are useable from -20 to +125 degrees F according to the label).

Like all Command products, they are easy to put on and do their job as advertised. The only reason I give them less than a 5 star rating is that (except for holding tools on your grill) I can’t think of any reason to use these hooks rather than an inexpensive nail in the wall.

(Of course a Command hook doesn’t leave a hole in the wall when you take it off; but that isn’t a big deal in most applications out-of-doors. I good, though limited purpose product.

I received this as a free sample to review. I currently have the pair of these on my front door to hold a seasonal banner / flag up. Sub zero temps and no issues with these sticking and staying put. See photos, but ignore my hanger that I left on the door! Great to use for seasonal decorations on doors.

Super Product!.

I was drowning in the quicksand of all in one clips when michael wiseman threw out a 1000ft spool of C9 sockets with 12in spacing. I was lucky that one socket fell gently over my thumb allowing me to grip and thrash my way to safety.

With a mistletoe hanging at bay, michael looked deep into those sockets and realized this was all Devonn’s fault. Moral of the story is to be careful when answering the phone!.

These worked perfectly on my newly-installed green gutters. Very low profile, unobtrusive, really easy to get the lights into and out of, and they clip on very securely. They look tons better than the old white ones I had that were always a struggle to get the light seated into, and they hold the lights perfectly straight.

These are so nice looking, I may not even take them down when the season’s over.

I used these to hang a mesh sunshade tarp from our RV awning, and they were so easy to use! I bought two packs to hang a 16′ tarp from a 16′ awning and had 4 hooks left over. The hooks are large enough to still hang an outdoor string of lights, and I believe the awning would roll up if we removed the hooks from the rubber holders without having to remove the holders first–easy enough to do.

The rubber hook holders have bar-type ends that are a different size at each end, and each end can hold a hook. That’s so you can choose the side that best fits your awning channel. These use the same channel or groove that your awning’s pull cord/ribbon uses, so you can leave your ribbon at one end of your awning (like we did), or leave it hanging from the middle of your awning, but you’ll have to figure out where you want it before sliding these into place.

They’re much easier to use than I thought they would be. We created an inexpensive sunroom in front of our RV by clamping white poly tarps to the metal arms on each side of the awning, then using these hooks to hang the sunshade tarp in front.

We added an RV mat that was the same size as the awning, and we’ll be making a DIY skirt out of two heavy white shower curtain liners attached with velcro strips. It should help keep things cooler this summer, and it gives us a cozy outdoor room to sit in and enjoy nature in the cold weather.

I bought these with the intention of hanging a 6×12 shade cloth tarp with grommets from the canopy channel of a 1953 Airstream. Of course, they’re billed as “”party light holder,”” so I wold fault them if they weren’t perfect for canopies, but I think they’ll be good.

1953 Airstreams have a 1/4″” channel. This product has two ends with different sized inserts. I find the larger end is barely large enough to stay in the 1/4″” channel. Of course, it’s not the size of the channel so much but the size of the slot that matters here, if it is to stay in.

It’s a close thing, because I had one of them right at the very end of the channel, and it came out because the channel was worn or flared at the end, and the product could get started oozing out. But when not given a chance to start coming out, it seems to stay in okay.

I like them because the slide easily in the channel. I am tall enough to put them in and move them around while standing. I measure the diameter of the large end as close to 7/32″” and the small end to be about 3/16″”.

In my case, 1/32″” is the difference between staying and and slipping out. The rubber body between the ends if 3/32″” thick, so if you have that size slot or larger, you can get it in, which I’m sure every channel will have.

I haven’t had it long enough to know, but I suspect this is probably not the product for something that will be left permanently in the sun. I could be wrong, but living in Central Texas, it doesn’t feel like the kind of material to survive.

But it will be fine for occasional weekend use.

I’ve implemented these hooks to hang storage hammocks on the interior gel coat of our sailboat kept on the ocean year round. We stuff and pull things in and out and they’ve not budged. I purchased extra expecting to have to replace them over time but it’s been over 3 years.

Also notable we pulled the boat during the height of the pandemic and it was stored in our yard in So. Cal. desert with temps above 110. I am blown away. We remodeled the gally and I needed to move a 3M caddy after all this time and it came off without a hitch.

Again, I am referring to the Water Resistant Bath Strips. The standard ones didn’t hold for this application. Thank you 3M! I now have ample storage options on our little home away from home without drilling holes which obviously is not an option.

The first one I bought lasted about 2 years until the end of the hook broke of and CRASH! All of my bathroom supplies went down for the count. Next one I bought lasted a year and this one failed due to the adhesion strip on the back let go.

I called the company and they don’t recommend that you put them in the shower because they are only water resistant. Why do they recommend them for bathrooms? I used them to hold up my shelf with shampoo and shaving cream(less than 5 lbs.

) Got no help from Command. Will just buy something else. the hooks are not that cheap either.

Both of my bathrooms are small and needed extra places to hold towels or clothing especially when I had family visiting. Therefore, I placed one on the back of each door. My mother and I use it to hold our clothes while we showering or just to hang other clothes there.

I also placed one each on the outer shower glass doors so family can place their towels on the hooks. This helped tremendously and when there are no visitors, Mom and I use them as well. The bathroom items do not fall from the moisture from taking a hot shower.

In fact, when I was in the store, an elderly couple were looking for hooks to place in their bathrooms so items won’t fall. I advised and showed them where the bathroom products were and how I have been using them.

They were thankful for the information and purchased what they needed. Now there are other bathroom products such as towel bars, I will get those since I have been remodeling my bathroom as time permits.

All of the command products are excellent investments and even better when you have have to nail holes in the walls or doors.

These little hooks are perfect for more than Hallmarks miniature ornaments. I created a fairy Garden setting in my enclosed patio. Something I’d been planning for years. I made light posts using tiny clay pot, chopsticks and mini eye screws.

These hooks are used to attach fairy lights to my light pots. In a few days my fairy Garden will take on a Halloween setting with pumpkin lights hung with these hooks and later into a winter wonderland with icicle and snowflake lights using these hooks to hang these tiny light.

These lights are bright, beautiful, and great quality. I bought a ton of them to replace all the lights in my 9-foot pre-lit garlands. (The garlands were from Amazon and most of the lights failed within one season.

) The length of these strings was a perfect fit for my garlands. One other thing that’s nice about these light strings is that they are well packaged and clean — unlike many of the low quality lights you find everywhere else which leave your hands all dirty with some kind of strange mystery residue.

I’ve purchased tons of lights from Novelty Lights (over 250 feet of outdoor string lights and 10 of their 6-foot Flex Trees for my yard). My experiences have always been great — quality products, fair prices, pleasant shopping experience, and very responsive if you have any questions.

Color and quality were just what would be expected for commercial grade. Exactly what I needed. I also ordered Red and White LED rope light spools and cut to fit my needs, also fantastic! Changed out string lights for the season to Red and Pure White.

The plastic ‘red’ bulbs were out of stock, that’s what i got for last minute decision-making, ordered glass instead. Everything was great, and shipping was impressive considering it was November. Nice job folks!.

Perfect small sets of lights to replace burned out lights in some of my small mini-light containers. Those decorative lights in containers are sold everywhere, but unfortunately the plug in light sets with only 10 lights are very difficult to find.

Many are available that are battery-powered, but I didn’t want to have to keep replacing batteries. I have bought quite a few of these lights from Novelty Lights, with cords in various colors to match the container I’m putting them in, and have been very pleased with the quick service and the quality of the light strings.

Wow, these are beautiful warm lights. I was so excited unboxing them. Even more delighted when I plugged them in. They look beautiful and are hanging from a tree and are much admired by the neighbors.

They are a warm yellowish white. I was nervous that these would be that despicable bright white (yuck) LED. They were very well packaged, delivery was seamless. I will be ordering more from Novelty. Very professional! Thank you.

These are perfect for hanging smaller items that you want to have handy. I’ve been using them to hang cloth shopping bags, so they’re always easy to find when I need to go to the supermarket. You could use them to hang a set of keys near the door, a wall calendar or chore schedule.

Really, anything up to a pound will work on these hooks. They are simple to attach to the wall, with no damage whatsoever. A big plus for apartment dwellers. They also have a sleek, modern look, with an attractive brushed metal finish.

I really like these hooks. My only complaint is that they aren’t flexible. By that I mean that they do not hinge in any way and the hook instead is solid or fixed. I had hoped they would move a bit but I found another use for them and it may be even better than my original plan.

The brushed nickel coating looks like and feels like it will hold up well. These hooks can hold up to 1lbs which is plenty for the small decorations I used them with. I’m very pleased and have not had any issues with the hooks.

They stuck where I placed them and about a day later I placed my decorations on the hooks for a pop on my wall without a hole.

I live in southeast Georgia and have metal roof on my house and two story garage. We’re subjected to very heavy rains and storms. Today a torrential downpour and thunderstorm hit us after i installed the magnetic string lights on top of my metal roofs.

I was worried that the sheets of rain would push the string off since i placed the bulbs so close to the roof edge. The sheets of rain DIDN’t budge the string lights even a millimeter. I took video and pictures and wish i could upload for ya’ll to see for yourself.

I highly recommend these lights because they are sturdy, reliable, and are easy to put up.

Third times a charm! First we bought lights off of Amazon – they were super dim and not magnetic. Next, we hired a professional lighting company. still not right. Lastly, I reached out to Novelty Lights and got the PERFECT combination to make our small business POP on our street.

So far the lights have been working but still not completed with project ! Trying to figure the spacing that is longer than anticipating ! Have a comelback effect between spaces that would be nice if were shorter.

I am a Seahawks fan! I made a framework of the number 12 with intentions of stringing blue and green LED flashing lights onto. These LED lights are sturdy and reliable!!! Think about not having to check which bulb is out that is keeping your string from working.

NOT FUN!! You don’t have that with LED lights! I will never buy a bulb again!!!.

First, I like that this thing is foldable and can be stored in a compact manner. However, when out on my window lit on the dark of the night, the snowflake looks more like a flower. I asked my 8 year old kid and she agreed.

I think there is just not enough light bulbs to shape it like a snowflake in the dark. Don’t get me wrong, when the thing is not lit, it truly looks like a snowflake. Also, the light effect is more like a slow flash than a twinkle.

I was looking for the shimmering effect but did not get that here. I guess you get what you pay for as the price is in the low end compared to some other. The light is not as bright either compared to the 36″ snowflakes.

Overall, it is a good buy if you are in a budget as Christmas decorations do add up. If I had to do it again, I would most likely reconsider for the better snowflake.

Big improvement on the snowflake folding system! These new ones are even easier than the old ones, to unfold and snap open. The extra cords are another real plus too. Neighbors and strangers walking by LOVE the way the snowflakes help to brighten the darkness of winter evenings.

They make it easier to see the house number on the fence too!.

Usually what you see on line isn’t a guarantee for what you might get. I ordered 2 of these , which arrived quickly, and were easy to put together using the plastic snaps that were included. Hung them in the window and plugged them in.

Very-very bright Blue and they create a Xmas spirit easily. The neighborhood kids like the way they look and I just laugh because they are so joyful and bright.
