I like that it feels heavy duty, and judging by owning more than one. This one takes the cake. Understand you get what you pay for in quality. This family does great work here in America.

I have much better volume of water flow than when using inline preset regulator. The regulator seems to be excellent quality and meter is easy to read. Only been using about a week so cannot comment on longevity.

It was not necessary to adjust the pressure when i hooked it up as the output pressure was reading 40 psi.

Awesome pressure regulator that let’s you adjust the pressure and has a guage to set pressure to. Helps greatly to see and adjust my pressure to 50 lbs or if water supply system is lower psi in the park to know this and not worry that something is wrong with my RV plumbing.

If you need to replace your water pressure regulator. The cost of this is worth a DIY repair. The exchange from old to new took only a few minutes and I most likely saved at least $100. 00 the plumber would charge in labor.

I used this to replace the discontinued BR4 model and it was an exact replacement. Similar to other reviews mine only came with one rubber washer so I had to reuse the washer with the strainer on it but its not leaking so Im happy with it.

Worked alright for about 18 months. At that point pressure would randomly get extremely high and then lower once a faucet was turned on. This damaged both my fridge water line and a bathroom faucet. Ill look for another brand to replace this one and hope for the best.

Installed with ease. Straightforward directions. Compact size. You need an inch on each end of the pipes to make a secure tight connection.

Old Pressure Regulator leaked. This Regulator did the job. Easy connection with SharkBite. Be careful to make sure the arrow is pointing in the right direction. I installed it the wrong way and nothing worked.

After I figured out what I had done, it was easy to fix because you can undo sharkbite and make it correct. Glad I was not soldering. I will use SharkBite everytime I can.

Installed this with a friend last week because my water pressure averaged 85-100psi! We installed it near my meter on a vertical section of copper pipe. We followed the directions exactly. When I repressurized the system, one of the ends started popping off.

We shut down system again and reinserted the pipe, gave it a few twists and repressurized (slower this time). It has been holding well since. I recommend this.

What’s to not like? Easy replacement, only took about ten minutes. Took longer to relieve pressure on the system than to replace the part. Count on about an hour and some water on the floor.

I used a Watts Bronze feed water regulator for the corrosion resistance. (Vs cast iron) Easy install, I was replacing a cast iron unit of the same dimension so I did not have to sweat the fitting. Very quick shipping from supply house.

I use the watts 1156 and always with the Watts 9-D in OXYGEN RICH hydronic systems with a radiant-X expansion tank. In an oxygen-free system I typically use the Amtrol Fill-Trol along with the Watts 9D.

This thing is complete junk and cheaply made. All plastic. Failed after 8 months. Body leaks. This will sink your boat, find something else.

Exact replacement for the one that leaked after being used with the filter hanging from the connection. The filter was causing the fitting to come loose. Operator error and not fault of the connection! Good product plus comes in black & white with the pressure/back-flow valve mounted.

I’m on my third one of these and they have all come apart where the external fitting is pressed into the plastic body of the pressure regulator. Terrible design. I even put in a strain relief to ensure that the hose wouldn’t pull against the pressure regulator.

Still came apart. Needless to say, my customer isn’t very happy.

this model 40051 sold in the store. there is another online 40055 for less. dont know the difference , but they both have same pressure rating and the one i bought is too low. not enough flow for shower.

conserves water i guess but i dont that on city line, but maybe i got one closer to 40psi. need a tad higher psi around 50-60. good quality and does what it says, def protects plumbing but at low flow trade off in my jayco jayfight.

Never had one before. after having my last 4 hoses swell up like an anaconda that just ate a small child, then burst, leaving me to roll back to a camper with a huge mud puddle around it, or worse yet, a kitchen sink faucet that literally popped off from the pressure! Picture this(true story) you go to the beach for the afternoon, you return to your camper to find that the 160 psi water hookup blew apart your kitchen faucet, and it’s been running for 5 hours.

there is a waterfall coming out your door. the membrane on the bottom of your camper is full of water. You hate life! You should have just used a regulator. Just get one. Campsite water pressure is so unpredictable.

Even the nicest campers are built like crap. Don’t blow apart your pex piping because you Were too cheap to buy a regulator.

This Regulator is an absolute necessity to protect RV water tanks and connections. Reduces water pressure coming from the spigot to a safe level. The Regulator is very well-built and should last for years.

All brass, so no rust. One suggestion is to have a supply of rubber rings to replace every now and then. That’s the only thing that will wear out on this unit. Easy five-star rating and an honest and very hearty recommendation!.

First one had the needle on the wrong side of stop-pin. So we could not get an accurate pressure reading. Seems to be a common problem with these. While the water is on, turning the screw adjustment does not immediately move the needle in real time.

So you have to turn your spigot on and off a few times to see the exact pressure adjustment you’re trying to make.

I really like this regulator. I’m a new RV’er and everything I read said this is a must-have accessory. The quality of machining and construction on this is very nice, and it’s solid and heavy. I doubt that I’ll be adjusting it much, but the reason I like having an adjustable model over the regular in-line type regulator is that it has a gauge, and I can see what the pressure actually is.

Tip: Keep the package it comes in! It’s delivered in a cardboard box that has a fitted foam insert that holds the regulator protected from impact. It’s perfect for keeping it safe from damage between uses.

Fantastic item. Needed a water regulator for a chemical mixing station at my car wash. The car was manufacturer wanted $120 for one and this one is identical, (except it required a couple adapters to go from GHT to MPT) and works beautiful.

There’s one other review and I have no idea what conditions caused his to fail. or if there was a mis-application. All I can tell you is that these are great. The 610 model is designed for pressures as high as 450psi.

The 600 model is only workable to about 150 psi. It’s worth noting that the model 610 and model 610XL are exactly the same size and same in every way except that the XL has “no lead”. why they didn’t call it a 610LF (LF as in lead free) or anything other than XL (which sounds to me like extra-large or extra-long) is beyond me.

This is what happens when you let engineers make marketing decisions. The only thing that I can say is that they work well, are easy to install, and you can buy rebuild kits if you ever need to rebuild it.

I did some research and found that this reducing valve gives me the best performance when considering pressure drop with higher demand. Never used Supplyhouse before and I was skeptical because the price was the best anywhere.

I put an order in and had it within 5 days. True believer now!.

I ended up going over to the big box and getting the 1 inch. My 3/4 inch supply line from the water district uses a 1 inch plastic pipe up to the house. So I used a 1 inch regulator. A suggestion is to make clear that a feature of the regulator is if installing on a 3/4 inch supply line, that the line may actually be 1 inch.

Go ask a plumber what is going on here and tell your cutomer’s the answer. Fortunately, I checked the pipe diameter with calipers before cutting it so I went to get the 1 inch regulator and shutoff valve to make sure I had everything in the right size before I cut the line.

Our water pressure reducing valve completely rusted out and broke into pieces. Not in stock in local plumbing supply companies. Search online and Zoro has the best price and also free shipping. It is a no-brainer.

This is a top quality regulator, well machined, based on good engineering. I installed it at home, after discovering that the incoming water had a pressure of 160 psi (Recommended for home 50-60, never more than 80 psi).

The regulator was easy to install on the preexisting PVC 1″ pipe.

Good Quality. Easy Installation by homeowner. Works well. Allows adjustment of your house pressure. JUST FYI: PRVs allow adjustment of high pressure in a house. As a Certified Property Inspector, most plumbing codes limit house pressure to 80 psig maximum to prevent premature failure of pipe fitting components and appliances (water heaters/washers).

Recommend you adjust the PRV for 40-65 psig. Also most current day codes recommend that if you have a closed system (which you will have with a PRV) than you should also add the water expansion tank to prevent pressure buildup in system.

Make sure you set the bladder compressed air pressure on tank to match house pressure.

These are great timesavers and if installed correctly are trouble free. I have a eb 45 pressure valve installed in my house supply line partially buried in the dirt for 7 years with no leaks or regulation problems.

Now they make many more fittings than 7 yrs ago which make splicing into water lines even easier. They are a bit pricey but make life easier on a wide variety of repairs or new lines using pex, copper pipe and cvpc pipe.

I put one of these on my home supply line. After 2 days it started to pound whenever the water was running. Sent it back and got another one. Same thing happened again. It pounded when the water ran.

I will send it back but will not get another one.

I purchase this valve on 25/11/2016. Worked ok for aprox. less than 4 years than pressure was not regulated at all I disassembled it and inside was very clean (did not see any calcium or dirt) also strainer cleaned) I did not take out the rubber inside, diaphragm is ok but will not lower the pressure at all (the adjustable scree was completely out (no tension) I had prior this one more Watts PRV because of the low price! same situation.

One I repaired with with an expensive kit. but only for short time. This valve is a low quality for low budget.

The 25AUB is a decent quality pressure reducer compared to some others out there. It is not a budget model like some and usually performs for 10 to 20 years in most water systems without rebuilding/replacing.

Pros are noise free operation(usually) and well made heavy duty brass body with stainless steel fasteners. Some other models are budget models that are in part made out of plastic sometimes that will only give you problems and make whining noises as water flows thru them.

Cons are the union nut is disturbingly thin compared to what Watts used to make a few years ago. Budget engineering has made this nut thin and will crack if overtightened. This is hard to do however but it has happened on rare occasions.

Another con is the tan painted cap(made to try to blend in with the brass body) that is made out of steel that will rust on the outside as it sweats with condensation from the cold water inside the unit and the warm air outside the unit.

However, I understand that this is done to keep the unit competitive with other similar brands like Apollo.

My current PRV was made by Wilkinson or something like that, and I had to adjust it to 80 Lbs of pressure to have any decent water pressure in the house. Anyways my my main shut off valve in the basement was plastic and did not turn easily nor shut off all the way and was starting to leak.

So I figured it was time to replace them, and while I was in there and switching over to Shark bite shutoff valves I mind as well replace the PRV. Well I did with this one and I set it at 70LBS. hoping that it was good enough thinking the old valve over time could not probably regulate and hold the pressure as well as this new one.

I was right! at 70LBS I get even better water pressure than my old one at 80LBS, in fact it is so much better I now have noticed my sprinkler system throws water easily 10 feet farther. Bottom line huge difference and now I am going to be turning my valve down to 60LBS or lower.

It works as advertised. I bought it to replace the exact model that had lasted about 8 years. I had to replace it because it would not hold pressure due to an internal leak allowing city line pressure to reach my house piping.

A comment on quality cannot be made now because time can be the only judge. If it lasts 10 years, I’ll be happy. If it fails next year I will not be happy.

What do you say about a pressure reducer? It works? One does not play with a pressure reducer. you put it on the pipe and forget about it. It sure looked pretty, but I bet an ugly one would work just a good.

I haven’t installed the valve yet but it is exactly like the one in use now except brand new. I was able to adjust the one currently in use to a lower pressure but glad to have this one as a spare.

My boiler was running filling up at an elevated pressure, up to 40 PSI, and I had to use the shutoff, just to stop it from getting too much water pressure, even when the system was not running. I disassembled the valve, found it filled with gunk, and the union washer was crumbling.

I cleaned it out, put it back, but it was not possible to set it at 15 psi, even with the screw all the way out, with no pressure on the spring. Fortunately, Supplyhouse has it at a great price, and they shipped it out same day on a friday afternoon.

thanks guys!! Quick delivery by UPS ground. I installed it, and problem instantly cured. I had previously had the iron body version, but I bought this bronze body version instead, only because it was cheaper, and the iron body item was back-ordered.

Good choice, because the bronze will probably last longer, although I didn’t see much rust in the old one, even after 20 years of service. I was impressed that Supplyhouse has all the manufacturer’s info available in PDF, so that really helped me figure out what i needed, and how to set it up.

Those same PDF also helped me disassemble and clean out the old one to troubleshoot it, before I decided I needed to order the new part. Thanks supplyhouse!!.

I have several of these in my brewery, they are useful to bring down the glycol loop psi from 25 to 15 in order to protect my fermenters’. These are my go to regulators.

This is an exact replacement for the one that failed on our water main. Considering I have lived in this house for almost 20 yrs and never needed to touch the pressure valve I’d consider that good. I hope this one lasts as long.

Quality is top notch and it was extremely easy to mount and set the pressure. Came from the factory set just a hair under 50 psi. So I set ours to 60 psi and its working flawlessly. I’m glad that in 20+ yrs the design hasn’t changed at all which made it a must get since it was basically plug and play.

BTW, the local plumbing supply houses wanted about twice the price for the exact same unit. So thankful that I found it here.

Upon investigating increasing water hammer when dishwasher started, I found household water pressure to be 125psi. Great for throwing water out there with garden hose, but bad for appliances. Replaced a 30 year old buried pressure reducing valve with this one.

Comes with two 3/4″ female adapters with rubber o rings. No need for teflon tape with o rings. Just don’t over tighten it and crush the rubber. Lead free according to attatched label. No leaks and tested to 50psi from factory.

Will adjust to 75psi as the decreased pressure is very noticeable spraying with a garden hose. Would absolutely buy again.

Works great, easy to install. However, there is supposed to be a screen to filter out large debris. For some reason mine didn’t include this, which I discovered when I took it apart because it was no longer reducing the pressure.

It had been working fine for a year, but a piece of solder from a recent project got into the line and damaged the seals. Had the screen been there like it was supposed to be, it would have prevented me from having to buy a replacement.

There are rebuild kits, but they are ridiculously over-priced and almost as must and a new PRV. Otherwise, been very happy with it. Holds the pressure exactly where it is set to.

I bought a house and put a gage after the old regulator and same as city pressure. Pulled the thirty + year old regulator and lots of damage from lime in the water. The old one was soldered into a copper manifold, this regulator is the same so just had to replace without braking any solider joints.

The product matches the description. The adjustment (minimum 1 bar) is accessible and easy. I used this happily to replace bottom of the range plastic water regulators sold from a DIY shop which leaked permanently since being installed.

The minimum pressure are 1 bar doesn’t disrupt a drip-to-drip watering system and makes it possible to deal with sloped terrain (with a high point). Note: if you assemble it with female sprinkler parts made of hard plastic, it’s better to go for double plastic fittings that have a longer threaded portion.
