20 Best Home Hvac Scent System (2023 Updated)

The systems are very effective even in large spaces. Even without being connect to the HVAC the system was able to infuse the living room (1,500+ sq. ft) with the aroma. We did have our HVAC person connect them to the HVAC as our HVAC systems are more complicated and not something we could do ourselves.

Our favorites were Noir and Dubai which are subtle but refined scents.

I can not get enough of these scents. We purchased the larger unit and connected it to the HVAC system. I currently turn the fan on just to “get away” and transport myself to an international destination.

My current fave is Love Affair but I def want to try them all. Santal is a favorite it makes me feel like when I go into a luxury boutique. Smokey, incense all the things that smell like LeLabo Santal but all over my home.

This is such a great diffuser, currently we are only diffusing at level 10 and it is more than enough.

We installed the Aroma Pro in our attic diffusing through the HVAC. We have it set for our 2000 sf home & it is amazing! Our entire home smells so fresh & inviting. We’ve had several contractors over the past year & they always ask what is that wonderful smell? I smile & send them straight to Aromatech.

Beach house was the first aera scent I purchased for my full size diffuser. I read the reviews for it and decided this might be a good match for me. I was not disappointed. It is not a cliche, suntan lotion smelling fragrance.

It is summery, yes, but is complicated enough to read as welcoming and fresh. Fresh is not quite the right word, but the fragrance isn’t “muddy” smelling; as if too many things were mixed together. I currently have it in my kitchen so that anyone coming through that door smells it.

It’s just so nice to come home to. I suspect it will be a good kitchen scent, regardless of season. I can absolutely imagine it in a beach house, or a master bedroom retreat. Lovely scent.

I had previously ordered the sample and immediately fell in love with floral high notes. Upon receiving the canister what first struck me was the mellow powder undertones not evident with a sample spritz.

It really only presents when the scent is played for a length of time. The overall scent is delightful but less floral in a canister. It is softer than a traditional blossom inspired aroma. It sits heavy in the air and permeates a space with a slow covering spread instead of the loft wisps of some of the lighter aromas like curiosity or vibrance.

It’s a good early spring scent. Maybe too heavy for summer or warmer spring days. Great transitional scent. Enjoying it as a prelude to Easter but not my favorite. Will play out but may not reorder. If you enjoy heavier, mellow, or cotton inspired scents this one is a winner! If you prefer lighter, sharper blossom scents, or high note tones this may be worth a try to expand your horizons but may not be your new favorite.

I’m always in search of soft, subtle but luxurious hotel and resort-like scents (unfortunately Aera fails me here on the reg). I had sampled this before but it just seemed like too much lemon. Then I bit the bullet and plugged it in as I watched The White Lotus on HBO.

I don’t know if it’s that association, but I feel like this is what that resort smelled like. Much like Deep Relax, the other Aera fragrance I can tolerate, this one got better over time. The more it ran, and the more I got used to it.

it settled into this soft, delicate, almost paper-like smell. Almost to the point where I miss the lemon notes. They’re still there, but they’re not as overpowering anymore. It’s still not quite the Westin/Hotel scent I was after, but it’s really close at this point.

Definitely give it a shot if you like hotel smells. Just buy the bottle and diffuse it. Then give it a couple days to let it hit its stride.

I’ve bought 3 including Lavender and Orange smells. The first one was overall good and I had it till the end. The second one smelled good for a couple weeks and it started to give kind of stinking smell in the air.

In the end I had to throw it away when it was still half full. The third one is the same smelling good for a couple of weeks and then turn into some very unpleasant odor and I had to threw it away. Experiences of two are sufficient for me to draw a conclusion not to buy again.

My sense of smell is horrible and it always has been. I can’t really tell if something smells unless the scent is extremely strong. This is both a blessing and a curse when I live alone with 4 cats. I normally can’t smell the dirty litter boxes until they are very dirty but for that same reason, I can’t tell on my own when they only smell a slight bit before I have visitors over.

I decided to try this to help out since I’ve never tried this kind of air freshener before. And my 4 cats like to get in to anything and everything. I opened 1 can and set it on the counter a few feet away from the litter box area.

About 2 weeks later my mom visited my house and I asked her about the smell. She did say it didn’t seem as bad as it sometimes is. So I think it is helping! But the great this is that my 4 curious cats couldn’t care less about these things! I guess the cans are too big for them to get any joy from knocking off the counter because they never try.

The openings at the top are too small to fit paws in. The scent doesn’t drive them away but it doesn’t entice them either. None of them care about these things sitting around the house. They all have absolutely no interest in them whatsoever! I don’t know how much these things help with the odors in my house, but I know they aren’t hurting anything.

And they’re not very expensive to replace every other month so I plan to continue using them! UPDATE: I’m nearing the end of the 60-day period with having 2 of these set out. When my mom was visiting a few days ago she said that there is definitely a noticeable difference between the way my house smelled before I tried these and how my house smells now.

I will definitely be purchasing more to continue using in my home!.

The smell is overwhelming. I bought 3, and returned 2. I tossed the third one because I could not tolerate the smell. For the week that it was in my outside trash in my garage (during winter) the smell hit me every time I opened my garage door.

It does not eliminate doors it just masks orders with a very strong perfume smell.

My wife purchased this scent machine for my birthday:)). We have a 4,000 sq. ft. house with 2 ac units. We connected the Air Stream Single to only one ac unit so far and it works amazing. Super happy with the quality of the product and most importantly the quality of the fragrance oils.

Very well made, the timer is easy to operate and it turns on and off at my set times which helps me save on oil. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking to scent their home. Will be buying another one when it goes on sale to cover the second floor of the house, Currently using Green Tea Lemongrass and occasionally switching up to White citrus.

We have 3800sqft living space. This unit makes it all smell good. It was necessary to wrap a large towel around the aluminum canister to silence the noise however. Aluminum is prob the issue. If it was plastic the tinny sound prob would be less apparent.

Once we decided on our favorite aroma, there was no need for variety. This system lets you set it up and forget about it for a whole year! It’s installed to distribute a fine cold-air mist throught your entire HVAC system.

Let’s say that you don’t like scented candles, room deodorizers, air fresheners, & don’t like breathing in the chemicals you’ve sprayed to clean the air. Let’s say that you’re really frugal & don’t want electricity to trickle away in each room where you plug in air fresheners.

Well, maybe you’d prefer to simply attach a Filtrete Whole House Air Freshener to your Filtrete HVAC air filter & let your HVAC fan do double duty – pulling particles from the air AND pushing fragrances as well.

I received the Filtrete product for free from 3M as a volunteer evaluator of products. I like the simplicity of this product & I like that it has six (6) nature-inspired scents to choose from. I selected Lavender.

Due to warmer weather during the test my HVAC was not turning on often to warm the house and thus the fan was likewise not turning on. I could have turned set the fan to continuously run but that’s something I rarely ever do.

So my review is that I could smell the fragrance of the Filtrete freshener – but only once in a while. Without the fan running continuously the effect is minimal. The product is an option but one I would use to supplement other methods of similar cost for improving the whole house fragrance.

In a townhome with pets, I was so excited about the possibilities of this scented product, but sadly it did not live up to my expectations. The strips allow you to adjust the strength of the scent, so I pulled both strips off in order to get the strongest scent, but I still felt that the scent was too weak.

I should mention though, in my townhome we have vaulted ceilings which means our AC vents are rather high on the walls, so I think that could possibly impact the scent distribution. The only room that I could smell it in was a smaller bedroom with low ceilings, so that suggests it may work for smaller spaces or apartments.

The scent is very pleasant, I just couldn’t really smell it once it was in place. On the pros side, it is extremely easy to use because you just peel the strips to your desired scent level, fold the edge, and attach it to your AC filter in your air handler.

If you like very subtle scents, you might actually really like this, I just personally prefer stronger scents so it did not live up to my expectations. I think it’s probably best suited for apartments or smaller living situations.

I received a sample of the 3M – Filtrete™ Whole House Air Freshener in Linen Breeze from 3M for free in exchange for an honest review. Overall, I was not impressed with this product. When I opened the package, the smell of the linen breeze was good.

I opened up one side of the scent packs to start. There is a plastic piece on top to bend and place over the top of the filter and attach with a double sided piece of command tape. When I folded the piece over, it snapped and broke instantly.

So I reconfigured the command tape and taped the scent pack to the filter side. I smelled the linen scent coming through the vent closest to the filter. The rest of the house vents – I smelled nothing.

Within a day, the first vent didn’t even have a scent. I opened up the second side of scent packs. These did exactly what the first did. The scent was simply not strong enough to scent the house through the vents.

This item might work for one room, but not for even a small house. I don’t know if it would work better going through a system with heat – I live in Florida and use ac already in March. Overall, I am not impressed.

While I absolutely love the fragrance of Volcano for the price (subscription or not), it IS expensive. I have 2 diffusers ($44 each) and 4 scents (approx. $11 each with subscription; $17 without subscription) equals $132 just to start.

Using intensity of “5,” and only using each warner less than 5 hours/day, I’m getting less than 30 days before needing to refill. So your monthly purchase will essentially be $22 per month per diffuser using the same settings.

I’d feel differently if the scent cartridges were the same price BUT used at an intensity of “5” AND lasted a full 30 days. It’s easy enough to set up but one thing that isn’t expressly mentioned is the front is magnetic and can just “pop off” very easily (no need to unscrew) and be sure to NOT insert the scent cartridge until you’ve scanned the bar code.

Other than that, it was fairly simple. I do like the scheduling aspect of it (especially since I’m NOT going to be running the scent for 24 hours as it would be cost prohibitive to do: if running 24 hrs at an intensity of 5, I can’t imagine how many scent cartridges you’d run through per month).

Bottom line: great scent but don’t really know if this truly worth the initial or on-going cost (what is the value add here really??)– especially when many can go to Bath and Body (or elsewhere), get a similar scent that will run for 24 hrs/day AND last 30 days for MUCH less.

I really love the Pura concept – a WiFi controlled scent diffuser that you can operate and control from your phone and that offers scents from your favorite candle makers like Nest??? Brilliant! But I have been disappointed in the product so far.

To be clear, it operates as advertised. I have had no issues with technically getting it to work. My issue is with the scent and strength. I have tried Archipelago Big Sur and Napa and Nest Hearth scents so far.

These are scents that I would typically love in candle form. However, on the Pura, they all smelled pretty similar to me and the strength of the oil diffused is so strong it makes my head hurt (and yes, I do have it turned down to the lowest setting).

I also accidentally got a bit of oil on my hands as I changed out the scents and OMG – my hands smelled like a cheap perfume counter for days. Seriously made me nauseous. I will continue to try the Pura because, frankly, it was expensive and I bought a handful of additional scents so I still want to continue to try and see if I have a different result using different scents.

I’m currently only turning on my Pura for an hour or so max a day and the next scent I’m going to try is Nest Moroccan Amber which is my favorite candle. So hopefully I’ll have a better experience. Definitely do not handle the oils – particularly when changing them out – without gloves!.

I purchased two plug in warmers with two lavender and one patchouli spa oils, I LOVE them! My family is very pleased with the scents as well! I love that I can adjust the warmer to let out more or less scent at a time.

I have both set to the lowest setting and the aroma still fills a large area! I have been looking for years for natural air fresheners for our home. We try not to use candles because they are a fire hazard and breathing them while lit makes my lung ache, and my husband also doesn’t like incense because they too are a fire hazard.

So we have just been going through cans of organic disinfecting spray to kill odors, which is not good either since aerosol cans are bad, and the sprays are expensive. The natural plug in makes our home smell pleasant all day, and honestly I think has a calming affect.

I have been a Bath & Body Works customer for nearly 15 years. I always purchased the wallflowers to scent my home. I loved their scents, but I could only smell them for two days or so until I replaced the next wallflower.

I came across a recommendation to purchase Scent Fill scents rather than Bath & Body Works wallflowers. Scent Fill is healthier and has a wide variety of natural scents. I received my package, which was packaged with care, and tried out my first plug-in.

I still smell the scents in my home, and it has been a few weeks! I do not ever plan on going back to Bath & Body Works and I am now on a mission to test out every scent that Scent Fill has to offer.

I cannot tell which one though because it was the 3rd one I used and the labels are off AND because I have been unable to see which scents were in my original order (I cannot get back in there).

My suggestion is to include scent label stickers to the bottom of the bottle so that they are discrete but when you are out of one you love you can go order it. Another idea is a refill kit, OR a return label so that I can send these bottles back to you.

I was skeptical at first because I have purchased less expensive diffusers in the past and they could not fit the bill of filling the room with scent! But the AroMini is amazing and believe it or not, I can smell it wafting up the stairs too! I love the fact that it does not require water.

I clean my house diligently and yet whenever we would come in after being away all day, it’s just smelled odd. Maybe it’s cuz it’s an old house but it was hard to keep that fresh clean smell going for long.

Now I have my new AroMini by my desk and I smell clean, fresh lavendar flowers all day long. I love how I can leave it on but set it low so that it isn’t blowing continuously. Just enough so the whole house smells great.

Got my mini a couple weeks ago and it has been great! The smell is amazing. We have a fairly small first floor and I keep it on low. So it gets most of the main area, but not into the downstairs bedroom.

Which I don’t think I would really expect it too. I could turn it up I’m sure if I really wanted. But I plan to get another for the upstairs, as well as our Airbnb’s. Expensive but so far I believe it’s worth the price!.

The first scent I tried was Linen. I did not care for it, it reminded me of the soap and then dryer smell of doing laundry. I then bought the Lavender and Chamomile and I loved it!! The scent permeates throughout the first level of my house and it isn’t overpowering.

You walk into my house through the mudroom and you immediately smell a lite, clean smell. Nowhere can you smell my boys sport bags or our dog. It is better than having a scented candle burning all day! I definitely will be trying other scents.

I love the smell of my house when using Air Wick/Lysol Fresh Linen Plugins! I’ve never really been a fan of the fresh linen scent, but the Air Wick Plugins smell amazing, and my whole house smells clean and fresh! These don’t last quite as long as other products that I have tried, but I like the scents that Air Wick has much better than others on the market.

I have already purchased these in the past, and I continue to purchase them because they are highly scented, and I can put one in each room to keep my whole home smelling great. I would definitely recommend these to friends, and family, and I purchased some for my mother so that she can enjoy them as much as my family and I do!.

I’ve been a long time user of the Air Wick scented oil refill plug ins for some time now and I think the fresh linen is my favorite scent. It smells like clothes that have been hung outside to dry. It’s a fresh, clean smell.

It’s very fragrant and just on the lowest setting, I can smell it throughout my entire house. I always get so many compliments on this fragrance. I definitely recommend as you won’t be disappointed at all.

Reed diffusers are always so much more lasting than normal plug in room fragrances. We use these at work in the toilets, and they really take out all the smells. And replace it with a beautiful hint.

Plus they’re lovely as a room decoration.

I like these reed diffusers. The scent lasts pretty long compared to others and they are a nice alternative to candle. My only word of advice is be careful if you have really ‘curious’ kitties (or children) these tend to get knocked over easily.

I love these because the scent really last. Want to get the most smell for your dollar then this is the way to go. And it still looks cute in the rooms. Only annoying thing is if you have pets and they knock them over.

The Spring Diffuser set is very nice but, even on sale is was way to expensive but, I like diffusers and wanted to try it. As with most diffusers, the more reeds the strong the sent so, you would have to decide for yourself as to how many reeds to use.

I thought the scent was nice but, a bit overpowering for me. Like I said, it’s a nice set and scent is fine for me because I figured out how many reeds to use with it for our LR. If I had a complaint it’d be because of the price.

I would suggest anyone wanting to use this to find a store that offers them and get a scent you know you’ll love.

I strategically place the diffusers throughout my house (bathrooms, living room and family room). The scent is great! The scent permeates throughout the entire house. Although the price may seem steep, it is well worth it.

I’ve purchased cheaper diffusers and they are a waste of money because you don’t smell anything.

The diffuser was on sale: but the fragrance ans intensity is very weak. After two weeks. It barely offers any aroma and I would definitely not buy it or recommend it.

I’ve ordered this before, several times. The liquid was brown so the flower turned light brown. I ordered the same scent this time but the liquid was white so the flower stayed white. It’s a different shaped flower too.

I ordered 4 this time so I didn’t run out. I liked the original ones I bought better. So, it was disappointing….

I fell in love with these diffusers years ago. Our local retailer closed so I started shopping on line. I receive so many complements on them. They make perfect gifts. The most recent one I bought I mailed to Germany.

I definitely thought it would be an overwhelming scent given the oil being out in the open, but its not too much. I almost wanted it to be overbearing because I planned to put this in the bathroom that we all use, but it’s just the right amount of scent without giving people a headache.

I can also stand at the sink and brush my teeth, or be at the counter blowing out my hair or doing my girls’ hair without getting nauseous from the oil the way I do with those plug-in type air fresheners.

This scent is one of my favorites. I don’t know what scents are in it but it’s a delightful scent. Subtle but definitely noticeable. On top of that, it does a fantastic job keeping my bathroom smelling fresh and breathable, not stuffy and filled with smoke like it used to.

My neighbors smoke and it comes through the walls in my bathroom and my son’s room. It’s horrible. So these Scent Fills help tremendously! I’m very pleased with this scent. I will continue to purchase the Smoke Away.

It also helps to keep my bathroom fresh in general from everyday use of a large family. So, it’s great for multiple uses. My husband loves the way our bathroom smells. But just a heads up, this scent (like the 100% Natural scents) does not last as long as other Scent Fill scents so purchase accordingly.

This scent ran out quicker just like my other 100% Natural scents like I expected because Scent Fill lets you know that in the description of the 100% Natural scents. My other scents like Lilac, Starry Night and Fir have outlasted this scent and my 100% Natural scents by far and they’re all on the lowest setting per recommendations from other customers.

However, this scent works incredibly well so I will continue to purchase but will just purchase extra to have on hand. 🙂 Hope this helps!.

So happy to have discovered these air fresheners. I have pets and was wary of using the chemical filled products out there. I purchased the “Fresh” and the “Pet Fresh” deodorizers and both are wonderful, subtle scents that seem to clear the air and never leave a heavy, overwhelmingly perfumed odor behind.

I am looking forward to trying some of the other offerings as well. Can’t recommend these enough! If you are considering a purchase – just do it!! I will never purchase Glade, Air Wick etc again. These are similarly priced and SO much better!.

I read allllll the reviews and went back and forth between the deodorizer options before deciding on the “General Deodorizer – Fresh” scent. It turned out to be really good! The scent is indeed fresh.

kind of a light perfume my fragrance but not necessarily feminine. It’s not quite floral, not quite soapy, but somewhere right in the middle. My recently purchased house is almost 40 years old and needs some help clearing the stale air.

We also sit on a crawlspace that makes the house smell musty. This fragrance did the trick! I’ve tried several fragrances and this one neutralized the odor better than any other. If your house already smells clean and fresh without added fragrance, then any of the others are great.

But, if your house is older, musty, etc. this is the one to pick! You will not believe the difference!.

This diffuser is one of the best ones I’ve ever purchased. It is constructed of metal material and it is heavy duty. You do not use water and don’t need to worry about running out water in order for the diffuser to work.

It uses a self contained bottle of diffuser oil that last approximately one month, but it depends on what percentage and how long you run the diffuser. If set the level of intensity of smell you want and run it all the time it will last about three weeks.

I used mine for two weeks straight and began using the timer only when I was home or turned it on before quest arrived. Don’t think about the price because the other diffusers you buy only last a few months before clogging up and stop working all together.

hahah so yeah I guess we can credit it to to this. It’s also very sleek and looks cool in your home, can be used aesthetically. heavy product, you can tell it’s made with good quality materials. oils are legit (only prob is oils are pricey) but the smell is undeniable.

The product looks clean and modern and the smell is fresh and not overly strong. It is good for area where a light, clean scent is needed.

I like using air fresheners in my bathrooms to help eliminate odors, and so far, these are helping. The plug in warmer has adjustable grey knob on the top that has 5 settings that goes from a little scent to a lot of scent.

After plugging this in my bathroom, the scent is very noticeable. It does have like an apple cinnamon scent to it, almost kinda like an apple pie scent, which smells lovely. On the largest setting, the strongest scent lasts about 7-10 days.

However, the scent slowly starts to fade quicker on the largest setting. After so many days, if kept on the largest opening, the scent seems to almost be half as strong, so I would recommend keeping it on a lower setting for the scent.

Also, I would recommend using these in smaller areas unless using multiple of the same scent then you can use them in larger, open areas.

I have been an avid Airwick user for years. My favorite scent is the Apple Cinnamon Medley, hands down so much better then similar scents by Glade. However, about a year and a half ago I started noticing within a few days after plug-in the oil would start to thicken and get clumpy and would not absorb into the wick or produce scent like it should.

I thought it was a bad batch but have tried periodically using different batches and the same thing happens making me think it is due to a formula change? Sadly I no longer use due to this.

I really enjoyed the AirWick plug in starter kit. I received apple cinnamon and boy. does it smell so good! What I liked most about this product is that it has five different settings on it for the dispenser to release the scent.

He starter kit comes with three refills and the dispenser. What is awesome is that if you have this on low setting, one of the refills will last for 60 days! Now, that’s a pretty long time. The scent takes you to the caribbean.

Smells so good! A great product to own and have. You can put it just about anywhere you have an outlet. Bathroom, kitchen, living room, dining room, bedroom, etc. Put one in every room and the scent of apple cinnamon will be covered in your household.

I could not have designed a more perfect scent charm to match my bathroom. I have many home decor items from Pioneer Woman but never thought to look for a scent charm. Not only is it a lovely little bird but it provides a soft glow that night lights don’t provide.

I have never used a fragrance diffuser plug-in before but this was very easy to set up. I enjoy the light fragrance it releases almost as much as the charm itself.

Charlie is so cute! I have it in my kitchen. Lights up as a nightlight too. Fragrance isn’t too strong and doesn’t fill my whole kitchen. I have the Charlie wax warmer as well. I like the fragrance oil diffuser better.

The wax warmer doesn’t light up very much. Small area for the wax cube as well but I like it as a figurine. Love dogs and these items make me happy.
