Very disappointed that armrest cushions failed after just 2 weeks. Makes the chair rather uncomfortable. The hydraulic lift cylinder also went bad within a year, leaving the chair sunk at it’s lowest setting.

Chair would be nice if they could get their quality control together. Seat bottom arrived with tape glue stuck to the seat that would not come off, plus a section of the “leather” surface had pulled-off with the tape; manufacturer sent a new seat base (& back for some reason) to make it right.

However, upon further assembly, I noticed scratched & chipped parts (had to have happened during manufacturing, because the parts were wrapped well), & a ridiculous change to the location of the “L” & “R” markings for the arms, where they have them formed into the metal on the outsides now, NOT on the insides (like the manual shows) hidden from view after assembly! And yes, I have the arms on the correct sides; it would not fit together properly if you put them on the wrong sides (seatback would not be able to bolt-on, as longer bolts would be necessary).

So now I have a raised, sideways “L” & a “R” on the lower parts of the arms that _is_ visible/noticeable; not sure I am going to keep the chair.

DONT BELIEVE THIS CHAIR IS EASY TO ASSEMBLE. One of the reasons I bought this chair was because of a serious spinal injury that I have and I am single. I needed an excellent chair with support though for working on my PC.

This chair is a NIGHTMARE to assemble, and I have put MANY together. DONT TIGHTEN ANYTHING UNTIL ITS ALL TOGETHER AND WATCH THE DIRECTIONS CLOSE. That being said: OMGOSH this chair is AWESOME COMFORTABLE.

I bought it because of all the research I did on good office chairs for larger men. I kept reading that lumbar support is one of the hallmarks of a good office chair. So, I bought this chair because of the great reviews and lumbar support.

The lumbar support was awkward at first. It kept pushing me forward. I told myself that maybe I’ve never had good lumbar support and don’t know what it feels like. I chalked it up to just being something new I need to get used to.

After probably a year of fighting it, I finally got fed up. The lumbar support was never going to get better. Since the chair was way beyond any return warranty. My DIY instinct took over. I looked at the chair to see what I can do.

The solution was super easy. I just removed the lumbar support. Since I put the chair together, it was easy to take it apart and reassembled it without the lumbar pad. As I recollect, I just removed the lumbar pad—the bracket which held the pad was still needed to reassemble the chair.

The only concern I had, was the bracket sticks up a little between the back and the seat. But I’ve been using the chair for years and have never felt it, and it’s never been an issue. That was the ticket to making this the best office chair I’ve ever had.

I know I bought the wrong chair. I listened too much to reviews without fully understanding what they were actually talking about. Apparently, I didn’t need that much lumbar support. But, I didn’t know, and it was a learning experience.

Luckily it wasn’t a total waste of money since it was easily fixable. I say, remove the lumbar support if it’s bugging you.

If I cold give this chair negative stars I would. It is miserably uncomfortable. I very carefully checked the specs prior to purchasing to make sure the seat depth would be sufficient. And it probably would be if not for the so-called lumbar support cushion.

Because of that cushion I can’t sit far enough back in the seat to be in a comfortable position. The lumbar cushion is hard and unyielding and pushes me forward to the extent I can’t even rest my back against the chair! I’m bracing myself not slide off and I’m getting horrible cramps in my thighs and lower back.

The only reason I haven’t returned it is because it’s already assembled and I can’t get it out of my house and into the car. I certainly expected better from Serta!.

The lumbar Support is attached to the bottom seat cushion. Hurts your back. If you even remotely tilt forward this lumbar support moves forward and bends the back in a terrible position. The back rest is very short and no ability to just rest your head back which is terrible for long long long days in front of the computer.

These two things will make you exhausted sitting which is the reverse of what is necessary. Sorry, this is a hard pass computer desk chair and being returned. Assembly isn’t terrible at 30 minutes or so.

The second most impressive part is the back with how vertically straighter it is compared to most ergonomic chairs that angles too far back. This chair is best for tasking, allowing to view the monitor in a straight horizontal line while sitting upright.

Aside from the first / second day of use with how rough the mesh was on my bare back skin, it’s now worn down to feel comfortable even while I’m sitting down shirtless. Third nice surprise is how the core frames that’s the foundation of the seat and the part that connects to the back seat are made of steel, allowing for a rigid built.

I would have complimented the armrests, but unfortunately the left and right arms are misaligned at all levels, with the left arm being half a notch lower than the right. I found this was due to the steel frame bar connecting the two armrests at the lower back of the chair was manufactured in such a way that it’s not uniformly curved (it has a slight smiley face shape).

It’s not obvious until I measured the height of the left & right sides to notice a difference and there’s nothing that the manufacturer could do to fix it. The armrests aren’t has hard as most office chair’s I’ve sat on before, but harder than I like.

It only slight hurts my elbows at certain specific positions, but otherwise it’s fine on my arms on all situations. The downside to the armrests are how easily they move laterally (left and right) when not intended to, especially since I’m use to moving the chair by the armrests, and now I have to hold by the top of the back to avoid accidental adjustments.

There should be a setting to lock or prevent them from moving them left & right. The biggest weakness of the chair, is rather the optional headrest that I ordered. It’s practically useless because of how forward it forces my head relative to the back.

Ideally, it should have been flushed and aligned with the back. This made feel dizzy/nauseating when sat with the headrest for a short of period of time. I tested the headrest at all levels and all angles within each level, but unfortunately it cannot prevent this problem.

The only possible workaround is a do-it-yourself where some object is placed between the back frame and the headrest screw hole to provide more spacing, but it would never be as solid.

So far, a great chair. Excellent adjustability, though it lacks seat inclination adjustment. Durability, maybe an issue if you recline a lot; the arms that connect the backrest to the seat are all plastic and that gives me some doubts.

I not only recline alot but sometimes snooze on it. Well, time will tell; so far it looks and feels solid.

We really love this chair. We purchased it to replace a worn out 10-year old massage recliner. We actually prefer this to our previous recliner. It has a much smaller footprint than our previous recliner, but is equally comfortable.

When I was looking for a kneeling chair I researched a lot of options. That’s what I do. I over-research every purchase over $50. By the time I ran across this one I knew it had the general design I wanted, but at less than 1/2 the price of comparable options, which made me skeptical.

The shear number of 5-star reviews on this site, and lack of reviews anywhere else, made me more skeptical. However, I had back pain, knew from experience this type of chair would help, and the site promised free shipping, so I decided to give it a try.

I’m shocked at how great it turned out! The chair is sturdy, easy to assemble and comfortable. I have an L-shaped desk arrangement and pivot regularly. It’s easy to shift direction, and the design let’s me fidget and change position so there’s no fatigue in my shins (like with the chair I owned previously).

I love this chair!.

Solid, sturdy chair. Lives up to it’s claim of being able to support heavy people comfortably for hours at a time. Assembly was straight forward and easy to understand for me and I’m certainly not a handyman.

Parts and hardware clearly labeled. Chair is heavy so if you’re not comfortable dealing with that individually arrange help in advance of assembly. Personally, this is the best chair I’ve used that’s designed for heavy people.

Design matches the purpose. I would definitely recommend it.

This chair is not for you if you want a wide seat space. 22″ is not wide. The arms are barely tall enough to reach my elbows and I’m 5’9″. The arms are also don’t extend forward enough to rest your elbows on when typing, making this virtually useless as an actual office chair unless you like having shoulder carriage strain from your arms hanging all day.

The chair does not recline. It says it does, but you have to physically continually push the chair back to keep it reclined making that a non-feature. The chair actively tries to lean forward due to design.

The seat back is narrow. There isn’t much of anything I like about this chair. If my old one didn’t leave you looking at the ceiling when you sit in it I would just drag it back in here and use that.

This is equivalent to buying one of those uncomfortable task chairs that everyone hates.

I love how plush the chair is. It’s definitely wide and sturdy for larger folks. Assembly was easy enough to do by yourself, so long as you have the time. My only gripe is that It has limited adjustment capabilities.

Has wierd limbar angle for people that prefer to sit upright. Could just be me, I may have to reach out to learn how to adjust the chair. Otherwise, very comfortable for long periods. I’m 6’3″ 275 lbs for reference.

The Chair is truly a zero gravity chair which is great! The leather is of good quality and comfortable. Beware the manual version meaning manually reclining and then manually going back upright is not the easiest.

To do this you have to have leverage with your hands and the arm rests which are screwed into the frame and could possibly cause the arm rest to be pulled off the frame (screws loosened/stripped)! In my opinion poor design.

This pair of antigravity chairs make number 7 and 8 in our collection. We have a summer room and a winter room where we spend our time X two houses. Just can’t sit any where else. We got our first two many years ago and they were a Godsend to my aching (retail store owner) days of standing on hard floors.

We are in our 60s/70s now and the chairs are even more important. Gave on to our son in law who is a builder. He LOVES it too. Great to know there is a place in your own home where you can get absolute relief.

It’s extremely comfortable and relaxing as billed. Easy to assemble too. I was a little startled by the size of it. You do give exact measurements, but I had a zero gravity chair before that fit in a particular space and I was assuming this would do the same.

Unfortunately not. It is very tall when upright and presents a bit of barrier entering the room. But the furniture has been moved around, and I am getting used to its size. Once I am in it the size doesn’t matter anyway.

The chair has a fabulous motor to operate a very comforting and relaxing chair. The positions with the lumber area as well as the leg area are incredible for my body’s kinestheology The hair trigger touch joy stick which alters the positions feels fragile.

Meaning I hope that it does not break. My chair is a month old so it may take time to know if it will continue to function properly. You must have the memory foam or you are wasting the comfort of it.

The memory foam is extra as is the leather which seems ridiculous. It took three visits from a company to set it up with little recourse except to make yourself available for each visit until the chair was set up properly.

The company selling the chair was helpful in communicating with the company that ultimately set it up. I am enjoying using it and it’s functionality is very relaxing. It is a very handsome looking chair so it fits with my other furniture.

I had a cheaper version of this zero gravity chair for ten years and finally spent the money to get the luxury model. Absolutely love it. I upgraded with the memory foam and so glad I did. This should last for the next 15 years.

The only drawback is that I am only 5′ 4″ and my arms are a bit short to reach the manual level to bring the chair back up. Looks beautiful, though, and not much to deal with.

I use this chair as my everyday home office chair. I’m a software engineer so I spend a lot of my time at a computer and I’ve found that with previous chairs I begin to get a sore lower back after around 3 hours.

In addition the foam padding on my previous seat wore down after 4 years of use. It’s not really visible, but you can certainly feel that the padding no longer provides the same level of comfort for extended use.

At work we use the Herman Miller Aeron chairs, and I’ve found those to be exceptionally comfortable. I spend 10 hours a day sitting in those chairs and they were certainly the best workplace chair I’d ever used.

With the recent shift to working from home I found myself working from my home office for those 10 hour per day shifts, and so needed a new chair. Rather than spend two to three hundred on an OK chair that might last a couple of years I decided to invest in a quality chair.

While looking into the Aeron’s I noticed the Embody and ultimately chose that based on: great reviews, better stying/color selection and I was also drawn to the “spine” back. I have to say after eight months I am VERY happy with my choice.

Sure it was expensive, but with a 12 year warranty I expect to get a LOT of use out of this chair. Working from home is likely to be common even after the pandemic has wound down, and in my line of work I expect to be working 2-3 days a week from home.

Given that, and the money saved from commuting I really believe spending big for an exception chair in an investment in my own well being. The chair back is great, I can stretch and recline and the chair back molds to mine.

The adjustable recline tension knob is also well conceived, allowing very fine grain control that let’s me recline in those scenario’s where I’m watching an online seminar/talk/conference. Since having the chair I haven’t experienced any of the minor back pain, and significant butt fatigue that I was suffering from my prior chair.

Five stars – worth every dollar.

Fabric: Sync Everglade – tight & soft knit, like a fave shirt. I know this is a well designed chair that will serve for years. But it sure is hard to cross-shop now, so I can’t say if a LeapV2 would be better for me.

I got this since for all the money, I would at least be getting a solid option. I went for all the shiny extras (irrelevant to ergo) since I was going to be stuck with it anyway. I’m WFH and our rocking/kneeling chair was great for motion but unsupportive & bad for computing.

I appreciate the HM vision & feel is an opinionated design to encourage healthy positions rather than the Gesture, whose pitch is to support you in “”any position. “” It looks good, moves easily. No distracting sounds, yes it sometimes makes trivial ones when you move.

I guess it’s comfortable, only when I get up do I realize how long I’ve been sitting. There’s certainly the option for motion in the chair, but I’m looking forward to my standing desk for variety. My tailbone is bony & sticks out, so it’s difficult to sit fully into low back of the chair.

I have max backfit to get all the lumbar support, but the base curve starts very low and I have to push my hips down & back into it to get the most support for the rest of my back. As I lean past the second recline level, I feel my spine arch off the back, and wish there was more support.

I may pick up a cheap mesh lumbar support and see if that helps. I already located my local HM dealer/svc center to get lift swapped to the low height range one. I’m 5″”7′ but even at the lowest height my knees have a greater than 90¬∫ angle, and I can feel strain if I work in a deep recline.

I also got cosmetic arm plugs in case I go armless. The arms do not go as low as my thighs. I have long arms and really want a low desktop as close to me as possible. (Sadly low-height was not an online option here.

I really should have emailed/chatted various places about pricing on a full-out special order. ) Fully Assembled costs the same, just do that.

Needed to upgrade my office chair to one that improves my posture and can be precisely adjusted to my body shape. This is the chair. It’s not easy to dial it in to meet your exact needs, and it takes some time to get used to and some fiddling, because it’s so unlike any chair you’ve probably used before.

It can also change your work posture for the better, which at first can seem less comfortable, but once your body gets used to it, you’ll know it’s better. How? Well, for me, all of my hip and back problems gradually disappeared after switching to this chair.

No more strained neck and shoulder muscles from incorrect positioning, and no more weird back strain from a seat back tension that you just cant get right. My only gripe with this chair is that the seat could use a bit more cushioning.

And Im sure Im not the only one to figure this out, because Herman Miller now makes a logitech cobrand version of this chair, which, as far as I can tell, the only major difference is that it is cushioned better for long hours at the gaming PC.

Well, office people put in long hours too, so, perhaps eventually they will make that chair customizable, because for now it is all black, so if you want designy chair, you have to stick with the original.

Heavy use in a busy optometric office. Only had them about a month, but like them a lot and so do the patients.

Sturdy and comfortable, using in a patient room. Color is bright and cheerful!
