20 Best Home Car Wash Soap (2023 Updated)

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY. This just doesn’t supply enough foam. I even put in 4 oz. of concentrate, where the instructions state to add only 1 oz. I still got a few foams, but at 4 times the amount directed, it was just not very much.

I put 2 stars since it did provide some foaming, it wasn’t a complete failure. But just don’t waste your money.

I have struggled washing autos for over 50 years. The biggest part of my angst wash which car wash to use to prevent spots and having to chamois the vehicle dry before the hot southern sun did. After buying a totally blacked out pickup truck I broke down and purchased Rain-x Spot Free car wash.

I’m a believer now. After washing my new baby I just sat back with a cold one and let the sun go ahead and dry the truck. VIOLA! No spots! Thanks for making a product that cuts my washing time in half.

It is a little tricky to get the spotless finish. You soap it up, scrub as required, and the tricky part is the rinse. You have to watch to see that all of the bubbles are gone but stop while the rinse is still coming off in a sheet.

If you continue to rinse until you see droplets, it will leave spots.

I’ve used Mega Foam in the past but wenot away from it when I began to do more rinse-less washes. However I’ve started using it again as a pre-cleaner for my rinse-less washes and the amount of foam it produces is amazing.

Now some takeaways are that I’m using a 1. 1mm orifice in my foam cannon and I recommend using 3oz as opposed to the 2oz amount that most people use. It provides a thick heavy foam that holds well on both horizontal and vertical surfaces.

I primarily use it when I have to wash in direct sunlight as it holds up long enough on one side while I’m washing the other. It outperforms all other Adams foams without question and I’ve yet to see.

I absolutely love this stuff, it foams well and smells amazing. If you like Adams blue car shampoo, you will love this. Like the bottle states, I only had to use 2 ounces in my foam cannon to get ultra-thick clingy foam.

I use the same amount in the bucket also with great results. And still has the same water softeners as the blue soap. It’s a little more runny of soap but I figured out it mixes better than the blue OG car shampoo which is super thick.

Buy the Mega Foam!!!.

From the moment I opened it had a very nice cherry smell. It poured nice and was not thick like others into my MTM foam canon. Sprayed it on the car and it covered my Challenger GT like snow after a Buffalo NY blizzard.

Thick and foaming pulling off all that dirt. Amazing. Even better put a little squirt in your bucket wash and foam galore.

We use this in a foam gun – easy to apply, doesn’t use much water, and we rinse very well – we use purified water from our local Culligan dealer – and we don’t even need to dry the vehicle. We keep it on hand all the time, and it is one of our staples.

We use it almost daily. Our customers are happy, especially Motorhome owners because the shine lasts up to 6 months; for our regularly cleaned fleets, each time we clean them every three weeks the shine gets better and better, and easier to clean over time.

As a Rep for two pressure washer and chemical companies I have used many foaming and non foaming car washes. While the Chemical Guys Bodywash & Wax produces a reasonable amount of foam I have had more foam from another car wash brand that I used to sell.

That’s not to say it was superior, just that the dwell time of the Bodywash &Wax wasn’t as long. Yes it does a good job and leaves a great shine.

I Excitedly bought this when it first came out and it instantly became the last Chemical Guys product that I ever bought. It was the moment I realized that none of the Chemical Guys products live up to the stories and promises that appear on the bottles.

This soap did nothing to improve hydrophobics and did nothing that any of the other 11 Chemical Guys soaps I already owned didn’t already do. I’ve since tried a dozen other ceramic soaps and this was by far the worst.

It was the only one that didn’t work. I’ve given away all of my Chemical Guys products and moved on to brands that actually work without all the inflated claims.

The media could not be loaded. To be honest, I was unable to try this remedy on my dusty car without first washing it. It’s a shock for me to put whatever it is on a dusty or dirty car and start rubbing it.

I am sure doing this will damage the paintwork. Perhaps this is my stereotype. But I must admit that I was delighted with the use of this remedy. Even my wife (she never reacts like that to a washed car) said that she looks like new.

As I said, I first washed the car in the car wash and then slowly, part by part, processed the entire body of the car. It was neither difficult nor tedious. I used two towels, the first rubbed immediately after spraying and the second rubbed for the final shine.

I have a Honda Odyssey and the bodywork took a certain amount of time. I cannot say that the NEXGEN consumption was very high. The spray works well and I haven’t used up a lot. I really liked the look of my car after processing and the feeling I get from touching the finished parts.

I have a couple of cars that I don’t want to wash with traditional methods- I don’t want water pooling in crevices, pushing dirt/pollen into recessed areas or leaving spots. These spray-wash products are so much better for garage-queen cars as we can clean them inside the garage easily.

Vintage cars with single-stage paint and modern cars with thinner, multi-stage paints with clear coats all seem to work really well with this. The UV protection is hopefully adequate, but the cleaning capability is excellent and saves the step of using two products to clean and then protect the cars.

We tried this on a 50+ year old E-Type, an 88 Countach and a one year old R8 and they all came out gleaming- and still have enough left to do another car or a few motorcycles. Water rolls right off the finish.

It might be more expensive than some other brands, but it removes the need for a two-step, two product approach. We tried a 50+. 30+ and relatively new car and it did well on all of them. Daily drivers will still get the traditional outside car wash, since they get exposed to more road grime.

My first test with this product was on a small car that was dusty with a light dirty look. I sprayed on a 24-inch area spot and wiped off with a microfiber towel. The paint felt slippery when finished and the 24-inch area had a shine to it.

My next test was to wash the car with car wash soap and dry. I then applied the Nexgen product the same as the first test but sprayed the whole car in segments until finished. It certainly gave the paint a shiny look.

The bottle is still 98 percent full. It didn’t take a lot of sprays but it seems expensive when you calculate by the ounce. My thoughts are when you cannot wash your car by hand or at a carwash this is a handy next choice and is a good product.

+ It makes strong suds that dont fizzle away in the bucket. Even when I am washing a very dirty car. + I have a vehicle that has a wrap applied (not the car pictured) and this soap is actually recommended by the 3M film manufacturer.

– It does leave plenty of spots. I have never met a car wash soap that dries spotless, though many claim to be so. Is there such an invention? I highly doubt it. This soap is pretty good, even for delicate car wraps.

I will continue to use it, unless I find something better.

I purchased this to use with my foam cannon, and it works wonderfully. People spend a lot of cash on the $15-$20 a bottle shampoos when there is no need. In my review I included some pictures that show how much foam was generated on the lowest, medium, and highest concentration settings with my AR foam cannon.

I only filled up the bottle about 60-70% with shampoo and even after coating the car multiple times still had 50% left. I normally only fill it up 30% of the way with shampoo which I never see others do, and fill the rest with warm water and just crank it up on high and have no issues.

Now do not think this all you need to make your car shine, I still use a quick detailer to give it that final gloss. Sometimes use a mitt to get the hard stuck on debris at the bottom of the car. Foaming a car I would say makes it 80% clean, the rest you still need to touch up, its great if your in a hurry.

I got the 32 ounce container should be good for a lot of washes. Don’t freak about the size. Figure a typical bottle of hair shampoo is 16 ounces, so this bottle is like two of them. But you only need to use a little bit -1 to 3 ounces for a gallon of water.

I used a little bit and got a lot of suds. Applied with a noodle-mitt, rinsed and then dried with a microfiber drying towel and cloths. Came out clean and shiny.

The new car is outstanding. I use it on a fleet of six (6) funeral vehicles. Family asked or comment about how good they look. I am proud to say Mothers. Thanks Gene

I felt it has helped me to wash my car faster! This shampoo helps to loosen and drag the dirt downwards when you clean, then just use water to rinse the car and it’s almost done. I felt like the shine on the car was little more too.

And since it’s PH balance you don’t have to worry about how it’s going to affect the paint and other parts.

I have been using armour all products for as long as I can remember. Armour All has serious cleaning power and capability. My Ford escape sits under a nuisance maple tree and gets covered in sticky sap to where it’s at the brim of destroying my vehicle.

Once a week I use armour all and it brings that sticky maple substance off so easily, as to where we have to scrub with brushes when using dish soap. I am more than impressed and will continue to use armour all! I definitely recommend.

We pride ourselves in regularly maintaining our home (and things in the home) since a clean home just makes us feel so much happier. I can be a bit picky in products sometimes since I like low cost and more or the natural side most of the time.

I do compromise and cars are one area this happens. This product definitely held up to our standards. We used just a small amount of wash and were able to get 2 cars done. It seemed to clean away the dirt well on all areas of the cars.

We don’t air dry the cars but instead dry them with towels for a spotless finish. So I can’t comment on how it’ll look dried without that step. I can say that after driving it in the rain, we didn’t end up with big spots all over it.

The smell was nice and I the product didn’t mess with my sensitive skin which is a plus.

This armor all car wash works wonderful on my chevy Silverado. Its a bright red so im always looking for anything that doesnt leave streaks or dirt packed on my truck. This has been the first thing that left my truck streak free and with a beautiful shine.

When I poured it into the bucket and went to use it I was worried it would leave that sticky fill that some leave but to my suprise it didnt. This puts a new meaning to a little bit goes a long way. My ole red is looking like a brand new Silverado now.

She is shiny and clean. I also used it on my tires and it helped to break down the old brake fluid that was splattered all over my wheels to make them shiny and chrome and black again. I plan on using it with in the next week on my wife’s minivan but waiting for a little warmer weather.

I’m not sure if I should be disappointed or not. Well, I kind of am but not sure if I should be. This stuff smells good and my car comes out very clean, but what I am missing is foam and bubbles. I use the two bucket method instead of a foam cannon.

I put the recommended amount in a bucket and fill with water using a hose and spray nozzle. That produces plenty of bubbles and foam in the bucket but when I take the wash mitt to the car, it’s pretty much just water.

Someone mentioned lubricity in a previous review, and maybe I have plenty of that but virtually no foam or bubbles. Perhaps I purchased the wrong product because the previous shampoo I used (it was pink) resulted in plenty of foam and bubbles on the car itself, rather than just in the bucket.

I have tried many car shampoos out and this one was the best I have ever used! It smells like cotton candy and is also pH neutral! It provides slickness to the paint and leaves no spots behind like other shampoos.

You can also use it in a foam canon which is great since it will save you some time! I have already bought 2 gallons worth of this shampoo and I had no issues! I highly recommend this product.

I happened to drive through a road repair situation. The cutting of the roadway with a wet saw splashed passing vehicles with watered down cement. I normally use Meguiars Gold Class wash, but used Adams instead.

Wow, what a difference. Thick foamy soap floated the dirt and grime from my car, leaving an unbelievable shine. Goodbye Meguiars, hello Adam’s.

I have no idea why people are claiming this is great. Could I have gotten a bad batch? No idea. I know that I have a show car and decided to try this, as I’ve liked many of the products by CG. In fact, my polishing/buffing pads are all from CG.

However, after washing my car with this, I was devastated that my pressure washer must have broken. My car looked like it had oil streaking down over the paint. I tried to wash it again and ended up throwing away my wash mit, since it must have been contaminated somehow by the “oil infested water”.

After spending almost 20 hours stripping my car down, polishing out, re-sealing and waxing, I washed my truck. That’s where I found out it was this soap. It was stripping my wax, but in a way that was leaving the worst streaks.

Again, I love most of CG products. This stuff however, absolute disaster. Maybe it’s great for daily drivers that aren’t waxed? I don’t know. I just know that using this soap cost me so many hours in repairing the damage it caused.

This may be the worst car soap I have ever used. I bought a brand new car a few months ago and immediately put an expensive ceramic coat on it. I have only had to wash it once a month because of the coating.

The paint has stayed perfect, but recently I ran out of soap so I picked up the Chemical Guy Citrus Wash and Gloss. I used one ounce with a 5 gallon bucket and followed the directions meticulously, I’m very particular with washing my car.

This soap left a VERY visible haze on the entire car, that i subsequently spent two hours trying to get off. It just refuses to come off. It’s like it smears but doesn’t lift. I’m going to have to do a full isopropyl alcohol wipe down and hope to God that gets it off, otherwise this soap just singlehandedly ruined my paint.

You can see in the pictures where i tried to clean a portion of the windshield and it still refuses to come up. Thank you Chemical Guys, for making this catastrophically bad soap. My advice to anyone reading this is that if you like your car, just stick with Meguiar’s Gold Class.

Not sure if it is related to my hard water, but I followed the suggested dilution rate, maybe even added a bit more solution to my bucket of water than recommended, but it was still pretty watery. Small black gnats that hang around my home loved the smell and flocked to my soapy car, sacrificing their lives to experience it.

Anyway, it still cleaned my car very well. Good experience despite the bugs.

Used it on my Dump truck at work at first I did not believe the hype have been using Turltle Wax Max Power but this stuff is all that an than some I used to wax truck Bi- Weekly I now do it once a month and it still gives me that show truck- shine I am looking for even on an off- road truck.

Unfortunately I couldn’t take a picture of it but definitely will next time when I test another product but this soap honestly amazed me! it worked even better than I expected cleaned well and gave me a amazing shine glossy reflection on my Paint for sure !.

Well here’s the truth. The product was recommended to me. I purchased what I thought I would need and like. However, living in Maine you have to work around the weather. It is the weekend after we received the product and we are getting snow today.

Anywhere’s from 12″-20″. I do not have a heated garage. Therefore I will be waiting for a clear day when I can try your product of my Lincoln. Thank you. I’ve heard good things about it.

The best maintenance soap on the market. And it’s also a great prep soap to use to get all the old waxes/sealants and oils off before coatings. And it’s cheap and goes a long way. Only need a cap and a half for a bucket.

And it also foams really nice in a foam cannon. Which saves me time washing vehicles that only were dusty and don’t need a contact wash. And the absolute icing on the cake is you can let it dry on the paint in direct sunlight and it will wash right off with no stains.

Idk what these guys are doing to their products to make them so good at such an affordable price, but keep it up!.

Outstanding and very reasonably priced product. Really not a fan of any of these wax and ceramic infused soaps these days. All you need is a solid ph balanced soap with good lubrication and good cleaning power.

This is exactly what you need for helping maintain your vehicle cosmetically, coated or not.

Don’t think too much of this. I bought it for my Harley after first use it’s left my wheels with a white film on them. When I wipe them they look black and shiny but after 2 minutes it dries looking white.

I’ve attempted to wipe them clean with 3 different clean microfiber cloths but there staying white. Seems to have left a film in places I can’t reach on my frame and duco as well. Not impressed. Better off buying,,, I mentioned another product that Supercheap refuse to sell so they wouldn’t publish my review, I’ve removed the superior product name so I trust this attempt will be published?.

I have a pretty new car and have been going through different products for waterless wash. I’ve been lucky so far with Shine Armor and Chemical Guys Eco Smart RU. I figured I’d try Maguiar’s out since I’ve seen it on multiple top lists.

Right out of the bottle it is incredibly easy to use. And smells quite pleasant. The shine it gives is very noticeably slick. In fact it may be better than Chemical Guys. I can’t say how long it will last since I’ve only used it a day so far.

Now I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. So rain and other harsh weather conditions aren’t really much of a concern. My car is usually in an enclosed garage, and usually only outdoors when I go shopping.

So it won’t be getting much sap or salt from fog or ocean. So I do expect it to be a durable shine with some dusting off. It does offer more bang for the buck compared to Chemical Guys and Shine Armor.

You really can’t go wrong with it. I would recommend this for light to moderate dirt and dust, not for straight up mud.

I was a little sceptical about using a waterless product however videos I watched and reviews I read showed this was a good product. I spent the extra money to buy a reputable brand. So far o have used this 3 times on my new vehicle and I must say I was impressed.

If you follow the instructions and use clean microfibre towels for the wash I don’t think you’ll regret it. It left my vehicle clean and nice and glossy too.

I really like Meguiar’s Gold Class Car Wash and I have been using it for years. It goes a really long way with only a capful into a bucket and the suds just last and last. I have only recently started using it with my newly acquired snow cannon.

I initially tried another brand of snow cannon product not knowing at the time that Meguiar’s Gold Class Car Wash was also suitable. My Meguiar’s appeared to perform better than the other brand and was a lot thicker foam.

My only gripe which has nothing to do with Meguiar’s is that the snow cannon uses much more product as opposed to the old capful into a bucket. Guess it comes down to time and effort. I definitely give 5 stars to Meguiar’s Gold Class Car Wash.

This product exceeded my expectations! I usually purchase the ‘Armor All Car Wash Product’ but it was out of stock so I decided to give this a try since it had decent ratings and I’m glad I did! My car is a 2007 and it made my car look cleaner and shinier than ever! I’m not sure how some people aren’t getting results.

This is how I wash my car for great results: – Park car in Shade (very important). Leave car to cool if it’s been in direct sunlight. – Use two buckets (one to dip the sponge in water product and the other bucket to squeeze the dirty water into it.

Make sure to only use a few oz of product into the bucket. Afterwards, spray water into bucket so it can get nice and sudsy. I use two buckets so that I’m not pushing around dirty water around the car.

– Rinse entire car with water – Wash car in sections and rinse off immediately. Start from the roof of the car to the bottom. – Leave the wheels and rims for the very end – After washing, dry with clean towels.

This is important. This will make sure you don’t have any hard water spots Don’t take shortcuts when washing your car. If you do, you won’t get the best results! Highly recommend this product. Will be buying again in a couple of months when I run out.
