Best Holiday Books For Kids (2024 Updated)

I’m giving it 4 stars because the title of the product was misleading, for me, saying that is was a hardcover. I was in a hurry and purchased it thinking that it was a hard cover with paper pages inside and not a board book.

But, when you are not in a hurry, you will see that the description (as I read after I had given the gift) says that it is a 6×6 board book. I love Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman’s illustrations. The book came in good condition and in a timely manner.

This really is a cute book. Christmas preparations, animal friends, and a heartwarming story, what’s not to love?! It’s a board book that I’d recommend for toddlers (it’s a little long for babies unless your baby likes longer books)!.

I purchased this book online for my daughter for Christmas. It looked cute and I saw it had good reviews. After it arrived, I read it and I absolutely love it! It is such a cute book and I’m super excited to read it to my daughter.

I definitely see why it got good reviews and I now want to purchase the other one by this author that someone had mentioned. I also ordered this book to give as gifts to our other baby & kid family members.

The book came in amazing condition for it being a used one and it was very affordable. My son loves it! I will be buying from them again 🙂

This book is so very colorful for the little ones. It has very few words, which gives the reader a chance to adlib for the baby. In our experience, our little one memorized each page, excited about the fun we had adlibbing throughout the book.

He asked us to read it again and again. David, the main character, is a rascal with whom you can’t help loving. We look forward to getting other “David” books by David Shannon.

I just received this last week, I used to be a library aide in a local school, I loved all of David Shannon’s books but never cared for his “David” series. It gives too much away and gives kids too many ideas!!.

My 6 ur old daughter loves this book. She wants to read it at night. Can’t wait to get a collection of llama books going

The product was nicer than I imagined it would be. The book was hardcover and colorful. The recipient was a two year old little girl who loves the Llama Llama series. She and her parents were thrilled that she received this gift – they were not aware that there was a holiday Llama Llama out there.

I was so pleased that I found something that was a big hit. Thank you Wal-Mart for carrying this series. I found the Llama doll with thie red pajamas and holiday hat on another site and purchased it to go with the book.

My students absolutely love this book and they often want me to read it year round, not just during the holidays. The rhyming is catchy, making it a fun read. I would recommend this to a teacher or paren’t looking for a good book.

The end is cute and there is a lesson on relationships intertwined.

Our family is obsessed with Eric Carle books, but I have to admit, we did not like this one at all. I ended up returning because it just was not what we had expected. The pictures are great, but it’s just a little dull compared to his others in the story department.

I love all of Eric Carle’s books, however this one has to be my favorite. It’s the perfect book to read on a cold, snowy winter day cozied up on the couch with the kiddos.

My 17 month old needs books to be short and simple. She enjoys this one. It is giving some basic elements of the “nativity scene” and ends with baby Jesus. We also purchased the “God Made Christmas” dvd and she loves that as well.

I will probably pull this out at Christmastime the next few years for us to read off and on. I saw another review, probably on Amazon, comparing the text to the lyrics “I said the cow, etc. ” It is similar.

Each page starts with “I am/ we are ____” and has a short rhyme for a star, the shepherds, the wise men, a cow, a ram, a donkey, Mary, and ends with baby Jesus. I think this is a wonderful way to introduce Christmas to a young child.

I bought this to go with the Little People Nativity. It tells of the role each person played in the story of Christmas. The only disappointment I have with it is that it has a page for everyone except Joseph.

Joseph played an important role too, but he didn’t have his own page. Wish he did. Overall, it’s a great book! I think it is the perfect length to help my 2 yr old understand the story of Jesus birth.

I bought this for my newborn granddaughter, so I’m sure she’ll be enjoying it next Christmas. Simply written with clear, colorful pictures, it tells the story of the first Christmas in a way that is easy for little ones to understand.

For the very young, the illustrations are eye catching and sweet. I am looking forward to sharing this book with my granddaughter.

I bought this for my cousin’s boys. My children enjoyed the I Spy books, and I am happy to share them with the next generation. It’s a nice family activity!

For the past two years, I have had to take my son to see a dermatologist. Each experience has gotten harder and harder on my now seven year old. As I drug him and my other two young children down to the doctor’s office for yet again another painful experience.

I would always count on one positive thing, I Spy. Until then, I did not pay attention to these type of books. It was the first time my son had seen one of these books. This gave us time together. all of us.

a brief moment to relax, be silly and have fun. Time that he did not have to worry about the visit or think about what we would be doing. We would take that time, read and look for things. laugh and enjoy.

It made going to the doctor that much easier. knowing that we would have that to take the edge off. So. rather than buying these books. I used that opportunity to make those moments special. rather than painful or scary.

So. for Christmas this year. I decided to buy the entire set of I Spy. This book is perfect for all ages. It is a perfect opportunity as a parent to spend time with my children and have fun with them.

After finding every single item in this book. I have found that time playing and having fun looking for silly items have really built my relationship over the past two years with my boy. I bought this book as well as about a dozen others.

so that I can have that opportunity more often and share memories with each of my children as well as my son. I have enjoyed every hunt and look forward to the many more we have coming this year!.

I used to buy the I Spy books for my son as he was growing up, now I’m buying them for my grandson. A wonderful way to spend time with a special child in your life. Have fun while being challenged to find everyday objects in photographed, staged, pages.

This book arrived quickly and in excellent condition. It is an Xmas gift for my 4 yr. old granddaughter. she will LOVE IT. Her fave color is PINK and she loves to try n read on her own. This book is perfect for her as isnt a long book or very wordy.

It has a sweet moral to the story as well. I HIGHLY Recommend it for all little girls.

Every little girl loves the color pink! With this book you receive a huge wall or door hanging with the Pinkalicious theme. Its all delightful! Its a Christmas gift for my niece.

I bought this for my Grandsons first Christmas. Growing up all of us kids would sit around and listen to the story. One of my best memories!!!

The perfect Baby Shower gift. They asked to start the Baby’s library by giving your favorite book as a child. This was it. I still have MY copy and now I can share this with the new little person. The story is perfect for the young ones and the illustrations are superb.

The book listed as used and was definately shelf worn. None the less that does not detract from the story, and childern don’t seem to notice the condition of the book as much as the wonderful story they are hearing.

This was purchased for my 6 year old granddaughter. It came after Christmas so we will probably use it more later. I love all the Golden Books as the stories are written for children to understand. Thank you.

This is the best Christmas story! A must read! The delightful illustrations are essential to the plot so dont miss them. Thank you for offering the book at a wonderful price so I could start a collection for each of my children and for my friends daughters.

Carol Heyer’s illustrations are so detailed bringing you into the story with the rich colours and fine drawing details. Humphrey’s crooked and stained teeth are so life-like you can almost smell his bad breath.

After acquiring a new blanket, Humphrey gladly gives it to Baby Jesus to keep him warm. A beautiful Christmas book to treasure.

Best illustrator imaginable; After getting this I looked for other Carol Heyer books to buy for my grandchildren. Wonderful story and wonderful values.

I’m so obsessed with the construction site books. They are very clever and I was excited to see they had a Christmas version. The Christmas version seems a bit more advanced then the goodnight, goodnight, construction site book, but the age ranges are different.

I know my almost 5 year old will love this book just as much as the others.

I bought this book at an after Christmas sale and am so happy I did. My boys (2&4) love this book. The rhymes clearly link it to other books in the series and the story is so sweet. It really made an impression on my preschooler.

And the illustrations are beautiful.

Like others who have reviewed these coloring books, they are just the right size for OCC shoeboxes, but understand now why they are so inexpensive. (which is what I was looking for). Basically they are copier sheets folded in half, a cover put on them and stapled across the top.

They are printed only on one side. So when you start coloring, you get several sheets going one way, then a blank sheet. That’s when you turn the book over and start coloring from the back side. Probably gives the kids blank sheets to draw their own pictures on the blank sides.

I enjoy giving my little preschoolers a goodie bag when ending for the Christmas Break, This with a few other products I order make a wonderful treat while waiting for the big day. The coloring books are just the right size to hold their interest, leaving the cute litte pictures offered in these coloring books for Santa to enjoy.

I love love your products. The prices of the coloring books allows to me give one to the whole pre-school.

I bought this as a gift for a child who may not have gotten something if I didn’t. Love the Berenstain Bears and the Very First Christmas is the most important story. Love it < 3

My friend had this Advent Calendar for her daughter several years ago. It’s colorful, bright, fun, and easy for kids to understand. I was thrilled when I saw that BAM was still selling this. I bought 5 in order to share these with families with young children so their kids can grow up reading it each Christmas.

I’m using it with my 17 and 25 year old as well. It’s a great balance between simple reading yet enough to get the full picture of what led up to Jesus being born.

I vividly remember this book growing up. I was so excited that BAM had it! It’s still as amazing as I remembered it. It is very well illustrated, and the story of the birth of Jesus is wonderfully portrayed.

It’s a wonderful tradition to start with your own family. and economical too! You can reuse it from year to year; the books become little ornaments for your tree; and no more buying christmas chocolate advent calendars!.

This compelling way of getting the birth of Christ to the children and adults of my family and the people who were able to see it through the window as they were not able to visit normally was very effective.

By not having sweets instead telling the most wonderful story of the Birth of Christ in a straight forward manner it held the childrens interest very well. Thank you for this quality product.

I love all books by Jan Brett and this book is no different. The book is in excellent condition and I am very pleased with my purchase. My firsties will love it!

Absolutely lovely illustrations! Anyone with a love for animals, or any parent trying to develop and nourish that love in their children, will adore this beautiful book.

Magic treehouse books are such a good starter chapter book for kids. They are easy to read have pictures and are such fun adventures. My 3rd grader has been reading them since first grade and he absolutely loves them.

But not only that magic treehouse was a childhood favorite of mine also!.

I have an advanced reader in the second grade or so I am told. Supposedly he is reading third-fourth grade level. I only mention that because it may be relevant to this review. Anyways, My child loves these books.

I bought a set of 35 of the Magic Tree House books and he will very happily sit and read one of these books in about an hour. For me it was well worth the cost to advance his reading skills with prodding on my part.

I learned the value of reading skills when I was in grade school. Many educators equate reading skills with overall scholastic ability thus providing the good readers with an edge and usually more instruction time and better quality instruction time.

I also found out that the Magic Tree House books in his school library do not stay on the shelf long after being returned. It appears that they are quite popular among the grade schoolers who are ready for chapter books.

There are no illustrations in these books but the verbal imagery is quite vivid, especially to the mind of a child. I would recommend trying one of these Magic Tree House books and if your child like it then there are atleast 40 more that you know the child will like also.

The Magic Tree House series is a great series for beginning chapter book readers. Christmas in Camelot is now one of the first books in the Merlin Missions. Since they remembered the series. In this books Jack and Annie are invited to Camelot but they end up having to save Camelot.

Can they do it?.

Such a classic series about a loveable and loyal Rottweiler taking care of his family. The adventures that Carl takes is so fun and whimsical. The art style is absolutely stunning and gives you an ole’ time classic feel.

The story takes place on Christmas Eve. Carl and the baby spend time together before Santa arrives. They go out and play in the snow. They go Caroling, window shopping and napping. Such a cute story.

Highly recommend!!.

“Carl’s Christmas” by Alexandra Day is a classic in every sense of the word. It’s stood the test of time and remains relevant and touching as ever. There is no need for words with the beautiful illustrations by Alexandra Day.

It’s perfect for so many stages of reading with your child. First you point to Carl in all the pictures and then you add some story and keep adding and they want to hear it over and over and then they can tell you the story.

Go ahead and fall in love with the canine version of Mary Poppins.

This book is a classic. It has very few words, so any child can “tell” the story. The illustrations are just beautiful, which makes it a joy for both adult and child. As if all this isn’t enough, the story is witty and I do not mind taking this story out every single night.

LOVE IT. Highly recommended for all kids 7 and under.

Stupid. Weird stories. Weird activities. Not worth it. Wish I could return.

My children loved this Crayon book the most by far. There are cutouts, pop ups, letters and maps inside for them to use while reading the book. They can really enjoy the book and there is also a game that the kids can play together.

Really recommend this book for kids 3+.

Kind of a crazy storyline with random activities that won’t fit back into the book once they’re glued or taped together. Not easy to understand.

Love you lustrations and of course the story. It’s just like when I used to read my kids when they were small.

SO I WANTED TO BRING BACK THE TRUE MEANING WHY WE CELEBRATE CHRIST-MAS. MY GRANDCHILDREN AGES THE OLDEST IS 11 YEARS & THE YOUNGEST IS 16 MONTHS. THE STORY OF CHRISTMAS WAS MORE THEIR LEVEL.

I bought these books for my 18 month old granddaughter & she simply loves them. The hard cover pages are great for new learners. I would recommend these books to any parent looking for their child’s development.

My great-nephew received these as a Christmas gift and loved them. He has had them all read to him at bedtime already! Thanks!
