So Far I Love Them. Took Them On A 4 Mile Trek Through The Bluffs With Mud, Steep Rises And Decents. Lots Of Sticks And Obstacles. They Held Up And Made It. I’m Sure They Are Comparable To The Expensive Ones At Other Stores.

Light And Comfy To Hold. They Will Be Getting Used More For Sure.

This was a great purchase. I have been using these poles for about 4 months on hilly trails and they are holding up very well. Love the easy-to-adjust length and storage pouch. Great product.

I was very excited when I got my walking poles but after walking a couple of hours, the strap came off of the handle. I have emailed the company twice and no one has responded. I wish I could figure out how to fix it because it’s annoying the way it is.

I have found the product as described but found the length locking mechanism to doubtful which is a pity. The information supplied warns against over tightening as damage can be caused. During the initial walks I found that the length of the pole decreased when on an incline.

Over a longer period of time a will assess the poles in depth and contact the supplier if there is a long term problem.

I have used these poles for four years. Absolutely ideal and perfect for packing when travelling abroad. My wife insisted on having some for our next trip.

I recently bought the Black Diamond Trail Pro Shock Trekking Poles and took them for a test hike. They were recommended to me by an REI staffer because of the new SmashLock feature, which makes expanding the pole easier.

However, I was very disappointed. First of all, I gave these only one star mainly because they are very noisy when hiking in a nice quiet woods setting. You can hear a loud tapping every time you step with these poles.

You can also hear a loud vibration, caused by the SmashLock, almost like a bad guitar string whenever you tap a branch, root or rock. I think the SmashLock has some give to it which causes the pole to vibrate or move adding to the noise level issue.

I rather hear the peaceful birds singing, wildlife and leaves rustling then vibrating and tapping from trekking poles! They will probably scare the birds away. Secondly, the “Shock” feature is very minimal and hardly noticeable.

I bought this model to replace my old REI Hiker stick that has amazing shock absorption compared to these expensive poles. And third, the straps are not as comfortable as the less expensive Black Diamond Trail Ergo Cork poles.

which have a padded soft lining. I wish that the product designers at Black Diamond would read my review and consider the feedback when it is time for a redesign. The Pro Shock poles could be amazing, but they need some work to get them up to par for the price point.

I wish that they would create a version of the Trail Ergo Cork poles with the shock feature. I went back to REI and bought the Trail Ergo Cork poles and will be returning the Trail Pro Shock poles.

I bought a pair of trekking poles to replace my old pair. Very quickly, I was able to try out several of the tips by getting out on frozen ground, muddy ground, and snow-covered ground. I was quite happy with the option to adjust to the conditions.

Additionally, the height adjustment is easy enough – I’ll caution that you will want to really tighten the adjustment screw (not just the clamp) if you lean hard on your poles – but, all still easy enough to do.

The carry bag is great, and I look forward to easily strapping it on to my backpack when I next get a chance to head out on vacation. Lastly, I can’t get over how lightweight the trekking poles are. Right after purchasing them, I was headed out for a hike and grabbed the carry bag on my way out the door.

I took two steps, stopped, and actually checked to see the poles were really in the bag before I left without them (they were in the bag!). Great product.

Well, I did take a while to put the cash aside and pull the trigger on these, and I’m glad I finally did. They are well built, with fit and finish spot on. The latches to tighten and lock the sections together work very well and the fact you can’t remove the small thumb nuts from the latches was a small but very smart feature.

Imagine losing one of those on the trail. The cork handles appear to be quite substantial and feel really nice on my mitts in comparison to the rubber handles of my old aluminum poles. As for their strength and durability, we’ll have to see as the season progresses.

And I nearly forgot the nice supply of all the different pole tips and baskets. Very nice bonus.

I love that these poles fold up to a very compact size, come with straps and a bag, and can thus fit very easily into almost any daypack. On top of that, they are super easy to open and lock into place.

Fewer settings to make and places to lock than on my other telescoping poles. Now I don’t have to think twice about deciding whether to take them with me on a long hike. Cork handles also make these very comfortable on my hands.

These poles are excellent!!! Very sturdy, the grips are comfortable, and most importantly, they will not collapse on you if you put any amount of pressure on them! They stay true to your adjustments, and will hold!.

Absolute best bang for buck. High quality poles for a fraction of what you’ll see on a REI shelf. Great material, super comfortable, and also very durable. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase. I also recommend buying directly through them for a multitude of reasons.

I honestly thought I bought either of the carbon fiber poles, because they’re so light, but I actually bought the “extra strong”, or whatever the $69 one is called. Again, 100% recommend!!.

I as said in the headline, my Orthopedic doctor recommended these. I get cortisone injected into my knees every 3 months as I have osteoarthritis. I couldn’t believe the difference in pain with using these.

I have moderate/severe RA & Fibromyalgia at 43. I have been falling alot when I go for walks with my dog’s due to pain and stiffness all over major joints especially Legs. It’s been painful and the healing takes a very long time.

It probably doesn’t help that I live in the country/farm with up & down hills and gravel. Finally decided to take a chance and put my pride aside. I didn’t want to spend alot of money on Trekking poles.

I am so happy I bought these. They are sturdy and extremely helpful. I even used them on a icy road where my husband and children were slipping and falling but not I. Used them on our recent chopped corn fields and it’s rough out there.

I love these poles. Cork grip is so comfortable! These are definitely the lightest and strongest poles for trekking that I have ever owned. I took these puppies up into the Indian peaks wilderness and was really impressed with the fact that they don’t vibrate at all even when you’re pounding hard on the poles.

The specs on this say that they have a “Speed Lock” and that’s actually true. I’ve owned many poles and these were by far the easiest to adjust to my height (5’9″) and then my husband’s height (6’4″) and they are very sturdy once you lock them in.

My husband commented that normally these kinds of poles get a little wobbly when they’re adjusted for his height and he did not have that problem with these poles which is very impressive. The cork grip is really comfortable and have not given me any blisters any of the times that I used these.

The strap is also easily adjustable but also very sturdy so your hands aren’t slipping out while you’re walking. The tips grip the Earth very well and provide a lot of stability. It’s also nice you can replace them when you wear them down if that ever happens.

I would recommend these to anyone no matter the activity!.

Once I figured out how to configure these poles, they have been great. The instructions that come with them are confusing if not terrible. I found a YouTube video that explained how to properly adjust them.

I live in Florida where I tried these out. They worked in all three areas I used them on – the beach, the Egan’s Creek Greenway, and a State Park that had a variety of area types. Unfortunately all of these areas are flat.

We do, however, hike alot when we travel and these will get much use on those trips which will include many more hills and mountains. I javen’t quite gotten comfortable yet with the “ribbons” that you put your hands through but I think this is mainly because I am used to more substantial straps.

The cork handgrips worked very well – no problems with sweaty palms in our 90+ degree weather. I do wish they had come with the rubber tips. I will definitely purchase these separately. I had my previous pair of trekking poles stolen on our last vacation so these were a very nice surprise to be able to get and review.

I haven’t had a new pair of trekking poles in ages (let’s face it, this isn’t something you regularly replace). So it was a treat to see some big improvements in a few places that make these poles easy to use.

I *love* the “speed lock” hinge release – these are much more convenient and easier to use than the twist/screw on/off of my old poles. On the bottom hinge, I got in the habit of making sure the bulky part of the hinge faced out (away from my legs) so I wouldn’t bump into the bulge of the hinge while hiking.

They’re very lightweight so you can stow them when they’re not in use without feeling like you’re really adding any weight to your load. And finally the cork handles have a good feel. On certain harder surfaces, I could sometimes feel a reverberation of the tip hitting the trail, but that happened with my old poles and it’s not something that detracts from the actual utility of the poles.

Finally, I didn’t realize these were “women’s” trekking poles – what does that mean? If you’re extremely tall (over 6’5″?), these might not work for you. Since I’m 5’6″, I think I’ll have many years of use with these trekking poles.

I received a pair of Foxelli trekking poles for Christmas (at my request). I liked them so much that when I lost them I Immediately ordered a new pair. They’ve been hiking most weekends with an occasional backpacking trip thrown in and have been fantastic.

I’m older and really rely on my hiking poles to keep me balanced, cross streams, ascend and descend steep mountains and rocky scrambles. I like how they have multiple grips with a padded rubberized grip below the cork grip – very helpful on really steep rocky scrambles.

The poles also come with multiple tips for different terrains; no need to get extra tips. They’re easy to collapse and the included instructions answer any questions you may have.

I am sending these back or bringing them to the local Walmart for a refund. The poles were marked open/closed with arrows but there was no product identifier or instructions in the wrapped poles, not even an invoice; just bubble wrapped with a mailing label.

Do I twist the rubber band separating the upper/lower or the poles? I looked on YouTube for Necasil brand and the only one pictured was a MUCH heavier duty model while these were very lightweight. I finally got one to lock but had to take two pairs of large pliers to each telescope end and reverse twist.

I never could get one of them to lock securely and I tried for two days. My husband is disabled and it collapsed on him, almost making him fall if I hadn’t caught him.

I was looking for a walking stick for moderate rated trails, just to give me an added sense of security. The walking sticks come in pairs, but I used only one. Works just fine on volcanic walking trail or dirt trails.

The instructions are in Chinese written language but you might be able to figure out from the Instructional diagram how to assemble. Look up on Google what is the correct centimeter setting for your height.

I am a 68 year old petite height female. Its light weight so not heavy on a half to whole day hike. Price was right.

These hiking sticks work great. I was very impressed with the quality and the strength. The price is unbeatable. Highly recommend for use instead of a cane or just for keeping your balance for normal use or walking anywhere.

I’ve had a couple of chances to use the trekking poles and have found they help the most going uphill and help stabilize walking downhill. I’m getting up in age so I wanted to give them a try and so far my walks have gotten longer and I don’t feel as tired so I will try to go farther in the rolling hills nearby.

The poles perform as expected, easy to setup and use. Winter sale price with rewards added made the purchase easier for two pairs. Very cool Columbia gear! Highly recommended.

These are great trekking poles! Hubby and I shared them this past year on hiking adventures and I finally bought him a pair so we could each have a set. Compact, lightweight and love the cork hand grip.

We used them a lot hiking in Sedona and they were great. really made a difference!.

Bought this back in Late June as I started to hike more difficult trails. And just in time too. My hips can’t carry me, esp. on long distance, so having these trekking poles are a lifesaver. I bring it with me every hike I go to now, even ones that are steep.

It may be a hassle at first but it’s worth it. Going downhill with these have helped me save me knees also.

I had a knee surgery and my wife came home with one of these. Not a cane, but I can improvise and use it for hiking when I’m healthy and healed up. Its light weight. Has the end for more rugged and uneven surfaces.

It also came with a round end for sand and snow. Impressed with the ease to adjust the height of it. Kinda difficult to get it to turn loose to adjust for the first time. But its better now. Reccomend this for anyone.

I am going through some health problems, and my chiropractor is enthusiastic about them. They help me build upper body strength, as well as enabling me to walk further, and helping me maintain balance.

The good thing is that I know that if I am going far beyond my body’s limits, they will collapse. I put a little scratch on them to tell me what is the best length, but that is difficult to find quickly.

I am now trying a mark made with nail polish. Using the straps over the back of my wrist is best for ease in holding them. I use one for general walking about, but two for longer walks for exercise. Self-consciousness is minimal, because they look so natural.

My husband got this nice Coleman trekking pole he love it, he said this is my second Coleman Trekking Pole. It is a great pole, especially for the price. It is very strong and can support my full weight when climbing down a steep slope, but is light enough to carry easily when jogging along even trails.

I have only used this pole on a few trips so far but it has held up great. The handle is comfortable along with the wrist strap. The different attachments are great for all types of terrain. The large round threaded stopper really helped out on muddy trails to prevent them from sinking in.

The pole did collapse down on me once but that’s my only complaint.

These poles were good to walk with. We used them a few times and they really helped you do more. You have to set up the clamps to the right strength so they don’t slip. Unfortunately, after a few walks, one of the bolts fell off the clamp and so we can no longer use them.

Looking at other review sites, this is a common problem. The bolts are a special shape, so no replacing them. For our remaining pair of poles we bought some thread lock to hopefully stop the other bolts falling off.

For this reason, I would not recommend them.

These poles are great for a budget option! They’re sturdy, durable, adjustable, and come with all the necessary tips and attachments. They’re fairly lightweight and easy to adjust. Sometimes the locking mechanism for adjusting the wrist strap slips out, but it hasn’t been a big issue.

Bought these as a inexpensive option to hold me over until I plan I getting a more expensive pair this fall. I wanted to try a pair with twist locks to see how they perform. I have to say they are great at holding and can hold my entire body weight 205 lbs and a 15 lb pack without the slightest of slippage.

They inspired great confidence until a few miles in then they started collapsing on me. I then retightened then felt great again then all of a sudden collapsed again. After evaluating what was happening I found that as I was hiking was inadvertently twisting the pole counter clockwise while it was planted in the ground and loosening the lock.

Once I figured this out I was more conscious of how I was using my pole and will periodically plant my pole and give it a light clockwise twist to ensure the lock is snug. Now that I do this I have gone on a 16 and 18 mile hike without a single slip again although I did break off both my mud baskets and now they need to be replaced.

So if you don’t mind thinking while you use them they are a sturdy pole with locks that won’t slip. Good inexpensive pole. Also top of handle on pole is a hard plastic and could be improved but the cork on the handle is nice.

First pair of trekking poles I’ve owned. I was a skeptic till I used my old XC ski poles on a couple of hikes. I bought the Halites at a local outfitter a month ago and used them nearly every day since.

If you are shorter than 5’ 11”, I suggest you consider the women’s model. The men’s model is on the long side. Buy some spare rubber tips too. You’ll need them in about 50 to 60 miles if you hike in rocky terrain.

The durability of the poles appears to be excellent and they break down nicely to fit in my big day pack when I’m not using them.

After my first hike with my Mountainsmith Carbonlite Pro Poles, I leaned them up against my car and promptly forgot about them. You know what happened next – I ran over them as I was backing out. One pole is so ever slightly bent and has a small place with tiny surface cracks, but all the functions are still there.

The poles still collapse without issues, the anti-shock system still works, and I’m still trekking! I highly recommend these poles. They stand up to a beating!.

I was in the Marines and have humped many a mile up and down tall hills and mountain trekking and never had the chance to use trekking sticks. I’ve gotten older and still go on hikes though with much less equipment but had purchased these wondering if it would help due back and knee issues that have plagued me since.

EXTREMUS had exactly what I didn’t realize I was needing. I used them to go on am intermediate hike with my nephew to try then out. Having 3 points of contact on a solid ground removes any pain and instability you may run into due to unleveled territory.

Back to the product: these are high quality and light weight. Simplicity is key but I never had them give under me no matter how much weight I was putting on them they just took it and kept grinding.

Definitely consider these if you are starting hill hiking or are even avid at it and didn’t think you’d every need trekking sticks. I just received a black/blue set of these trekking poles. They seem really well made and went together easily. They’ll fit so much easier into a suitcase being checked in for air travel…but for my husband.

They’re about an inch too long for my height. The crucial detail I missed before ordering is that although they say they are for men and women, only certain ones are for women. Read the product description carefully for each color, the length range differs.

I’ve included a photo of the length charts on the leaflet that came with mine. If you read the questions for these poles, you’ll see that the seller has answered a question about the ones for women and has given the all-important information on which ones to order for a woman (or anyone under 5’5”), information that I think should have been made much more obvious in the main details.

My husband and I each need a set of collapsible trekking poles for a future trip so he doesn’t mind getting the first set I ordered. I’ll be ordering a black/pink set for myself.

I purchased this trekking pole for my wife going to hiking trip with her friend at Grand Canyon. She is a very beginner hiker who had easy trail experience, but want to see black bridge at the bottom of south Kaibab trail.

She took 11 hours went down to the black bridge and went back to the top. On the way back she was very tried and exhausted. Her legs were numb and she couldn’t control her legs. She had to push her self with these trekking poles.

It was at night times on the way back to the top. I can say they are very strong trekking poles that brought her back to the top and her family. This product deserve millions of stars not only five stars, Thank you so much.

I’ve used these for day hikes about 5 times so far and love them! I’d never used trekking poles before and it’s a game changer for steep, icy trails in my area. Before buying, I compared the specs to some other brands and saw that there were lighter options available.

But now that I’m using these, the weight seems negligible and I can’t imagine 6 or 8 ounces lighter being worth a higher price tag for a casual user. I’m not sure how durable the plastic clamps will be on the extendable pieces, but so far have been able to tighten them enough.

Bought these as a christmas gift for my mom and she loved the color and portability of these! They seem extremely durable, and come with everything you could need in a pair of hiking poles. I had a bit of a freakout during shipping, as I thought my package hadn’t arrived, but I contacted customer support and they responded immediately with help! Love this product! Bought them after a treacherous walk along Lake Michigan and have used them several times for winter hikes. Love how compact, sturdy and convenient they are – even took along on a winter raft trip that ended with a hike.

Also glad that my search for this product led me to discovering Retrospec. Now I’m seriously considering one of the bikes.

I purchased these poles to use while snowshoeing (also purchased the Lynx snowshoes). They are light, comfortable, easy to adjust, and worked well. Just have to make sure that the clamps are good and tight to keep the poles extended.

Even though I got these for winter, may try these for summer trekking as well. A very good value!.

Pole ok. Im a mountaineer and climber and I bought this post hip replacement to aid with recovery and get away from the arm crutch. It’s a cheap one but not bad for the price but not sure how it would perform in a real mountain environment.

The one thing I did find annoying was the rubber stopper wore through after just half a kilometre on the flat which made the pole a little dangerous on hard wet ground as metal tip just slipped about.

Reccomend for light duty stuff but if in the mountains something a bit more substantial may be needed.

I wanted something that would fit in my suitcase. My intention is not to use for demanding hikes but easier trails in some National Parks. This walking pole seems to fit my needs. Had been looking for over a year and bingo I found what I wanted.

After owning a few months i felt i should update the fact that the rubber on bottom wears fast and its down to the metal and it slips on tiled floors it didnt last long and im not sure about replacement but apart from this its a good product.

Its got shock absorbers so you dont get blisters and i like the colour plus you could use it as a normal walking stick as i do or you can higher it and use it like hikers but they sometimes use two and thatll help with long distance.

I bought a brand new walking pole and used it for last weekend hiking. After 1 hour, the pole started to fall off and unable to return to it normal shape. I’m very sad and disappointed at the quality of the pole and would like to demand a full refund.

I bought the most expensive pole but the quality is so low.

I bought the pole on 24th August 2022 and i used it only once in a very easy simple trekking route. On the midway to the arriving point the pole stopped working became loose which lead to a fall. Return the fund or reolace it immediately.

The pole is modular and that’s one of the selling points and reason why we bought it so we can pack and bring it overseas for hikes. However, of the two we bought, one of the poles was unable to stay together and kept dislodging while in use, rendering it unusable.

Purchased for summer backpacking and winter backcountry skiing. Backpacked 3 days and 30 miles. The lightweight kept my arms fresh despite the mileage. The collapsible feature made them easy to store in my pack when not used.

The wrist straps are key for relaxed hands rather than needing to grip. These are a great investment for any type user.

Lightweight and accessory ready for the BD Distance tent. Note that these are AR not WR. WR is for the whippet attachment. The durability seems ok for its weight.

I haven’t had a chance to put these to a hard test yet. They are indeed light weight, which I wanted. The Flicklock length adjustment works well. My hesitancy is in regard to the collapsible joints. On several occasions, the tip of my pole tangled with a bush and the joint just flopped open.

In reviewing a video just now, I see there should be a tension adjustment for this. But you would think, that straight out of the box, the tension would be set appropriately.
