Best Highlights For Black Hair During Summer (2024 Updated)

I have a medium blonde color. My results were amazing with this product. First, you’ll notice while mixing the liquid/powder together that it looks runny/grainy. Please make sure you mix for at least 5 min! It will turn into a thick base with no clumps! I then put half my hair up and used the brush to do some highlights.

Next I pulled the top of my hair down and did 4 highlights on each side with the brush. I left on for about 10-15 min until I saw the product turning my hair lighter. I did re-highlight the areas I already brushed on for a thicker coat.

Came out amazing. Looks like I went to a salon!.

This is an excellent product which adds blonde highlights. You just paint on streaks of blonde, where ever you want them. So easy. You do not paint the root so it is safer than an all-over hair color.

I have long hair and have been using these highlights since I was 20 years old. I am now 70. You should always test first underneath your hair, where it does not show, because it MAY turn brown hair a reddish tone.

I used this product on untreated dark blonde / light brown hair to lighten it. I did test the product on a section of my hair before treating it and saw no ill effects, so I transitioned into using on my whole head.

I actually applied this product twice. The first time, I did a 20 minute “incubation” (which was how long my test strands indicated I needed), but after washing that out, I felt like I wanted more color.

I did another 20 minutes, and ended up with very natural-looking but noticeable highlights that I am very happy with. I will definitely use this product again next time I want to update my highlights.

This is the only kit I trust ! Does not turn my dark brown hair orange at all. Highlights come out beautiful. Had my husband help me with the back of my hair and he did a Great job lol love that this kit has everything you need.

As a newbie I don’t have to worry about buying and mixing wrong products! My kit didn’t come with a mixing bowl though so I bought one separately. Will definitely keep buying this kit for root touch ups.

I have been using this particular brand to color my hair for almost 7 years and have no complaints. I typically will die my own hair and have been for several years. Yes, my hair is natural and curly and dark brown is my natural color.

I will say that this product does not work for every hair type. I’ve had women tell me that they use the same product but with different results. I will also mention that I have never used the recommended time for leaving the color in my hair.

My hair does not take to hair coloring well so the typical 30-45 minutes never works for me. For those that indicate the product has not worked, I suggest using another product like Crème of Nature product.

This product works, But like many Hair dyes even if it comes with a booster highlighting package. It’s a waste of time and Funds Lady if you recently dyed your hair with a dark brown medium brown or black.

So if you are trying to go lighter with dark dye in your hair. Use color oops and dye it the next day after deep conditioning. You will get the color you want. Also put a plastic bag over your dye while processing.

For reference my hair is a medium to light brown with an ash undertone and some gray hairs. Midnight blue is really nice with an undertone of a blue tint but no actual blue to your hair. Jet black is very dark, sharp and glossy looking.

Natural black still solid coverage but a softer tone to it. Chestnut brown has a golden almost auburn color to it. Red hot rhythms is stunning when first applied but quickly loses color in less than a week making your hair look very much like a box dye job.

Golden blond is true golden warm tone but again you need a professional to lighten your hair first in order for the color to take all the way through your hair. I don’t know who has their nose broken, but the conditioner smells absolutely fabulous.

Reminds of a salon honestly. obviously when you’re dying you need to have a fan going but even that’s not a bad smell. Bottom line as with any color going darker than your hair tone is always easy and possible.

And going lighter impossible without a bleach or toner to lighten it first before depositing color. Gray coverage 90%.

I use this for my perimeter when I am wearing blonde and honey hued wigs. It’s so easy to apply a little goes a long way. It’s affordable and comes in an array of colors. It’s easy to wash out, doesn’t rub off to easily.

I like it. Works on human and synthetic textures great for highlights or ombré a wig.

I would give this color 5 stars but it left my hair with spots. Now I have dark brown and light brown spots. I really liked this brand until this happened. Now I have to spend more money coloring my hair with the same color from another brand.

I was using salerm vision 7. 44 Orange Red. It was the first color I choose when I decided dye my hair Cooper. I used to be blonde and OMG the change was amazing, It was exactly what I was looking for.

It is really bright, colorful and long last 4 weeks having and using good products.

These dyes are very good, I just used the F6 and the truth is that I loved it, it does not mistreat the hair, nor does it leave it stiff, I recommend it

The whole Developus/Satin line is extraordinary. I discovered it in a small beauty supply store in Sherman Oaks California that sells to a lot of movie and television hair and make up professionals. I was standing next to a woman who stood with about thirty boxes of Satin and who was the lead stylist for the TV series, Friends.

The colors are stunning, but the shine is over the top, probably due to the aloe vera/silicon components. Make sure you use the Developus developer along with the Satin color. Developus makes a developer formulated especially for gray hair.

I do my own color, but have my hair cut by a very good stylus. That saves me about $125 at the salon. Based on his observation of my color, my hair’s luster, and how well Satin handles gray hair, he started using it in his salon.

It’s actually targeted for professional use. I was lucky to find it.

The quality of this product is very good. I used the correct concentration of developer to color ratio on a test spot. it did not lift my hair. I haven’t been able to achieve HI lift color ( any brand)( and I have tried every brand) on my hair since I have had more grey hair because my dark level 6 has gotten darker with hormonal changes.

That being said I believe this product is a good value and is high quality, but unfortunately i cannot use high lift colors on my hair any longer. I went back to my stylist for partial foils with bleach is the only way to lighten my resistant dark hormonal hair and tone the grey highlights to blonde.

If you have virgin hair that is the correct level, you should have good results!.

I give this product 5 star because it works great, vegan option, and covers grays. I give it zero stars for color. it is brown. not mahogany (a reddish bown) not violet. B. r. o. w. n. Quite dissapointed with the color.

I would not recommend this product if you are going for the reddish violet color. I would recommend if you want brown.

I have been using #393 Auburn for years and very happy with my results. I recommend this product to a lot of people. In fact I receive compliments on my hair all the time and ALWAYS take the time to provide info on my best hair color for I don’t even remember how long.

People can’t believe that it’s not a permanent hair color. I’ve been doing my own hair for a long time now and even I am still amazed by my results, specially just permed/touched up. I have very long hair so I am grateful that that it’s not expensive because I would spend a fortune (I don’t have) Please don’t change the formula This is my very first review.

Love this when I relax and color same day, no two week wait btw. Vary easy to use, I think hair feels softer after using. Dark colors do not last as long on gray hair but it dose actually color gray hair.

Would definitely buy again and recommend to family and friends.

My hair is naturally black and brown, so I chose ebone brown because I thought it closely matched my own hair color. After using this product, my hair came out a little darker than expected. I barely saw any of the brown tones come through.

It’s been over 3 weeks now, and it is still a bit dark for my taste. I probably won’t buy this one again; though I am open to trying another shade.

I’ve been using this hair dye for several years now and it’s the best permanent hair dye I’ve ever used. The colour lasts up to 2-3 months for me personally. I’ve got natural black hair but the top of my hair has gone brown due to sun exposure so I dye to match the rest of my hair.

I use the L’Oréal casting creme gloss and usually and buy the John Frieda foam due when it’s on offer. It gives the most intense colour and is so easy to apply and I manage to get all my hair without it looking patchy.

The only problem is that once you’ve washed it out, it leaves your hair so dry and straw like that you can’t even brush out the knots. Once you’ve washed your hair with shampoo the next day, it’s fine again, and has an amazing shine and you can really see the colour properly so the trick is to just be patient until you can wash your hair with shampoo.

I wish it didn’t leave my hair so bad in the first place but I usually use this hair dye in the evening or on a day when I have no plans that way I don’t have to go out with my hair looking so bad and wash it out the next day.

It is really good hair dye if your patient and adjust to it but I wish they improved the formula. Also wish they had more colours like blue, blue- black and grey.

I was really nervous to try dying my hair for the first time, but this was so easy and the color is fantastic. I have tried a few different brands since, and ALWAYS come back to this. The application is really easy and the foam ensures you don’t miss spots.

The color is even and leaves hair shiny. My hair accepts color really really well, so I only leave it in for half the time the instructions say and still get great results. For my fine, medium-long hair, I only need one box.

Also, as long as you rinse thoroughly, it doesn’t rub off on towels at all. It will fade a little after a couple of months, but as long as you use a decent color-protecting shampoo/conditioner it will still be a pretty color.

Cannot recommend this product enough! I will never use another brand again.

Elgon Moda is the best hair color I have ever used. Very mild and left my hair feeling softer and looking more healthy than before I colored my hair. Fumes were mild, hardly noticeable. Went on easily and color came out beautifully and ever so soft, even though I left it on 10 minutes longer than I planned.

Gray coverage is excellent. I definitely recommend this product and will never use any other hair color.

I’m a natural redhead whose hair colour began to fade from lack of sun throughout COVID. It still looked red, but had lost its natural red punch. I started using Light Mountain’s Light Red in November and it is almost identical to my natural red, except with the punch that had faded away.

I love it and it has me feeling like my old, redheaded self again. My hair still has strong red undertones so I only leave it on for 90-120 min and wash it out quickly. I have a few natural blonde streaks in my hair and this product gave them a gorgeous, strawberry-blonde flair.

I purchased a few other henna hair products in red that I stand-tested before doing my whole head and Light Mountain Light Red was easily the most gorgeous colour. It looks SO natural. The first time you use it, you will do your whole head (after a strand test to make sure you like the colour and that it responds well to your hair).

This will be a messy day and I recommend having a friend help you. After the first time, you only need to do your roots as this henna fades to a very natural looking red and stays beautiful. Root touch-ups are a learning curve but quickly become a breeze if you follow any of the henna hair walkthrough videos on YouTube.

I’m in love with this product and cannot recommend it highly enough. It’s a very subtle saviour for natural redheads looking to strengthen their existing red colour if/when it fades. Note: Do not panic when you first die your hair as the colour will look Orange! This is called the “orange panic” and I promise you it will fade after a new weeks.

You can use a blow dryer to help it oxidize more quickly. I added olive oil after researching ways to subdue it. I also cried a lot and hid in my house as much as possible, but I promise the shock of orange does fade after 2-4 weeks.

Tried this love this!!!! It leaves my hair super shines feeling super healthy. Also it gives my hair wonderful volume. I love how it smells as well. Only thing is it don’t stay in your hair for that long so if your one to wash your hair consistently then this isn’t for you but overall I love this.

This is a really nice top coat nail polish. I used to do French manicures all the time on my toenails and this would be one of the top coats I would use. It’s actually considered an American manicure when you use the pink top because it leaves a pink tent instead of the clear top coat.

It can sometimes leave bubbles in the Polish if you don’t shake it very well though.

I super love this Revlon Super Top speed Chrome. Its so easy to use and what i love about this is that is dries fast! And stay on my nail for like 3 weeks. Good quality. Love the price. It’s affordable and i would definitely buy thos again and highly recommend to all my friends.
