20 Best Highlighter For Olive Skin (2023 Updated)

Recently, I made a switch from my Revlon makeup I wore for years to clean make up with ILIA after my skin went trough hormonal changes from menopause, resulting in red and severely dry skin. I knew I had to make a change and I’ve been using IliA products for 2 months now.

I just wish I would have found them sooner. This highlighter adds a natural glow on my cheeks without looking too shiny. It gives that fresh and bright glow that just feels good. I’m also wearing the super serum skin tint with SPF, the multi stick on my cheeks (At Last) and the hydrating lip tint in Memoir.

Love it all!.

I’ve had this highlighter for a while now and I can easily say it’s made its way to the top of my usual rotation as a favorite. The effect it gives is mesmerizing–it’s not glittery but the shimmer in this formula is just enough to make things pop without looking heavy or overdone, and it’s not so subtle as to be entirely non-existent.

It melds into the rest of my makeup with minimal effort. The formula in the pan is soft, but not too fragile or powdery, so it’s easy to pick up with just about any brush. I don’t get why nobody talks about this one, it’s a sleeper hit in my book.

Definitely for going out (not sunlight). This powder is a really pretty color and has a nice finish. However if you’re looking for a natural look this really looks like grains of powder. And the shiny glint that you get from it do not distract from its graininess.

I recently wore it to an office party at night and in the lighting I looked great. But when I got home in my fluorescent bathroom the make up really showed. I highly recommend this for going out on the town but not for going to work.

I totally forgot I even had this product!🤯 It was in one of the bins in my makeup room. So I decided to try it out again. I can’t really remember how well it performed or if I even liked it so I thought giving it another shot was necessary.

In order to get the product out you have to twist this thing on the bottom which pushes up the concealer into this brush thing, and the majority of the time way too much comes out. But that’s pretty much the only thing I do not like about this concealer.

I really like that it’s a highlighting and illuminizing concealer. It really brightens up my eye area and covers up my dark circles. It leaves my skin looking refreshed and awakened! And it’s at an extremely affordable price as well! I never really use the concealer like this before but I really like it a lot.

If you have dry skin or a combination t zone, I would recommend this product. It is super long lasting and the packaging is gorgeous. I really love how affordable this highlighter/concealer is. I use this product to brighten up my under eyes.

It has a great coverage and looks flawless. I did not get any creasing with this product and it lasts all day. I use the shade fair and it’s great with my foundation. Highly recommend this product. I have gone through SO many of these.

I wish they sold this in a multi pack with how quick I use the product up, or possibly make it to where more product was in the tube because I do go through these so quickly. The other thing I really like is it scrolls up and there is a brush at the end for you to be able to apply it.

The brush is not super rough, which is great because of how sensitive my under eye area is.

I bought it out of curiosity, it was 50% sale in CW and I couldn’t help myself. I love trying out the products I haven’t tried before. I did not expect much, but generally I like L’Oreal products so I was positive about this product.

The packaging is amazing, rose gold pen, it screams luxury and good quality, and really it is, after every day use, the packaging looks like new. I have used up the inside, but outside. not even one letter missing! 🙂 I got it in no 1, Light and it is fine for me, although it is a highlighter, I used it as a concealer mainly and it just works perfectly that way.

The consistency is extremely lightweight, silky smooth, it blends so well, and what is more it “cooperates” with all the foundations I have got ( a lot!). What is more, it smooths out your skin under the eyes, covers dark circles but most importantly, it does not sink into the wrinkles! It really doesn’t! Stays put all day long.

I couldn’t ask for me. I definitely can smell some scent, can’t really say what it smells like, but it is pleasant. Any Tips?: You can use it as a concealer also, I used it with Chanel Vitalumiere douche powder and it was just the greatest combo ever.

Ideal For: It is best for concealing dark circles, evening out the skin tone, highlighting cheeks or forehead. Great for everyday use. Amazing product.

Love love love! I have a love hate relationship w highlighters. If they’re too pink it brings out my rosy undertones. Too bronzy and I look fake. This is outstanding. I can’t live without it now! It is so lightweight and it gives a glow more than an obvious glitter which is so important to having flawless skin.

Please keep this forever! I used ontop of hoola lite and with a setting spray and It makes me feel absolutely gorgeous!.

This highlighter is so stunning, I love the shimmery Rosé Champagne undertone in this product because it provides a healthy glow to the skin without looking too glittery. With any other highlighters that I own I would advise you to use them only on your cheekbones, bridge of the nose, and Cupid’s bow However due to the sheerness of the product, I believe that it could be applied sparingly to the entire face as it isn’t incredibly blinding which brings me onto the next point.

This product can be used on top of makeup or alone because of the pigmentation and glow! With most highlighters, they may be baked and highly pigmented and blinding, but with this highlighter it is extremely sheer however it provides a healthy glow to the face.

When you swatch this in the box, it is incredibly noticeable how soft this highlighter is as it feels smooth and finely milled which is amazing because it shows that the product will blend well onto the face and that it is able to be applied easily.

Like I said in my Hoola bronzer review (check my page ) for the amount of product that you get, the price point is amazing as it is a long lasting product which is from a well known high end brand. I just want to disclose that If you are searching for that blinding glow that this product would definitely not be for you!.

First off, the pictures don’t do this highlight ANY JUSTICE! This color is so freaking beautiful! It’s legit, fantastic for summer, day or night. It’s so pretty, the name sunset glow, is truly perfect for it.

While trying to describe it, that is what i kept thinking! The packaging is plain, but still so pretty. It’s got a heavy duty case, with a nice sized mirror! It’s sturdy enough where you can set it down and position the mirror any way you like and it will stay in place, it’s perfect for when I’m running late and have to finish my make up in the car.

Now, the highlight can sometimes go on a bit patchy sometimes, so i always make sure to double check it. I noticed if you use a brush, i just spritz it with a tiny bit of water or my aqua primer or my setting sprays and it helps A LOT.

For the price, it’s amazing! You get a lot of product for just a little money! Absolutely recommend to anyone!.

This is such a beautiful highlighter!! Its so bright and glowy!! I love the shine it gives but it is a little too powdery for me. When you put it on it has a kind of cakey look to it that I’m not a fan of.

I would give it a solid 4 stars to the shimmer and shine of it, but I would give it a 2-3 on texture it gives. I am personally leaning towards liquid highlighters now but I will still use this when I want that amazing glow.

If your totally cool with the texture I described then I would definitely recommend this for you but if you dont like that kind of texture then maybe look for different highlighter or maybe a liquid one.

I’ve seen a bunch of you tubers review this product and wanted to see what the hype was about. So I was super happy to get it in my VOXBOX!The first thing I noticed when I saw it is that is had the standard plastic covering that most drug store make up does.

It does look like a good drop will cause cracks on the cover but it’s still fairly sturdy. The packaging may not be super lux but id feel more comfortable carrying this around in my bag. The second thing I noticed was that the pattern on the highlighter powder itself was debossed into the powder itself rather than a pretty pattern on top.

I’ve played around with powders before where the pattern is only on the top layer and disappears as soon as you make the first swipe. It always makes me cautionary to actually touch my product LOL. But this one was fantastic because the pattern was embedded into the powder.

I’ve used it quite a few times and the pattern still stands out. I was worried the actual highlighter itself might be too much since I remember seeing the hype about it around the time where we were all obsessed with the glowstick too-much-highlighter look but this is truly build able.

I’m able to create a really light sun-kissed sheen but build up to a club glow with a few more swipes. I really love how versatile this product is and I can see myself using it both for day looks and night looks.

Gives you skin this golden glow. If I picked the shade of Master Chrome that I wanted most – this would be the one. This highlighter stays on really well – it will last all day, but it is not too bright and does not turn a different color.

Ever since I have noticed the metallic shades I always go for them. Also, this product is in a very nice clear top round case. It just looks good. The amount of product looks generous and should last a long time.

It is a super intense and deep molten gold metallic highlighter. It is not a light gold, champagne gold, gold bronze, or any other variant. It’s honestly pure gold. I thought that this tone would not adapt so well to my skin (#teampalida) but I was lucky because it adapted perfectly.

The formula is one of the best I have seen. It is creamy but not 100% like a cream because it is a powder highlighter. For example, when you touch this highlighter, it literally feels fresh and creamy.

Completely different from a powder. However, it looks and applies like a powder. Looks beautiful on skin. Because of that creaminess in the formula, it looks super smooth. Now of course, no matter how much people on Youtube like to say that some highlighters don’t emphasize texture, I think just based on pure science, anything that reflects light as an illuminator is obviously going to show and highlight everything in the face – textures, pores and everything else.

But yeah, compared to other highlighters, which can be thick and shimmering, this one doesn’t make blemishes on the skin stand out too much. It has a fantastic duration, it does not disappear from the face immediately.

I recently ordered Illuminating Cream Highlighter in Bronze Glow and in Rose Glow. I’ve been mostly using the Bronze for now as we finish up summer, then plan to rely on the Rose in the fall and winter months.

This illuminating cream highlighter is amazing! I swipe the pearl (white) and lightly blend on my cheek and brow bones each time I apply makeup. I was worried the white might not blend, but it is beautiful! It totally lightens my eye area and blends without even trying.

There is no glitz to the look, all natural. I’m 60 years old and have tried many highlighters; this is truly the best and most natural. I’ve always had trouble with using any product around my eye area, as my eyes always turned red.

I don’t wear much make-up, but when I do, I apply highlighter. A few years ago I discovered that a good highlighter can give me a more natural look by adding back artful shine to my complexion after smoothing it out with matte foundation.

I like this one because it’s so sheer and light, very forgiving. It has just a tiny bit of telltale sparkle when you see it in bright light, but overall a great product for the natural look I want. I like the stick application too (as opposed to cream or powder).

I think it will last a long time.

I’m very fair with cool undertones and pale pink highlighters suit me best so while I was nervous blind buying Staggering, I’m really glad I did. The formula is smooth with a buildable shine that blends easily and doesn’t emphasize texture.

Staggering is a pale pink shade with a neutral leaning slightly cool undertone and I was happy to see that it’s lighter in person than in the photo. I don’t agree with the silver undertone description but it was cool enough that it doesn’t give the sickly cast that warm toned highlighters do.

I definitely recommend this shade to those looking for a glow that can range from subtle to medium intensity but I think anyone wanting a seen from space type of metallic shine will be disappointed. **For reference, my best foundation matches are MAC NW10, Estee Lauder DW 1C0 Shell and YSL All Hours BR10.

I have never understood the hype about the pure nude highlighter from Essence, but this highlighter is sooo much better!!! This is buildable so you can do a sheer wash for a more natural glow or layer it for a very reflective look, and it doesn’t cake up!!! I prefer more intense highlights but I love how versatile this is because you can do both!!! With the pure nude you really can only get a subtle glow and can’t really build it up, so I say opt for this one if you’re like me!!.

such a beautiful, subtle highlight. very natural looking. i wasnt fully convinced it was good but once my makeup was done it looked flawless and sat perfect on the skin. overall really like this highlight and i recommend for everyone especially beginners in makeup.

The liquid gold! The Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Glow is a great liquid highlighter with hi-shine and pigmentation. They are radiant for a natural hint of light for the cheeks, inner corner of your eye and perhaps the brow bone.

Even place tiny bit on your shoulder for the summer for soft hint of gold. You only need a pea size to cover your cheekbones. I would set this highlight to prevent it from moving on the cheeks. It does dry down after a moment.

I love it for a soft, effortless look compared to their powder formula in the face palette which I want to turn up the notch. I am sure both can be paired together for a glowing all day style. I have the shade in Bronze for medium to deeper skin tones.

If you are neutral in tone or warm tone, I think you may like this liquid glow for every day look. If you have a golden undertone, it will be chef’s kiss on your skin. I use my fingers or a brush to apply the product.

I am surprised that it is not talked more about in beauty. It is buildable to your preference.

This liquid highlighter is not bad. I just wish I would have gotten a lighter color. My skin is fair and the Peach Fizz shade adds a reddish-pink hue to my skin. I kinda felt like I was putting ketchup all over my face.

And it also has a scent that slightly resembles ketchup. Very strange. It’s not a strong scent at all, just unexpected. And with the reddish color it adds, your mind goes there, I guess. LOL All in all, this product adds a beautiful highlight under my foundation.

I was able to make it work, but I’ll definitely reach for a better color for my fair skin, next time.

I got this because Samantha Ravndahl recommended it. When I first tried it I was ready to send it right back, but, then moved into different lighting. It looked like I had NOTHING on under poor lighting and my skin glowed under good lighting.

It looked like I had nothing on my skin – no glitter particles JUST GLOW. I usually use this highlighter when I have absolutely no makeup on or very little makeup. It’s a little too subtle for a full face of makeup.

I also find it to be a bit drying, so for a similar glowy look I usually reach for the Kora (cream) Luminizer in Rose Quartz. The Kora luminizer is a bit tacky, so sometimes I use this highlighter to set that one.

I don’t reach for this as much as I would like to, but it’s a beautiful product.

I would describe the shade as a warm apricot-pink colour with high shine golden shimmer. The golden shimmer is quite finely milled so it goes evenly upon application. It’s not chunky or glittery kinds.

It is super duper pigmented. Just a swipe of colour and you get a nice glow on your cheeks. The most amazing thing that I found about this blush was that it would work on most complexions- for women with colour it would work as a golden highlighter, for women with light wheatish complexions it would give a soft peachy pinky glow and for women with fair complexion it would give a natural pink flush of colour witha healthy glow to cheeks.

The packaging is nice, it comes with a mirror that is of decent size and overall the blush is sleek enough to take tiny bit of space in your bag.

Packaging: Sturdy embossed minimalist outer packaging and plastic product packaging in the same style as individual ABH bronzers and triple blush. The white and gold is a nice touch. Appearance: beautifully packaged, but the pressing of the product is stunning.

Almost a mini wave effect. On skin, performance & longevity: The usual extremely fine powder blend from Anastasia which melts into the skin effortlessly. Very pretty but not one of the Blingier highlighters.

It has a muted gold effect which leaves a subtle glow instead of a mirror/glass effect. I dare say it can be achieved if built up but I like it for what it is, more of a day glow shine. I bought as I hoped this would be like the sold out Amrezy which a friend let me try, but they are quite different.

I would use Iced out for day and Amrezy for evening. Massive upside on both these highlighter is they work on ALL skin tones. The product lasts well through the day, with morning application the product is still visible after 9 hours at work.

This is a beautiful highlighter and the first product I’ve been legitimately excited to try in a long while. Yet I’m torn as to how much I actually like it as a highlighter. The texture and design is beautiful and the pattern gets a golden shine in the sunlight.

This is so gorgeous both when looking at the product presentation and embossing, and when swatching it. It shifts depending on how the light hits, ranging from silvery to smooth shimmery pale gold, to sparkly gold.

However because of the sparkle effect (it’s very fine sparkle however, not chunky at all), I don’t think it looks great on natural-face days. You don’t see the sparkle from every angle and lighting, but the fear of looking like a disco-ball on natural-look days is definitely there 😅 I purchased this from Ulta on release day and I used a promo gift card along with points, so I’m still happy with my purchase.

However I would not have paid full price for it. in conclusion, I would recommend this highlighter both as a pretty collector’s piece and also for those who like their highlight to be noticeable. I would not recommend it if you’re unsure and prefer a very natural glow.

This really is quite a beautiful natural non-glittery looking highlighter. It gives your skin a beautiful dewy appearance if applied lightly with a brush (my cheekbones) or can be built up to have a much more wet golden glow (my eye inner corner).

The best thing I have found about this highlight is that it really does not emphasize textured skin, and actually reflects beautifully to create a bit of a blurring effect. Any of my other textured skin girls know, it can be hard to find a highlighter that doesn’t emphasize imperfections! All of that out of the way, there are a few caveats.

Upon first appearance of the product, along with the name of it, you really are under the impression it is going to work well for very light more neutral and cooler toned skin. Unfortunately that is not the case.

It has a much more golden sheen to it than the expected champagne finish. I am able to use it and make it look better with my skin tone by using a very light hand on my cheeks and pairing it with other more warm toned bronzer and eye makeup.

It also does not last quite as long on the skin as say- Scott Barnes highlighters which are in a similar price range. All of that being said, this would look perfect without effort on medium to darker skin tones with neutral to warm/olive undertones.

I also enjoy using this for a golden sheen on the eyelid! Overall I think this is a very good higher end highlighter, but there are many that were expecting this to be for lighter skin, due to Amrezy (their other highlight) being suited for darker skin.

I feel that a more champagne or “icy” highlight would have been more well rounded and suited to its “iced out” collection.

I didn’t even buy this off Sephora but I want to sing the praises for this highlighter, specifically the shade Stargazer. Firstly, this is high shine but no chunks! The gel texture works so well. You can apply lightly and less product for a soft effect, or you can layer it to pack a punch.

Secondly, does not accentuate pores! I’m looking at you Becca Lastly, the stargazer color is perfect, especially those those of us with neutral or rosy undertones. Most highlighters have such strong yellow or gold undertow and it just doesn’t look natural on my skin tone.

This, however, just looks like it’s a part of me. Freaking love this highlighter. Also the embossing is stunning.

My new ride or die. Holly grail. Perfect perfect tone on my light medium olive tone skin (uoma foundation #HHT1). It’s just the right amount of glow. So natural. So flattering. It looks like the light is actually shinning through my skin from inside.

This is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I’m in love with this. It is so pretty on the skin. It can be a blush and highlight all at the same time which I looove. It has held up on my oily skin. I am impressed with this.

Don’t get me started on the embossment. Stunning. Love the little details like that.

I don’t normally write reviews but I felt like I needed to share this one. This highlighter was a big disappointment. I’ve loved everything else from this brand so far but nothing about how this highlighter is described is true.

This product is described as “Superfine in texture with multidimensional pearl pigments, this pressed powder gives skin a seamless boost of radiance without the unwanted chunky glitter. ” This is probably my most glittery highlighter and enhances all of the texture on my cheekbones, which I don’t have that much of yet.

The texture of the product is also not as smooth as I thought it would be. Maybe it was just the shade? I got Brave. Anyway, a huge bummer!.

I am rating this low not because it is a horrible highlighter but because it is just not for me. My main issue is that it is MUCH too dark and golden for my skin tone (I am SUPER pale). I believe this is the lightest color of highlighter they have.

If that is the case, they should really expand the range so there is something for those with super light skin too. This highlighter is also VERY glittery which is not my favorite but that is personal preference and not a ding against this highlighter or brand.

Overall, my issues with the glitteryness is my own but my issue with shade and the shade range is really the deal-breaker. Not for me but I am glad that there is an affordable brand out there and am sure there are plenty of others who would love this.

This is the second Polar Vortex highlighter I have – I got the first for my birthday and fell in love with it so I bought another and I plan to get more. I loved the Get Wet highlighters and these were as good if not better.

The texture and payoff are exceptional, they don’t show up texture and they feel so bougie – I’ve paid triple for highlighters that haven’t performed half as good as these. HIGHLY recommend!!!!!.

This is beautiful, gorgeous, and I love it. I can wear it with blue, purple, and cool toned looks and look like I am the Ice Queen that my ex thought I was before I left them. Yes, I went there, because this makes me a bad B.

Also, it makes my partner say that I look “pretty, shiny, neat” and that is from a sober cis man. It’s good. It lasts as well.

I bought the originals in the shades Dew Me Brighten Up when Jaclyn 1st launched them as part of her 2019 holiday collection and fell in love (in the circular containers). they came out as a Limited Edition item they quickly sold out.

So I was super disappointed when I couldn’t get my hands on any others in 2019/2020. well LUCKILY she launched this exact same formula in different packaging this year (2021) I snatched them up in every single shade (Dew Me, Brighten Up, Carats, Feelin’ It Brilliant) I’ll start by saying, alot of people don’t know that these were created as a multi-use powder for an all over glow not to be a “blinding” highlight.

I believe they are listed as just Mood Light Luminous Powders but they were originally called “Highlighters” when they 1st launched both times. Anyways. These are amazing for setting your makeup. you can use it all over or in certain areas the results leave your makeup looking absolutely flawless!! It blurs imperfections and leaves an amazing, radiant, “glow from within” finish! The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, very aestheticly pleasing.

has weight to it looks/feels high end. The formula is super fine a little goes along way. No mattet your complexion, theres a shade for EVERYONE. I have fair-light skin in the winter months can wear the 2 lightest shades Brighten Up Dew Me and a light-medium sometimes tan complexion in the spring/summer and wear Brilliant Carats.

The deepest shade, Feelin’ It works with deeper/darker complexions but can also be used over Bronzer on lighter skin tones. The 2 lighter 2 medium shades can be used to brighten areas (under eye, high points of your face, over highlighter etc) on darker skin.

i have all 5 in my personal collection as well as in my makeup artist kit. Not only does it work with all complexions, it works on all skin types! I cannot say enough amazing things about this product.

This review is for the baked powder highlighters called ‘Highlighter Enlumineur’ in the shades Spark$ and Awestruck. The packaging feels light and cheap. I was disappointed in the packaging when I first received these items in the mail.

The hinge feels cheap, the weight feels cheap, and the plastic feels cheap. I hate the raised “J” on the packaging, which makes stacking and storing these items a hassle. The mirror is lovely and the only nice thing about the packaging.

Spark$ is a champagne highlighter that is pretty on my light skin tone. If I build it up too much, it starts to appear chalky or cakey. Less is more with this highlighter! It’s not overly sparkly but not exactly subtle.

A solid highlighter. Awestruck is a muted rosy coral highlighter. I can only assume it’s a highlighter for those with a deeper skin tone, but it works wonderfully as a blush topper on my light skin tone.

I love the sheen and dimension that it brings to my cheeks! I would recommend the shade Awestruck as a cheek topper, but I don’t think I would recommend the shade Spark$. Four out of five stars.

These things are NO joke! I got them from the very first launch when the components were the circular frosted ones with silver tops! and I have worn them sooo much! A little definitely goes a long way! I use the 2 darker shades and shadow toppers.

Hypnotic is great for a pop in the inner corner, especially with purply-berry tone looks! I also use all over the lid on no make-up days for some color. Amped and Bomb are perfect for the summer for that gorgeous wet looking glow and Extra definitely lives up to the name! it’s my go-to for many looks, pop in the inner corner, dap on the tip of the nose and a light brush on the tip of the apples of the cheeks! You won’t regret buying these!.

I was provided a free sample by Florence By Mills to write an honest review. I tried this product on my cheeks, nose, and inner corner of my eye. It isn’t my favorite highlighter I’ve used before. It had the texture of a regular highlighter, which was fine.

It highlighted my cheeks okay, but wasn’t super noticeable. After wearing it for a couple hours, it had mostly faded. Nevertheless, it is still a good product. It is a little pricey for such a small highlighter that disappears after a couple hours, but it will still highlight whatever part of your face you apply it to.

I would recommend this to those who are newer to makeup and would like something that doesn’t pop too much.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I received this free sample by Florence By Mills to try and write an honest review for, however it has far exceeded my expectations! I chose the Self-Love champagne color since I have a light skin tone and it truly blends effortlessly into my skin, leaving it feeling hydrated with no greasy feeling whatsoever.

While the highlighter stick is a smaller size product, I’m a firm believer in quality over quantity so I’d rather pay more for a smaller stick if it’s going to do a fabulous job like this one does! I HIGHLY recommend this product and would definitely rate it a 10/10! It’s THAT good! Thanks Millie for creating a product that I didn’t know I needed in my life.

I love this self-reflecting highlighter stick from florence by mills. I got it in the shade “self worth” and its gorgeous. It’s a golden bronze shade with lots of shimmer. It’s great for highlights or really using where ever a little glow is needed such as areas of my body.
