20 Best High Waisted Boyfriend Jeans (2023 Updated)

I’m a middle-aged, soft and somewhat curvy mama that never outgrew the 90’s vibe. I ordered so many different styles of jeans to try from AE, all the same size after reading reviews. *I ordered one size up from my Torrid bombshell skinny jean size, if that helps anyone.

* While all the jeans I ordered were pretty consistently sized, some did NOT flatter my flatter backside or softer mid-section. I kept a couple of other styles too, but these ones are the ones I wished I had started with.

The rise is “high-ish”, and the pockets are placed in a mildly flattering way. The fabric is thick enough my stomach doesn’t appear “shelf-like” near the bottom, some of you know what I mean. These really did lift my spirits after thinking I was stuck with all my skinny jeans (seemingly work for my build best, but I’m so over them).

The fabric reminds me of the men’s jeans I wore in the 90’s too. I’m going to order more colors and patch the hole on the upper thigh. The ones I ordered did not have the hole.

These are amazing! They are very comfortable, more so than normal denim jeans and that says something because I have sensory issues. To have jeans that don’t make me uncomfortable, feel scratchy or anything else, is impressive! These are a straight leg all the way down and rise very high on the waist, which I love.

I ordered the short because I do have short legs, I enjoy a little extra length to cover my ankles, but I probably could have ordered an X-Short and they would have been the “normal” length. I will say, they probably do run a little big.

I wear a 12 in skinny jeans because I like skinny jeans, but with a little extra room. In Mom/Boyfriend Jeans I wear a 10. I ordered a 10 and while I need the 10 to get over my wider hips, I would ideally have an 8 in the waist with these.

Normally, they are a little loose because I do need that size up from my what my waist is, to get them up. However, there is more room than normal from having a size up. Enough I have to tug them up every once and a while, which I normally don’t need to do often.

The look does not change though because like I said, these are VERY high waisted. I would say, if you don’t have wider hips, size down one size. Otherwise, I highly recommend these and these fit the only way they could on my personal body.

Conclusion, these are a very comfortable denim jean, the leg length is accurate, these are very high waisted with a straight leg and these run a size large, if you don’t have wide hips, go with one size down.

As an elder millennial, I stopped shopping at AE a while ago. However, several friends suggested AE jeans when I told them I was on the hunt for the perfect pair of high rise straight leg jeans. I’m in love.

This is the perfect pair, especially for a chubby 30-something who will never wear the low rise jeans of her youth or the flared jeans of her childhood. I went down a size based on reviews even though I got a size 10 for the mom jeans.

This fits well, is flattering, the exact length I want, and non-ripped (hello, not all of us want ripped jeans, thanks, I’m old-ish). The stretch is ** chef’s kiss** for my mom bod. Bless you, AE.

These jeans have the perfect rise for a longer torso. The 10″ front and 15. 5″ back make them very comfortable and provide coverage without feeling restrictively high. Nice light fabric for summer (although I could do without the distress points).

The fit is not as large as I expected for a boyfriend fit. On me (5′ 8″ & 165 lbs) they fit like a regular jean.

I love my new jeans! I wear a size 6 pant and the 28 fits me perfectly. I have dressed up the jeans with heels with a blouse and sweater and gone casual in sneakers and a sweatshirt. I’m wearing these boyfriend jeans more often than not because they are so comfortable and have received several compliments.

I look forward to warmer weather when I can wear them with sandals and summer tops!.

I was looking for a pair of jeans that wasn’t high-rise (very hard to find these days!) and wasn’t skinny. These are a great, simple, comfortable pant with an appropriate rise and and nice color/wash.

I love that they are long enough to have a cute cuff at the bottom without sacrificing length. Only downside is that they shrunk after the first wash. mostly in length!.

These are nice jeans with a good fit. They feel soft and are comfortable. I’m not sure I can accept the pre distressing which will soon turn into holes in the front and on the back pockets. (I use my pockets.

) I’m thinking about sewing them up. If they had these jeans without the distressing they’d be perfect. I tried the Catherine Abelia but they fit bigger and aren’t the same.

They just don’t fit me like the model in the picture. She looks much better in them! Maybe because I’m 46 and don’t feel like I can pull this look off, ha ha. I returned them but kept some other KUT jeans that looked better on me – the Natalie bootcut and some fab ab skinny jeans were more my style.

Fit great. Tend to stretch out slightly. I am 5’3 and they are a tad long but you can roll the cuff ( the description says petite available but doesn’t reflect the length in the description. ) Love the color.

I bought the light and dark color.

The Time and True line personnel and overseers can consider utilizing math in order to get consistent sizing. Math is freely avaiable to utilize in order to have the Time and True clothing line consistent and helpful in sizing.

For this item the waist and hip measurement difference between the size 6 and size 8 is minimum. The waist and hip measurement difference between the size 8 and size 10 is massive. As far as clothing sizing goes the difference between the size 8 and size 10 is way too much.

Each size 8 compared to size 10 is that. The way too much makes purchases of the item not doable. Also, the rips/slits in this jean are all completely unattractive – large holes, fabric pinched together, and fabric bunches up so does not lie flat.

Also are placed too high. A good placement should be near the knee area and not so far above and definitely not large holes. The color choices are just right. But color choice alone does not make the item purchasable.

Is this another Time and True clothing item that will remain hanging on the racks within the store? Also, regarding the name of the line, the word true in the name is misspelled. True has an e at the end.

Im a bigger girl so finding jeans that fit right wothout a muffin top is a hassle. LET. ME. TELL YOU ! These walmart jeans quickly became my absolute favorite! They are comfortable and stylish. I got them in vintage light wash and really.

Really think I should go back for another pair. Cause HAWT DAMNNNN.

These are great jeans!! I bought two pair in different colors in a size 8 and then after a while they were too tight and I realized I put on weight. So I ordered a 10 and they fit just like the aids and I even measured them with the eights and they were the same size.

So now I don’t know if I should order the 12s or try to get another pair of tens. Some people say they run tight some people say they run large. For me they ran true to size until I got the pair that were the tens and they seemed the same size as the eights.

I am 5’5”nd 150 pounds. I really like them so much.

The fit on these is amazing. Love the dark, solid colour…seems very luxe. Very soft and comfy too. A faltering high rise. Perfect slight crop and will look great with slip on flat shoes for a nice spring/summer casual look.

These jeans are super soft and quite comfortable. I wanted jeans I could run errands and lounge in. All other jeans I have are skinnies and sometimes you just want to favour comfort over fashion. I should have sized down – but having never bought Mavi’s I wasn’t sure of their sizing.

I am enjoying wearing them and would buy these again – just in the right size.

I love high waist jeans, but I didn’t feel these were. I’m 5’and short waisted, and these did not come up high enough. The waist was also too big. I like boyfriend jeans as they usually have lots of room in the legs.

These were slimmer cut and not what I thought they would be. I weight 126 and ordered a size 8. Cute jeans, just not for me.

I like the fact that these jeans are not tight in the leg. They are comfortable. HOWEVER, when is the color going to stop running??? I have washed them several times, in cold water, added some vinegar in one cycle, to no avail.

Wear dark panties and don’t sit on a white couch.

The lower half of the leg is wider than shown on the model. So it doesn’t give a flattering modern shape to the leg. It looked fine on my mom (75), not on me 46. I am 5’5″ 163, athletic body. The butt was a bit round as well, not in a good way.

Maybe it was the layout of the pockets?.

I was initially skeptical that these jeans would be keepers, but boy was I wrong. Transitioning from skinny jeans to the baggy style was a challenge, but these were a dream. Not only are they stylish without making me look like I’m swimming in denim, but the fit at the waist is perfect.

Sometimes high-rise jeans can give me jelly rolls and I’m a thin person. Not these! A fit that buttons without squeezing, allows me to bend without pulling in the crotch, and doesn’t give me diaper butt.

These jeans are versatile enough to dress up or down, and comfy enough to wear all day long. Definite keepers!.

These are 100% cotton, there is no polyester. Both the Paige website and Nordstrom’s says poly but. I can assure you it’s not – tag 100% says 100% cotton. I am a 5’4, 150 lbs, and took a size 29. I am consistently a 28 in Paige but these ran snug due to the all cotton.

Once I was able to get them past my hips, I was in and ready to rock the day! These are incredibly cute with a tennis shoe, flat, or block heel. They fit snug and after one wear have loosened comfortably in a few of the tightest tight places but not too loose where I already don’t want to wear them or that they bag.

Got tons of compliments – they have a very competitive look to the popular Abercrombie 90’s Ultra High Rise without the ULTRA high part. Very happy with these!.

These jeans were almost perfect but I sized down because the site noted they run large when I should’ve stuck with my initial estimate. I wish sizing across styles would be more accurate because I’m a 25 in one pair of Paige pants but couldn’t comfortably wear the 26 in these.

The size chart is also not accurate, so it makes it difficult to select the right size. Also beware the color on the website is over saturated; these were less blue than shown if that’s why you’re getting them.

Otherwise, the fabric was soft and weighty and I liked the cut.

I recommend these jeans except the sizing is WAY off the charts. I’m a solid true fit size 10-12in traditional denim with little span I ordered both Based on reviews and I was swimming in both sizes.

Like the 10 was crazy loose all over and in general a bit long. It’s very soft span style denim pants I am returning both and ordering one size down, I am still wondering if I should’ve ordered the 6 and the 8, to compare but we shall see.

Nice mid rise style pant dark even wash recommend just order at least 1-2 sizes down. I only put 4stars bc of the time to return and re order given sizes issues.

I love this brand of jeans! This is the second pair I’ve bought from Kut from the Kloth. The stretch in the fabric makes them so comfortable. Color is perfect – not too light or dark with the fit it pretty true to size.

You can pair these with an ankle boot or flat for a stylish look. I actually loved them so much I bought 2 different sizes, one for a more fitted look and the other for a looser/baggier look. Highly recommend!.

I ordered these jeans during the Anniversary sale. It’s always dicey ordering a pair or jeans online–you never know how they’re going to fit. Well, these were a home run! I love the stretch. Some jeans stretch in the legs but have no stretch in the waist, which I find disappointing, because I’m looking for comfort! I am typically a 10, maybe a 12 if I’ve gained weight, and I ordered the 10, which is perfect; therefore, I think the description of “true to size” is accurate.

I have worn them, and I have not found that they stretch out like some reviewers said. They also are somewhat fitted, not a baggy style, so they look good even if they do stretch a bit, particularly with loose tops.

These are a winner for sure!.

I have never found jeans/leggings/jeggins that I love as much as lysse. They fit like a dream and are so comfortable. I got the the point I literally HATED wearing anything else. I have owned probably 15-20 pair.

Sadly, I think these are my last. At first the denim seemed to last for a while, maybe a year and half or two. But the more I purchased, the quicker they seemed to rip and get holes. (A new supplier?) This last boyfriend pair, I think I wore two or three times and washed once and the denim in the seat has multiple holes.

Not at the seams, but in the fabric itself. Many other pairs have fabric rips in the thighs. I tried a size bigger but then they weren’t form fitting which the leggins and jeggins should be. I would love it if this could be fixed.

Perhaps with reinforced areas or something. Stretchy denim shouldn’t fall apart when, ya know, stretched. I am by no means small (XL) but the jeans fit great, not too tight, not cutting into me, etc.

They truly are my favorite but I can’t justify a $100 pair of jeans that only lasts a few months. Or in this case, weeks. Also, I realized after my first few pairs I wasn’t caring for them correctly so I started washing on delicate and line drying and I’m not exaggerating when I say the material falling apart got worse.

I had to return these jeans as they were too small. I ordered the exact same size as I ordered before in Lysse jeans. The next size would be too long from the waist to the inseam area. I don’t mind going up a size at all, but I have tried that & it does not work.

I wish all the jeans were true to size so I could always order the same size and it would fit. It is quite annoying to pay shipping & handling to get the package here & then have to pay to return it.

So if sizes ran true, I would not feel like I am paying to try the item on. I love the jeans that I already have & wear them often. I was not ordering a legging or jegging, I know those fit tighter. I though the boyfriend jean would be the same size as the jean I have that fits so well.

So now I will hesitate to order another jean, not knowing if it will run true to size. Such a shame as the jeans I have (2 pair, one straight leg and 1 flare) fit so well and I would love to have others from your company, but just don’t think I can order again due to this issue.

I don’t usually wear leggings, but I liked these when I tried them on. I liked the fact that they were pull-on and we’re nice and flat against my tummy. I have struggled with swollen legs recently, and so have stayed away from skinny ‘anything’, however, these leggings fit me beautifully and I don’t look deformed.

As a lady of a certain age I don’t wear them with turned up hems, I just rolled them down to their full length, and they look great. They give a very slimming effect. Glad I purchased them.

I listened to the reviews and went 2 sizes down. I’m normally a 3 and went down to a 1. And it fits perfectly. The strings are sexy and adjustable to give you a fitter fit at the top. High waisted and super sexy.

I even purchased this in the color black and the love the way the black one fits better. But overall these pants are so sexy and worth the purchased.

Love this jeans and they fit to size but I’ve watched them over and over again. total so far 3 times. I’m finally tired of washing them so I sprayed some perfume on them. They smell like an item from china.

I recently gained weight and no pants or jeans I have fits me so I bought this jeans because it’s high waisted abs stretch. It covered all of my extras and my butt Looks so good in it. I am 5. 7 hight and 173 weight with small waist.

I’ve been wearing skinny jeans too long. These do not stretch as much. They are straight and not clingy. I’m generally a 12 but a friend said because of my waist I should get a size larger. I did and they fit like a glove.

These pants must be miss labeled at Zulily warehouse. I have tried to order multiple times and get The Grace flare leg pants instead EVERY time.

I’ve been wanting some distressed jeans for a while now. However most I’ve seen had too much distressing or we’re at a price I didn’t want to pay. These only had the cut out knees and the price was right.

I was very upset when I received these pants and tried them on just for me to not be able to fit them. There are very cute I brought them for myself as a Christmas gift but they fell right off of me which is usually I’m 5’5 150lbs and I usually fit snug into a size 9 but no not these.

I have at least a half dozen pair of these jeans from way back and cannot find a better fitting jean! YES, they run big and in my opinion, that’s a huge plus as I can wear a smaller size in these! I recommend trying them on and finding your size (don’t go by the size your “normally” wear).

They do stretch out some so keep that in mind as well. These jeans are great for all the “larger legged” ladies out there (like me-especially calves)! I can’t wear any of Chico’s current pants as they seem to be made for “skinny” legs (they all fit me like leggings, which is NOT a pretty sight!) so these are perfect.

They seem a little snug in the calves a first but stretch out perfectly! Oh, and “Boyfriends” are meant to be a little fuller/loose cut – Perfect!.

I bought a size 0. 5 based on reviews that they run big. I normally wear a 1 and occasionally a 1. 5. For reference I’m 5’7” 165-170Lbs. My extra weight is distributed evenly over my body. These fit snug.

For a more comfortable fit I wish I would have bought the 1. I kept the 0. 5 because I’m heavy right now and hoping to slim down with warmer weather and more consistent exercise. These are the softest jeans i own.

The scrubbed area near the knee on the mid wash fabric does not appear to be real wear and tear on the fabric but rather extra fabric/thread added to area to give a distressed look. I don’t see the knee becoming a real hole.

I bought these jeans in each color because they were on sale for such a good deal. I ordered two pairs in a size 2. 5 because I read that they stretched after wearing. I also ordered a pair in size 3 because I really wanted the color and thought I may want them a little baggy.

I typically wear a size 3 in most Chicos pants but immediately returned the size 3 because they were huge. After wearing the size 2. 5 for the day, they stretched out and I was frequently pulling them up during the day.

So, I ordered a pair in size 2. They are a little tight but not so tight that they are uncomfortable or obscene. I anticipate they will stretch out to be perfect.

The most comfortable jean I’ve worn in quite some time. I was looking for a non-skinny jean option that wasn’t a massive wide-leg, and these are fantastic! Still slightly fitted, but in all the right places.

I’ve got a larger waist, so it’s really hard to find jeans that fit well in the waist, butt, and legs. These do a great job of just fitting all around really well, and still having enough room to be comfortable.

My husband even noticed how great they fit! I could mayyybe size down, but I don’t think I will because I like the comfort that’s afforded with this fit in my usual size. Ordering a second (maybe third?) pair!.

These jeans are wonderful. It’s the first I’ve bought in maybe three years, and they are really well cut, great quality and hide some of the problem areas from not working out. I’m 61, and not into shorts right now, so these adorable “ beach comber” jeans fit right into a youngish style, reminiscent of rolling up my brothers jeans in the summertime as a teen.

They are def not loose, so they aren’t baggy, but they are just perfectly stretchy enough to be the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever owned!! A wonderful find that will help me get up and out this summer, when we kind of missed last summer.

I bought these in an 8. ( I’m normally a ten/12) And they stretched a bit after a few days wearing, but after washing ( and regular heat drying) they did shrink a bit, So they are back to where they started.

I have tried 5 pairs of Kut from the Kloth Katy Boyfriend jeans, and unfortunately, they are not consistent in terms of sizing and denim fabric. These are much thinner denim than my other Katy Boyfriend jeans—and the denim is overly stretchy.

It reminds me of mall jeans from a place like Old Navy in like. 2008. They’re also higher rise than my other Katy Boyfriend jeans, which actually is a plus, since I always think the Katy is too low. (Another reason I can’t help comparing them to jeans from the early 2000’s.

Low-medium waist is SO UGLY. ) I dont know why so many reviews are saying to go down a size. They’re boyfriend jeans. They’re supposed to be slouchy. Get your regular size. I wear between a 10 and a 12, and I actually preferred the 12, so I don’t know what everyone is talking about.

Thank you to the reviewers who said size down! I have the KanCan flares with front seam and unfinished hem in a 27. They fit great. Then I purchased the light wash straight legs with the button fly and uneven finished hem.

I think they’re advertised as crops, but they’re to the ankle on me. I bought those in a 28 for a looser fit. And even thought I can slide them down without even undoing the button, I LOVE them and like the look of the looser fit in that style.

After reading reviews on this boyfriend style, I wasn’t quite sure if I should order the 27 or 26. I went with the 26 because several people said they went two sizes down. They fit me perfectly. Same fit as the model shown here.

These are comfortable and the denim is on the thicker side, but very soft and comfortable with stretch. I also like that this brand offers some modest tears/distressing making them youthful looking and stylish.

I’m 52 yrs old and don’t want to walk around with huge holes in my jeans and my knee caps exposed. This brand has become a favorite of mine. And I’ll be wearing this boyfriend style a lot. At 5’3″, I do a wide double cuff for a cropped look.

Uncuffed, they are full length on me. Not sure if I’ll ever wear them uncuffed though. Maybe in the cold months. For reference, i am pear shaped and my current weight is 135. Sorry for the long winded review, but I wanted to offer a comparison to other KanCan styles that Maurices carries.

I usually wear a size 10 (or 30) but I wear a 6 in these because they run so big. Other than that, they are perfect. The best boyfriend jeans I’ve worn. I’m 5 foot 7 and a half and they hit me at a great spot above my ankles.

The denim is thicker which flatters my pear shape, but not too rigid. I love the details in the waist and the amount of distressing is perfect. I would highly recommend them, but size down at least two sizes.

I am 5 ft, wear a size 8/29. I had to size down to a 27 in these and they’re perfect! Usually have to size down in the boyfriend style. You can wear them rolled or unrolled, perfect length unrolled and equally cute and comfortable.

These jeans fit well I am plus size and they fit well over my thighs and hips, though maybe a tad bit big in my waist (which happens often for me). They’re super cute and comfortable. BUT…. the chemical smell is overwhelming and may cause me to return them.

I washed them and the smell is not gone and unfortunately seeped onto the other clothes in the load. As soon as I opened the dryer I could smell the odor immediately. I now have to wash the jeans again separately and the rest of the load again in hopes of the odor at least getting out of the other load.

If it’s still on the jeans after another wash I’ll have to return them, even with the tags cut and having being washed. I cannot put them on my closet if they smell so bad.

First, I love all of my Liverpool pants. Pants! Most brands/companies rarely get jeans correct for us LARGE thighs/smaller waist girls. When I saw these on sale, I said why not, I do love the brand. I went to put them in my cart and the only size left was a 12.

I wear a 12 in the brand but, jeans and large thighs remember. I usually size up in jeans just to get them on. I ordered, they came and shocked is an understatement. The not only do they fit my thighs but they allow you to move in comfort ALL DAY.

The waistband is a little big (always an issue) but I CAN GET THEM ON MY THIGHS!!! As soon as a different color shows up, sold!.

These jeans are cute. But, they are definitely low rise. They’re also shorter than they appear on the model. Most importantly, they have an insanely strong chemical smell. I tried them on quickly and then had to leave them outside because my entire room smelled of chemicals.

Maybe the smell comes out after a few washings, but due to the fitting I will be returning so I don’t know. I’m 5’9 but maybe these might work for someone a bit shorter.

I love these jeans, they’re the right amount of baggy, length is also great. Only problem for me is that they are too large on the waist but I always have this problem with Jeans but you can just put an extra button or wear a belt.

They are also really flattering as they don’t squash your bum as some jeans do and also don’t make your thighs look bigger than they are. Would highly recommend.

I’m 5’5 and they came folded at the bottom which I personally don’t mind and is the perfect length on me like that. I haven’t unfolded them yet but I’m sure if I wore them with chunky trainers then the length would be fine and wouldn’t look too bad.

They’re v loose which is exactly what I wanted while still fitting perfectly on the waist and hips (I’m a size 6 in shirts and 8 in trousers). Overall, v happy with these.

It’s actually the most comfy yet stylish pair of jeans I own. As it says, it’s baggy, and super high waisted, so you can wear your mini /cropped tops and vests with these and it looks very aesthetic and cool.

One thing I love about the jeans is that it’s perfectly lengthy for my height I’m 5’7”. It’s long omg!.
