I purchased this wall safe in mid-March. I bought this item because it was was adjustable depth-wise, and was just the right size at just under 6″ deep. I was also very please with the weight, at about 3/16″ thick steel, it was HEAVY!! It was a little difficult to assemble, but with paticence, and perseverance it went together well.

as far as the cut out, it you have any experience at all about carpentry, and can follow written instructions, it was not a problem. over-all, I am quite pleased with this product, and would recommend this wall safe to anyone who wants real, substantial security for their valuables.

While the safe is a great method to store valuables, securing the safe while being shipped needs a lot of improvement. After receiving the safe, I noticed that the bottom had several cracks. This is also the only location in the shipping box that had no buffer between the safe and the shipping box (all other areas were buffered with styrofoam).

I can only imagine a worker moving a 56 lb box and not being gentle. After contacting the manufacturer and showing the damage, the response from a company representative was to return and request a replacement.

I was hesitant to obtain a replacement as I expected the same damage to occur, but I proceeded anyway. Sure enough, the replacement arrived very quickly but had larger cracks than the first. Prior to ordering, I read the reviews and only 1 review complained about receiving the safe with damage.

So, either the safes are already damaged prior to shipping, very few are reporting damages, or I am just unlucky by receiving 2 safes with damages in the same area. Overall, the safe is very durable.

Moving it is not easy as the handle does not alleviate the safe weighing 56 lbs so, during a fire, don’t expect to grab and go. The closure safety does prevent the safe cover from slamming down, and it was a well-thought feature.

The interior is spacious to keep legal sized documents, but I would also order dessicant to keep the interior moisture free as the instructions indicate the safe should be opened on a weekly basis to let moisture escape.

My primary problem is the fragility of this “safe” in conjunction with the thin packaging and the unit’s weight. It’s pretty heavy for what it is, and I admittedly made a fatal error: I did not immediately and closely inspect it on arrival, beyond a cursory check from the top because the box was pristine.

When I took it out to use it (I bought this in December of 2017, so there’s no point in putting in a claim), the top fell off; the locking mechanism was bent out of true, and the hinges- two flimsy plastic caps with springs- were sprung and deformed beyond reassembly.

The interior tray was cracked, and the body of the safe was split at the right rear corner. I would never expect this to survive a fire- during which structures often collapse- without similar failures.

A thief with a hammer could also open this in seconds, so it doesn’t provide any significant security beyond its elephantine weight.

The lock box pictured online was dark blue, as was the box on the picture when the item arrived. Upon opening the box the actual lock box was light blue (which is now the picture online). It was still blue so I kept it for my child and he has loved putting his valuables in it.

Our grandson opened 3 gifts from us and he immediately was intrigued by the cashbox! He kept opening and closing it with the keys provided. He loves it!

These were gifts for our 6 and 8 yr old grandsons to keep their treasures away from their 3 yr opd sister. They seem very sturdy so we will see how they hold up!

This cabinet is attractive and easy to assemble. It’s high enough for an average height person to use as a table top (ie, for folding laundry). It arrived quickly from Chewy and without damage. If your goal is to hide away the funky stuff and add surface area to your home, you’ve found a great product.

However, if your goal is to keep your dog out of the litter box, this is not the system for you. The entry hole is quite large and my hungry-all-the-time super mutt found the treasure within hours of placing the litter box inside.

I’ve tried partially blocking the entrance with the litter genie, and my dog just pushes it aside. I am determined to make this work, but it’s going to take creativity, additional supplies, and additional work.

Also, double check the size of your litter box. This cabinet would have fit my old covered box, but the new system I purchased on Chewy (which I LOVE: https://www. chewy. com/tidy-cats-breeze-cat-litter-box/dp/47094) is too wide for the doors to close and I’m currently using baby-proofing cabinet straps to keep the doors closed until I can find time to carve space out of the back panel to allow the box to fit and the doors to close.

This is a very cute cabinet (I ordered the orange and brown one). It matches my home’s decor and style perfectly! My cats LOVE IT. I currently have a covered litter box that’s fairly large because I have two cats, and unfortunately it is too big to fit into the cabinet (even without the top).

I haven’t bought a smaller one yet, but it seems it will fit a standard sized litter box. I recommend getting a litter mat to put underneath because litter does fly everywhere, and it’ll make for an easier clean up.

Putting it together maybe took about a half hour/20 minutes by myself. Instructions were super easy to follow. If you’ve ever put anything Ikea together, this is a no-brainer. I have a lovely Monstera on top of mine and it just makes the cutest accent cabinet.

If I had more room, I would buy another!.

One of the pictures on the product page shows the hole about halfway up the side which is a good idea and makes sense, however the actual hole in the product is basically at the bottom of the panel meaning the litter box itself blocks half the hole.

That makes it hard for the cats to get inside and also makes litter fly out everywhere when they exit. The whole reason I purchased this cabinet was to help keep litter contained. If the hole is going to be lower than the lip of the litter box, it’s essentially no different than having the litter box sitting on the floor in the house.

This size was good bc it was taller than most other litter enclosures I looked at but its hard to find a litter box that will fit inside. If it was maybe a foot wider, the litter box would sit more to the right and away from the hole to help prevent so much litter from flying out and give the cats more room to enter and exit.

Also having the hole up higher would help as well. I wanted to love it but I will probably return it bc it doesn’t work well for it’s intended use. This could easily be an amazing cabinet with a few minor modifications.

The pictures show how much litter is everywhere after ONE use. If I got a 5″ tall shallow litter tray I’m sure it would be even worse.

Good, sturdy quality, perfect for storing a couple of passports, and a nice touch to include a notebook and a slim pen. The wallet is great to carrying a few notes and cards as well. However, if you’re wanting to include any A4 printouts e.

g. confirmation documents for your travel, these don’t really fit well with this wallet. Even folded twice, 2 sheets of paper are too much for it to handle; the inner sleeve on the right side will bend to accommodate them, and then get trapped on the zip, causing it to get stuck when opening and closing.

Get it for passports and small slips/cards, but if you want something you can fold and put print-outs in, then look for something else.

The safe was great for its size for home use. It is a bit expensive but for the features and size it seems equivalent to other manufacturer products. It came with two adjustable felt covered shelves.

The skeleton keys are necessary if the battery operated keypad failed for any reason, which is great. But also a security risk if you happen to keep them any were near the safe where they could be found.

The keypad is plastic device that takes AA batteries. Nice that there is factory key that can be used if you forget your custom key configuration. Again, keep that with the skeleton keys, not in location accessible near safe.

I still bought water/fireproof sleeves for our documents just in case as well as documents put on to shelf not close to base. There are two holes on the back which do not seem to be blocked. For mounting I assume to back wall.

Plus the two holes for bolting to floor. So just in case got sleeves as extra layer protection for the docs. The thinness of the base where the bolt holes are of concern to me. Meaning, I could rock the safe a little as the thinness flexes a little after bolted down through the.

But, if someone plans to try to take the safe it will cause them some effort. Enough to make noticeable noise if you are home. Also those holes even with the little rubber disks provided still is a possible water breach.

Would be better to have a more pliable plug to use over the bolt heads. There were reports of people using circular saws to gain access into the safe. But then again any safe is likely be accessible given heavy duty saw The only complaints are the insufficient screws (plastic anchor) provided (we got more appropriate cement wedge anchor bolts).

The other minor complaint is the interior openings at base for bolts, leaves holes in the fabric. It would have of been nicer had another fabric covered plate to lay over bottom been provided to cover them up.

So far its great. But time will tell.

I really wanted to like this safe, perfect size and fits my needs. The issue was the mechanism stopped working after about 3 test opening/closings. Yes, it had brand new FRESH alkaline batteries installed and switched those out a few times with other brand new batteries.

no joy. It was as if the solenoid gave up. Dissapointing, you expect it to at least do it’s most basic functions and left me with no confidence it would work as intended when needed. The other issue is the smell from inside the safe, it was a heavy chemical smell that made my eyes tear up.

That can’t possibly be safe. Is this a bad batch of safes maybe? Are all safes from Sentry like this? If I could be assured that a newer version or production run has solved this issue I would probably purchase another.

I under stand the issue of opening the safe with a magnet has hopefully been solved but how about the opeeration of the mechanism and smell? I did read the ratings I saw online and take them with a grain of salt, it seems this time many were accurate.

Come on Sentry, impress me and fix the issues. My rating could easily be better if the product impoves. Your customers are speaking to you. For the record, Amazon is on their game with returns as always.

Read a lot of reviews and it made me real leery about the product, but so far everything is good. Came in good shape and everything seems to work. One bad point is the desiccant bags that come in the safe – throw them out IMMEDIATLY ! They smell like super-concentrated Lysol and it is overwhelming in a small space.

Had to spray Febreze and leave safe open for 3 or 4 days to remove some of the stink. Also vacuum out the inside because there is white powder inside that seems to be from the mounting holes exposed cement.

Also wish the skeleton keys were shorter so I could have one on a keyring, but not a big deal. Just hope it works for a long time. ( I had a Mesa safe that broke inside the locking mechanism. Even the key wouldn’t work.

Had to call a safe cracker (locksmith) to drill a hole in it to open it, and there were no repair parts available. Trashed it and cost as much as the safe to get my stuff out. ) Don’t want that to happen with this one.

I’m using this product to store all of my small valuables. I put some jewelry, important paper and extra cash in this safe. I have it on my bookcase and it looks like a regular dictionary lined along my other books.

Ordered 10 book safes for Christmas gifts. Each arrived separately in individual boxes. Had to return 3 of the book safes because they arrived damaged. All the other 7 arrived in good shape. I think that there would have been less damage if they were packed in one box.

I think my grandkids will enjoy receiving these book safes.

This covert lockbox is exactly what I have been looking for. It keeps my ‘easy to lose’ items like my Social Security card, Credit Cards, Passport, Car Title safe in one spot where I absolutely remember where I put it, with the safety that it isnt that obvious to find.

This safe does exactly what it says it does! It’s a great place to store precious items and with the digital keypad, it makes it harder for theives to crack the code. Because it’s made of metal as opposed to some hard plastic.

This safe is just what our organization needed. The cash drop opening is big enough for our bags of cash/coins and the electronic safe door is easy to use. You can’t go wrong with the price as it was $100 less than the other ones we were looking at.

The only item I would change is that the knob you turn & open the door with should be larger or more like a handle so it would be easier to pull open the door.

I ordered the Barska Hidden Dictionary Book Safe with Key, AND this one, on the same day, for in store delivery. As I recall, I got a text saying one was ready. One arrived before the other, because they have completely different names, different companies, etc.

I waited a day or two and went in, and they were both there, now. Horray! Easy pick up. Folks at Walmart were nice. Took them home. Read the directions. It’s weird to open the cover and sort of pry open the locked part.

one of them the key was inside there (I forget which one, actually). What I DO remember most is that the instructions said “do not open cover more than 90 degrees (or something like that), as opening it all the way could detach it from the hidden safe metal part.

Well, this cheaper one was ALREADY detached at the spine, the first time I opened it. So I took this one, and gave the same thing with a different name, the Barska brand to her. She loved it! 🙂 I took this one and put some Gorilla Glue on the spine.

The “cover” of the book extends slightly beyond the “pages” part, or actually hidden safe part, so it’s tricky to weight down the center part onto the spine so the glue will dry without pressing on the cover which would do nothing to press on the glue, but I devised some method to do that and Voila! All fixed.

I paid six bucks less for this one. I got a six dollar cheaper product! Huh! It’s amazing how that happens sometimes. Besides the difference I described above, the items are identical in color, with the identical words on the covers.

When placed in a book shelf, they look very realistic. Now that I think of it so long, one of the corners on this one was slightly dented, too, which CAN happen to a hardback book if you drop it. This company kindly pre-damaged everything before sending it.

I recommend paying six dollars extra, and buying the Barska. Not that it is SO awesome, but at least the spine was glued on, no dented corner, and the keys are slightly nicer. I went and sprayed WD-40 on the two keys and dried the off a little and stuck them into the locks just for a dose of prevention.

All the stuff is cheap, these keys are a little goofier than the ones on the Barska, as well. Why even lock it, really? One bang with a hammer, or pry with a screwdriver would open either one. But I still think it is a convenient place to place something you do not want out on the table in plain view.

I purchased mine to store my 1911 A1. 45 cal. pistol in while in my home but was disappointed with the quality when I first got it. The extruded white “pages” would not fool anyone at first or second glance.

I purchased a gold paint pen and carefully painted the white “pages” and the result was a pleasant “gold leaf” look to the page ends such as found in limited editions and bibles. The fit was very tight for my gun but any pistol smaller would be fine.

I opted not to put any fabric in for lining nor much foam for padding. The metal edges were very sharp and not finished very well. I was able to fix this by filing and sanding to smooth the sharp edges.

I manages to get some grease splatters on the cover and could not get them out. Even fingerprints showed on the cover and all my attempts to clean the cover showed my efforts. However, the book now looks well worn and not new.

The keys work well and are better than most with small locks. I like the fact that two keys are included. I have tested it on several of my friends and most could not tell it was concealing a gun even while touching it, although the weight gave it away.

For taking to and from the car, it is perfect as I have a concealed carry license but do not want to carry it on my person. For other things of value, no adjustment is necessary. I am confident a thief would overlook the safe as a book and just hope the robber does not need a dictionary for they could always put the whole safe up and take it with them.

Excellent value and walmart had the best price of all sources. At $10. 99 you can’t go wrong. I was impressed with their order on line and pick up at store service. I went to the Layaway counter and within a minute was given my package, just gave them a signature and left.

I am very pleased, satisfied, and content with this book safe. I have filled it with some liquid funds. I placed it together with other books and it looks like a regular book. The feeling of safety and protection has increased drastically.

I would recommend this idea for anyone who is the master of their money and not a slave to their lender. You need to have access to liquid assets just in case there is an emergency in your life or just because you are thinking ahead in life.

Very disappointed when I near broke my back to get the safe to my home to find out the lock is frozen. The key won’t turn to open the door, and I got support on the phone to tell me it may need greasing.

Grease the lock and it still won’t turn. Worthless if you can’t initially get the door open with the key, you can’t put the battery in for the digital lock combo. So now I have 100lb safe that doesn’t work.

The support guy hasn’t returned my email yet asking for further assistance. I’m mad.

I discovered too late that there are multiple videos and tutorials online about this safe. It is apparently notorious for how easy it is to break into – literally a child can do it, and mine did and nearly died.

Just google how to break into a honeywell safe and you will see what a terrible product this is. It’s worse than having no safe at all, because it creates a false sense that valuable or dangerous items are locked up.

If they are in this safe, they may as well be out on your front porch. Avoid this like the plague.

Now that I have it working, I couldn’t be more pleased with the safe itself. ?Solid one star downgrade for the instructions, I had to contact customer service to program the code. The very nice tech rep said, “I don’t know why they don’t make the instructions clearer, everyone has the same problem you have.

” The problem I had is that the re are two buttons on the inside door hinge. The reset button is much shorter than the 3/4″ gray one most people start with, as I did. The reset button is the top of two such buttons.

No mention of the longer button in the instructions, nor that there are two, be sure to get the right one, nor that the system doubles down on the lockout period each time you get it wrong. you can see maybe how this could be frustrating with Covid, hard to reach customers service.

The Dasani water that I have is in a “plant bottle” meaning up to 30% made from plants, but it is still 100% recyclable. The bottle is very sturdy. not flimsy like the cheap water can be sometimes. The bottle doesn’t pop and crackle every time you pick it up to take a drink.

A very nice little safe/lockbox that will hold whatever you want to keep handy but not immediately available to just anyone. I own one and I’m going to buy another. To the complainers: Correct, it’s not digital and if you had read the product title page and the description you’ll see that it clearly states it’s a simple combination lock which is actually better than digital because it doesn’t require batteries that will eventually die over time.

And it’s not intended to be a safe as impenetrable as Fort Knox! For it’s intended purpose as I described above, it works just fine.
