20 Best Hepa Vacuum Lead Dust (2023 Updated)

I have been a shark customer for a very long time. I have the power lift-away from years ago and the things runs like a champ. However, I saw this one and thought WOW no more cutting the dog hair from the wheel and an XL cup will save me so.

much. time! I would say overall it’s definitely a good vacuum BUT I miss features from my other one that make me sad when I pull this one out of the closet. I do still have the other so I can use both.

Pros: Lightweight- for a large vacuum, this is very easy to lift XL Cup- definitely helps when you have 2 very large furry dogs Long Hose-ish- long but doesn’t reach like it states Super Sucker- I did think the suction was very good on getting up massive amounts of dog hair (Border Collie/Newfoundland and Great Pyrenees/Aussie mix) Cons: No Lift-Away- Doesn’t seem like that big of a deal until you are going up and down the stairs or reaching into vaulted ceilings, the canister doesn’t fall over No Light- again not a HUGE deal but seeing dust bunnies run from you was easier with a light Hose- The hose states it’ll reach 12′ making stairs easy but let me tell you, it does not even come close.

Like mentioned above, once you get hose fully extended you need something to weigh it down so it doesn’t fall over from over extension Accessories- My liftaway had a ton of accessories for options i.

e. stair brushroll, and a few others but let’s stick with that one. For a machine that claims it’s turbo power for pets to not provide a stair brushroll seems silly, I have tried to rig my old one to fit my new machine and it works just ok, I end up using my old vacuum to do the stairs ugh.

Self Cleaning Brushroll- seems ok for now but still have hair wrapped around it that i’m sure I’ll have to cut off. Overall: I like the vacuum, esthetically it’s really good looking (because you know that’s important) It seems to do a good job as needed, I wish it was a clone of my liftaway with “newer” features but it’s not.

If you plan on never, ever using the attachments then maybe this vacuum will work for you as an upright. However, if you intend to actually use the attachments for cleaning, then stop, turn and run away from this vacuum.

First of all, the following product description is a flat-out lie: “An extendable hose for up to 12 feet of total reach gives you access to hard-to-clean areas above the floor like stairs, furniture, and more.

” In reality, you can reach maybe 7 feet (max) feet before the vacuum tips and falls over. Specifically, the hose is flexible but it does NOT stretch – not even a millimeter. The hose’s lack of elasticity, paired with how top-heavy the vacuum is, means the unit is always falling over when using the attachments.

To realistically reach more than 6 to 7 feet you need someone to hold the vacuum so it doesn’t tip over, which is totally asinine. The vacuum does not come with a dusting brush. C’mon man, it is the attachment I use the most.

I had to purchase the dusting brush separately from Shark and paying shipping costs. It seems Shark intentionally made the hose an odd size, because I tried the dusting brush from my shop vac and a brush from old vacuum but neither fit the Shark’s hose.

Vacuum does not have an auto-retractable cord. I knew this going in, but didn’t realize how much I would miss the feature until it was gone. Vacuum does not have a light/ head lamp. I also knew this going in but, again, didn’t realize how much I would miss the feature.

My final thought is that the vacuum works fine as an upright. However, for cleaning with attachments it is nearly unusable. Knowing what I know now, I would not have purchased this vacuum, nor do I recommend it.

I was confused as to the differences between a dust extractor and a wet/dry vac. (i. e. can a dust extractor be used as a wet/dry vac. ) I also was tired of spending a significant amount of time cleaning up dust after a project.

So I took a chance and ordered this unit. I live in a condo and don’t have the luxury of a dedicated indoor workshop with plumbed dust extraction. The Dewalt 8 gal dust extractor is an extremely well build dust extractor that can also be used as an all around “shop vac”.

The best part about a dust extractor is that is puts out clean air via it HEPA filtration. The dewalt units are great because they connect to virtually every Dewalt tool with a locking twist of the hose end.

You can also solidly attach conventional vacuum attachments to the hose. Finally, the bags on these units are very robust. They attached very securely to the unit and from what I can tell keep the unit insides clean.

The auto thumping feature hopefully prevents from having to clean the filters! Only down side to the unit is that it pulls some noteworthy amperage so, you cannot connect a miter or table saw to the same circuit unless you have a heavy load circuit.

This unit does have the ability to turn on automatically when you power on your supported tool. This feature is great for sanding and especially power planing.

Purchased this with a DWE46125 Dust shroud and DWE4011 grinder. As a remodeler we constantly have to cut into plaster and drywall. The dust issue is obvious. Had tried another brands dust shroud but we could never solve the vacuum hose issues.

Constantly either duct taping the hose connections together or using 2 miles of adapters to make the different hoses connect. I went all in with dust collecotor and grinder all dewalt. The system works perfectly.

(For info on the grinder and vacumn see other reviews. ) Also own a 10 gallon, but I find myself using this one more as it is lighter and easier to carry around. The hose does wrap up on top as well as the cord.

Pros – The vacumn has amazing suction. The thumper really does clean the filters, comes with a fleece bag. Hose has a good length and finally the main reason I purchased was that it locks into my other dewalt tools.

ie; table saw, miter saw any tool with dust collection. Cons-Hose marks up everything, I bring in a drop cloth when using it for finish work and do not use it as a shop vac when on site.

I have had this vacuum for 4 and a half months and feel I can sufficiently rate the tool. The good stuff: I love the length of hose on this thing The wheels roll great and have a wide enough base that it doesn’t tip when you are using it fully extended.

It came a with a fleece bag and two hepa filters It’s fairly light Of course the tool power on/off feature The not so good stuff: There is negligible hose management. It is a stretchy band on a clip that holds the extra long hose in a bundle on one side of the vacuum.

It is an 8 gallon vacuum – they only sell 12 gallon bags to go in it. Such a waste of room in the vacuum body the bag never fills more than 20 – 30% (With the hepa filters in place. ) In four months it has around 10-15 hours on it and less than two using the tool switch.

As of today the tool powered on off switch no longer functions. The vacuum simply stays on when powered on regardless of a tool being used or not. Overall The only thing that would make me buy it again is that it is cheaper than others.

I bought this off Amazon about 18 months ago and have used it for everything from dust extraction on my drum sander to cleaning up jobsites. IT IS NOT A SHOP VAC. let’s get that clear. It’s called a dust extractor for a reason.

This vac clogs easily with large debris and can be a pain to clear with such a small diameter hose. It serves it’s purpose well for dust extraction. If you need a Shop Vac, buy a Shop Vac. Compared to my CDC Larue dust vac, it’s well worth the price.

There is a difference in suction but that’s to be expected considering the dewalt is less than half the price of the CDC and it clogs up just as often. The Good: -Self cleaning filters provide consistent suction even with fine particles like drywall dust -Filters last a long time, are washable, and are reasonably priced.

I’m still using the original set and have not needed to clean them yet. -Large wheels on the back and casters on the front for mobility -Thick plastic body is very durable -Fairly lightweight when empty -Large capacity -Bags available make emptying the vac very easy -Adjustable suction -Tool activated feature -Meets EPA LEAD requirements The Bad/Needs Improvement: -Locking hose mechanism is bulky when hooked up to hand power tools.

I’d prefer a generic friction fit hose instead -Hose leaves black marks on everything it rubs against -Hose easily unscrews from locking ends -Hose is plastic and fairly stiff compared to other more flexible rubberized hoses -No accessories included.

a brush or wand would have been nice for the price -Hose storage is clumsy -No storage for accessories -Requires some Macgyver skills to hook up to 2 1/2″ ports(I use a dust cyclone with my drum sander, planer, shaper, and table saws for large quantities of dust collection) Now with all that being said, I am about as anti-dewalt as it gets.

This is the only tool I’ve ever bought from dewalt and it gets used daily. I am very satisfied with the purchase. might even consider buying a second one for multiple jobsites. It mainly gets 4 stars because of the hose.

If they switch to a different hose material and get rid of the proprietary locking system that they are so proud of, I would give 5 stars.

I have owned this unit for a number of years now. I have a number of dust extractors. I do seam to grab this one over others. I use it with my track saw which will sit on top. I like the locking system, but they could be better.

Stiff when new. It is nice to be able to connect and lock a tool to the vac hose. It roles and goes up and down stairs easily. The variable suction is nice and easy to adjust. That being said there are things I do not like.

Hose management is poor. Hard to move handle up and down with hose wrapped. It has a large footprint.

The Dewalt DRV012R HEPA Dust Extractor is a good value. The vacuum attachment does not come with it. You have to purchase it separately. This could run between $300-$700 dollars depending on manufacturer and condition.

I purchase the dust extractor for about half the price. The box had been open so it was sold as use. It was never used. Also, one issue I have with it is that the hose keeps detaching releasing dust.

I receive a number of hose attachments that came with the unit but it’s a mystery on which one fits perfectly. If you do rehab or large scale drywall jobs, this product will significantly reduce your time.

Also, it doesn’t work well in smaller spaces unless they have a smaller hand tool. Something I have to explore. I will definitely be using this more often.

I can only offer my first impressions at this time, because I just received this product today, and used it for the first time. Like any new item that replaces an old item, it will have an adjustment period.

I’ll have to get used to the stiff curve in the hose where the extension tube (REAL METAL) attaches — I’m used to a more flexible hose at that junction, which allows me to create my own angles freely, whereas the hose on this vacuum cleaner is rigid at a set angle.

As for its power to pick up, I like the adjustable suction, which I placed at two-thirds strength, which is already twice as much suction as my old vacuum cleaner had. Overall, It has a nice selection of tools, it is a good size, the retractable cord works well.

My only constructive criticism would be for the company to make the instruction manual a bit more detailed by explaining EXACTLY where to find the motor filter (it’s in the same compartment as the bag).

The locations of the other filters were very clear. Also there are a couple of buttons for which there is no explanation in the instruction manual. And the font size used in the printed instruction manual is way too small.

The font size on the instruction insert, however, is much more reasonably sized for reading. So, at this point, I’ll still give it five stars, because what’s most important is that it has good suction, and I foresee it continuing to work.

I’m satisfied with the purchase.

Bought this as my Christmas present to myself. I have three dogs, two teenage boys and a 14 month old. Dirt is a constant in our house but this makes sweeping the floors so much easier. I wish I would’ve gotten one a long time ago.

It’s pretty straight forward with easy set up and a light to tell you when it’s full. I’m sure the home versions are smaller than this one but the size doesn’t bother me. It fits nicely into our corner.

I purchased the EyeVac Pro because I don’t need a full size vacuum for my studio apartment. I have hardwood floors and thought that this product would be ideal for the daily sweeps of random hair, dust, etc.

The EyeVac has great suction, however, when you sweep hair, random particles like string, etc does not get deposited into the container, instead it gets stuck in the filter. After a few sessions the suction is gone.

Don’t mistake this for large amounts of particles, I am very tidy and live alone. So it is just the random particles that are brought into the apt on a daily basis. I am not a person that returns used items, but, in this case, I returned the item after a few months of giving it a good try.

QVC was very gracious to accept the return and credit my account.

I bought this to help with the dust/hair/dirt with having 3 dogs in the house. Even before we had the dogs, this 1940’s house seemed to get dustballs all the time. With this vacuum, it is a snap to sweep the hardwood floors.

I swept the hair/dust/dirt up to the front of the unit and swoosh/swoop, in it goes and hardly anything is left on the floor at the point of entry. I bought this professional model for the 1400 watt power instead of the other unit at 1000 watt of power.

I’m glad I went for the more powerful unit. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who is getting older like me and who is tired of bending over to use a dustpan. I wish the cord was a bit longer so we can plug it in and then move it around a bit farther, but I’m using a industrial power cord to lengthen my range.

It is lightweight and easy to move, easy to empty and I like that all the filters can be rinsed out and dried then reinstalled into the unit.

What can I say, I love this vacuum! In all seriousness, when my son was in high school and didn’t know what to do concerning a job or career, one of the things I suggested was to design a user friendly vacuum.

Well Prolux must have heard me. It has a super cool look with that gorgeous red color. This is a solid feeling machine. It has a little heft to it, but I don’t mind that. All the onboard tools are, well.

on board! And a genius wand extending feature. It has a bag, which I prefer. The cord is nice and long so you can vacuum more real estate without having to replug. And the height is self adjusting, so you don’t have to fiddle with that.

The noise is at a pleasant decibel level. Don’t get me wrong, you know it’s on, but it’s not uncomfortable. At least to my ears. The side rubber bumpers are a light gray color, not black. So it shouldn’t discolor bottom mouldings.

Oh. and it picks up stuff, too, lol. So all in all, I am so pleased I found this machine. And my son ended up getting his bachelors in computer technology. Probably the better choice. He couldn’t design a vacuum much better!.

We live in a 1250 sq. ft. 2 story townhouse that is wall to wall carpeted with a deep pile light sand colored carpet that we installed 2 1/2 yrs. ago. We had been using a popular bagless upright. About a month ago I noticed that the carpet wasn’t “fluffing up” like it used to after it was vacuumed, even tough we had just professionally steam cleaned it last Oct.

I started to do some online research and decided that the Prolux 7000 looked like it would be a good fit for our needs. We have been using it for a week now and our carpet has never looked better! It also does a good job vacuuming the vinyl kitchen and bathroom floors, even though you can’t turn off the brush for bare floors.

The Prolux has very strong suction and I especially like the easy to use attached wand for cleaning along baseboards, corners, under low furniture, dusting, ect. The turbo tool works great on upholstered furniture and stairs.

We purchased the optional 15 ft. extention hose and this with the turbo tool makes vacuuming the stairs a snap. I especially like the 30 ft. cord which allows vacuuming each floor with out having to keep unplugging the vacuum.

And the brush roll doesn’t rotate when the handle is in the up position, which prevents unnecessary carpet wear when using the tools. I am 65 yrs. old and over the past 50 plus yrs. I have used just about every kind and brand of vacuum there is.

I think that the Prolux 7000 combines many of the best features of all these various vacuums and is a wonderful vacuum for all around needs, but most especially deep pile carpets. I have also decided that I much prefer a bagged vacuum over a bagless.

With a bagless you must regularlly clean filters, when you empty the dust bin there is dust flying everywhere and the dust bin never looks clean, because it isn’t unless you wipe it out with a damp cloth after emptying it, a real pain.

Great Vac’s is a great company to do business with and they provide good communication via email. The Prolux 7000 pr.

Works great. I especially like how lightweight this vacuum is. I was using my daughter’s cordless stick vacuum, but this one has nothing on the end making it less cumbersome for me (I’m 71 and small things are not so easy anymore).

I have all vinyl planks on my floors with only two area rugs, so this is perfect. The dirt cup empties easily and the cord winds in the machine with a touch of a button (using foot or hand). Very convenient.

Three speeds for different surfaces. Great deal for a good little simple machine. Also does not take up much space to store. But, if I had a house full of thick carpeting to vacuum, I’m not sure how good it would be, since I don’t have thick carpeting.

My two area rugs have a very low pile. It’s perfect for my house.

All in all, good product. Great suction, lightweight and so it’s easy to pull along, although you have to be careful because I turned it over a couple of times. I like that it has a HEPA filter and that the filters can be cleaned; and the long cord with retrieval is a plus.

Empties easily. Only complaint is that the large rug attachment is very hard to maneuver back and forth because of the rubber strip; was tempted to shave it off, but I found some old attachments that I had from another sweeper that work fine.

I had recently purchased a shark upright that automatically cleaned the hair out of the brush, but it wouldn’t work on my rug, so I had to return it. Since I won’t be using this brush roller attachment, problem solved! I don’t have to clean the hair out of the brush roller anymore! Actually, the suction is so good I don’t need the brush roller anyway.

A little pricey, but I used some reward points, so I’m happy!.

I was looking for a vacuum to clean wool area rugs that did not have to use a beater brush which is not suggested for use in cleaning these rugs. This vacuum works nicely. There are no bags which I consider a plus.

The only minus is the extension rod slips off the handle and has to be pushed on periodically. The clip for attachments falls off a little too easily. I have only used this vacuum a few times but everything else seems to be working well.

The few areas of concern are positively outweighed by the other advantages.

I have owned other leading brands in the past and let me tell you! Ever since I had purchase my 1st shark 5 years ago which it did last for that long until my tubing ripped and couldn’t find replacement parts for it.

The shark company provides wonderful products that really have a high performance. They’re efficient, lighted for better visibility, have great maneuverability when rotating. So when my husband found me this as a replacement I knew I just had to try it.

It came with 3 attachments and has a lift away function where I can leave the floor part and walk with the bucket basically and vacuum in hard to reach places and stairs. It’s not too heavy and very easy to use! I love how powerful the vacuum is.

It picks up any mess my littles leave me. I use this 3x a day and it’s not an imposition to unravel the cord plug it in an unplug and ravel the cord back up. It’s super quick and easy and honestly, I find vacuuming enjoyable and now have a machine that not only happens to be my favorite color, but my favorite brand as well! So happy to have found this! Oh and did I mention how easy it is to clean and there’s a compartment for when/if definitely when something gets Caught in the hose and clogs it, there’s a compartment you can open on the side to get it out.

How neat no more burning up motors and having to completely disassemble to resolve an issue. Shark Also has made it super easy to clean and empty. There’s a separate compartment in the bucket with a mesh bucket so that it stays in there and filters out the debris and keeps the hair and/ bigger things trapped up too.

Love love it!.

Got this today, was a breeze to assemble and get going. Picks up a lot of dirt and hair quickly, I like the no tangle bush as we have a longer hair dog, and my wife and daughter both have long hair which used to have to be cut from the beater bar of our old vac on a regular basis.

This one has 3 filters so good for allergies, and the dual brushes which did very well on carpet and hardwood, getting a lot of the dust on the wood floor the old one couldnt get. Only a few things to note, the bin is a bit small and had to be dumped a lot because of pet hair, 3 times on our main living room.

It is not the lightest vacuum but about the same as our old one. I wish it came with a cleaning brush head separate order. and had room on board for all the attachments instead of just 2. The head is low profile and fits places our old one would not, and it turns very well.

Will see how well it holds up as the Dyson 07 it is replacing lasted us for 20 years and did a good job consistently. Just didnt want to pay top dollar for a Dyson again. 3 months later and the vacuum is still doing a great job.

We have not had any problems with hair wrap on the brush bar with our golden retrievers fur. Still have to dump the bin a lot with pet fur. Still miss that there was no standard brush attachment, but came with basically two upholstery brushes one powered, one not.

About to order the standard long bristle cleaning brush so I can clean the air return and vents, be nice if the sizes were standard so I could just use the old ones from other vacuums. Another quick update, trying to find accessories like the dusting brush has been difficult.

Shark does not carry one on their website, even though the owners manual says they do, and cant or wont tell you the dimensions needed. Ordering one from Home Deliveries USA, let you know if it fits in a later update.

Well, it does vacuum well. And there is the HEPA filter. For reference, I am used to my old upright Eureka Boss Smart Vac (which lived a long life but recently died), and this Shark is harder use use in many ways.

For starters, a filter bag is so much easier to deal with than the canister, which has to be emptied after every vacuum, and doesn’t even empty completely on it’s own (i. e. you have to reach in to dislodge hair, etc).

I also failed to realize that with the swivel steering, the upright unit is just more unstable and a little harder to push overall as a result. The real kicker though is the almost complete uselessness of the attachments.

Because you have to take the upright handle off, the unit that is left is so short you then have to carry it around. In addition, the attachment tubing is so short that you have to bend over to use the attachments.

So you therefore are all bent over, trying to carry around the unit in order to use the attachments, which is very back breaking. So. It does vacuum; it does good on bare floors and area rugs of various pile depths.

If you never use attachments and don’t mind skin and nose contact with your floor detritus, then this vacuum could be fine for you.

Stopped working after the second time using it. The first two times were great. The third time I wanted to use it the brush wouldn’t spin. I checked everything and could move the brush with my fingers so I don’t think it’s stuck.

No obstructions anywhere. Getting a refund was a bit tricky. I was told a few different things because I didn’t keep the box that it came in, not expecting it to break after just two uses of course I threw it away.

The vacuum having been delivered from a local store (but I had it shipped here) still somehow it was delivered from my store??? My store wouldn’t take it back without the box, told me to contact PayPal to dispute the transaction because I use them to pay… …It was just a little bit (no it was a lot) of a disaster and a headache.

Anyway I don’t recommend this vacuum and I wouldn’t buy a Shark again. This was my first time buying a shark. Having used them before I liked them (they actually worked and my sister swore by her shark) I realize I don’t wanna waste money so I don’t think I’ll buy a shark again.

Keep your boxes for a while before you throw them away just in case. I wish I did.

Brilliant piece of kit to add to my Makita collection. Has enough power and the attachments are useful. Sturdy, has a blower. Few issues, no makita dust extraction points are the same. They all require adaptors which cost £12+ each, wet vac filter requires buying separately and the filter gets dirty quickly (so it’s doing it’s job).

Overall happy with the product.

Light, powerful and really handy. Comes with 2 vacuum tools. Used for cleaning out our cars and power tool dust extraction. Used with a 5ah battery cleaned 3 cars on full power and only used 25%. Really pleased with both build quality and performance.

The only sad thing (according to my wife) is I asked for & got a vacuum as a present. Blokes and their tools.

Was sceptical but its light, good suction, long hose. Shame is 5mm too long to fit in a makpac. I attached it to my cordless planer and it took all the shavings also good for car cleaning. Good to have a blower built in too which is good to clean our the filter afterwards.

Not used it for liquids yet.

This is our second Nilfisk. The first one was excellent and lasted 25 years. The new one seems even better. Lighter and easier to drag around the house, slightly quieter as well. Although not cheap, it does exactly what we want it to do as a vacuum.

Great quality unit. Excellent suction and filtration with durable construction and parts. Huge bag capacity and long-life consumables (filters, etc). The unit performs beautifully on hard floors or low-pile carpet, as well as high surfaces requiring attachments.

Easy to replace parts like cords and hose with wear over time. The perfect choice for someone looking for commercial quality with top-notch performance. A decades-long investment.

I used it for the container and trolley as my old deteriorating plastic housing GS90 used the same motor/vacuum. I did have to clean and dispose of a contaminated filter. I did have to order a new cotton filter.

I was able to use all my accessories such as hoses, filter bags and power sweeping. So now I have a nearly new vacuum.

I’m doing some drywall work and needed something to pick up afterwards. I was using a Craftsman shopvac which worked well until the drywall dust tore small holes in the filter resulting in a lot of drywall dust blowing out the exhaust making a huge mess.

Drywall dust everywhere! This started my search for portable dust extractors. I chose this as I already had some LXT 5ah batteries, it was small and portable, had decent suction, but most importantly had good filtration.

This by far has the best filters out of any portable shopvac per ProjectFarm’s YouTube and other reviews. I have never had any leaks or dust issues once I got this. This hit the mark for my needs. I would call the suction as adequate.

It’s nothing special but it’s enough to pick up nuts and bolts that fit in the nozzle. It won’t draw objects to it like a more powerful corded shopvac would. The hose diameter fits my other smaller shopvac accessories and nozzles, 1.

25” and 1. 5” nozzles both fit. This was a pleasant surprise. I hold a 12′ floor attachment under the sanding sponge, and it catches all of the drywall dust before it hits the floor. I also attached an old camera strap to it so I can hang it over my shoulder and carry it with me.

Doing this has save me time over stairs and other areas where it’s not convenient to set it down. I also use my make-shift strap to hang the vacuum on ladders. I do wish that Makita included the shoulder in the box and not make it an add-on.

I see it as something super cheap for them to include and something that I have used a lot. Great tool for my needs.

I bought this vacuum to use for small clean up jobs from punch list tasks (commercial construction). Initially it worked “ok”, but the drawback is, once the filter (or prefilter) gets coated with drywall dust, the suction drops off dramatically.

I’m using a 5. 0ah battery, fully charged, and frankly it really doesn’t have legs in “HEPA” tasks. Using it for coarser materials like sawdust or basic dirt it’s a bit better. Fine concrete or drywall dust, forget it, don’t bother as you’ll barely coat the filter and the under powered motor can’t draw vacuum through that.

If this was a 36v and had twice the motor, it’d likely be the whip. As is, had I been allowed to “trial run” it, I would’ve passed on the purchase. To add, I’m a die hard Makita fan, pro carpenter for over 30 years and have many, many of their tools with umpteen batteries.

This one disappoints.

I’ve had this vac for over a year now and have been happy with the purchase. Its portable and has a long enough hose for its size. A battery powered vac is a huge convenience, but the suction is less than I was anticipating.

The vac is decently loud and will lose power as the battery level drops. Overall, it works well for small to average cleanups like dust and shavings. One thing to add is the filter seems to have limited distributers and may be hard to replace.

I bought the Atrix vacuum a couple of months ago and so far its superb! The suction is adjustible and provides plenty of suction power for my hardwood floors. The suction is so powerful I adjust it so the vacuum head moves easily as I’m afraid that too much suction may damage the motor as it might with any vacuum cleaner.

The hose is sturdy and does not get detached. The attachment are good, they stay on the vacuum, but could use a little improvement for quality. Also the hard floor attachment is Not for hardwood floors as I think it would scratch them so I purchased a generic horsehair hardwood floor attachment 1/4 inch diameter, it stays on and works great.

For the price of this vacuum its an excellent value. Waiting to see if there are any issues in the future, but so far its excellent. I did alot of research (pricing, reviews) on alot vacuum cleaners so far this one is a winner.

This is a great little vacuum, especially useful in smaller spaces. I have a small house and this is much easier to use, and does a better job than the upright that I used previously. It has bags, so I don’t get a nose full of dust with the every time emptying of the previous upright.

The filtering system on this vacuum is great. I used to dread vacuuming because my back always hurt afterwards (upright vacuum). This vacuum does not cause me back pain. It moves easily and is light.

The amount of suction is adjustable, so no more sucking up entire small area rugs!.

WOW — I am really impressed with this little vacuum cleaner! My apartment is half carpeted, and half with hard floors, and one of the struggles I have had with my older upright bag-less vacuum is that it just scatters anything and everything in its path on the hard surface — like kitty litter.

But this vacuum is AMAZING! I bought it with the intent of using it only for the hard surfaced floors, but I discovered that it was super on the carpet as well, so I am getting rid of my upright and going with this unit as my sole source for cleaning floors — hard or carpeted.

I also used the furniture attachment on a couple of pieces of furniture that my can and I shared, and it cleaned ALL the cat hair with no problem. And then I have a couple of kitty litter-trapping mats underneath my cat’s litter box, and this vacuum cleans and gets ALL the litter out of the fibers of those mats.

My other one would get some of the litter, but I had to go outside and beat the rest out with a broom. This one gets it all! I am one happy customer! This is one cool vacuum cleaner!.

I had a rainbow years ago that got ruined when someone used it and threw it in the closet with water in the reservoir and totally trashed the motor. I inherited the rainbow from my grandmother, and I know she paid about $2k for it, so I knew I would never be able to replace it.

When I saw the Sirena, the whole system was so similar to the rainbow! The hoses and fasteners and everything looked just like my rainbow, but it was less than half the price. I decided to go for it, because I loved how clean the air felt after using a bag less water filter (because dust and hair ARE going to get trapped in water!), and I also loved how you could run it just as an air purifier, and I add fragrance to the water, as well.

One thing I noticed right away was the squeeze-activated self-propel power head. You simple squeeze the handle and it activates and propels the power head. Need to stop the rotating brush for a minute? Just let go of the squeeze trigger.

It’s nice not to have the brush just rotating and wearing on the carpet if you need to stop vacuuming for a second to pick something up, move the canister, etc. The first time I used it, I used my old vacuum first, and I was shocked at the amount of cat hair and dirt I got out of my carpet with the Sirena right after using my old dirt Devil.

I’ve used the bare floor attachment, the turbo head on the stairs and furniture, and the small round brush with the pole extended to vacuum my ceiling blades, and it performed each of those tasks flawlessly.

I won’t lie, the Sirena has actually made vacuuming fun, so I find myself using it a lot more than my old vac, and for a lot more things (I’ll dust more than just ceiling blades). And when I’m done, the air feels clean and smells great.

And since you’re dumping out all the dirty water, that means everything you vacuumed up is getting throw out rather than sitting around in a bag. And the water filter is so great, there’s no telling how long before I have to change my HEPA filter.

Oh, I also tested out the wet vac function and it’s amazing! So much thought in the details with this system! 10/10 would recommend! I also paid with affirm, so it was much easier to budget.

My rainbow vaccum that I purchased 33 years ago is still working but is getting a little worn. We decided to purchase a new water filtration vaccum based on their ability to remove dirt from our carpets.

This time, we tried the Sirena vaccum to save considerable money. The unit arrived and appears to be well thought out and well built. I used it for the first time in our RV and it did a fantastic job.

We have very little carpet but I had to clean the water 3 times based on the amount of dirt it took out of our floors. The foot release on the base is a definite improvement over my old rainbow. The water tank is bigger than my rainbow, and it rolls smoother than my rainbow.

The extendable wands are really nice and the way the power is incorporated into the wand is much better than my rainbow. So far, I am very pleased with our purchase and the 10-year warranty gives me some comfort that the unit will hold up well.

Although we are full-time RVers and have very little carpet now, this unit will replace our Dyson when we get home as our main vaccum for the house. For all you full-time RVers out there, it is amazing how much dirt we track into our 5th wheel.

Campgrounds are usually dusty with a lot of gravel and we do not take our shoes off everytime we come into the RV. This vacuum takes more space to store than the small battery powered Dysons that come with the units but it does an amazing deep cleaning of what little carpet you have.

Our small Dyson that came with the RV makes the entire rig smell like dust and dirt when we vacuum because it just blows the dust out through the back filter. Put a few drops of deodorizer in this vacuum before you start and the entire rig smells fresh when you are done.

This is an old model and got it on sale. I did alot of research and did not want to much on these newest models. I needed to replace a Hoover which died on me. The Hoovers are actually heavier than Sharks I find.

I have carpet and tile floors in my tiny home and suffer from dust allergy. It took me a few minutes to put the parts together as I think I was missing one of the the manuals in my box. The photo of the lady holding the hose is not realistic as the hose you get is a quarter of the length, which is false advertising and Shark should of corrected the photo a long time ago.

The compact head is good for small spaces and I find the large canister helps with air flow and keep suctioning consistent as this is what Shark motors are known for. The swivel is new to me but I can find that it may be annoying and also not be good for seniors or people with mobility issues as the vacuum is not stable and can tip over whenever the hose is taken off.

Again this is an old and basic model and does what I need at the right price point for me.

I needed a new vacuum and heard Shark was great so I got this one based on some reviews. Suction power is FANTASTIC! I was speechless at the amount of dust it pulled from my carpet that I normally vacuum once or twice a week with a basic vacuum cleaner.

I thought my carpet was clean but now it’s nearly brand new! My OCD self really does not like how the entire unit tips over when you pull too much. The suction tubing is long, yet useless. It does not stretch out easy when vacuuming.

If I use both my hands to stretch it out to fix it on the vacuum cleaner it is fine but while operating the vacuum it is not. I bent down to clean a corner with the hose and the vacuum fell onto my head.

Thankfully I kind of noticed it and didn’t really hurt my head. The manual shows you all these accessories that can be used with it but when I go to look up the accessories it doesn’t show those with this model number.

I tried searching for more info on if the attachments fit but couldn’t find anything. Needless to say, I’ll most likely try to sell this model and get another one that best suits me. I love cleaning but definitely will get one that doesn’t tip over so easily – one with a base.

have had this vac for a few years, love the way is picks up. BUT. when using the hose and attachments it constantly falls over and usually on me! it is a great vac, still! but have 3 major problems with it: 1) as mentioned, have had this fall over when using hose on my legs, hips, and back.

PAINFUL! 2) does not fit under much of my furniture; couch, beds, etc. 3) cord always seems fall a little short of where i need it to go. also, from now on power rewind is a requirement! usually in hurry and if i can’t hand wind i find myself tripping over or it is all tangled up.

this was and is a great vac but have come to a point where the above are major irritations. on hunt for new vac, just not sure shark can meet my requirements. especially 1 & 3! still when this first came out i would have recommended, now that time has passed has Shark listened to consumers and followed design advice?.

For the past 10 years, I’ve used the ‘animal’ stick vacuum from the most well known expensive brand in the industry. This is my basis of comparison for writing this review. The Levoit stick vacuum is a tad heavier than the Animal but this is not an issue because this thing glides over the floors effortlessly with almost no need to push.

It almost feels self propelled. Its easily maneuvered around corners and gets closer to edges than the animal. The suction power seems comparable but Levoit has an ‘auto’ power setting which adjusts the suction based on the particles it measures with the little sensor in the front.

There is also a light on the front which I find useful in darker areas. I really like that the power button doesnt need to be held down, its just one push to start. On high power the battery life is short, less than 8 minutes.

But on Auto, it has lasted over 30 minutes. I really like that the battery is removable so I can charge it separately while storing the stick in a closet. It comes with a charging mount, but I dont have outlets in my closet where its stored.

One key feature is the joint in the stick which bends forward so the vacuum head can go under furniture. When bent it goes about 3 feet under our beds and futon. I never once vacuumed under the bed with the Animal so there was a lot to pick up.

The dust bin is also larger than the animal so this means less breaks to empty it. Overall I am pleased to say that I rate this higher than other highly rated stick vacs on the market. It can do everything the animal does and more.

This is THE vacuum. We have had it 18 years and it doesn’t quit. It is worth every penny in initial cost and filter/bag maintenance. Only thing we repurchased was the brush nozzle so we could have one for the shop/basement and one for the living area.

Originally purchased to alleviate a lead dust issue but use it as a house vacuum. It’s so good that we had a large dog and noone would know coming into our house by smell or hair. Have tried other market vacuums for my parents and kids but they are all worthless against this one.

Will be buying a second for my kid’s new home. Yes it is heavy but I carry it up three floors without complaint because it’s that good. Great in shops for sawdust and metal dust.

This is a sturdy vacuum with great suction and filtration. So far by first impressions, it seems very well built. All tools and attachments have been easy to use and have held up after a month of standard use.

The foot on/off switch is very convenient to use. Also the heavier casters and wheels are nice to have when on heavier carpets. My only dislikes with this vacuum are that there is no power cable holder or retractable space.

A 50 ft cable is nice but even just a hook or piece to hang it on would have been nice. There is also no tool holder attachments points.

I love the suction on this vacuum! We bought a new house that was filthy and this vacuum was a champion at sucking up all kinds of stuff. The bag is extremely frustrating to change and the button to turn the vacuum on and off is finicky.

Only drawback is the base will tip over if you stretch the hose too far, so keep an eye on it as you use the wand.

Cleaning stairs is easy with the “Lift Away” feature. The NV501 has strong suction and durability. Do your regular maintenance as other reviews have mentioned, and store it properly. It’s super easy to take apart when needed.

I accidentally sucked up a microfiber cloth once, but was able to open the hose at the right spot and pull the cloth right out. We’ve had our NV501 for almost a decade and still no problems. Have purchased this particular model as gifts for friends and family.

Highly recommended.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleI purchased my Shark Rotator Professional Lift away vacuum several years ago when my old vacuum stopped working. It works perfectly yet. I love seeing results and the fact that you can see through the dirt cup filling up with dust and debris brings much satisfaction.

You can hear it picking up literally the smallest crumbs which I also love. It’s lightweight and swivels so smoothly and it’s low profile base gets under the edges of our beds and recliner very easily without using the hose attachment or moving furniture.

The only downfall which isn’t even an issue because I love this vacuum so much is that the cord isn’t retractable. Both filters are incredibly easy to change too which is huge for efficiency and suction power.

The price seemed about average for vacuums I was looking at. If you’re interested in this but the price is too high for you, wait until around black Friday as I’ve seen these for almost $100 off at Kohls.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleI bought this off Amazon for $269 roughly a year ago after everyone in a Facebook group suggested I check out the shark vacuums. It works so much better than the cheaper vacuums I’ve always bought from Wal Mart.

This one has lights and the sucking power is strong. You can even adjust the suction power with a dial at the top. I don’t bother using any of the attachments when I use the hose and have no complaints.

It does require filters or filter cleanings and the cup on the front pops off for easy disposal. It could be a better design for the pop off compartment so that’s why I’m giving it 4 stars. I always seem to spill just a little when I’m emptying it into the trash.

This vacuum is still going strong and I do recommend it to anyone asking for a great brand. The biggest pro for me is it works on my hardwood floors and my rugs! There’s even an indicator light that flashes red if something had your roller clogged.

This vacuum gets so much more than our old shark. It also doesn’t fall over every time I use the attachments like our old Shark did. I didn’t realize that this vacuum is really meant for carpet so when I use it on tile and laminate the brush doesn’t stop spinning.

It hasn’t scratched any of our floors so I can overlook that. The hose is a little bit of a pain to get out as it sits under the power cord and when using the hose & brush on tile this vacuum is loud.

I’m very happy with the HEPA filter and am amazed at how much this vac picks up. I also like that I can adjust how high the vacuum is on different carpet as we have a high pile rug that’s always been hard to clean.

This vac actually leaves the lines you want in carpet and picks up a ton.

I was looking for a vacuum with manual height adjustment for my “shag” carpet. I read all the reviews on this model and decided to give it a try. While this says “commercial” , I was expecting something built better than mostly plastic parts.

Understanding our changing world , despite observing the lower quality plastic build of this vacuum when I opened the box , I decided I would keep it provided it would do a good job of vacuuming. I tried it out on our bedroom with the shag.

sucked up the dust really well. this thing does have tremendous sucking power ! So far , so good. then I took it to my home office area where the carpet is lower non-shag type. I turned the manual height adjustment from 6 down to 4.

still not low enough so I decided to turn down to 3 or lower. This is when the adjustment wheel decided to “bind up” and would not go to the lower positions. I remember seeing one review that said they had a difficult time with the adjustment wheel.

So , with this issue fresh out of the box and already seeing that the build quality of this vacuum is questionable , I decided to return it. It is a shame. Sanitaire used to build quality stuff but this one is not an example of that.

certainly not worth the $ 300 price tag.

At first I requested a return because the belt had busted. I went to put the spare belt on and after straining really hard to put it on, I fired up the vacuum and it did the exact same thing. I ordered some more belts and when they came in I put one on and man did it go on a whole lot easier.

Fired up the vacuum and no bust! Turned out the belts it came with must’ve been old af. Anyways now I am very happy with my Sanitaire sc899 and I think it was a good buy as you won’t find any sc899 with headlights and the original pancake style metal motor.

We have a smaller split-level house with a mix of Berber carpet, cut-pile area rugs, hard wood, and ceramic tile flooring. This is the first vacuum we’ve ever had that is capable of effectively — even easily — cleaning all those types of flooring.

What is especially appreciated is the ease and effectiveness of vacuuming the Berber carpets. The roller brushes on our previous vacuums would invariably catch on the loops of the Berber and render the cleaner impossible to use without causing damage to the carpet.

With the Sanitaire, we are able to dial in the exact height necessary to effectively clean the carpet without doing any damage. Another plus for this vacuum is the extremely long cord, which allows us to plug in the cleaner to an outlet in the middle of the house and still reach every corner of the house.

The suction is especially strong, and it works great at easily sucking up all the dog and cat hair from the carpets and upholstery. Additionally, the HEPA filter seems to do the trick of keeping dust from exiting the vacuum as is evident from no noticeable dust on furniture surfaces after vacuuming (something we always encountered with our previous vacuums).

The vacuum was easy to assemble, and it is very easy to use. The build quality is quite good, and it feels like you are working with a true commercial-duty machine.

Quieter: Much quieter than anything I’ve owned. I didn’t realize how loud my previous vacuums were. I don’t mean you’d be happy to run it in the bedroom of your toddler during his naptime, but it is quieter than most vacuums.

Cleaner: Because it uses a bag, it doesn’t spew dust everywhere. I’ve used bagless vacuums for years, and I now realize that part of the reason my home was always dusty was because those idiot vacuums spread the dust around.

Not this one though. Suction: Outstanding. I can see it lift the carpet up and vibrate it while sucking dirt. Very gratifying. Tools: The tools are sufficient without being ridiculous. You’ve got a hose, a couple of extension wands, a brush and crevice tool.

Anything beyond that is overkill. Oh, and the extra long cord is much appreciated in my big split-level house. Weight: It’s lightweight-ish. Not Oreck XL light, but very manageable. Wishes: I wish that there was a way to lock it in the horizontal position for when I’m vacuuming the stairs.

I think if it did that, it’d be perfect. (Well, actually, perfection would be if it would vacuum the house all by itself, but that’s probably a much MUCH pricier option. ).
