20 Best Heavy Duty Plant Caddy (2023 Updated)

I got 2 groups of these (8 in total) to move my plants around on the deck to get more sunlight. They are great, very sturdy and attractive. There was “some assembly required” to attach the wheels but it was very easy to do.

I am thinking about getting more.

Plant caddies are sturdy enough for my big patio pots so I can roll them in and out of shade. They have locks in the wheels if there is a slope involved.

Like how low profile these are. In other words, you barely know they’re there if you get the size that is only slightly larger than your pot bottom. I got 14 and 16 inches for two sized pots. I have a very heavy pot in particular and I love how easy they are to roll around now.

I will be able to sweep detritus away from the corners of my porch. I also love these marking they have on each leg. They are barely noticable raised arcs of the plastic. They help you determine if your pot is centered.

You can check each leg and see how much leg is sticking out on each of the five legs and thereby center it perfectly without measuring.

The stand is very sturdy. It is best used on completely flat surfaces. It does not roll great across seams or in my case a wooden deck. The plant slides on the surface of the stand and sometimes drops off the edge as I rotate it in the sun every few days.

I would expect the same problem on carpet unless it is a very tight or minimal weave. They need to make the top surface with better grip as the plant slides across much too easily.

I bought these Caddies to replace some less expensive caddies, I had been using for years. They just looked sturdier than the ones I had. The wheels are much better & they show a weight of 500 lbs can be put on them.

Once they arrived I loved them & ordered 3 more times. I even got some for my daughter. If you are tired of replacing broken wheels, buy these you won’t regret it.

This makes so easy to move large planter pots. The saucer at the bottom to hold excess water is a nice touch. We move our pots around a lot, particularly to protect them from heavy rains, so this saves us back pain lifting and carrying heavy pots.

We have it on our deck that has wide spaces between some of the the deck boards, so be careful if the spacing is too wide, the caddy will topple. Not a problem with the caddy, it’s a problem with our old deck!.

OMG. WHAT a plant caddy. Truly exceptional. You plop your plant on top and the wheels allow you to slide it anywhere you like. Truly an age of wonders. This is the plant caddy your grandmother could only dream of owning.

Don’t walk. RUN to Canadian Tire and buy this thing. Then buy a few more for Christmas. Life changing.

I ordered this roller cart for my plants. Actually ordered two both at different times. First one came nicely packed shredded paper around to protect it. But no slip or receipt for purchase. Second one came in a untapped box no protection or no receipt again.

The product worked but I’m so tired of the carelessness of the packing I’ve had to repackage things to send back in different boxes. Sad every thing goes down hill even QVC.

This item was on back order for quite some time but was worth the wait. I needed something to hold my beautiful heavy plant off of my wood deck floor so that the wood wouldn’t rot. I wanted something that wasn’t ugly and didn’t obscure the planter that sat on it.

Plus, this has wheels so the heavy planter can be moved if needed but secured when in place. Perfect. I’d buy again if needed.

I was happy to find these plant caddies at a reasonable price. I purchased a 20″ over 5 years ago at a nursery and wanted more. I purchased three, 14″ from Walmart. com and they were the exact same brand.

These are extremely sturdy and I do believe they can hold up to the 300lbs they advertise. They are steady and solid rollers. I have a 24″ top-rimmed pot on one and the large caddy can hold a much larger pot than that.

I can push them around when needed for patio cleaning and moving the plants in and out of sunlight if needed. I leave them outside in spring, summer, fall. Of my own preference, I don’t leave them out in winter.

I believe you could but as with anything exposed to freezing and thawing the life of the item shortens. I will say, they are black and industrial looking and if you pot foot is smaller than the caddy will be exposed.

If that would bother you, you may consider spray painting it to blend in with your décor.

We purchased several of these to replace some worn out redwood caddies. The black color and star shape become low profile underneath our oversized pots. We are looking forward to these lasting a long time and being easier to clean.

We were easily able to align the center hole with the drainage on the pots.

I purchased several of these to use for plants and to use to stack buckets on in my storage area so I could easily move same to access the shelves that they sit in front of. They work beautifully. (I saw a review that said they didn’t have wheels.

ALL six of the ones I received had wheels and also a wheel lock if you desire to use. ) They also work well under large house plants to easily move to clean and to rotate in front of a window every few days for even sunlight.

I am very happy with my purchase.

At this stage I’m really reviewing the sales process and initial appearance – bot of which are excellent. Can’t say anything about performance yet.

Ideal for a square pot, sturdy and easy to move. Makes changing your pots around no problem at all.

Better quality than our previous wood ones

I’ve purchased many of these over the past 4 1/2 years – this is the 14th one – and they have all held up wonderfully. They are all used outside or in the greenhouse, and none of the rollers have fallen out and still roll nicely (unfortunately for me, my porches are saltillo tile with deep grooves in places, so this does affect the “rolling”; however, on smoother surfaces – i.

e. the greenhouse – the stands roll nicely). I bought this large stand to hold an 8 ft. tall plant and hopefully help it maintain upright stability in our heavy winds. But, I’ve also found many other uses for these gems: I keep bags of birdseed in the greenhouse in large garbage cans, and with one of these under the can, I can easily roll it to wherever I need it; also, I have also found that it makes storage of potting soil so much easier as I can stack the unopened large, heavy bags horizontally on top of two of these rolling stands and move them in and out from under the shelving.

Built perfectly for heavy plants or anything really. Love the 5 wheel set up so much better than others I have used before. One could use this plant caddy for many different things glides with ease in any direction.

Sturdy. Rolls nicely Put a stacked planter on it so we can roll it in and out of the garage each night and morning to keep the deer and critters from eating the veggies. Perfect fit for this use.

I bought these for two half wine barrel planters and they are working perfectly. They are sturdy and the 5 or 6 wheel dolly sets roll very easily across an uneven faced natural Cambridge paver patio.

much better than 4 wheel dolly sets that I have. The solid wheels do not mark/leave residue on the pavers at all. My last concern is how they will hold up to UV and only time will tell.

Too small for the planter I bought it for but was able to use it with a different plant. Nice decorative detail.

Not the quality I expected. The wheels lock with the weight of the planter on it. To much money for what you get. At best this is an average item.

I like the fact that these saucers hold water. We didn’t necessarily want our deck to get the drips from watering. Good price!

it is easy to move a heavy plant,rolling rather than pulling across a table cloth.

These are the best made plant caddies I’ve ever purchased. They are very sturdy with decent wheels that make moving heavy plants from one location to another a snap. Over time I have switched all my old wooden plant caddies to these.

The first Down Under Plant Caddies I bought several years ago, for outside plants, have held up very well. The wheels still turn and roll almost as easily as they did new. No problems, just a little rust from being wet a lot here in Florida.

I expect to get many years service from these. I highly recommend them.

These are not sturdy at all. I have pretty big plants that I wanted to pull in and out of the sun on our deck – and while this does elevate it so it can drain well, it is very impractical to move it.

I have searched high and low for sturdy ones – so I’m not sure where to look now. Bummer – but not worth the price of these for sure.

I own so many of these I can’t count them. I started my first container veggie garden on my porch and let me tell ya, these help tremendously!!! I have them toting around 14″, 16″ and smaller grow bags/containers and they all fit beautifully! They will hold much bigger than the size stated.

Very happy with my purchases. I will be ordering more today. My only word of advice, drill holes in them or your plants may sit in water for extended periods.

This is my second purchase of these plant dollies. I was initially concerned about the weight capability claims and the integrity of the casters / rollers. Turns out that the weight is not a problem and I have to believe that the manufacturer’s claim is accurate.

The rollers are well made, rotate easily and lock in place when needed. The clear plastic base is sturdy enough for my needs. The water overflow sections on the underside are a great idea and protect the deck from being stained from overflow.

Have to say that I have bought other products in the past but this one is great quality and offers a big bang for the buck.

I had hoped to use this plant caddy on my patio with a planter and my patio umbrella and base. I thought I could stay within the 180lb limit but it was a strain on the caddy. My project was just too ambitious for this caddy.

If you just want to put a large planter filled with soil and a plant on this and move it slightly here and there then this is prefect! It’s clear so it’s attractive and will match all decor and it rolls well if you keep the weight under 100 lbs but it does better on a smooth surface.

The wheels are too small and delicate to handle textured paver patios. I also found it awkward to reach underneath the caddy to lock and unlock the wheels.

Heavy duty. I followed some others and drilled some holes for water to seep out. I also found some flexible tubing in the plumbing department and placed in wheel area to use as stopper so wheels do not move.

I could not find replacement lock wheels in the same size. This method works great. If you are concerned that the 500 lb. load will not work, place small pavers under dolly a little shorter than dolly–you can move pavers when dolly needs to be moved or if dolly starts to bend you will have support.

Can’t beat the price of this dolly. I am using for about 375 lbs. Very Happy!.

Exactly what was expected and needed. Strong and maneuverable. I’m using them to move my 1/2 barrel beer kegs around in walk in cooler. Will do business again. Thanks.

I have had two of these on my deck for years. They hold up great in all kinds of weather. I never take them in. I prefer to use mine to hold a small terracotta dish of birdseed or peanuts for the birds.

I even hang wind chimes from the bottom of them. And hang solar lights from them too. Neighbors have even asked where I had purchased them.

Do yourself a favor and buy the corner plant caddy for your deck! Great value for the price. I have slightly uneven deck railings and with these plant caddies it’s not noticeable at all. nothing to assemble, use right out of the package.

I was pleasantly surprised by this plant caddy. The quality of the material was excellent, more like the material of yesteryear. Its a cinch to use, just find a good corner and place it on it. I found it to hold up to 4 small plants.

I use it for my starter tomato plants and my African violet for the summer. The only con is its size. It could be bigger and still be easy to use and of good quality. I’d love to put more plants on one of these.

No problem from order to delivery I have only positive things to say about the items I order from LTD. I have enjoyed everything I ihave purchased for many years! This is a really nice plant container, easy to put together I have many plants to choose from that will go here.

Love the stacked planters and thought the base with wheels would help me move it around when needed. NOT. the base is way too flimsy for the tiered planter. Plus there it does not have drainage holes so the bottom planter is in too much water.

I recommend the planters, but NOT the base with wheels!.

I purchased both the three stacked planters and the base with wheels. The 3 stacked planters are awesome but the base with wheels is very flimsy and warped. When I added my strawberry plants it leaned in an alarming way! Planters are fine without the base.

Save your money on the base. They need to make it sturdier.

The stackable part would be fine but the planters don’t stay together. Also I didn’t purchase the bottom on rollers because review stated it was not sturdy. I will need to purchase planter saucers because of the drain holes.

I bought this flower tower a couple months ago. Great price. Cool idea. The bottom tray should have 4 wheels, though, as the weight of full, stacked layers tended to make it stand a bit lopsided and unstable.

I’m still happy I got it.

2 plants caddies came in a box that’s 5 times bigger than the size of the caddies. 4 out of the 8 wheels broke into pieces. Needs better packing. Use little more common sense when packing. It’s not rocket science! Just need to do the job with some work ethics and little more thoughts.

My wife has a really large plant that she loves to keep indoors. It’s not a problem, really. It’s a decent looking plant and it has some sentimental value (although I’m not really sure what the attachment is) and it weighs about 30 lbs.

Anyway, about once a week (or more) I have to help her move it from it’s viewable position in the living room to the bathroom so it can be properly watered (in the bathtub, of course). Moving the plant is not too bad of an issue but I’m getting older and getting the plant to water is becoming hard on my back.

Imagine the 2 of us doing the little ‘baby step’ walk moving this beast the 20 feet or so to the tub to get its’ weekly watering. I came across this iron plant caddy and thought that it could improve my life and it absolutely has.

The plant in question stays permanently on the caddy now and it’s really easy to wheel it to the bathtub for its’ watering. It is effortless to roll the plant down the hall and a 10 second job to lift the plant from the caddy into the bathtub and my back is better because of it.

Because the caddy is all cast iron it is really strong and rolls easily across the floor. Once the plant is back in position the 4 wheel locks are engaged and it won’t move again until it needs watering the next time.

I don’t see how you can go wrong purchasing this caddy if you have some heavy plants to move on a regular basis. It definitely made my life easier.
