14 Best Heavy Duty Drywall Anchors (2023 Updated)

I use this anchor all over the house and it is the easiest, strongest anchor you can find. Follow the instructions – hammer it into the wall and use the screws provided and it works every time. I have used these since they came out in 2008 and never had any issues.

Don’t know what the other guy’s low rating is about, but they obviously did not follow the really simple directions.

Used this to install a large mirror and my kid hammered them into the wall. No mess and no hassle. Love this anchor.

Drill a hole, push the toggle Anchor in tighten the provided screw and you are done! Works great!

Unable to bend the plastic. Once i try to blend it, it was broken 3 of 5 pieces. Super poor design.

Best value for the these anchors anywhere! Far cheaper than at a big box store like home depot. My only issue is some will be broken in the package, maybe upwards of 5, but it’s still worth it for the price and convenience of not having to run the store all the time.

I use these anytime I have to hang a TV on drywall where studs aren’t convenient or aren’t made of wood (damn steel studs). I’ve also hung heavy mirrors and cabinets using them. They do take a little getting use to.

Sometimes I mess them up when pushing them through the wall and have to get a new one. They also do leave a bigger hole than most anchors, but if you have anything over 100 pounds or might get a lot of stress on it, this is the only way to go if it has to be in drywall or plaster.

Wanted to install a sturdy support for our tub and shower,after a “spill”. I Purchased these wingits from walmart site,in stalled them with a 24″ grab bar. onto a fiberglass tub wall. 1st time user. these are a great way of of getting a safe and secure mounting of a grab bar.

Feel a lot safer now in tub/shower.

Tried to mount the 55″ set without the Snap togglers and could not get a secure hold in just the dry wall. Saw these recommended by installation experts on You Tube. First you must drill a 1/2″ hole in the dry wall.

Second you must slide the Snap Toggler through the drill hole and make certain it is secured. I recommend you watch a video before attempting to install the Snap Togglers in the wall as there is a tricky part to the installation when you must slide the plastic holder down the two attachments after insertiing and securing the metal end into the dry wall.

When you have slipped the plastic piece all the way to the wall, you then snap off both sides of the plastic holder (ergo snap). You are now ready to attach the item via the screws that come with the Snap Toggler.

The most amazing thing is that an item up to 250 pounds can be held by one of these amazing Snap Togglers. Tools needed are a drill, 1/2″ bit and a phillips head screw driver.

Worked great to hang a 20lb projector. Did not work while hanging a 42″ plasma. I used it in place of 1 of the 4 lag bolts that came with the mount. After putting the weight on the plate, i could hear the drywall ripping as the mount was tearing from the wall.

I still had 3 lag bolts into studs, but the 42″ plasma on an articulating mount proved to be too much for it. I wouldn’t have trusted the toggle bolts by them selves, but I would have guessed replacing one lag bolt with one toggler rated at 256lbs would have been fine.

it was not. otherwise, quick installation, stronger than most toggle bolts, decent product.

I have used literally thousands of these. Sure you get some that pop off, but the vast majority worked like a charm. You can’t just yank the straps. You must get positive contact with the substrate then slide the plastic washer to the wall.

I use the back side of a utility knife blade to get an extra tight set. Then the trick is to hand start the screw into the toggle. Drill your hole through your material a 32nd larger so you can turn it by hand.

You will never cross-thread a toggle this way. Then drive it home. A couple turns beyond snug is all you need. These are amazing and hold very well. I do professional hotel installations.

Easy to use, as it has 2 supports it is easier to control and get screw/bolt in easier than other single support.

As soon as the bolt hit the thread in the wall it would bind, casing would snap, and anchor would fall into the wall. Or the bolt would be slightly threaded and now stuck in the wall. I had to cut a lot of bolts and let the anchors fall back in the wall.

I was trying to use this as a snap cap for 22LR dry fire, but the rim is narrower and thinner than usual. So it will not stay put in the magazine, and the firing pin will push the anchor into the barrel.

The rim is about 0. 23″ wide, while the rims on the ones I previously purchased in-store were around the same as a 22LR case, 0. 27″. Can still be used as a drywall anchor.

I’m a electrician and also do lot of handyman work. It works very good on drywall, do not spin with power tool. It also work different size of screw.

Although not intended for its design, this plastic anchor is the exact size of a. 22LR round, and works/cycles well as snap caps for the. 22LR firearms. It keeps my Sig Mosquito rim-fire semi-auto pistol’s firing ping and chamber safe.

I’ve been using these anchors for 3 years and have seldom been disappointed with the outcome. I’m a volunteer with the Rebuilding Together group and assist low income home owners, most of them living in old brick homes.

Most frequently I’m anchoring grab bars around bath tubs. Finding a stud in the right place for a wood screw is pretty hit and miss. Quite frequently we need to mount through plastic, ceramic tile, plaster, and whatever’s behind that, all in one install.

When we use the right drill bit these anchors will get into and behind the layer and give a secure fix. I start with a smaller drill bit and ifI get lucky and hit wood, I just go with that and save the Alligator for the next hole.

I’ll also mention that these work quite well in wood holes that won’t holda wood screw. That beats stuffing pieces of wood into the enlarged hole and hoping for the best. The Alligator appears to be made of nylon and is far superior to plastic anchors.

I started using plastic anchors over 55 years ago and these are with out a doubt the best I ever used . Menards quit carrying them so I buy them on line now.

These are easy to use, and they are as strong s the surface you fasten them to. You will not break them before the wall you fasten them to.

Be careful not to overtighten these as the top will crack off. Not suitable for more than a couple of pounds. Plastic is thin and flimsy. No problem installing but they do not snug up to the wall as tight as the ones that I bought from the store.

They are much better than the push in drywall anchors.

These are unquestionably the best type of anchors available. Easy to install and hold reliably. I would recommend.

This is a great little pack of wall anchors, in various sizes. This is a STEAL of a value when that magical “30% off anything under $10” sale/coupon comes around. I, personally, like the fact that these anchors DO NOT have a lip around the fastener entry hole, so that it’s easier to mount flush in drywall, without damaging the wall itself.

Is it something I use daily, no, but this handy kit is packaged in a nifty plastic case and fits nicely on either a wall peg, in my US General 5-drawer tool cart, or in the toolbox in the back of my truck.

Get you some of these anchors!!.

There is no flange on the end. Push one into a hole and it falls right through into the wall. TOTALLY USELESS. DO NOT BUY. WASTE OF MONEY!!!!! Just rotate in the hole when the screw is inserted. No grip.

The end should be wider to prevent them from being pushed entirely into the wall. When choosing a hole size for these, the hole is generally either too small and these anchors bend when trying to push them in, or too big and they fall into the hole when screwing into them.

Other wall anchors have a large end so they cannot be pushed into the wall.

The current stock of 65mm Hollow Wall Anchor is for Double Layer plasterboard not for single layer as the will be loose in the wall with single layer. It does not state that in the description. This applies to both the M5 and M6 versions.

I spotted that before I opened the packets and returned them. If you check the gap between the screw head bottom and where the folding part starts, it needs to be 12-15mm for single layer and 24 to 27mm for double layer.

Singe layer is most common usage. The will work fine in double layer plasterboard. They won’t work at all in single layer.

Bought some after some rawl plugs became loose on a wall fitting. Rather than drilling a new hole I just bought a larger screw and this fits the bill. This wall anchor would fit on a 10 mm hole and plasterboard between 12.

5 to 15mm thickness. Toolstation could do better product descriptions on the website. I’ve noticed this a clearance item. Please stock more hollow wall anchors.

I was worried that I wouldn’t find a suitable fixing but these were perfect, easy to use (I would recommend using the proper tool to expand the fitting in the cavity, which you can buy from Toolstation).

It made the job easy and produced a really firm hold.

Used recently to fix a large heavy mirror, a couple of shoe cabinets and a long shelf to plasterboard walls. The speed and simplicity of fixing the anchor plugs, and the support strength they offer, was amazing.

I was trying to put up blinds by screwing into the area above the window. I had tried other type fittings including plaster board plugs and mini bolts but due to the small cavity I had available nothing was suitable.

I took a chance on these and did have to trim them down but they screwed in tight and my blinds were mounted with no trouble. I did use some pilot holes and a bit of paint did flake off but that can be rectified.

These are brilliant for plasterboard walls. So easy to install and fantastic at hanging items like curtains, pictures etc on the wall. I would recommend theses to anyone!
