20 Best Heavy Duty Brush Cutter (2023 Updated)

This Honda is my 3rd one. The first one I used was the 25cc from a local tool rental place. I loved it. It is a 4cycle engine so no mixing oil with gas. Basically maintenance free and starts on the first or second pull about every time.

I prefer the 25cc. It is lighter than the 35cc. I have had both. The only reason I have owned three is because a guy that worked for me ran over the first one. Then the second one was not secured and fell out of my truck on the highway.

I am sure I would still have the first one if I was still using under normal wear and tear.

Today I opened my new Honda line trimmer to use for the first time. Trimmer started and wouldn’t run at full rpm as engine keeps sputtering. Has fresh gas, same gas used in my Honda mower when I mowed today, engine sputters more when it is trimming grass.

Bump head doesn’t advance line when tapped in the yard but will feed out line after hitting it HARD on the asphalt driveway. Reviews are correct about the bump head being junk. Trimmer is on the heavy side compared to prior trimmers I have owned.

I purchased this as I wanted a 4 cycle trimmer without messing with mixing oil & gas. I may have made a mistake especially if engine doesn’t stop sputtering and will have to take to be checked out. Would like Honda to respond concerning other complaints of engine sputtering and lack of power if this has been an issue with other HHT25SLTAT 4 cycle line trimmers and what corrections need to be made to correct this condition.

Or is this a Lemon??.

I previously wrote a less-than glowing review on this trimmer shortly after purchasing it. It was not published and I’m glad, because now that I’ve been using it regularly, my opinion has changed. Compared with my 2-stroke trimmer, this is much quieter, especially since I only need to run it at half throttle.

My 2-stroke also shook a lot, especially at lower rpm’s. At higher rpm’s the shaking turned into high frequency vibration; this Honda is very smooth throughout the entire rpm range. It’s probably a pound and a half heavier than my 2-stroke, but when you adjust the loop handle properly, the balance is perfect, so the extra weight is hardly noticeable.

Because of the stock trimmer head reviews, I never used it, opting instead to install a speed-feed head. It mates perfectly with this trimmer, requiring none of the included adapters. As far as the cold starting procedure, I followed the steps in the manual and that’s what initially aggravated me; it would not start with the choke closed.

I see from several other reviews I am not alone in this regard. I finally discovered a cold starting procedure that has worked consistently for me. Pull it once with the choke closed, then pull it with the choke open.

It has cold-started on the second pull every single time with this technique; first pull always when warm, of course. It would be nice if Honda installed a momentary stop switch which automatically returns to the start position, instead of the slide-style one they use, but it’s functional.

All in all, this is a pretty nice trimmer. The engine is certainly a proven design, so I’m not anticipating any problems with it for quite awhile.

I used this brush cutter for the first time today. Cutting through briar thickets. Worked a lot better than I expected. Bought 2 extra off brand batteries to test how long the worx batteries would last.

Sadly the off brand batteries lasted almost twice as long. Both are 4. 0ah batteries. But again the brush cutter worked awesome.

After nearly two weeks of waiting on FedEx for the brush cutter that I need for conservation work tomorrow, I discovered that 1) the instructions are incorrect in the order of parts assembly, 2) the instructions are really just poorly done and 3) the lock-nut does NOT fit/is poorly/incorrectly threaded, which makes my brush cutter totally useless.

It’s also possibly that the threaded drive shaft could be the issue but I’m betting that it’s the nut. All that time and money on a tool order ($800+) for a 5am project start time and after hours of patiently trying, I’ve concluded that I cannot do the only thing planned for tomorrow.

which is to clear the brush for greater access to the area. And I’ve yet to find a link that will allow me to email Work or open a support ticket. First time I’ve had an issue with a Worx product and I own pretty much everything Worx has ever made.

What an epic disappointment in Quality Control and available customer service options. Ideally, Worx would ship me the drive head with a nut screwed onto the driveshaft and a return label in the package for me to return the existing drive head and lock-nut.

Sending me a lock-nut does not guarantee a fix. Looks like I’ll have to stop my work to deal with this during working hours since there’s no other obvious means of communication/complaint.

I bought this almost 3 weeks ago and I had the chance to use it last weekend. It is much more powerful and get the work done in less time compared to my worx edger/ trimmer which I also like. as an all around tool.

Having multiple worx tools makes home and lawn maintenance a breeze.

I’ve used this 5/6 times since purchasing last month, using the recommended fresh premixed gas. This trimmer works really well and delivers great performance for mowing heavy grass, edging, light brush etc.

However everything in between is troublesome, this trimmer is very temperamental at startup. Even following the cold startup instructions to the letter – repeated priming, choke and pulls are required.

Even once it’s warmed it’s still finicky – going from idle engine speed to full throttle causes the engine to bog down and stalls every time. You have to stagger the throttle up slowly over a 4-5 seconds to avoid this.

This is very annoying, because it’s very easy to stall the engine , and you have to pull the rip cord 2/3 times to get it going again. For me – this is a deal breaker. I plan on returning this asap!.

The Husqvarna 329L is a well made string trimmer and performs well. However, I have two issues with this model. The first issue is with the string replacement spool for the T35 trimmer head, though the spool is larger than on my previous Husqvarna trimmer replacing the string on the spool is more cumbersome.

The second issue is that the trimmer vibrates more than my previous trimmer.

Trimmer gets very hot near the plug wire and burns the back of your forearm after a few minutes of use. Fuel take is too small for the 25cc engine. Had to refuel before finishing trimming at my 1. 5 acre property.

Love husqvarna and have never had these problems before.

Perfect for the cost to leave your yard well groomed. The only con is the instructions on how to assemble some of the tools. My husband is a suburb with mechanical work but fussed the whole assembly.

Used for cutting cow grass co4.it was good and gives long life in usage using almost 3months with daily usage of 20to 30 minutes. It Cutts paddy also.

I purchased this brush cutter 2 months ago to clear an overgrown and neglected property I purchased. There were many briars, vines, small trees and tall grasses. This thing went through it all with ease.

Easy starting and surprisingly quiet. I’ve ran about 12 to 15 tanks of fuel and have had zero issues despite the abuse I’ve put it through. I purchased several other Husqvarna pieces of equipment ( chainsaw, hedge trimmer, string trimmer) and this one has been by far the most used.

I can see it lasting a long time.

I bought this trimmer late last season, and really put it to work this year. The harness is simple to put on and off, and really saves the back. I trim literally miles of stone walls, hills, and occasional brush with a blade, and it runs flawlessly, seldom requiring more than one pull to start.

Best of all, it will handle heavy string, and one spool lasts for a tank of fuel, which goes a long way. The spools are easy to load, a snap to replace, and the string advance works flawlessly. I seldom write reviews, but this is a great product!.

Purchased this to clear areas that have gotten so overgrown the bushes have turned into trees. It’s a heavy unit, so make sure you get the harness. Even then, a full day of cutting brush puts a strain on your back and arms.

But that’s the only negative thing I can say. This cutter handles everything up to 3-inch trees, maybe even more if you’re patient. I’d use my Husqvarna chain saw for the larger stuff. Cutting through thick tangled brush with the saw blade is like cutting through grass with a string trimmer.

Just swing it back and forth and watch it just eat through it. 1-inch trees are nothing. It really makes quick work in a marshy area where something like a Billygoat or pull behind can’t get at. I suggest picking up at least one additional wood cutter blade.

Like anything, they do need to be sharpen and I typically change it out after about 5 to 6 hours of cutting if there is a lot of 1 to 2 inch trees. Switch to the string trimmer attachment and taking on tall grass along the fence line or even thick weeds and it never bogs down.

Plenty of power. There is a star type blade you could use for that, but the string trimmer easily handles it. So you would think that with such a large engine it would be difficult to start. Not at all.

I have never had to pull more than once to get mine to start right up. Noise and vibration are very reasonable. I still use headphones. Exhaust is not blowing back in your face either. The one item I wish I could find in the US is the “Husqvarna Brushcutter Shredder Blade” attachment.

You can find what I’m talking about up on Youtube. I think it’s deemed to dangerous to use in the US, so they don’t sell it here. Like most Husqvarna machines, built to last and they are always improving on the designs.

This is a crazy powerful. Fast RPM, so fast it will spin the string trimmer head apart. (on my 2nd) So I no longer bump feed them, which is fine because it take string which is basically steel cable.

6ft of string last forever cutting grass. That being the bad, the good far outweighs being too powerful. It starts everytime on 92 mixed with boat 2stroke oil. Mostly on the first pull. (2nd & 3rd if its cold out) Its blade is a bit difficult to figure out the first time, but after a few swaps it’s simple as 1,2,3.

It will cut anything you point it at. Including you. (Be Careful!) Wear goggles & boots, the best of homedepot/lowes is still far below this machine. I went through 5 bigbox store weedeaters before walking into the husqvarna dealer and saying “Sell me something I won’t regret” It was a bit pricey, but the sting went away when it never failed me and never bogged down when it got deep.

I cut through 1/4 mile of creek brush like it wasn’t there. It’s heavy for a reason. Any lighter and it would run away or be underpowered. So, IMO this is a perfect machine for anything.

I bought this unit back in 2019 to help clear the forests out around my house and make some new trails. When it came to the wood saw this unit is king, but when I transferred over to the brush (grass) blade and trimmer whipper you get to see the main defect in the design.

The way the trimmer guard attaches to the bevel gear case should be a product defect. What will happen is if you ever slightly bump the trimmer guard (which you will do) the single screw that holds it on will sheer off and become stuck in the gear case.

You will then have to remove a broken screw which may not be possible, if you cant get it out your going to have to spend $100+ on a new bevel gear housing. The trimmer guard should attach the same way the wood saw blade guard attaches by clamping on to prevent this kind of problem.

If the trimmer guard attached with a proper functional and robust design I would recommend this to anyone, but based on spending 4+ hours trying to remove a single screw and then still having to spend almost 20% of the cost of this unit within the first week of owning it due to this I cannot in good faith recommend it until this design defect is resolved.

For anyone that wants to look at the part themselves look at 5440876-01 (clap thing with 2 screws 1 for bevel gear 1 for trimmer guard), which screws into 5372959-02 (bevel gear housing) that will attach 5373316-03.

Specifically the screw 5032002-10 for the Bevel Gear needs to be redesigned.

This is a $600-700 power tool. After sporadic uses in less than 3 months, and 3 Husqvarna canned gas uses (purchased at different times), it seized up on me. I took it to my local small engine repair shop, who’s great at what he does, and he’s still fighting with the warranty department about getting it repaired.

If they do not honor it, then it will cost me over $200 to have it fixed. It was not misused or abused and was maintained properly. I did everything right, even using their canned gas. Depending on how their warranty department responds depends on if I’ll ever buy another Husqvarna power tool (and I still need a few more for my projects).

Until then, I would not recommend anybody purchase this.

To the person that wrote a book of a review and said it was a terrible trimmer you should know that it isn’t rocket science. If you can’t operate this trimmer without rigging the safety components then you really don’t need to operate this, or anything thing that causes you to have this many complaints.

This trimmer is actually very well designed and very easy to use for the normal every day person. My wife is 100bls soaking wet and 5’4″ and has zero problems using this trimmer as it was intended. If you have this much trouble with a piece of equipment that is this simple may I suggest save your money and do not another trimmer, sale this one and, hire a lawn cutting company to do your yard.

You will be much happier with less injuries. I just feel sorry for the poor crew that gets screwed with your contract. Smh. Ps this trimmer is awesome! Great job echo!.

Simply the best. My last echo trimmer model, of the same model, lasted me over 20 years with only basic maintenance needed. I used for 7 years as a landscaper and then mainly on my on yard. Literally 1000s of times I used the 20 year model finally started having trouble though the engine is just fine still.

I just had to get another one. It’s even better if that’s possible. Those who give a bad score here are either fake or just don’t know how to use a trimmer. I’m sure this will be the last trimmer I ever have to buy.

I’ve yet to find another company on the planet that takes such pride in providing perfect quality and customer service for their product if ever needed. Thank you Echo for setting such a high standard.

I’ve had the srm 225 straight shaft for two seasons now and it’s the best trimmer I’ve owned. Great power to weight ratio and good balance. I have only two minor issues, the D-handle works loose is one.

The other is a common problem on many trimmers. There is a gap between the head and the shaft gear box that allows long grass to wind up until it stops the rotation and must be cleared by hand. I know many folks remove the shield to eliminate this issue.

Seems like the Echo engineers could devise a way to shield the gap.

Powerful motor with two speeds means that the brush cutter line clears through some quite thick material. Recently trimmed an area of very overgrown garden and it dealt with the long grass easily. I think the guard could be smaller so that you have more cord cutting at the base of the material rather than the guard pushing over the grass etc.

The cord seems good and it is ridiculously easy to load the spindle. I cut off a length of cord and then folded it in half and wound the cord The 54V batteries don’t seem to last that long, but it is surprising how quickly the cutter clears an area so two batteries should keep you going.

One thing to note. The 5713 does not have a kit for attaching the brush cutter blade (the brush cutter kit is only for the 571). The drive shaft is not long enough for the adaptor kit and does not have the hole for the safety pin.

You could of course fit a brush cutter using the kit and use large washers to hold the blade instead of the supplied spindle washer but there is a real danger that the blade would not be centered on the shaft.

At this stage I am actually not sure if the blade is that necessary.

I though that I should write a review on this strimmer as it is very hard to find anything online. I am running this with a 9amp 54v battery with Oregon 2. 4mm round cord. I have couple of petrol strimmers, Stihl 2 stroke and a Makita and Honda 4 stroke.

I must confess that about 18 months ago I had concluded that the 4 stroke strimmers were the way forward as they seemed to have more torque, quieter and more efficient on fuel and no stinky 2 stroke fumes.

This was until I used the Dewalt 54v Flexvolt strimmer. Make no mistake this is no 4 stroke strimmer in terms of power and torque but it is now my go to strimmer. It is very good and and has about 15 hours use already and seems to be holding up well.

I used up the fitted 2mm Dewalt cord and replaced it with Oregon 2. 4mm round. I have always used Oregon and found their cord to be really good and also very cheap for a large roll. Loading the cord is easy with the quick load system and seems to feed ok as well.

I have used the strimmer on mainly edging lawns and the odd area of thicker glass but no brambles although they do say you can use the blade for this. I am quite lucky as I have the Dewalt platform for other tools so had a couple of the 54 volt batteries already.

I also have the dual charger which makes it very handy and quick to charge 2 batteries at once. I would say that I get about 30 mins constant use on each battery and haven’t had any issues with it but have only been using it on grass.

If you have a small garden the a single battery and charger should be fine. I do keep the cooling vents clean after each use with the use of a stiff brush and also clean the inside of the guard. The machine is well weighted and I do use an aftermarket harness which I had to purchase seperatley.

I have the folding version of the strimmer, DCM5713N but assume that it is the same motor as the DCM571. Also to note if you register online you get a 3 year warranty with the tool. Pros – Light, quiet, no fumes, grab and use, good enough for light to medium strimming Cons – Battery is approx 30 mins (you need 2 to keep you going), not as powerful as 4 stroke petrol strimmer.

Looove this device! Cut’s with a little less power than my bigger gasoline powered machine BUT no need to work in gasoline fumes anymore. No problems with getting it started. Plug and play and it comes with a cool cutting blade too! Works great.

Am almost impressed by it’s power. Needles to say, I advise this device to anyone.

What I like most about this 4 stroke unit is the reduction of noise and exhaust fumes. Not having to listen to a screaming 2-cycle engine and breathing oily exhaust makes brush work less nasty. It cuts through grass and brush nicely.

The only improvement that I can see, thus far, is the clip system for attaching the harness to the cutter. Ergonomically, it is not an easy task to try to hold the machine with one hand while clipping onto the harness with the other.

The attach point on the shaft moves around while the user attempts to attach a swiveling clip with the other. The quick release system makes detaching easy. If an engineer/designer can come up with a similar way to attach the harness it would make using this machine a bit less frustrating.

Folks, it’s a Honda. That should get you well on your way to buying. I’ve owned this unit before. Donated it when I thought due to age I could no longer trim my acreage. This new one brings back an old friend.

4 cycle beats incredibly loud, stinky two cycle products any day. No surprises with the previous one. Performed as expected. Just care for this unit as Honda recommends and it should serve you well. Put off due to price? You get what you pay for.

I purchased this trimmer with the brush-cutting function in mind. The trimmer is easy to set up,and change over from weed trimmer to brush cutter is fairly easy. While strapped on, it is awkward to pull the starter cord but literally a flip of the wrist and forearm, and it starts on the first pull.

The trimmer with a blade is powerful, but the blade dulls pretty easily. I will be looking for a replacement blade soon. The Trimmer head, as others have mentioned is pretty useless. I will be ordering the bump feed head as well.

The standard trimmer head is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. I love the fact that this trimmer is not 2-cycle. Just like the other Hondas that I own, it is top quality, and I would buy it again.

When we bought this product, it was in a box that was taped up and I asked the worker that I had to get it off the top shelf if it was going to be OK because it was taped up and he assured us that it probably just got opened in the warehouse from whatever… When we got home my son put it together.

He notified me about a day or two later that part of it was broken. The part that is broken is up near the gas tank that is kind of like a guard. This was obviously what was wrong with it and why it was re-packaged and put back on the shelf.

When really it should’ve been sent back to where it came from… I thought point in time I don’t longer have the receipt because I am a single mom with three children and I do not have time to keep track of everything and Was very disappointed.

It does not affect how the machine works, however it does leave a very sharp edge and could potentially cut somebody… This could’ve been avoided if somebody would’ve done their job correctly and sent it back to the manufacturer rather than typing it up and putting it back on the shelf for somebody else to purchase.

I must admit, when I was first looking at the BADGER WB26BCI straight shaft grass trimmer, I was a little skeptical about buying a brand I was not familiar with, but thought – if Lowes sold it, why not give it a try.

I bought the trimmer late in the fall of 2021 and after starting it up to make sure it ran, I drained the fuel and put it up for the winter. When I started it the next spring, it wasn’t running right and eventually wouldn’t start, so I contacted BADGER customer service.

I was put in contact with “Mike” who explained Badger’s warranty plan and worked with me to insure I was 100% happy with my purchase actually replacing my trimmer with another. The new trimmer they sent worked excellent and I have no regrets about buying BADGER products and will continue to do so in the future.

More importantly is their excellent service and customer satisfaction and I would definitely recommend!!.

Id been waiting for these to go on sale. Upon delivery I immediately assembled it. Went together smooth. Comes with some handy tools to help maintain it as well. Upon first, initial cold start she purred as soon as the 3rd pull.

Runs smooth and cuts nice with the trimmer head on. I tried the brush cutter blade. It works well, but the machine vibrates so much when using it, Im not sure if I will in the long run or by an adapter and convert to a real contractor saw blade.

Engine runs smooth though like I said, no hiccups there. The trimmer head is quick loading and I do question how well itll hold up long term. It seems cheap and funky. As with all equipment, keep a fuel additive in the tank even if you run straight gasoline.

Around here in New England all we can get for ethanol-free fuel is 91 pure. I still add stabil 360 or ethanol treatment of some kind. Watch your fuel mix and you should be good. I keep mine well tuned and clean after pretty much every use.

The unit is heavy for sure, bulky like my old Stihl. Id put it up against that thing any day though. Wild Badger is definitely worth checking out especially if youre a homeowner and looking to save some money while also getting a quality product.

I have not yet put it through its paces but felt like an initial review was needed. I have read many negative reviews indicating this machine leaks oil and fuel. Manufacturer suggests 0. lL for initial oil fill.

In my case 50ml was all it needed to be at full level flat on leveled garage floor. The dipstick was bone dry before the fill. I do not see how it would be physically possible to put 100ml in it, but anywhere near that number would probably explain the oil leaks.

Other then that, built quality is acceptable, especially for the money. Put 50ml synthetic 10w-30 blend in it and non-ethanol fuel, primed 10 times and it started on the 2nd pull. Sounds fantastic. Installed a 10″ carbide tipped blade with 1″ arbor and it spins it with no issues and no additional hardware was needed to install.

Will take it to my overgrown property next weekend and see what it’s really made of. Will post a follow up then.

Bought this Badger to replace a 4 cycle Troy Bilt that had many, many quality problems. The Badger connects to all the attachments I already own, Edger, Hedge Trimmer, Pole Saw. The Badger is great so far.

Starts easily on the 2nd pull, well built and has so much more power than my old unit, even when it was brand new. Was easy to assemble. Keep checking the oil level with the dipstick on first fill as it could be easy to overfill.

It is a bit heavy but well balanced and can be used with or without the harness. On top of it all there is a 6 year residential warranty. I highly recommend this product – excellent value so far!.

Excellent trimmer and very heavy duty totally worth the price. The 4 stroke engine is a bit heavier than I am used to with 2 cycle engines but having the harness helps with the weight. Buying parts from the manufacturer is also very easy and are reasonably priced.

For over a decade I have used the Stihl Kombi system and have many attachments. I wanted a battery powered trimmer so i bought the Dewalt 20v trimmer as I have lots of batteries. It was good for moderate growth and I used it for touch ups.

When I saw this attachment capable trimmer using the flexvolt system I wanted to try it as I really like the convenience of battery power and I hoped I could use my Kombi attachments. I have found that this unit has comparable power to my Stihl KM55 Kombi power head but less than my KM110.

By removing the the grey plastic alignment insert on the attachment I have used my Kombi blower, lawn edger, hedge trimmer attachments I also have Snapper polesaw & cultivator attachments that I have used.

I haven’t tried it with my Kombi bed re-redefiner as it requires a high power head so I just use my KM110 with it. I really value the lower noise and grab and go convenience. If i am doing a big job I accept that I need to carry a couple batteries as a trade off.

I probably would have been just as happy using a Stihl battery powered Kombi Head but they are far more expensive and atleast my flexvolt batteries power my power tools as well. I wouldn’t even bother with the 20v unit if this had been available when I bought it.

I compared the specs/capabilities of basically all of the currently available battery-powered trimmers and this string trimmer was the only one that met all my needs. It’s my first Dewalt tool and I’m happy I bought it.

Build: The power head seems stout and built with high-quality materials with good fit & finish. Everything snaps together tightly. Trimmer: The trimmer attachment seems a little lighter-duty than a professional one and I prefer 0.

095 string but the pre-wound 0. 80 string surprised me with its cutting and longevity. It cuts right through woody small shrubs and thick-stemmed weeds better than my cheap old gas-trimmer ever did and it uses less string.

The vibration is much less than a gas trimmer although there is still some vibration since it has a driveshaft (for attachment capability) but it’s not hand-numbing vibration. Power: It’s more powerful than the residential gas trimmer I was using (especially when it wasn’t running quite right; which was almost all the time).

I only need to use the high-speed setting for really dense stuff. Most of the time, lo-speed is plenty. It doesn’t quite compare to the power of a commercial-grade gas trimmer but the result of that is just that you have to move a bit slower.

I think the lack of the noise, fumes, maintenance and annoyance of a gas engine more than makes up for that. Battery: I love that this tool comes with a substantial battery. It is actually a little heavy for a lithium battery, which to me indicates that it is energy-dense.

Its weight balances the tool well. I’m able to run it for about the equivalent of 1. 5-2 tanks of gas in my old trimmer. Attachments: I’ve tested all my universal attachments with the power head and they work great.

The tool has plenty of torque to run them all well. I think I’ll probably use them more than I used to because it was always a rigmarole getting the gas power head fueled and running. Now I just snap the battery and attachments in and it’s ready.

Value: The initial cost is ~50% higher than a decent full-crank residential gas trimmer but I believe most of that cost is probably in the battery. To make such a powerful tool with reasonable run-times at a competitive price, I imagine Dewalt had to shave costs on the trimmer attachment.

I mainly bought this unit for the power head and battery; which seem like they will outlast any attachment. I love the 3-year tool and battery service policy. Assembly tips: remove the plastic sleeve from the power head output shaft before attempting assembly (they forgot that part in the instructions).

If you want to move the string cutter out to make a 17″ swath, it’s a bit annoying as the torx screws are not very good and the outer holes in the plastic guard aren’t pre-threaded. I had to thread the new holes with the screws and a flat-head, remove them, then re-install the string cutter in the 17″ position.

Not a big deal but I’m lucky I didn’t stab myself with the screwdriver while doing so. Overall, I’m very happy with this tool and look forward to converting more of my “fleet” over to the Dewalt Flexvolt line (ahem, chainsaw!).

I bought this a couple months ago from a big box store when I saw it on sale. Our weather was goofy, so I was unable to use the trimmer for roughly 60 days, which was past the return time. If I knew what I know now about this product I would have not purchased it.

Lets start with the Pros: 1) Lots of power. 2) Battery life is decent with a 6Ah 60v battery Cons: 1) Eats line up super super fast. Went through 10′ of line in a matter of minutes. 2) The line is constantly retracting back inside the head and the only way to retrieve it is to disassemble the head.

3) The line is constantly wrapping itself around the head, so I have to stop and cut the line with a knife, and untangle the mess before I can continue. 4) The unlock on the top is super small and hard to work with if you decide to wear gloves.

I am contemplating switching back to my old 20v trimmer.

I was very hesitant after reading several reviews that it wouldn’t crank the second time and other issues. I am a Husqvarna fan and don’t mind paying good money, but I expect good service in return. Got it put together and fired it up.

Even now, it does not fire up on the first pull. Takes about 5 on average. I can live with that, though. More than enough power and has cranked over a dozen times in the short time that I have had it.

I am very pleased. I do join in with others who have said that the instructions are an absolute joke. Especially how to put the blade on. Husqvarna could do better than that. I am very pleased with with the 336FR and have opened up a lot of overgrown brush and tree with it to run a fence.

I was searching for a good heavy duty machine to clear where i was putting new fence. I looked at several. Stihl, echo, and husqvarna, all seemed to be around the same price for what i was wanting. I went through several smaller lower priced trimmers and finally decided to purchase a quality trimmer.

This did a great job for me getting rid of the taller stuff before taking the tractor and bush hog through. This machine will last a long time and hopefully the last i will need to purchase.

As promised, this heavy beast of a machine has tons of power! I also haven’t had the dreaded burned up engine problem so famous in reviews either. (Yet, knock on wood. ) But be warned: changing cutting tools has proven to be a problem.

I can’t currently get the string trimmer off, and thus can’t put the serious tools on to use what this burly little cutter was really made for. Tractor Supply was the only vendor that had these at the time.

So, this is a great brush cutter. I’ve been using it to clear Chinese tallows maple volunteers, palmettos, and wild privets from around my maple trees. It makes short work of overgrown bahia grass and smaller items like the maple volunteers, dogfennel, and switch cane, but once you get to anything over 1/2″, you’ll need to switch to the cutting blade, and you might want to go ahead and have a few extra blades on hand.

The Husqvarna blade dulls quickly. The trimmer itself is amazing. It plows through just about anything you put it up against. It’s very fuel-efficient. A tank of gas lasts a lot longer than it seems it should.

Restringing the head isn’t the easiest job when your worn out and sweaty, but it isn’t the most difficult one I’ve worked with. It seems to feed just fine and doesn’t seem to tangle up much at all. My only complaint, and it’s probably more due to my physical condition than any fault of the equipment, is that after 20 minutes or so of swinging this thing around, my back is on fire and I need to take a break.

I’m sure with continued use I’ll strengthen that up in no time. All in all, this is a great piece of equipment. Just find a toolbag or something to store all of the parts for it. You’ll need them all when you switch from blade to blade to trimmer head and guard swaps.

When you’re working a 10-acre property this can get annoying.

Brush and small tree clearing jobs are no match for this beast – It runs a lot longer than expected on tank of gas and the setup and assemble instructions were first rate. Arlington Power equipment is first rate and has the best price nationally on this product.

Excellent unit with either the line or brush cutter attachment. Made quick work of the brambles in the garden. Powerful machine I previously had a different brand with a 52cc engine and this one is far more well made and able to handle the job better with more ease and very quick and easy to start.

I purchased this brush cutter in order to deal with a mass of weeds and overgrowth on my allotment. It proved to be of good value and excellent quality and made short work of clearing my weeds, so much so I lost partial control and it made a slice in my steel shed about 18 inches long.

If I can I will update with a photo next time I visit.

I had already given feedback on this but to reiterate again Im happy with this item and would recommend. The only downside is the strimmer line doesnt feed and I gave up using it. The bush trimmer is great tho.

Ручка имеет ограниченную клепкой высоту регулировки, поэтому мне при росте 174, чтобы держать триммер горизонтально приходится гнуть спину (в инструкции, сказано косить под углом, но это даёт не ровный рез).

Нигде не оговаривается, но на кассету возможно намотать свою леску, чтобы не покупать новую с 10м лески за 1000р. В целом триммером очень доволен, сильно упрощает жизнь, так как не надо таскать с собой провод или вонять бензином.

Друг, купивший по моему совету такой же, также остался доволен. Достоинства: – работа от аккумулятора – маневренность – простота эксплуатации – приличное время работы от аккумулятора Недостатки: – дорогие родные катушки – не хватает длинны регулировки ручки по высоте – плохо справляется с бурьяном.

Well balanced and does a great job of cutting tough growth and you can’t even feel its cutting. Great piece of kit.

As expected the strimmer is well made and I am sure it will give good service. I couldn’t understand what the circular plastic ring was for, it came in two halves but there was nothing in the instructions about it.

Comfortable to use, very easy to start. Not used the blade yet. I’m running it with Oregon Duoline which is tearing through the long grass and thistles with ease.
