20 Best Heavy Bag Ceiling Mount (2023 Updated)

I mounted my 80 pound old school punching bag to the rafters with no problem. I do recommend a socket set or really powerful drill, however that should tell you about its stability. Its stronger than the rock of Gibraltar.

Ordered 2 mounts to build a cable crossover for my home gym. They are great mounts. However the bottom bolt on one of the mounts was a quarter of an inch too short. I bought another one relative cheaply so it was no big deal.

I’ve had my 100 pound bag fall on me 5 times already. It’s only been close to 2 months since I put it up. Now I’m not sure if it’s me or the quality of the bolts but it’s getting really annoying. If there are better things out there, please let me know!.

This mount has been the unsung hero of my new gym setup. I bought it as an afterthought to hang my Meister 90lb heavy bag. My friends told me how bad their mounts were because their heavy bag always shifted and they felt like their bag wasn’t secure.

I have none of those issues. My bag easily rotates and swivels, but it feels extremely secure. I am very happy with this purchase.

Got this mount to hang my 100lb heavy bag and it is absolutely as described. Very sturdy and well made. I also got the heavy duty spring to go with it and I have zero concerns after a full session using it.

Should last years without any issues whatsoever.

This is a high quality mount. It’s fairly thick metal and has double lock nuts for security. The person that had issues with the lag bolts should have drilled two small pilot holes before screwing them in.

I didn’t have any problems screwing them into a solid wooden beam.

Idiotic design. Hey let’s make a swivel bar for a heavy bag. That you have to completely remove the heavy bag AND completely unscrew BOTH threaded knobs completely. Then the bar will drop and swivel and then you can remount the heavy bag.

I am surprized that they don’t make you completely unbolt from the wall each time you want to swivel. Zero thought put into this product. Or they made it as a joke. And the joke is on me.

The mount is much smaller than I thought and the edge of my bag hangs a few inches away from the wall. Basically, each time I hit the bag, it hits the wall. It’s my fault for not checking the dimensions closer, but I can’t see how this is really useful to anyone unless you are OK with the bag bouncing off the wall.

If you are OK with that, then this does seem to be pretty strong.

Great well made product. Lightweight but strong enough to hold 100 lbs. I bought it to hang a real Stop Light in my Man Cave. It looks and functions perfectly.

If you need a hanger for you kickboxing/punching bag or you hate the one that came with it then I highly recommend this one. the swivel chain is also very useful during your workouts, the hanger also has hookups for all four points – many only have 2.

the latches are the same that rock climbers use so it can hold the easily hold the weight. I have had mine for 3 years and the clasps have not broken. the bag has dropped once from the heavy beam I have it attached to but it is an easy fix.

take your eyelet slather some wood glue onto it and put a little into the stripped hole and voila! good as new. for a good price an its sturdiness.

Had an 80lb Everlast bag sitting for too long and it was time to mount the sucker! Looking in the box, at some point in time the factory chains took a walk. These replacement chains and swivel fit perfectly, work fine and are a good value vs buying separate chain, swivels, etc.

I havent used this product yet. It is a gift for a September birthday. I will have a better review for you after I have used the product.

While the base bag is of acceptable quality – the attachment strap (a standard bungee cord) was very poorly made and failed right out of the box. The hooks were improperly crimped and the “S” hook fell off before I could completely attach them to the bag.

Whatever process Everlast is using to crimp the strap attachment is highly flawed to fall off so easily. Plan on having problem with using this bag. If it cannot survive simple installation – it will NEVER survive actual use on a heavy bag being punched.

Buyer beware. Plan on having to invent and construct your own. Everlast need to implement some quality control.

I love it. Only thing is it’s too light. Requires modifications to ensure the whooe thing doesn’t slide, the bag doesn’t swing, and the speed bag gives proper feedback bounce. Would like to hear from Everlast with regard to how much weight could be added to the top of the speed bag surface, so it doesn’t rattle, which reduces proper feedback bounce.

With this attached, the bag doesn’t dance nearly as much. Like many other reviewers I am unsure about the quality of the water bladder because I used a 50# bag of play sand, which it accommodates perfectly.

My bag is hung in a basement with maybe a 7’ ceiling, so the included bungee for attaching them together is too long for my setup but a heavy duty carabiner does the job.

This review is only happening because they had the nerve to send me a survey request. I think these people ignored my order til I called to check on it. Customer service was an absolute nightmare. Had to contact them 3 times to get an update.

Also this product needs to come in 16″ and 24″ widths for rafter width variations. I had to attach the mount to a 2×10″ plank to get it to work.

Shipping was a little long but I requested a mount for a 110lb bag. I have not had a chance to install the mount, but on first inspection, it looks to be made of very sturdy, quality material and I’m looking forward to mounting it within the next month or so after my house purchase is finalized.

I had to return the product because it does not work for my garage and the spacing of my ceiling joists are not close enough for the product to work correctly, understandable it happens. I have returned the product to the appropriate place with tracking confirmation it was deliverable.

I no longer have the product and there has been no communication on when I will receive my refund and its been weeks. Also I had to pay for shipping for a heavy item so I am in the hole even more. I would like a response!.

So the mount itself feels sturdy. The hardware that comes with it is garbage. The lag bolt snapped during mounting eith MAYBE 15ft lbs of torque (not alot) The U joint threads where off senter and had nearly no material on one side.

Easy fix $5 worth of hardware a home depot and my 100lb is hanging from the ceiling. The moun itself feels sturdy and is made of better mild steel than the chinesium hardware. The welds looks solid aswell.

This is a very well made bit of kit. Easy to install with 2 heavy duty bolts. It’s ceiling mounted, holding up a 90kg practice dummy held by 2mtre of 8mm thick steel chain which weighs a further 3kg I’m pretty sure the house will fall down before it will.

For whatever reason, the part the swivels continually catches the bolt and spins it, causing the nut to fall from the top despite the locking washer. Has caused the bag to slam down on me 3 times. I’m not sure why the locker won’t lock, and I’ve even tried doing locker nut locker nut, having a stack.

Now I have to stop when the top nut falls off, reposition the bag so its weight isn’t on the swivel part, and stop training to get on a step ladder and reconnect my “warning washer”. May even resort to welding the nut on so it stops spinning.

When installing this in my basement, I was excited, and it performs well now. HOWEVER: 1: One of the bolts snapped inside the wood beam before it was fully anchored! I had to go find another same type of bolt lying around the house.

And that was with a pilot hole drilled! These bolts are cheap so either get stronger ones or drill a good pilot hole first! 2: when working the heavy bag, the center swivel bolt unscrews itself! The lock washer doesn’t lock like it’s supposed to.

I had to put some thread lock to get it to stop.

I bought this for my grandson for his 7th birthday along with the Everylast 70 lb. punching bag. He requested a punching bag and I wanted to be sure I got him a well made one. He LOVES it!

This thing is amazing. I was skeptical at first but decided to give it a try. I actually hung this on my porch and I have a 100 pound heavy bag. This thing doesn’t budge when I do my boxing routines.

Excellent product and great quality. If you don’t have a smooth surface under the strap, I suggest putting a piece of cardboard or flexible plastic under it to prevent wear. Also be sure to use a swivel which usually comes with most bags that are purchased.

Yes, this heavy bag hanger isn’t the cheapest option available for those looking to hang a heavy bag from a beam. However, This strap is a BEAST! And it just doesn’t get any easier when it comes to installation and removal.

It comes with a massive D-ring and screwlock. The ability to adjust from 6″ to 36″ makes it very functionally universal. Rated at 500lbs and I believe it! This hanger eliminates some of the problems other hangers are known for.

Simpler is usually best. This hanger should easiIy last a lifetime. If you purchase this I’d also recommend buying the Meister heavy bag spring and screwlock kit at the same time. Meister recommends it per their installation sheet that comes with this heavy bag hanger.

It will help prevent the wear and tear that comes from the stress of the heavy bag hanging from a solid mount and jarring back down when lifted with punches and kicks. Especially those bags that utilize straps instead of chains.

Talk about heavy duty! Leave it to Meister to get the job done in regards to sturdiness. This bag hanger holds a punching bag that is well over 500 lbs with a heavy duty clip and strap from up above.

We were able to use it on a metal rack with no issues while it hung there OR while it was being used. Was very happy to see that this strap is universal meaning it will fit any bag you’ve got. Easily mountable and the lock system gives you a peace of mind that it’s not going anywhere while in use.

Overall the bag stand is awesome. Great powder coat on it nice thick steel. I have mine mounted outside under my patio this thing can handle some abuse. Couple things to be aware of though. You can’t hang 300lbs off of it, its 300lbs including the weight of the stand, so u can hang a bag up till 185lbs off of it (stand is 115).

Also once mounted it will shake a little does not affect its function and all stands of this type will shake just be aware. Shaking doesn’t affect function at all though and there is no noise. Lastly use 3/8 drill bit on concrete and 3/8 anchors for those who dont know.

I would go with 4-5inch anchors, at the very least 2in in depth into the concrete(deeper the better).

It’s a pretty solid stand with minimal space consumption. One thing that will help is if you purchase a spring to attach your bags to this unit. The spring will really minimize how much this unit “wobbles” after impact…it’s a huge difference (night/day) from using a chain to a spring.

I attempted to attach this mount to a cinder block wall. It appeared to be installed stably – I could do a static hang of up to 150 lbs without it moving. However, with just a few minutes of dynamic load from me working a 70 pound bag, the upper screws started to unscrew themselves from the blocks.

I attempted reinstallation twice; once with the screws inside lag shield anchors and once with the screws replaced by butterfly anchors placed through the thickness of the wall. Neither held – the butterfly anchor shafts flexed enough to snap them off at the ends opposite the bag and mount.

The screws provided would presumably be better able to accommodate the loads when a bag is actually being used when set into sufficiently thick wooden elements; but “any type of wall” is not accurate.

I was very skeptical about getting this item. After a couple of months of heavy workouts, this item has impressed me! String and sturdy. Btw, I have a 100lb bag and a 200 lbs bag.

I love my Everlast 100 pound punching bag, however it had a few scratches on it. It wasn’t deep scratches, but visible ones. The quality of the bag is very good. The instructions were very easy to follow and only took minutes to assemble.

My 50 lb punching bag (I’m a beginner ) came with a wall bracket and optional ceiling sleeve anchor, but both used extremely large screws (16mm and 14 mm x 6cm). I didnt want to put large holes into the support beam, so I went with this hanger separately.

After fully securing the screws into the beam, I noticed that another pair of washers for the screws would’ve truly secured them in than just the screws alone (simple cheap fix). As is, the 3/8 screws with 1/2 heads work perfectly, and can be removed if needed.

Came quickly and was easy to set up. Excited to start my new year off learning how to box! I thought it was going to be tricky but it was just two quick bolts and I got my bag hooked up.

I bought this less than a month ago and I was super excited to hang my 70lb bag that is from century as well. I love the bag so I figured the stand would be great as well. Disappointed from day one for 2 BIG REASONS.

1) FedEx delivered the package broken and when I tried to assemble it, it was missing the 9 pieces from the bottom of the stand to hold weights, which took me almost 2 weeks to receive. 2) when I finally received the parts I finished putting everything together and once again I was excited to use my bag.

After using it for a while I started noticing that the stand started to squeak like CRAZY. (I had placed my stand on top of a mat to avoid putting it directly on the floor) I thought maybe it needs to be directly on the floor so I removed the mat and the noise was worse.

The thing is never even, I tried putting weights on the 3 sides of the stand, and nothing. The squeak comes from the middle where the stand connects to the pole that holds the bag. I can’t work out in peace because the noise is absolutely OBNOXIOUS.

After tightening the screws, trying to put many things under it to try to make it even and make it less squeaky, I’ve just given up on it.

Works great! Yes, I miss my free-hanging heavy bag because I van hit it much harder, but since I have nowhere to hang it in this house this bag works great! SUPER easy to assemble too! I put 100 lbs of sand in the bottom and it’s really sturdy.

I generally use it a few times a week. I don’t use it on hard floors, so I’m unsure how well the suction cups work, but they help to keep it from sliding around on the carpet. I assembled only with the tools they provided- nothing else.

I did, however, buy a funnel to get the sand in when I bought it.

It was easy to assemble, and provides plenty of suction so it’s nearly impossible to knock over. You must ensure you place it on a smooth, flat surface. I have it in my garage on smooth cement. After a 30 minute workout, there was some lateral movement (a couple of inches – hardly noticeable), but I could not knock it over.

Whether you are hitting or kicking, it offers a relatively quiet workout, and you can adjust the tension on the springs for slow/fast bag rebound. I used water because it is so much easier to empty and refill using a hose.

It showed up 2 days earlier than when I was supposed to. I did get what the picture looks like. The bolts look pretty hefty. Overall its good quality

One thing I disliked is the middle bolt holding it up. The bag goes to 1 side making the pressure uneven. Can’t put extra nuts on to keep it in place bc the bolt is already stripped from the weight of the bag.

Using it for my kickboxing heavy bag. Keep the bag hanging and in place while training.

If you are looking for a heavy bag swivel or an economical swivel for a child’s tire swing like I was, this is it, It will work great for either. Shipping for UK to Eastern Canada took about week and was included in the price.

It is well made, includes 3 chains and hooks so for $21 Canadian I’d say it’s a bargain.
