20 Best Heating System For Apartments (2023 Updated)

I bought this blower and a 10 KW heat kit for my 3 car garage, It will raise the temperature 1 degree per minute. It was easy to install, instruction manual was clear and easy to understand for the do-it yourself folks.

Glad now I bought a hard blowing furnace and not a small unit heater with very little CFM.

It is being used in replacement of a natural gas stove to heat an L shape ranch style home with two additions it has 4 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bath, living room, family room with bar, dining room and kitchen.

For the most part it heats the home very well, I just wish I would have purchased the central air unit as well.

I am an engineer and I spent probably 40 hours reviewing all types of heaters and furnaces to heat my 2 story 1700 sq. foot house in E. Montana where the temps are routinely -25 to -35F for weeks at a time in the winter.

This old house had a wood stove and electric baseboard (expensive heating, and poor). Settled on this Rinnai EX38 propane model even though I felt the cost was excessive. Installation was exceptionally easy though I wasn’t able to use the wood stove 6″ vent and had to cut a 3″ hole through the wall with some tough masonry board and stucco.

It’s been online now for 6 days and I am very impressed. I used an infrared pyrometer to monitor temps throughout the house. The unit is installed in the 24×15 foot living room and it warms this room (too much) on lowest setting of 60.

At same time it warms the adjoining BR, bath and kitchen while increasing the upstairs temp by 4-5F on this setting. Unit has two great features: economy and setback. They talk about the economy setting but nobody mentiones the setback feature which I feel is the best feature of all.

One of my criteria was finding something that could prevent freezing when we are gone for weeks or months at a time since we travel a lot. The setback feature allows you to set a temp (minimum of 38F) with the furnace off by just selecting the setback button.

The furnace will remain off until the room temp reaches that temperature and then it will ignite the burner to prevent temp from going lower. Temp outside now is 9 degrees so I have used this feature for a couple of days and am impressed though I set it at 46F and it actually comes on when the room is 48-49.

I feel this product is worth the extra cost plus, based on my experience, German and Japenese products (and some American if they are made here) are the best. I hate buying anything new because most of the time they’re poorly made and don’t last or you have all sorts of trouble from the gitgo.

Not with this Rinnai furnace.

I’m reviewing the RINNAI EX22CTWP model, to help those to match their use with a model. This is an undiscovered gem, as I had to really work to find info about this furnace, manufacturer and acessories.

It’s a gem because it has been working great since October. Quiet and unobtrusive, mine is mounted halfway along a single-wide manufactured home, one with R-19 walls and R-31 ceilings. Last night it had no trouble maintaining the house at 50 degrees above the outside, albeit with no wind.

‘No trouble’ means it was operating at one of its lowest, quietest settings. In the next weeks I’m sure I’ll test lower outside temps. I have an electric furnace but don’t know just when the rinnai wont be able to keep up.

Until then, the electric furnace stays off and I’m enjoying sub-$50 electric bills. A new propane (electric furnace) replacement furnace would have been roughly the same in price but the rinnai is so much easier to live with, day-to-day.

The big furnace is *loud*. Some whines: 1) rinnai and Alpine aren’t doing themselves any favors how they organize which vent accessories go with what models. Had to dig like crazy. Rinnai had one PDF which detailed this but their doc names gave no hint they contained this info.

The Alpine site is good, rinnai’s is maddening, at least on a tablet (pulldown menues that snap shut immediately. ) Both need to provide better info on how to pick vent accessories. 2) after running flat-out for several minutes there’s a smell of hot plastic which is decreasing over time.

I pulled the front cover and combustion chamber heat shield and found a couple of wires routed close to the chamber. I’ll probably thermo-sleeve those. Their insulation was showing signs of discoloration and very slight bubbling.

3) the ‘thermostat’. It seems to reliably show 6 degrees less than the actual room temp, as shown by 2 other devices who agree with each other. Turning the rinnai down to 60 leaves the house at 66. Maybe it can be adjusted.

The heater was delayed because it was involved in an accident. When it did arrive there was a big gash in the box. There didn’t seem to be any harm to heater. but, I worry there might be something internal.

Working well so far. Great heater!.

I live in San Antonio, TX and winter can be fairly cold. We have central heat but our apartment is so poorly insulated it’s like no heat at all. I bought this particular model because I have a 12-year old VH102 (which still works) but I wanted something that had a digital thermostat on it.

Things I like about the new unit: the digital thermostat works within a degree or two; the unit shuts off when it reaches the temp you’ve selected; and there’s a big, easy-to-read temp on the top. The best thing? This unit will keep you warm! It’s not made to stand in front of and “warm up” like you would a fireplace but if you read and understand the vortex technology and use it as designed you’ll be amazed at the comfort.

(If you’re buying something to tuck under your desk at work to keep your legs warm, you may need a different model). Other features I appreciate are the safety tip-over and the quietness. The only thing (and it’s minor) is the red LED that shows it’s on might be too bright (at night) for some people but it’s nothing a piece of duct tape can’t fix.

I like the AVH10 so much I’m thinking about gifting my old one to a neighbor and getting another!.

Excellent heat distribution and warms up the room quickly! Super quiet and effective. It doesn’t seem suck too much power either as it doesn’t make the lights flicker like some other cheaper heaters I have.

I run this heater for at least 8 hours most days and it’s been going strong like brand new for the year and a half I’ve had it! I love it so much I just bought a second one. We also have another space heater by Vortex that we love just as much! That one has a remote and was a little more expensive but a treat to warm up a cold bedroom from bed 🙂 Highly recommend both for anyone who is always cold like me!.

The good news is it’s lightweight, quiet and stays cool so it’s safe for pets. The bad news is it doesn’t maintain the set temp on the low setting. I set the temp to 72 on high; once the room was at that temp, I turned it to low and the room temp immediately began to drop.

I kept it on low all night and it was only able to get up to 70 on that setting. So, to maintain the set temp you have to have it on high the whole time, which is louder and defeats the purpose of multiple settings.

Also, the indicator light is ridiculously big and bright. It’s so bright at night that it disrupted my sleep.

Have multiple Vornado products in apt. Have older version of this model also. I use year round with the Fan only function. It moves the air around the room beautifully. I also like the long warranty period.

I’ve used that multiple times with their products. Vornado will repair or replace their products with minimal interaction. ONLY negative is not all their products are made in USA and not all products can be repaired.

They only have repair parts for certain models. I was disappointed to learn I had to toss a smaller fan of theirs because of that policy. Over all I’ve had issues with their products but continue to purchase because of this good warranty policy.

Keep your receipt and warranty booklet in safe accessible location.

The digital controls are kludgy and slow to respond requiring multiple presses to complete desired actions. These controls also cycle from low heat to fan only to high heat. Tell me this isn’t backwards? Why is “fan only” between two heat settings? The greatest flaw is the lack of any led backlighting.

The screen is so dark, even in well lit rooms, I need a flashlight to see what the settings are on. With led’s costing pennies, this is a huge oversight and makes this device a complete pain to operate.

The overall heating capability is barely a C+ with a less than forceful air stream and the unit is periodically noisy which makes using it while sleeping problematic. A huge disappointment with the lack of visibility being the deal breaker.

I’m very disappointed with this defective device and the company that stands behind it—because the fan and the heating filament becomes defective in a year—my room heater stopped working in about a year.

I also found out that 41 other customers who purchased your room heater experienced the same problem and made their complaints known to the public on Amazon. I hope that someone at your company who is truly concerned about this problem will fix it as soon as possible.

You have lost me as your customer and I do not recommend that anyone else purchase your room heater until the defective fan and heating filament problem is resolved.

I’ve had this for a month and it is great! It helps keep my playroom warm which is a very large, open room. My husband walked down into the room and said he felt like he walked into a wall of heat and was very impressed.

That room always seems to be drafty and has tile floor to the point our ceramic space heater made no difference at all, but this lets us play in there again! When used in the nursery, it sometimes gets too warm so I had to adjust the temperature a bit and it’s perfect.

Set up was very easy but this is something you DO need to read the instructions on. I set it out to get to room temperature first (delivered when snowing). You have to set it on the floor only and 3ft away from the wall plugged in directly to the outlet.

I wish I knew this ahead of time, but not a deal breaker. It is sensitive for turning off when tipping over which is perfect for my 10-month old! I picked it up to move it over a little and it turned off right away.

There’s a spot where it wasn’t making full contact with our rug because of wrinkles and it wouldn’t turn on until it was flat on the ground. I LOVE this feature. The cool-touch is exactly as described too.

Cons: It is starting to make a noise every now and then which has me worried because it’s only been a month. It is still functioning properly though. Amazon has it for $99. 99 and I was assured by Customer Support here that the $150 some was the cheapest it would be and no discounts were offered.

Kind of a bummer, but it is well worth every penny I paid! The crib piece doesn’t connect automatically when turning on the unit, and the button is on the back. So I have to take it off the crib every time I want to use that feature, and bending down still hurts.

It does work great without using that piece though! I wish it had Bluetooth capability or a parent remote where I could turn it on/off and adjust the temperature without going into the nursery, but again, not a deal breaker! Overall, I would and have already recommended this product to my friends and family! Since we are renting, I have no say in house repairs, but our heat doesnt work as well as I’d like on really cold days, and this has been a life saver.

Now that it’s getting warmer, I will purposefully keep her nursery a little warmer so I can enjoy it cooler in my room.

I bought this a few weeks ago off Amazon because my baby’s room is colder than most in the house. I was reluctant to buy a heater for the nursery, but the reviews were good especially about the safety features.

Since buying it, when we use it, my son’s room gets too hot. The unit doesn’t automatically shut off like it’s supposed to. We have it set to the lowest setting and this is still the case. When I walk into my son’s room it’s like a sauna! Very disappointed as I had read good reviews and expected it to work for the price.

There are so many small heaters to choose from but I was hesitant to buy a noisy cheaply made appliance that may not work for long. When I read this Heater was made for a Nursery I knew it would be quiet as well as sturdy and reliable.

It IS very quiet and it also heats up the area quickly. I do not believe it will heighten my bills as I can easily set it up in any room I am spending time inside without activating the house heating system.

Now I just heard some Friends of mine ordered 2 heaters which are not as good as this one so I am sending them a Vornado Baby Space Heater today! I love it. Thank you, Val V.

I love this heater a lot, but the higher setting keeps breaking. I’ve bought 2 of these within 2 years because the hotter setting keeps breaking only after a few months to a year of use. It is not continuously on all day every day, just for a few hours to warm the room up and then let the temp gradually come down.

If I try to turn it on the higher setting, it just refuses to turn on or in the case of the first one I still have, it’ll produce a burning smell and I have to quickly turn it off. I want to love this product but the fact 2 in a row have died like that is a bummer.

It does the job perfectly when it is working!.

I have had this Vornado Whole Room Space Heater for over a 1 month. It is NOT a hot heat but a warm heat. It tempers the air. Materials were good just not a adequate room heater. It did not do what I expected.

It had its pluses but the reason I reject this product is: IT IS NOT COST EFFECTIVE. I got my electric bill and did jump substantially. Cost of operation vs. efficiency is not worth it. I am not condemning this product I was just disappointed.

The Glide Heat Whole Room Heater certainly does not look like any other space heater i’ve ever seen. I was very hesitant to think that this could do a good job heating a whole room, but I was quite surprised at the results.

We placed this heater in our 3-season sun room for a holiday party, and it was both unobtrusive in its presence and incredibly effective at making the room warm and comfortable for the duration of the evening.

It was sat on a small table in the corner and was very quiet, mostly silent. It looks like it could be a small fan, but it warmed up quickly and puts out a fair amount of heat which covered the approximately 120 sq feet very well for many hours.

Design-wise it looks very modern and guests even commented on the appearance of the unit. Overall, I would highly recommend this heater as an effective solution to heating small rooms in your home on an as-needed basis.

I look forward to seeing how well it holds up long-term and using it frequently.

To start with: this is a *tiny* heater/fan. It’s meant for *small* applications, like under desks, or in my case, heating a tent went I travel-camp. That being said-it’s perfect for MY needs. Tip-over protection and a cool-to-touch housing and face means it’s not a danger to fabrics.

Two heat settings, so I can use it on cool nights to keep the condensation down in my tent without it turning into a sauna, and a high setting that really heats a tent space up quick. It’s not completely silent, but it’s quiet enough to sleep next to.

Fan only mode is not adjustable in speed, but it generates enough breeze to keep the air moving and cool things down. The fan moves more air than some other 1500w heater/fan units I’ve owned in the past, so it’s really nice for tents.

Finally, I would say with certainty that if you were to use this in an office cubicle or other small workspace needing quiet and a small footprint for your heater-fan, you would find this to be a superior product for the money.

I own a couple of the larger Vornado fans that I try to keep running for as long as possible through the spring and summer months before I have to turn on the air conditioning, and they’ve never failed me through all the heavy use and cat hair I throw at them! Hope this review helps.

After reading multiple product reviews (Wirecutter/NYT, CNET, GoodHousekeeping and others) giving this Vornado heater very good recommendations, I purchased one at the local Home Depot on November 1, 2021.

The package/box was intact, manufacturers sealed. At home, I read the start up instructions completely and followed exactly. I live in a new construction home with gas heating, but purchased this small electric heater for a back bedroom that gets greatest wind/cold in winter so that I might reduce whole house thermostat overnight to save a bit on gas usage.

I had settings between 2-3/7 and, except on initial setup, kept on lowest wattage. Most days since purchased, the heater was turned off during the day; when gone for several days, turned off and unplugged.

The heater worked very well until December 23, 2021. Two nights ago, I turned the heater on and moved temp dial to between 3-4. A burning smell was evident immediately, no sound from fan, and after 30 seconds to 1minute, no heat generating.

I turned the heater off, unplugged it, then later (2-3 hours), tried again in another room, different electrical socket. Same result w smell, no fan, no heat. On December 24, my SIL (does electrical repairs) tried it w same results.

Bottom line: Vornado heater worked for 53 days. Shameful. Obviously bad product. Unusually for me, I’d failed to read the actual customer reviews.

My original purchase last year of this product stopped working after 4 months of use. Vornado made good on its warranty by asking me to cut the cord and throw away the heater. – Not exactly a sustainable way to recycle a product!! The replacement of VH200 has 3 settings that are all exactly the same- no difference in heat production or fan.

The heat on my original item last year was efficient and heated a room quickly. This one, due to poor heat production does not ever heat a small room. It is inefficient and I would call it a room warmer, not a room heater.

The electrical cord is stiff, inflexible and hard to manage if you don’t need the entire length and it also does not uncurl. I also bought a fan that has the same stiff cord. I will not be purchasing another product from this company.

Pros: Quiet. Not hot at all so good for kids areas or near heat-/burn-sensitive objects (like candles, delicate fabrics, etc. ). Convenient timer. Fan does circulate within a 6′-9′ arc radius. It will be nice to use the fan option when the weather gets warmer.

Appears to have sturdy plastic parts. Cons: Warm when sitting in front of it in 3-4′ in a 64F 12’x12’room. Temp measured by room therm at this range is 68F. At 6′ arc zone, I feel cool air circulating, with temp at 66F while heater is on max.

Note that this has been used for a month regularly in small office-type rooms at ambient temps of 60-68F. I’ve consistently worn synthetic thermal socks, pants, and long-sleeved tops. I would recommend this only for small/kids’ areas, or as a supplement to an already heated room, or approx 10×10 room or smaller.

$40 would be a fair price– not $80.

I ordered the heater based on reviews of it being extremely quiet. I found it made the same amount of “fan” noise as one of the space heaters I already have. I didn’t try to learn of any of its other features.

Customer Service was very courteous and the return was simple. A few days, week or so later I saw Vornado heaters in Home Depot. There were two sizes, both smaller than the VH10. I really wanted one to be on display so I could hear it, but the rep didn’t take my hint.

I purchased the smaller one, VH203. I am pleased with the sound; not extremely quiet, but a soft fan. The 750W heat setting sufficiently warms my personal space. The 375W setting is not as warm as I like, so I used 750W.

The design is unique, cute. I am pleased with the personal size VH203.

The Vornado TAVH10 Vortex Heater is amazing! First off the design and color combination makes it attractive if it’s sitting in plan view. Our current electric heater, an oil filled radiator we move around stands out like a sore thumb (although I love warming towels and/or clothing on it!) This is lightweight and portable with a built in handle making it easy to use in any room.

The TAVH10 Vortex Heaters design helps to keep it from being knocked over. There is a pressure activated safety button on the bottom that shuts it off as soon as it’s tilted too far. I forgot about this and picked it up slightly to move it on the carpet and the shut off was immediate.

Of course I had to try it a few more times to be sure 😉 and as soon as the button is released even slightly the shut is immediate. The cord is just over 3 ft long and stored around the base allowing you to keep the excess wrapped to avoid tripping.

An important thing I also noticed is the cord/plug does not get warm when using it like the radiator does. Basically the heater stays cool to the touch. However the front does get a bit warm but I could lay my hand flat on it and not get burned, another great safety feature if you have curious pets or small children.

Runs quietly and can be programmed to shut off in 1-12 hrs with the timer. The temperature I chose was achieved surprisingly fast considering it’s an old house and not well insulated, it’s always colder inside than out.

The digital touch controls are bright and large enough to see easily. The TAVH10 Vortex Heater comes with a remote with simple functions. My only issue is the range is short and the buttons tend to get stuck if pushed at angle instead of straight down (maybe it’s just something I do tho).

I received the TAVH10 Vortex Heater free to try and review and I can honestly say it has exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great little heater. You won’t be disappointed!.

The Delongi TRD40615E Dragon 4 heater is the sure bet when it comes to heating. Typical heaters which have a hair dryer element, fan and thermostat are pretty useless compared to this passive heater.

When heating or cooling it always takes more time to achieve the temperature when heating or cooling when using fluids. Once at temperature, this fluids are more efficient, due to their resistance in losing temperature.

This heater will consume less energy that a forced air, coil/fan heater. Say the thermostat is at 70 degrees. Once the heater gets to 70 the oil will be at 70 degrees. With oil having a higher viscosity than air it will continue to heat the room, taking a longer time to lose its residual heat.

However, an air, electric element and fan cool off extremely fast due to their construction of thin lightweight medals. Thus the hair dryer with a fan will have to cycle on again. The heater with element fan and thermostat will cycle more often than the oil filled chimney designed heater.

So physics proves my point, hot air rises, same sized rooms, shapes materials within the room the oil filled heater is more efficient than the heater with open element and fan while trying to achieve the same outcome.

Delongi has a great design. I have used this model in a 200 square foot room which is above a garage. The house thermostat at 68 this one room will be at 64. With the additional supplimental heating from this radiator style heater I no longer worry if the room is warm.

The room will stay at 68 because of the oil filled heater.

After months of research and buying/returning six other portable heaters (2 radiators and 4 infared), I am very pleased with the functionality, safety features, heat output, and design of this brand and model.

I live in the upper level of a 1930s brick duplex and I am intent on using room heaters–because of mold in the basement and air ducts–this winter. This unit warms one medium-to-large room, so I bought two (along with two De’Longhi HVF3555TB Bathroom Safe Fan Heaters for the bathroom and kitchen).

This radiator is made of steel, except for plastic wheels and a plastic control panel. There’s also a layer of paint on the metal, so that could release an element of toxicity, but I’m not sure if it does.

The DeLonghi sales rep said that radiators, in general, have a certain oil smell, so it helps to let the unit run for a week or longer in a ventilated area. I did that for both of my radiators and hardly notice any smell at all now.

The sales rep also clarified that the company has to include the California Proposition 65 label because it would be unwieldy–if not impossible–to test every single element of every single appliance.

The thermostat reaches 82 degrees, with three levels of heat (low-medium-high) for each degree. At times, my apartment is so hot that I have to lower the thermostat from 82 to 70 especially when the downstairs neighbors are home, heating their apartment with the furnace.

One of the main reasons I opted for an oil-filled radiator is because my veterinarian recommended it for the cat’s safety. Apparently, he’s had some experience with pets getting burned from infared (not FAR infared) heaters.

The cat likes to lie next to the radiator or in an upside-down box covered by a blanket five feet away from the heater. Sure, it would be nice to have even more heat output at times, but I value the silence, supposed non-toxic materials, design, and ease of use over maximum heat.

All to say that I am in love with this product!.

Really nice radiator heater! It can definitely heat up a room! Upon opening the box, make sure to blow out any left over Styrofoam if any is stuck to the heater or in the cracks. The instructions say to turn it on and let it run for 4 hours on high for first use to burn off any chemical smells there may be.

It isn’t a strong smell but I did smell a lite hint of something. The wheels are easy to fold out and they make the heater very easily mobile as far as the plug will allow. You can very easily unplug it and slide it into another room with barely any effort at all.

The face has 7 buttons. 1. The obvious, on/off button. Self explanatory 2. The lightbulb. Now, why would a heater have a lightbulb?? It doesn’t, the face is a digital display and if you tap the lightbulb button it will dim the screen.

There are 3 different settings so if you are trying to sleep and need a very dark room, you can. Honestly though, it isn’t that bright but it is a nice option to have. 3. the power level. Self explanatory but again, it has 3 levels.

A nice feature. 4. The Timer! I did read all of the instructions and I am glad that I did. If you want the heater to turn on in 1,2,3 or 4 hours, you need to press this button and then hit the plus and minus button until you reach your desired amount of time and then leave it! Do not press power.

You will see a little clock display on the screen and now, you have set the heater to perhaps turn on in the middle of the night so you aren’t freezing when you wake up. Great option! Now, if you want the heater to turn off in an hour or 4, you just need to do the exact same but after you have turned the heater on.

5. the minus option. This is a control for the temperature and the timer. 6. The plus sign. This is also a control for the temperature and the timer. 7. The ECO button. If you press this button, the heater will run at the best amount of power to reach your desired temperature to save power.

I cant really say if this is useful or not. I am the type that want full heat when I have a heater going. It does look like a radiator however, it is a nice looking heater and it looks nice in any room.

It does feel hot to the touch when in use however it is not going to blister your skin if you accidentally touch it or a child or pet goes near it. I have both in my home so that is very important to me.

when Our home is over 2000 sq ft and when I am using the heater on the main floor, you can 100% feel the difference at the top of the stairs on the second level. It will be wonderful this winter in our basement which is finished but it does have a constant chill down there.

OH!!!!! One last thing that needs to be noted!!! It has an antifreeze mode! This is my favorite feature as it could potentially be life saving. If the room falls below a certain temperature, it will automatically turn on to prevent freezing.

I have to look more into this but it is an awesome feature if that is the case! I do like this heater a lot! I give it 5 stars and I do recommend this item.

I bought this heater to heat my backroom addition about 190 square feet. I’m extremely happy with my purchase. It was delivered very fast 2-3 days. My masters electrician said he would highly recommend it to any of his customers.

Got my order delivered yesterday, and it was not working. It displayed ‘ERR’ as status and according to the technical support staff, it needs to be replaced with a new unit. I will update the review once I got the new unit.

I must add that I do own a tankless water heater, as well as an under-the-sink water heater and both, work perfectly fine.

Extremely efficient heater. Works like magic, keeps room toasty. Beats running baseboard heater, that too an oil burner. German engineering, what can one say?

The heater seems to be pretty good at heating a small to mid-sized room. I have it in my home office which is around 10×12 and its a good supplement. I leave our central heat at 60 degrees and just turn this on for an extra 6-8 degrees in my office.

It’s a little large, but the good thing is it blends into the wall. It does get pretty hot to the touch so make sure not to put it anywhere little kids may touch. I don’t have kids right now so that’s not an issue.

It’s not so hot you’ll burn yourself, but you don’t want to keep your hand on it for more than a second. I gave 4 stars because the one negative is it smells pretty pungent at first use. From what I read online, ceramic space heaters have this smell normally for the first 30 min or so of use.

Its getting better, but takes time to go away. If you’re looking for something out of the box ready, I’d look for a different type of heating.

Best small room heater I’ve ever purchased! Very slim design, silent af and we added an automatic temperature switch between its cord and the wall outlet. Will be putting one in our master bath.

I love this! Put it in my sunroom which is not heated. My dogs stay in there when I’m at work (there is access to the yard via a dog door). It keeps the room comfortable on chilly days and I don’t have to worry about it burning the dogs or getting knocked over like I used to when I used a space heater.

This is the best bang for your buck heater I could find. If you didn’t know, any electric heater rated at 1500 watts will give you the same amount of heat – regardless of how expensive it is. If you pay more, you are only paying for a different cosmetic design or different technology (like if it has a fan, or a digital thermostat).

If all you care about is heat, buy the cheapest heater rated 1500 watts. I wanted a budget heater that is also silent. This is the cheapest one I could find. It works perfectly, is totally silent (other than occasional click from thermostat – barely audible) has simple controls, and to my surprise, the heat is instant (it doesn’t need to warm up).

Although it does not have a digital thermostat, an analog thermostat is actually a plus for me, because I wanted a heater that I can turn on and off with a smart plug. Heaters with digital thermostats will not work with a smart plug, because you will only be able to turn it OFF, not ON.

If you want to do this, make sure you use a heavy duty 1500 watt smart plug! All in all great product! I will also add, make sure to inspect your heater because my first one arrived damaged. Fortunately, Walmart replaced it and the new one is perfect.

I am not much of a heat person since I began experiencing hot flashes, so I keep the thermostat kinda low. Having a two story home, where the heat rises, causing the upstairs to become too warm and hard to sleep, but the downstairs, remains a bit cool.

When I get a little chilly, I like the control that this space heater offers. I can set it for a varied array of temperatures and fan strength. Its the perfect size to heat our livingroom, and has heating options to satisfy the level of warmth I’m needing.

I love that its off white because it blends into our decor, whether using it or not. My daughter, how is always cold, threatens to steal it for her college apartment. Today happens to be the coldest day of the season, but not cold enough for me to actually turn on the hvac unit, but this heater is perfect!.

Very lightweight, quiet- no fan noise at all. Works well to warm up a medium sized room. Arrived in good condition but this was an obvious return- paper tape and inside instructions and wrapping torn and disorganized, which concerned me.

However, I kept it as it looked OK and works fine. The biggest con I see is that the top grid cover is metallic and gets extremely hot to touch! This wouldn’t be a safe choice for a home with a toddler.

This heater works extremely well. It’s actually the 2nd one I bought a few days ago, it was delivered very quickly. The first one I bought a few weeks before Christmas and it cost more then, but this one was on sale, marked down about $25 or so I believe, but I was very happy to see that it was on sale because I wanted another one.

I have a bigger infrared heater that looks similar and this one works just as well as the bigger one. I love it and I love the price. If it gets marked down again I think I’ll buy a third heater because it’s something I can always use or help a family member if they need it.

Powerhouse little heater! Own a mobile home with a bedroom farthest away from heat. Works very well to supplement a cooler room. I use the eco 68 degrees a lot. Lifesmart has been around awhile. My last heater from there lasted 5 plus years and it was reconditioned!.

I live in a loft with sky high ceilings, giant drafty windows, concrete flooring and electric central heat that comes from above. This little heater has been my saving grace! Supplemental heat that actually heats my 687sq apartment.

I bought the heater just before Christmas. It was delivered quickly but when I opened it to set it up, I found the instruction booklet had been really badly translated into English so was almost impossible to understand.

Luckily I had owned a similar heater before so understood the controls. The heater worked fine for a couple of weeks but then it just stopped working. I contacted Robert Dyas to ask for a refund but was told that returning the heater had to be done using a certain process (which in my opinion does not have the customer at the heart of it!) and this would take up to five days.

Meanwhile, my 92 year old extremely frail and vulnerable mother has been left without the additional heating she needs so I’m having to use a cheap, expensive to run connector heater which is far from ideal.

I’m still waiting to hear from Robert Dyas. It’ been 4 days so I’ll obviously have to chase them again. All I want is a refund for a faulty product, so I can buy a heater that works so keeps my mother warm.

I’m really disappointed with both the heater and the service. If I could give no stars, I would.

This is a problematic piece of equipment. It appears to be poorly designed and manufactured. Very confusing and hard to understand user manual, using strange terms like “Appointments”!! When did we see consumer appliances/machines working by appointments?! It’s riddled with malfunctions and problems.

One of the most remarkable is the absence of any light indicators when the machine is on and working. Also, parts are not sturdy and wheels easily fall apart.

This is the second oil filled heater I have bought from Robert Dyas. The first one (half the size) was more than ten (10) years ago. It is still working fine. The new Etna has been doing its job with flying colours – as you would expect from a “kid”.

I expect it to last longer than the first. So far, so good!.

I’m really very pleased already. We have some days of winds and storms, of the Pacific coast variety, cold down to upper 40s, while the dampness in the air accentuates its quality, and this arrived in time, actually early.

I am using this heater in an L-shaped room, 25 feet by 14 at its widest part. I would say this heater is just right for the winter in this climate, as it takes all the feeling of chill out of the room, and can be cozy where you are near enough to feel the direct heat.

Given the nice rollers on the feet, moving it a little for a desk or easy chair seating is nice to do. If you were in colder climates I have lived in, and somehow didn’t have the heating their residences usually do, you’d likely want two of these for a room as large as I describe.

However many you need, this heater has all the benefits expected of its design and power level: no noise (a click once or twice as things shift since unpacking), no drafts or only warmth in front of fans, full efficient heat value of the wattage, and that the residual warmth held in the oil continues to radiate long after the thermostat cycles, or the heater is unplugged.

The entire room becomes nicely liveable, closer quite comfortable, and not dry, due to the calm convection of heat. It’s good to feel comfortable. As far as safety, there all the right features, and given your home wiring or plug use isn’t problematic, there should be no trouble with outlets.

I specifically tested right away with several, and there is almost no noticeable warming of the plug, at full power switched on, so the heater and cord appear fine this way. A bad outlet can always cause problems, so be sure to check this way yourself.

I didn’t feel the need for remote controls, and don’t once it’s arrived, especially given the calm performance, and as those seem to be pretty poorly thought out anyway on many other designs. You’ll know if you want features of another type of heater, but if you like the idea of this kind, here’s one that should be good.

I had a careful look at complaints before choosing, which are few on this brand and model, and responses, as you can.

I like the heater. It can really heat a room up. I put it in my bedroom with the door closed. I only need to put it on low and move the top dial to a little past halfway for it to heat up. It’s a little tricky with the dial.

They could use a mark on it to let you know the direction to turn it. I have turned it the wrong way a few times and wondered why it didn’t heat, but it just wasn’t turned correctly. I’ll mark the dial.

Other than that I like it. After you get it cozy, you turn the dial down until you hear a click. The heater is suppose to keep the temperature steady, but it cools down and I get anxious and I heat it back up because it goes low.

I haven’t completely mastered that dial yet, but it’s only been a week or two since I got it. I reckon that I will get the hang of it soon enough. My other heater like this one was easier to use, but I can’t remember what brand it was.

I do like the heat, it is more comfortable than forced air blowing down on me. I’m more comfortable this way. I do recommend this one, but the dial is tricky. I gave it only four stars, because of the dial.

My Amaze Dual 400W Heater was purchased to heat a walk-in closet which is functionally a walk-in freezer in the wintertime. The installation was super easy. It warms very gently – my next electric bill will tell how efficiently.

It does have a minor start-up odor that needs to burn off. The advertising for the “Dual” unit does not explain that the exterior panel is a non-heated protective panel. I like it.

I installed one for my 89 yo dad in his family room. Keeps it very comfortable. I also installed on in my great room – not as effective due to my12ft ceilings but does take the chill off. I run it 24/7 since it’s chilly outside.

The product smelled of feces. Still seem the product was moist. Do shipment get inspected before coming to US?

This is an excellent product and a welcome addition to our 800 sq ft. camp. After a cold arrival, and turning up the thermostat 20, the camp is warmed up within an hour. Did I mention theres very little insulation in it? The unit fit neatly between 16 inch, on center studs, and included the chimney that exhausts right out the wall, and also intakes cold air from the outside to eliminate drawing heat from the living space.

The furnace has very little intrusion into the living space. Sure beats the old rectangular model that used to set in the center of the room! Good riddance!My only negative comments are it doesnt have a provision for an air filter, and makes a some irritating cracking metal expansion noise as it warms up, and contraction noise as it cools down.

This is the second one I purchased. I use it in my family room. I use it for extra comfort. I had my first one for at least ten years, although I had one minor problem with it, I feel it was a better one.

The fan went out along with the switch, I felt it was not worth getting it repaired, so I purchased this one. The only issue I have with this furnace is the thermostat that was suggested with this furnace.

I must adjust the thermostat manually when the temperature of the room changes. Sometimes it will automatically turn on but the temperature has to fall extremely. I live in Missouri and temperature in the winter becomes extremely cold.

Another issue is this furnace is extremely noisy but overall it is a good product.

We replaced a propane wall furnace in our 900 sf cabin with this electric model. Width wise it fit perfectly. Running wire and adjusting panel was no issue. Installing was relatively easy the only criticism is the electrical housing area is very small and a female’s hand can barely work around the wires to connect the thick gauge wires providing power to this unit.

The unit powered up just fine and works well with our nest thermostat. It is much quieter than our previous wall furnace and being located in the common area that is a bonus. I’ll be interested in seeing how this affects the power bill.

Relatively easy to install once you get the power to the unit. Blower motor is not that noisy and the amount of heat it throws out is amazing. Mounted in the living room as a front half of house heater.

Works well to supplement a heat pump on cold days. The only thing is that 6 AWG wire will not land on the terminals provided which is contrary to the installation manual. In order to connect, a different wiring method needs to be used that is not in the manual.

I am a licensed electrician so I know what I am doing. However it goes against the manual. I would definitely buy again.

Produces and distributes great amount of heat aided by its blower fan. Probably could have purchased smaller unit had I not underestimated how well it circulates the heat. It’s provides heat to the 1015sqft.

1st floor of my two story house in a heart beat. My only issue so far is with the installation booklet not being product specific. Can be confusing if you don’t pay strict attention to your specific unit install.

I am very happy with this furnace. Super clean and very quiet. I needed to replace my oil fired furnace, and it connected right up to the existing duct work. The electrical connections were very easy to access.

Good heat output. No problem keeping up with heating needs. I really like the efficiency of an electric furnace. No more heat loss up the chimney.

This was the replace for my very old one. My Grandson installed in about three to four hours since we had 2 trips to the store and lunch. First time we turned on the fan was great. Took a little to adjust the temperature finally end up at 70 degrees.

The weather was in 40’s during the day, and 19 at night. Can’t wait till early spring to install the air conditioner partAlso on both purchases was able to shop online, the information I could read and compare.

Overall a good system Having spent 36 years in the HVAC field 25 of those as a installer/ service tech it was a easy system to install. the only thing I can fault is the furnace housing could be a little sturdier.

It flexes out of shape slightly when the front cover is taken off. I have not started the system up yet ,I need to finish some duct work first. Dan.

Little skeptical about online purchase since there’s a lot of scams and frauds out there, however, Flame Authority proves me wrong. Their team is very approachable and my transaction with them is easy and simple.

As for the unit that I bought, it really warms our house and it doesn’t consume any space at all. Amazing!!!!.

This heater is so nice, I can just leave it on the floor or wherever in the house I need it to be, it can instantly warm the room and a month of use I can see that it is very cost efficient. Good job to Flame Authority for putting such an amazing collection of affordable yet effective units.
