20 Best Heating Pads For Cramps (2023 Updated)

I am so disappointed! I used to use these several years ago all the time when I regularly had painful periods. Thankfully, I hadn’t needed them for quite some time but recently picked up a box after surgery at the recommendation of my nurse.

I finally had to break open the box yesterday and was really looking forward to some relief. Unfortunately, the pad barely felt lukewarm. The box did say it could take up to 30 minutes to reach maximum temperature, so I patiently waited.

Six hours later, it still had not warmed up. I remember these getting hot and lasting beyond 8 hours! It literally did nothing for me yesterday. I don’t know what happened in the past 5 years or so, but this is definitely not the quality it used to be.

Maybe I have a bad batch or something, but I am wearing one again today and it is the same. I used to recommend these to family and friends all the time, now I don’t even know if I would repurchase. 😕.

These new multi-purpose joint wraps are terrible compared to the previous version. These dont stick to anything! Theres barely any adhesive at all. The old versions were larger and had a longer strap with Velcro that held firm and couldnt come off.

These? You look at them wrong and they peel off. I dunno what in the heck Thermacare was thinking when they redesigned these but they should fire that guy. At the price I paid its not worth the hassle to send them back but I definitely wont be buying them again.

Shame I ran out of the old style. DO NOT BUY.

I usually use heating pads at home for cramps for relief , and when I have to go to work or school I would constantly be in pain all day. I purchased these heating pads at Walmart and activated it and put in on my lower stomach and had heating pad relief all day at work ! I still had cramps but they were a lot more suppressed and tolerable.

It was activated for 8 hours and worked perfectly the whole time until I got home. I keep these stacked up just in case and they are great !.

These are truly a game changer! I have terrible cramping while on my cycle and the only thing that helps is heat. I would be doubbled-over in pain and unable to do anything. I use to lay in bed all day with the heating pad on high.

These feel great. I was able to work a 9hr shift and be okay for the most part. It does take anywhere from 15-30 minutes for them to warm up to their full potential so make sure you don’t wait until the last second if you know you’re going to be using them.

They’re comfortable, super descrete, and they stick well onto underwear. I wore it while at work in jeans and you couldn’t notice a thing. I’d recommend wearing cotton or a similar material since they might not stick that well to lace.

It might take a few tries to find which underwear work the best for them. (Currently the patch is slightly sticking to my jeans since my underwear are a little too short for the patch to fit correctly.

) However, I’m sure if I wore the granny underwear I have in the back of my drawer, I’m sure their would be no problem 🙂 Love these and will always have some on hand!!.

Typically my period pain is so intense that I am unable to do basic life activities. My productivity at work and life suffers once a month due to my period. NSAIDs do not provide enough relief and the typical heating pad is not portable or discrete.

I have been using these heating pads for a few years now and love them. They are warm enough to provide relief. They do not show through my clothes. I am able to be productive during my period including going to work, playing sports, camping or travelling.

I recommend this product to anyone that has a period cramps. I wish this product was more widely available. They are hard to find and when I do find them I always buy in bulk. Other Thermacare products are not as warm or discrete for menstrual cramp applications.

This was fun from the start. You should know that this is the second Tao 6L Dehumidifier installed at my home. One in the house, another now located in one of my outbuildings that stores memorabilia and camping gear.

It’s an added comfort to move between buildings and know that climate control can be managed by such capable equipment. It’s a lot to trust a device like this because there is a lot riding on the solid performance of this gear.

After a few years of using my first 6L, I knew that I’d be back for a second. My only worry was that it might be discontinued. I was so thankful to discover that this product remains among Tao’s offering.

So far the unit is very good. The unit moves a lot of air. The sticky notes attached to the tank was difficult to remove and left a lot of adhesive behind. I was able to use goof off to remove the adhesive, but be warned I used the basic goof off do not use the professional as it may damage the plastic.

The air exits the unit to the left side, so you will have to keep this in mind as to where you want to locate the unit in your home. The instructions have very poor translation, but this is not a show stopper.

I have purchased other items from Taotronics and found them to be an outstanding company, easy to contact and very responsive, no BS. The rating I gave is based upon my experience with the unit and the quality of the organization.

My review is more for the customer service than the actual dehumidifier. My original unit worked great for almost a year. Then the compressor stopped working. I contacted customer service and dealt with Sheya.

After checking everything they suggested the unit still did not work. They quickly sent me a new dehumidifier. The new one is working perfect. Excellent customer service!.

Ordered a soft heat pad which never arrived. Stuck in Amsterdam due to being classed as ‘Dangerous’ Goods due to the battery. I’ve been informed by DHL it will eventually be returned to USA. Hopefully I will receive a full refund.

If you live in Australia and order the soft heat pack, it won’t get through Europe.

This heating pad is the best heating pad I have ever owned. Wide and oh, so long to wrap around you where it hurts. Heats quickly for up to 2 hours of soft comfortable relaxation. Excellent plush quality and easy to use.

I am looking to use this for years to come. Well worth the price paid.

My lower back has been bothering me more and more lately – part of the reward of making it into my 50’s. I’ve accumulated a few hot packs over the years so I was surprised, and frankly a bit annoyed, to learn that my Sister-in-Law ordered a new hot pad for me.

While I very much appreciated her thoughtfulness, I have an aversion to clutter and figured the three hot pads I already had were two too many. So, obviously I thought having a fourth hot pad would be a complete waste.

How wrong I was! Well, I was correct that four hot pads are ridiculous however it is the other three hot pads that are going in the hand-me-down pile – I’m already in love with the PureRelief XL Heating Pad; it’s definitely a keeper! The quality is clearly superior to the other hot pads.

This review is written 2 years after the purchase of our first Pure Enrichment heating pad. This heating pad is high-quality, warms up to a nice, hot level without burning the skin, and is comfortable directly on the skin or over a shirt and conforms nicely to whatever position you may be sitting or laying in.

It’s been such a good purchase, we bought a second one to keep upstairs. My wife has a physically demanding & painful job as an ICU nurse, and this heating pad brings her back relief after a tough 12 hour shift.

Love these micro heating pads. I have purchased several over the years. For my family and to give as gifts. The warm moist heat is incredibly comforting whether using for aches and pains or as just a cozy bed warmer.

During my husband’s fight with cancer he would get so terribly cold. I would use one warmer behind his back and one across his lap. It was the only thing I found to take away the chills. Much better and safer than electric heating pads.

It holds heat quite well. Fits perfectly in my Microwave. Really helps my back. Instructions say to heat for 1 minute 20 secs, I like 1:30 but anything over that is super hot.

There is only one setting and it is, for me, perfect as medium heat. No chance to accidentally turn it up high. Never needed a low setting with other products.

Its didnt heated very well. It hardly works in regards to its temperature which is its primary function. I dont recomend this heating pad. It only has one setting and its hardly works hot enough.

Awesome Heat Therapy Pad!!! Takes a few minutes to heat up with microwave, heat lasts a long time. I have had it about a year now, now burns or leaks in the fabric. It is heavy but I like that, probably why it retains the heat for so long.

Check the dimensions to make sure it fits in your microwave because it is large !.

I love that it is a weighted heating or cooling pad. The heat or should I say the moist heat is excellent! I would definitely recommend this microwavable heating pad to anyone.

Its the perfect extra large size for my side/ back area where I pulled the muscle. I like the weight and it’s not too heavy for the microwave.

I was looking for a heating pad to fit my whole back. This is definitely it. It fits my whole back and then some. It has many heat and timer options. It truly is very relaxing. It comes with a nice travel bag/case and a super soft covering that feels like a blanket.

after suffering with a muscle disease for over 12 years along with osteoarthritis, this is the highest quality pain relief I have ever used. I like that it does not have a scent, and that these are a size that cover a good portion of muscle.

I use them mostly to cover my shoulder and down into my upper back. as I age, I expect I will need them even more.

Super easy controls. Larger size helps a lot with lower back especially. Very comfortable. Also brings relief for Crohn’s and other abdominal cramps. A real blessing at a good price !

I don’t ever want another brand. I have chronic illness, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, on and on. I am a heat pad pro. This changed the game for me. When you’re in chronic pain, something like this can make it more bearable.

It’s SO soft! Not like the polyester cases. It’s next level goodness, which makes the heating part even cozier. Seriously, if you’re considering it, do it. The large size and softness make this feel like a luxury item.

It was a splurge for me to get it, and I’m so glad I did! I don’t think I can go back to the other kinds of heating pads. This changed the game! I’ve bought 3 of these now, and using all at once is soooo therapeutic.

Okay…this is super easy to write because I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PRODUCT. It’s an item I must have in my life for pain relief and sheer comfort. Helps me de-stress every single day. In the past I ended up buying several of “S” brand always replacing one after a year or so.

Not the case with Pure Enrichment!!! Works PERFECTLY, fabric is so soft, launders easily (following exact instructions) and the seaglass color is wonderful. I have bought three of the heating pads, others were excellent gifts.

The buttons are not easy to use. You cannot tell the if you have turned on high or Low. Since I use a heating pad for severe pain and I rely on this throughout the night. I need a heating pad that I can feel with my hands whether it is on, and what temp.

This heating pad is also clumsy. I would not buy again nor would I recommend.

This heating pad is well worth the price. It heats up fast and has several settings. Ive bought three of them for myself and as gifts. A must have item.

Works great in times when you cannot be sitting at home with the heating pad, but you need something. The heat is nowhere as strong as an electric heating pad of course, but it does still give some comfort.

However, I wish there was a way to have it be directly on the skin. By having to adhere it to my underwear it keeps it lower than where I really need the heat applied, so I don’t feel like I’m getting the full benefit.

I was wondering if there would be a way to design it with some flaps or wings that could wrap around you, and have the adhesive there instead of directly behind where the heat is coming from.

I always get the worst cramps the first couple of days on my period, to the point where I cannot walk and the only thing that helps with the pain is my heating pad and curling up in a ball on the floor.

I suffer from mild PCOS and luckily have regular periods but my cramps are the worst thing ever. Now I work full time so when it’s that time of the month I dread having to stand all day at work and pretend like everything is all good.

These patches are amazing and comfortable and stay warm for a good amount of time. 10/10 recommend.

This could just be me and my sensitive skin, but wearing one to help alleviate my cramps has caused my stomach to break out in an allergic reaction. And before you ask, I am *not* putting it directly on my skin; I’ve tried wearing it stuck to the outside of my underwear, and even to the outside of my leggings, and it still creates “toasty skin syndrome”, which makes me incredibly itchy, and now I have a few random blisters from the reaction.

Otherwise, I’d love to give these heating pads 5 stars. They stay hot for hours (about 6 hours or so), and the adhesive is durable enough to be removed and reapplied multiple times throughout the day.

I like the size of them, too, as they fit comfortably right over the area where my cramps are always the worst.

I’ve always used the cheapest heating pads I could find from the drug stores because I have some female issues that require heat in order for me to function like an adult. This last month, I had that going on and what feels like a kidney stone starting to move around and I realized quickly that my cheap heating pad wasn’t covering my front, side and lower back at the same time, even though I’m not a big person.

So, off to Amazon I went to find one that would wrap me up like a burrito. BINGO! It is so soft and it covers every place I need it to cover. When I went to bed last night, the kidney pain started back up so I got up and got my new trusty friend and was asleep within 15 minutes of getting it on my side and back.

What I love is that this thing is so soft and it just wraps perfectly without adding more weight. I’m like princess and the pea when I sleep so anything extra can keep me awake for hours. Not this though.

I can’t even feel it except for the heat it’s producing. There are no heating elements inside the pad that cause bulk or effect the ability to wrap it around you comfortably. It just feels like a soft blanket that has a cord running from it.

As for the heat it produces, I have only used it on 3 and it’s perfect. I can still go up to 6 if I need more, but 3 is plenty of heat for most things. I will be buying one for my daughter as well and I’ll update this review if something happens and my viewpoint has changed.

I purchased this product for my handicapped mother for Mother’s Day to try and help her get some relief in her back, buttocks, and legs as she suffers greatly with pain in those areas. She absolutely loves it.

The XXXL size covers her lower back, buttocks, upper part of her thighs with no problem. It is super easy to use, the digital display is easy for her to see, the adjustable temperature control is very convenient.

This is a wonderful alternative for her as she gets tired of using sore muscle rubs or patches which irritates her skin. She reported to me that she was indeed able to get quite a bit of relief with this heating pad and was extremely pleased that her problem areas were covered at one time and she didn’t need to keep adjusting the pad to cover one area or another.

She was also able to adjust the heat as needed quite easily. Definitely worth the purchase.

This product has been a smart purchase. First, I love the size. For my needs the extra inches completely covers the area I need covered, which makes my time more effective since I am able to do it all at once instead of sections.

Second, this heating pad’s temperature control is top notch. Within a minute or two, I am feeling the maximum heat that was set. I love the option of 6 different heating temps. My personal setting is three, not too much or too little.

Third, the design is far above any heating pad I ever owned. It is soft, more like a blanket than a heating pad, and the blue is is so soothing to the eye. I highly recommend this heating pad. It is a deluxe of heating pads.

I tried a patch out when I was experiencing some usual cramping. I tried attaching it to the front of my underwear and let the heat get to work, but ultimately had to move it to my shirt. The patch provided several hours of comforting heat.

Pros: – The patch stayed warm for longer than the stated 6 hours, I think mine lasted for a few hours beyond that, which was a pleasant surprise. – The heat was consistent and helped to soothe my cramps, when I felt it.

– These are thin and discreet, which, if I was able to wear as directed, would be a dream. – Natural ingredients always appreciated, and this is something I might consider buying for my daughters when they reach “that age.

” Cons: – Shape. I think a larger, curved design would be an improvement as my cramping usually extends from ovary to ovary (not just on one side). -Size. The patch measures 2. 75″ x 3. 5″ inches which was a little small for me.

I am a big girl, 5’4″ and about 300lbs. I have had kids so have a “mom apron” which made it difficult to adhere these to my underwear, so I put on my shirt while I was hanging out at home on the sofa.

I had to press it into myself in order to get the heat properly situated.

I have been excited to use this patch, but due to outside factors, I had to wait longer than normal for an opportunity. Once my menses started though, it was amazing. The patch was much larger than any of my underwear, so I did have to put on a tank top to have something for it to stick to.

And make sure it’s fairly snug so the patch doesn’t move position. Anyway, it took a few minutes to heat up, and it doesn’t get as hot as some other heating pads, which is actually nice. I wasn’t really sure why the essential oils are in it though.

They’re sealed in, so you can’t really smell them and they can’t get out to absorb into your skin (nor should they because it’s pretty dangerous to use them undiluted like that anyway), so that feature is just weird to me.

But the heat was perfect. It calmed my cramping uterus while I relaxed and read, and I ended up falling asleep. It was convenient to pull it off and toss it, but I’d SO much rather have something reusable.

Both for budget and personal responsibility. I did receive this product to test for free in exchange for my honest review.

My biggest comment to make on these is that they don’t get hot enough to soothe intense cramps. I like the concept of providing a more natural approach towards women’s health but at the expense of not getting full relief that concept is just not worth it in my opinion.

I still rated this a 4/5 because the amount of heat needed is very personal; not everyone needs the level of heat that I do. What I like about this is the natural approach, for one. I also like that you get 3 patches for under $10.

It’s travel friendly and you can use this while being active. You don’t need to worry about placing a cloth between the pad and skin because of its design but always be cautious and if it is too hot for you then you should place extra cloth between your skin and the patch.

I purchased this product over the weekend to deal with a very sore lower back. I think the product is fantastic as it allows both hot and cold, which I am using intermittently throughout the day and night.

It’s just the right size to cover the lower back and the Velcro strap is comfortable and holds it in place. The gel pack is really convenient to stick in the freezer and it stays cold for a long time.

This is the first heating pad I have bought, and it’s better than I imagined. I get severe cramps and I could feel the muscles in my lower back and abdomen loosen minutes into the pad heating up. I even felt better enough that.

The strap is also adjustable and it fits very comfortably around my body. I’ve worn it in bed to help with sleep and while working. Truly the best money I’ve ever spent.
