20 Best Heat Protector For Hair (2023 Updated)

I wasn’t sure about this heat protectant by some of the reviews since I have the issue with having oily hair only near my roots. When I got this and used it I was so surprised because it didn’t make my hair oily AT ALL like some reviews say.

which leads me to think they aren’t using it properly. It smells amazing too! Made my hair PIN straight! If you have issues with humility I suggest using BTZ beyond the zone humidity blocking spray and use how it says to or it’ll make your hair sticky.

works like magic!! And I live in Florida so the humidity definitely affects my hair otherwise, especially on the beach when it’s windy my hair stays in place which is huge plus! Chi spray has helped with flyaways too.

So all in all I definitely suggest this and if you want something that controls frizzy hair this is definitely it! And for humidity the BTZ humidity blocker spray.

I used this product before running a 360 degree flat iron quickly through my hair. It looked like i had burned all my hair; every single end was sticking out a different direction. I have very long , thick half Asian hair.

I almost panicked ; my ends were sticking together and I couldn’t believe I had burned my hair with only 360 degrees. I wet it down and blew it out some more and it looked a little better. I am only off the ledge because these reviews say this happened to other people and I hope it will be ok after I wash it again.

I really like this product. I usually use it when I’m using heat on my hair (which isn’t frequently). I have also used it as a moisturizer on wet/dry hair. It smells great and the argan oil adds needed moisture to my hair.

Also doesn’t make my hair greasy, like other brands do. I would recommend giving it a try!.

Heat protection is uber important and this product certainly delivers on its mission to heat protect, de-frizz, and condition your hair. It’s very user friendly. Just point and spray yo! I have some unruly frizzy hairs that are difficulty to tame.

My hair is noticeably de-frizzed and “shampoo commercial glossy” after I comb this through my hair. It takes a few minutes to dry down, but that’s not a deal breaker for me. Minus 1 star due to the extremely potent salon-smell.

I sprayed this in my room and my family could smell it throughout our house. You will literally smell like a walking salon for a bit, so find ways to air it out! I usually flip my hair a few times outside and it dissipates the potent smell a bit.

This product works perfectly! It presses the hair as though I came out of a salon! It definitely protects my hair from blow-drying and flat ironing. This product is a must-have!

I was so excited when I received Redken’s Quick Blowout. I have been looking for a good blowout product that had all my needs wrapped into one. This made my hair blow dry really fast I was done within 5 minutes.

It reduced some of the crazy frizz I usually get after blow drying and added an overall more smoothing look. I didn’t have to spend much time at all flat ironing my ends thanks to this. It’s also a great heat protectant and that is also a must for me and my platinum blonde hair.

I like the scent it’s a little floral and sweet smelling to me. When I used it the first time I clearly put way too much in my hair and it made my hair crunchy. I would recommend less is more. Don’t use as much as you think you need and you can always add more later.

I tried using alone and then paired it with Redken’s Big Blowout Jelly.

I never write reviews, but I had to for this. This is the worst product I’ve ever used in my entire life. As I am writing this I’m trying to get a brush through my hair after drying it with this product.

It took me twice as long to blow dry it because it just turned into one big knot. I know how primers work because I’ve use the L’Oreal one multiple times with no issue. This made my hair dry, knotty, and extremely hard to blow dry or straighten.

I’m going to have to wash my hair again after just washing it to get this product out of my hair. I don’t know what the deal is with Redken or Ulta but it seems like the Redken products that I bought from Ulta recently have been terrible.

I seriously feel like I am owed a refund on this complete garbage. Do yourself a favor and do not buy this product.

Only not giving 5 stars because I can’t honestly say it gives gloss or shine. I have other verb products that I love. I bought it just for the heat protectant, I had been using dry bar’s hot toddy and love that product but cannot deal with the smell.

This spray smells PHENOMENAL. I wash and style my hair about once a week and use heat protectant when it’s been dry for a day, my hair will usually stay styled for the remaining days. I like that it’s not an aerosol (for earth!) but be warned that because it’s a spray bottle it does go on and make your hair pretty wet, you just have to give it a few minutes to dry before styling.

It is a little sticky as other reviews said but that fades and it does give pretty good hold. I was scared that because it has that stickiness my hair would get messed up when I slept on it, but I was careful putting it up and it looked fine the next day.

I don’t notice any real benefit other than having a heat protectant but if you’re looking for a non aerosol heat protectant that smells AMAZING, this is it.

In exchange for my time to test and review this product, it was sent to me for free. Honestly I’m not sure why it was sent to me as I have fine hair that is prone to looking greasy pretty quickly, and I don’t use heat on my hair either.

That having been said, I wouldn’t buy the Verb Glossy Shine Spray myself. It’s just too heavy on my hair and doesn’t do me any favors in the looking greasy department. If you have medium to thick hair that is more coarse and you actually need something to help with heat protection this might be a much better fit for you.

But if you are like me with thin hair that gets greasy fast I really think you’d enjoy the product I’ve been using for the past 5+ years much more and that is the Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. I’m leaving 3 stars because I feel like I was obviously the wrong target audiance for the product and it smells very nice (clean and fresh but not too strong).

Also, if I use it on freshly washed hair with the intention to wash my hair again the very next day then it’s ok too, but not ideal for what I like/need.

I received Verb Glossy Shine Spray with Heat Protection free from PinchMe in exchange for an honest review. I really wanted to like this product. I have a head full of 2C and 3A curls. I was very excited about the potential of a product that would provide hydration and shine for everyday use.

I dispensed the product into my hands and applied it to my hair that way. Unfortunately, not only did I not experience any moisturizing effects, but it made my hair crispy (regardless of if I applied it to wet or dry hair).

I was very disappointed. I was looking forward to writing this review so that I do not have to use this product anymore. I do not use heat to style my hair so I cannot speak to that claim.

I have long, thin, naturally blond hair that is highlighted. My stylist introduced me to me when I discovered that the “Lighter Elements Smoothing Fluid” had been discontinued. I use this for the days when I curl or straighten my hair, but I also started using it even with a simple the blow dry and it adds a smoothness & shine that I really like.

It also controls the frizzies at the ends of my hair that I can get when I’m past due for a cut. I put it on my wet hair or in between my blow drying. Love this product !.

I picked up this product a few months ago at the suggestion of a hair stylist friend, but hadn’t really gotten a chance to try it out. I have noticed that my ends have been looking a bit rough and I wondered if I needed to do something to amp up my heat protection game.

I regularly blow dry my hair, then hit it with a flat iron or curling wand. I’ve found that this is a great example of a product that multitasks and does it well – it has helped my hair to feel softer and more conditioned, while serving as a buffer against more substantial heat damage.

My hair has been looking healthier and I think some of that can be attributed to using this product from Aveda! I’d look into it if you’re someone with dry or damaged tresses as a result of a steady routine of heat styling.

If you’re looking to get serious about your hair health, I would highly recommend switching all products to Davines.

I’m really confused by the positive reviews! This is the worst product in its kind I’ve ever tried – used after the Momo shampoo and conditioner and it made my hair crunchy and sort of tacky – it was more like a sea salt spray and nowhere near a nice smoothing heat protector.

Waste of money!.

Love this stuff!! It’s one of the only products that actually helps my hair. When I use it it looks like I’ve had a professional blowout. And it dries so quickly. I have a lot of fine, damaged hair that usually takes forever to dry.

Reminds me of Redkins Pillow Proof, which was discontinued. This also smells like summer and coconuts. The only bad part is the pump- I break it off at least once every time I use it. Hate the design.

Otherwise it would be 5 stars.

I may not use this product to its full potential but for what I need it’s honestly great. I have wavy hair that is mid back length and it gets to be a frizzy mess, especially now that it’s summer time.

The humidity where I live is very high. This product is perfect for me. I spray it in when my hair is damp and I just blow dry my hair. Then I spray just a bit at the ends after it’s dry and brush through.

Makes me hair feel soft and manageable and really cuts down on the frizz. I will continue to buy this.

Thisheat protectant hair spray is much worse than it’s serum counterpart. Grab the serum version (without the sprayer). The serum version does a much better job at actually protecting, styling, and covering all your hair.

This spray version gets all over your face and clothes when you spray. I tried to remedy this by spray into my hand and then spreading to hair, but mist particles were still getting into my nose and I couldn’t spread it into all my hair either way.

It’s just too thin.

Aww I bought this in a rush as I was out of hair protector, but honestly I don’t like it as much. Somewhere I feel like it’s makes my hair greasy , and also has some short of unpleasant fragrance. Price wise its affordable, but compared other heat protection I have used this my least favorite.

I had an opportunity to try Hair Food Protecting Coconut & Argan Heat Shield solution for my hair. After drying my hair, I applied the heat protection blend spray in my hair; I really like how the solution smells very tropical and coconut.

Then, I straightened my hair with the heat protection solution. Usually, my hair would be dry and frizzy, but since I sprayed the heat protection solution on my hair, my hair was straight plus shiny and lush.

Additionally, my hair did not create any split ends within 10 days I tested. Very pleased with the result I saw using Hair Food’s heat protection blend. The heat protection solution has some great benefits for our hair.

I noticed that my hair is healthier perhaps because of the Argan oil. I highly recommend this to all women, men, and children who like to blow dry, straighten hair, and who like to curl their hair. Plus, paranormal free, sulfate free, dude free, and mineral oil free.

Hair Food Coconut & Argan Oil Heat Protectant Spray is great for those who use a dryer & or hot iron to style their hair. I washed my hair, did a quick blow dry then spayed Hair Food throughout my hair and blew out my hair.

Then I sprayed a little more throughout my hair & used a hot iron as I usually do to straighten the frizz & style my hair. My hair is feels protected frm all the heat from the styling tools I use. Hair food heat leaves my hair feeling soft, smooth and silky to the touch.

Not brittle like it can be after using heat on my hair for styling. Hair Food really makes a difference with my hair and protecting it from the elements for styling unlike other brands I have tried. I really like Hair Food Coconut & Argan Oil Heat protectant spray and it even has a nice scent not over powering.

I am looking forward to using this product more and feel comfortable styling my hair every day rather a few times a week to keep loose curls at the bottom of my length. I recommend this product and I will be purchasing when I run out of this spray!.

The Sexy Hair brand is quickly and easily becoming one of my favorite go-to hair products for my coarse, thick and often unruly and difficult to style hair! It’s been a real challenge for me to be able to find hair products that actually DO what they say and don’t leave my hair with a greasy, weighed-down residue.

However, noticing this product on the shelf in my local store, I opted to purchase it having had success with the heat protectant spray version. After using it for the firs time, I noticed a decrease in the amount of time I spend blow-drying my hair.

Even if it was a couple minutes, it’s still proof it is working! Plus, there was no greasy residue, or unpleasant odor; in fact, it has a pleasant, subtle scent and is weightless. Though it’s main intention is to protect hair from heat damage, I noticed a decrease in frizz as I styled my hair and was pleased with the end result! I definitely will be sticking with the Sexy Hair brand and this very product.

While this product is a bit heavy on your hair, it works really well! Wouldn’t recommend if you have really oily hair. I just got a new curl wand that gets SUPER HOT and this stuff did the job to protect my hair and style without falling straight.

This is my holy grail for heat protectant. I love most Sexy Hair products but this is a must for me. I have very curly hair and heat style almost everyday. This product has restored my locks. They are smoother and shiny and way easier to manage.

So, I never used OUAI products before until another influencer site sent me a product to review. My first thought was that their products are way over priced and I’d never be able to afford them so I’ll review those and be on my way…MY GOD!!! I am by no means wealthy but I will find a way to get these products.

I got the hair oil because I live in Florida and have constant issues with frizzy hair. I was using Garnei hair oil because it seamed to work well enough and was super affordable and I didn’t hate the smell.

I will never use it again now that I’ve tried OUAI!!! To begin, the smell is the most luxuriously-soft, highly intoxicating, want to smell all over-scent I’ve ever smelled!!! Like, when you smell a rich lady and want to know why she smells so good! Next, the stuff works amazingly! I have middle of my back-long hair and again, it’s frizzy.

I use 3-4 pumps of this oil to tame my locks to perfection. Super easy to use and doesn’t leave my hands oily and a mess. I can’t rave enough about how beautiful and fragrant my hair is when I use this!.

I got this oil in a Sephora favorites set (I paid) and since then I’ve bought (again paid out of my own pocket) two full size bottles and I hope they never change this formula. My hair is long (waist length) and very fine, slightly thin, damaged, and I have always had split ends.

Every other hair oil I’ve tried has weighed my hair down and felt like I had product in my hair. Every other oil I’ve tried has caused my hair to tangle more. This hair oil is completely weightless, and after using it it never feels like there’s anything in my hair but it tames my frizz and the defines My curls so perfectly.

I apply it when my hair is towel dried and then let my hair air dry and will sometimes reapply one to two pumps few times after it has air dried to redefine curls and it never builds up and never weighs my hair down.

I don’t know how they do it but I hope they never stop. I wish it was a bit more product for the price but I still am willing to pay for it.

I bought this to replace the biolage one that I hated. This Hot Toddy can is small nut comes with a large price. I did not like that it can only be used on dry hair, I prefer to add my product when my hair is damp.

The can is aerosol, so the mist chokes you when it comes out. My husband even told me to turn on the fan, but he’s so sensitive about girl stuff. My hair was dry, soft and shiny (I used Dry Bar Liquid Glass) after using my big ceramic round brush and my buttercup blow dryer (I’m all about dry bar!) SIDE NOTE: I don’t always flat iron my hair, so I want something that also protects against the heat from the blow dryer.

So I was left with pretty shiny hair with a curl at the ends. I applied the Hot Toddy spray and it was like I added a dull layer of spray over my hair, then I flat ironed it. The result was not one I was happy with at all, I could not run my fingers through my hair anymore and my shine was completely gone.

I want heat protection and shine, I know there are other products out there that offer both but come with a price tag. This product has a laundry list of not so great ingredients. So if you’re willing to dish out the money and are not worried about having the all natural, paraben free blah blah blah stuff.

Keep looking, Paul Mitchell has a few good ones, comparable in price. I have very tick hair, past my shoulders and is color treated only at the roots very 6 weeks. I have a natural wave and lots of frizz.
