20 Best Heat Protectant Fine Hair (2023 Updated)

I choose this product, as I always use heat protection spray on my hair when using my hair straighteners. The product arrived very quickly and has a stylish look about it. The spray bottle is easy to handle and use.

I tried the product on my hair after it had been washed and dried, as this is when I usually use this type of product. When sprayed on my hair, I noticed that it had a lovely smell but made my hair appear wet, which I was a bit concerned about, using straighteners on damp hair.

I straightening my hair in the usual way applying the spray to each section just before I straightened it. As the product made my hair damp again, I thought it would be difficult to use the straighteners on my hair, but it didn’t, they glided over my hair with ease, not causing any pulling.

Once finished it left my hair feeling very soft and smelling lovely.

With the positive reviews I wanted to love this but the truth is, I’ve noticed FAR more breakage since I started using this. My hair gets knotty way more easily and it does leave my hair feeling weighted and greasy.

On a separate note, the price really isn’t justifiable. I have average length hair, just below my shoulders and I have run out of this within just a few months. I wash my hair once a week and apply heat maybe once a week at most.

For that reason alone, I absolutely wouldn’t ever purchase this again.

Tried to Track down the smoothing cream. which I’ve used for several years; it’s perfect for my hair type – color treated. curly and tendency to be frizzy. The spray is just OK – nowhere near as good as the cream.

Hope the manufacture re-introduces it. It seems it’s been discontinued.

My husband and I use Rene Furterer products exclusively and have for years. Huge fans. While I’m certain this spray offers protection, the scent, unlike other Furterer products is a negative to me. On the plus side, only a very small amount is needed and a bottle lasts a very long time.

I like the product and it works well with my flat iron to smooth out my hair. I do like that it seems to have a little hold without being tacky or stiff. I have really dry hair and when I use this I do have to put on a smoothing oil afterward.

It seems to make my hair just a little dry. Overall, I like the product and if you don’t have especially dry hair it’ll work great.

I have curly hair that is very fine, fly away so any product I use generally builds up very quickly in my hair because I battle against how fly away it quickly becomes. As it’s curly, washing every day is not a healthy option to prevent build up and maintain curly hair.

I have tried far too many products on my curly hair and they never help with the frizz and fly away strays, so I wasn’t expecting much out of this product. The first time I used it two days in a row in fear that day two would not achieve great results if I didn’t apply the spray and the product build-up was very evident.

I washed my hair a few days later and decided to change my tactic and applied the spray once in three days. So day one of a fresh wash, then day two I simply dampened my hair, diffuse dried my hair, and did the same on day three (dampened hair and diffuse dried).

This proved to be a game-changer. My hair doesn’t have any build-up and the product is as effective as the first day of application. I’m so impressed with the results. I don’t have major fly away strays, I have a great definition from root to tip and after day three my hair still has a great body without the typical build-up I have had to deal with in the past to minimise frizz/flyaway curly hair.

It’s been very sunny and windy this week and my hair has withstood both these conditions. I cannot emphasise how excited I am to have found something that finally works on my awkward hair.

Very disappointed as I usually love Davines products. If you expect shine and protection this one does not do it. It is mostly for the volume and styling I guess. It is very sticky. After blowing dry my hair doesn’t look glossy and healthy as usually after primers.

They look messy and damaged even more if without primer at all. I have normal long natural hair. After this primer, it feels dry and like after bleach. (.

This product has *literally* transformed my hair, I cannot rate it highly enough. I have fine, shoulder length hair that is prone to frizz. Even the tiniest bit of moisture in the air will ruin any kind of style and frizz the life out of my hair! Not any more! I cannot believe how well this stuff works.

Even in a drizzly shower with no umbrella, my hair stays smooth and shiny. It’s amazing – and I never thought I’d ever say that about any hair product. Try it – you won’t be disappointed.

I like this product. Before using this I didn’t really use an official heat protectant I just used oil. But since using this product I have noticed a decrease in my breakage. I use this before blow drying and flat ironing.

It also makes my hair feel moisturized and softer. The only issue I had was that to top came off in shipping but I was able to replace it and it still squirts.

I really liked this product. My hair felt really soft and moisturized after using it and it didn’t have a strong perfume fragrance. My only issue with it was that it didn’t seem to have any hold. This is important for me because sometimes I like to curl my hair.

Other than that. great product.

I find this product works wonderful on Medium to Thick/Course hair texture. If client has dry fine hair I recommend using very little if client hair is sensitive to oil or moisture. I recommend this and love the smooth feel to the hair.

I seriously love this stuff. I was introduced to it when I used to work at a salon and it was one of the favourites among the hairstylists there. It provides shine, a little hydration, and a little bit of hold without EVER being heavy on the hair.

I have really long but super fine hair that’s prone to oil so I rarely use hair products at all aside from shampoo and conditioner. Sometimes I’ll use hairspray but this is different? It’s hard to explain but this never weighs down my hair.

I’ve been struggling with my hair as I turned 50. My hair texture and hair strength has changed drastically and looks wiry but is still fine, if that makes sense. Honestly, when I use this product with my Hot Tools 24karot blow out brush, my hair reminds me of when I was younger; it’s just so shiny and soft.

The smell is pleasant and the only con is you do have to be careful not to add too much product to avoid greasiness appearance but only a small amount is needed to achieve beautiful results. Using this product with my Hot Tools blow out brush gets my long, wavy hair (3/4 down my back) dried, styled, & beautiful in less than 15 or 20 minutes and I don’t need to follow up with the straight iron at all.

Nexxus – Nexxus Leave-in Prep has a way of improving the shape of my hair as far as the shine and heat protection. But it is also has an even better way of detangling my long hair. I have always had issues with tangles in my long hair and have tried several other products.

I think this is one of my favorites now. The smell is very nice and it is not over the top as far as being overbearing. I put it mostly on the middle and down to the ends of my hair for my specific needs and it does help keep my hair looking the best it can.

Leave in products like this are something I always look for, it helps lessen the time it takes to do for my hair. This product helps do that for me. I feel like it does protect my hair from heat as well, because I blow dry my hair daily.

And have noticed some slight improvement with the dryness. I am going to keep using it!.

I’ve never left a bad review before. My hair is about 18 inches long, straight, healthy. I just had it trimmed and switched to Nexxus shampoo and conditioner. It was amazing. So I tried this leave in.

I sprayed 2 spritzes in my hands and worked it through my hair. I can’t get it out. It’s been 2 weeks. It’s like wax. It’s like trying to get candle wax out of carpet. It’s clumped together. I used clarifying shampoo twice in a row this morning and will keep up with that for a week or 2.

Otherwise, I’m going to have to get a pixie cut. after so many years growing up out. I’m so upset by this. This stuff has absolutely ruined my hair. It’s like the start of beeswax if I were to dred my hair.

Let me start by saying I received this as my very first voxbox, thank you so much! I am a licensed hair stylist so my hair tools get up to 400 degrees so the protection it offered, fabulous! I used the today for the first time.

The scent is very light, reminding me of a rose. Very tolerable for me, as I am so allergic to scents of products. My hair is shoulder length so I probably used about 10-12 sprays of product on damp hair.

It delivered on the detangling aspect as I skipped using conditioner to test this out, 100% there! Blew dry my hair and noticed more shine, softness and volume instantly. A+ there! I usually wear my hair with a wave/soft curl.

my hair wouldn’t hold a curl after using this product so I wore my hair straight for the day. It did look healthier than it normally does if I decide to wear my hair straight so that was nice, had more of a flow to it, more movement.

I will try using 1/2 the amount next time to see if I can hold a wave/curl and have the same shine, softness and volume. I would recommend this product for sure! Especially to the people who wear a straight hairstyle daily!.

Let me start off by saying that my hair has been through a lot of trauma so the fact that I finally went to a professional hairstylist after like 2 1/2 years says a lot! Since the pandemic has hit us I’ve been learning how to take care of my hair more and make it more healthier and back to its fullness.

So me taking care of my hair more I’ve been staying away from heat as much as I could and air drying my curly hair a lot more. My hairstylist using this to protect my hair from the heat…I couldn’t thank her enough as it really helped my hair and left no heat damage in the process! When my old hair products run out I will definitely be picking this up as well as all soft shampoo and conditioner because my hair has never felt so good 💙💙 Must I say this is the only hair stylist who actually used professional salon products on my hair and not something you can pick up at the drugstore 🙌🙌🙌 and the difference was very very evident 🥰🥰😘.

Wonderful product! It makes it much easier to style my hair and leaves it feeling softer then most other products ever have. Once it dries completely it doesn’t leave any residue or make my hair feel stiff.

I also haven’t had any problems with brittle hair or split ends since I’ve been using this. Pair it with a good shampoo and conditioner and it leaves your hair looking perfect!! The only downside is it doesn’t keep my hair from curling when I get in humid conditions, which I didn’t really expect to happen but you can always hope!.

I purchased this product on my own and I must say, it was well worth the price. I gave me a nice, smooth blowout, with no frizz or flyaways. For reference: my hair is wavy, bleached, dry and subject to an immense amount of breakage if I don’t use sufficient hair care.

This also serves as a heat protectant prior to blow drying; which is always a plus!!!! Con: I don have fine but dense hair, that being said, if you have fine hair be aware of the amount you use as it can leave your hair oily, which most products can do to fine hair anyway.

I have fine hair. I am told I have a lot of fine hair by a well-meaning stylists because they are wonderful people and want me to feel good about my thin hair. I have lost my hair due to thyroid disease.

I have lost my hair due to cancer. I am just thrilled to death to have any hair. But. now I am even happier because I can now make my fine hair look full. Slam dunk, best ever hair spray for women with fine hair.

Use it sparingly because it is so strong. Use it only after you have your hair exactly as you want it because once you spray it on it will do its job and hold your hair in place. It is not sticky, and it doesn’t look like it’s there, but it is there doing a magnificent job making you look great.

P. S. If you don’t comb it out before you go to bed you are rewarding in the morning with soft bouncy curls.

Wow. This spray keeps curls/waves in my straight hair for 2 days without touch up. It’s a bit pricey, yes— but you get what you pay for. It also protects against heat, and makes your hair feel so smooth.

I was really impressed with this styling spray. So many products claim to have “memory” type qualities, but this one does!! Your hair bounces back in to place based on how you styled it using the spray.

It pairs well with the cult classic hair spray in the same line….

My hair is aging (ugh) and no matter what moisture treatment/oil treatments I’ve tried, it always frizzes in just about any weather. I’ve been trying so many products the past 2years to get my shiny, bouncy hair back, and this worked! Even better for blowdrying than R+Co Park Avenue! Exactly, this was more then just a heat shield protectant spray for me. It has an leave-in-conditioner that my hair can benefit from and did. It helped repair my hair while drying it and gave it shine as well.

It is also color safe and it helps seedup my drying time while being heat safe up to 450 degree F. All this while leaving my hair with a beautiful shine and frizz free thanks to it’s argan oil that can trap moisture to restore luster.

I think I found my new favorite heat shield protectant, thanks Pura d’or.

I use this in combo with the biotin shampoo and conditioner. I think this trio is the best there is. I put this on before I blow or air dry my hair, because Oklahoma is HOT and it has made a difference in the softness and frizziness of my hair.

Great heat sheild because it held all day when at my sons baseball tournement. I was shocked that I wasn’t the hot mess express in terms of hair since that’s how it used to be when out all day. I highly recommend this with the shampoo and conditoner!.

Overall I would say Dark and Lovely Blowout line exceeded my expectations. Living in Florida has made me lose hope of ever being able to find a system that could go toe to toe with Florida humidity. I think this humidity finally found its match.

By using The Dark and Lovely Blowout line even with 90 degree weather, humidity and rain my naturally 3C hair has stayed straight, soft and shiny for weeks with minimal touch up. Additionally, I noticed less damage in my hair after straightening.

I give credit to the fact that this system covers all necessary areas of the straightening process. The heat shield primer mist did an excellent job at peeping and protecting my hair for to 400 heat that was applied, however I still had to use a serum to get the smooth results I wanted.

I would have used the included shine gloss serum balm but even in a super small amount it was way to HEAVY for my hair. Instead of smoothing it drastically weighed down my hair and made it look lifeless.

All in all I would give this line a 4of5. It definitely performed amazingly well until the end styling products. I feel like the mist and the balm could be combined to one protectant serum and that would take it to the next level.

I can’t lie, I was really blown away by this line. Although I really wanted to give a good review on how well this straightened and retained my hair, I can’t really say. I applied this I let my hair mostly sure dry in twists, then I proceeded to blow my hair out.

I then straightened my hair. No other products were required to straighten my hair and it came out very silly and beautiful, by it didn’t last😩. By the next day, the exterior layer of my hair had already swollen up.

While this product DOES protect from heat damage (I tested some strands that remained straight, and they retained their curl after rehydrating), it does NOT help to retain the style or defy any humidity.

I do not think this system, overall, does very well retaining heat styles or defending against humidity. I didn’t get past more than a day before my hair swelled up from humidity. BUT, ill also point out that I experienced swelling on the outer layer of my hair, but underneath it was still straight, which was a new occurrence for me, and I was impressed.

That meant I had less hassle to put up with to re-style it, which I did using perm rollers. All in all, I would t recommend this product individually.

I’m not exactly sure how heat and hair primers work, but it was decent. I sprayed it on my wet hair and before I blow dried it and it also added some shine to my hair. At first I was really skeptical because the humidity and my hair do NOT mix.

My hair will literally frizz up like it’s nobody’s business. However, with the shampoo and conditioner my hair stayed in its place! I don’t usually like to wear my hair down and out because of the humidity and frizz factors but I would definitely use this system to maintain my hair.

Now it did not really keep my hair straight, but then again I don’t have professional tools. But I do recommend for those with frizzy and/or curly hair. My hair definitely felt softer after using these products as well.

This wasn’t TOO greasy or too heavy on my hair, I would definitely use and recommend this as a whole. For my hair, (I also live in SoFlo, like humidity central) it personally lasted about a week or so.

I don’t know if this is supposed to help from damaging your hair but my hair didn’t particularly feel overly dried out after having blow dried it. 🤷🏽‍♀️.

I love love love love love this smoothing spray. The packaging is very sleek and compact enough that it doesn’t take up a lot of space. The product lasts for quite a long time. It smells amazing and makes my hair smell fantastic and the smell lasts the entire day rather than the other sprays that I’ve used in the past where the smell disappears after a few hours.

The spray helps to protect my hair when I use my straightener or curling iron and really helps with adding shine that isn’t greasy. It also makes it feel SO soft!.

This is an absolute MUST for straightening hair! I bought a travel size to try and ended up buying the full size after, which normally never happens for me. Not only does it have an amazing smell (great when your hair ends up smelling burnt, which we allll know is typical when straightening your hair lol) but it makes my hair so soft and luxurious.

I usually will spray it starting at the ends on each section I’m straightening to make sure I get it all. Make sure you don’t overdo it or put it on your roots though because it can make your hair look greasy.

If that happens usually I can just use some dry shampoo in that area and it looks fine. Definitely definitely order this if you’re on the fence about it!.

For years, I used TIGI S Factor Flat Iron Shine Spray and loved it. My hairdresser however turned me on to Firewall by AG and I completely love this product and what it does for my hair. I have naturally curly, color-treated hair that I wear straight, and live in humid Houston.

This product works miracles on my hair. I saw where another reviewer said it was too ‘greasy’. it is if you use too much. Spray sparingly! She also said would not be good if you didn’t wash your hair at least every other day and that baffles me.

I wash mine just twice a week and have no problems/issues with the product. I won’t use any other flatiron spay (even in a pinch!) than this one and would definitely recommend!.

Some of the ingredients seem really beneficial. But the bottle I received has a spray nozzle that sprays the product in a solid, and rather strong, STREAM. At first I thought maybe the nozzle was clogged, so I rinsed it with warm water and cleaned it gently with a soft cloth.

Nope! This thing still sprays the product in a stream. NOT what the customer wants from a product that is supposed to be applied lightly throughout the hair as a HEAT PROTECTANT prior to heat styling.

Sections of my hear ended up absolutely soaked with just a single spray while most of my hair got NOTHING. Even from several inches away, this product still hits my hair in a solid stream. I got the product as a gift with purchase as part of a special.

I won’t say I got it for ‘free’, because I didn’t. The styling tools I bought seem to work well enough. But the gifts with purchase shouldn’t end up being ‘throw away’ items. I won’t be able to use this product unless I happen to find another spray nozzle that happens to fit this little bottle.

So…. To the people at l’ange…. I’m hoping this was just a fluke and you don’t sell all of this item with this type of spray nozzle. If you do, it’s a waste of your customers’ money. There’s no way they’re getting this product into their hair the way they need to if their bottles are spraying the product into their hair the way my bottle does to me.

If this *is* how you’re selling this product, the people who design your packaging are thieves, idiots, or both.

After watching tons of tutorials and reading reviews, I decided to take the plunge and chance it on something new. I purchased 2 products and a styling tool, all of which I tried this morning. I applied the Thermal Magique to towel dried hair and it immediately felt like I would never get a comb through it.

I then added a very small amount of Thick it Cream, which made the texture of my hair even worse. Surprisingly, once I worked through the tangles (which I never have with my regular products), the Le Volume 75mm worked well for drying my hair, but did not give results like expected.

More volume, yes (likely due to the products). Shiny, touchable, soft hair, not so much. I finished up getting ready for my day and after about 30 minutes, I had to run my flat iron over my hair as it had gone fluffy and frizzy.

Perhaps these products are not the right ones for my hair, which is thin and fine and frizzes very easily. Tomorrow I will try just the Thermal Magique in the hopes that it will work better just on its own.

The result I am looking for is soft, shiny, sleek straight hair, so any suggestions would be appreciated!.

I’m sorry to be so blunt but I feel that I need to write a review and I really don’t like that I have to write this. I being a new customer to Lange I was so excited to get my new products and try them out.

I had bought a few things because there was a huge sale. I seen a post of FB about the thermal Magique and I was like well I rarely ever use anything on my hair to protect it from the heat. Well, I was about three days in from not washing my hair and I figured I would curl it on a Friday night.

I used this product in which it did work well then I brushed it out as you should and my hair started falling out in chunks. Soooo, I washed it. When I washed it tons and tons of my hair was falling out.

I am so devastated, my hair is so healthy and this product literally melted my hair off. I would not recommend this to anyone. I am to blame as well because I didn’t not read the ingredients. The first ingredient is alcohol!!!! Be careful what you use always read the ingredients!! Needless to say I had my hair cut due to all the breakage and I will no longer he using Lange as my go to for anything.

Most of their products are drying to my hair.

It is a heat protector used by my hairdresser. The price in this store is great. The product is easy to use, although you have to shake it before each use, it smells really, really good. It doesn’t thicken or gum up the hair.

You also don’t notice that you have product in your hair. I now only use this and the Kerastase heat protector. I recommend it.
