20 Best Heartbeat Toy For Puppy (2023 Updated)

What a wonderful cozy, soft and cuddly fun big dog came into my house one day for my 9 pound Havapoo Pepper. It really didn’t look like anything special online, even in the box as I was opening it up.

But WOW, when you take Buddy (that’s what I named him) out of the box, that first feel of him is magic. All you want to do is hug him and never let go. The you see there is a heart you can insert into Buddy and he starts being human.

The heart starts beating and he becomes real. And then, you can make him warm with a small packet and he comes to life. You hold him for a while and you suddenly forget all your problems and guess what? You fall asleep, and Pepper never gets to play with Buddy.

So, Buddy is a wonderful addition to Pepper’s toy box, if it ever gets into the toy box. But seriously, Snuggle Puppy is definitely a wonderful behavioral aid toy. I found that my hyperactive dog Pepper loved Snuggle Puppy from the minute he came into the house, well from the minute I let Pepper have him.

I saw a change in Pepper’s behavior soon after. Snuggle Puppy began to calm her down, especially at night. When you look at the price you might think it is a bit expensive but believe me it is worth every penny.

It is a great purchase.

We bought one of these just before we drove for several hours to pick up a two month old White German Shepherd Dog. She slept with it all the way home, and every night since, plus often during the day.

She is now a few days short of her 6 month birthday and this snuggle puppy is with her every night, most evenings and a lot of days. She began sleeping through the night earlier than she should have and we are convinced this snuggle puppy is the reason.

She can go through a bully stick in less than an hour or so regardless of how thick it is and this snuggle puppy looks almost brand new!!! When the batteries for the little heart start to get weak, she will bring it to us to perform a little “heart surgery”!! We leave it set on a continuous heart beat and the batteries last a couple of weeks.

Be forewarned that if it is really quiet, hearing that little heart beat is a little unnerving at first!!! LOL. This is absolutely the most wonderful gift you could give a young puppy!.

I actually bought two Snuggle Puppies – one for upstairs, and one for downstairs, before I brought home my 3 month old Yorkshire Terrier. The honest truth is that I’m not sure the heat or the beating heart made all that much difference.

It didn’t bother her, but I learned that this toy was a super favorite whether it was turned on or not. I think it has something to do with the size and comfortable plushness of the toy. The first picture I have of Charlotte was of her piled on top of one of her two litter mates.

She does the same thing with SP. She is now 7 1/2 months old and still hauls SP around with her. the other night I felt her get on top of me in the middle of the night. I groaned, but thought ok. Then there was a PLOP!, and I realized she hauled Snuggle Puppy up there with her.

I grabbed SP and put him beside me, then PLOP! he was back on top. It took about 8 tries for me to convince Charlotte she was welcome, but SP could sleep beside us. I would absolutely recommend the Snuggle Puppy to anyone coming home with a new puppy.

I purchased this item instead of a similar, more expensive one on Amazon. I had it the day we picked up our 10 week old lab puppy. We followed others’ advice and rubbed the toy on mama dog and siblings.

My puppy has slept through every night! It has been 5 weeks and the toy is holding up well. We take it away if she tries to chew and tear it during the day, but she has it in her kennel all night and during daytime naps.

The heartbeat is noticeable if there’s no other noise in the room, but not disturbing. We’ve never used the heat pack. Our puppy chewed the stitching off the Velcro flap that covers the battery space but the flap is still intact and she has so far not been able to get the inner compartment open.

She has also not ripped it apart like she has other stuffed toys. It has held up remarkably well and has been washed (air dried) several times. I highly recommend and saved even more by using a BB&B coupon on the purchase!.

I bought this for my new rescue dog as she is very timid. When we first had gotten her, we took her to the vet and had xrays taken of her stomach as she had hard green plastic in her pooh. The xrays also showed she had two very pointy screws in her stomach, so then I realized she likes to chew.

The first night with the Huggie Pup was great; however, I noticed in the morning she had opened the back Velcro strip where the heart-beat box was located. The second night, I heard the Velcro being opened again, and knowing she’s a chewer, I got up and removed the heart-box.

I got up the next morning and looked at the Huggie Pup, the pocket was wide open and pulled out. If I had not take the heart-box out the night before she would have chewed the box to pieces (which has 3-screws) and eaten the batteries! If your pup/dog is a chewer; I would NOT recommend this Huggie Pup!.

My German Shepherd does NOT like plush toys, but her HuggiePup, whom we named Eddy, is an exception. She’s had Eddy a week and he’s been a great friend. Hannah loves snuggling up with him at night and uses him as a pillow.

During our recent rounds of thunderstorms, Eddy provided comfort while Hannah hid in the bathtub. Instead of shaking like she usually does, she curled up with Eddy and took a nap. The HuggiePup is SO SOFT! I can’t get over how soft it is.

The heartbeat is a gentle one, but enough to be heard and felt. This toy could even work for a baby if you’re so inclined. I highly recommend this toy!.

I prefer lightweight clumping litter because easier to carry and dispose of with four cats. After using tidy cat lightweight clumping for years, I decided to try fresh step as a more cost effective alternative.

I guess you get what you pay for. Unlike tidy cat, this litter does not cause tight dry clumps. Plus you can smell the cat waste even after removing the waste, so it has to be fully changed much more frequently than the tidy cat.

Sticks to the litter box more as well. I will spend the extra money for tidy cat as in the long run it is more cost effective since the whole litter box doesn’t need to be changed out as frequently. I have four litter boxes, so definitely wasn’t a cost saver in the end.

I got this to help my 14-week kitten adjust to a new home. I expected her to cuddle next to it and was quite impressed with how warm it got–however, I’ll say that the heartbeat is a bit too strong. ? It is way too loud and you can definitely hear it beating in a room.

I also think that the heartbeat mimics a human’s instead of a cat’s. A cat’s heartbeat should be twice as a fast as a human. Instead, you hear the thump thump thump of a creepy teddy bear with oddly human characteristics.

Anyway, instead of having a new snuggle buddy, my kitten has decided that she would much rather attempt to decapitate this poor sleep aid. I mean, she does lay on it after murdering it for the 50th time.

? But I’ll say that she much prefers to torture this toy versus sleep next to it. I’ll even go as far to say that she prefers to sleep in beds that do not contain the toy. If I try to put it next to her, she goes into full psycho kitty mode and tries to assassinate it.

I’ve decided to leave the heartbeat off because it’s way too loud! And I think that it was irritating my sweet demon. Also, I knocked some stars off because this thing was way too expensive. It’s a teddy bear with a battery insert! It should be $29.

My Daughter and I both got 8week old Sheltie pups after the loss of Sisters at 12 yrs and 12 yrs 4 mths. Given I had my name down with very breeder in Victoria, southern NSW. I had already purchased a Snuggle puppy pack- the original not a knock off ( so $89) and got a heartbeat lamb for each of the girls in the puppy packs we ordered.

Given I had both pups to start with we’re with me, one 4 days earlier than the other this lamb was great for the first night, and given the pups difference in size, sleeping was separated so each have slept with their own lamb each night for the last 4 weeks and play with one lamb between them during the day.

And Lambie gets a real beating, is strong and well made, has the Velcro not a zip, and the heart had the batteries in it. The heat went by the way side after only a few days, they both just preferred the lamb… both had 5 other litter mates, with the younger of the 2 having been with 2 litters.

So both use to lots of heartbeats. They do look cute carting out lambie together with each taking one end, to play with her in the lounge-room, or the older of the 2 being on camera, pulling the lamb into her carry bag, so she could use her as a pillow.

Well worth getting, more so if it was included in the puppy bundle. But I still didn’t return the snuggle puppy kit, mainly as it came with a blanket, plus they still play with the pup on occasion- but not as often as the lamb.

Sorry but I shouldn’t have purchased for my 5 year old mini fox terrier because as soon as I said, Where’s Occy?? she destroyed the fabric seam and extracted the squeaky part. Choking hazard for little kids maybe.

I bought it because I availed myself of a promotional purchase at the time but now feel that I probably shouldn’t have bothered. I do however, love the speed and efficiency with which both products were delivered.

From the moment Belle’s jive ball got here it’s been her go-to ball. Belle, who is a registered wrecking ball, destroys or eviscerates every toy (if you consider my Furnature a toy) we’ve introduced to her.

Not the jive. Our trainer, Marty Strausbaugh of Pawsitive Training, suggested your company and specifically the jive ball. And boy I’m glad he did. I confess I use it in the house when the weather is inclement.

I bowl in across the living room thru the dining area into the kitchen over and over and over again. I wish I had a video to show but I can’t bowl and photo at the same time. I’m including a picture of Belle, the Vizsla wrecking ball, just so you know what she looks like.

Our other dog, Rhett Butler, is content with tennis balls for dogs, but Belle takes the toupees off of them and eats the rubber. God bless you and your company for serving the needs of wrecking ball dogs and their wrecked parents.

West Paws is game changer for our aggressive lab chewer. It’s been weeks and she cannot chew thru these products. Only 4 stars bc this is not holding her interest, but Hurley bone is! At nearly 3 yrs and 55lbs she wayyyy prefers Zogoflex Hurley over this and Rumpus.

Best guess is size, shape and fit to her mouth. Also bc she can play tuggy with her sister and Hurley bone. Other products of which I’ve tried everything, have failed miserably and immediately. Either she can chew thru or they’re too heavy in weight or not slightly plyable.

West Paws checks all those boxes. I hope she finds some interest in this and Rumpus bc Hurley is the clear winner here! Pic is of Hurley.

When I have a task I need to complete, but can’t because my enthusiastic dog likes to “help,” I try to occupy Cowboy with one of those hide-a-treat chew toys. Unfortunately, Cowboy usually accesses the hidden treats by tearing apart the dense rubber.

He’s destroyed three rubber bones in the past few months, all of which were designed for serious chewers. The Kong Goodie Ribbon toy was my last hope and it did not disappoint. I can shove dog biscuits or peanut butter into the openings and Cowboy will forget all about being my assistant for twenty or thirty minutes while he tries to free the goodies.

When I check on him, he looks up at me and wags his tail, then returns his focus to the toy. The Goodie Ribbon doesn’t show so much as a tooth print even after six wrestling matches with Cowboy! That’s far better than the previous toys fared.

Kong makes fantastic products!.

My Momo pup passed in April and he was a power chewer but he never made it through a black Kong of any variety. Our new 46-lb monster was able to damage this toy and I’m absolutely amazed and confounded.

I bought this one because she tore up the large red ribbon chew we’ve had for years (the one that lasted through Momo!) and was sure the XL black ribbon would be her match but I had to take it away because she was managing to bite off little bits.

I have no idea what to get this girl and will be putting this on the questionnaire for the trainer we’ll be meeting with (this is a rescue pup who came to us with a great number of issues) because I Thought we had bite inhibition trained but clearly it is not.

She used to be so very gentle with plush toys, playing with them for hours with no damage. Back to the drawing board! Petstages Orka Tire Tough Dog Chew Toy has lasted thus far but it’s difficult to fill with anything other than solid treats because the opening is tight.

Attempting to put peanut butter, yogurt, apple sauce, etc. in it is messy.

Kong Extreme products are the only toys that survive our 50-pound Portuguese Water Dog puppy. We tuck small biscuits inside each slot and it keeps our dogs entertained when we must go out. But, choose the size appropriately for your specific dog.

We also own the largest size of this bone — it’s heavy for the puppy to carry easily, but he hasn’t destroyed it. This smaller size is more appropriate looking for him, but he was able to tear off chunks of rubber in the first five minutes.

Just beware and know your dog. We’ll revert to giving this avid chewer the largest version of this toy, and give this slightly smaller one to some of the less aggressive chewers in the house. As always, Chewy was fabulous with quick, accurate service!.

I have an Australian/German shepard mix. I know they are smart dogs, but I struggled to find something that would mentally stimulate her more than a few seconds at a time. I seriously doubted these hide and seek toys, I mean they’re EVERYWHERE but I didn’t think my puppy would play with them much, if not at all.

Man was I wrong! She LOVES this thing. I find little hedgehogs around and put them back in when I find them. If I put the toy in her crate at night I hear small squeaks from the toy (I don’t mind this in the slightest, it keeps her entertained if she’s awake) Especially for this price? Seriously a steal.

It’s so cheap I’d recommend it even if you’re unsure whether your dog will like it or not. It’s very stimulating for her.

My dogs were so excited to get this toy and it’s become a favorite. I previously ordered it and my heavy chewing dogs did a real job in the chipmunks, but that was expected. They had a lot of fun with it.

This time they are less destructive and enjoy throwing the chipmunks and making them squeak. I think they are making the holes smaller to make it more challenging to get the chipmunks out which is great.

I think Chewy sells replacement chipmunks for when my dogs just can’t help tearing them up. Chewy again delivered a wonderful product in a very timely manner!.

We bought the “Chicken Bucket” at a local pet store, ours only came with 2 drumsticks (3 would be better for sure!). but regardless, it’s the favorite toy of our 10 lb Coton de Tulear and our 35 lb hound dog mutt.

They love to extract the chicken, the only “issue” perhaps is that it stretched out and got softer (both the bucket and the legs) so it’s no longer a challenge for them. No matter, they play with it daily.

if one has it, the other wants it, they “tug” over it and carry the drumsticks around in their mouths. Most of the ‘stuffed toys’ only last a week or two in our house, so this one is clearly a little more durable.

They made a hole in the side of the bucket and no stuffing came out (must not be stuffed/lined with stuffing). We just bought another ZippyPaws burrow toy this weekend (chipmunks in a log) and they are loving that too – it’s more challenging right now – when they are fighting over it, I just throw the Chicken Bucket near them and one will go for it instead.

Cute stuffie and the sound machine is a nice size with multiple sound options but it is difficult to turn on and off when it is inside the doll. The Velcro closure is loud. I keep the sound machine outside the stuffie because its hard to control inside the doll which defeats the purpose.

The sound machine also goes through batteries very fast. New batteries lasted less than 1 week in the machine.

This puppy is so soft and the sound choices are excellent quality ( heart beat, white noise, nature and a lovely lullaby). I’m really impressed with the creativeness of this product.

My son loves his little lamb. The heartbeat setting gets him settled so he knows its bedtime and even turns on when he crys. So glad i got 2

It’s adorable, but if you have a dog who like to chew, forget it. My one year golden destroyed it in less than a five minutes. All the stuffing ripped out. Now he plays with it emptied of the stuffing.

My rating is only because I thought it was a chew toy – the quality is beautiful, just not sturdy for chewing. I may not have read enough on the product and simply purchased without understanding its purpose.

Our 80# Rough Collie and our 8# Yorkshire Terrier both love this ball….had to sew up the first one a time or 2. Finally just bought a new one. Seems to be surviving…

I just have to say that I ALWAYS have a great experience when dealing with Mickey’s Pet Supplies. They carry great made in the USA toys and treats. The ease of ordering and the follow through is great! And they sent my dog a Birthday card and little treat along with a Thank you card for me.

I will only order from Mickeys, their the greatest! Oh and the Beachball is made of excellent materials!.

This did not stand up as advertised by the manufacturers. So very disappointing! Got it home and my pup literally had it for 30 minutes and it was loosing threads and the ball became seperated from the rope.

Poorly made and at a high price. Was not allowed to return even though I brought it immediately back for a refund and it was obviously a manufacturers issue. Complete waste of money.

Bought extras, just to have them around for backups because my puppies love them so much! They’re also great for keeping an excited pup from accidentally overshooting and nibbling a hand during tug o’ war! The “rope” does come apart somewhat, but because the inside is solid, it still works for a toy.

I have a super chewer, so most toys do not make it with him. The stick part was easily ripped off quickly for him. I sewed up the hole, and he has continued to play with the candy part of the toy for quite a while now.

So “somewhat” durable.

This toy was delivered today and I have already thrown it out. It is awful, terrible, and I will never, ever be stupidly suckered into buying something recommended by Wirecutter again. (That’s why this toy is sold out.

Many people are obviously as stupid as I was. ) The toy kept falling apart when my dog rolled it (she got the point of it immediately), the plastic is cheap and junky, the top part is in two pieces that fall apart repeatedly, and even though the price has been reduced, it’s still overpriced for what it is.

I am so sorry I bought it. I have a much better treat-dispensing toy made of thick, quality rubber that I bought several years ago, and if i could read the name on it, I would recommend it in a hearbeat, if they still make it.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS.

This treat ball is great!! My dog will push it around for a long time. He looks so cute hitting the ball with his paw. And he’s always really happy when a treat comes out. We have a large one at home and a small one at work to keep him busy while we’re working.

It’s really durable too. He’ll bat it across the hardwood floor and inevitably it’ll bounce down the stairs and is still totally fine. You can adjust the inside divider to make the opening smaller making it harder to get the treats out.

Highly recommend.

This was a random add-on to push an order into the “free shipping” range. When we got it, I didn’t think it would last. We’ve used it once or twice a day for six weeks now! Our mini-Aussie loves, loves, loves this ball.

It has a slider piece inside, so you can adjust the difficulty/size of treat. At first we left it open wide, but she got so good at it, we keep it at the smallest setting. Initially I didn’t close it tightly enough, and she figured out if she bounced it around enough – still didn’t break! – that she could eventually open up the whole thing, so I am a bit more careful now.

When she was teething, and kibble was painful, I cut up small cubes of cheddar, dusted them very lightly with cornstarch so they wouldn’t stick together, and she was in heaven. Well, well worth it. I will immediately replace it when it meets its inevitable demise.

We picked up a 3-pack for our 50lb Border Collie / Golden Retriever mix. she’s a chewer and a chaser. She LOVES the toys. They squeak, they tumble, they fit great in her mouth. She’s always walking around with one hanging out of her silly mouth.

We’ve had them for over a month at this point and they’re showing no signs of serious wear/tear.

They are super silly but my American Akita loves them. Granted the toys did not last it took three days for her to completely destuff two but they are still lots of fun. For the price it’s good for those dogs who just like to destroy things.

These are so cute and they’ve become our 6lb puppy’s favorites! They have a little squeaker in the middle and the design makes them good for playing tug of war. My guess is a bigger dog could destroy them quickly but I’m happy with them!.

My medium sized dog is a ferocious chewer and queen of stuffed animal destruction. She tears through other “tough chew” stuffed animals in minutes. This bear has lasted a year! Squeaker still intact and loud.

It’s her favorite toy. My neighbors are not happy because when Sparkle is dissatisfied with her dining service (when I don’t feed her ‘on time’) she will go outside and squeak that bear for a long time.

Doggy temper tantrum. Great toy. No need to get another one, yet.

I was disappointed with this “Crinkle” toy. The only crinkle is in the bottom of the belly. I’ll keep it because Nellie enjoys unstuffed toys with squeakers, but I was expecting the whole thing to crinkle.

My 8 month whoodle (wheaten terrier and poodle) has loved this toy for maybe 4 months. It’s pretty durable (both the fabric and the squeaker). I hope if I buy another he won’t destroy it faster since he’s older now.

He just tore off the nose, which has stuffing – but it’s been a regularly used toy for months, including retrieving and tug of war play. He wrestles around with it and really loves to make it squeak.

I’ve had this for maybe a year or two now and while it gets a few things right, it gets far too much wrong to make this worth purchasing. For starters, there’s no way to open the two spheres so cleaning it out is a nightmare.

This is my biggest issue – if I could unscrew the two halves, it’d be easy to fill with food for means and relegate the top dispenser for treats/play. But ya can’t. So either you fill the top with tiny amounts of food, over the course of a long time, for every single meal.

Or you give up and buy literally anything else. The treat dispenser levers are fine, if a bit if finicky. They’ll move when hit hard enough but I’m not sure how you’d fix that without making it impossible to move.

The noise/heft of the thing seems unfair to criticize – it’s a giant hard plastic ball thing. Either they make it softer and it breaks immediately or you just don’t buy it if you have beautiful hard wood floors, which should be super obvious before buying.

Also – the point is for the dog to smack around. It’s insanely loud – but again, that’s the toy. But again- the concept is fine. The nuances are fine. Everything about this is great except for just getting food into the toy, which is it’s main purpose.

That and cleaning it out. They have a video on their website that is admirable but is also clearly demonstrating on a toy that is not covered and containing the insanity that is dog stuff. So if you’re cleaning a toy that is unused, it’s a snap.

If it’s full of disgusting dog slobber and half eaten kibble, not so much. Until they allow for you to open the main part of the toy, i cannot recommend it in any capacity. Which is a shame because it’s otherwise thoughtfully built.

My dogs are familiar with treat dispensing toys, but this one falls short by many factors. We got the large size, hoping it would be sturdy enough to withhold the energy of a growing large puppy. I am quite happy with the size of it, and it is quite heavy.

However, the area where you can put kibbles in (i. e. , the yellow top) is too small to put any significant amount of kibbles. There are two adjustable openings. One inside the yellow top, that controls how fast the kibbles fall into the body of the toy.

The problem is that once the kibble falls through the first opening, it goes down to the base almost immediately, providing almost no challenge at all. The second opening is on the side of the purple base.

Although this opening is also adjustable, the dog can easily get change the size of the opening with their paws/teeth, which makes the size of the opening irrelevant. Also, the size of the second opening can potentially risk catching a dog’s tooth or nail, resulting in injury.

Unlike other treat dispensing puzzles where the dog can easily flip the toy to free themselves, the significantly heavier base of this toy can prevent them from freeing themselves. In addition, the way the toy is build makes it almost impossible to clean the inside of the toy.

Although I can run warm water and soap through the two openings, it is not possible to dissemble the toy to make sure it gets cleaned.

I have 2 large Bob-a-Lots. My dogs love this treat dispenser, but I hate filling it because the opening is small so it’s not easy or quick to fill. If the opening to fill it were larger, the food wouldn’t get stuck as I fill it and I would use it much more often.

Also the slider to control how fast the treats dispense broke off both the toys I have. This also makes filling it harder because I can’t close it to keep the treats from coming out as I fill. The dispenser hole is on the side on one of the toys so I have to angle it weird as I fill it so the treats don’t just come right out.

In the attached photos I’m pointing to each dispenser hole. My dog chewed off the lid of one of the toys but that doesn’t affect the toy at all.

He’s very cute! However, my shih tzu cannot squeak it at all. It’s extremely hard to find & squeeze the squeaker on it.

It’s my dog Bacci’s favorite toy! Usually he beats everything up and surgically removes squeakers in minutes. This lobster seems to be surviving and has made it through several rounds of fetch. Still going strong!.

My German Shepherd kept this sacred for a long time, but eventually he ripped all the stuffing out. He loves it still.

There are three toys in this pack, which I will review separately: (1) A pretzel. The unfortunate thing about this toy is that there are bits of “salt” sewn onto it that my dog immediately identified as weak points.

Within minutes, the pretzel was ripped. (2) Three pieces of sushi attached by a rope. Although the rope was destroyed within minutes, each individual sushi has held up well. (3) A taco. My dog LOVES this one and plays with it all the time.

She loves pulling apart the separate pieces, which are attached by Velcro. So, in sum, I probably would just buy the taco individually rather than the three-pack. The pretzel and the rope holding the pieces of sushi together are disappointing.

The tree with ornaments that squeak is the BEST. Well made, crinkling sound and just plain fun! Wish we had started playing with it in November. Our two dogs along with two humans greatly enjoyed the quality, vivid.

Colors and interactive play. We have put it away until next year. We never played with it more than 10 minutes at a time. Stayed in great shape ready for holiday fun in 2023!.

I got this toy for my dog because it said it has a giggle stick. He’s never had a toy with that feature before so I thought it’d be nice surprise. As many others have noted, this toy does not have a giggle stick.

It’s a squeaker. Maybe the company doesn’t know what a giggle stick is? It’s still a nice toy and he loves it anyway, which is what matters. But if you’re thinking of getting it for the noise feature, skip it and get something else.
