20 Best Hearing Protection With Bluetooth (2023 Updated)

I bought this for my son a month ago. It fits well and connects for bluetooth well. Two stars. Bluetooth has a humming in the background that is annoying, trying to listen to online video content and my phone and bluetooth speaker do not give that sound.

The worst part of this headset is the radio. It gets great reception and programming it is wonderful. It is the most annoying thing and I will not buy one for myself because I can’t turn off the frustrating woman telling me what station I am listening to.

You have 3 seconds to pick the station before she starts talking about what station it is. Like trying to play guess this song in 5 notes or less. Get rid of her and the bluetooth buzz, and I might buy my next set from you.

Whomever tested this headset needs to not be allowed to test anymore. Please find them a job that they are capable at.

Very happy with my purchase, the reception is great. I live in a area where the reception is poor, inside a building like my house, where reception is very weak, however with worktunes I can pick up all the stations available to me inside or outside.

Cell blue tooth works great I can work with noisy tools and equipment and still be able to talk with a person on my cell. comfort is good had the head phones on for a few hours and felt no discomfort.

I have used headphones in the but WorkTunes meets all my needs and performs very well. I have only 40% hearing in my left ear what I can hear is noisey like gravel crunching in my left ear. I have had difficulty understanding words in songs because the music tones and voice tones are similar and with the nosie condition makes songs unpleasent and confusing.

I have notice that while listening to songs with The WorkTunes on I can hear without noise and understand the words again, so hearing music is a pleasure again.

I was pleased to bring home my second 3M AM/FM headset that I use while mowing. I always had good reception and quality serviceability with my previous set. THey just finally wore out after many years of use.

A little bit of review and working with the new features and I was ready to mow. Good quality noise protection with comfortable ear seals. Easy programming for my preferred local radio stations. However.

the volume is too low. I know there is a liability limit, however the volume is so low that I couldn’t hear my music. I would have given these a 5 star rating, but I can’t hear the music.

Very comfy, great noise protection, robust design and nice to look at. Ticks all the boxes. Only one minor gripe which is a static noise with the Bluetooth. It doesn’t matter when you’re playing tunes and in the engine room but you can notice it if you’re out of a noisy environment.

Again only small but it could be defect with only my speakers. Would recommend for the price.

I really like the head set. blocks out engine and lawnmower sounds. I link up my I phone to listen to music and news. sound is very good. When I turn the headset on it automatically goes to bluetooth linking mode and connects to the phone without doing anything.

The ISOtunes are of high quality and provide both excellent hearing protection combined with very good Bluetooth function and nice sound quality. This is my third set of Bluetooth ear muffs, the previous two purchased from Bunnings.

These were firstly the Tactix ,followed by the 3M Worktunes. Both were OK, but the ISOtunes are a cut above both in quality and function for a small amount more. Dealing with Earjobs was user friendly and it makes good sense to purchase from a company who specialize in one area of safety.

In short, this is too poor in all the key areas I wanted it for. Sound Isolation I’m used to 3M Peltor ear defenders. These in no shape or form compare. The ear cup hole is too small, and the air gap is not enough to accommodate my ears.

The cushions don’t fit evenly against my head at any angle or fiddling, so sound invariably leaks through. Don’t buy these if you expect them to actually block out noise in a significant way. Sound Quality Very poor.

Devoid of bass, flat lifeless sound that distorts too easily. It just sounds ‘cheap’. Don’t buy these to actually listen to music. Period. Bluetooth Ultimately useless for me. I’ve paired it with various laptops, phones, PCs, and various devices (IVT vs Broadcom chip adapters), and whilst all connect no problem, the intermittent but invariable popping and crackling make it irritating for just any amount of time.

Phones seems to fair alot better, and do work well once all setup, but any laptop or PC is just horrible to use with these. Don’t buy these if you want to use Bluetooth with your PC! Functionality/connectivity Definitely a positive note here thougth.

All the setup and that jazz was painless and easy, and everything just worked where it should. Bluetooth just worked. However, I can’t mention that without again mentioningthe deal-breaker for me, and that being the bluetooth is useless with a PC due to popping.

I have a pair of Avantree Bluetooth headphones, and those work perfectly, ’nuff said.

Better than I expected. I didn’t say that. I feel this item is a great investment to less hearing loss. Some, I have read, complained of not enough volume. Maybe they have already damaged their hearing.

This head set(I own 3 sets) when blue tooth connected to your phone, will clearly inform you to incoming calls. once connected, one can continue to work. (in my case, farm,) while talking to the caller.

In most farming activities, the caller is unaware of the noise of the equipment as the microphone greatly reduces or cancel the noise. And the earmuffs reduces the noise by 25db. improving your ability to hear the caller.

Once the call is complete, the music you are connected to, continues. Bluetooth from smart phones, cable to MP3, etc.

These are great. These have been very helpful to be able to take calls and troubleshoot in loud Datacenter environment. Every once in a while Bluetooth does drop and I have to power down and power on the headphones but, it is a minor issue for the capability to be able to take calls in loud environments.

The plugs fit snugly in my ears and do a good job of blocking the noise of my chainsaw. They stay in place pretty well, even during alot of movement and hot sweaty work. A magnetic clasp on the back of each bud holds them connected when they are not in the ears.

After a recent storm that took down several large trees and limbs, I wore them comfortably for several hours and was able to listen to music while cleaning up the downed limbs without having to recharge the headphones or my phone.

Connecting to my phone was instantaneous. I had to look twice to find the charging port, but the cover flap does a good job of keeping debris out of the port when closed.

These are good work earbuds. I bought them to replace the Isotunes Pro’s I ran over with my truck. Are they good? Yes. Are they as good as the Pro’s. It’s close, either the speakers aren’t as loud or they don’t cancel out the sound as well as the Pro’s.

Also they don’t seem to stay in the ears super well. The magnets is what makes it close tie, when the earbuds touch they will prevent the earbuds from falling off your neck and will also pause whatever you’re listening to.

(The reason I lost my Pro’s) Next pair I get will be the Pro’s so I can hear the quieter podcasts. I think the Pro’s are a little better, but these will get the job done.

I bought these to use in place of the more heavier earmuff style hearing protection. They do seem to do the job. I do especially like the magnets to hold them when they are out of the ears and how using the magnets also interacts with Bluetooth.

The Rampage does certainly reduce noises considerably as I’m grinding metal to prep welding in class, but it’s too big to fit while wearing my welding helmet. If you’re doing work that doesn’t need fast twisting motions or a helmet, this headphone is for you, but if you’re like me and live under some kind of helmet, then the Ruckus/Dischord is for us for how lightweight and nimble it is, which I also have and also love it.

The rather minimalist design guarantees it won’t easily get caught on anything, and has an optional port for 3. 5mm aux chords, which comes included. The sound quality is nice, but I wish it had more bass, treble, and mid.

Or customizable sound settings. My Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 has four different sound settings from plain stereo to movie-theater quality mix, but that doesn’t have Bluetooth at all. If you’re looking for great sound quality, look somewhere else.

If you’re looking for good tunes while working with a long lasting headphone in terms of battery life and build quality, this is it.

WOW! Something that is true to its advertisements. Great sound, best battery life I have had so far in any Bluetooth device I own. I have not tried the Rukus Discord earbuds yet, but I’m confident they are of equal quality as the Rampage.

I would highly recommend these to anyone that works outdoors. I mow several yards in East Texas where the humidity can be atrocious at times and they have not failed me yet.

I really like the quality and fit of the headset. Unfortunately I’m struggling with the on-off button; every time I’m trying to turn off the headset I have to try several times as if there are a sweet spot to press in order to turn off.

I wander if someone else has reported something similar. Because of that, I have comeback to my Wortunes from 3M, even if they are a bit heavier.

I’m a Walker fan when it comes to protective headset, so purchasing this product was a no brainer for me when it came out. I have 4 other pairs of walker headset and this was my 5th purchase. The sound is excellent and can come close to high end headset such as Ops Score AMP (which I owned a pair).

The fitting is perfect on my ear and it’s felt comfortable with the gel cup. The headband doesn’t head up and keep your head relative cool in hot weather condition. Overall, it’s a brilliant product, however, there a few things that can be tweak.

The active dynamic sound suppression system work~ish. The reason for that is while it’s great reducing the sound when a loud decibel is detected, at the same time it’s make it impossible to have a conversation with someone if the active dynamic sound suppression system suppressor the sound during a conversation.

I can’t say it rugged enough around high producing decibel such as M777A2 155mm medium towed howitzer because one round from the howitzer made the left ear cup full of static and it remain that way. There are time where I turn the device on and it’s gone but for the most part the static is still there.

Today when I was using the Bluetooth, I noticed the button has retracted into the device. My guess is being around high producing decibel long enough and it will shake this headphone apart resulting in the recessed Bluetooth button.

Although the device doesn’t work anymore, I still wear it because it’s comfortable. I just wish it was more durable.

Excellent ear protection at the range! Slim design, Comfortable to wear all day with the gel pads, also has a cooling headband for hot weather. Worth the few extra dollars compared to the standard version.

You will enjoy your day at the gun range, with this on. Especially if you upgrading from ear plugs.

Found these muffs to be superior to my old Caldwell’s and Peltor’s, both had electronic noise reduction as well. These are as comfortable as any I have used, much nicer materials for the headband as well.

These are of a proper professional use quality.

They are nice headphone when they work. They are comfy. When functioning correctly they hold a charge for a long time. They sound nice enough and the ANC works well enough. But my first pair started to have issues with not charging after 4 months.

I tried resetting, changing the language to force software updates, changing the wire/charging block, etc. I contacted service and had to send in my pair in order to receive a replacement. The process took about 3 weeks and I got no notice when my replacement pair was shipped to me, they just randomly showed up on my door.

Fine. After about 3 months my second pair started to have the same charging issues but also had static noises and hissing coming from one side. I started the return process in January 2022 and I sent this pair in as well.

This time the return process took 5 weeks total and I had to contact Jabra after my headphones were sitting at the return warehouse for a week. In March I finally received my third, new in packaging, replacement pair.

These had the same charging issues out of the box! They would not charge above 60%. When I charged them with a 5v block the charging LED was solid green after a few seconds regardless of what the battery readout said when I turn them on.

When I charged them with higher rated blocks the LED light pulsed like it was charging but after being plugged in overnight they still wouldn’t charge over 60%Instead of exchanging my headphones AGAIN, Jabra refunded me for my full purchase.

I had these less than 1 year and I only had functioning 85h headphones for 8 out of the 11 months. Totally unacceptable for MSRP $250 and a company that wants to be taken seriously with the big guys in sound quality.

Buyer beware. TL/DR: You may save some money when the Jabra 85h go on sale from time to time, but that difference in cost when compared to other high end ANC headphones is not worth the hassle/reliability issues.

It has been an eventful 2+ years of owning these headphones and I must say all good things come to an end. These headphones have been my daily drivers every day. Battery life is godly!!! Charge this thing once a week with a 4hr daily commute.

Plus, super fast charging Call quality is superior to Bose and Sony and the price well worth it. The main reason why I got them. Has a bunch of bells a whistles (software related: conversation detection, knowing if it’s on your head) I could care less for.

But noise cancellation is pretty good muffling most 80% of a busy food court without music. With music playing at 20% volume ANC blocks out 98% noise. These are personal estimations. The bad things. Sound is great, not a picky audiophile, but reviews about bass issues are sadly true as it has good bass but some songs get messy to listen to at high volume.

Occasionally there are glitches with the headset regarding noise cancellation resulting in audio faults but they do occur. I’ve occasionally had to reset myheadset a year after purchasing because it malfunctions, disconnecting from my phone after periods of inactivity in the on position.

Lastly, and why I’m writing this review, the bands that have the company’s name on them broke. Actually, the plastic ends behind the bands seem to have began to degrade causing the bands to break and now I worry the headphones will slide out from the band and soon no longer work.

In short, build quality after two years of daily usage in Toronto Canada is my concern and has been my concern for other headphone brands as well. Eventually headphones fall apart. This headphone has been the best I’ve owned and the most expensive I’ve purchased ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

It has lasted me the longest from “reputable” brands like Sennheiser and Sony which have lasted a little more than a year between them. I do recommend purchasing these headphones for the following reasons: 1) CALL QUALITY!!! can’t say it enough.

2) The mute button!!! 1000% needed you don’t know you need it until someone is about to say something in appropriate while you’re on a call. 3) battery life 35h of glorious battery life that when dead you can still charge and use your headphones Bose can’t do that.

Other honorable mentions include: type c charging, swivel to wake, convenient physical button placement, water resistant material still try not to get them wet. Trust me ಠ_ಠ. and use the case when not in use you might get more than 2+ years from them.

I didn’t and I’m ranting to you about this mistake just do it. Side notes: if you have an average sized head I think you’ll be fine. Wouldn’t recommend any headphones for the gym, better to go with earbuds that clip to your ear in my opinion, but to each their own.

Where this product call quality preforms poorly is in areas where the wind whistles or where there’s a lot in your area like walking over bridges or around tall buildings, my experience. Currently considering buying a replacement pair, original purchased in late 2019, no headphone in this price point has matched it’s functionality in 2021.

Buy this headset if you want a fairly durable set of headphones, the best call quality in my opinion, and the best battery life I’ve seen in wireless headphones. Peace.

I bought these on the recommendation of another user. I have been a Jabra fan for a long time and although they don’t get mentioned in many of the ratings articles, I think this brand is a bit of a sleeper.

First test for me was the weight and fit. Many headphones do not adjust small enough to fit my head, which is such a nuisance. This model and one other brand’s model are the only two I could readily try on that fit.

Phone calls to date have been very clear, and music listening has also been wonderful. Functionally they work really well. Cosmetically I would appreciate a softer colour than black, a tad lighter weight, and a tad more adjustment for my head size.

They are cheap and low quality. I bought a pair of JBL tour earbuds immediately after and they are fantastic just what I was looking for, even though they are bigger and don’t fit so well in my ears.

Or spend a little more money and upgrade to Bose. Definitely don’t waste $100 on this.

I’ve been watching and waiting for earbuds like these for some time. I’ve had them for a couple of weeks now, in the office and gym, and I think they are really good. They are lightweight, fit very well, and sound good enough for use in a noisy environment.

Their charge lasts for hours, and the charging case is a nice feature. The noise cancelling isn’t bad – there’s a little high-pitched noise when there’s a lot of external noise, but it’s still way better than having the noise cancelling turned off.

The HearThrough feature works well too, giving you the ability to have a conversation without taking them out of your ears. But most importantly, for what you get, the price is great. My only complaint would be that pressing in the buttons on the flat sides to select various functions can be slightly uncomfortable as you’re basically pushing the device against your head.

i am now using theses headphones for almost 8 days, and they sound amazing. i like the sound signature and the customisation on the sound plus app is just amazing, IMPORTANT!! Pls note, these TWS r truly for music purpose and casual gaming with music.

ALSO it has tactile buttons, instead of touch, but with no customisation DIFFERENT MODES i like it’s transparency mode, which is a bang on feature, but ANC is just ok(not as the premium ones). CALL QUALITY Call quality is just amazing plus there is a customisation for that even in the app.

Work very well for shooting and quite comfortable, comes with plenty of interchangeable tips so you can get the fit just right, nice and secure, wont fall out hunting. No issues with bluetooth, sound quality is reasonable considering I purchased for hearing protection not to listening to music or make phone calls.

Sound amplification, Tactical sound control is great but it’s a bit fiddly to control with taps, takes a bit of practice, but overall the Tactical sound is an improvement on the ISOtune Sport, less effected by wind, but max amplification level is huge, I reckon I could hear dogs barking in the next suburb.

Overall very happy, used around the farm and at the range, looking forward to hunting.

Concept is perfect. But I found them to quick to isolate background noise. When compared to the isotunes sports wired version. The caliber seem to be always going in and out of noise canceling mode with just back ground trade work noise around like cars and trucks The wired sports model seem to have a larger tolerance for environmental noises before they cut in.

In a trade like work environment the sports out preform the caliber making it easier to hear people talking with trucks and machinery running in the background. Caliber seem to be heading in the right direction but if they could operate the same as the wired sport model they would be perfect.

Bought these for competitive shooting, they work great on the lowest sound setting, anything louder and it’s a bit much on the ears. Have also used for mowing and operating earth moving gear. Great all rounder in my opinion.

Music playback quality is also fantastic.

I haven’t always used hearing protection. In my younger years I attended loud concerts – which literally caused pain when close to the stage, used power equipment, attended stock car races, and engaged in conversations with loud participants – all without out the assistance of hearing protection.

As we age, we sometimes get wiser, and since I wanted to continue to enjoy the intricacies of music, I learned to use hearing protection. As such, I routine use foam plugs, earmuffs, and also have an earmuff type headset that incorporates music via auxiliary cords or FM radio – which allows me to protect my hearing as well as enjoy music while mowing the lawn or splitting wood with a powered wood splitter for hours on end.

Unfortunately, my headset with the antenna for radio reception is bulky and does not pair well with a winter knit cap when snow blowing. Therefore, when I saw the Bluetooth enabled Saf-T-Ear “bud-type” earphones I was excited to give them a try.

The earphones have two sets of controls that are incorporated into a lanyard connected to the earplugs such that when wearing the headphones there is one set of controls on either side of the lanyard loop.

One set of three buttons consists of volume up, volume down, and a multifunctional Bluetooth button which also controls on/off, phone answering functions as well as activation of SIRI/BIXBY/ALEXA platforms (which I did not test).

The volume buttons can also be used to skip to next or previous tracks of music. The other set of three buttons controls the Ambient noise and various levels of enhancement up to five times. For example, if the wearer needed to hear and participate in a normal conversation with the hearing protection in place, they could just turn the ambient noise control on and adjust the volume to a comfortable setting.

Operation • The earphones paired quickly and easily. • Turning on or off was accompanied by a verbal acknowledgement. • Ambient noise controls worked as advertised and did facilitate normal conversation while wearing the headset.

• Volume up button worked fine while listing to music, however the first time I tried to decrease the volume, that particular button seemed to be confused and mixed up with the multifunctional Bluetooth pairing button and did not decrease the volume.

Frustrated, I was going to contact technical support. However later after putting the earphones on again, I could not duplicate the problem. I tried several times, but the volume decrease operation went just fine.

Not sure what the initial problem might have been, but all seems ok now. • Just like with foam ear buds, it is recommended to squeeze and roll the foam prior to insertion into the ear canal. With these it is not easy, but also not impossible to do if you work really fast.

The better the insertion technique, the better the protection. • Using the protection with a snowblower required the volume of music to be turned up, but that is not unlike what I have to do with the older headset I have that fully covers the ears.

• Phone operation while wearing and listing to music worked as it should have. • Overall, the noise reduction seems to be as effective as my normal foam plugs. The most puzzling observation and somewhat disturbing was the packaging and promotional literature which clearly stated, “PROVIDES UP TO 40dB OF PROTECTION” on the front of the box, yet on the back side said, “NOISE REDUCTION RATING 25dB” (EPA label).

From my uncertified testing, the rating is equivalent to my foam ear plugs and other music enhanced headphones – both of which have a 25dB rating. The manufacturer should correct the 40dB misinformation.

Bottom line – I am looking forward to using these under my warm winter knit cap with my snow blower during our next snowstorm.

I really like this idea, the functionality of them is very simple and easy to use. You can take them out of the package and charge up the earbuds and use them for their primary function right away without pairing to any Bluetooth audio device.

The foam tips comes in three sizes, The default ones that were already on the buds in the box fit my ears and feel like disposable foam earplugs. When you compress them to put in your ear canal, they expand faster than regular foam earplugs, so you have to compress them and get them in quickly, benefit is you don’t have to hold them in place for very long while the foam expands.

The switch to turn on and off the ambient sound feature is a mechanical switch, and if left on, will drain out the battery. Turn on the ambient sound feature when you are wearing these and you will hear a finger snapping sound.

You will also hear some white noise generation, especially in a quiet environment. BUT the feature will cut out over loud noises protecting your hearing. Quieter constant noise like a generator hum or air movement fan, or similar will be picked up and amplified just noise and sounds, leading to an even higher level of “white noise”.

These things are great for hearing others in a noisy work environment. There are several levels of the ambient sound feature, I mostly use them on the quietest setting. These will be great to reduce the amount of startle reactions I have when wearing traditional earplugs, I’m able to hear people and things coming when they are out of line of sight.

The bluetooth function works fine and music sounds okay for being earbuds, I usually prefer headsets with cans for listening to music. Phone calls worked okay, if the band is on the back of your neck, you will sound very muted to the person on the other end, also the person will hear some background noise while you are actively speaking.

I recommend these for anyone who regularly wears foam earplugs, as I’m sure you will be able to find at least one thing they offer that will make life easier on you.

Working in a fabrication shop, I try to be conscientious of protecting my hearing. These Saf-T-Ear buds, with ambient monitor seemed like a great solution. I really like that the ambient amplifier can be turned on and off independent of the Bluetooth, since I don’t care to listen to music while working ( some places also view it as distracting and unsafe, depending on policies ).

However, every time you turn it on, there’s a sharp “pop” in the earbuds which is quite unpleasant. Also, the quality of the ambient amplification leaves a lot to be desired. It’s quite staticy, the minimum volume level is pretty loud, and there’s not much directionality to it.

The Bluetooth features fare a little better. Pairing the buds with a phone, tablet, computer, or other device is no problem. Audio quality of music is fair at best. This may not matter much to you since you may not expect pristine audio fidelity when using these in a heavy work environment.

Perhaps worst of all is overall fit and finish. These buds have a shorter cord connecting them than most other earbuds of this style that I’ve tried. It’s just long enough to reach around the back of my head.

On one hand, it’s nice that the cord doesn’t bunch up on my neck and collar, like other earbuds sometimes do, which can lead to the buds working their way loose. However, it also prevents you from using the collar clip, since the cable can’t reach to your ears when you turn your head.

And while the Saf-T-Ear comes with three different foam sizes, these aren’t the squishy foam like you’d see in regular ear plugs. With normal hearing protection ear plugs, you squish the foam down, insert them in your ears, then they slowly expand to give you a great seal.

The foam here expands far too fast to be able to do that, so you tend to just jam them in your ears. The noise reduction doesn’t seem to be as good as it could be. It’s enough for a basic metal shops, but I wouldn’t use it for shooting or around loud pneumatic tools.

And though the box claims it comes with a carrying case to store the earbuds and the extra foam tips, all you get is a flimsy plastic baggy. All in all, I was fairly disappointed in these. They’ll make do as a backup pair in case my older hearing protection buds fail, but otherwise I don’t plan on using them much.

Let me first say that this is a great product for it’s intentional use; at the range. I can hear everybody around me, and it blocks out all of the loud unwanted noises. However, I feel like this product is missing a key feature that another reviewer mentioned; the ability to turn off the Electronic Enhancement while only keeping the Bluetooth on.

I called customer support who confirmed this feature is not available. When I’m on an airplane and want to listen to music, I don’t want to hear other passengers or even the overhead announcement. When mowing the lawn, I don’t want to hear my mower running, but I have to have the Enhancement on in order to play music or podcasts.

When I’m working underneath the car, it’s great for blocking out the deafening noise of the Impact Wrench, but I also have to listen to every other noise that’ s amplified when I’m trying to listen to music.

Walker’s– I’d be happy to do some Field Testing if you ever implement this feature. I’d even send in my current pair of Muffs for a reflash to add this.

I am not a game hunter. My purpose in buying this particular headset was not to use in hunting. I have hearing loss. I wear hearing aids, but they are not sufficient. I wear the ‘in the ear” (ITE) hearing aids.

I had a hunch this headset, with its additional sound amplification, worn over my hearing aids, would supplement the amplification of my hearing aids. It did, with the headset in the “boost mode. ” The headset overcomes the echo when in large auditoriums.

Echo is a problem with hearing aids alone. Even with the volume control set at max on the headset, I could use approximately 3db of additional gain.

I have worn these for two seasons now and have been very happy with the comfort, especially after I added gel foam inserts. I wear plugs and muffs at the range and these are the best I have used in terms of having a volume high enough to hear conversations with the plugs in.

Very comfortable for several hours of use, and priced very well compared to other brands with less amplification. Sound fidelity is not a significant concern of mine so I can’t speak to the quality of sound reproduction, but if you are using them for the range situational awareness isn’t as important.

I would love to see walkers put out a 30nrr muff with similar amplification – it would be the last pair I would need to buy!.

I just tested them, and they do appear to be stereophonic. (If you softly rub your finger on the outer case of the right muff, sound is amplified primarily on the right, and the same action with left side produces the same results on the left) I also have the dual microphone Walker’s Slim Razor earmuffs and they perform similarly, and they do NOT have individual volume controls as I saw in description here on this site.

I highly recommend buying the gel ear pads, so much more comfortable! That being said, it is extremely difficult to discern from which direction noises are emanating with these earmuffs. Same as the other Walker’s electronic muffs with only dual microphones.

My Howard Leight Impact Sport electronics earmuffs do a much better job as far as directional noise locating abilities. But they are less comfortable and the on/off/volume knob feels a little bit sketchy and does not operate as smoothly ot conveniently as the Walker’s.

I’ve had these muffs for about 3 years now. I wear them anytime there’s a firearm in my hands and even if I’m working around loud power tools on home projects. I’ve taken several whitetail, countless waterfowl and tons of paper targets wearing them.

They do a good job of amplifying sounds until the shot and I’ve even heard whitetail sneaking up on me before seeing them because of these muffs. Being able to have a normal conversation at a whispering volume with someone seconds before the rapport of a 22-250 in the dead of the Canadian prairie winter without having to choose between hearing damage or spooking your quarry fumbling with hearing protection is absolutely invaluable for me.

I’m a musician so protecting my hearing is of utmost importance to me and now I don’t have to choose. Battery life for my use so far has been incredible. One set of good AAAs for the last 2+ years. A lot of people look at me funny for wearing muffs while hunting but I gave an extra set to a friend of mine last goose hunt and now he’s hooked as well.

They are surprisingly warm even in -20C (if you wear something UNDER the ear cups which I don’t, you’re not getting full protection) and the ONLY downsides to them so far are: – there’s not really anything to combat wind noise -you can’t hear your shot connecting with it’s target, or at least I can’t Long story short, they’re great quality and I’m very happy with them.

Wouldn’t go out without em now and hopefully will never have to. All of my guns except my 22LR have a ridiculously loud shot due to accessories, features or calibre and I’ve only ever bumped them slightly loose once (at the range) and I noticed it afterward.

Practice with them and it won’t be a problem.

This headset works great! I have had them for a couple weeks but due to weather couldn’t do a full test until today. The bluetooth part worked great, paired right away with my android phone. Plays the music on my phone well, suggest you only use this feature if you’re not shooting with others you will be talking to since you can’t hear anything except the music.

As for the sound quality (with music playing), it’s not great but not horrible. I was not expecting great quality, but they are good enough. The bluetooth feature is just a bonus. It does let you hear texts and phone calls that you may have missed during your shooting session.

Not sure if it was the headset or my phone but every time the song changed there was a gap where you could hear through the microphone system. not a huge issue for me. As for the sound deadening. they worked perfectly.

The quad mic system lets you hear everything you want or need to and nothing you don’t need to hear. The reason for the 4 instead of 5 star is due to the quad mic picks up the wind (relatively steady breeze) pretty loudly.

again not a huge issue. They are very comfortable to wear even for long periods and wearing shooting glasses or sunglasses didn’t interfere with the purpose of the hearing protection. They also didn’t (for me) get in the way of the stock of my shotgun.

As in the headline, I would definitely recommend these to all shooter.

This is simply not enough protection fir shooters or hunters. Maybe when used with secondary hearing protection this might protect your hearing but by themselves they are close to useless

This is the fourth Work Tunes headset I’ve purchased. My first one broke down after a few years. The wiring between the earpieces seemed to be the problem. I replaced them with a model about 5-years newer.

This model had a flimsy battery cover that fell off regularly and also eventually quit working. Before it failed, it often needed to have the batteries reseated to get it to work. It failed about a month ago.

It comes on and hisses like the background noise between stations, but can’t receive the stations, although their frequency is displayed. I bought a headset for my wife to use while I had the 2nd set and it’s configuration was somewhat different.

It still works, but she doesn’t use it much. I replaced the failed 2nd model with this one. It seems to be a little better design in a few areas, especially the battery compartment. The continuing issue we’ve experienced over the years is every new set has less sensitivity than the preceding model.

I loved being able to listen to the news on NPR, but can no longer do that, because the current radio isn’t sensitive enough to pick up any of the three stations I used to listen to all the time. The set that quit recently, could usually pick up one of the three, this one occasionally brings in one of them, but not well enough to listen for more than a couple of minutes or a turn of the head.

It hasn’t found one usable AM station. It finds 6-7 FM stations on its own, but only one of them is worth listening to, based on content. This model has one feature I’m not totally sure about yet. The digital frequency display has been replaced by an audio prompt.

Unfortunately, I’ve had several occasions where I couldn’t understand the prompt, due to the background noise still coming in past the muffs. I’m usually wearing safety glasses when I use this hearing protector and the arms prevent the muffs to seat completely against the side of my head.

So far, I’m carrying the instruction book with me while using the radio, because I can’t remember which button I need to get the station I want. I do like tuning with the knob better than with the buttons on previous models.

All in all, I think this version might be more durable than the last two, but I wished it worked as well as they did when they were new.

I bought these headphones approximately five months ago for doing general dad stuff: mowing the lawn, woodworking, running compressor tools. I was definitely very happy with the noise reduction and they were easy to tune to the stations I typically listen to.

Battery life was perfectly acceptable. Unfortunately, with no noticeable trauma to the headphones themselves the left speaker completely stopped working. I suppose I will continue to use them as they still work as earmuffs, but I know I’m a get one year of audio.

Second time I’ve bought the product. They lasted about 10 years with one change of ear pads which 3M furnished at no charge. They no longer do this, but sell them on Amazon- at least that’s what they told me when I was researching this purchase.

This set was about double what I paid for the first pair 10 years ago. As for Walmart, I’d much rather them stock things in the store than force me to buy things online. This purchase was shipped all over the country for several days to the wrong shipping warehouses before I finally got it.

Pros: Well made, good battery life, intuitive controls, comfortable enough for all day wear. The sound pass through awareness’s feature is a great idea, and has dedicated controls for very easy control, even with gloves.

Cons: Noise reduction is only slightly better than my JBL Reflect Mini’s, and that would be fine but the max volume is so low that you cannot be working with loud tools and listen to spoken audio ( the reason i bought them).

Good selection of ear buds, however they cannot be rolled and inserted like normal earplugs so they do not go as deep. As a result the volume of material between noise and ear canal is reduced and noise reduction is not as good as it could be.

The awareness mic is only mono (left ear) and so there is no directional awareness, definitely not ‘tactical’ as the box suggests. I will be returning to my Pelter muffs and JBL ear buds, just have to suffer the sweet in summer :(.

They worked reasonably well at blocking out noise. Not the most natural ambient sound, I struggled to have conversations at low volume but if turned up to high volume there was an annoying background buzz.

In addition as a stand alone device turning off every 2 hours was a bit annoying, fumbling around trying to find the on button again.

The earphones performed admirably, they supressed the muzzle blast of heavy caliber rifles easily and efficiently. Each shot could be heard but at a safe and comfortable intensity. The Bluetooth function also worked as promised and listening to misic on my iPhone was a pleasure.

Better than ear muffs when it comes to suppressing the sound. Easy to switch off when I need to communicate. Comfortable to wear for the whole shift, with an amazing battery that lasts long after 8 hours some days.

Only 2 cons. – while it’s great it can link to 2 devices at once, and it’s so easy to hot swap between them, it’s gives very annoying alarm when one of the devices goes out of range and is constantly beeping at me every 20 seconds or so.

The only time it was uncomfortable was when I was operating a large front end loader, as I am constantly turning my head as far around to check behind me, both left and right. Overall, a great headset.

Often I can sit even with nothing playing, and just enjoy the quiet. But when I want it, it’s great sound quality too. Also it is mask friendly which helps.

Hi, I ordered these for lawnmowing, chain-sawing, brush-cutting and all the other noisy machines I use daily. Previously using earbuds under earmuffs. Wow, these are so much better! love the neckband security (often dropped a bud when taking the earmuffs off) and magnetic pause control.

I did struggle to keep them in initially until I experimented with different size ear tips to find the best fit. Great product and highly recommend for anyone using noisy equipment. Also, must mention the amazingly prompt delivery, excellent service guys!.

I’m a builder in Australia, I have a small company called Hennies constructions. I have tried a lot of different head phones, beats etc. But for a building site or if you’re always losing headphones like me the xtra 2.

0 are the best I’ve used. Couldn’t lose them if I tried, the magnet around the neck just turns them into a necklace and you forget they are there. Every time you do something noisy there is no looking for headphones etc as they’re right there.

Cannot recommend enough 👌 A must have if you’re a tradesman. Fast efficient delivery.

These don’t fall out & get lost! Comfortable too. Sometimes I get a little itchy in my ear but easy to remove for a minute to stick my finger in there to relieve the itch. They work great for my high-frequency hearing loss.

I can hear the birds singing! I’ve had them for a few months now and glad I tried them. Figured I had nothing to lose with the trial period. These are the 3rd pair of devices I’ve tried, and definitely the best value to performance.

!st time I got a pair of behind the ear amplifiers for $1200 ($599 ea. ) Then I went the whole hog for over $5000 at the audiologist for programable bluetooth behind the ear pair but soon lost one that cost $500 deductible to replace, Then again lost another one taking off my hat.

!st time on a construction site, next time outside in the woods. Impossible to find and frankly all that hype about different custom programs wasn’t worth the exorbitant cost. Long story short, these work great and haven’t fallen out & gotten lost.

So I solved my problem at a reasonable cost and I hear everything just fine.

They arrived when I expected them. They were very easy to connect to my phone after downloading the app. I ran thru the hearing test, and completed the setup with no issues. They definitely make a difference in my hearing.

I’ve been able to modify the programs to customize them for my hearing. As long as you are comfortable using phone apps, you shouldn’t have any issues. Changing the domes is not as easy as they described, but after a little trial and error I was able to try the other petals provided to get the right fit.

Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I have had my new hearing aids for two weeks. The SoundWear app provides a hearing test and then sets up both hearing aids based on the profile generated. I like this capability. I am not sure I like the rechargeable feature.

With a full charge, I get 11-12 hours of use before needing to recharge. This requires that I pick and choose when to use the devices. I believe battery powered option is better. Other than that, I liker my new hearing aids.

Very, very angry! Was sent a set to “recycle” with a manufacturer’s flaw!!! The outside of the box says batteries not included yet there were two loose batteries in the bottom of the box! The flaw is in the battery chamber.

The bottom of the chamber illustrates the correct way the batteries should be inserted, to – however the batteries will only insert to and – to – making the earmuffs useless!!.

I just used this headset today mowing grass. The radio on my old headset crapped out so I decided to try this. Just tried it today the first time while mowing grass and it is much better than my old set.

The a. m. radio has very little directional fade out. The FM radio is fantastic. Of course the a. m. isn’t quite as good but I can hear it perfectly. The Bluetooth can receive calls through my phone but you cannot talk using the headset.

Today I received a text while mowing grass and it came through the headset perfectly.

I bought this for my brother in law. He is mentally handicapped and is very hard on things, so I wanted something that would hold up to hard hands. He likes to mow the grass and clean his shed often.

He likes to listen to music while he work. once shown how to use the buttons he loves it! He now wears it around the house while doing his laundry just so that he can use it more. I will be finding rechargeable batteries to use as he has already ran through 2 sets of AA batteries.

Sound quality depends on two factors: 1) Reception, when using the radio feature. 2) Use of a good headphones equalizer app, when using an internet source or music player app. The radio lacks high quality sound but is over all adequate.

Internet or player sourced music sound quality is excellent, especially when tweeked with an equalizer. Fastest and strongest Bluetooth connection I have ever experienced. No issues. Fits head and over ears snuggly but comfortably.

Very good outside noise isolation. Construction & wiring seems solid & durable. Phone use has been good with adequate clarity of both in-coming voice and microphone. No issues. Fully charges in around two hours, full charge with Bluetooth connected playing seems to last less than a full 20 hours but adequate at around 12 to 16 hours.

Definitely saves on replacing disposable batteries. Whole unit collapses down into a compact piece easily stashed in a small bag or backpack. Frustrating at first, because of radio sound quality, but am happy with my purchase after working with it and finding other features that make it very good.

Would recommend.

I’ve had these for a couple weeks so far. I have used them for mowing with our loud, big riding mower, and with a push mower. I think it does a great job and I really like it a lot. I got them because I had been using regular ear protection muffs before, and would wear earbuds underneath to listen to music or podcasts.

I got so tired of doing that because during long mowing sessions (takes over 3 hours to mow our lawn with the rider), my ears would start to hurt so bad from the pressure of the earbuds. I even tried two different kinds of earbuds and they were both uncomfortable.

It got to where I cut mowing short and stopped early because of my ears hurting. Also where the earbud cords came out from under the muffs put uncomfortable pressure on my ears. A smaller annoyance was having the cord to deal with.

Now I don’t have to deal with any of that and these muffs work great. The hearing protection is ideal. The audio quality is good; it’s better than my earbuds, and I like the variety of being able to listen to AM/FM if I want.

I also tried using them for a long phone call with my parents, and they worked great. Before, after a long phone call, my ears would hurt from the earbuds, but that’s no problem now with these muffs.

My only complaint, and why I gave these 4 stars instead of 5, is because when it’s connected to my phone via bluetooth, even when I’m purposely not listening to audio on my phone, say I’m listening to FM radio, it continually causes my music or podcast to start on its own.

I’ll look at my phone screen and it just starts on its own! I hit pause, and then a few seconds later, it starts again! This happens over and over and over. I don’t understand why. It seems hitting the “play” button (to go to the next programmed AM/FM station) may be triggering it to “think” I’m telling the music/podcast to play, since it’s connected via BT and “it” doesn’t know I’m listening to radio and not using the BT.

But, it’s a minor annoyance. These muffs are worth it.

I am a woodworker by trade, and I spend between 4 and 12 hours in earmuffs every day of the week. I have Sirius Satellite Radio in the shop that transmits commercial free radio into my ears all day over the FM radio.

Over the past 10 years since switching to speakered earmuffs, I have gone through several pairs of Peltor and 3M brands (sound quality was amazing, but each unit only lasted about 9 months to one year each before having electrical issues).

Next up was QuieTunes from Elvex. The quality and battery life is top notch, but the sound quality is nowhere near the Pelter/3M brands. They are cracked and abused, but still going strong 6 years later.

I recently got WiFi in the shop, so now I can stream Pandora on my phone. In my line of work, a wire is not something you want dangling around you, waiting to pull your head into rotating machinery. Bluetooth capability is a perfect match for earmuffs, but the only other Bluetooth earmuffs that are available at this point are $100+.

I figured these were worth a try at $54. 00. I’ve been using them constantly since I got them a week ago. My review: Pros: – The Bluetooth syncs up easily and effortlessly. No need to re-sync every time you come back.

I just turn the headset on and it automatically finds my phone and connects. – The ear cups are large enough for my big ears. – Phone calls and texts ring through the transmission as you would expect.

I haven’t tried taking a call through the earmuffs yet, but the package claims it is possible. – Sound protection is great and evenly balanced between the ears. – Battery life so far has been amazing.

I don’t listen to my music loud, but I have used them every day since I got them and the internal rechargeable battery hasn’t shown any dip yet! I’ve been putting off throwing them back on the charger just to see how long they last.

I use them with my iPhone, and the earmuff’s battery level shows as a tiny battery right on my phone’s screen next to the bluetooth icon. Nice feature. – The bluetooth volume can be controlled with the headset knob and your sending device’s volume, unlike other models that only allow you to control the volume with your phone, etc.

Cons: – The spring loaded tension in the head band is extremely tight. I had to hyperextend the headpiece to relieve some of the tension so it wouldn’t give me a headache after 5 minutes of use. – I don’t consider my head to be oddly shaped or considerably large, but even with the adjusters all the way out, the cups are a little higher than I’d like on my ears.

– The sound quality is horrendous. Don’t buy these expecting a substitute for high-end audio headphones. Think AM transistor radio. Take a standard boombox and turn down the equalizers all the way – that’s what you hear.

If audio quality is important, I’d almost guarantee the 3M 90542-3DC model will have 10x better sound. But again, the 3M quality just isn’t there. I will try to remember to update this review with any new findings.
