20 Best Headsets For Hearing Footsteps (2023 Updated)

I bought these because the pads on my old wireless bluetooth headphones had been worn thin and the company I bought them from no longer sold that pair. I bought these because I was looking for a solid set that sounded good – had modular capability (I kinda hate getting poked in the face by the mic) and were wireless.

Well, I got two out of three things with that. I bought them thinking they were wireless, but they’re not – but it wasn’t a total deal breaker for me and was also on me for not realizing it, especially at the price I paid.

The construction of these headphones are top notch. I love that they used actual thick metal for the headband and the hinges. That was my #1 issue with most logitech products is that the headband and hinges would break constantly.

Now that they’re reinforced, I most likely will see the other parts break before the hinges and headband do. The sound is rather good compared to the G935’s and G933 Artimus Spectrums I’ve owned. The base is deeper, vocals are much clearer and sound more full.

Over all an improvement for sure. For me it falls flat in the 7. 1 surround sound settings. Even with plenty of fidgetting with the settings (It comes with it’s own software suite which is nice. I own a 603 wireless mouse and it shows me battery % and allows me to program the buttons on the left of the mouse.

) and I could not get it to sound better than listening to everything through a tin can. Everything sounds distant and echo’s too much, but what can you really expect from digital surround sound? I’ve get to find a solid set of 7.

1 headphones. I’ll stick to the real deal or a 5. 1 sound bar. Over all, these headphones are a solid pick up if you want a pair of analogue headphones with some solid audio quality.

One of the biggest things I was looking for with a headset when I bought this was for comfort. My old headset was pinching my ears and head over long periods and actually giving me headaches. I found a lot of things that said these were very comfortable and there happened to be one pair in stock at our local Best Buy.

I am so glad I bought these overall. I have bought SO. MANY. HEADSETS over the last several years. Most end up being disappointments and falling by the wayside for some reason or the other – quality and lack thereof, comfort, connection issues for the wireless ones, you name it – but I’ve been using these happily for almost a year.

The cloth earcups are the way to go imo, but otherwise the sound quality is good for what it is, the mic is excellent and I immediately had people commenting on how much clearer I sounded compared to my old headset, and the comfort DID live up.

It’s not like it feels super luxurious or anything, it’s just that it stays comfortable after long wear. It took a couple of days to get past that initial brand new headset tightness, but ever since it has been comfortable and my wife even prefers it over other headsets in the house now.

Highly recommend these over the Steel Series Arctis 3/5 and others that tend to be favorites in the same range.

This gaming headset is great. It’s super comfortable being worn for several hours (I am 6’3″, 300 lbs so I can say my head is on the larger side). The flip up microphone is very convenient and actually sounds good.

The speakers themselves, in typical Sennheiser fashion, also sound really good. However, I’ve had two minor problems with it so far. The first issue is the connection to the bottom of the left ear cup.

Every once in a while it will get rotated, causing the microphone to cut out. It has to be in the exact right position for the mic to work properly. The second is the potentiometer on the right ear cup.

Apparently I’ve gotten dust in mine because I get a lot of crackle from the speakers and the balance becomes wonky when adjusting the volume via the knob. I always keep it at 100% as a practice but the potentiometer is loose and one small bump will rotate it ever so slightly, throwing off the balance as a result.

Once I find the sweet spot, it’s fine again for a while. Both of these issues only ever take me less than a minute to fix, so I consider them minor, but worth mentioning in a review. I have been using these for about 9 months, several times per week, and I think they have held up pretty well.

Hopefully the issues I mentioned don’t get worse because I really love this headset. Small rant: any competent engineer should know you don’t introduce unnecessary points of failure into a design, such as the potentiometer on this headset.

Just leave it off. Volume can be adjusted without a physical knob. I would have given this headset 5 stars if it weren’t for that.

I love almost everything about the HS80. Out of headsets I’ve used from Astro, Steelseries, and Razer it’s by far my favorite in terms of sound and mic quality and it’s up there in terms of comfort. I just wish the battery life was better and that’s the only thing keeping me from giving it a full 5-star rating.

I love the design of the HS80’s compared to the older Corsair headsets (I still like the older headsets too though). It has an understated professional look that I really appreciate ad the built-in illumination isn’t too crazy.

The materials are mostly plastic, but the construction is very high quality and keeps everything lightweight. It’s got the ‘ski goggle’ style headband that I love so much from the Steelseries headsets and the foam earpads breathe well.

The flip-down microphone holds its position well, though I’ve noticed it’s loosened up ever so slightly in the months I’ve had it. It’s nowhere near the point of it becoming unstable, but something to keep any eye on longterm.

In the box you get the headset, a wireless receiver, and a charging cable that also pulls double duty for wired usage. The receiver is on the slightly larger side compared to other dongles I’ve used, but it’s nothing egregious and it has an LED light indicate whether or not the headset is connected which is nice.

The setup and settings management is done via Corsair’s iCUE software. I personal find Corsair’s software to be a little clunky, but it works well enough for adjusting the settings on the headset. Wirelessly you get 24-bit 48kHz and 96kHz wired.

I can’t say if I really notice the difference compared to 16-bit 44kHz on other headsets, but it sounds great in either scenario for a variety of content. Most recently I have switched from playing Halo on my Xbox with a Steelseries Arctis 7X to playing on my PC with the HS80, using Dolby Atmos in both situations, and I was very surprised at how much more easily I could identify what was going on around me.

The headset gets plenty loud too and in general I’m below 50% volume most of the time, which is not something I can say about a lot of other headsets. The connection wirelessly is mostly solid; I noticed some interference having the receiver connected directly to the front of my PC from time to time, but moving it to the USB port on my keyboard eliminated that issue.

The microphone is incredible and the best I’ve heard on any headset I’ve used. It rivals the Blue condenser mics I have even. It does let in a fair amount of background noise though, so be aware of that.

My only real problem with the headset is its battery life. Most other wireless headsets I’ve used I don’t really think about the battery life while I’m using them and with the HS80’s I do. The battery will frequently go from full to ‘Medium’ in a single gaming session (maybe ~2-3 hours) and it seems like I’m only getting around 10-12 hours before I need to plug them in to charge.

It’s not the worst, but it’s bad enough that it’s always something that’s in the back of my head. It’s a shame since the quoted battery life of 20 hours would put it in line with other wireless headsets I’ve used, but it definitely does not keep up with them.

At least the headset can still be used in a wired mode, so you’re not completely out of luck when the battery dies. Despite my issues with the battery life the HS80 is my new favorite headset. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a higher-end wireless headset as long as you can cope with the below-average battery life.

I have to say I’m really surprised that the reviews on these aren’t much higher. I just did a geek squad replacement of my OG virtuosos due to a problem they started having after a whole year of use.

I’m a big tech geek so I love new device so I thought I would try this new model and I couldn’t be happier. The things I didn’t really like about my virtuoso we’re all addressed in these new hs80s. They are more ear shaped versus round which IMHO is a way better design.

The pads are thicker than my old ones so the comfort is a big upgrade. I was surprised the foam was softer than the pleather. They seem to rest on your head much nicer than the virtuoso ones and don’t apply as much pressure over the top of your head over long use.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved my virtuosos but these are lighter, don’t hurt your head after a few hours, isolate sound wayyyy better and at the same time still allow you to hear outside a small amount (which I prefer).

I also really love the fact that I can just flip the mic out of the way. Sound quality is awesome and the EQ settings give me some adjustments to what I am doing. I first put them on and joined my mythic plus group on WoW in discord and immediately loved them.

The difference was night and day with how clear and smooth the sound was when listening to teammates talk. Less outside noise than the virtuoso but still able to hear if I kept the volume down. I did turn them up to 100 and play some good electro music, and I felt like I didn’t want to take them off.

I feel very confident in saying I could use these all day and I’ve only used them for about 5 hours straight so far. If you look at a lot of YouTube videos like I did you will see a common thing with Corsair headphones.

The clarity is fantastic. I highly recommend if you give them a chance you will like them. Best buy has a good return policy so why not right? I try stuff all the time, most of the stuff I keep and these are no exception.

I want to pickup a second pair that I can take to my office but I may just get a nice carrying case so I can enjoy them everyday everywhere. Corsair killed it with these headphones. I think the only possible negative is that if your head height or width is a bit bigger than mine, the strap adjustments may not go far enough.

I’ve got a larger chin with a beard and a more oval shaped head profile so I’d say try the fit first but even if they were a little snug, the comfort of the ear cups might still make up for that. They feel so good, I don’t want to stop using them.

I bought these headphones pretty recently. I gotta say that I’m pleasantly surprised. Honestly I wasn’t expecting much as wireless headphones usually lack that sound depth that normal headphones have.

I knew from earlier experience that Corsair makes one of the best microphones on the market and well they nailed it once again. Mic sound is really good, sounds absolutely fine though it’s a teensy bit quiet.

The mic arm is kinda between too flimsy and too firm (if it makes any sense) but it’s still operational. Sound itself is good but the premade iCue sound profiles are pretty horrible. I just listened to different music while playing with the sound ranges n settled to a sound profile of my own.

Making your new sound profile is easy with the iCue program, just listen when it sounds good enough for u. From the hardware point of view, I like the design. It’s a perfect fit for a lady like me. That’s the thing though, my head is pretty small, so if your head is bigger than mine you might have some trouble.

I’d say this is a great fit for ladies and men those heads are on the smaller end. Also! The connection range surprised me. It was way bigger than people told in video reviews. I could walk all around my house n still have connection though the sound would start to break if there was more than 4 walls between the headphones n the connection unit.

Overall a great product for me :D.

The Razer BlackShark V2 wireless headset is a good gaming headset for PC. It’s lightweight with comfortable fitting earmuffs, excellent sound quality for gaming and listening to music, and decent overall construction despite it’s relatively low weight.

It comes with everything you need including a charger, a wireless USB adapter, a detachable microphone, and a fabric bag to store everything in. The controls are simple and function well. My only complaint is that the adjustment sliders seem oddly designed, like you’re moving the earmuffs up and down on paperclips instead of a solid plastic or metal slider.

So far that hasn’t caused any functional problems, but it’s evident that it’s a rather fragile part of the whole package, so you’ll want to avoid droping them on hard surfaces. For $145 I think they could have done better with the overal construction of the headset, as it’s lightweight nature, while very comfortable for long gaming sessions, also leaves it feeling a bit flimsy.

Most of the money seems to have gone into the speakers, which do provide exceptionally high quality audio, but nothing that isn’t comparable to other gaming headsets within this price range, so shop around before you pull the trigger on these.

Overall, I would recommend this headset to PC gamers who enjoy long gaming sessions and have a dedicated space to store this headset, as it probably won’t fare very well just being tossed around haphazardly.

I think there are other headsets with better build quality and comparable audio quality within the price range, but that better build quality often manifests as additional weight, so if you really want a comfortable, lightweight headset that provides exceptionally good audio quality, I would recommend this headset.

The headphones themselves sound awesome and the mic sounds really good for what it is. The drivers are great and have no problem hitting lows, punchy or sustained bass, which is what I look for in a headphone.

They sound like they should be in something two or three times the price. I honestly think they sound better than my old sony dj headphones, mdr-v700’s. and they were over $150, however they prob block out more background sound since the cups are vinylish.

the cups themselves on the steel series are not vinyl or anything that gets hot and uncomfortable, its something like a thicker type of cottonish stuff with some light foam like stuff for padding. I can wear them for hours and not have heat or comfort issues.

I got them so I could have a mic while playing iracing. having a volume control and mic mute right on the left ear is very convenient. The mic is also detachable so it can just be headphones only. You cant find a better headphone even if you go up another 25 bucks.

You can save a couple bucks and get the 20 or 30 dollar headphones but I consider those disposable since they are basically dollar store stuff with small drivers and no.

When I was younger Turtle Beach headphones were what I always gravitated to, but in recent years I had moved more towards Rig and then Astro`s A50 headphones to which after using this pair of headphones from Turtle Beach I do believe they may have taken the crown back as the best headphones on the market.

Firstly, out of the box the build quality was great as I could appreciate the all black aesthetic as they looked much more refined than the typical bold Turtle Beach colors. Initially I was disappointed with the all plastic look, but the headphones have some heft to them with the 50mm drivers so the plastic allowed them to not weigh down my head while gaming so I can appreciate the function aspect that comes with the plastic build material.

Also the metal within the headband was nice since this is one of the parts of the headset that always seems to give and break first. Next getting them paired with my Xbox was amazing as the simple USB dongle is great and provides a truly wireless experience without having to worry about a connected base.

Then pairing them with my phone and PC via Bluetooth was just as easy along with the USB pairing for my PC as well. Upon putting the headset on it was a little tight initially compared to other headsets, but it is something I got used to rather quickly.

Some headsets go overboard with the comfort and result in my ears getting too warm, but I did not have that issue with these as I assume the cooling-gel within the earcups assisted with this. One interesting feature was also the ability to modify the earcups if you have glasses as I am sure many can appreciate this small detail.

Over multiple hours long gaming sessions these headphones remained comfortable the entire time so there were definitely no issues when it came to overall comfort. Then the most important aspect of these headphones is the actual performance.

I was anticipating a lesser experience than my A50s as they are $100 cheaper, but I was definitely surprised after using these for a couple weeks and going back and forth as the Turtle Beach headsets definitely punch above their weight in this department! I did not have any issues with lag and once I got my settings all configured I have had no issues since.

The app is a nice added feature when it comes to customizing your experience, but the preset is more than acceptable in my opinion. The Superhuman Hearing is an interesting sound setting as everything appears to be boosted and I was unsure if there was much to it, but upon listening to music soundtracks I was able to distinguish where Turtle Beach was making adjustments and then going back and playing more FPS games I was able to begin to notice the difference and how beneficial it actually was.

The mic quality was right on par with what you would expect as everyone I played with said I came across crystal clear and the ability for the mic to fold right in flush with the headset is a nice feature along with the noise when muted and unmuted.

The one aspect I did especially like was the ease of use and the number of buttons/dials on the headset as many times manufacturers just go completely too far with clickable panels, knobs, dials, and buttons whereas Turtle Beach has made it so simple with just a game/chat knob, volume knob, mode button, power button, and Bluetooth button to which the game/chat and mode button can be customized in the app though I kept mine as is with the mode button toggling the Superhuman Hearing mode.

Also the feature of slightly raising the mode and Bluetooth buttons is a nice added feature in order to find the buttons quickly and distinguish between the power button. Then in regard to battery life let me tell you that the 40 hours nearly holds true and that it is definitely a long time that goes appreciated without have to charge every couple play sessions and even then the fast charging of 8 hours of gameplay in 15 minutes of charging is a great feature for when my headset did die on me in one of my play sessions.

Overall, there really is nothing to poke holes in with this headset as the ease of setup, comfort, and overall performance with the number of additional feature are all exceptional. At this price point on top of it I really think you can`t go wrong purchasing this headset regardless of what system(s) you are gaming on.

I had a pair of the first generation Stealth 700 gaming headsets and while I found them to be quite capable, there were a few small issues with the overall experience that stuck with me. This second generation of the sleek & affordable Stealth line fixes almost all of them, as well as adding in a few new tricks.

Build quality is above average, though not exceptional. The frame is pretty much all plastic with only a couple of metal parts, and has a soft matte finish that doesn’t pick up much in the way of fingerprints.

There are a few metal parts in the headband, but all the other accents are painted on. The earcups are thick and held on with friction-fit pins and are designed with an eye towards user serviceability, so if one happens to get damaged fitting a replacement should only require a few minutes time and the appropriate spare part.

Weight is significant – more than you’d typically expect from a nearly all plastic headset to be honest – but is carried well by the adjustable headband. And there’s plenty of room built in as well – it fit my XXL-sized head with plenty of adjustment to spare.

There’s even a feature designed to let you create a little channel for glasses to pass through along the side of your head, accomplished by pulling off the earcups and tightening a little rubber band that’s wrapped around the cushion beneath the cover.

It’s a fine idea, but I’ll admit that when I tried it the channel it created was a little too high to actually accomplish much in the way of strain relief. Things improve somewhat when moving on to core functionality though.

The previous model of Stealth boasted a very rich audio experience with a reasonably good surround sound effect when paired with the right hardware, and this new model lives up to the example set by its predecessor.

It’s got two basic modes for gaming that can influence the sound. “Superhuman hearing” (which is on by default) is tuned to accentuate ambient sound effects typically used in gaming (footsteps, gunshots, etc) to relay a character’s position relative to you.

Listening to music or audio from a video with this mode on can be a little weird, as random bits of audio suddenly make themselves a lot more well known, but it’s certainly not a bad experience. And if you want to use a more straightforward equalizer setting you can simply hit the mode switch to switch to the default setting, which offers much more balanced (if somewhat bass-heavy) audio.

Quality is very good with both the dongle and Bluetooth. The mic is good as well, though I’ll admit that I found myself a little less impressed with it compared to the quality of the playback. I think the main reason isn’t the quality of the mic being used, as it sounded fine when I just had it sitting on my desk, but rather the fact that it does have somewhat limited adjustability when you’re wearing it.

On device controls include a local volume wheel (which does not provide software volume control in windows, in case you were wondering) and a second wheel that you can remap in software, a mode switch, and a dedicated Bluetooth pairing button.

It also includes a feature that some may find quite handy: the ability to accept a signal from both the receiver and a Bluetooth device simultaneously. I’ll admit that I’ve yet to find a very compelling use case for this, particularly as balancing the volume of the two sources is quite tricky, but if you ever wanted to have a Zoom meeting with a custom soundtrack this is the device for you.

Mapping custom controls and fine-tuning the equalizer settings can all be accomplished via a mobile app that works over the Bluetooth connection, another nice touch albeit one most will probably use just once before forgetting about it entirely.

There are a few small areas for improvement going forward. The Bluetooth pairing process and the documentation around it isn’t great, for example. According to the instructions you simply have to hold the Bluetooth button down until it goes into pairing mode, but this won’t actually do anything but turn the Bluetooth receiver off.

In fact you have to turn Bluetooth on, hold the button down for a few more seconds to turn it on again, and keep holding it until you get the pairing notification. The fact that the volume wheel on the back of the headset isn’t software enabled makes it something of a rarity in modern wireless peripherals as well, and can potentially lead to some annoyance if it’s been accidentally turned down too much before you start.

Despite this, I still find it a lot easier to recommend this improved version of the Stealth 700.

Constant radio static: Steelseries support claims this is an unavoidable part of wireless audio. Im not sure if they are dumb or think we are. This is the only wireless device i’ve owned, besides a cheap kids walkie talkie set, to have static.

They sound awful: The have almost no base at all. As in when you run the sound test from windows sound menu, you almost cannot hear the base voice line at all. Same for the steelseries GG softwares audio test.

The software is severley lacking: The equalizer is missing most of the sound range, giving you very few options for improving the sound. They have a beta software called sonar, which has some of the best features iv’e seen and drastically improved the quality of the headset to atleast match cheap earbuds.

But this software works with any audio device from any brand. So your still better off starting with a better headset. The construction is flimsy, impossible to repair and uncomfortable: The ear cups are connected by a single hollow rotating joint.

Any drop or big bump threatens to turn this $500 headset into a useless lump of plastic. The weird way they connect to the headset makes it nearly impossible to tape or glue it back together if it did break.

The headband design is bewildering, the single thin unpadded strip is guarenteed to start causing pain in any extended gaming session. The solid arching piece connecting the ear cups, seems to just add unnecassary weight and barley holds tension.

The cups are only just wide enough for my above average ears. But not nearly deep enough. if your ears stick out these will likely be painful for extended wear.

I have had this headset since November 2018 and It’s an ALRIGHT headset but definitely not worth the price. PROS – 2 batteries so you can quickly switch between them so you can charge one while using the other – Wireless – Good mic – Good sound – volume wheel on headset is good – Wireless base station with a good screen – Bluetooth connectivity so I can talk to someone on the phone while simultaneously having game sounds coming through the headset – Mic retracts to be nearly invisible Cons – The on button.

You have to hold it for what feels like 5-10 seconds before it turns on. – The headset turns off when you switch the batteries so you have to turn it on again when you put the new one in. – The mute mic button is really sticky and doesn’t feel high quality.

Plastic rubbing against plastic and not pushing in smoothly. – The “game audio” and “chat audio” thing is horrible. My chat audio always comes through with a high pitch wine. I have all my audio running through “game audio” – The headset sometimes switches on and off when I put the headset down and pick it up.

– Head band does not have enough range for different sized heads. – The small nail cut out for taking the side panel off is difficult if you have short nails. – Ear cup “leather” degraded and disintegrated, leaving black stuff on the side of my face.

– Part where the metal head band arm met the ear cup broke on the ear cup plastic. – It can connect to your computer via a cable but not USB C. -.

The comfort is good and the overall sound quality and mic is pretty good. That said, i believe it is way overpriced for what you are getting, and the HiFi aspect is a bit of a gimmick considering what these are made for.

Some games don’t play well with the HiFi 96hz mode enabled (I also have a MOTU M2 audio interface that can run at 192KHZ with my 250 ohm Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros). The problem with Hifi mode in games with the Steel Series DAC mostly has to do with the directional quality as the sound isn’t fluid as you pan around.

It randomly jumps sometimes instead of panning smoothly when orienting your character in a video game. That isn’t the case with HiFi mode off, but there is also an issue the appears when running these in the normal “PC” mode.

There is a well known glitch i quickly discovered when running this headset on the default “PC” mode which gives you separate controllable channels (thru the DAC) for both your chat and game audio. They are called “GameDAC Chat” and “GameDAC Game”.

If you do not put your PC to sleep with the “GameDAC Game” set as the audio solution currently being used “GameDAC Game” will disappear in the audio menu when you wake your PC. You will have to either unplug and re-plugin the DAC, or go into the DAC menu and turn on “HiFi” mode for a second, then turn HIFI mode off.

Windows 10 will display the “GameDAC Game” audio selection again. Just Google “GameDAC Game disappearing” and you will see what I am talking about. It is an issue that has been going on since release of this headset, but hasn’t been fixed for some reason.

TL;DR: excellent sound quality, reasonable sound isolation, excellent comfort and adjustability, the convenience of Bluetooth, and good battery life with quick charging. The Logitech G HUB Gaming Software is more frustrating than helpful.

The Logitech G735 Aurora Wireless Gaming Headset is a super comfy, adjustable headset with Logitech’s signature attention to detail for button layout and configuration (it’ll take you a minute to learn the layout, but once you do, everything has a place and a satisfying click when pressed).

The ear padding is comfortable and provides a reasonable amount of natural sound isolation. The microphone has great pickup and flexibility, can be removed and stowed, and you can even directly connect via USB-C or audio jack if you want.

The audio range, quality, and volume ranges were great. The headset is light while having a ton of adjustability to make the fit more comfortable and secure without being pinchy. The battery life is sufficient for a wireless all-day stream (and an all-nighter if you have the LEDs off).

In terms of visual appeal, these definitely fit the bill for a fun look while streaming (the exterior LEDs have a soft glow without being overly bright or intrusive – they give a visual indicator of the button you push as well and can be customized – theoretically – through the Logitech G HUB Gaming Software).

For streamers, one of the cooler aspects of the Aurora series is that you can customize the look with add-on accessories (the keyboard and mouse can match the aesthetic and they even sell matching Blue Yeti mics).

If you do any sort of wide shots of your desk/setup, the whole Aurora set is certainly eye-catching. Here’s why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5: on two separate devices, no matter what I did, I could not get the Logitech G HUB Gaming Software to recognize that I’d connected the headset, which meant the Blue Vo!ce filters and the RGB customizations mentioned all over the box are inaccessible.

and I couldn’t figure out an alternate way to gain access to those customizations. This is a major issue for plug-and-play streamers who want a no-fuss setup (and realistically: your gaming rig has it’s own gaming software, plus Steam, plus Discord, plus OBS, plus.

) and so you end up needing yet. another. piece. of. software. to do something which should just be integrated as a plug-in to any one of those existing software setups instead. All in all: if you want a good looking gaming headset that can coordinate your entire rig’s color scheme and have the time to fuss with the software, the Logitech G735 is a great choice.

TL;DR – They sound good once you get all the extra optional software installed; the non-adjustable headband was okay if you wear them “properly”; the microphone sounds absolutely terrible (like you’re far away and talking through a can with string); I highly strongly sincerely recommend the Corsair HS80 gaming headset over this! In-depth review – I returned these things after 1 day of “use” — and most of that time was spent trying to get them to sound halfway decent.

I installed the required software needed to run them and everything sounded HORRIBLE. Turns out that you need to install the optional software as well for the EQ and sound options. I understand that that’s not that big of a deal, and they did indeed sound good after I got it all installed and set up, but I didn’t want all of their bloatware and unnecessary junk on my computer.

Turns out I had no choice in the matter. But there was another issue with the mic that I just couldn’t accept. According to my gaming buddies, it sounded substantially more horrible than my webcam mic that I’d been using.

NOTHING that I could do would allow me to fix or adjust this either. So after the constant complaints of not being able to understand and hear me, I finally just unplugged them and went back to my webcam and external speakers.

Another thing to touch on is the non-adjustable headband. For reference, I wear a size L motorcycle helmet and these things just barely fit my head, although it was a good fit once I wore them “properly”.

If you have a larger head though then you might want to skip these. I took these back and spent $6 more for the Corsair HS80 headset and it was night and day!! I did have to install a Dolby app from the MS Store on my Windows 10 system, but they sound so much better and the microphone is absolutely perfect.

Even if these BlackSharks are okay or good enough for you, the other is just so much better all the way around.

Went from a Logitech G933 wireless headset that I used for about 3 years to this after the microphone on the old headset just stopped working. Prior to that, had used a Corsair Void Pro RGB wireless headset that worked for about 2 years (although with various issues, do not recommend) and then the battery refused to hold a charge.

So far, the Razer headset has worked well, and the biggest pro I’d say is that the battery is very long lasting. I use the headset for easily 12-15 hours a day without issue. I work from home and am either listening to music or in virtual meetings or on phone calls pretty much all day.

I then usually do some gaming or watch shows for a few hours in the evening. The Logitech headset with all LEDs off got at best about 10 hours and I’d usually have to start charging it towards the end of the work day if I didn’t want it dying on me that evening.

That being said, I think I’d still prefer the Logitech G933 overall in terms of features/sound quality. I particularly like being able to wash the ear cups and replace the battery. The real test for me though will be how long the Razer headset continues working, since I’ve not had luck with any wireless headset working beyond 2-3 years so far.

Noticeably better microphone. Lighter weight without being too light/sliding around. Lastly, Razer’s software is actually really good compared to virtually all other PC peripheral software I’ve used, most of which tends to be total garbage.

Logitech’s G-Hub software is functional, but also greatly reduces the overall volume of the G933 when it’s installed and I have no idea why. I ended up just uninstalling it.

One of the better sounding wireless gaming headsets on the market. It’s obviously not going to sound are great as wired headsets, especially studios, but, specifically for what it is, they sound great.

The clamp force isn’t too intense or too loose. I personally like the black and white aesthetic and how it moves away from Razer’s mostly green products. Unfortunately, this item only lasted 9 months with me.

Now, it repeatedly disconnects every half a minute or so. Sometimes, it takes as long as two to three minutes between a disconnect. Other times, it disconnects three to four times in a row. It immediately reconnects, but you don’t hear any audio during that disconnect other than the audio cue of said disconnecting and reconnecting.

I cannot in good conscience recommend a product that cannot even make it a year. I’ve looked it up, and many, many people are facing this same issue. I was so fed up with the connection issue that I dusted off my old wireless Arctis 1, which connected immediately and with no issue.

I purchased this headset for my home office as I’m on a lot of conference calls and have to move around some times, so a wired headset wasn’t going to work. The reason for the 3 star review is due to the first faulty set I got.

It would pair fine with the Bluetooth on my laptop but would cut out and could not recover when this happened. Out of 10 calls, it cut out on 7 of them and the other person’s voice would become choppy and impossible to understand.

Once it got into this mode, it could never recover and even if you were right beside the computer (distance not being an issue), the choppiness would not go away. I had to take this set back to BestBuy who swapped them out immediately and the 2nd set is performing as advertised.

I’ve used it for a few calls and so far so good. The distance you can go on this headset before it starts getting choppy will depend on how many walls and corners are between the headset and the computer with the Bluetooth signal.

I have a fairly open area with just a few walls and I’m able to get pretty far – about 60′ with one corner. They’re fairly comfortable to wear for my conference calls which are between 30 – 60 minutes normally.

I wouldn’t say they’re OK to wear continuously for many hours at a time as they do fit snuggly over the ears. I also wear glasses and they begin to hurt behind the ears a bit after multiple hours, and I don’t have a wide head so it’s not stretching the headset bands at all.

These do not have noise cancellation so they rely on the foam pads and a snug fit to keep the external noise down. I do like the lighted mute indicator on the speaker mic as this is easy to see and you know when you’re muted or not.

If your camera is on as well, the other participants will see that you’re muted too. I haven’t gotten a chance to fully test the battery longevity yet as I bought these right before the holidays and didn’t have to go on a lot of calls.

Overall if it wasn’t for the first pair that had so many connectivity issues, I would rate it at a 4 or potentially 5 stars. The long term comfort (if you’re wearing glasses) may be a concern as they do fit snug.

I actually wasn’t expecting too much from these headsets, as I my voice quality is just above a whisper, due to a tracheostomy and vocal cord issues and I needed to be able to have a headset whose microphone would make my voice able to be heard clearly on Zoom meetings and if possible, over the cell phone.

I had been told by others with similar issues, not to expect basic headsets to work for me. Well, I was very pleasantly surprised. The sound quality of the headset is booming. When I listen to my music, it is pure bass and I am lost in paradise.

The real shocker was that when I attempted to speak on Zoom, people said that they can hear me loud and clear. However, the biggest surprise was yet to come. I never purposely tried to pair my cell phone to the headsets while paired to my laptop.

One day my cell rang, and I realized that I could hear it ringing in my headset, so I started talking and the person on the phone said “I can hear you very well. So these little headsets really delivered! My only complaint is that I am extremely careful and light-handed when touching the headset, and yet pieces were literally falling off of it and then, in front of friends on a Zoom meeting, the left earpiece broke and started twirling around and stuck out of my head.

Then little plastic pieces just fell off of it. To keep the ear parts from spinning around and sticking out, I currently have the headset held together, by black electrical tape, that isn’t visible to anyone else.

I will buy another one when I can get it. But I really love these!.

Nice construction, as light as advertised, convenient mic enabling on the headset, good Bluetooth connectivity. and all audio input and output ceases immediately if the mic is enabled. You have to disable it in the system dialog to get even output back.

And that’s if you can get it connected in the first place – it does not automatically install drivers even with a fully updated OS, despite what their joke for a support site claims. I had to manually install the Generic Windows Bluetooth Driver myself.

If I wanted a wired headset I’d have bought a wired headset. I’m going to return this and buy wireless headphones instead and I don’t know what I’m going to do for a microphone yet but it will not involve JLab.

I was trying to replace a wired headset that was damaged due to being wired (I have children with amazing grip strength) and this is even worse than the broken headset. The broken headset works better! I can’t hear sound very well in one of the speakers but the whole thing doesn’t suddenly stop playing audio just by have the mic enabled! What a piece of junk.

It claims crystal clear call audio but I’d be satisfied with any audio quality at all!.

Just to start off, I do like this headset a lot when compared to my previous wireless headset (BlackShark V2 Pro) and there are some great things about it. First, and definitely the main selling point of this headset, is its incredible battery life.

I read reviews that said it lasted beyond its rated 300 hour battery life and I can confirm it is that good. The sound quality is nice but the EQ presets are a bit lacking with the HyperX software. The build quality is nice but the fit is a bit awkward for my head as I have noticed my ears get a little uncomfortable after some longer use.

Some actually annoying issues I have with this headset come from the audio side of things with some awful clicking sound nearly every time there is a sudden audio transition (i. e. a video stops on youtube or you pause a song).

This is really annoying since it seems to be a general issue with the Cloud Alpha line and not just this wireless version of it. It isn’t a deal breaker for me but I wish it didn’t do this obviously.

Other than that, the only other issue I have is that there is a very subtle amount of white noise I hear when the headset is on but I really only notice it when I turn the headset off and realize that there was actually some static noise.

I do like this headset a lot and I appreciate the wireless consistency compared to my previous headset along with the battery life that’s in a league of its own but it is important to note its flaws.

Despite slightly superior overall audio quality to built-in TV speakers, like the superiority of 3D movies, you don’t even notice the difference after a few minutes. However, I never forget the constant mild pressure around my ears whose impact becomes super obvious once I take the headset off.

I’ve never used gaming headsets, but have heard of the “night and day” difference they make compared to a TV’s speakers. I figured I’d go get these on Black Friday. Even for $60 though instead of $100, it’s not worth it.

I’d rather have a comfortable head, $60 in my wallet, and less wires than deal with the slightly better overall audio, and I mean slightly. Why only slightly better audio? 1. Some sounds are more pronounced, but others are a bit muffled, while TV speakers have more of a middle-ground for everything.

2. The maximum sound level on the Nintendo Switch was absolutely pathetic. I have good hearing, and it was just enough to be suitable. This is unacceptable. What are people with impaired hearing supposed to do? At least my TV can blast the audio if I wanted.

3. Even with inferior sound, you still notice the difference of sound all around you from TV speakers over headphones. 4. Music showed almost no noticeable quality difference. It was mostly sound effects prevalent in video games.

I didn’t know what I was missing with a gaming headset, and it turns out, not much. Maybe super expensive headsets offer that “night and day” difference people are talking about, but for a $100 list price for a wired set, I expected better.

I didn’t even test the mic because I have no use for it. I know headsets have always struggled with comfort. It’s just not worth it.

The HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless headset is an excellent gaming companion. The battery life really is incredible. I’ve been using it off and on for a little over a week and I have yet to charge it. It arrived with around 90% battery and I’m around 60% now.

Sound quality is what you’d expect from HyperX, similar profile to the wired Cloud Alpha. Punchy bass when you need it and an overall crisp sound. Mic is clear and the mic-monitoring is really great.

Works well on PS5 and PC. I love that you can turn it on and off from the headset itself, sometimes if it’s only software based I encounter more issues. I did notice a couple disconnects when playing on PS5.

All sound cut out and turning the headset on and off did not fix it. I unplugged the USB receiver and plugged it back in, which seemed to fix the issue. This was before an update for the headset and I haven’t experienced that since.

The NGENUITY software is a little glitchy. have to install from the Microsoft Store. I was using an old beta due to some issues with my HyperX keyboard and the headset was not recognized. Restarted and then it seemed to work and update.

Overall, great headset and you can’t complain about battery life. Great knowing it will work without having to charge every other day. Also if you happen to have velour pads from the wired Cloud Alpha, those fit and work on these.

Lose a touch of bass, but reduce some of the heat. Pros: -BATTERY LIFE!!! -Sound -Mic -Fit Cons: -Some quirks with NGENUITY software -No bluetooth or 3. 5mm (knew this going in and doesn’t bother me, but good for some folks to know).

First impressions on unboxing the Logitech Zone Vibe 100 are very good which is unsurprising as Logitech is brand renowned for fantastic tech accessories. I was very impressed with the sleek design and the high build quality is immediately apparent.

They are very modern and minimalist and don’t look over the top (perfect for work). I love the simple design of the microphone and that you can tuck it subtly into the headphones. The head phones are incredibly lightweight which is perfect for a day of back-to-back meetings the construction incorporates recycled plastic as well, a massive win in my opinion! The installation and set up was very straightforward with Bluetooth connection that quickly and easily paired with my phone and laptop.

Battery life is very impressive as I don’t seem to have to charge them for several days at a time. The sound quality on these headphone is perfect. Sound in video playback and music was really impressive and not at all tinny.

There is also an app where you can adjust the EQ but I haven’t had any need to use it. The real game-changer for these headphones is the noise cancelling microphone!!! This has changed virtual meetings for me.

I work from home 3 days a week (in a house with young children) and up until now I have been paranoid that my colleagues will be disrupted by my 2 year old daughter, now I can rest assured that my colleagues won’t hear a thing.

This feature will also really come in handy for those working in coworking spaces and cafes! These are the best and most versatile headphones I’ve ever had. They have changed working from home for me and I will be recommending them to friends and family.

I got these about 2 weeks ago and have used them for various things in that time and have come to like them very much. First of all on unpacking them I noticed that they are a little smaller than I was expecting but are the perfect size and look very nice in the grey colour.

Ergonomically they feel very nice when put on. although the over the head strap isn’t well padded but still feels very comfortable, the padding around the ear encompasses the ears well and helps reduce background noise.

The flip down mic isn’t intrusive in any way at all, and the weight of these is quite low so there are no issues wearing them for prolonged periods. Charging the headphones takes no time at all and lasts a few days.

you can do a quick 5-10 minute charge and get over an hours worth of use out of them so great if you just need to do a quick meeting online and the battery is dead. Charging is through a USB C cable which is handy for me as I always have my MacBook charger to hand so can just charge the headphone as and when I need them.

Pairing them is straight forward and there is an APP to help with this. Once paired the sound quality is excellent. everything is crisp and clear and the surround sound is very good. I have been told that when talking through these my voice comes across very clear with no background noise being noticed.

The bluetooth range seems to be very good as well as I have walked around whilst connected to a meeting and made myself a brew without any interuption or interference. All the buttons are in the right place and can easily be accessed when in use.

once you have gotten used to where they are on the headset. If you are looking for a headset that is great for online meetings and work but also has the sound quality to enable you a great experience when listening to music then go no further.

these are superb at both and are very comfortable to wear. I would highly recommend these to anybody looking at investing in a new set of wireless headphones.

I bought this when my last headset stopped working suddenly, (4 year old Microsoft headset). I work from home and do phone customer support so the headset is a vital piece of equipment for me. Firstly the sound is great and don’t get too many complaints about the caller not hearing me.

When I do it’s most likely the vpn or phone software. My first of two complaints about the headset is that with the wire coming from the right ear doesn’t suit me well since my computer is on the left an the weight of the wire pulls it off my head if I lean forward.

2nd is that the red light on the wire that indicates the mute button is pressed suddenly stopped after about a month of use, this making it hard to know it’s muted until someone cannot hear me. Frankly i’d like the wire to be a little lighter weight, the volume/mute control on the wire rather then the ear piece and the ear piece to have more of a cup rather then flat.

I bought this because I needed something quick and there wasn’t much else to choose from. It does the job but I can’t say it’s fantastic. Not sure why the chord is on the right as most people are right handed.

The wire just gets in the way. I’ve managed to live with it tucked under the laptop but I can’t get the microphone close enough to my face. That being said, no one has complained about not being able to hear me and the noise reduction is pretty decent.

I will keep it as a backup. If you are on the phone all day you might consider paying a bit extra for something of a high quality. This was the highest I could go without getting into Bluetooth.

I needed a USB headset (the 3. 5mm audio jack doesn’t work on my desktop), so I chose the Logitech H540 at my local Office Depot store since it was reasonably priced and I have other Logitech products that have served me well.

This budget-friendly headset does what it’s supposed to do, and I was surprised to learn that it includes a microphone. Audiophiles will of course want to purchase something better for high-fidelity sound reproduction.

Another thing to consider for this product is that it is considered an “over ear” headset, but I discovered that it is an “open back” version of over-ear headphones and not the “closed back” or “sealed” version which I am used to.

To sum up, I recommend that those in the market for a new headset should invest a little more money for a better product.
