20 Best Headset For Mic Quality (2023 Updated)

I really liked the sleek design and comfort of these headphones, so I tried to make them work for a week before returning them today. The deal breaker for me was the frequent snap, crackle, and pop sounds I was getting while streaming on Twitch.

My old wired headset didn’t have this problem, so I reviewed the Steelseries headset/mic and OBS bit rates and made sure the mic was fully plugged in. I tried a couple other things, but the only one I refused was setting the sound EQ to flat in SteelSeries GG (product management app) because it honestly sounded much worse in comparison to “music” mode.

For $100, I should be able to use different EQ settings at the very least!! PROS – Sleek design. The reason why I picked the Steelseries vs. other options at Target. – VERY comfortable ear cups. Would not hurt my ears after 5-hour gaming or TV sessions.

I also have 5 piercings per ear so this was very impressive and the main reason I didn’t want to give up this headset. CONS – Medium difficulty setup. After downloading SteelseriesGG and pairing the headset to my PC, the audio worked – but not the mic.

I followed the Steelseries FAQ to troubleshoot, and it did not work. It somehow started working when I went to Sounds > Properties > Listen and check marked “Listen to this device” (not mentioned anywhere on Steelseries and random reddit threads).

That brought the mic to life, and I was able to uncheck the box and save. – Confusing battery life LED indicator. It often would not update with the correct color indicator. For example, I would charge it to Green and then it would be Yellow as soon as I turned it on to use the headset.

– Minor snap/crackle/pop issues in voice chat (Discord) and audio (listening to TV shows). My friend told me it wasn’t bad, but sometimes my voice sounded choppy in Discord. Sometimes there would be audio lag.

It wasn’t the end of the world, but it was noticeable. – Garbage SteelseriesGG program. Whoever made this app needs to go back and work on it. You need this to set up the Bluetooth dongle pairing and in the future for viewing the battery life icon or changing EQ settings.

However, the program never properly terminates after you close it, even after you’ve turned off your PC. I would have to run it as administrator and terminate all duplicate tasks 3x to get this app to even launch and load.

And it’s not even the regular. exe launcher! I had to dig around Program Files for another version of the app launcher and pinned it to Start. Finally, I wondered if the problem was my hardware – could I be maxing out my USB bandwidth? I picked up a HyperX Cloud Flight (wireless 2.

4 Hz USB) on the same day after returning the Steelseries. Surprisingly, I did not have any issues. I even put the HyperX USB in the exact same USB 3. 0 slot as the Steelseries USB Bluetooth dongle. Therefore, I am inclined to think the Steelseries USB was either defective or low quality.

I want to start off saying that I’m a big fan of Corsair products. I have a mouse, keyboard, computer memory and now these headphones. I decided t6o buy this headset after my HyperX corded headset broke.

I was looking for a well built headset that was cordless too. These were in stock and came recommended buy the sales consultant both online and in the store for the price point. They are not cheap but worth it.

Setting up was surprisingly simply and the download software a breeze. You can also utilize the Dolby Atmos software but defeats any tweeking of the equalizer. I choose the Atmos software through Windows and it sounds terrific.

The bass is not super deep but you could probably increase the settings if you use the Corsair Equalizer. Anyway, I play, for the most part, Modern Warfare Warzone and the sound is amazing. I keep taking off my headphones to ask if my wife was saying something because of all the background noises in the games.

Your head is surrounded with the game. The microphone sticks away from your mouth and you can adjust it closer but this is a great microphone so keeping it about 2-3 inches away and you will be just fine.

The USB-C connection is the same as most modern phones to charge the headset and does accept the rapid chargers too which is a plus. The headset has an automatic on/off when is senses movement. It turns off if left still in only a few minutes to save the battery.

I get about 6 to 8 hours on a charge and the battery light turns red when battery is low but have never let it run totally out so the runout time could be longer. You can play with the headset totally out of charge and the power cable is plugged in.

Even though it’s not a cheap headset the construction is very robust and doesn’t have flimsy materials either. Warning – if you have big ears that stick out a lot taht the ear cups are kind of shallow.

Look for other models that have deep ear cups. If you are okay with the ear cups, I would suggest buying them. Ok course with Best Buy you can return them to the store for a full refund but make sure you know the return policy and how many days you have to return them.

Overall this headset is pure quality, not just the build, but also audio wise. Using the wireless feature, it has a lot of thump for base, and surround sound in my opinion is better than the RGB SE. Now, using wireless, you will have to use Dolby Atmos, it does have that really nice clear bassey sound in high fidelity headphones.

Using the Bluetooth feature isn’t all that bad, however because of the microphone being enabled. It will quite down the drivers so you will have a lower input volume. The best thing about this headset is the fact you can remove the wireless dongle and just use this headset purely as a wired headset.

This in turn gives the headphones microphone the best possible quality. It also adds the 8 way 24 channel 48000 megahertz for true surround sound. Now, depending on the audio app you are using, this headset will utterly blow your mind.

One thing that’s very important to understand about Corsair products is that they are for PC first, and everything else second. So if your getting these for console gaming, your better off using them on a PS5.

You can use them on the series x, but you will not get anywhere near the same quality as you would on PC, and PS5. I do want to note that the virtuoso XT will work with nehemic audio in purely wired mode, and they do sound pretty amazing.

I like these headphones a bunch, i use it way more than my PC speakers, actually i just removed the speakers, now i only have this headphone, the bass is strong and i love it. I recommend to use the dongle that comes in the box for the extra bass and better surround sound.

The mic disconnect feature when you flip it up is really useful, i don’t need to mute it manually or anything is just a simple flip and that’s it. People say they could hear me fine so that’s cool. I was worried about durability at first but after using it for months now.

its solid. For now at least. this plastic build worrys me alot. I don’t want it to break down one day just for using it. and i took real care for it too trying to not let it drop off my table. Overall, for the price i paid for, its a really good headset.

Ah forgot to mention, i used it on a PS4 controller trough the headphone jack port, it also worked really fine, no problems there. You only miss the surround thing.

I’ve always loved the Logitech headsets and have probably had 4-5 in the past. So far this one is my favorite. The sound is great and helps eliminate any other sound outside of the game I’m playing. It has volume up on one of the ears which makes it easy to adjust versus some of the other that have it on the cord.

Sound quality for both games and voice chat is very crisp and clear and from what I’ve been told, the voice output is also clear for those you are speaking too. the padding on the ears is great and very comfortable especially when wearing them for a couple hours of gaming.

My only complaint is they are a bit heavy. I find the top of my head gets a bit sore after a bit and I have to move the headset so it is rest more toward the back of the top of my head instead of right in the middle.

The top of the headset does has a good amount of padding but even with that you can feel the weight.

The Logitech G432 Gaming Headset is the perfect headset for those who are just venturing into the realm of PC or console gaming, providing professional sound quality at an affordable price. The headset provides a nice balance between treble and bass sounds, allowing for bass-heavy songs or in-game explosions to stand out without becoming too overpowering for the listener.

Compared to cheaper headphone models like the Logitech H390, the microphone of the G432 has a noticeably better sound quality, but the G432 does not provide very much sound output for a normal voice level.

The low output is largely in part due to the fact that the swivel microphone rests at an angle to the left of the user’s mouth. If the input level on the PC or game console is increased, however, the microphone can provide excellent sound quality for simple recording, PC gaming, or web conferences.

The adapters included in the G432 box also allow for quick connection to either the headphone jack or the USB input of any console, giving the headset versatility and easy access. During the lockdowns I learned to play league with my boyfriend and “the boys”, my boyfriend built himself a brand new computer and gave me his old headset since it was better than Samsung phone earphones.

We got a puppy and he unfortunately chewed through the headset chord. I needed a new headset that was wireless, I wanted something comfortable and light since I’m small and my head is very small. My choices were the SteelSeries, this and the Corsair Virtuoso.

I watched and read many many reviews and personal opinions and kept going back to the g733 and SteelSeries. I decided on the g733 because of the consistent review (that males would mostly make or a Caucasian women gamers) on how tight or small it was.

I could tell right away that it would fit me perfectly. I liked that it was mesh as opposed to leather for the fabric since leather gets really bad wear over time, and my boyfriend kept reassuring me that this headsets mic was going to be way better than the 6 year old $60 one I was replacing.

I’m not too keen on the actual specs but right away I could hear the difference on how much better this one is, and all my guy friends said how crisp and louder my voice was. So, if you’re a small Asian girl like me, who likes to play league or games with your man & other friends, wants something light and comfortable without your neck hurting, with great sound and pretty good mic, and something beautiful, this headset is it! The two things I love about it is the fact that I can charge it and use it at the same time, I can use my phone chord to charge it too since it doesn’t require a battery in the headset like the SteelSeries, and how convenient it is to run the bathroom without feeling I’m taking off and putting on 7 pounds from my head.

This headset is perfect for petite girls.

I don’t think that I could live without this headset now that I have it. The sound quality is great, the wireless connection works well and they just look good overall. However, there were a few aspects of this headset that could be improved: I think that it should be compatible with my xbox, and not just playstation.

To play with a headset on xbox, I would have to buy another separate one, which would obviously be quite expensive. I would have preferred to have a headset from a trusted brand and be able to use the software provided by Logitech and match it with my mouse and keyboard, etc.

I don’t know if this problem is due to licensing issues, but it would be good if this support was available in the future. Another thing that I don’t particularly like about this headset is that you can’t change the colours on the RGB lights or turn them off altogether.

I would like this feature to be added as it would be nice to sync this with all my other logitech products. This can also be annoying as i found that the lights can disrupt game play and be distracting overall in the dark.

As this feature is available on other logitech products, it would be nice to see it here. Overall, an amazing headset with a few small issues! Would definitely recommend!.

I’ve followed the EPOS lineup closely for about two years now after my girlfriend gifted me the Game Zero’s for my birthday. This is my first purchase with the company and it’s been absolutely amazing.

Capturing the bass from the intense explosions on the occassional battlefield in 2042 or just capturing the roar’s of the t-rex from JWE2, this headset was a huge upgrade from my game zero. I totally recommend it for anyone interested using it for FPS genre or good soundtrack-oriented games.

It hits on another level.

Excellent headset. Has a very natural sound, not over exaggerated on bass like Razer or high on treble like turtle beach. The most comfortable headset I have personally ever worn. Also everyone who has tried has said same thing.

Is plenty loud enough also but if you have a dac will make it louder and more customisable on sound eq. High price but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Shame the racing green were not available.

Got it on sale, but it’s the best gaming headset I’ve had. It’s built solid, I’ve had headphones break due to cheap plastic design flaws, this one is solid. It blocks out alot of background noise, the sound quality is also very good.

The mic is clear and detaches (they give you a face plate to cover it so they look like normal headphones, so you don’t look strange on the Train ect. ) The only downside I can find is if you wear them long term (3 + hours) your ears might get hot.

Very happy though :), highly recommend.

When it comes to audio/video, to each their own and everyone has their personal preference. After having owned/tested several high end gaming headsets, I have to say that my vote goes to these Arctis Nova Pro wireless headsets.

The design and the quality of these headsets are amazing. They fit my ears perfectly, have a luxury feeling and are very comfortable to wear even for a long period of time. I found the sound, both high and low to be quite awesome on all kind of gaming and even music.

The Bluetooth feature is great as I was able to connect the Arctis to my phone in seconds and enjoy music when I am not gaming. When it comes to the noise cancelling feature, I have to say that it was pretty good, leaving me with a very clear sound even when there is a lot of noise around me.

Using these during my gaming sessions is awesome as not only the audio is very clear but the people on the other end can hear me clearly as well. I really love how the microphone can retract inside the headset.

But I have to say that the best part of these Arctis Nova Pro is to me, the very impressive battery life that puts all the other big name brands to shame as they lasted me 3 entire day without having to recharge them and if I ever run out of power, all it takes is 10 seconds to swap the battery with the extra one that comes in the box and I am set for another 3 days.

The base station/multi-system receiver is also quite awesome as it not only let me easily swap between my consoles, let me change the EQ settings but also has a slot to charge the extra battery. All in all, these are now my new favorite gaming headsets and it goes without saying that they get a perfect score from me.

Steelseries did an amazing job on those.

I’ve had this headset for about two weeks, and so far I’ve found them to be very good (I can sometimes even hear footsteps in Apex). I have never interacted with the GameDac so was a bit worried it might be hard to set up.

Fortunately when you plug it in it gives you a replayable tutorial that introduces you to its UI and some of its features. The UI itself is clear and responsive, making it easy to navigate. I’m not the biggest audiophile so I’m not an expert when it comes to choosing the ideal settings with the GameDac.

I can say however that I definitely noticed that the audio seemed much better when using the GameDac vs just plugging the headset into my controller. The sound was much more immersive and had more depth to it.

The GameDac comes with a few audio presets, and I personally found the “Focus” audio preset to sound the best for me. In terms of the mic, it is housed in the headset and can be pulled out to position it closer to your mouth.

The headset comes with a mic windscreen which is nice, and I often leave it on the mic and leave it sticking out a bit (rather than taking it off and inserting the mic all the way after use). In terms of mic output quality, my friends say the audio comes through clearly and doesn’t pick up much background noise/static.

The headset itself has a nice sleek design, and is comfortable to wear. The ear pads are nice and soft and the headset feels durable. I found ski goggle lining a bit strange at first, but I do like that it is detachable and can be washed separately.

Overall I think the headset is very solid and look forward to continuing to use them!.
