My previous pair of over-the-ear headphones, was the Beats Executives. Those of course was wired ONLY and required batteries frequently. And maybe within 2 years of owning it, the motherboard on that decided to kick the bucket and one side was completely ruined.

Between then and now, I did look at couple over the ear headphones, but was eyeing at the Bose lineup. I didn’t bother to want to buy any until I started to binge watch a YouTube channel called DankPods recently while being sick.

Then I started looking around and doing my own research about headphones. I currently use Samsung Galaxy Buds tuned by AKG and have them connected to many devices. So when I saw this on sale, I just had to jump on it, and also there was like 1 left at my store in the white color only (the other one was out of stock).

Bought this as a birthday gift for me and been enjoying it. I would suggest not using this with the wired connection, as it sounds pretty off compared to the Bluetooth option. Its a great pair of headphones and well worth the price.

This does beat out the Beats on many levels.

I recently picked up these headphones after owning a set of Razer Kraken’s for 3 years. I wanted something that had better sound quality and that was wireless for ease of movement and connectivity between all of my devices.

The Seinheiser name is something I’m familiar with in the audio world, but I would have never expected the number of great qualities there are in this pair of headphones. After trying the SteelSeries Artcis 1 with Bluetooth, the build build quality alone is a defining factor and something I’ve never experienced with other sets.

The headphones do have a wired option, but used while powered off does not give you any noise cancellation. Using Bluetooth, the headphones have great battery life, decent sound cancellation, and even support audio pass through for phone calls.

I love how it has a usb c charging port, I don’t struggle with having to think twice about plugging it in. You’d be surprised at how lightweight and mobile these headphones are, all while keeping a charge for more than a day with constant use.

It comes with a square cloth travel case for the headphones to fold into. The Bluetooth functionality can be used with any Bluetooth enabled mobile device or computer. If your computer doesn’t already have Bluetooth, pick up a usb dongle.

I’d say the sound remains clear and steady up until you get 10 feet away, then the sound delay begins to become more apparent. Cons: If you’re a pure bass lover these headphones may not be for you, in that case, wired may be to go in this price range.

An equalizer can help you boost those low frequencies but the headphones begin to clip and crackle at more extreme bass inputs. The padding on the headphones are soft, yet the ear channels are shallow.

The clamping force these headphones apply to your head can cause irritation around your ears if you’re sensitive to this. If you’re looking to add Bluetooth connectivity to you computer, I would stay away from the Insignia dongle Best Buy provides, as the installation driver isn’t provided on the manufacturers website.

These will be my next pair of headphones for a good while. They sound great, look good, are comfortable, and easy to control. My immediate impression while trying these on were that they were extremely comfortable but also felt very snug on my head.

The cushioning surrounded my ears and closed off the outside noise. As I paired them to my phone, turned them on, downloaded the app, and played some music, I was very happy with the sound. The default sound signature didn’t tailor to a heavy bass and it was also crispy clear.

I also have the option to customize the sound signature if I wanted more bass which I tried at the highest possible configuration and it definitely bumps without distortion at the right volume. The headphones do get very loud at the highest volume.

I used them mostly at 75% volume which is where I found the sweet spot for great sound and noise cancelation to completely tune out of the outside noise. The automatic pause and play feature by lifting an ear cup also worked everytime.

I did have to adjust the sensitivity to the highest it could go but it worked perfectly every time. The physical buttons to control the headphones are very clicky and are very pronounced so it’s easy to control.

I never had an issue finding the right button I was looking for or missing presses. The headphones also look awesome. They are all black with metal trim and white lettering. They do have a premium feel and look.

The battery life is exactly in competition with other similar headphones in this space and as long as the battery and software updates hold up, this will be my favorite pair and go to headphones for a long time.

Let me just start by saying that I was very happy with my in-ear headphones. until I was given these! No longer do I need to avoid sharp movements for fear of losing an airpod, or constantly readjust to achieve comfort.

These on-ear wireless headphones are supremely comfortable, lightweight and beautifully designed. The sound is rich and balanced as you would expect from such an iconic headphone brand. They feature noise reduction rather than noise cancellation, which I personally prefer, so I can still hear the doorbell, cars etc.

I often use headphones whilst in the house, listening to music or podcasts as I do my chores and have noticed I can leave my phone in the kitchen, walk upstairs and never lose connection – these seem to have better range than other wireless headphones I own.

I found the set up to be a doddle, just a matter of connecting to my phone / computer’s bluetooth upon first use, then it is stored. There is a small gold control button (possibly a bit too small?) to adjust volume, track etc which can also be used to control phone calls.

The quality of sound / microphone for calls is top notch. One of the most impressive features is the battery life. I believe they say it is 80 hours from a single charge / 15 hours for a 15 minute charge.

I genuinely forgot I needed to charge them because the ‘out of the box’ charge lasted so long! There is a USB charger in the box as well as an audio cable – but beware, I almost missed them because they are tucked into the bottom of the box.

Great for everyday use and will be top of my packing list for my next holiday (whenever that may be)!.

The Major IV headphones are a great, lightweight set of on ear headphones that represent good value for money. Build quality is good; the head band has some light padding and sit comfortably. The ear pad adjustment is exposed as opposed to some heavier weight sets where they slide into the headband.

This doesn’t make them feel any less robust and the adjustment is firm. This lightweight frame allows them to be folded up into an ok size that would easily slip into a bag. The speakers fold in but don’t rotate so they don’t quite go flat.

A pouch or bag would have been nice if like to keep your headphones scuff free; there’s enough padding and “leather” fabric to pick up nicks and scratches from keys and sharpish objects in your bag. The relatively small cushions sit on the ear and, while they don’t create the vacuum effect you feel with larger cushions that completely envelope the ear, you still get quite a good seal.

The selector button is easy to locate and has a positive click to it so you know when you have pressed it. This operates volume, play/pause, skip, and built in phone controls. Connecting to Bluetooth is straightforward, as you would expect, and phone call quality is good.

I haven’t made any calls outside yet so not sure if wind noise is an issue for the other caller. I was taken aback by the quality of the sound. For a small speaker, they produce a rounded, rich sound and there’s no distortion at the volume I’ve been listening at.

I’ve tried a few different genres – all sound great. In summary, these feel like they’re punching above their weight and, for the money, you’re getting a lot of sound for your pound!.

Great set of headphones, well presented and folds down quite small. The ear pads rest on the ear rather than go over the whole ear but this doesn’t really have a huge impact on blocking out outside noise.

The controls on the right ear are really good and easier to find than other headphones I’ve used – the knob sticks out a bit. It does volume up, down, play, pause, skip or rewind track. I love the noises they make when you turn on / connect to Bluetooth / pause etc.

– like an electric guitar strum! The battery on these is absolutely incredible, they came somewhat charged and it has lasted weeks already (obviously depends on how much you use them). Connecting via Bluetooth is really easy and more reliable than other brands.

The quality of sound is excellent – really good bass. I don’t have a wireless charging pad, but these are compatible if you do. I didn’t actually even look at the quick start guide to set it all up as it’s all really intuitive but I see you can also use the cable provided to plug in another set of headphones, and that the charging light goes from red to orange to green which is a nice touch.

You’ve also got compatibility with voice assistants, which is really handy. All in all, incredible functionality for a fairly modest price.

BEWARE: The QC45’s are so comfortable you may forget your wearing them! These are great for commuting on public transport in noisy and busy journeys and did I mention how comfortable they are? I like the smoothness of the area beneath the headband and ‘At last’ we have a usb-c charge port.

I’m also glad Bose have kept with the physical buttons. The microphones are noticeably better compared to the qc35’s. but I have been told on a couple of occasions my voice sounds shallow and hollow.

However, blocking out the background noise and isolating your voice works really well. Also, the quick charge feature is fantastic to keep you going until you are able to charge fully later! Noise cancellation sounds natural and works well with background voices but the 700’s filter out ambient noises better and are more enjoyable for better sound clarity and bass dynamics for audiophiles.

So, I much prefer the 700’s for clearer and more natural sounding music in a wider sound stage. I was able to test the qc45’s before mine arrived as two friends had purchased these and both of them have sent them back for how flat they sounded.

I genuinely hated these headphones before the EQ feature. That was before the EQ was added and I believe if the music app initially had the EQ feature, they may have kept the headphones as out of the box, the sound just doesn’t do the artist justice for the sound they intended to create.

I also, wish we had the option to completely switch noise cancellation off as some music sounds better without the noise cancellation. The only two options we have are to either have noise cancellation 100% on or ambient sound 100% on with no variation of this and both modes can take away from the music clarity.

Ambient mode can be adjusted in the 700’s and are much better at rejecting wind noise. Another feature of the 700’s that have not been included in the in the qc45’s is the conversation mode. Why has this great feature to speech clarity not been included? The sound quality is good enough with wired only but I wish you can use the headphones whilst charging.

The qc45’s is a noticeable upgrade from the qc35’s but I’m not sure if it’s worth paying the current price difference between the two. I’m also presuming the 700’s is due for an upgrade soon and may be worth waiting for if you prefer headphones for music rather than just comfort.

The qc45’s lack excitement in sound but has less clamping force to 700’s and the 45’s seem to have more cabin pressure compared to 700’s but less compared to the qc35’s. Feels like Bose are holding back on the qc45’s compared to the 700’s.

I would have appreciated a pause feature when you remove the headphones from your ears and play feature when re-worn like a certain competitor has. Also, the plastic feels less quality and less well made and the case doesn’t look and feel as premium.

The qc45’s band adjustment feels so much cleaner than the competition but the leatherette on qc35’s earcups feels so much nicer than qc45’s and earcups on the qc45’s just feels cheap. My Pros: • Most comfortable • Active noise cancellation is great • Can use ANC in wired mode • Better battery life • Can connect to two devices at the same time • USB-C charging My Cons: • Sound signature isn’t accurate for true audiophiles • Unable to turn off ANC without switching to aware mode • Feels cheap • No support for audio over USB-C • No on-ear detection sensor • Sound profile without the newly added EQ in the music app is terrible.

So I’ve had the Bose QC45’s for a little over a month now and they’re a pretty good set of headphones – got them on sale for $279 at Walmart. They look very nice and feel like they’ll last awhile on the durability end.

They’re very comfortable and lightweight (about on par with a Sony WH-1000XM3 for reference) and the noise cancellation is FANTASTIC (at least on par with Sony, perhaps even slightly better). I have a clicky mechanical keyboard and can barely hear anything when I type with the QC45 on.

Where this headset lacks is in the sound department. Bass is fine imo (though this take could vary from person to person), the overall sound quality isn’t great without an equalizer. The sound can be a bit grating/screechy with higher pitched instrumentals and vocals.

And, on top of that, the Bose Music app doesn’t even offer an equalizer to change the sound profile of the QC45. So, unless you’re subscribed to a music service with an equalizer (like Spotify Premium), you’re out of luck if you want to change the sound of these headphones – which you may need to do to enjoy listening to music that isn’t grating/screechy.

As if you should buy the QC45’s, if you’re subscribed to a music service with an equalizer, I could definitely recommend buying them at the price I paid ($279). If your preferred music service doesn’t have an equalizer, sadly I can’t recommend these in their current state unless Bose releases an equalizer on their app or changes the overall sound profile of the QC45’s with a future software update.

Wouldn’t recommend buying at the full $329 right now. TL;DR Comfort: One of the most comfortable headphones I own, on par with my Sony headphones. Noise Cancellation: At least on par with Bose’s competitors like Sony, maybe slightly better.

Sound: Decent, to get the best sound use an equalizer from a music subscription service (like Spotify Premium) or hold off on buying until Bose releases an update that either puts an equalizer in their Bose Music app or changes the sound profile of the QC45 to remove the grating/screechy high pitch sounds.

Price: A bit overpriced at $329 MSRP in their current state, the $279 sale price is fair for these headphones as they are right now, if you have access to an equalizer. Thanks for reading!.

From the initial unpacking it took only 10 minutes to start using the headphones, this included downloading the supporting Jabra App, and connecting devices. The headphones came already charged, and this initial charge lasted for well over a week whilst being used everyday.

The supporting App shows information such as battery level, headset settings, firmware updates, headset location, and tutorials. The MySound feature allows you to optimise the settings based on your personal hearing profile.

You can also use a range of presets depending if you are listening to speech, or music. During the week of reviewing the headphones I have listened to podcasts, audiobooks, and music with my iphone and ipad.

I have also connected to my laptop for Microsoft Teams meetings. You can pair multiple devices, and have a maximum of two devices Bluetooth-connected simultaneously. I found the controls on the headset very easy to use and I was very impressed by the dual microphone.

I found the phone call quality very good after adjusting the sidetone setting within the App. The microphone also works with Siri, Alexa and Cortana. They are very comfortable to wear. I like the fact that you can rotate the ear cushions through 90 degrees whilst not in use, either on a flat surface, or around your neck allowing them to sit more comfortably.

A full charge takes around two hours but a fast charge which gives 10 hours battery life takes only 15 minutes. In summary, previously I have mainly used in-ear headphones as I found the over-ear ones uncomfortable but the Jabra Elite 45h has changed my opinion and I have really enjoyed the enhanced quality of audio experienced from these headphones.

I am happy to recommend these as a good all-round performing set of headphones.

The mic is not tremendeous and doesn’t do a good job of isolating voice. I was unable to connect this headset to my Android phone (Pixel 4A, running Android 13). I was successful connecting to an iPhone SE (running iOS 15) and Dell PC running Win 10.

Now that I am unsatisfied with them, since I did not purchase them directly through Jabra and they are now open (how else am I to test them) I am stuck with them. Thesource. ca does not accept returns once the headphones are opened.

So lesson is to purchase directly through Jabra or test them in advance where possible.

Jabra Elite 45H product review These are really good headphone and I have really put them to the test. To get set up, you start by following the instructions on the box which directs you to download the free app and gives you a basic indication of the set process.

Once downloaded, the app takes you through a series of steps to get the headphone aligned to your standard of hearing. The instructions are straight forward and it is results in high quality sound. The level of hearing in my ears is not equal and so the settings allow for optimal hearing based on each ear, also you can adjust for head height and angle of ears.

The app has several other tabs you may wish to explore as you familiarise yourself with it The battery life is amazing, I gave them a little extra charge by connecting the USB to my laptop and the battery has remained high for well over a week and I have used them a lot to listen to my audiobooks.

The sound quality is excellent, the ear pads are soft and comfortable. Be warned your ears will get warm with prolonged use. The range is excellent. I went to the furthest corners of my home to check for loss of signal and there was not even a flicker.

The controls on the headphones are simple to use and you can also operate basic functions on your smartphone should you be so inclined. I like that fact that I can stop and start my book with a single button.

In closing, the Jabra Elite 45H will give you value for money, they are easy to set up to more than one device, they are so comfortable, easy to tidy away and provide you will excellent sound quality.

PROS – Excellent balanced sound – Intuitive touch controls – Stellar batter life – Crystal clear microphone on calls CONS – Headphones un-pause often while wearing around neck DESIGN + COMFORT First, the basics.

The Momentum 4s come in a hard shell carrying case. The case has an invisible zipper, giving the case a clean look. Inside the case there is a mesh pouch and elastic holders to keep the 3. 5mm headphone cable, airplane adapter, and USB-C cable tidy.

Overall, the design is attractive, but a departure from the Momentum 3s and the models before it. Gone is the metal and exaggerated features for a more modern and what I assume a more widely appealing look, however the headphones now mostly blend in a sea of similarly designed headphones.

While I won’t call it a “con” of these headphones, it’s okay to be different. That being said even with the additional plastic in this progression of the Momentum line, these are still obviously premium headphones.

The ear cups are clean and smooth to give ample space for the new touch controls. This smoothness is contrasted with a graphite-colored cloth along the outside of the headband which has a obviously dialed in head clamping force, something that Sennheiser has perfected over the years.

The foam along the inside of the headband is firm but supportive, while the ear cups is soft and comfortable allowing these headphones to be worn for hours on end. CONTROLS + PORTS Most of the controls as I mentioned are now touch on the right ear cup with the exception of a power button.

A tap will play/pause, swipe forward/back to skip/restart. The Momentum 4s have an adaptive ANC which adjusts to the environment around you, but if you have this disabled you can adjust how much of your surrounding environment is blocked out by “pinching” or “zooming” on the touch controls.

Additionally, with a quick double tap you can switch between maximum noise cancelation and full transparency mode if you are wanting to have a conversation with a person without having to raise your voice.

One issue that I did have was with the head detection feature which utilizes “wear” sensor to detect when the cups are over your ears to automatically play/pause audio. The audio sometimes un-pauses with the headphones around my neck, which can be annoying in the middle of a conversation.

I believe this is due to the clamp force causing the ear cups to touch which it then interprets as being on your head. This is definitely not a deal breaker so for now I have disabled this feature and I just play and pause manually.

Sennheiser has been issuing new firmware updates so I’ll be checking back to see if this gets fixed. APP The application is your place to tweak and enhance your Momentum 4 experience and there is quite a bit to unpack.

The obvious inclusions are the equalizer and connectivity settings when you can manage up to two simultaneously connected devices. Sennheiser even provides a “Sound Check” feature giving you a guided method to select from different samples which sounds the best and then produce its recommendation of what equalizer settings you should use.

In addition to the touch controls to select the level of noise cancelation you can adjust this through the application as well. And if you want to have certain settings in certain geographic areas, Sennheiser has you covered there too.

By creating a Sound Zone you can adjust ANC and equalizer settings when entering and leaving a location automating how your headphones work when driving or traveling from your home to your office in the mornings and afternoons.

Finally, Sidetone allows a mic monitoring like feature which passes your voice through the mic to the headphones when on a phone call, this is especially helpful to avoid something that I’m often guilty of, which is talking on the phone loudly when my headphones are on and the ANC is turned all the way up.

SOUND And how do the headphones sound? In my opinion these headphones default setting is extremely well balanced to begin with, but I finally settled on -2,-2,+2 as my EQ settings. I listen to a mix of genres from Pop, Country, Rock, and Hip-Hop and thought the Momentum 4s provided adequate thumping bass, dynamic mids and crystal clear highs for a highly immersive audio listening experience.

And on the other end the microphones sound great too! I work in an environment (data center) that has loud but pretty consistent sound and the noise canceling microphones are able to nearly eliminate the noise for the people on the side of the line to hear me clearly as well as block out the noise so that I could enjoy my music and not the buzz of computers and fans around me.

Is the ANC perfect? No, it’s very close to being on par with other brands and does a great job for 95% of peoples’ day-to-day lives. Finally, the last great thing about the Momentum 4s is the stellar battery life that lasts over 2 days (60 hours total) and blows many other competitors out of the water.

I must emphasize that the battery life is with ANC enabled, so you get a great experience the entire time you’re using the headphones without compromising. I’m usually one that forgets to charge their headphones, so this is a game changer for me as I can go a week sometimes on a single charge now.

SUMMARY Overall the Momentum 4’s while featuring a more typical design differentiate themselves in usual Sennheiser fashion with stellar sound and battery life, while introducing new intuitive touch controls and app features.

Toping that off with a great pair of microphones for phone calls and an improved ANC experience, the Momentum 4s are definitely worth your consideration if you are familiar or even new to the brand.

INITIAL THOUGHTS & SETUP: The packaging is about the most environmentally-friendly packaging I’ve ever seen. You have a package box sealed with two pieces of plastic-based “sealing discs” (this plastic is difficult to avoid, as almost all seals are still made using plastic)…and, upon removing the seals, all I found inside was the headphone case, with everything (headphones, accessories, QuickStart, etc) inside the case.

Needless to say, when it comes to packaging, I’ve never been happier. As for setup, anyone who’s ever paired a Bluetooth device won’t have any problems. Bluetooth has, essentially, become “plug & play” at this point.

At this point in time, if you can’t figure out how to pair a Bluetooth device, maybe you shouldn’t have a Bluetooth device. I say that, not to be ‘negative’, but to reenforce how incredibly-simple it is to pair Bluetooth devices.

SOUND QUALITY: I’ve had a lot…and, I DO mean a LOT…of headphones in my lifetime – those that are plugged in (standard, as well as mini, jack), and Bluetooth. When Bluetooth headphones (by ‘headphones, I mean, literally, the type that have a band crossing over the trop of your head, NOT the type that have the “speakers” sitting inside your ear) first started coming out, audiophiles said they would never rival the sound quality of traditional plug-in headphones…and, at that time, I probably would have agreed, as the sound-quality was mediocre at best.

That was approx 20 years ago…and, a LOT has changed in that time. Today, there are multiple ‘quality’ levels of headphones (and earbuds)…some (ie. the cheapest ones) are still mediocre, while others (yup, the expensive ones) that DO rival the sound-quality of plug-in headphones.

And, yes, the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless Headphones IS one of them. Honestly, I’m not sure where, exactly, to ‘place’ them in the tier of things. Are they a top-of-the-line mid-range headset…or, are they a bottom-of-the-line high-end headset? The price point they’ve been placed in positions them “on the fence” between these two tiers.

Whichever way you decide to look at it, the sound quality is absolutely amazing. For the past few years, my ‘best’ wireless headset has been from another brand also starting with the letter ‘S’ (and having 4 letters in its name)…and, I’ve always thought they sounded incredibly good.

The sound quality was great (I’d have given them a 7-8 out of 10 (especially if a ‘10’ would have been what would have been expected from an equally-priced plug-in headset)), and the noise-cancellation was well-above par (I’d give the noise-cancellation an 8 out of 10).

Moving over to the new Momentum 4 headphones, I’d say they EASILY deserve an 8…and, possibly, a 9…out of 10. Simply put, they sound MUCH better than that ‘S’-brand pair of headphones. Taking things one step further (ie.

something you CAN’T do with that other headphone), Sennheiser has an app called “Smart Control” that not only allows users to customize the sound through equalization, and “sound modes”…but, even better, allows you to completely tailor the sound to your particular liking by asking you, multiple times, to select (between three choices) “which sounds better”.

Through this process, the app ‘programs’ the headphones to your preferred “tonality”…and, it stays there, even when not using the app. ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS: So, you’d think all is 100% good with these headphones…and, unfortunately, you’d be wrong.

Out of the box, the noise Cancelation didn’t work AT ALL. Between “transparent” and full “ANC”, there are 6 levels…and, even at full “ANC”, outside sounds could still easily be hears. Even after installing the first ‘Firmware Update’, the noise cancelation still didn’t work.

Talk about a HUGE “disappointment”…ESPECIALLY for headphones costing as much as these do. Speaking of firmware updates, yes, the Momentum 4 headphones WILL (from time-to-time) have firmware updates…although, how frequently, I cannot say.

As I type this review (approx two weeks after receiving the Momentum 4 headphones), the headphones are going through a second firmware update. As soon as the update is complete, I will test the noise cancelation again, and type the results below.

In the meantime, while I wait, let me mention something about the installation process of the firmware updates. Unlike many other devices, you CAN use the Momentum 4 headphones during the install process (except, for what should be obvious reasons, when the firmware update is finalizing, as it has to ‘reboot’ the headphones)…but, in doing so, take note that this DOES slow down the update process.

The update process “claims” the update will take ’21 minutes’. When I installed the first update, I was simultaneously using the headphones (while watching an episode of Marvel’s “Defender” series), and that ’21 minute’ process actually took almost 45 minutes.

As for how long it takes when the headphones are not actually being used, that took (pausing typing until update is complete) POST (2nd) FIRMWARE UPDATE: first, with the headphones not being used, that ‘21minute’ update actually took about 15-16 minutes…or, essentially, half the amount of time it took when the headphones were being used.

Second, I can confirm that, with the second firmware update installed, the noise cancelation IS working…and, it’s fantastic. I have the washing machine going, and, with it on full “ANC”, hearing the washing machine is almost impossible…exactly the way it should be.

Even in “tapping” a cardboard box only a foot away, I can barely hear it. I don’t know if the noise cancelation was finally “activated” through this most recent update, or if there was some sort of ‘glitch’ in my headphones, which was ‘corrected’ by the latest update…but, whatever the case might be, I don’t care.

As long as it’s now working, that’s all I care about. CONCLUSION: I’ll admit, I was initially going to only give the Momentum 4 headphones a 4-star rating. While the sound was incredible, and the battery life was excellent, the fact that the noise cancelation wasn’t working was not only a disappointment, but also lessened my overall opinion of the headphones.

However, now that the noise cancelation works, I can ‘return’ that fifth star. I don’t think I need to state, in my review, whether, or not, I would ‘recommend’ the Momentum 4 headphones…and answer SHOULD be obvious.

TL;DR: This headset is good, but they are expensive for what they are. Very neutral Sound, sound isolation is great to excellent in perfect conditions. They are light weight, which I quite like and the build quality seems good, although I have not dropped them yet.

Usability and user experience is REALLY BAD. There are NO buttons, except for one useless one and the only useful button is a switch, but it’s TINY. The charging port for some stupid reason is not USB-C, instead it’s micro-USB, which is beyond dumb.

I expected more in this price bracket. The touch controls are intermittent and when you do get your finger to register, sometimes it does the wrong thing. You have to be VERY deliberate about what you want to do and hit the correct spot, or nothing happens.

Double tapping the damn ear cup trying to turn on talkthrough makes you look dumb while someone is trying to talk to you. This means I’m often just lifting the ear cup of my ear anyway. I’ve only ever managed to turn talkthrough once while my podcast was playing and I’m pretty sure that’s because I glitched it out.

The touch pad also registers on EVERYTHING. Lord forbid you lean your head on to your right shoulder, because it will pause your music, max out your volume and deafen you when you unpause it. Sound isolation is as good as any.

Unless you are wearing a hat, have a funny shaped head or a lot of hair. ANC is about 30-50% less effective when trying to use this headset with headgear on. The cups have a limited tilt before they bottom out and the seal breaks around the bottom or top of your ear.

The headband demands direct access to the circumference of your skull. The British voice over lady telling me what I’m connected to tells me every device I have is “Phone one”, even when it’s a TV or a PC.

She also takes forever to tell me anything, interrupting what I am listening to for longer than is needed. The ON/OFF switch is not a button. Nope, for some reason Sennheiser was anti-buttons (except for a totally and utterly useless voice assistant button) and you have to twist the right ear cup to turn them off.

So I can’t sit them nicely on a table ready for me to pick up and put on. I have to first unbuckle my headset being careful not to twist them the wrong way and only then can I put them on. So far I have not been able to get the advertised 20 hours of battery life, even when ANC is off (I almost never use ANC).

Speaking of ANC, the switch to enable it is a physical switch. They dedicated 90% of the left ear cup to a touch bad for gestures, so instead of making a gesture, you have to use the switch. I actually prefer this.

The only problem is, the switch is 1/5th the size of my pinky finger nail. I had to come up with a strategy to find it while the headset was on my head to avoid using the touch pad trying to find it.

This headset sounds just good enough to stop me from listing them for sale because the money I’d lose outweighs the general dissapointment I foster in the headsets usability. It would have been perfect if the ANC switch had an ANC + Talkthrough setting to make it always on regardless of what my phone was doing.

It would have been even more perfect if they replaced the dumb touch pad for three regular buttons. One for play pause and pair and two for volume up/down, forward/backward and skip. Buyers beware.

My first online order which was delivered (wgtn-ak) same day! The phones were ridiculously cheap thanks to Black Friday, and as my ears are normal they won’t take buds (boo sucks to you apple). I’m not big on headphones, the whole ear-squishy thing but these are soft, gentle, and cushioned as if you’ve just shaved your body and gone for your first swim (which I have done (for a play (do NOT have a beer before the de-hairing session as alcohol heightens your reception of pain))).

The sound is glorious from AC/DC to Satie, from Headless Chickens to Shihad, from naughtywhispersinyourear. com to gottenmyclochenisloud. com. And the add ons! just drag a finger right up the outside right ear phone and your volume goes up; tap to pause and then again to start; immediate Bluetooth connection making it the bluest of teeth-type connections.

Turn the earpieces forward and it powers down, click them back into place it powers up. Troglydites come down from that cave roof and find a new god. God these (and by association @PBTech #PBTech) are aweseomness-ness.

PS two days later a friend was asking for recommendations for headphones, needless to say she now has a pair from PBTECH!!.

I got this for my wife and she loved them. They are really good for watching movies and series. I did a little bit of gaming with this and it is amazing when there are explosions going on, not good for competitive fps but good for immersion.

The ANC functionality was also good, it does block noise enough for you to enjoy your music at low volume but not enough when nothing is playing on them. I’ve tried a few ANC headphones like Sony XM4’s, Bose QC 35II, Bose 700 and AirPods Max and AirPods Pro.

I use HD598 and BLON BL-03 daily for comparison, and I found the PXC 550 II really good for vocals and acoustic instruments. The low end is not as punchy but it helps keep the clarity of the music. You will never feel like the music is drowning because of the bass.

Soundstage is not wide at all. You can use the 2. 5mm to 3. 5 mm cable but I would suggest you use the DAC from the headphones. I tried it using it with my portable desktop amp but they didn’t sound as good as when I was using them on Bluetooth or the USB cable it comes with.

Bluetooth has been working just fine for me by the way. The construction is really good in my opinion, At $200 compared to other ANC headphones I think it feels solid and sleek. I recommend them at this price, I do like the Bose 700 and AirPods Max better as ANC headphones but those are not $200.

Sony has done it yet again; they’ve actually improved upon what I feel are the BEST noise cancelling wireless over-ear headphones available! The WH-1000XM5 Wireless Noise Canceling Over-the-Ear Headphones are the newly released version from Sony and they have added even more user-friendly features and technology than the previous versions…and updated the look to a more modern design.

What’s in the box – The headphones ship with a great zippered carrying case, a USB-C fast charging cable, an audio cable for wired connection and instructions/paperwork/360 Music offer. The headphones fold much easier compared to the previous versions.

There is no more origami-like folding, just turn the ear cups and put them in the case…which is a good size for traveling. They fit perfectly in the outside pocket of my backpack. The earphones were fully charged out of the box, so all that’s needed to get started (optional really, as they headphones will connect to your Bluetooth device anyway) is download the Sony Headphones Connect app and set up the earphones.

There was a software update available for the headphones and it updated once they were connected. Fit and Function – The first thing I noticed was the new sleeker, more modern looking and lighter design of the XM5s.

Although the design has changed, the comfort level is as plush and comfortable as ever. The ear cups and headband are super plush and easy to adjust to your head size. I’ve been wearing them almost non-stop for the last couple of days and there are no hotspots or uncomfortable rubbing.

Hold the power button for a couple of seconds and then the magic starts, the noise canceling technology is fantastic, literally cutting out all the background noise as I mowed the lawn, went running or just listening to music while working around the house (my wife texts me as I can’t hear her!).

With the Auto Switching Based on Action, the noise cancelling level adjusts to your activity and the outside noise. Sound Quality – The sound quality is the BEST I’ve ever heard from Bluetooth NC headphones.

Straight out of the box these things rock, but the Headphone Connect app gives the user the ability to set custom preferences for sound and services. From a noise canceling perspective Sony touts 8 total microphones and a newly designed 30mm driver to provide optimized noise canceling performance.

So the 1000XM5s provide industry leading noise canceling and music that is so crisp and clear on the highs and the bass is rich and deep. Quality sound as expected from Sony! Headphone Connect App – it’s a great tool for taking advantage of the many settings these headphones provide like Adaptive Sound Control, Noise Canceling Optimizer, Surround, Equalizer, Sound Quality Mode, Voice Assist, etc.

Open the app, turn on the headphones and hold them close to connect and you’re ready to customize the earphones. The app is broken into four sections: Status, Sound. System and Services. Some of the functions are automatic like the Adaptive Sound Control – this will detect your surroundings and adjust the headphones accordingly.

You can also select the Noise Canceling levels. The System tab is all about the operational settings like Auto Power Off, Touch Sensors, etc. Super easy to use and a great tool that’s very well laid out for the user.

Cool (and totally useful) Functions – Not only do these headphones rock, they are loaded with super cool and totally useful Touch Features so you can adjust the music level, FF, Pause, answer phone calls, etc.

by simply touching the right ear cup. And if that isn’t enough, Sony has upped the game by adding Speak-To-Chat which stops the music and let’s in ambient sound so you can hold a conversation without having to take the earphones off or cover the right earphone (which still works) as the previous version supported.

The other new function that really stands out to me is the Automatic Off (Wearing Detection) feature. By simply taking the headphones off, music is instantly paused until they are put back on…then the music instantly starts up again automatically.

Not sure how Sony will add more features to these headphones in the future…but I’m sure they will do something amazing! Phone Calls – Sound is great both on the speaker and headphone sides. No complaints from anyone I’ve talked to on the headphones.

Your music will start right back up once the call is ended. Totally hands free and couldn’t be any easier to use! Battery Life – As mentioned, they came fully charged and after multiple days of use, they are still at 60%.

this absolutely crushes the battery performance of my other NC headphones. And on top of that, there’s a quick charge feature that adds 3 hours of charge in just 3 minutes. Worrying about battery life is completely off the table based on my experience to date.

Overall, this is a VERY worthy choice, one of the best three on the market for consumer use (calls, general listening, noise cancellation). Not up to reference level listening, though, and the battery life is fairly weak compared to competition, so be prepared for that.

Otherwise, they are well worth the purchase price and will perform superbly for most people. Compared to the Airpods Max, and the Sony WH10004, it is VERY similar. In the middle of the three for sound, more stable BT connection than the Sony, cheaper and likely more reliable than the APM, and with comparable NC and transparency modes, but it is the weakest of the three for battery life by a fair amount, getting 4-6 less hours rated, but more like 8 less under actual use.

PROS: -Excellent sound at this price point (subjective – some find them too bright) -Very stable BT connection even against strong interference -Very solid call quality and voice isolation -Very light and comfortable -Fairly solid construction SO-SO: -The app that controls features is still somewhat lacking -Not too feature dense -Relatively limited touch panel capability -MUCH more comfortable Noise Cancellation than the QC35 series, but the major competitors’ NC is just as effective – which is still excellent, I just wouldn’t use this as a decision point except against less capable headphones.

-Price is similar to major competitors (other than the Airpods Max, which are much more expensive) CONS: -Weak battery life against competitors! – rated for 18 hours from full charge, but will rarely get much more than 12 under normal use.

Although they charge quickly, this could be a significant detractor for some users, especially those who intend to use them away from home a lot where charging may not be readily available.

I absolutely love these headphones which totally proves to me you get what you pay for. I got these as cyber Monday deal 2 years ago, I was happy to be able to get them for $100 off. Not only are these great for listening to music but these are also awesome for talking on the phone.

The noise canceling technology also transfers to background noise that is removed when talking to others on the phone, so these are also perfect for any home office. The caller on the other end will not be able to hear any background noise on your end as well.

These have the sound quality that one would expect from Bose. These are also very comfortable to wear and can be paired to your TV for perfect enjoyment without disturbing others. These can also be used with Alexa, Siri, or Google Assist with the touch of a button.

It also has buttons for Bluetooth pairing and noise canceling presets. Touch technology on the right ear cup can be used to answer calls, volume control, skip ahead or back. A definite good buy for anyone who loves excellent sound quality paired with comfort and ease of use.

These are very sleek and have a good quality feel to them. Compatible with Dolby Atmos so this can be used for the current maximum sound quality available, for a perfect immersion sound quality experience.

A strong recommend if someone wants to pay extra for awesome quality. Comes with a durable zipper case which also stores the included charging and wired cables. I have only used these in Bluetooth connection mode but I would assume these would sound just as good wired.

I had a pair of Bose wireless headphones for several years that I used for work and travel. I LOVED them and replaces the earcups when they started falling apart. I noticed a few months ago they were having issues staying connected to my laptop which got really annoying when in virtual meetings.

I went to replace them with the current “45” version and the salesperson talked me into upgrading to 700s instead. I wish I would have just got the 45 as I intended. The sound on these is good but not great.

I honestly think my old ones had better quality. The volume slide usually works, but sometimes I don’t get my finger in the right spot, and it takes a moment to adjust. The noise cancelling seems to be better than my old ones but can’t compare to the 45s.

What I don’t like about the 700s is the fit. The ear cups don’t feel as comfortable as my old ones, but this may be the trade-off for the improved noise canceling. I also don’t like how the band over the head is kind of slippery and, on occasion has slid off the back of my head if I didn’t position perfectly.

Also, I’ve had a few colleague mention in meetings that the sound isn’t great where I either sound distant or cut in and out. I use these while at my desk about 1. 5 feet from my laptop, and I’m not moving around, so this shouldn’t be an issue.

Unfortunately, I bought these at Best Buy and cannot return them. Lesson learned. Hopefully it’s a software issue on my laptop and will be fixed when I upgrade my laptop in a few weeks, otherwise these headphones are a bust for me.

Here is the bottom line. I have owned Air Pods 1’s and Air Pods 2’s. I like a non ear-sealing headphone to here’s what is going on around me. So, I bought the new Air Pod 3’s the week the came out. I’m a big music guy and always hav had great audio equipment.

So from a listening to music standpoint, my first was impression was “yeah they sound better, but they are centrally not the audio quality and that my Bose Quite Comfort NC Ear Buds Deliver The Bose Buds still reign “king” on top of music listening category.

But, then I paired The Air Pod 3’s with my Apple TV 4K and “the gods descended from the heavens”. For quality movies and TV shows the have Dolby Atmos sound and other quality format surround sound encoding, these new Apple Air Pods are spectacular, amazing, unbelievable and show stopping.

This “Spacial Audio” thing is a total game changer. I have an 8 speaker system and a Dolby Atmos AV Receiver that sounds great, but when I am watching serious content these $179 earbuds send much better and create a much more interesting sound field.

The fact that the Air Pods maintain the direction of sounds when you tour you head from side to side is mind blowing. A lot of new music releases are being mixed in this new Spacial Audio format too, but the effect is much dramatic when viewing Movies and TV shows that are using Dolby Atmos Sound.

If you have an Apple TV 4K get ready to be amazed. The integration is great too, where you can now pair several pairs of Air Pods, so too people can listen to the same content. If you take the Air Pods out of your ears it stops the content.

If you put you Air Pods back in there case, you speakers come on. So you don’t have to fiddle around to get you Apple TV to start sending audio to the Air Pods. You just put them in their ears and your speakers shut off.

Even shows like HBO Succession, just light up when you use these Air Pod 3’s. If you have an Apple TV, pier them up and prepare to be amazed.

Most Bluetooth earphones at this price point are just selling their brand name and not functional features that are actually worth the price. The last few years I’ve been buying mpow bluetooth headphones of which I switch between two so while one is charging the other I am using.

Now that I broke down and purchased the new AirPod pros I am spoiled to what good sound, noise cancelling, spatial audio and connection can do for a person. I absolutely love being able to put these in my ears and being auto connected in a split second.

The spatial audio is awesome when watching movies and tv, as well as the noise canceling feature. It’s so nice to be able to drown out my kids when they’re watching tv or just being loud and rambunctious.

Did I mention that if while I’m working around the house or just sitting and watching a show that when my headphone pops out for some reason(doesn’t happen often and it’s usually user error) that my show or music stops instantly and it turns back on when I pop it back in my ear.

Battery life is ok, could be better. I can use them on full blast, noise cancellation the whole time ans they last for about a 3hr charge. I wish they lasted longer but I will say that they charge so quick.

They were at 10% when I popped them back in their case and an hour later they were at full charge. They could have been at full charge before the hour, I just didn’t check. They are so easy to use that I could give them to my tech challenged 75yo mother and I’m pretty sure she’d have no issue using them.

Granted I’m not an audiophile and don’t hear little nuances in sound when I listen to headphones/earphones so I don’t know how perfect these actually are but for someone who just enjoys watching shows and listening to podcasts or music then I have to say I love these airpods, they work, pretty much, flawlessly.

Sound quality is good and I love the redesign of functions – no more tapping on the earbud, now we can click them by pinching the stem. Connectivity is better, battery life is great & I have no complaints about how they work.

That said, the fit is horrible. I’d give it 1 star — I actually found them a bit painful after extended use when I first upgraded. Thankfully, that has worn off. —The part that rests in the ear is too large & does not want to stay put.

They fall out of my ears several times a day, and I readjust them frequently to prevent additional escape attempts. I am 5’ 5” and on the “dainty” side, but my 6’ tall partner agrees that the fit is much worse than the previous generation.

This has been my experience during a relatively chill period of life (literally, it’s winter) that has not seen much rigorous activity. I am not sure whether I will be able to use these once the weather warms up and I’m back to yard work & other more active outdoor pastimes.

I don’t foresee them staying in my ears when I’m moving much more since they have issues already when I’m mostly just walking around inside the house. The bulbous nature of the ear piece not only negatively impacted the fit, it also makes them top heavy/harder to put back in their case.

This is doubly unfortunate since I have to put them in their case more often — any time I the charging case or it falls off our couch/nightstand, the AirPods pop out of the case and launch themselves bouncing across our hardwood floors.

This is WITH a silicone protective case on the charging case. Not once did I encounter that issue with the previous generation despite dropping that one much more frequently than I’d care to admit. All in all, they are an improvement upon previous generations, but they desperately need a redesign on the fit.

If you have extra large ears, they might fit & you’ll have no issues. For me, the functions are great but the form needs significant overhaul.

This is my first pair of Sony headphones and first pair from the XM series. Having upgraded from AKG Y50BT headphones, the quality difference is impossible to describe. The XM3s have a punchy but not overbearing bass, the mids are clear and the highs are crisp.

These are closer to neutral sound so if you are into ear-piercing bass, this is not for you though you can fine tune it using EQ. The overall balance is just where i would like it to be and if i want to tune anything, there is the Android app.

Noise cancellation is excellent though i find it does a much better job neutralising lower frequencies. Think of an engine of a passing bus, or a construction site, doors being open and shut. However, it is less good with voices.

It does drown them out but i can still hear what is being said, just about. Still, overall, it does good enough job that you don’t notice them after a while. Now for my ‘nice to have’. These headphones cannot be fully driven on passive power.

Yes, you can use the included cable to connect the headphones to, say you PC, but the sound quality is worse, the sound somewhat muffled and the overall enjoyment lower. Now, keep them connected and turn them ON, oh and you are up for a treat.

I use them when using my PC and just keep them on and connect to Bluetooth as i leave. I use them EVERYWHERE! The battery seems to last longer when using with my PC even when on because I think part of the power is delivered via the cable.

Still, it is a small price to pay for what you are getting. Where i think they do need more work are the hinges. Mine were creaking a fair amount on the right said when i just got them. Walking down the street, inevitably you will put your foot down.

That is how walking works. That slight movement by the headphones as you walk caused the hinges to creak. Same with chewing or anything that would put some pressure on the hinges. The headphones seem to have worn in now so that is something to be happy about.

Still, do not be surprised if you face this in the first days of wearing them, though it should subside and eventually go away.

Sony have asked me to review these while they are looking over my pair that I’ve had for a little over 6 months which are currently having an issue with low volume in one of the earbuds. I’d include a few pictures but I’ve not seen my earphones for a few weeks now and am told there is a delay in getting my earphones fixed.

The build quality is okay but not great for the price, I think the overall build could be better really. They are quite plasticky which makes them light but they feel as if they could be broken quite easily too sadly.

A massive pro though is the fit and in particular the foam ear tips. Together, they are very comfortable and create a good, passive seal. I can happily wear these for extended periods without any issues really.

As for sound quality, I am happy overall. For the money you can definitely get better but I think you are paying for the compact, wireless design and features like ANC and ambient sound which in loud environments can make listening to audio through these much easier.

I think it is worth mentioning that these come with LDAC which I have found to massively improve audio quality when connected to my phone – it seems to have pretty good latency too. I would say these are detailed enough and can have an EQ applied using the Sony app to better tailor them to your taste but these ultimately feel like they offer good enough clarity across the board but lack in sound stage, especially when compared to even some budget IEMs.

I feel like the ANC and ambient sound deserve a bit of attention on their own. They are definitely an improvement over the previous model and I would say I prefer them to what some of the competitors offer.

The ANC is quite subtle for me, I feel as though I get most of the benefit passively with how good the fit and the ear tips are anyway. The ANC definitely drowns out some background noise but not all in certain settings, it preforms best with low noises like the hum of an engine but leaves a bit to be desired even what cranked all the way up.

The ambient noise mode is the stand out feature for me – extremely clear and can be adjusted to let more or less outside noise in. Very handy to just use the passive noise isolation and then let some noise in this way and compared to the competition the noise that is let in sounds less artificial to me.

Overall I think these are great but then you really expect that for the price they go for. I’ve tried a few flagship wireless earphones now and settled on these as my favourites. I can definitely recommend them assuming money is no object as I do think they are a bit expensive for what they are and I am a bit concerned about their longevity due to the build quality.

The sort of person that will enjoy these will want good audio quality but also want a convenient design with a solid feature set and likely, they are a jack of all trades and do many things well but don’t really master much overall.

I bought these after having a pair of the over-the-ear WH1000XM2 and was initially a little disappointed because of the leakage. The buds really do need to fit well, which requires rotating the body over towards the back after inserting them.

They sounded a little flat at first and I opted for a slightly brighter preset, which sounded great at first but were a little fatiguing so I went back to the flat setting and they sound much more natural.

They may have needed a little burning in. The app has some features that I have dabbled with, such as sensing your activity but it isn’t so good for activities such as cycling because it constantly switches modes when not peddling.

There is a useful wind noise reduction setting because these really do pick up wind noise when walking fast, running or cycling. The best feature is the focus on voice feature, which for me is a blessing.

My autism makes some venues and surroundings quite distressing but the focus on voice feature allows me to communicate a little better in most environments and I can activate it by talking. They are also far less conspicuous than the over-the-ear versions.

They are different though and present the music differently but these are far better for outdoors and traveling in terms of convenience. It is also handy that the case acts as a battery and tops up the charge on the earphones and the app will tell you the charge of each bud and the case.

When inserting them the battery level for each bud is spoken. The control features aren’t quite as good as the bigger ones because there is no room to have swipe gestures. There are only up to three taps and a long press, and you have to choose a preset for each bud, which means I can no longer change the volume as I use the skip control instead.

I tried the Google assistant but couldn’t get it to work and the auto backup setting doesn’t seem to work either but I’m not keen on these features anyway. For me the fidelity and convenience are far more important and now I can take my music to many more places and while doing other things.

Before my journey with these, I’d mainly use my Focal headphones at my desktop PC or my Campfire Audio IEMs when not at my desk, but with being driven crazy after all this time WFH and makeshift + shared office space, I knew I needed a TWS headphone w/ ANC.

Fortunately for me, when I’d finally decided I was going to buy a pair, this model had debuted and I went in store and bought it at day 1 MSRP. It was and still is apparent that its technical capabilities, sound signature and other ‘audiophile’-relevant attributes fall just a bit short of my regularly driven headphones on these many fronts.

But, I realized given how much convenience was provided to me. at $280, and at what is effectively minor losses on these various aspects, I was elated with my initial trial period. After several months, I’m still very happy with them, especially since how sublime its UX has been – seamlessly switching ANC to Ambient noise profiles, and simple, yet surprisingly robust Android companion application.

The only issue is their terrible mic’s call quality for voice on any platform, on any device. I’m clueless on how their ambient sound is even any good. I just make sure I’m at my desktop for any actual significant work meetings.

As far as sound quality itself, I feel like there is definitely unit variation because I feel that my unit has been more balanced than headphones’ YT or crinacle’s written reviews have made it out to be, but for the rest of its attributes, I find that their described characteristics during their reviews have been quite spot on.

The only thing is, from a view-point of these IEMs as an audiophile lifestyle product, they have been incredible. At this point, I even use them more than my actual ‘audiophile’ headphones, but I’d probably blame my work life balance for that, however, for any of my own friends & family, I’d say they are far more than good enough.

I wish I could include an actual TWS comparison, especially since I also recently just acquired the acclaimed AKG N400 on sale for an insane $48. But I haven’t gotten around to even opening them and I want my 25 BB reward pts now.

If youre looking for over the ears Noise Cancelling Headphones at a reasonable price there are 3 top performers without breaking the bank. Ive owned all of the Sennheiser Momentums, the first offering, the M2 AEBT which I still own, and now the 3s. The first two generations were very similar, identical in features but better sound quality with the M2 series.

The biggest issue with the first two generations was a lack of bass depth, good crisp bass but not as full as the new 3s which makes them a good competitor with the WH-1000XM3s. Another plus with the Momentum 3 is the earcup controls, theyve added 3 more controls, Up & Down Volume buttons, and a Dedicated Control for the Noise Cancelling Features which can make your headphones like an open ear headset as well as three NCF modes.

If you are upgrading from either of the other two versions it takes a little bit to get use to the extra controls but once you do, youll probably like them even more. The NCF is well improved over the previous versions and its really nice having more control over modes you listen in.

With the Smart Control APP you can easily switch NCF modes from, MAX Noise Cancelling, Wind Cancelling, and Pressure Cancelling. I us my headphones when bicycling so the Wind feature is huge, with my old M1s this was a problem.

As to the APP I also really like that you can take advantage of either using a 360 deg control of their parabolic EQ or you can use the normal linear EQ. Also with the APP installed you can update your firmware too its well worth using this very clean easy to use APP from Sennheiser.

One down-side to GEN 3 is they are heavier due to the larger drivers which makes them less comfortable then the previous versions, they are still very comfortable after they get broken in, soften up some.

I see a noticeable improvement compared to the Momentum & Momentum M2 and I dont regret purchasing the new Momentum 3s, well worth every penny it costs. On sale you can get both Sony and Bose cheaper than the Sennheisers and if you are on a budget that makes the Momentums a tough choice.

Fortunately, either the Sony or the Bose should make you happy, if I didnt get the Momentums Id go with the WH-1000XM3s.

(Inglês) The main problem is that there is a strange noise. This can be heard if you are in a quiet room and you stop / pause the music or YouTube playback, then there are strange noises for a second or two.

It starts to get on your nerves after a while. I have read on the internet that it is a well-known problem with these headphones, and Sennheiser has known about it for several years. I have never had this problem with cheap Chinese headphones.

It is completely unacceptable in a pair of headphones at this price-level. I have e-mailed Sennheiser and hope they will make a firmware update to fix this problem, but I am not sure they will do it, because they are now coming out with a new model.

Or maybe it is a hardware problem that cannot be fixed with a firmware update. Furthermore, the buttons are poorly designed on these headphones, and the stereo-cable is a tiny flimsy cable with a proprietary connector, so you cannot use standard stereo-cables if you don’t want to use the BlueTooth connection.

Overall I am very disappointed with these headphones and will not buy a Sennheiser product again.

I am so pleased I bought these. They have been an eye opener! I owned the Sennheiser Momentum 2’s and really appreciated their comfort and Sennheiser build quality with the deep cushioned leather ear cups and headband.

But the sound was ordinary. Needing an upgrade I was tempted by the excellent reviews Sennheisers rivals were receiving. But I also saw some great reports on the new Momentum 3’s. I reasoned if I could get the Sennheiser build quality and comfort with better sound and noise reduction that would be great.

So I bought the Momentum 3’s. I am so glad I did. Sound quality is excellent. Rich with good bass and great instrument separation. I have some very good headphones and these compare very well. I am continually surprised just how good they are.

As well, the noise reduction means I can sit listening in my living room whilst family are watching TV. I am now looking forward to train and air travel. I love other features ie how they pause, then recommence when taken off and on.

Great when you’re talking to people. Out of all my audio equipment from Richer Sounds these are probably the best value items I have bought. Highly recommended!.

The product is a pair of black headphones with a power/ Bluetooth switch on the right side of the headphones. Also on the right side, is the volume and pause/play button. The purpose of this product is to play music or audio with great sound performance.

My personal experience with the product was amazing. I have had this product for about a year and a half now. I feel like the sound quality offers more compared to Beats headphones and AirPods. My reason for saying this is because with Beats by Dre you feel every beat drop and with AirPods, the quality isn’t bad but in my opinion, it needs more work.

Personally, I don’t really have that many cons of this product but, a couple of pros and cons are that yes they are noise-canceling so if you don’t like hearing outside sounds when listening to music then this product is for you but if you like be aware of your surroundings this product isn’t for you.

Great sound quality compared to other headphones like Beats by Dre and Skullcandy, I found this product offering better sound performance. A helpful pro is that the headphones can fold which makes it easier for me to store them in my bookbag when I am traveling.

A big con that I have about this product is that the padding for the ears did kept coming off, so I had to replace them a couple of times. For the overall product, it is accurate compared to the product description.

My overall impression of the product is that I would give it a 9/10 only because of the padding part. I would definitely recommend this product to another customer. If I had enough money I would buy another pair for just work and keep my other one just for at home.

Everyone hears differently but to my ears, once I found the EQ setting i liked, these headphones became the best sounding wireless headphones I’ve tried, by a wide margin! Everything sounds so good, every genre I’ve tried.

it all sounds so awesome I don’t want to take them off! And this is compared to a large number of name brands I’ve tried over the last year and a half or so. I’ve tried Bang & Olufsen, Bowers & Wilkins, Sennheiser, Sony, AirPods Max and more, and these have the best sound, balanced, good bass that doesn’t overwhelm the mids or highs, highs that are pleasant and not harsh or shrill.

now, the noise cancelling isn’t the best, it’s adequate but the most important thing about that is that it doesn’t change the sound even on the “Max” setting, and I hear no hiss with the noise cancelling activated.

Battery life is as advertised and the headphones charge relatively quickly. I would like to have seen wear sensors, sure, but they aren’t necessary by any means and I’ve experienced wear sensors that are hit or miss on other headphones so really I don’t miss it very much.

These headphones are comfortable for me, no issues, I could see some being bothered by the headband not having enough padding, but again, I haven’t experienced discomfort when listening for extended periods.

They do support multi point connections (despite what I’ve read elsewhere) but it is a little touchy and will switch to the other device at any sound, even a notification beep will cause them to switch over to the second device, but then they switch back.

Hopefully this can be addressed in a future update! Also the carry case is nice, faux leather finish, high quality. The headphones fold down to fit and is much smaller and more portable than the previous Aonic 50’s were.

I’ve owned the Shure Aonic 50 for about a week as I write this review, and right off the bat, I was impressed with how crisp and clear they sounded. Compared with ATH-M50x BT headsets which I also own, the bass is not as prominent and the overall sound gels in well with the kind of music that I listen to.

Some observations:- – The multipoint connection setup works great, I’ve been using my headsets with my phone and Windows laptop simultaneously without any issues. While connecting it with a laptop running Linux, however, the setup is a little laborious.

The connection switched back to my phone every time I got a notification, and I had to manually twiddle around with the settings to get my headsets back to streaming audio from my laptop. – ANC is meh at best.

The audio quality suffers noticeably whilst using ANC at its max setting, and the noise isolation offered is not good enough to mute anything louder than an AC/fan in the room. – The inbuilt microphone works quite well.

I’ve been taking calls all week with my headsets on with no complaints from the other end, even whilst strolling near a fairly busy road. The performance of the mic suffers a bit when pairing it with my laptop running Linux, but I suspect that’s because of the audio driver settings and not the headphones – The battery life is a little underwhelming, I was used to charging my ATH M50x BTs every few days, whereas these require charging every day and a half.

On the plus side, they charge up pretty quickly and you can listen to audio via USB too. – The carrying case is huge, but not unmanageable. The headphones are a little uncomfortable to hang around your neck whilst not in use, as the cups don’t swivel outwards (like the ATH-M50x BTs).

Overall, I am quite pleased with my purchase, with the audio and mic quality, the build, and the Shure EQ app being the positives and the underwhelming ANC/battery life as drawbacks.

These headphones are very comfortable, have an excellent sound profile, good noise cancellation, and high-fidelity codex support that take full advantage of the hardware even over bluetooth. The one glaring issue with these headphones is the build quality over time.

I bought a pair of these 6 months ago, and the padding on the headband and earpads has already started to peel off; instead of stitching, the leather is glued and friction-fit into the plastic. The clamping force is also noticeably weaker than at purchase time.

I have since sent the headphones in for a warranty claim, but this is wear that I expect to see after years, not months, and even after a warranty exchange the pleather will still be glued, not stitched.

I have seen multiple other users voice the same complaint so this is clearly not a one-off issue. All that being said, the sound quality of these headphones is still as good as you can get from a wireless set, and I would highly appreciate a Rev 2.

Unfortunately, I had to exchange this for a far more expensive Sony WH1000XM5. The sound quality, features and aesthetic of the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 3 is outstanding, not to mention the best value for the price @ $250 when I bought it, compared to Sony and Bose.

The noise cancelling literally took away loud construction noise from next door and other loud ambient noises. The quality is that of studio headphones, with no “enhancements” like chirpy Bose does with mid-range.

The clarity from these headphones connected to my Sony Master Series TV enabled sounds that I had not heard, taking movie watching and music to another level. The channel separation is a great revelation – even the App tiles on Apple TV on the left and right side were separated between the cups! Also, even a seasoned listener of classical music will be pleased with the honesty of the fidelity, true to source as any headphones can be.

This, for the brief while I owned it was The One Headphone to Rule Them All – my TV, Pixel 5a and Computer, it connects all without a hitch. It has superb features like auto pause and auto connect when Bluetooth is enabled.

The build quality is superior – finished, tough German engineering. However, I could not wear it for over 30 minutes at a stretch; it clamped down hard on my ears, and began to feel uncomfortable in less than 20 minutes.

It could be because of my glasses, but my ears started to hurt in 20 minutes. Any potential buyer should try this on for comfort first; I could not reduce the pressure and discomfort even after adjusting the earpieces for varying looseness.

It is unfortunate that I had to return these quality, tough headphones for a lightweight, overpriced Sony. I still cannot take away a single star from this product, my discomfort while wearing these is not a universal experience.

To start with here are my priorities for a new set of cans: 1 Sonic quality 2 Durability 3 On Sale I’ve been listening to AT-M50 and JBL E65BTNC headphones for years. The ATs are excellent for front of house engineers as they are efficient and full range.

They have held up well. The JBLs on the other hand sound good but are falling apart. Hence I purchased Sennheiser Momentum headphones to replace the JBLs. My thought was stainless steel and genuine stitched lamb’s skin will last longer than plastic and glued imitation leather.

The bonus is Momentums sound better than either of the other two headphones understanding that I am looking for sonic accuracy. The bass is very articulate not mushy, the midrange is superbly smooth and highs sparkle without being harsh.

As an audio engineer I’m rather critical. I use a lot of Sennheiser gear on stage. Momentum headphones fit the Sennheiser philosophy of making solid, good performing products that hold up on the road.

Some people want over the top low end. If that is your thing these are not the headphones (or droids) you are looking for. Some reviewers complain about Momentum’s battery life. How often do you charge your phone, laptop and all your other gadgets? You won’t need to charge Momentums any more often than the rest of your wireless gear.

A good multiport USB charger is a must in today’s world. I’ve found Anker USB power ports to be very good and you can find them at Best Buy. Momentum’s noise cancelling is not as good as Bose or Sony.

However I turned up a radio tuned to a talk show while listening to music with headphones. The blaring radio was adequately cancelled by Momentums. Momentums are light and comfortable. They clamp securely over your ears without being too tight affording hours of comfortable listening.

The build quality is up to Sennheiser standards, again they are made with stainless steel and genuine leather stitched together instead of being glued which invariably fails. After some hours of listening I am falling in love with Momentums.

I listened to classic rock, country, classical, musical theater and pop. I have a magnificent recording of Moonlight Sonata. With Momentums I felt like I was sitting on the piano bench. The 1812 Overture is a true test of any speaker system.

It’s very dynamic culminating in cannon fire which normally shows the inability of speakers to handle such dynamic range, but Momentums handle it with ease providing authentic reproduction from the most delicate passage to maximum level impulse response without distortion.

To say I’m impressed is an understatement. Sennheiser set the bar very high with Momentum Bluetooth headphones. Time will tell but I anticipate listening to Sennheiser Momentums for a good long time while enjoying every minute.

I purchased these headphones to replace my Sony XM4’s. I loved the Sony’s but since they went kaput after only a year, I didn’t was totally turned off on the brand. This led to an extensive search and I finally settled on the Momentum’s…when they went on sale.

After a month of frequent use, I can honestly say that I really like them. But I would’ve passed if they were only available for full retail. The Momentum’s do sound really good but they’re not miles ahead of the competition.

Particularly at the full price. Audio snobs may say different but, to me, they’re just a little better. Noticeable but not mind blowing. The noise cancellation isn’t nearly as good as Sony’s or Bose but this shouldn’t come as a surprise if you’ve done your research and read multiple reviews.

They’re pretty good but a noticeable step down from those. It does a pretty good job and if you’re listening to music/movies with noise canceling on, you’ll feel pretty isolated. Also, I can confirm that audio sounds excellent with noise canceling on.

Better than with it off. I also love that you can connect to 2 devices and play sound from both devices simultaneously. Not sure, how much I’ll use that but it’s a cool feature. The EQ is cool and after playing around with it, I’ve created some nice modes for different genres.

SoundCheck is a great place to start and you can play around with the EQ after that. The only things I really dislike are the auto off feature, the max loudness and battery life. The auto-pause often stops audio when I don’t want it to…like if I lean/move my head towards my shoulders, it’ll pause.

Like almost all the time. I didn’t have this issue with my previous set of cans so it was a bit more annoying. I ended up just turning it off. I think it’s due to where the sensors are located. The max volume isn’t as loud as my previous headphones which sucks when I really want to jam out.

It’s not a huge difference but noticeable. Battery life definitely is below most of the competition but I never have to recharge throughout the day. Overall, I like the Momentum’s and I’m happy with the purchase.

But only for the sale price. If I had to pay full retail, I would’ve definitely considered other options.

These are my workout must have’s. Am probably OCD about the gym, lifting 3 to 5 times a week. Hike 7 to 20 miles a day also. These jaunts are far more enjoyable with Dre Beats 3 wireless headphones. I’ve had them for months now, and these are a cinch to pair to the iPhone.

Also they show on the display, how much battery is left. These durable headphones are comfortable, and can withstand any weather I’ve thrown their way. To clean off the sweat, I recommend a bit of alcohol and water.

The battery is close to 40 hours on one charge. I’d say 35 to 38 hours, is more realistic but I am known for being rough on equipment. Charge time is fast too. Included with these is a cord, that connects to your laptops USB drive.

Connecting them is easy. What impresses me most is how comfortable these are, especially to inside the ears audio devices that can be inferior to these. The Dre Beats are a well conceived item. Dr Dre has done great, and these also are sold at Apple stores.

I got mine at an electronics store. Sure they were expensive, but for all I use them for, i consider a worthwhile purchase. Noise canceling is quite good, but where these shine is sound quality. The bass is remarkable.

Best I’ve heard yet with headphones. I find these very comfortable on my scalp and ears, and all of the controls are intuitive. A great purchase, plus they have a zip up bag to put them in. This is actually high quality too, and will keep your headphones stored until the next time.

I bought these on John Lewis back in 2020. I’ve left it awhile before reviewing, so I can give an honest review, with plenty of use, rather than reviewing right away. Pros: The sound quality is very clear & crisps, with a good ammount of bass.

They look good, I chose matt black, they’re stylish. I pair them with my android smart phone, I’ve also used them with my TV. No issues what so ever and the Bluetooth range is good. The battery life is great, they last for hours, which you can’t get from smaller headphones.

Cons: The band can sometimes feel restrictive, but I understand they are tight fitting (so they don’t keep slipping down) But after prolonged use, it can feel alittle uncomfortable & after a while you do get damp ears.

Overall BEATS SOLO 3 are a good wireless option. They don’t look huge and fold up compact in their own storage bag. I like to try the new ‘BEATS fot Pro True Wireless’ Earpods to do a true comparison of the two, at some point.

Best headphone sound quality but GUARANTEED TO BREAK! *i had 3 pairs in a row that Target allowed me to exchange twice. surprising because i got them for $100 on a black friday sale when they were normally $275.

**HERE’S THE PROBLEM~ The charging port strips out even if you are perfect! And i was flaweless witht he 2nd & 3rd pair. 3rd pair broke and i shipped em out to get the charging port replaced for $60 and got a high end port.

But wife also got me a plug plug that stays in the heapdhone port and the chord charges just by touch. A friend also had this problem with his beats. Worst charging method ever! Be very VERY gentle when you charge them.

get the ‘Magnetic charging cable’ The plug stays in the headphones and avoids this problem by 1/2. ~As far as theheadphones go i love them. I sync em to my TV and watch movies & game with them. Unless i need a headset becaus eyou can’t talk with them on Xbox/ps4.

So if you have stripped out PS4 or xbox controllers with this style of port= avoid as The Beats have a very cheap charging port.
