20 Best Headphones For Riding Motorcycle (2023 Updated)

These headphones are good – glad I bought them at the recommendation of a friend. In full disclosure, I don’t really use them for their intended purpose (running). I needed to replace my headset for video conferences at work and wanted something small/discreet, lightweight, and with a decent battery life.

these fit the bill. Pros: – battery life – I’m on MS Teams calls all day long (6-7 hours/day) and these can make it through on a fresh charge. If I do have to charge during the day, they top up pretty quickly (seems to be less than 30 minutes for a full charge) – very lightweight and comfortable to wear* – the mic seems to work well according to my coworkers & clients – discreet – small enough to be barely noticeable on video calls – neat little feature is the voice that tells you “charge me” when the battery gets very low (but it can startle you the first time the voice randomly speaks to you without prompting) – relatively easy Bluetooth pairing** and controls Cons: – *comfortable.

to a point, that is. Not sure that they were intended for my extended usage but they do feel like they’re pinching right in front of your ear after several hours. I end up feeling a fatigue similar to clenching your jaw too hard or for too long and wonder if that’s the fit or a side effect of the bone conduction – **only pairs with one device at a time so you have to go through full pairing process again if, for example, you want to switch from your laptop to your phone – might be unique to my use case but these get in the way of using the headrest on my office chair.

The loop between earpieces lays right where your head meets the headrest. can be pushed down but that moves the earpieces and reduces sound quality since it’s not “bone conducting” properly (if that makes sense) – sound quality is “meh” to me (I typically use Pixel Buds II with my phone which has much better bass & depth of sound).

That being said, my wife (AirPods user) tried these out and thought the sound quality was pretty good. Overall, happy with my purchase and they make my workday more comfortable. 4 out of 5 stars, would buy again.

Maybe one day I’ll actually use them for running!.

I can’t wear ear buds, wanted something that could stay on when working out, wanted something small (easy to pack, less conspicious), and wanted something that doesn’t block out other sounds. This headphone style meets all these needs! I’m not much of a critic on music sound quality, so can’t speak to that, but these headphones are my go-to for any activity outside of work (where I use large noise-cancelling headphones), including walks around the neighborhood, going to the gym, or just doing the dishes.

While granular control is limited with just a few buttons, there is a nice large “Pause” button on the left side, which makes it easier than most other headphones I’ve used to stop the sound and fully engage with someone interrupting me (then quickly restart).

I also appreciate that if I need to stop using my headphones for a while (eg driving, long conversation), I can just leave them on instead of removing and risking losing them, as I often did with other small headphones in the past.

This is my third set of headphones over the years from Aftershokz/Shokz, and my favorite pair yet due to the option to buy the mini size – it fits my head so much better than any previous versions which were only full-sized when I bought them (Trekz Titanium, Aeropex).

It’s reduced how much they stick out from behind my head, and increased the comfort of them. In the past I’ve had to wear them for a short while at first as I acclimated to how they press on my head–with this pair, I didn’t need to do that.

I’m hoping that there’s also some increase in durability as my last pair snapped on the side (but still works, technically). I appreciate the quick charge improvement over the previous Aeropex model, and the sound range continues to be good as i run all over the house, leaving my phone in one place.

I haven’t yet used it much for calls, but the few I’ve done have been fine (held while in a quiet environment – predecessor had some challenges in noisy environment, understandably).

I currently have the OpenRun 8th Gen (when it was still called the Aeropex AfterShockz prior to the name rebranding thus I have the old logo). Overall, I am very happy with this product. Just recently I saw that a 9th Generation OpenRun PRO was just released to kickoff the 2022 New Year.

In comparison, there’s only very slight differences between the OpenRun (8th Gen) versus OpenRun PRO (9th gen), of which I will note below. So if you’re currently considering on getting the PRO like I am, consider if the differences are worth it: • 8hr charge for the OpenRun versus a 10hr charge time for the OpenRun PRO.

Okay yeah. I dig it 🙂 Any extra usage time is always a plus for me especially on days when I’m too lazy to charge. • The OpenRun weighs 26g and the PRO weighs a little heavier at 29g but not a deal breaker for me.

• Different placement in terms of the charging port (which is neither a good or bad thing, just an observation). • The OpenRun PRO has faster charge time of 1-hour versus the 1. 5 hours for OpenRun 8th Gen (but honestly an additional 30 mins is not a big deal at all that would make me jump for joy and run out to get a PRO).

I usually unconsciously leave my headphones on the charger for longer than it should anyways since I sometimes forget about it while running errands and doing other things around the house. So this additional charge feature I didn’t care much about.

• OpenRun is ‘waterproof’ (IP 67), while the OpenRun PRO is only ‘water-resistant’ (IP 55), which confuses me. Honestly my biggest beef here, obviously. IP rating weathers dust and moisture, so they are durable enough to withstand rainy runs, sweaty rides, or other gritty conditions.

So like WHY would the new generation downgrade the IP rating??? This makes no absolute sense. Typically shouldn’t new generations in anything be more advanced and not a less/downgraded version of it’s former counterpart?! So I would really like to know why???? Definitely a major turn-off.

• The PRO version has two bass enhancers, unlike it’s former counterpart. I’m very excited to find that the new OpenRun Pro has incorporated the two bass enhancers. This is pretty much the ONLY reason why I would get the PRO because I’ve aways complained about how much I like my headphones except for the lack of bass and sound quality.

Hoping the more premium sound quality of the bass enhancers is as advertised and worth the penny for music listeners like myself. So that pretty much sums up the differences in a nutshell between the OpenRun and the OpenRun PRO in terms of features.

In comparison to everything else, all the other features are exactly the same between the OpenRun and the OpenRun PRO in terms of sensitivity, wireless range, microphone, bluetooth type, command controls, frequency response, compatibility, moisture detection, frequency, etc etc etc.

I haven’t bought the PRO yet given the pricetag so I’m going to wait until my birthday this Summer to get one, and again mainly for the bass enhancers and the extra 2-hours battery life, which for me are both very important to me so hoping when I do get it, that it won’t be a disappointment.

Another thing I want to mention in terms of its size is that I would like to see a “Mini” version of the PRO. Makes no sense to have a Mini for the standard OpenRun but not have it available for the OpenRun PRO.

The “Mini” is very popular especially amongst us ladies so I’m hoping to see if there’ll be one by Summer. Guess I’ll see what happens when the time comes!.

I love the earplugs. They work well for sound protection. They protect my ears, but still allow me to hear and communicate with co-workers when I’m not using bluetooth. Bluetooth works well and the controls on the headphones are intuitive and easy to use.

Very easy to set up with all my devices – phone, TV, laptop. My only complaint is with the foamies. I apparently have really small ear canals. The XS foamies still hurt my ears. I wish there was a smaller size or that they were tapered for more comfort.

My husband has a different brand of noise cancelling earplugs with foamies that are tapered, and made with a very comfortable material – closer to the material used for disposable foam earplugs – so the foam stays compressed long enough to comfortably insert the plugs.

The material used for the ISOtunes foamies don’t stay compressed long enough to comfortably insert.

I bought these in the hope of being able to listen to music or podcasts while mowing. They have delivered in spades. Great sound isolation from the engine noise, and very good sound reproduction from bluetooth.

My first use was more than 3 hours and they were just as comfortable as when I started. More than happy with my purchase. I wound definitely recommend these to anyone looking for the same things I was.

The good, noise cancelling is awesome, Sound is good, bluetooth connection is super fast and talking on the phone is spot on, battery life is good. The bad, controller is heavy and pulls right side bud out, ear hooks don’t hold any weight, function button (pause button etc, so I can talk to people) is not super easy to distinguish and a bit slow, also if you bump them they generally don’t hold in well.

I wish this product had no bugs, then it would be really great. However, I’ve bought this product twice, and both units had all the same deal-breaker bugs. From outright crashing and turning off, to dropping audio in calls, to going silent for no reason.

Every day I’d experience multiple bugs and it became too much to deal with. The headphones will probably work if you only use them for music and only connect one device, but I’m a power user and I use them all day, every day for work.

I had every feature turned on, including ‘connect to 2 devices simultaneously’. I’ve attached a video of the bug that’s easiest to reproduce, but here’s the full list: – If you’re on a voice call while connected to 2 devices, if you reboot (disconnect) the 2nd device the audio for the phone call cuts out (this is demonstrated in the video).

You can end the call and listen to other stuff like music, but if you make another phone call – there’s still no audio. You have to reboot the headphones to get phone call audio back. – The headphones very often forget about devices.

One or two of my attempts at recording the attached video, after rebooting the Mac and going into the Headphones app on the iPhone, the MacBook Pro was no longer a paired device. I was re-pairing my phone or laptop 4 – 5 times a week.

Sometimes it was as easy as simply walking out of Bluetooth range of my laptop, then coming back to find it’s no longer a paired device. Super annoying. – Audio randomly cuts out during video calls on my laptop.

My mic stops working and I’m not hearing any audio from the call. The headphones are still on, the ANC is still active, my MacBook Pro still believes it’s connected to the headphones, the Sony Headphones app says that the MacBook Pro is the active device (the little speaker icon is beside my MacBook Pro and not my iPhone).

To resolve, I have to jump into the Headphones app on my iPhone 13 Pro Max, manually disconnect the headphones from my MacBook Pro, reconnect, wait maybe 8 – 10 seconds and then the audio comes back.

– I was on a Google Meet video call on my laptop and I received an incoming phone call. Upon answering the call by tapping answer on the phone, the headphones crashed. They made a click noise and completely turned off.

They had 92% battery. I turned them back on and they then refused to connect to my phone. They had completely forgotten my iPhone as one of my paired devices. – The on/off ear detection is very buggy.

Sometimes I’d take the headphones off to chat to my partner whilst on a Zoom call with mates during gaming. There’s no concept of play/pausing a video call so the headphones shouldn’t have done anything.

but the audio for the call cut out when I lifted the ear cup off my left ear. Only way to get audio back was to reboot the headphones. – At other times the on/off ear detection would just fail to play/pause what I was listening to.

I’d come back and I’m suddenly halfway through a podcast. – The right ear cup touch controls would very frequently stop working. Only way to get touch controls back was to reboot the headphones. – ‘Automatic power off’ would sometimes just turn the headphones off while I’m in the middle of a call or listening to music.

I just had to turn it off. It doesn’t work. Aside from the bugs, there’s just weird limitations and design choices (I’ve been a Bose QC3/QC35/NCH700 user for a combined 14 years prior to trying the XM5s so this stuff below seems really strange to me): – Software updates take ~45 minutes and you can’t be connected to multiple devices while that’s going on.

If you forget to turn off ‘automatic power off’ during the update process and they turn off, you’ll have to start over again. This is in comparison to Bose’s headphones taking < 5 minutes to update their software while connected to two devices.

I can’t think of a good reason why a software update should take so long on the XM5s. As far as I can tell, the 1. 1. 1 firmware update from 27th May is the only update since launch. Nothing came through in the 5 weeks I spent with two pairs of XM5s; it’s now the middle of July so I’m not sure when we could expect any future bugfixing.

– The adaptive ANC is really annoying and can’t be turned off. I just want maximum ANC all the time, but if I’m outdoors and I cough or sneeze suddenly half the ANC goes away and I can hear cars in the street.

Annoying. A lot of people are complaining about this. – The status light doesn’t stay on while the headphones are on, so if you’ve left them on your desk and come back to them, you have to guess whether they’re still switched on or whether they’ve automatically powered off.

I would often incorrectly guess that they’re off and hold the power button, thereby turning them off instead of on. – There’s no Bluetooth pairing button. You have to hold the power button for 5 seconds.

This would be okay if the headphones didn’t turn off after 2 seconds of holding the power button. I don’t want to reboot my headphones to pair a new Bluetooth device. Meanwhile the NC/AMB button has no function associated with a long press.

Seems like such an obvious candidate for Bluetooth pairing. Strange. – You can’t give the XM5s a name, so they just appear to your devices as ‘WH-1000XM5’. This would be annoying in situations where multiple people own a pair and they’re sharing other devices.

to just have a list of paired devices all called ‘WH-1000XM5’. I managed to return my 2nd pair of XM5s for Bose QC45s and I honestly prefer them in every single way. Smaller case, $50 AUD cheaper, they fold up nicely, they’re free of bugs, max ANC all the time – they just work.

The customer service journey with Sony was also very disappointing. I went through all their troubleshooting, resetting, trying different devices, making a video of one of the issues for them but despite asking 4 times for a replacement unit, they instead insisted on escalating and sending information to the Japan engineering team and waiting to hear back.

I ended up buying my replacement unit locally because the process was taking so long, and then I had to be very forceful to talk them into letting me return the first pair. Don’t buy direct from Sony – buy from a proper store with a decent return policy.

If every promised feature worked reliably I could overlook some of the weird design choices and I’d probably prefer them over the competition, but I’m getting old and I just want things to work. There’s a lot of work to do Sony, get on it.

I was excited to switch from my Bose, but the NC optimiser on the WH-1000xm5 is too disruptive and ruins the experience of having the ANC that these headphones are potentially capable of. For example, if I exhale too loud the ANC almost stops and I experience a sudden, loud disruption to my quiet while the headphones make some sort of change.

The louder your environment the worse it is. It happens too frequently to be acceptable. I bought these for the ANC capability and the software lets the customer down because I cannot turn the feature off that causes these sudden changes.

I want the headphones on maximum NC at all times without the loud reduction in ANC if I breath too hard, take a sip of water or respond to someone asking me a question. Sony really needs to provide an option in the app for users to control the ANC and to turn the feature off that causes such sudden changes in the ANC level.

Once this issue is fixed I would be happy with them, but not until then. The sound quality is very good but it does not compensate for the ANC problem.

Fit Smith helmets well, easy to install, buttons work though ear pads. Audio quality is a lot less than ideal: I have free earbuds that sound better than these and volume needs to be cranked to hear anything clearly (I’m 30 and not hearing impaired).

Battery charger is not accessible though the helmet so they have to be removed to charge, which is a pain. Right v left is not easily distinguished on the speakers but heavily leaned on for explaining functionality.

TL:DR, if you enjoyed Hit Clips from the 90s, you’ll really love this new $120 bluetooth model. If you’ve listened to any portable audio since then, prepare for disappointment.

Perfect for my ski helmet! The chips fit into the ear pads, no more hassling with buds. The audio controls are so easy and convenient. I have an older, non-streaming iPod nano model (gen 6), and I assumed the controls wouldn’t work with it, but they do! This makes enjoying music and still being able to interact with other so easy and convenient.

This was way beyond what I expected when I made the purchase.

I really had high hopes for these as I was coming out of a good relationship with a POC Communicator Bug helmet with Beats by Dre. The POC worked great and sounded greater, sadly, the venting was not keeping up with climate change.

I’m sure the new ones are better but Backcountry. com had a good deal on a Smith helmet and I heard good things. Initially, I bought the wired Chips but between my phone crapping out and not being impressed by the wired setup I decided to try Bluetooth.

After all, the wired drivers had a decent sound. Living room setup? Check! Sounded great after charging. All the controls are. controlling. After about 6 uses on the hill the sound went south and the drivers had uneven volume.

Not cool. Back to wired.

Otium headphones are great quality for the price. I have owned several pairs of wireless headphones and have been impressed with the output and quality of these headphones. The battery life is great for the the charge time.

I go weeks without charging them and they still sound great up until they die. The quality of sound is the only negative aspect of the product. When this product is looked at alone they are great but when is comparison to other products the flaws become evident.

The sound at the lower levels is dim and unpronounced whereas with my other headphones they have sounded good and any volume input. The headphones also tend to be spotty when used at distances over 5 feet which is not terrible but it is annoying when you have long distances that need to be spanned.

Another complaint would be the quality of bass at high volumes. I Feel it delivers in lower settings but does not have quite as good of an output at higher volumes bass wise. As far as midrange and high range the sound is good throughout the sound spectrum.

Another picky detail is the ear clamp is sized for people with larger ears. I have smaller ears and the ear clamps aren’t capable of holding on to my ears during intense cardio workouts or running. When lifting however the rubber ear fashioning is enough to keep the whole ear bud in my ear and comfortable.

As far as aesthetics go I love the dark black color with the brims accented with a dull red. Delivery and packaging was great, the headphones come with a carry container and carabiner that are perfect for the product.

Overall the product is great when taking into account the price for $20-$40 you definitely get a great product. With a few minor tune ups i’m sure this product could compete with other headphones valued at twice the price.

Apon opening it looks like a great product, but the first few minutes with it were hard. The charging port was covered with the usual looking rubber cover thing, I was like all right lets charge this thing up.

This was part of the first problem, it didnt wanna open, after coubtless tries opening it i ended up getting the tip of a mechanical pencil and opened it from the side. Because of this flaw the rubber thing now is half open and sometimes pops off from one side leaving it there to dangle.

Then making the waterproof part a bit less realistic. It quickly charged, i was happy for that. But when I began using them I was instantly let down with the audio quality it sounded muffled like if you were to put a cloth over them and listen to the music like that.

They did fit in my ears very well though, so depending on what you look for in earbuds as in audio quality I would look for something a bit better. But as in style and it actually functioning i would accept these.

No previous experience with the product. I have trouble sleeping resulting from neck pain and like music while trying to sleep,. Until recently I have been using bulky headphones which caused a problem when using a cold pack on my neck.

“Hang-in” ear buds will not stay seated when I am prone but these stay in my ear the best of any, including my hearing aids. The pieces that circle the ear are soft and comfortable. I do not like the rectangle design.

Pairing to an iPhone is a snap and the three multifunction buttons, although very small, function as described. The charge port is ok but could be located more conveniently. As designed it is located next to the red wire connecting both ear buds making it difficult to seat the charge cord for fear of damaging the cord.

Sound quality is excellent. Instructional voice could be slightly louder. No information on endurance since I have had mine for about three weeks only. This device solved a problem for me.

Tried these out because the price is good and the seller allowed returns. I like the three sizes of ear buds, I tried each and settled on small for my ears. They are comfortable, easy to forget you have them on.

The sound is fine, good bass. They paired easily to my Android phone. The controls are easy to learn. The battery lasts long enough. My only complaint is that when putting on the buds, you can accidentally call the last number because the button is sensitive.

Now I put them on before I power them up. I liked these enough that I got another pair for my wife.

Comes with 3 different sizes of ear plugs inserts. I used the smallest one and fits my ear quiet well. I’m a gym guy, I bike and run. These don’t come off. They do hurt after an hour about some change.

(These type always do). You can skip song, rise or lower volume and take/ hang up calls. It is a challenge to find those button since they are small (but that’s in the beginning once you know the heasd phones you’ll know).

They work very well with great sound. Only negative really is, if you wear them too long it can get a bit uncomfortable around the ear.

The Shokz OpenRun Pro Headphones I received for evaluation were well built and easy to use, even without the included instructions and documentation. All I had to do was plug the charging cable into my computer and attach the magnetic plug to the headphones and wait for the charge to go to full.

My phone found the headphones with no trouble and paired even without having to download the Shokz app first, and even after downloading the app, I didn’t ever really need to use it in order to use the headphones.

The headphones themselves are comfortable and stay put. I didn’t ever have to readjust them while running, hiking, or riding bike, and the headset did not interfere with my cycling helmet. It did get a little crowded with both headphones and dark glasses above my ears, but both still functioned fine.

The good thing about an evaluation pair means that I didn’t start with any preconceptions of how I wanted to use them, which left me free to find and evaluate the headphones merits. This is good, because these bone induction headphones probably shouldn’t be evaluated in comparison to normal headphones.

They have their own strengths and uses. These won’t replace my regular headphones for everyday use. Most of the criticisms I’ve read in other reviews online seem to come from expecting that they will.

The open-ear design of these means that you get the full range of your normal hearing and all the ambient noise of your environment. On a morning run I could hear the birds in the trees and the footsteps of other runners and every car and bike that crossed my path, and each of these made it a bit harder to hear the music that was playing on my headphones.

That’s the real draw of these is the situational awareness. I was able to hike with my wife and have a normal conversation while listening to music without it bothering her or disturbing anyone else on the trail.

The noise bleed from the headphones was minimal. The music was less of a presence, but it was there as a part of the environment – just inside my head instead of coming from around me. To get that, though, you lose the sound isolation of normal headphones, so your music is going to be less audible if your environment is competing for attention.

I could not hear music at all at normal level while next to running water. The white noise drowned it out. The biggest thing to get used to was the difference in sound quality. These do not sound like regular headphones.

I’ve seen people complain that the bass was not very present and that the sound was tinny, but in my experience I found that a lot of that depends on the music you are listening to and the placement of the phones on your temples.

With most of my music I was getting a full range of clear and pleasing sound from bass to treble. It sounds more articulate and detailed than regular headphones, but with a bit less depth. With a very compressed recording where all the instruments are crowded and loud, the midrange does start to dominate the highs and lows and leave the music seeming less full, but with a more open and balanced recording, the sound and detail are all quite impressive, especially in quiet surroundings.

I sometimes hear details in them that are hard to make out in my studio headphones. I actually find myself listening to old music in them at night just to find new things to discover in familiar tunes.

Overall, I love these headphones for what they are. As a set of mobile headphones for use on the run or on bike, they are great, especially if you were trying to listen to a podcast or needed to talk on the phone while exercising (speech is very clear).

And with the ears open, you don’t have to worry if your batteries run out the way that you would with noise cancelling earphones that have a safety mode that lets in some surrounding noise. And they are also really great if you like music while on a hike, but don’t want to lose the sound of the environment and don’t want to be one of those people who ruin the solitude for everyone around them.

I would not want to use them for all listening as my only headphones, but they are excellent in their role.

These Shokz OpenRun Pro Bluetooth headphones have a lot of fantastic features, but I’d wager they’re really limited to some specific use conditions. They are not great everywhere, but do excel in certain circumstances.

Out of the box, the headphones have a nice storage case with a molded insert, they’re lightweight (29g), and quick and easy to get turned on and paired to your mobile device (Bluetooth 5. 1). To pair, just hold the volume up (+ button) for 6 second.

You’ll hear voice prompts on the headset. The charging cable is only about 2ft long, is pretty thin, and is a proprietary magnetic connection, so be sure to keep track of it otherwise you’ll struggle attempting to charge them.

While charging, the led on the side of the headset is red, once fully charged it will switch to blue. The Shokz app found and connected to the headset without issue and gave some easier ways to adjust equalizer settings if you didn’t like using the buttons on the headset.

There are 2 EQ settings in the application: Vocal and Standard. The Standard setting was pretty balanced for general audio, perfect for music. The vocal setting boosts some of the higher frequencies and is great for phone calls or podcasts.

On Standard EQ setting, music was balanced, but flat. There is more bass in this model which is an improvement over some of the previous models, but the bass is clearer on these. If you turn the volume up too much on bass heavy music, I find the headset almost tickles me and I don’t like it.

The biggest caveat: little to no privacy. Anyone with in several feet of you can hear the music you’re listening to or hear the voices on your phone call. The high frequency audio comes out of the normal speaker directed at your ear, only the lower frequencies are actually bone conduction.

While this is great for running as you can blast music while still hearing your surroundings, it’s not great if you’re looking for privacy in what you’re listening to. If you listened quiet enough and had more of a cubicle or office setup at work, you could get away with no one hearing what you’re listening to, but if you’re in a shared flex space, the noise will bother others.

Overall, from previous models, these have enhanced bass, better battery life, easier to use controls, and a quick charge feature (5 minute for 1. 5 hours of usage). They’re also IP55 rated to protect against sweat, splashes, and raindrops.

If you need a pair better suited for worse conditions than that, Shokz also makes a IP67 rated model (regular OpenRun), or even a fully submersible IP68 rated model with onboard storage for swimming (OpenSwim).

If you don’t need those features, you want the latest bone conduction technology, and you’re an avid runner or sports athlete that likes to hear your surroundings, these are a fantastic purchase.

I bought these a few months ago and they have wounderful sound, bass hits nice! Battery life is great also. I recomend these for all occasions.

The sound quality is clear and good. Plus that clip is handy to keep the ear phones secure while running. 8 hours of use isnt bad. And for the price, its a good ear phone. Im thinking of getting some more.

The Bluetooth part of it works fine and the sound is good. The only issue is that these don’t stay in my ears. I thought these were sports earbuds that wouldn’t have something wrapped around the ear.

My basic Goto headphones for sleeping since I can lay on them sideways, without them hurting my ears. The sound quality isn’t as rich as other buds, but they work great for non-music content. While I wouldn’t call them perfectly flat, but the sound profile is more near tuned to that type of quality.

These headphones don’t have lag on the Bluetooth sync during the playback of content, on any the devices I have paired it with. The problem with cheaper pairs of BT headphones, is normally this latency in playback of video content, and these pairs do not have this issue.

The battery life is also good. The low battery warning is triggered quite early. Normally you might have 2-3 hours left till they are completely drained. It’s also a very jarring warning, so if using them to sleep, I recommend making sure they are reporting at least 50% before sleeping.

They are great value when they are on sale, but at the full 49 dollars, it’s hard to recommend them, considering there is great headphones around this price range too, that work have more warmth in their sound profile, if sleeping sideways in headphones are not use.

If you want something more bass heavy, a warmer sound, a darker colorway, and have the same over and around the neck design, look at Sony WI-XB400s. The xb400s can be slept in if you have a pillow that doesn’t dig into them, or larger ears wrapping around them.

I’ve had these wireless in-ear headphones for over a year now and have been extremely happy with them. I specifically wanted a set of inexpensive wireless in-ear Bluetooth headphones to wear at work.

I work at an animal shelter and these headphones have everything that I was looking for. If they get damaged/destroyed, I won’t be out a lot of money. If a dog jumps up and knocks a bud out of my ear (which has happened several times), the cord means I don’t lose the bud down a drain or have it get eaten by the dog.

The buds fit nicely in my ears and dampen the noise when a lot of dogs are barking. Pairing with my phone was easy and the controls are simple and work well. I’m certainly no audiophile, but the sound is quite good to me, especially for the price.

The headphones have held up well over the last ear, with the only noticeable wear being the cover over the charging port doesn’t quite seat all the way in anymore. I can’t speak to how well they work with phone calls, as I use them exclusively to listen to music.

I always have only one ear bud in with the other tucked under my shirt (I need to hear if someone is trying to get my attention), but I can easily see the length of the cord being awkward if you’re wearing both ear buds.

I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for something similar to what I was. I’ve been very happy with them.

Look at my purchase date – I have had these guys for a while and compared to my more expensive Samsung Buds+, these get more use! Why? They are simple easier to grab, turn on, and keep handy. I understand why TWS (true wireless) earbuds are popular for active people – but when you don’t want something stuck in your ear that means keeping the case handy (unless you want it to die in your pocket).

With these, when I’m not using them, I can just pop them out of my ear and let them hang around my neck. The battery life is bonkers. I can’t even tell you how long these last because I have recharged them so rarely.

They use a USB-C port for charging so when I do need to charge I can use the one I already use for my phone. Microphone works well, no one has stated any issues in hearing me. Cons: The sound isn’t anything to write home about.

On the same level as basic apple earbuds/airpods. The earbud shape is a little pointed, so it may irritate some ears.

Please read through the review to its end and don’t be put off by my ramblings, this is a positive review for Aftershokz. I bought a pair of these Aftershokz bone conduction earphones about 2 1/2 yrs ago and to be honest I wasn’t impressed one bit and so put them in a drawer and that was that, lesson learned! So, when I came across them a couple of weeks ago I thought I’d give them another go.

However, this time around I am so so impressed with the sound these headphones produce. It took a couple of days for me to realise why the sound seemed so much better, it was me! Previously, I weighed in at 123kg, now I’m 79kg.

For me the weight loss was a consequence of Covid, lockdown and cocooning as I’m immunocompromised. I increased my exercise and in total I’ve lost 44kg (88lbs). One of the many benefits of there being less of me is the Aftershokz headband has less of me to pass the sound waves through to get to the bone, and as I see it this has resulted in a massive increase in the sound quality.

Just to confirm what I’m saying is I’ve not seen this fact written down anywhere but rather it is my personal experience with using the technology in these headphones. However, to be serious about this product I can report that they are in fact very good at what they do, which is produce a good midrange sound of what you’re listening to.

The down side to the technology in the Aftershokz is that they cannot give a good bass, if that’s your thing look else where. However, if your like me and listen all most exclusively to audio books or Radio 4/Ex they are quite brilliant and can’t be bettered.

Additionally, as I spend the day walking my dogs around my rural Tipperary home I can now enjoy a good audio book or broadcast and also be fully aware of what’s around me due to the ‘open ear’ aspect of these headphones and remain relatively safe.

In closing the only person that might want to think about buying these headphones are the more rotund amongst us, like I use to be. For me there really is a dramatic difference to the positive with the before and after sound production following a large weight reduction.

For anyone else that is of a more regular weight get these headphones and enjoy. The only thing to watch out for is if you have them up at full volume there is a slight tickle where the headset touch the temple from the ‘thumper’ but with the slightest adjustment downward in volume it will remove this sensation.

I have had these headphones for a few days. I love the bone conduction headphones. I have tried various in ear buds, the bone conduction type leaves my ears open to hear surrounding sounds. I wear headsets for over 10 hours a day.

The earbuds would start to hurt my ears after a few hours and if I needed to talk to someone I had to pull them out. Having buds in my ears so much attributed to wax buildup too. If I’m in a loud environment, earplugs make these headsets work great.

I have had no complaints about voice quality on outgoing calls. The only thing that I do not like is the way they lay over the top of my ears. After 5 or 6 hours they irritate the top of my ears. Repositioning them stops the irritation.

I have tried another popular brand of bone conducting headphones and the Aftershokz are much better at conduction, sound leakage and comfort. I also have the Opencomm, the comfort of them is better than the OpenMove for extended use time.

Performance seems to be approximately the same.

So I kept seeing/hearing about this headset around that allows you to hear what’s going on while listening to music or podcast or whatever you listen to. Just worked a bunch of overtime and said screw it! I’ll try it! Got it and gave it a shot and am quite surprised how well it works.

Can hear everything going on around me and talk to people. I do work in a machine shop so it gets pretty loud, but I can still hear my music. Thing is awesome! You want to hear a negative thing, can’t all be positive right? Ok, fine.

Can’t adjust the headset to make it a bit tighter. I got a big head and it still feels relatively loose. Whatever, I am use to it. Only thing that truly upsets me is I can’t hear my audiobooks all that well.

Could be that the reader used a crap microphone, because I can hear some of the other books. But it just doesn’t get loud enough even switching through the other settings. Music though? Clear! Podcasts? Depends on which one, but Clear! Would like to see maybe a newer one from this brand and see if they make a couple of improvements that people complain about.

But would totally get another one if I got the chance or if this one craps out on me!.

Perfect fit under my motorcycle helmet. I switched out the the tips that come with the headphones for some foam tips (allows for better fit and still allows in some noise for safety purposes). The flat design to the backs and in ear fit allow me to put on my helmet without pulling the headphones out of my ears, so I’m a big fan Now for the review: Sound is Sony quality, which means its better than average.

Bass is deep but not over powering. Hard to judge mids as I wear them while riding 60 miles an hour in a helmet, but vocals and higher ranges are clear. Battery life is phenomenal, Sony claims 14 hours and I have no reason to doubt that, as I’m still at 70% after initial charge.

No issues with dropping connectivity even under my motorcycle jacket and my phone in my pocket. No review on voice or call quality as I’m strictly using them for my rides and haven’t attempted. Big perk for me is also no false dialing when my helmet hits the controls.

Overall, Great value for someone looking for a pair to wear under a helmet.

I got these headphones because I needed a new pair of headphones because my bluetooth pair went bad. I found Aftershokz and wanted to try them, but wasn’t quite ready to commit to spending over $100 on a bluetooth pair that I may not like as I had never tried any bone conduction style headphones.

Therefore I met the middle-ground and got the Sportz TItanium with mic, opting to get these slightly upgraded Sportz since I tend to talk on my phone with headphones a lot. Novelty: When it comes to novelty, these things are batting 100, it is a very unique technology and when you first try it it is just such a cool experience, weird but definitely cool.

The first time I tried these the vibrations were pretty strange, and after a while of use I got the same feeling in my jaw as if I had blown a few balloons. After a few uses however I have gotten used to the vibrations and this side effect no longer occurs.

Sound: Sound is great, it is no top-tier level sound of course, this isn’t something that buries your ear in foam, or you don’t have to burrow a speaker into your ear, and yet this still gives a better sound than most of the common in-ears, and has a nicer, more appealing sound than my sony over-the-ears.

If you are playing these and you happen to plug your ears, then the sound is even clearer, but that’s not completely the purpose of these. Comfort: These are some of the MOST comfortable headphones I have EVER worn.

My ears will begin to get sore if I use over-the-ear or in-ear headphones. Not to mention that when workingn out sweat always seems to flow into my ears from the in-ear headphones. With these sitting in front of the ear, both of those problems don’t exist, as well as the fact that these don’t press too hard on the temples that it becomes uncomfortable.

Purpose: One of the biggest reason that I got these headphones was for the fact that I am someone who likes to be situationally aware. To be able and hear the cars coming behind me, or to hear people entering the weightroom, noise cancelling headphones don’t allow this however.

But these allow me to hear vehicles coming on those busy roads, and allow me to hear the people around me. The bone conduction works extremely well and I love how well I can hear my music as well as what’s going on around me.

Cons: The battery pack placed slightly too close to the aux jack so that it can be cumbersome to try and place it in something such as a workout armband, however this is likely an issue that is difficult to solve due to the requirement of a battery.

The plug in cover for the battery can also be somewhat frustrating to close as well. Other Pros: The mini-clip on the wire is a great touch to keep wires out of the way. Final Verdict: I love these headphones, they are incredibly comfortable, fit well, sound fantastic, and accomplish exactly what they were designed for.

These are excellent for anyone beginning into the bone conduction headphones. I definitely will be investing in a bluetooth pair in the not too distant future as I am a wire snob and love bluetooth, but these are great for anyone that doesn’t want to commit to that $100+ pricetag yet.

95). Overall, I love the concept and sound of the headphones. The speakers of these headphone sit in front of your ears and not in your ears. If you’re looking for noise-canceling or sound isolating headphones, this is not the right product.

But if you don’t mind being aware of your surroundings, these work great. If the volume is high, you may not be able to truly hear what people are saying, but if you set it right, you can definitely alternate your attention between music and outside speech, which is awesome.

This would make it perfect for driving or biking, when you don’t want to be completely isolated from the environment. In regards to the quality, I’m not an audiophile, but these sound really good. The sound is clear and it has nice bass.

An interesting thing about the bass is that it vibrates on your head a little, which is kind of cool but also kind of feels weird. The battery life is pretty good and you can listen to quite a lot of music on one charge.

Overall the feel over the ears is comfortable and it’s pretty light weight. Now the down sides. First, the cover for the charging port is annoyingly difficult to remove. If your nails are clipped and you don’t have something really small to stick under the cover, it will be very hard to take off the charge port cover.

Another down side is the cord length on the “distal” side of the battery (the side connected to the 3mm jack) — it’s only about 2″ long, and I wish it were longer. But the overall cord length is fine.

A third con is the LED that indicator. When turning the device on, it turns blue for a second, and then turns off. I have frequently forgotten to turn the device off since the LED doesn’t stay on when the device is on.

I would like to see the LED stay on when the device is on. Bottom line, a very cool concept and good sound, but if I’m paying $50 for headphones, they should have these annoying quirks about them. I think if those quirks don’t bother you, it’s definitely worth the purchase.

Again, I am reviewing this as if I paid $50 so that the I can post an unbiased review. This is a review for the AfterShokz Sportz Titanium Bone Conduction Headphones that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

I looked everywhere for this older version of the PlantronicsBackBeat Fit. The new ones (after 2018, I think) are of real inferior quality to these older ones. In the older model the soundquality is excellent, there is no white noise/buzzing, and the menu-voice is crystal clear.

I am so disappointed that Plantronics obviously didn’t keep up their high standards. This older model, on the other hand, is excellent, and my previous pair lasted from February 2016 to February 2021; that’s five years.

They went with me to Indonesia and Mongolia and I exercised almost daily with them. And the only thing that actually broke on them was the plastic cover over the buttons. So I haven’t thrown away my old pair, in case they never make something as good as this again.

In the meantime, I’m thrilled to have found this brand new, older model. About the headphones: I don’t like seperated earbuds, which is why I prefer this type connected by cable. I also feel like they sit much better.

I have NO clue why anyone would buy for example AirPods. I do power yoga, which means my head is often upside down, and these stay put 100% of the time. They’re so comfortable too. Absolutely love them 🙂 Cons: Some with small heads (like me, size 54-56 cm) may feel like the cable is a bit long, but it’s a one size, so.

The older design was brilliant, I used them every day for about 3 years before my bag killed the headset. The second set lasted another 2 years before one of the earphones stopped working. I love this headset for running or listening music when working so I purchased my 3rd set.

Sadly by this point the company had changed to Poly & the design or manufacturing also sees to have completely changed & the quality along with it, the first new set I purchased didn’t work at all & had to be exchanged (Poly were great with the return and exchange).

My issues with the new design are: – The sound controls have switched sides from left to right. This seems really strange & isn’t in line with the BackBeat Pro headset I also have. – The push controls are not responsive.

Trying to turn the headset off can be tedious at times. – The little grip for indicating where the controls are is gone. – And my biggest issue which means I don’t even use the headset is that if I move any faster than a walking pace the right earpiece pops off.

This makes the headset useless for running. In the end my older headset started working again & that is what I still use. Its still going strong with daily use after 4 years. It would be brilliant to bring back that design & manufacturer.

Great high and mid range. Easy to wear except soft insert comes out of my ear easily. Controls a bit clunky. Im OK w 5 he battery life (if so – havent used that long yet). Charging not always clear. Cant use phone with road noise (but see below).

On the plus, its WP, compact, almost unnoticeable to me, simple pause and on off. Wish still made new. Made to allow u to hear your surroundings versus noise cancelling – perfect for safe biking!.

This product from 1more is very good. I really like it. The sound quality is very good alongwith the asthetics of the headphones. Also, 20 mins quick charge runs for 3 hours. Also, Bluetooth connectivity is also very good upto 10 feets.

Moreover, sweat proof and i use it everywhere like running, outdoor, during exercise etc. Also, its ear buds are good fit to the ears. It won’t fall so easily. Only thing can be improved is its battery backup but though for 20 mins charge its well enough for 3 hours.

Overall, i like to use this headphones everywhere and also due to its good look and sound quality.

I had used JBL, sennheiser and other top brand earphones. But one more earphones are one step ahead to them when we compare about the audio quality. Bass and treble are very good. I gifted this to my spouse and he liked it a lot.

I bought this for my wife as her old one wore out from use. This DVD player is well worth the money and is great. Easy to use, good picture and sound quality is very nice. I highly recommend this DVD player to anyone looking to replace their old one.

I originally bought these on a whim, whilst on a break from work maybe 4 years ago and I used them all the time, with absolutely no issues. I love them, they actually have the best bass and sound so clear for earphones.

So I was so annoyed when I lost cherished pair one day and searched high and low for replacements, but to no avail. Then shopping in Boots one day, I spotted these in the last place I’d expect to find them and repurchased immediately.

So happy to be reunited with my trusty pair.

Pros: I don’t have a lot of experience of earphones and I think these are quite reasonable for normal use. Cons: I was really looking for something more comfortable than my old ones for listening to my mini radio or phone in bed.

Unfortunately I don’t find them very comfortable for this purpose.

Pros: At first I wasn’t sure about the shape of the ear pieces but they are very comfortable. They sit better than my old ones. I listen to a lot of music in bed due to sleep problems and they are very comfortable while laying against them.

Love the red colour too.

The sound quality is great, big bass,loud, and you can use it even if the batteries are dead with the provided headphone jack. The mic quality is very poor. If you are trying to use it for phone calls you need to be somewhere quite, not outside, not in a vehicle and especially not where other people are around you.

The other person can hear everything around you better than you. For the price the mic should be better quality. Overall a good product.

I’ve owned these for approximately three years and they are an absolute joy to use. They are light weight, well padded and very comfortable. The ear cups seal well and they readily pair with my iPads.

The sound is VERY good. The highs are crisp, the mid-range solid and the bass pronounced. These are my go-to headphones.

These headphones have amazing quality sound. perfect for working out. Had my ears vibrating but the sound stays very clean and clear so having them at 100% still didnt hurt my ears. Theyre comfortable and easily a great comparable to Beats or any other high-end Bluetooth headphones.

Definitely worth the price tag!.

Good sound (for what I want – TV mostly) and excellent range compared to what I had before. House is poor for WIFI reception, but these RF headphones reach the whole house. The downside is the charging process and how it is described.

Reality appears to be that once placed on the stand, the ‘charging’ lamp will come on and stay on for 7 hours (time for ‘max charge’) regardless of the actual state of charge. (I noted that this type of charge duration was mentioned in the manual for another model.

) Also the warnings about flashing charge light and placing headphones correctly on stand only seem to apply when using non-oem batteries – Then deciding what the manual means by ‘left side of the stand’ is your guess (as you look at it with the charge light facing you is mine).

I have not experimented with non-oem batteries to find out. I presume the oem battery pack (circa £15. 00) has some fancy electronics (ie basic rectifier bridge) included to allow the headphones either way around and charge from the (measured 5v, polarised) supply in the stand.

Time will tell as to reliability.

I bought this last May. It was easy to set up and gave good sound. One problem was that they were a bit tight and uncomfortable on the ears, though I have a small head. Over the following months it became looser, often slipping off my head if I bent forward.

Today it slipped off my head and hit my knee, breaking the plastic arm connecting the left headphone just above the headphone. It had only fallen about 30 inches and I would have thought it should have survived that.

I think the plastic had become brittle after less than 12 months. I guess the 2 year guarantee won’t cover this so I will have to replace it. Incidentally my previous Panasonic headphones also broke in the same place but they lasted over five years though they cost less.

I did use these Sony headphones for hours every day. I will try to find replacement headphones with metal rather than plastic arms next time.

I purchased these to replace an earlier Sony model which had given faithful service for many years. The sound quality is excellent and they are very comfortable to wear. I particularly like the stand which incorporates the transmitter, you just have to place the headphones on the stand to recharge them.

Overall, excellent product.
