20 Best Headphones For Mowing Lawn (2023 Updated)

I don’t usually write reviews, but I’m so far blown away by this headset. I work in a noisy environment with machines and music going and I can finally hear my customers while on the phone and they can hear me well too.

We also have a shooting range on site, and I ventured out there while some. 22 LR and 9mm was being fired and it seemed very effective in regards to noise reduction. Battery life has been forever it seems.

I charged them up once fully and haven’t had to charge them and used them lightly for 6 days now. Sound quality is very good. It’s not the best I’ve ever experienced, but it is the best I’ve experienced in a package with these features for this price.

The extra buds/ear fitment pieces help too. My ears are picky and the various options help a ton. The over the ear design is also much more stable than just a typical bud. They haven’t been jostled out of my ears yet during normal work.

I could see light jogging or exercise being no problem with these, but can’t confirm how well they’d do. Overall, I can’t recommend these enough. They’re just the right price and do exactly what they should.

I’ve never heard of Elgin before making this purchase, but I will say that they really impress me, and I’m excited to see what other offerings there are in the future.

I love a lot about these earphones, and I’ve been using them for about a week in childcare setting. They have bluetooth so you can talk on the phone with them, listen to music, or simply reduce the noise, though I wish they blocked out more noise.

Water resistant helps keep me at ease when I have lots of work to do and will be sweating. I love how well it stays in my ear, with the loop on the back to make sure it’s not going anywhere. The cord around the neck does get in the way sometimes but not bad, and so far, it has not been pulled off my head.

The worst feature is the button controls. They are sticky buttons so I cannot press a button fast enough 2 times in a row to use the control features. Also, when the volume is all the way up on the earphones, it makes a beep so loud it HURTS.

I have sensory issues which is why I bought these. So as long as I don’t touch the volume control on the earphones and leave them up all the way, I don’t have to worry about the sonic blast directly into my ears.

Basically I have to use my phone to control everything but the pause and on off button. Overall I like these earphones.

The Elgin Rumble headphones I got are pretty awesome! I must say, I have purchased literally dozens of wireless, around the neck and true wireless headphones, over the years. Bose, Audio Technica, Beats, Samsung, Audio Dudios, Senheiser, Lenovo, Dewalt, Skull Candy, you name it.

these in comparison to all I’ve had are awesome in every way. They are seriously durable, comfortable, sound great, have unmatched battery life and have the best hearing protection I’ve ever experienced.

I am a Mason and working with stone can be loud and messy work. Cutting, splitting, shaping and fabricating natural stone to create custom fireplaces is hard on headphones as you may imagine. After a few months of HARD daily use these things are proving themselves to outperform and outlive the competition! I highly recommend the Rumble headphones especially if you are hard on your goods, these can take a beating while protecting you hearing from damaging sound levels.

I have been waiting for a great all round Bluetooth headphone. I am 100% disabled veteran that has been buying headphones for a long time. In the past I would buy a new pair every year. This was do the fact they would breakdown in one or two areas.

BB Fit 6100 camouflage is definitely worth the money. They are very well designed for the hardworking hard to please individuals out there. It’s hard to find active wearable headphones. I would buy this again, but I don’t think that will be for a long time.

Just got in the new BackBeat Pro 2, so Ive only had a few hours to try them out, but here are my initial thoughts. Great packaging and appreciate that Plantronics used less plastic in the box. The headphones were placed inside the included travel bag, along with the USB charging cable and audio jack and instruction manual.

Initially paired them with my iPhone 6s, which was simple. I immediately tried pairing them with my retina MacBook Pro, but the headphones at first were not showing up as an option. A few restarts and I got them connected to both the phone and laptop, but have experienced further hiccups with disconnects and nonresponsive headphone functions.

This could be an issue with my iPhone and MacBook, as Im running beta software, but will do some further testing on other devices to see if it continues to be a problem, suggesting a possible issue with either the headphone hardware or software.

The biggest difference between the Pro 2s and the Pros, is size design of the headset. The new Pro 2s are much smaller, looking more like other competitors models, compared to the Pros, which were much chunkier looking.

As for my initial impressions of sound quality and active noise suppression, the Pro 2s seem to be very similar to the Pros. Great bass response, tight but strong. The highs are clear without being overly sharp.

Ive got a pretty diverse music collection and have listened to about a dozen different genres on the Pro 2s and can say they sound great for classic music, rock, altcountry and hiphop. The active noise canceling could only be tested against a lawn mower and leaf blower that were running outside my office window, but much like the original Pros, they do a very good job filtering out most of the obnoxious droning sounds.

Ill report how they work after my next flight, next week, how they work for airline travel. The original version worked great for flying, allowing me to filter out the jets drone on a 12 hour flight and expect the same out of the Pro 2s.

I cant comment on battery life as of now, but Ill push to see if they perform as the Pros did. No reason to think they wont give the same longlasting battery performance.

As a frequent flyer 2 flights per week, I can confirm that these significantly reduce noise volumes, but do NOT totally eliminate them. For this is fine. I actually think its good that I can still have a bit of situational awareness.

If the music is off, I can still tell Im on a plane, and I can here most of the announcements. However, the noise reduction is quite meaningful I feel a huge difference in stressfatigue reduction when I wear them makes the flight far less taxing.

I have not used the BoseQ35, but even if all the reviewers are correct that Bose has stronger ANC, I dont think the additional reduction in noise would help much, and for me anyway, it certainly isnt worth the additional cost.

I have been a pro musician and soundtech, and although my aging ears can no longer qualify as golden, Im pretty picky about sound, and have some really nice speakers and headphones for home. The Plantronics Backbeat Pro 2 has very good audio quality.

If plugged in to a good headphone amp playing high quality audio files, these might be exposed as less than perfect, but given that I really only use them to listen to already compressed read degraded MP3 over Bluetooth more degraded from my smartphone, or even worse streaming audio on the go, these are great.

Once again, I think that any improvements that might be had from other ANC Wireless headsets would be negligible, at best and clearly not worth any extra cost. One problem Ive had is the automagic sensors that stop the music and ANC when you take them off even after calibration, these are not reliable and kept activating for me even when I dont move very annoying.

I turned on the feature press and hold Mute and the big button on the center of the Right phone and everything is great. Now I simply tap the big button in the center of the left phone first to pause, then remove headphones, no biggy.

Conclusion Great for what they are wireless headphones with great sound considering the source and noise cancelling that is more than good enough to greatly improve the ride on planes, trains, and automobiles passengers only.

Add in the great comfort, long battery, and almost half the price of the competition I didnt get the SE, so mine were 199 from Plantronics, and this is a very good buy.

I am on a plane approximately 45x per year and was looking for an over ear solution upon growing tired of various in earearbud devices. When I am not flying, I am on a train to my office and was looking for superior quality and ease of an upgraded device experience.

Many thanks to the folks that provided both written and video reviews of BBP2 and similar devices. I was sold on these as a result of the details I read, my experience with Plantronics in the enterprise and the feature set.

There are many similar headphones that provide similarsame features. As would be expected, each brand attempts to create a differentiated product in hopes to obtain a customer. Plantronics straighforward marketing of great all around sound, high quality and killer battery life led me to purchasing these.

Based on my research coupled with 2 months of usage, lead me to believe the BBP2 is at the low end of pricing when compared to likefeatured and quality headphones. Comfort This is critical to me. I intended to wear these 4 consecutive hours.

Real life experience has shown that 8 hours of wear is a breeze. They are comfortable on the ears, head and neck. Sound I listen to a wide variety of audio including music, soundtracks, books, etc. I decided to avoid cliches and just state that the sound is absolutely spectacularConnectivity Bluetooth has been flawless and simple.

Noice Cancellation I was not expecting this feature since I was use to buds. I am in love with the NC on BBP2. Open Mike This is another very welcomed feature that I use regularly. It is wonderful to keep the comfortable headphones on and have a conversation very easily.

It blows some folks away. Sensors One issue that may be unique to me is that the sensors that pause audio when resting the headphones on my shoulders are sometimes activated while eating. I turned this feature off and do not miss it.

It is cool and I am certain that those who use it love it. In short, I am THRILLED and can absolutely recommend these for road warriors.

Im usually not compelled to ever write reviews on products, but Ive got to say, these headphones are awesome. The quality goes beyond even the $50 LG Bluetooth headphones. There is plenty of base, the recharge isnt to long and it doesnt loose connection during the day.

I work around my studio and I can leave my phone at my desk charging ( Im talking 30 feet away). Where as, I would get choppy feedback from other products just by being ONLY 20 feet away. These headphones also never fall out of my ears when Im working out and combats sweat pretty well! I have already recommended these headphones to my employer, who definitely thanks me for the recommendation! Quit your searching/shopping and take these for a spin!.

The headphones are well designed except for the over the ear clips. The clips are made of limp structure less rubber that have no value in holding the ear pieces in place. The hole purpose of getting these headphones with this design is to keep the ear piece in place during physical activity.

With just walking, the ear piece is loose in 10 – 15 minutes. In a more active situation the time in place would be less. When lose, the clips do almost nothing to keep the ear piece in place or even on the ear.

The design should have been with malleable rubber clips with a wire structure that can be adjusted and formed to conform to the ear to hold it comfortably in place. Were it not for this gross miscalculation in design, it would have rated a 5 star.

It is rated a poor value because of the functionality and not because of the cost. Because the design renders this useless for its intended purpose, i. e. , exercise it gets a low rating.

These headphones are very easy to set up. I troed them with Youtube and was amazed st the sound quality. One of the great features is if you want to play a video in your playlist while listening you can push the forward and back buttons on them and it takes you there.

Louder and clearer than I thought they would be. Earpiece that wraps around is bigger than I thought. I havent tried them with excercise yet to know if they will fall off. But Otherwise the earbuds are comfortable and seem good for sweat repellant.

They are great for the price. I will buy as gifts for xmas.

The SONY EX155AP earphones are much smoother sounding than what I was expecting. Let me explain. The bass doesn’t have the overbearing mid bass that plagues too many in-ears. Instead bass sounds very smooth and (surprisingly) very deep.

The highs aren’t overbearing either. As a result, the midrange seems very pleasantly listenable. One word of warning. The connector is TRRS [meaning 4 conductor]. That may not work well with a TRS [meaning 3 conductor] extension cable.

That happened to me. Despite that, I still recommend the SONY EX155AP EX in-ears. They are great sounding in my opinion.

These can be fine, depending on what your purpose is for them. I got these as a backup to a pair of expensive wireless earbuds I had but was always forgetting to charge. They actually replaced the wireless ones though because they’re just more convenient, always ready to go, without needing charged or updated.

I use them to listen to podcasts, i. e. people talking, not music. For that, they sound fine. I probably wouldn’t use them for music. I use them while out walking for exercise, one in my ear and the other tucked in my shirt so I can hear my surroundings.

The cord is long enough to connect to my phone in my pocket. The cord material doesn’t cause excessive, annoying rubbing noise. I’m in Florida and it gets pretty hot and humid here, but they seem to tolerate sweat and humidity pretty well.

The fit is comfortable and doesn’t get hot. My only wish is that they have some controls on the cord for pausing, rewinding, or volume. But what do you expect for under $20? These have lasted me about two years and only now I’m getting some static on the connection and quieter sound.

I’d recommend them.

After researching, I came upon the Rampage looking to replace some old am/fm headphones for mowing, shooting etc. These are so much better in all aspects. Low profile, wireless and no wires dangling anywhere.

I really wanted to like these, they’re interesting and they have actual buttons, as opposed to touch sensitive ear-cups, which I don’t like. Immediately on opening the box I noticed that unfortunately I received a micro-usb model despite first checking with Avantree support that I would get usb-c if I ordered, and everything kept going downhill from there.

I won’t write too much here because honestly these were incredibly disappointing compared to the similarly priced Sony WH-H910N. – I read reviews that said the noise cancelling was bad. That’s wrong.

The NC is absolutely awful, there is genuinely no situation in which I would use it. It’s very nearly as bad as on the £30 no-name phones I just retired, and even at £30 I was surprised how wrong they had got it.

It completely changes the sound of what you’re listening to, making it tinny and slighly echoey. My Nokia BH-905i from 2012 (prehistoric in bluetooth headphones terms) had significantly better noise cancelling than this.

– I knew this before buying, but it’s a real shame that the mic can’t work in wired mode (they both use the same 3. 5mm socket on the left ear) – The boom mic is a cool feature, but I wish that a) there was at least some backup mic built into the body of the phones so they can still be used without the boom mic, and b) that the mute button wasn’t right on the end where the mic is!! This causes a fairly loud click/rustle sound every time you touch the button to mute or unmute yourself.

– But there’s another mute button on the headphones themselves! One should be enough, right? Shame this one is **** as well! It takes THREE SECONDS to mute or unmute you after you press the button. When you press the button to mute yourself, you are audible for a further three seconds.

When you unmute yourself, you have to wait three seconds before anyone on the call can hear you. This is simply insanity. – The personalised EQ is a really nice feature but my ears aren’t bad so I couldn’t tell the difference.

Maybe it would be noticeable if you could switch rapidly back and forth between EQ’ed and not EQ’ed. However, when you turn it on or off your music is paused for a second or two, then you hear “custom profile on/off”, another second wait, then your music is unpaused.

After this I can’t recall clearly what the sound was like before. The EQ measuring function is a bit buggy, but manageable. The app doesn’t do anything except choose between custom EQs you’ve saved. Also the app forced me to make an account even though a) there’s no good reason why you should need one, and b) I ALREADY MADE AN AVANTREE ACCOUNT on their website, to talk to their support team, but I couldn’t use that account to log in on the app.

– When audio is first sent from your source device to the headphones, the audio doesn’t come out instantly. The best example of this is if I use the button on the headphones to trigger google assistant and tell it to “count to five”, what I hear is “(short pause) two, three, four, five”.

Missing is the assistant saying “Alright: one”. – The assistant integration is nowhere near as good as on my Sony ‘phones. All it does is send an “assistance request”, which for Google assistant is the equivalent of opening the assistant app and saying tapping the microphone button.

It takes about three seconds after pressing the button for it to start listening to you, and you can’t actually tell when it starts listening. It goes: press button, half second delay, beep, two-ish second delay, (no beep!), now listening begins.

To be fair the extent of the delay is probably the fault of the phone, but the fact remains that Sony’s implementation suffers none of these issues. – The stand is an amazing idea but it’s just too easy to put the headphones down near but not on the contacts.

A redesign is needed with some kind of slope to push the headphones into the right place. – I will say that they’re comfy, and they sound fine when I listen to music. I’m not going to bother with a detailed audio quality comparison since they fail so hard in all other respects.

The physical quality is decent, though the buttons are a touch rattly, if that bothers you. They look utilitarian, as if they were office equipment given to you by your boss. Overall I’m sure these are amazing for people with hearing damage, but I can’t recommend strongly enough that everyone else stay away.

Only half an hour after taking them out of the box, they’re going right back in. They don’t deserve a 1* for audio quality, they sound fine, but so many of the extra features are badly implemented that at £130 they definitely only deserve 1* for value.

I listen to the radio while commuting by bicycle. I only use one earpiece of the headphone, so I can hear traffic as well. Over-the-head headphones have become hard to find, and I can’t bike with earbuds.

They won’t stay in. These Koss KPH14K Side Firing Fitness Headphones work perfectly for me. I bought the remaining stock: six of them. I get a couple of years from a set before the cable connection to the earpiece starts to fail, so these represent about a decade’s worth of listening.

So, if you’re looking for an old-school pair of over-the-head headphones such as you used to find with “sports” Walkmen, I highly recommend these. One caveat. These might be Out Of Stock, Discontinued Item, and as such, sold out when gone.

If you can find some, buy them.

There was a time when buds were not so popular and the only way to get in ear headphones were these types or the Sonys. They were loud, dynamic, and they stayed in my ears thanks to a headband. Not sure why these were discontinued, perhaps they were too loud for new regulations.

The en vogue buds are awful. They just won’t stay in my ears, and as much as I like the over the ears cushioned headphones for the winter they get terribly warm on those hot humid days of the summers in NE.

I was so happy to find these. The sound is clear and not overly bassy, everything can be heard well. They probably won’t last long so I plan on getting as many more as I can get.

Quality is not really “good” as just “okay” I have a pair of Sony side-firing headphones and need a new pair. Well these Koss KPH14B missed the mark. If you’re a teen or never wore this style headphones it might be decent.

But once you’ve experienced a nice pair, you’ll realize these Koss are cheap and not comfortable at all. The band is hard-plastic and it’s very tight together pushing the ear-pieces into your ears. Ouch!.

Nice good looking one for my younger one. She loves those magnetic ears on her headphones. Voice quality is ok but she is happy. You can’t expect much with this price

I bought these for my son for school and had to go back and purchase a pair for my daughter. They are durable with easily detachable antlers for safe keeping and /or after Christmas. Sound quality and comfort are good for the kiddos.

These are adorable for kids Christmas stocking stuffers and can be used year round.

I bought this set to replace my older model plantronics headset. I found my old set, and I find myself using it instead of the new one. This new one has some pros and cons. Battery lasts longer, and it connects really quickly.

Im not a huge fan of the modern touch controls. I am totally impressed with the price and Im not disappointed at all with the purchase. Its a fantastic backup set.

I’ve now had these headphones for exactly one year. I’ll start with the things that I really like about them. I use them both with my phone (Samsung S9) and with my Garmin 645 Music running watch. They can pair with both devices very easily and with updated firmware on the watch can control the volume as well.

The sound is good but not very strong in the bass. This is due to the fact that they do not seal into the ear, which is a good thing. I like to be able to hear my surroundings, and these do a fine job with that.

Often, when I encounter other runners, they seem surprised that I can hear them despite obviously having headphones on. Their range is adequate but could be better. With my Garmin watch, the watch must be worn on the right wrist as the receiver for these phones is in the right ear and the Garmin music watches are known for being weak bluetooth transmitters.

However, with the watch on the right wrist, they rarely have any drop outs. They are very comfortable and never once have I had any concerns that they may fall out. I have noticed that the reflective material on the band seems to be wearing off, but I have not shined a light on to see how well they actually reflect.

Since I do run at times in the dark, I like that they have the reflective material on the band. I have them for one year almost exactly to the day. Unfortunately, they have been getting progressively more difficult to get them to charge, as if the connector is failing.

Now, I can not get them to charge at all.

These are not the exact type that I have but their close I guess. I got mine for Christmas and they came in a duo pack; these type and the earpod type. I prefer using the studio type. They’re more comfortable and I don’t have to worry about them catching or falling out when I’m working out.

The volume is amazing, like I had to take them from my son because he’d put them up to the max and you can pretty much hear what’s going on. Connecting is really simple too.

Absolute garbage. DO NOT BUY THEM!!! Go ahead and spend the extra money on a good set of headphones! They are uncomfortable on on the ears, sound is trash, volume is not loud enough, the volume fluctuates up and down by itself when it wants to and I have the worst time trying to connect it to anything!! The only good thing about these headphones is the price, they are so cheap it does not hurt me or my wallet when I threw them away.

I’d give it negative stars if I could.

Great value, Very comfortable, and Great packaging. I find them somewhat bass heavy, but others may prefer that sound. The instructions are small print, but I did not have trouble following them. Nice to see the included cables in the box.

These “ISOtunes WIRED Noise-ISOlating Earbuds” were thoroughly Horrible! It has weird Earbuds, (the flanged one, shown in the photos was NOT one of the ones in the package I received); also, (should one bud become ususeable, or be lost), their Tips are NOT Interchageable.

I tried it with two different tips, (and since I have very narrow ear cannals), there was only one set of tips I could use. They SOUND HORRIBLE! In Audio Terms, they have absolutely NO High Frequencies (which make Music sound good).

They have none! They sound as if I’m listening to music through Cotton Balls. It is unacceptable (even if just for Voice, since (again, in Audio Terms) what makes Voices Understood, is the very thing that is missing, in these earbuds: The High Frequencies (Just ask any Old Person, with Hearing Loss, and they’ll tell you, it’s the lack of High Frequencies which makes them Hard of Hearing.

As for their Design: They seem very flimsy, without any reinforcement at the points of connection between cable and earbuds. I do not recommend these, for anything. — WARNING: About Buying from THIRD-PARTY SELLERS–Walmart physical stores are NO LONGER ACCEPTING Third Party Seller (In-Store) Returns.

While attempting to return this item at a brick and mortar store, the attendant refused to take it; she stated it was now the Customer’s Responsibility to contact the Seller, Request an RMA, print it, take it to the local shipper; (good luck if the seller’s phone voicemail is full, or when it is an incorrect number, you cannot reach them, except by email).

Just purchased and loved the noise cancelling, but not great for traveling in urban cities (need to keep abreast of environment). Sturdy cord, but is better if not mobile (gets caught/tangled). Sound quality is awesome, but not for when relaxing – do not lean on your side and put pressure on the ear bud, mine cracked and now only one side works.

Audio is superb for calls, but not so much as a mic – had too many complaints that I was not heard well enough to continue call without holding the cord close to my mouth (defeats my purpose for buying these cool looking soft ear buds).

The ear pieces are good for arriving in different sizes, but I had to constantly re-adjust.

It does filter some noise and conversations can be heard through the headphone/earplugs. The down side is that call alerts don’t come through the headphones but through the phone speaker. If the earplugs are in your ears any outside noise blocks out the phone ringer so you don’t hear an incoming call.

Tried a replacement set with the same results. Used a different brand and all worked well on my Android phone.
