20 Best Headphones For Mountain Biking (2023 Updated)

Short Story: Purpose-driven product. If you NEED/want to be able to hear your surroundings AS you listen to music or podcasts, etc. (for safety, cycling, etc. ) then you might be interested in this product.

That’s it. Don’t get them if you want sound QUALITY while listening. Long Story: I can see the benefits of being able to “be open” to your environment (we’ve all been on a bike or jogging/walking and been surprised by something like a car or dog coming up on us) but, full disclosure, I’m an audio nerd / music lover and if I’m listening to MUSIC I’m doing it for the quality/enjoyment.

I would never listen to music to drown out my surroundings when biking, that’s just not proper safety. And if I’m out on a trail/in the woods, I prefer to hear nature around me. My tests were around the house, listening to music, raking leaves in the yard, going for a walk in a local park with both music and podcasts.

I did use them for some guided meditation audio where it’s nice to listen and be able to hear house/environmental sounds around you which is part of meditation focus for distractions, when you don’t want a speaker to disturb anyone around you and don’t want to completely block out environment around you.

SOUND QUALITY is “just not there for ME” with this product. It’s an open-air speaker driver concept which simply points little speakers at your ear canals. If you’re old enough to remember the “Walkman” foam covered headsets with the metal headband, this is it.

It’s a speaker that sits over your ear but not inside, so allows environmental sound in. The “Bone Conduction” is “hey nice try but. ” – I found if you use both hands to PRESS DOWN into your ear/mandible bone area where they sit, you can get some additional quality and a bit more bass response but.

short of strapping a velcro strap or electrical tape around your head to do so. it’s NOT bone-conduction purely, FOR CLARITY – little speaker holes sending sound to your ear PLUS the silicone pads contacting your facial bones to provide sound boost.

“it is what it is” – catch them on sale if you’re at all interested. I equate them to the same thing as having a small bluetooth speaker around your neck so the sound stays with you as you move around and can hear people/things around you.

**did not test any voice-call features; no phone calls etc. **did not keep long enough to test any kind of battery life but in my couple hours of using them it stayed at 100% PROS: ~product fits comfortably, I would use these for in the office listening to podcasts / internet radio etc.

And quickly be able to remove them/put them back on. Super light silicone headband stays put and barely noticeable – did not experience the discomfort or headaches others noted. ~no interference / good range! Unlike my main bluetooth earbuds that drop in/out when my phone is simply in my pocket and walking/biking, these kept solid connection through several rooms of my house and down to the basement while phone was upstairs in the living room ~simple pairing.

Thanks for making an easy-to-pair process! CONS: ~sound quality. “It is what it is. ” – you’re not buying these for audio quality. They’re not HORRIBLE, but be aware. For voice-focused material like podcasts or “talk radio” okay they’d be fine because that audio frequency range picks up well to the ear.

But in noisy environments/heavy traffic, you’re going to lose your audio here and there BECAUSE you’re open to your environment. ~button controls. They’re tiny. The “multifunction” button on the left side is easy to access for pause/play actions.

But the right-side volume up/down/power button set are miniscule, AND. on the BOTTOM of the headband on that side of the ear. What does that mean ergonomically? Take your right hand and cup it and place it over your right ear.

Would you want to press tiny buttons, barely raised above the surface, with your thumb? Sure you will eventually develop muscle memory for your needs but I would rather use the more tactile index finger versus thumb to press a tiny button.

Full disclosure: one cannot expect a set of “headphones” to deliver quality sound when the design is “a bunch of toothpick size holes” shooting audio out in the direction of your ear, and if you actually check out where they sit, they sit in FRONT of your ear and ‘the little speaker holes’ are pointing at/contacting the little piece of flesh in front of your ear canal and not actually pointed AT your ear canal in a straight shot.

Sure, you can place the speaker part of the headphones directly OVER your ear canal but you lose low end frequency and it just sounds “more mid rangey” and then. blocks some ambient around you as a result.

Again, if you’re in NEED of a product that A) allows you to hear environment around you and B) you still WANT to listen to audio, go for it! Grab them on sale and enjoy! If you’re any kind of “audio snob” you’re not going to like these.

These are purely marketed to cyclists/athletes/people working out because the headband stays put and is super light.

I have been a long-time user of Bluetooth headphones. In the past couple of years, as earbuds have become increasingly popular, I looked at and considered purchasing Apple Air Pods Or something similar.

Truth be known, I’m fairly confident that I would lose one of the earbuds about 15 minutes after the purchase so I’m not sure that this is a viable alternative. I have historically used neckband type Bluetooth headphones so as to ensure that the device is connected to my body in some way.

This was an important feature in deciding on these particular headphones as well as other options. I have to be honest, when I first learned of these headphones, I was not sure that this was something I would like.

I do like the fact that they clipped on and bone induction seemed like a good idea, but the price was certainly much higher than many other headphones on the market and a bit of a deterrent on the surface.

Prior to purchasing these headphones, I found some comparable bone induction headphones that had good reviews on Amazon. I tried two different pairs; both seem to be OK but I was not pleased with the sound quality.

After testing out the second pair, I actually just ran to the store and purchased the AfterShokz Air Headphones so that I can easily compare them with a similar product. I have to say that instantly I could tell the difference.

Yes, in terms of price I would say that the Aftershokz Products are more expensive than similar products available on the market. However, the technology is far superior and the sound quality Is much better than comparable products.

In the end for me, it made so much more sense to spend an additional 40 to 50 bucks to get some thing that was far better than save a few dollars and be frustrated with an inferior product. It is important to note for anyone considering bone induction headphones that the sound quality will be different than what you’ve been used to with traditional headphones.

Your Ear canals will be completely open and can hear background noise around you. This is certainly a reason why people choose these types of headphones, but it is very different than what some may be used to.

It is true the deep base will be compromised; however, I have not found this to be a huge issue. For starters, if you just put some air plugs in you’ll find that you have very deep rich bass sound coming from the headphones.

When I do find an occasion when I want to completely block out the noise, I simply put in my earplugs and it completely changes the sound quality. Still, if you are seeking Bluetooth headphones to completely block out outside noise this may not be a good solution for you.

The one thing that I truly love about these headphones is that I can wear them all day long. I can have them on my head, ready to go to take calls or listen to music and I can completely hear everything going on around me.

They are great to use when shopping or in the car as you can completely take calls and also interact with people around you without any problem. I do frequently also pull them down around my neck; the band just fits snugly around my neck and hold them in place ready to use.

This too has been great for me as again I always have my headphones around me, and I do not feel like I will easily lose them when moving about my daily routine. Another great feature that I have truly come to embrace over time, and something I did not consider at the outside, is the fact that I can sync with both my phone and computer.

I facilitate many webinars And live streaming sessions, and I have found that the headphones are fantastic as I can wear them during my sessions and listen in for questions and other things happening during my live session, but the headphones are extremely discreet and on camera does not appear that I have anything on at all.

This is great as I’m able to hear things that are going on in the room around me, and also listening to student questions without having to wear larger and sometimes obtrusive headsets or headphones.

I’m not sure that there’s any significant downside to these headphones if you consider the type of headphones themselves. Again, this is a very different type of headphones. If you review some of the reviews about bone induction headphones on Amazon and other sites, You will see some people complaining about the sound quality or perhaps the volume being too low.

Some people just don’t like the way they function. The thing to really keep in mind is that you cannot compare these headphones to traditional headphones; sort of apples to oranges comparison. Yes, they are both headphones and provide sound, but these will do it in a very different way than what most people are accustomed to.

If you understand that part of it, And this is something that you were looking for, you will be very happy with the product itself. This particular model is only Bluetooth 4; I would like to see Bluetooth 5 and I am considering upgrading to one of the new products.

The battery life has generally been pretty good; the literature indicates about six hours of battery life. I would say that I have found this to be accurate more or less; I think it’s difficult taking calls throughout the day to really assess if I’m getting a full six hours of talk time out of it.

However, for the most part, I have not found any problems getting through the day and I spent a lot of time on the phone. The connectivity in range has been good; I have not found any problems operating within 30 feet or so and it seems like I can actually set my phone down and perhaps be 40 or 50 feet away from it without any problems.

The one major gripe that Comes to mind would be with regard to Connecting with two devices. I have found that when I do this and I am in proximity to both devices everything is fine. However, if I leave the house walking away from my computer for example, the device will sometimes attempt to reconnect For a period of time making little beep tones and headset.

This is the first Bluetooth headset that I’ve owned that has that capacity and so that issue may be fairly common. However, an improvement here would be nice as I’m sure this is fairly common for people who are active and on the go.

In the end, these headphones are awesome! I have had them for about 18 months and they continue to work very well. I have noticed that the battery life may not be as good as when I first got them, but that too is to be expected but it is common that batteries will degrade over time.

I am considering purchasing the new Open Comm model in the next week or so. I am primarily considering this upgrade because of the Bloom style mic; This will be a wonderful addition for streaming. Nonetheless, awesome headphones!.

My honest review (please read till the end for the tragic part) to help anyone on the fence about the powerbeats pro earbuds is that the sound is very impressive. I’ll clarify by saying it is true that the bass is not felt in your eardrum but the audio comes out very clear.

So if you value audio clarity then these are great. As far as comfort these are the only earbuds that I can wear for 9 hours without having any discomfort. I have owned several other brands including Apple pros and Bose so that is no small feat.

The battery life is phenomenal because I can actually listen to music, atleast on a moderate volume level for the full nine hours. Even better that I usually only have one in so when it dies I just switch ears and the discharged one will charge fully in 30 mins no problem.

Now for the tragic downfall and reason for the low rating. I bought mine new through att and now after the 1 year warranty has expired neither one of my earbuds stay connected for more than 45 seconds.

This is to my phone, a friends phone of another brand, my laptop, or any other device I have tried. I have been through every forum and tried every procedure to remedy this but to no avail. Unfortunately these are apparently only made to last around a year and then will be useless.

I’m not sure if this is an Apple problem or just because I purchased them through AT&T but either way it is a major disappointment and a complete failure to provide us consumers with a quality product we spent so much money on.

Do not purchase these unless you only need them for 1 year because that is about all they will last.

I really contemplated purchasing these Beats, would the high price deliver a better quality sound and experience? I was limited in options because I need the over the ear loop. Unfortunately these are something you can’t go to the store and try out and compared (I tried but wouldn’t let me open any).

Overall they are OK but probably not worth the extra cost over cheaper competitors. The sound quality is OK (initially extremely disappointed but allowed a longer break in period and sound improved to satisfactory).

Interestingly pale in comparison to the really cheap $40 generic brand set my wife purchased from Amazon-only issue with those is going in ear and I need over the ear for my workouts. I was hoping Beats brand would not have other annoying issues compared to cheaper brands like pairing Bluetooth.

So far they have failed to pair 3 times which has been rather annoying; doing nothing different those times that I can think of. Nothing worse then getting ready to hit the gym and fussing around getting them to pair (even had to Forget Bluetooth and redo completely last time) standing in the locker room wasting time.

They do come with multiple size tips and the smallest fit best. Overall my main criteria was comfort, convenience, and sound quality. They are comfortable and stay in place with workouts. Sound quality is adequate but I expected better.

BT pairing issues a pain. Conclusion: they are OK, good investment if they prove durable. Not worth retail price. Thankfully I paid 10% less but that’s still over priced. If you have the opportunity to try other brands my guess is you’ll find you get as good of experience for less money.

Over paying by 20% for the brand name.

There Powerbeats are good but not great, especially for the price. Frankly, I’m a bit disappointed. First, the good points. I very much prefer having earhooks on my earbuds and these work nicely and are comfortable.

I considered getting Apple AirPods but they aren’t available with earhooks. I like the Powerbeats compact size. The controls are very well thought out and I also like that they’re the same on both buds so I can use either hand.

Furthermore, it’s great that the buds can be used one at a time instead of only both. This is helpful for maintaining ambient awareness when exercising outdoors because there’s nothing in one ear. Now for the not so good things about these Powerbeats.

The bass leaves much to be desired. The highs and mid-ranges are quite good but not stellar. Another problem with them is that there’s no feedback when placing them in the case to charge to assure the buds have good contact with the contacts in the case.

As a result, I recently took them with me to my car dealer to use while waiting to get my vehicle serviced and only one was charged. Very annoying. Now, when placing them in the case, I jiggle each bud to assure it’s solidly in contact with the case’s contacts.

I don’t think the Powerbeats justify the high price. They’d be a decent purchase if they were on sale for at least $50 less, but not they’re MSRP.

Wish I could love this headset, and I tried for over two years to like them, but honestly I am still quite disappointed. When I purchased them it was for around $170 which I realize is much more than the current price.

First the good, the headphones sound above average, fit well, and have a fair amount of bass especially if you use the jabra elite app equalizer to add more bass. However, the case is deeply unsatisfying and holds a subpar charge.

The earbuds are even worse and last for no longer than 2-3 hours even though they claim 5 hours minimum battery life. Additionally, if they are placed in the case at even slightly the wrong angle, they will not charge, and the next time you go to use your headphones they will be dead.

This happens to me frequently, sometimes even after they are placed perfectly in the case, leading me to believe that shaking in my pockets causes the prongs to lose connection, which is completely unacceptable.

Additionally, these headphones usually take well over a minute to actually start playing sound back from my device. They will say they are “connected” but won’t actually play any sounds for over a full minute.

Finally, if the volume is turned above 3/4 strength, there is a very clear, and very annoying, “hissing” that can be heard. Overall I do not recommend this product and am searching for a quality replacement.

I thoroughly researched wireless headphones and was stoked to get these Jabra headphones on sale. However. Unfortunately right from the beginning the in-ear fit has been pretty poor, particularly in my right ear.

No matter which size bud I use, or how many time I rotate the bud to lock in my ear, it undoubtedly slips out. Particularly frustrating is when you are running in the dark practically keeping your hand at the ready to catch the bud before it bounces away into the dark.

And might I add the music stops every time the right bud slips out (I’m sure there’s a way to fix this in the settings but I haven’t had enough of a satisfying experience with these to bother). The sound quality is good enough for me.

Personally I find the design pretty bulky and am surprised that they dont fall out of everyone’s ears, being so heavy on the outside. Best Buy does not accept returns on head phones which is very disappointing and inflexible seeing as you cant try them before buying.

If you’re thinking about buying these for yourself, consider if you ever have difficulty with ear bud fits and maybe reconsider.

I was looking for a pair of wireless earbuds that I could use for work or for execercise. they are just what I was looking for. I dont even notice that they do not hve noise cancelling. the sound quality is fantastic.

my only complaint is the case quality. the earbuds do not “click” into their slot. and to open the case you need to put pressure on the plastic. I don’t see this lasting which at some point will make the earbuds useless.

the sound quality from the earbuds is fantastic I have a pair of JBLs that sound like everything is in a tunnel. these buds though sound like I am “right there” with whatever I am listening to. for phone calls I have been told the microphone is clear.

though I have been told the mics are extremly sensitive (I have been told that callers have heard some intense background noise when I was peeling potatoes. #multitasking. ). I would also add the battery life has not been a problem for me.

comfort wise I almost dont know they are in my ear after a while I was concerned that they would be uncomfortable for me as most in ear buds are. but their eargels seem to be designed well.

I write software that utilizes a lot of text to voice and use of the voice assistant. I’ve worn aftershockz bone conduction products for years. Buying new versions, losing them, finding them again means I have a pile of these headphones and they are perfect for what they are.

The Google assistant experience however is atrocious compared to the competition. The Sony linkbuds s and the pixel buds are currently the experience to emulate. When I want to speak to the assistant those just work every time.

With any of the Shockz products this is woefully not the case at all. The tone to start speaking is laggy, then the delay to enable the microphone cuts off the beginning of what was said more often than not.

It’s nearly useless. The new Bluetooth standards and apis are all there and the competition appears to utilize these all properly. The experience makes me feel like no one at Shockz actually uses the feature or is aware how poor it is compared to the competition.

This is even the case on your newest most top of the line product, which I bought believing this problem may have been fixed. Sadly I don’t use them much compared to the open run Mini’s that have a better fit.

I wrote this up because deep down I just want to have headphones always on me without compromise. If Shockz were to come to market with an assistant experience that isn’t outright frustrating I’d wear them for the rest of my life and buy every new version you release as the years go on.

I bought these after borrowing my partner’s Aeropex for over a year. I was surprised to see that Aftershokz was now just Shokz, the aeropex are now called “openrun”. I assumed it was just a name change and ordered my pair, excited to have my own.

I was so disappointed when I first used these headphones- although they look almost exactly the same, you can tell they changed something about them. We did a blind sound test with the Openrun and previous Aeropex and both my partner and I could tell which ones were the Openrun.

The sound quality is a little worse, not super noticeable but once I realized they sound more muffled I can’t unhear it. The main annoyance is when the volume is turned up high (not all the way, anything over around 75%), the headphones vibrate a little bit.

Specifically the part distributing the sound right outside your ear, so it’s just a constant tickle that can be so annoying. I love some things about the headphones, they allow me to listen to music/podcasts and hear my surroundings, which has been helpful in all sorts of situations.

This version also charges a lot faster than the prior, but they also seem to run through battery faster. I used to charge the Aeropex maybe once/week with regular use, but I have to charge the Openrun every 1-2 days.

It’s not a huge deal since they charge so quickly, but something to keep in mind depending on your use. Ultimately I don’t think I’d repurchase. It feels like the company changed the quality while hiding behind a “new and improved” battery, which feels gross and exploitive.

They’re pretty expensive for the issues that come with it. Really disappointed in these changes :(.

They don’t have my exact model on here, but holy moly. I will never go back to regular earbuds or airpods, headphones, you name it. I’m done with them! I have small ear holes and most of them hurt, get lost, broken, sound like crap.

Aftershoks tell you how much battery is left when you turn them on, you can’t lose just one, AND they don’t go in your ear at all! They sit in front of your ear kind of against your cheekbone. It sounds just like they’re in your ear though! It’s not disorienting at all.

I can listen to a podcast and still hear my kids cuz there’s nothing in my ears. I can go for a run and still hear cars or people approaching. If you can’t tell I seriously love these things. Everyone should try them.

So I was tired of buying cheaper Bluetooth headphones and not having them last long. I know $80 isn’t super expensive compared to some of the $500+ headphones on the market but when you’re used to buying $30 Bluetooth headphones, $80 trekz is a jump in price.

Overall the product isn’t great. I got them 8 months ago, sound quality wasn’t fantastic or super loud. I bought them since I work in construction I could still hear while listening to music in the background.

They’re either too quite or you have to put in ear plugs to make them louder which defeats the purpose of what I was trying to achieve. Last week I was taking them off my head when the plastic at the ear snapped.

I went to the place I bought them and they said Trekz won’t cover it under warranty unless it’s a manufacturer defect. Don’t waste your money on such a cheap quality product.

I had my Trekz Titanium Aftershocks for over a year. They were a decent pair of headphones that didn’t cover the ear, allowing you to hear noises around you. That worked exceptionally well when running, especially if you running on the road in the neighborhood.

Not good if you were mowing, as not loud enough and let the noise in from the lawn mower. One day I went to get them and the ear piece on one side had falling out. Was able to find it but that side didn’t work anymore.

I bought mine off of a Good Morning America Show special or $50.

I had the opportunity to try these and the new Beats Fit Pros (aka, beats airpods pro without a stem and with the “wings” to lock on your ears), and ultimately I went with the Fit Pros, ANC, ease of use and most importantly, ear seal weighed on that decision.

Prior to the Fit Pros being released, I wanted to get one of these Powerbeats badly, as the Airpod Pros (which I also own) keep trying to slide/escape my ears whenever I put them on, I decided to go with something that would ease my anxiety so I’d stop looking like a cat in grooming overdrive caused by falling $100-replacement-per-pod Airpods Pro and just enjoy some music and move freely.

Then, once I got the Powerbeats, I understood why people highly recommended them – it’s not studio level sound quality (wireless should be a dead giveaway on that), but for the money it’s decent, my only problem with these were the ear tips, and they have 4 different sizes! None of them provided a good seal, either being too small, or too big for my canal, and I don’t want to enlarge my ear canal to hear even more bad news, so thank you.

But other than my personal fitment issues, controls were fairly easy to use, easy to set them on a charging case, and to adjust the arc that goes over your ear. Another problem though was the charging case, I got too spoiled by my Airpod Pros and wanted something pocketable, this isn’t it.

Build quality is better than the one for the Fit Pros, especially the Airpod pro-style hinges, but this is bigger than a personal wifi hotspot, arguably thicker than a nicely padded walled (with cards and cash) so not something you can throw into any pocket.

All in all, I’d recommend it if you don’t care for noise cancellation, charging case size AND you have an abundance of lightning cables around. If money is no object to you, and like myself you want a drama free gym experience with better features (even though it doesn’t pack the punch these ones do on bass), and all in a small case that almost fit the coin pocket of your jeans, get the Fit Pros.

I purchased these headphones to use while running. They have been fantastic for listening to music while on the run. I love the charging case & iPhone compatibilities. The color is nice as well. Overall, a good product & a fantastic update over my previous wired Apple headphones.

Few issues: 1. Several people have commented that they can’t hear me properly when using the mic on these headphones. Would not recommend to use if you will be speaking to people frequently on these.

2. You can easily misalign the headphone within the charging case. If the earbud isn’t properly contacting the two contact points within the case, it will not charge. Difficult to easily tell if it is charging.

3. The headphones don’t have amazing noise cancellation. I work out in a gym where folks are playing volleyball (loudly) and I have to turn up the volume quite a bit before I can hear my music through these ear buds.

4. The carrying case is bulky & slippery. When compared against the air pods case, it is ridiculously large. Even accounting for the ear loops, I think the design could be streamlined further. As a woman, the case rarely fits in any pockets.

I find myself carrying just the earbuds separately in my pocket on the way to the gym.

I had never heard of bone conducting headphones until recently and thought they may be some sort of scam. But they are real, they aren’t expensive and they work well. I use them for my morning walks and I’m able to hear my surrounding sounds such as approaching cars and other walkers and push bike people which I couldn’t do before with inner ear headphones.

I find the sound quality for spoken media such as podcasts and audiobooks to be fine but I found music lacks base. But that is a fair trade off for the safety of hearing my surrounds and I’m not looking for high quality sound on my walk as long as there is a bit of music or a podcast to keep me occupied.

I found them to be lightweight and fit over the top of my glasses easily and comfortably. They’re also handy for if I’m driving in a car that does not have Bluetooth. I can listen to my stuff and yet here other vehicles around me.

Pairing was simple and pain-free. They get a big thumbs up from me.

My first bone conducting headphones, and I am impressed. The Openmove is very light, comfortable, solid and the most importantly: I can fully hear what is happening around me when I use them. I had some issues pairing the headphones with a second source, but this is mainly because you need to slowly follow the instructions step by step.

If you do something wrongly there is a factory reset, and you can start again. As many reviews point out: due to different sound transmission (bones, not air) it appears to be impossible to achieve good bass, the low frequencies are simply not there.

But apart from that sound quality is very good, clear, loud. The connectionrange is also very good: I can walk around a large room with no dropouts, I did not check the microphone yet, I do not have any use for it.

Another small issue is that with the headphones on your head it is almost impossible to rest your head on a pillow because of the rear headband. Again, I am not sure that this is something the manufacturer can solve, as the band needs to be a bit stiff to hold the headphones to your head, so a softer design would cause it to keep falling when exercising.

So, apart from a few peculiarities overall for me they are absolutely perfect. I will be ordering a second pair for my wife.

I have both the Run XTs and the original Vistas true wireless buds. I bought a second pair after believing that I had lost them in a move. Come to find them after I purchased the new earbuds, unfortunately.

Anyway, the XTs offer a solid range, offer a reasonable range with bass notes, and came at a competitive price. I like the ‘hard button’ on the Run XTs but can be uncomfortable in your ear after a period of time, and fall out of your ear easier when you work out.

The Vista’s improve on this and a few other obvious areas from the Run XT. Areas like user interface, ergonomics, and durability, and maintain untarnished sound quality. Overall, they were a solid release, but 80% there, I would go with the Vistas.

The Vista 2s look promising as well. And address a few other tactile / durability quibbles I have as well. Maybe I’ll upgrade myself?.

This is my second pair that I bought. they are awesome when they are new BUT after a while they start to degrade. What I mean is they will start cutting off for no reason and go to another setting. When I cut my grass they ALWAYS cut off or switch songs for no reason, this happens ONLY when.

I cut my grass, this I dont understand. Now Im having a problem with them not holding a charge. I keep them charged up so when I use them they will be full. i just went on a 50 minute run and already”battery low” WHAT?? so, time to get rid of these and get another one.

Im thinking of getting another pair BUT in a couple of years will. I have the same problem?? maybe I should try BOSE and see how they hold up. BOSE has a good reputation. I saw a pair of BOSE ear buds in Walmart for about the same price.

All in all I like JBird Run BUT they do degrade over time.

Two years later and I’m still using the first pair I purchased. My concern was them no longer working due to excessive sweating: I do 60 minutes of HIIT 3x a week and sweat like a racehorse. Two years later and the buds are still working.

Pros: fits in my ears like a glove, sweat proof, fast charge. The only con is that now I noticed the battery life isn’t lasting as long as when I first purchased them. I get about 2 hours of use before it warns me I have only 20% battery life left.

The good news is that I can pop them back in the case and in 5 minutes I’m back to a full charge. I’m not sure what the issue is with the case that someone mentioned. You put them in and close the case shut which is pretty secure.

No, it isn’t “snug” in the case but it doesn’t move around after you shut the case. 🤷🏾‍♀️ The light tells you it’s charging.

I purchased 2 sets of the black Rockville earphones, they have great sound very lite weight and comfortable. However and I have emailed the company and as of yet not gotten a response or refund or replacements, one set only holds a charge for 10 minutes and the other set right around 15 minutes.

So if your looking for a long time to use them, I do not recommend these earphones. Very disappointed in making this purchase.

The ear buds are really cheaply made and they won’t stay connected to each other and to my Pixel XL. The wires are really short also. I wouldn’t by them again,! There are better ones out there that are better for a few bucks more.

I can’t tell you how the sound quality is because I can’t keep them connected long enough to try.

This headset rocks! Clear sound, awesome bass and great battery life! Truly awesome! And only about 20 dollars!! Cant be beat!

I bought these to replace a very inexpensive unbranded pair that I lost. Im less happy with these. My #1 priority, which I was hoping these would be better at but arent really, is that they fit my very small head.

I swapped the smallest silicon earbuds out for another pair that were slightly smaller on yet another unbranded pair of old headphones Ive got. Theyre still a little too big and dont fit that well. Additionally, theyre kinda just bulky with the cable.

I want lightweight (my unbranded ones were better). The middle section of cable is heavy. Why are there two big chunks rather than just one? It makes it easier for them to fallout of my ears. The battery seems good (I havent even used it for a full charge).

Im also perplexed. When I take a call it seems to jump back to the phone. Wtf. The whole point of getting them was to easily have calls on it. But Im unsure whether Ill need to answer a call on my phone or headset.

Usually phone and then transfer the call to the already on and previously working headset. I wouldnt get these again. Still on a search for teeniest earbuds with lightest weight wire between them that work well.

At least Im not really miffed bc these ones were still so cheap. But I like my $8 unbranded lost ones more. Sigh.

These earbuds are a little bigger than some of the other earbuds I have had, yet they don’t feel any heavier. The comfort is a little off at first while wearing these buds, as they need to fit pretty snug for the proper acoustics, and so that they don’t fall out during workouts, or other activities.

However you do get used to them, and it’s a nice point of relief to know that you aren’t going to have to go searching for them if you turn your head too quickly. Once you get used to them, it’s easy to forget you even have them in.

The sound is very clear during phone calls, and the 4 mics do an excellent job at transferring your voice to the other caller clearly. The Sidetone feature gives you an audio feedback of your own voice so that you are not raising your voice or yelling in an effort to hear yourself talk.

Most people don’t realize how important that feedback is when using a headphone system, until they either see someone else doing it, or someone else clues them in that they are yelling. The Sidetone feature can be turned on or off through the phone app, and offers two levels of feedback.

While I didn’t notice it advertised, I have been able to use the earbuds one at a time. Each earbud offers the assistant feature, plus the buttons can be programmed as needed with the mfr app, so you should be able to add whatever features you use most to either bud.

The app doesn’t offer a ton of functionality, but it does give you preset EQ settings, a custom EQ setting and custom button functionality. The button actions can be swapped around (as noted before) or disabled.

It also lets you switch between the “Aware” and “Focus” features. The charging case also seems just a little bulkier than the others, but the earbuds and the case can provide you with 27 hours of use.

Each bud can last for around 9 hours. These buds do offer a type of rapid charging, giving you an hour’s worth of play from just a ten minute charge. The case because it is a little bulky does come with a lanyard, so you can hang it from other things like a belt loop, bicycle bars, backpacks or other items.

However the lanyard is too small to fit around your head and wear around your neck. The adaptive sound system is pretty interesting with the 2 modes: focus mode ( which tries to reduce outside noises) and the aware mode ( which lets more ambient noise in).

The aware mode reproduces the outside noises and includes them into whatever you are listening to. The focus mode doesn’t repeat any outside noises, so the earbud by itself cancels out a lot of the surrounding noises.

To further emphasize these two modes, Sennheiser includes two different types of earbud adapters( the inner ear rubber piece). One of the two types is lighter (the “open” adapter)and lets more sound pass through it, the other is more dense (the “closed” adapter)and blocks out more of the ambient noises.

You would think that the best sound experience would be from the focus mode with the “closed” earbud adapters, but honestly I prefer the sound quality and bass from the “closed” adapter and the “aware” mode.

For me, for some reason the bass seems to get lost in the focus mode especially with the closed adapters. There are a few different combinations to choose from, and each has their bonuses for using. Another thing that I have noticed is that placement of how these buds are angled into your ear canal is crucial.

Make sure you are using the correct size adapters and fins, because otherwise you might not have a tight enough fit, or the speakers could be angled in the wrong direction, instead of centered down the ear canal.

If the sound just doesn’t sound right, then there is a good chance things are not lined up. Try holding and angling the buds into different positions for the best enhanced sound, with the correct adapters and fins it should stay in that position.

These are sweat and water resistant, however large drops of water can trigger the touch buttons on the earbuds Overall these earbuds offer a great variety of options on how you can listen to your music, podcasts, stories or calls.

With the right EQ setting, earbud adaptes, and mode you should be able to accommodate any type of audio under any circumstances. The audio levels can max out at 110dbs and can produce bass good enough to feel the impact.

At first glance these the True Sport Wireless are fairly beefy for a sports focused earbud although they seem less heavy than they look. The big pluses for me are the great sound that Sennheiser is known for and the price point is not bad for Sennheiser quality.

Included in the package are 2 sets of 3 silicone ear adapters (1 set being open for the “AWARE” or ambient noise and the other for “FOCUS” or ambient noise reduction). Also included are sets of silicone fins that allow you to get the proper fit to hold the buds in place in the ear even during workouts.

It does strike me a bit funny that they don’t have active noise cancelling but that may have driven the price point up. Several competing brands have active noise canceling a little more than these cost.

Also included is the charging case with wrist lanyard and a charging cable. Noticeably missing is a charging adapter but you can charge through a computer, laptop or another device’s brick. Battery life is around 9 hours of play time which should be a good day’s worth of activity.

The rechargeable carrying case comes with USB A to USB C charging cable which should bring total of 25 plus hours of play between charges. Charge time is about 90 minutes but you can get about an hour of play time with a 10 minute quick charge.

These are dust and splash resistant but not waterproof. They should be great for workouts, running and cycling but stay away from water sports. Bluetooth connectivity is a breeze and I got these paired to multiple devices without a problem.

Download the smartphone app that allows for controlling equalizer and any custom settings. Unfortunately you need an account to be able to save custom settings. I don’t know about you but I really don’t want an account for every peripheral (earbud, headphones, speakers, mice, keyboards, etc… ) but that seems to be the new norm.

If you are looking for a good pair of Sennheiser earbuds it’s hard to go wrong with these. I usually cycle for exercise so I might get by with using these in the “AWARE” setup otherwise I’d be content in just using these as my daily use earbuds.

Some of the best sounding noise cancelling earphones I have tried for the price! These are awesome!

They sound great, they fit very well on my iphone via bluetooth! The internal Li battery should last a lifetime and is charged via usb to a computer. 100% recommended

Very nice headphones and sound great especially with the noise cancelling and the ability to charge while listening to music. It is a huge plus not to carry around that stupid adapter too (something else to loose ).
