20 Best Headphones For Big Heads (2023 Updated)

I was very excited to receive the Bowers and Wilkins PX7 S2 Noise Cancelling headphones as I frequently travel for work. A good pair of noise-canceling headphones is always a welcome addition to my travel kit.

The headphones themselves are stylish and, at first glance, are very similar in design to their predecessor – the PX7. The headphones are pretty light, and the black color makes these headphones fly under the radar – nothing too flashy here.

The box and packaging are also pretty minimalist; inside the box is the zippered headphone case containing the headphones and a quick start guide. The case is excellent – it’s not a hard side case, but it’s not entirely soft – and I expect it to last a long time in my backpack while keeping these headphones protected as these headphones are in my backpack and it goes through airports and being shoved under airplane seats and such.

I was somewhat disappointed with the fact that these headphones did not come with a charging cord – but it wasn’t until a few days after having these that I found the case itself has a compartment that opens that contains both a USB-C charging cord as well as a 3.

5mm to USB-C for wired listening. A little iconography or note on the compartment within the case itself would be helpful. The headphones fit my head well, but they have a good bit of clamping force that I find uncomfortable.

Granted, my head is a bit on the larger side – so keep this in mind if you have a more giant head. The clamping got so uncomfortable that I was constantly adjusting the position of the headphones on my head during use, and I would have to take them off after 45 minutes or so for a break.

The ear cups accommodate my ears fairly well and form a good seal around the ear, mainly in part to the clamping force of the headband. I did not find these super comfortable to wear around my neck as I see other travelers do with over-the-ear headphones in airports, but that is likely due to how I’m built – I don’t have a thin neck.

I found that I had to wear these on my head or take them off to be comfortable. One of the features of these phones is the Bowers and Wilkins App. I downloaded the app from the Apple App Store quickly on my iPhone 12, and after installation, I had to set up an account with an email and password.

After the app is installed and appropriate permissions are granted (like the ability to use Bluetooth), the app is ready to search for your new headphones. I did have a bit of poor luck getting the app to recognize the headphones.

It took a few rounds of turning the headphones off and on, rebooting the phone, and ultimately uninstalling and re-installing the app. Finally, I was able to get the headphones to detect the headphones.

From the app, you can change the mode of the headphones between noise canceling, pass-through, or off. Noise canceling is the obvious prominent feature of these headphones, and pass-through allows outside sound to come through the headphones while content is playing through the headphones, and off is simply no noise cancellation or pass-through.

The app also allows you to toggle features like head detection, which will pause the content playing when you lift one of the phones off of your ear to perhaps have a conversation with someone – this feature worked pretty well when I used it.

Still, it did take a moment to notice that it was lifted from my ear. The app also has a built-in equalizer of sorts, allowing you to adjust bass or treble above or below the neutral point to your liking.

One thing that was somewhat annoying about the app is that I had to also pair the headphones with the phone – it seems the app uses Bluetooth to directly control the headphones even though the headphones are not paired with the iPhone’s Bluetooth settings.

Also, the app will pop up every time you turn the headphones on if it is installed on your phone and the headphones have been mated to the app – which is a bit distracting. Most of the time, I simply want to put my headphones on and listen.

I would consider the sound quality on these headphones excellent, probably the best out of the noise canceling headphones I have or have tried recently. They have what I would consider a bright sound, which I prefer.

The Bass response was good, and the headphones performed well at high volumes. Sound quality can be a subjective assessment, but I can’t say anything but positive things about the sound these put out.

When it comes to noise canceling, these do an adequate job in my office and on an airplane. I took these on a recent business trip and sat in the exit row of a 737-900 on a two-hour flight while listening to music and watching a movie downloaded from Netflix on my iPad.

They did a reasonably good job at keeping the noise of the airplane out – good enough that if I did not focus on the noise canceling feature, I could enjoy my movie in peace and not notice the background noise of the cabin during my movie.

However, in an office setting, I can hear people having a conversation. I can’t make out what is being said, but I can still discern conversations happening outside my headphones unless I listen at a higher volume level.

What I did like, is that when the noise cancellation feature was on, the sound being delivered was still very crisp – in the past, on other noise-canceling headphones, I’ve had experiences where the noise canceling creates a notable decline in sound quality – the PX7 S2 performed well here.

Pass-through mode is OK – I found myself taking off one earcup if I had to have a conversation with someone. There are a lot of great things to say about these headphones. Still, there are a few things that I did have challenges with – the location of the buttons – I have larger hands, and though some buttons have textures to help discern where they are on the headphones, I found I frequently pressed the wrong button when I meant to turn the volume up or down.

Also, I tried accepting a call while wearing these headphones, and there was either no mic or it was not working correctly – as the other party could not hear me until I returned to using the iPhone’s earpiece/mic or speakerphone.

Lastly, the leather that is on the earcup on one side of these headphones seems to be improperly installed as it’s bunched up / wrinkled in a spot – not something I would expect from a product from Bowers and Wilkins or any product at this price range – but this is likely a one-off thing that slipped by QC.

One thing that I can’t complain at all about is battery life. I used these for a few flights, and I didn’t have to charge these – battery life is fantastic. Overall, these are a solid option if you’re looking for noise-canceling headphones if you can live with a few of the drawbacks I’ve highlighted above that are not related to sound quality.

Have you ever stayed at a hotel or eaten at a restaurant that just feels too nice, to the point where you don’t feel like you belong there? The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 headphones are really, really nice.

perfect in some ways it seems. with only a few very minor drawbacks in form and function. These are everything I expect from premium consumer headphones, and may just unseat my favorite headphones of all time.

Because so much of this product is good or great, I’m going to start this review with the bad. Not suprisingly, the app needs some work (it’s rare to find a “good” companion app for headphones in my experience).

Every time the headphones pair, the app launches, which makes for a not-so-seamless experience using whatever it is you’re using when you power these on. The app itself has some very basic EQ settings, but I’d love to be able to further tailor my listening experience.

The app does so little for the listening experience that I’d suggest you not download it at all, if not for needing periodic firmware updates on the headphones. Next: I appreciate that these headphones can be used both wired and wireless, for those folks out there with external DACs who want to take full advantage of these.

However, the only port available on these is the USB-C port, so using them wired requires they be powered on. It’s not ideal, but considering I very rarely use wired connections anymore, it’s not that big of a deal breaker for me.

Finally, there’s the size, weight and fit. My current favorite headphones are the Sony WH-1000XM4, and a big selling point of those headphones is that they are extremely light weight (without feeling cheap), they fold up into a pretty small case, and I can wear them for what feels like days without discomfort.

The Px7 S2, by contrast, are heavy. It’s not so heavy that it’s a problem, and I’d argue that their heft suggests a durability that perhaps the XM4 headphones don’t have, but it’s still worth noting.

The clamping force on these right out of the box is anything but trivial, I’ll chalk that up to having a big head. And while the ear cups rotate both directions to allow the headphones to sit flat, they still don’t fold into as compact of a package.

Keep in mind–I know these are very nit-picky, and if you’ve made it this far and you’re still interested, it’s smooth sailing from here. Regarding what I expect out of a pair of premium headphones: great design, great build, premium materials, soft ear cups.

there don’t seem to be any shortcuts on the quality of the product. The sound is solid at all frequencies, and these headphones are just as good for music as they are for movie consumption (note: I wouldn’t mind compatibility with Apple’s spatial audio, but I recognize that’s a very specific ask).

There are physical buttons on the cups that are clicky, simple to operate, and easy to understand; no touch controls here, which is a nice change. The noise canceling, as far as I can tell, is second to none.

Still, the WH1000XM4 and Apple’s Airpod Pro seem to be my personal “front runners” when it comes to noise canceling, but B&W take it to another level with these headphones. The exterior mics are also incredible, as I was able to use these for conference calls without the other party missing what I heard or complaining about the connection or sound quality.

These are hands down some of the best (if not THE best) headphones for phone calls that I’ve used. The catch, of course, is the price tag: $400. They are without a doubt better headphones than the XM4s from Sony (with a couple of caveats based on personal preference), and because of that they are my new favorite headphones.

But $400 is a lot to swallow for a pair of headphones–maybe justifiable if you use them all the time, for work and play, but as time goes on it’s becoming harder and harder to make outright bad headphones when you’re charging at least $200 for them.

These are slick, sleek and they sound great, and if you can overcome a high price tag, you will not be dissatisfied.

Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones are amazing headphone made for everyday and all-day use. These headphones are very comfortable to wear, fit great and most importantly sound amazing with their new custom designed 40mm drive unit, active noise cancellation and transparency mode all while looking aesthetically beautiful.

These are premium headphones that deliver premium sound, comfort and design. The headphones have aluminum and cloth construction but a solid and almost a luxury feel to them yet are lightweight. The Px7 S2 have proven themselves in variety of uses such listening to music, watching movies, and most importantly, to me, while traveling.

I travel a lot for work and needed headphones that are comfortable to wear for extended periods, have active noise cancellation and sound good. The Px7 S2 took home the gold in all three fields. The headphones come in a nice carrying case that actually keeps your investment safe and secure while not in use, unlike some of the other ridiculous carrying cases provided by the other manufacturers.

The case also has a nice compartment inside to store the provided USB-C to USB-C charging cable and a USB-C to audio jack. The design of the carrying case has also been slimmed down so that is easily able to fit in your backpack or even to carry with you.

The setup process is rather simple, slide up the power button until the blue light flashes and your done. You can start enjoying your new headphones. Usually, I would recommend that you download the application that comes along with the product to take full advantage of the features, but in this situation the app really does not have much to offer.

Yes, you do have the option to adjust the EQ, but I did not feel the need to you can only adjust the Bass and Treble. The app also allows you to control the active noise cancellation, but that can be done with the press of a button on the headphones themselves.

The app is a bit lacking and does not offer much in terms of functionality. Now, in terms of comfort, I love them. The leather covered ear cushions are amazing for extended wear. I used to use noise cancelling ear buds before I got these because the noise cancellation on the earbuds was amazing, but after wearing those in for extended period my ears would start to hurt.

That is no longer the case the S2. I used these headphones on an 8-hour flight and there was not discomfort at all combined with the much-improved noise cancellation that I fell asleep with these on.

The active noise cancellation on the S2 is much better than the previous model, and they did a amazing job blocking out the surrounding noise. The battery life is pretty much the same as the as the older version of about 30 hours.

The control on these headphones are all physical buttons and one cool added feature with these headphones is that to pause the music all you need to do is lift one of the ear cups and the music will automatically pause and once you are ready to jam out again simply put the headphones back on and press play.

Overall, I am impressed and very happy with the new Bower & Wilkins Px7 S2 headphones. Its everything you would expect for a premium brand, you get a premium product that sounds great, fits greats and looks great.

I watched the ad for these headphones, and the bluetooth connectivity was my motivation, and for the price, why not buy. I got them at Christmas 2021, but did not open and use until April. My main interest was for when I mow my lawn.

I had been using my Bose, and did not like having to deal with the cord to my iPhone. These headphones connect almost instantly. I like the voice inside telling me when they’re powered on and when in the noise cancelling mode.

The other things I like, and recommend are: easy to feel volume buttons. the large L and R inside the headset, the degree of noise cancellation when noisy lawn mower killing my ears, easy not stick adjustment band.

Had I known these were so superior at this price, I would have grabbed the 2nd pair promotion at $59. I sincerely recommend this headphone. I have gone thru 2 sets of Bose ear cushions, and will not buy them again.

I also like the choice of colors beyond the ubiquitous black! Where were these 3 years ago? I saw the ad on YouTube because I don’t mind the occasional ad and I learn about new stuff.

I have been searching for quality headphones under $100, and after buying and returning several I have found the winners. I purchased the color Cloud and it is not only stunning but the sleek style makes them stand out from all others.

My standard for sound comes from previously owning Bose headphones and these are definitely comparable. Clarity across every genre of music is a dealbreaker for me and these proved themselves to be high quality through every song I tested them on.

The noise canceling blocks all white noise but isn’t so strong that a crowded space would be silent. The battery life is great and I can wear them for hours without them feeling uncomfortable. Honorable mention to the packaging that is equally as beautiful as the headphones.

There is no need to break the bank when these exist and I highly recommend giving them a try.

Makes this 4. 5 stars…no option for the 1/2 star rating…Clearly the front runner for sound quality and comfort, battery life and surprising noise “cancellation” despite not being billed as having this feature.

Bass and mid range being rich, full tones. Why ding them for a half star? No case- would be outstanding to have a case for ease of travel. Picky you say? Not relevant? Listen, with sound quality this good, super comfort level and easy pairing with devices, outstanding battery life, you can only start to look for things wrong.

Purchased 1 month ago. Only ever use indoors, never dropped, never gotten wet, always stored and charged properly. Only have used 7 times. They were great 4 times. Without any outward reason why they now sound like your swimming around under water and I have to have my device turned up 100% to hear them at all, have tried my hesh evo headphones with two other devices , and I have cross tested those devices with two separate Bluetooth speakers I have – everything but the hesh evo headphones connect flawlessly and sound perfect.

Both speakers were not an issue with my phone or my tablet and laptop, the only issue was the Skullcandy hesh evo headphones. Across all devices they were the same, devices only 2-4 feet separation non-existent volume and connectivity issues (or spotty or the headphones just failed I’m not sure because I can barely hear the output).

Here’s the worst part and the most glaring problem with this tho, this is the second pair. Exact same issue. They sit in a case when not being used, I listen to YouTube videos and put them back in the case when not in use.

Always follow correct charging and operating instructions and this is the second pair that has done this. I have always recommended skull candy to anyone discussing headphones as they have always been a budget friendly option that still produces good low end and I have been buying their wired earbuds for years.

After these Hesh evos I think I’m gonna buy from another company they don’t seem to make a good product anymore.

Bought these to replace my hesh 3s as they still worked but the plastic holding the speakers to the frame snapped after about 3 years of almost daily use. I am partly comparing these to the older Hesh 3, which overall I think functioned better than this “newer” Evo model.

Pros: Affordable Fits well Great sound quality. Cushioning fits around the whole ear nicely to stop noise leakage (so people don’t hear themselves echo when on calls unless you have volume turned up really high).

Provides sufficient (but not complete) noise cancelling – I think this is safer when out walking to still be able to hear outside noises. – Longer overall battery life, I can get multiple full day uses without charging which is awesome.

Cons: Automatically turns off when charging without saying anything (my older 3’s used to be able to listen & charge at the same time) Bluetooth connectivity to some devices is not as good & drops randomly (never was an issue with my 3s).

Still has the same cheap plastic, but has a 2 year warranty. The circle button at the top is for bluetooth pairing. This is annoying when trying to turn up on the headphones because it’s probably 1 of the least used buttons once you have it paired to your devices.

I always automatically go to the top button & then realize it’s actually the next button down.

I guess these are things that are very dependent on one’s preferences. I’ve been using mine for a month now. I personally have not owned over-the-ear wireless headphones prior to these ones, but I love them.

No regrets on the price either. I originally purchased these for the gym as my earbuds were too sensitive to movement and annoying during a sweaty workout. They also fell out quite a bunch. The spongy covers of these headphones can easily come off and be washed/sanitized, which is super important if you sweat like I do! They stay on no matter what I am working on, even with my hair in a bun or ponytail.

I’m not going to lie, these have came in clutch on days I wanted to do household chores/cook in peace when the family is being rowdy. Their noise cancelling feature can be turned off. Which I like. Sometimes it’s unnecessary and the blocking pressure annoys my ear drums.

The buttons are easily accessible. I like to wear mine on the right ear with them facing backwards. Just makes it easier for my thumb to toggle. The battery is *chefs kiss* immaculate! Even when I forget to charge them up for the week, just plug her in for ten minutes and she’s good to go! If only other gadgets worked as efficiently! Sound quality, for a non-connoisseur of sound, I think she is ideal.

From my metal and EDM to my slow jams, she is clear in delivery of lyric and tone!.

Purchased my JBL Tour One headphones from JB HiFi mainly for conference and phone calling at work, and occasionally listening to music or podcasts. With the latter they perform extremely well and I have really enjoyed the customisable Eq function on the easy to use iPhone App for both music and podcast.

Conference and phone calling has been slightly less impressive, though. Listening quality is terrific, but on the receiving end you can sound a bit tinny and like you’re calling from a room with fairly high sound reverberation when you’re not.

Perhaps there’s an adjustment somewhere for this, and I expect most Bluetooth headphones without a dedicated microphone wand would be similar. Noise cancelling is OK, and while their NC performance falls a bit shot of my old Bose QC-15s, they’re still acceptable, IMO.

The product design is excellent. For me they are nice thing to wear with ample adjustments and the controls are easy to use, although the tactile quality of the on/off button could be a little better.

They’re mostly made from a matt plastic and synthetic leather but they look and feel high class, and certainly a significant step up over most other JBL headphones. The packaging was excellent, too, and ditto for the carry case and accessories.

The weight is OK and I have found that my ears do warm up wearing them but I get that with any headphones I use – even the on-ear type. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend these to anyone looking for great looking headphones with great listening sound quality, which can be customised to suit personal preference, and adequate conference/phone call capability.

College student here! Keep in mind that this review is made relative to my roommate’s pair of Sony headphones—the “WH-1000XM3” model, I think—in my own opinion, I think that if I had spent the full $300 that these headphones cost (I bought them on sale for $150), I would have felt a lot more dissatisfied than I do now.

The primary reason I bought these headphones was because of the noise cancellation (I hate studying with a bunch of annoying background noise, sometimes coming from the voices of my roommates), but compared to the Sony headphones, the noise cancellation on these are not worth the $300 that the Sony headphones are worth (approximately).

For context, if you have music playing at constant full blast, the noise cancellation is obviously most effective (near 100% noise cancellation—not perfect cancellation, but I don’t know how healthy that would be for your ears), but without any music whatsoever, you can have a complete conversation with someone speaking at an indoor volume across from you.

In comparison, the Sony headphones provide a satisfying sort of deafness, so if that is what you are looking for (shoutout to all premeds with noisy roommates) then you ought to go with those—as long as you intend to spend $300.

I think that if it’s the $150 I bought them from Best Buy for, then these are good value. I would advise everyone to only buy these on sale, and to only go up to $300 for better headphones.

I really wanted to like these headphones. I own several products from Harman, speakers from Revel and JBL Synthesis, and headphones from AKG. I was looking for a pair of noise cancelling headphones for travelling and wanted to give these a try.

Out of the box the setup was easy, and they had good sound quality. However, after a few weeks of use they developed a “creaking” sound every time I moved my head. This seems to be a build quality issue.

It appears to be coming from where the hinge and ear cup attach. This is not a signal or sound quality issue and can be heard with the headphones off. I did a warranty exchange though JBL. The referb replacement set they sent had the same issue out of the box.

At this point I must believe this is an issue inherent in the design. Unfortunately, at this point I can not return to the retailer. I guess I will try exchanging them again? I would recommend looking at other options for noise cancelling headphones.

Im usually a true wireless earbuds person, but after some research I decided to try a pair of over ear noise cancelling headphones for watching tv. Best decision I could have made! The sound quality is crisp, clear, and the ANC is so amazing I forget I live with other noisy people.

Theyre so lightweight and comfortable the only time I realize I have them on is if I start to lay down in bed. Theyve replaced my earbuds for music as well when Im at home. The app has a pretty good equalizer (Im definitely not an expert in that area, but its versatile enough for the average listener), which is a plus because my only complaint is that theyre too bass heavy on the factory setting.

I love a good deep bass, but this one tends to muddy the sound at its level, so I definitely tweaked mine. The ability to connect to both my phone and FireTV without having to disconnect is extremely handy.

I can still hear my notifications while watching tv. The battery life is as good as it says it is as well. I havent timed it exactly, but I spent an entire day (almost 13 hours) wearing them while working and the battery meter was only about halfway down.

The case that comes with it is hard shell and sturdy, Im glad it wasnt a pouch like a lot of other lower range options. The padding on the earsand top of the band is squishy and silky smooth, its not a harder padding that causes discomfort after hours of use.

Fair warning, the band adjustment doesnt go very small, so if you have a smaller head they might not stay in place. I have a decently big head and a lot of hair, so I dont have that problem. The ear cups are also very roomy for people with bigger ears.

I was glad to put them on and not feel like my ears were being squished. They dont seem to interfere with the fit of glasses either, I havent had any issues with mine. Theyre definitely not top of the line headphones, but they exponentially exceeded my expectations for the price.

I do want an expansion in the color choices, a darker red would be AMAZING.

Lasted about 5 months with issues, but was phenomenal while it did!!! Amazing sound, very comfortable, got on sale for around $260 I believe, so watch for this because it happens from time to time. Now I used these from day one of the purchase till that 5 Month period, and it was daily, pretty much saying they were never shut off.

So it was a lot of use, maybe like 10-14 months to someone else since I slept in them too while they were noise cancelling. The Sound Quality was amazing at first, although I noticed that did drop off about 10-15% on Bass, and the volume seemed lessened but not by much – this was in the first month.

Although it still sounded great. They do tend to wear very warm and your ears sweat, and they smelled a bit stinky and required baby wipes to clean them often, just a forewarning. Things I didn’t care for – the Noise Cancelling only works on certain things.

I am a truck driver and sleep with the Noise Cancelling on, so I have a lot to say about this – it blocks out refers for the most part (keeps the lower noise, but the annoying higher pitched noise is gone).

Highway noise is removed. Makes it easier to sleep in by far. Before this I used low profile shooters muffs and ear buds. When the squeal of death came about, it started as just an oddity from pushing down into the pillow on my left side and it would squeal while air deflated out around the cushion, but became more sensitive, and then finally whenever my ear was pushed into the muff, and then anything in close proximity to the left ear muff – like my hand going in to cover it.

You have to have the Sony App installed on your device to turn off the noise cancelling, and then it works; but you have to do this every time you power cycle these things which gets highly annoying.

At this writing they are sitting in a cabinet waiting to get replace under the 1yr Sony warranty before I use my 2yr Best Buy Warranty. Outside of that they worked seamless and flawlessly. I used them on a Surface Laptop, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Tab S4.

The only attributable flaw I wish they could work on is wearing them around your neck and then popping them onto your head loosens the adjusters left and right, and you have to adjust them each time – it’s too loose I find, maybe a few more inch-lbs of tension in the mechanism would keep this at bay, but that was really it.

They last about 6-10 hours of playing (depending on volume and if I had the window partially down – which they don’t cancel out wind noise very well at all and it takes away from battery life), and I’ll be left at 10-20% by morning sleeping in them and using them for that 10 hrs I have off duty.

So the full day charge bit is pretty solid. And then I charge them in the morning, which takes like 1-3/4 hrs or so, which I found just about 2 wks before they went south that it fast charges in like a half an hour to a really good 80% or so, but I had enough time to check that more than twice.

The new Sony WH-1000XM4s may not look any different from the previous generation WH XM3s. But if you take a closer look, it’s the small details that Sony improved to make an already fantastic product even greater.

One of the features users of the previous generation, like myself, were wanting was the ability to connect your active noise-cancelling headphones to two devices at once. Sony answered and brought multi-point connection to the WH XM4s allowing you to connect to your phone and laptop at the same time wihout having to change bluetooth connection.

Then there’s the proximity sensor. Similar to its truly wireless earbuds counterpart, the WH XM4s now pause your audio whenever you take off your headphones and plays it back again after you’ve put the headphones back on.

To be honest, this small feature is convenient in so many ways, especially coming from the WH XM3s. Lastly, the pads on the earcups themselves are now softer and a little thicker so you can wear your headphones for even longer periods without having to worry about discomfort.

You will still feel some warming around your head, just like with any other over-ear headphones, but not to be really worried about unless you’re in 40C heat. If you’re looking to purchase your first active noise-cancelling over-hear headphones the Sony WH XM4 won’t disappoint and provide with the best-in-class ANC and sound quality for your money.

Even if you’re coming from the previous generation like myself, if you want those additional small features that improve your workflow, I highly recommend making the upgrade as well. Pros: – Multi-point connection – Proximity sensor (plays and pauses music when you take off headphones) – More cushion on earpads – Additional mics for improved ANC and call quality Cons: – A bit pricey – No water or dust raiting – No longer supports aptX or aptX HD bluetooth codecs.

After trying the Samsung buds pro, I was very surprised how uncomfortable they were, and how there was almost no noise cancelling. I also tried the Bose 700 and the Bose QuietComfort earbuds, I was dissatisfied with the design and noise canceling level.

Also their app was not working properly. After seeing that the Sony was on sale, and after reading great reviews, I bought them. I was instantly impressed. The app has many more features, and works perfectly.

The noise canceling is great. One of the greatest features, is that without even having my Bluetooth turned on on my phone, I can place the back of the left ear piece against the back of my Samsung Galaxy phone, and through NFC, without the app even running, and the headphones powered off, the headphones power on, and turn on Bluetooth on my phone and connect.

When you connect the included cable between the headphones and your device, for some reason the noise canceling is even better. I am going to check into this to see why this might be as it does not make sense.

The app allows you to adjust the ambient sound so that you can go from complete noise canceling all the way to being able to hear cars and noises around you. Most of the options for the headphones can also be controlled by buttons or swiping on the earpieces.

It’s been decades since I’ve owned a Sony product, and this reminds me of the quality that I remember seeing in Sony products. Since I don’t want to always have bluetooth on because I’m not sure of the health risks involved, my research showed that when you plug in the cable it turns off the Bluetooth in the headphones.

I tested this out by trying to reconnect via Bluetooth while the cable is plugged in. The phone was unable to find the headphones, which supports what I read, namely that Bluetooth is turned off in the headphones when you plug in the cable.

Luckily found these on sale and had rewards points making them a great deal with super quality. They are also comfortable, lightweight and seem to have great battery life and quick charging via USB C.

The only potential problem that I’ve discovered is that when wearing them outside in the wind, I do hear some of the wind. However these were not mainly purchased for outdoor use.

Purchased this set of headphones during the July 2022 Best Buy “Prime Days” and it has now replaced my Apple AirPods Max for juicy, thumpy and overall awesome set pair that I currently own. It’s much more compact to bring along in my backpack and unlike the AirPods Max’s pathetic sleeve this actually has a nice case included.

Sound Quality: This is always subjective but when I was younger, Sony made some Bass branded Walkmans (yep, I’m old) and those were amazing sounding when listening to cassettes. This brings me back to those days when I can tune out the world and just enjoy my music.

The songs I play range from old classic rock to drum and bass, metal, R&B, techno and current pop hits and they all sound much fuller than the AirPods Max since there is more low end power. Comfort: I can wear these all 7 hours max when I’m working at my cushy office job.

No issues with the band clamping my head like a vise and very comfy ear cups that fit my large dumbo ears. Noise Cancelling: Very good, not as isolating like a Bose QC, AirPods Max or even Sonys top end XM line but it does the job of drowning out my annoying co-workers that are 30-40 feet away that like speak to loudly for their own good.

Haven’t taken it on a plane trip but I’m sure it’ll hold its own. Battery Life: Exceptional!! Like I said above, I use this mainly for office work to listen to music and for about 5-6 hours Monday – Friday it’ll last me a week and half roughly.

BlueTooth Connection: Outstanding. Links up to my Windows PC laptop, Apple iMac desktop, my iPhone 11 Pro Max without any hiccups. Solid wireless connectivity. Misc: This is my first Sony NC headphones and I’ve always wanted their premium XM1000s but $350 was a bit too high and if you get these at Best Buy’s sale, they were too good to pass up.

I also like the way you can use your palm to cover up the right ear cup to use ambient mode and swiping your finger across to skip to the next track, just a couple nice features that Sony has implemented.

There’s also an app you can download to fine tune your sound preferences. Conclusion: Take a demo listen at the store and see how much you’ll enjoy these.

I purchased these Sony WH-XB910N Headphones with the expectation that they would also be a good solution as a headset for several hours during the work day for business calls and meetings, as well as for personal phone calls.

The Good: They did last a few days between charging. The are comfortable. The Not So Good: You can’t use these headphones while they are charging, they are disabled during the charging process. Additionally the Noise Cancelling feature is marginal at best, they still pick up a good amount of background noise which can be heard by others.

I ended up returning these a couple weeks after purchase and getting the Logitech Zone 900 Headset. The Zone 900’s can be used while charging, it’s not disabled while charging like these Sony headphones.

The Zone 900’s also came with a much longer charging cord which facilitated use during the charging process. Additionally the Zone 900’s have much better noise cancellation than the WH-XB910N’s. I know that typically people who purchase these WH-XB910N’s are primarily looking for good listening quality with their music, but having reliable headphones/headset for phone calls and meetings is just as important if not more important to me.

As much as I wanted to keep these Sony headphones because they sounded incredible when listening to music, the Logitech Zone 900’s were a much better solution for my needs. Please note that I rated these Sony WH-XB910N 5 stars when it comes to Sound quality when listening to music, they are wonderful.

If there was an additional star-category for Noise Canceling, I’d give these Sony’s 2-3 stars at the most.

It would not be fair to claim one is outright better than the other – the better question is what do you prefer? It is too difficult to recommend either the QC45 or the Sony XM4s over the other. Since I am fortunate to own both – here are notes/thoughts from my own experience – Sound Quality: Sony have an impressive soundstage especially with bass-heavy music.

Sonys seem to have a greater volume output and maintain a well rounded/uniform sound from low to maximum volume ranges. Sonys are well suited for all music and especially impressive with bass-heavy music.

They have a warm sound and one can enjoy listening to music at volume for a longer period of time compared to the Bose. If I want to listen/feel like Im hearing something at a club, Ill go for the Sony.

If I want to appreciate vocals or instruments in a song, Ill prefer the Bose. Bose have an impressive soundstage with music that emphasize vocals or live instruments – in my experience you can hear more detail and pick instruments apart from one another with the Bose.

The potential downside with such clarity and emphasis on the highs may be that you experience fatigue as volume is increased towards the max with I can best describe in my non-audiophile lingo as sharp treble.

Build Quality/Comfort: Materials are comparable. Bose and Sony use a combo of faux leather and plastic. Sonys have bulkier earcups but the exterior of their headphones feature more premium feeling matte textured plastic.

Bose have a slimline feel/look by comparison but have a more simplistic plastic feel to the exterior of their cans. My nod on build quality go to Bose though; the Sonys have already started to creak a bit when I wear them with slight movements of the head.

This slight creaky noise originate where the band connects to each earcup. While Sony might exhibit slightly more premium materials, the build construction and lack of any creaks/rattles or looseness of the Bose and the slinky feel of the latter (along with the faux leather/more compact protective case) make the QC45s the winner here.

Both are equally comfortable – draw on comfort. Noise Cancellation Both are impressive. Imo, I prefer the ANC of the Sony in cases where consistent low frequency noise is apparent. In cases such as flying, the Sony drown out the lower freqs and almost cloak it with a somewhat perceptible yet satisfying hiss/white noise.

Bose do a godd job too with the lower frequencies but their slight edge might be in fighting against higher freq noise such as in a coffee shop. Other Notes: Sony capacitive touch controls can be both convenient and fun but at times just as frustrating.

I enjoy swiping forward and backward for songs in a playlist (Bose can only skip forward) but changing volume or pausing music is more clunky. I only want to skip one or two tracks at a time so a swipe is convenient, but changing the volume is easier with a several quick clicks instead of several swipes.

The quicker the swipe can be hard for the capacitive controls. When I take the headphones off though, its nice that the Sony tech knows (80% of the time) to pause the music. EQ Control/App: Sony has a better EQ App offering more adjustability that suits your preferences.

Bose have a preferable phone-call experience and ambient mode gives me greater awareness of how loud I am talking out loud when on a call. TLDR: If you have a QC35 or XM3, this is a worthy upgrade. Owners of previous Sony XM ANC headsets may notice a slight degarde in material quality but the upgrade in tech everywhere else is a fair trade.

XM4s are as good as the newer QC45s and trade the uber-detailed and crisp sound sound with an impressive bass positive soundstage and warm, full and balanced sound profile. Sony wins with its warm sound, immersive soundstage and ANC.

Consumers who value the foremost vocal and instrument detail at the expense of bass will want to check out the QC45 instead.

I purchased these about a month ago. This is my first foray into wireless noise canceling headphones in about five years, I am impressed with the improvements. The sound quality is simply terrific, approximately as good as a set of wired headphones of similar cost.

The wireless link is reliable, no interference or dropouts noted though in fairness I usually use these with my phone which is never more than a few feet away. I purchased these in part to replace a set of headphones that I use when I cut my grass.

That is a very challenging environment for noise reduction as it contains wide band noise from very low frequencies up to almost the limit of human hearing. The noise is also at a fairly high decibel decibel level, something like 90+dba at 1 m.

The headphones knocks the mower noise down to a really surprising level, and even with the noise reduction working that hard the audio still sounds great. I also very much appreciate the touch features of these headphones.

My experience with non-phone/computer gesture sensing has not been good. However these sense tap and swipe gestures very reliably. The headphones come in a small zippered case and include accessories such as an airplane adapter and hardwired cable.

They charge in three hours or less, usually much less, from USB-C. Sony also has an app available for iOS and android that provides various settings for noise reduction, equalizer, and setting the function of a dedicated button on the headphones.

I can’t speak to the iOS version but the android version works well, I’ve had absolutely no issues with it. Overall I think these are a great choice, and well worth the price.

The case is good and sturdy, the headphones fit well, with room for a charge cable, (I replaced the cable supplied, it was too short) and a 3. 5mm cable, and on the outside there’s netting, and it is big enough to hold a 3 meter 3.

5mm extension. The phones themselves are light, very comfy, not too sweaty and don’t squeeze your ears too tight. They work right out of the box, charged, pair simply with Bluetooth, recharge fast, and have a massive 30 hour rundown.

The app is very useful, so many settings that actually make huge differences in sound. speaking of the sound, volume is good, deep non distorted bass, uncomplicated clear mid ranges, and excellent highs.

If you wish to try it, there’s settings to use Sony 360, which means using the app to photo your ears, and use a quality streaming service with 360 music, and there was a voucher code in my product that gave me 3 months deezer premium.

Now, all high fidelity tracks sound great, and I also tried the deezer 360 tunes too, and although they really do sound good, there’s simply not enough of them to choose from yet, so I’m staying with normal deezer premium.

I’ve put the app on a mobile phone, 2 tablets, and a chromebook, and pairing the headphones to each is simple. My Sony bravia TV doesn’t have Bluetooth, it’s got a Sony soundbar connected via optical cable, but using a roku streaming device, I can pair the headphones to that using a virtual roku remote on my mobile.

I love these phones, without doubt the best in their class, and even beat several costing twice as much. Highly recommended.

Had the headphones for a week now and they’ve had 40 hours of use. I got them because my 15 year old Bose set are getting a little frayed at the edges. I was looking for wireless, comfort, noise cancellation and sound quality but could only justify buying a new pair (my old ones still work and are good quality) when the price was drastically reduced.

The heavy usage is due to the current pandemic and my medical status. I am retired on medical grounds so I’m not getting out much, my wife is working from home and has set up office on our dining table.

To prevent me disturbing her and to cut out the noise of her constant zoom meetings I have the headphone on nearly all day. They get a variety of uses (TV, film, radio and music) from a variety of sources.

The sound quality is excellent, from the high pitched shriek of Jesus and Mary Chain distortion to the rumbling bass of Jah Wobble, it’s as good as I’ve ever had it. The noise cancellation is superior to my old Bose, much better than I was expecting which has caused me to miss a delivery as I couldn’t hear the knocking.

They are very comfortable initially but after prolonged use they can cause sweating mild discomfort which is resolved by a short break. I have had some issues with Bluetooth pairing, some devices work better than others the less than optimal units causing breaks in sound reception.

If it’s a big issue it can be resolved by a wired connection but that’s not alway possible. Over all I am very pleased with them and at less than £200 they are a relative bargain.

This is my first pair of Sony headphones and first pair from the XM series. Having upgraded from AKG Y50BT headphones, the quality difference is impossible to describe. The XM3s have a punchy but not overbearing bass, the mids are clear and the highs are crisp.

These are closer to neutral sound so if you are into ear-piercing bass, this is not for you though you can fine tune it using EQ. The overall balance is just where i would like it to be and if i want to tune anything, there is the Android app.

Noise cancellation is excellent though i find it does a much better job neutralising lower frequencies. Think of an engine of a passing bus, or a construction site, doors being open and shut. However, it is less good with voices.

It does drown them out but i can still hear what is being said, just about. Still, overall, it does good enough job that you don’t notice them after a while. Now for my ‘nice to have’. These headphones cannot be fully driven on passive power.

Yes, you can use the included cable to connect the headphones to, say you PC, but the sound quality is worse, the sound somewhat muffled and the overall enjoyment lower. Now, keep them connected and turn them ON, oh and you are up for a treat.

I use them when using my PC and just keep them on and connect to Bluetooth as i leave. I use them EVERYWHERE! The battery seems to last longer when using with my PC even when on because I think part of the power is delivered via the cable.

Still, it is a small price to pay for what you are getting. Where i think they do need more work are the hinges. Mine were creaking a fair amount on the right said when i just got them. Walking down the street, inevitably you will put your foot down.

That is how walking works. That slight movement by the headphones as you walk caused the hinges to creak. Same with chewing or anything that would put some pressure on the hinges. The headphones seem to have worn in now so that is something to be happy about.

Still, do not be surprised if you face this in the first days of wearing them, though it should subside and eventually go away.

They charge up impressively fast. The Monitor Setting is goofy. If I turn it on, I have to turn up the volume from a tiny, low whisper, then turn the volume back down when I turn off the Monitor setting.

Instead, I use the volume or pause and slide the headphones off one ear to half listen. Eh. Ironically, the cushy ear covers don’t keep this pair from becoming uncomfortable on the curved bone behind the ear on my SKULL.

I am being honest in my review as a long time Skullcandy fan—so keep an open mind to my close mindedness: Why does the digital voice have a tony British accent from the west end of London? It would be cool if we had a choice for the software we get.

Maybe I want someone who sounds like Morgan Freeman, Cillian Murphy, or America Ferrera. Basically, it grates on me that I have to hear the ultimate Colonial accent when I am enjoying music or podcasts.

First off, they are very comfortable and lightweight. The build quality however, could be better. They are very creaky and made almost entirely out of plastic. The plastic is solid and durable though.

The sound quality is pretty good. The earcups are made out of leather, but they don’t make you sweat like some others. Now the real downside of these headphones, which is the microphone. It has worked fine for calls, but if you try and use it on your computer, for me at least, it cuts out all audio output coming through the headphones and only allows me to hear myself, so I would not recommend these for gaming or anything like that.

Overall pretty good, but I think you can find better for the price.

From sound to design, these headphones are brilliantly engineered and it’s a pleasure to use them daily. Comfort is one of the most important factors to consider for myself when buying headphones, I’m pleased to confirm that these are very comfortable on the ears.

Even during long sessions of wearing them while working, I haven’t felt any discomfort or heat build up inside. Battery life is simply great, I can spend the entire day with ANC on and still have battery left over for next day.

The 50mm high definition drivers produce exceptional sound. It produces rich and powerful sound which makes the listening experience absolutely amazing. The build quality is great, there are no flimsy parts.

You can see the attention to detail in design. As with all Marley products, the reason I love their products is due to their stance on recycling. Sustainable materials are used where possible without sacrificing quality and there is no sight of plastic materials where it’s unnessesary.

So , I am really impressed with this headphones. They come with couple of nice braided cables ( one is usb to usb-c for charging and one with 3. 5mm connector at the end) and a really cool storage bag , so you can easily carry them around.

And ofcourse the headphones. They actually look absolutely amazing , love the design , one of the best part – they are active noise cancelling, they got nice padded headband , so its very comfortable to wear them a bit longer.

The ear cups do fold flats , so you can easily put them on the desk or table, and also they are super soft and comfortable on ears. I can say that the battery life is really good , its up to 28- 30 hours when you are using the active noise cancelling , and up to 80 hours of use when the noise cancelling is not in use.

So really impressive isnt it. I love the nice sound, good bass quality and with the active noise cancelling switching on its amazing. So I can only say – well done , brilliant work.

Going for each category: Durability 4/5 Metal hinges, overall nice and durable plastic. It also seems never gets dirty, and survived a few stumbles and trips to the floor without scratches. After a year, while going to a walk, and using it on my office, the cushions started to worn off.

You’re supposed to swap them after some time, it’s expected after one year of constant use. It’s not a workout headphone, but it endured some sweat on hot days, and a few hours of skateboarding. As long as you don’t work out with it constantly, it will be OK.

If the cushions were either: a bit more resistent and the same price, or replacements were cheaper, it’d be a perfect 5/5 Sound quality 3/5 The sound is nice and thight when needed, but it’s NOT a neutral headphone.

It DO has quite some bass. I like a lot of bassy music so it’s nice for me, but the bass hides a little of the higher pitch sounds (example: a rock/metal song, with the drums and guitars over the symbals.

you can hear it, bit it’s a bit, muffled). It’s a everyday day-to-day headphones, so it’s nice for movies, series, etc. NOT an audiophile headphones. Sound is not neutral (which for most people is a good thing), and it has no sound stage, but it’s expected due to it being close back and has noise cancelling.

Tech and gimmics 3/5 It’s ok and usefull You can use it on cable, which is REALLY usefull and spares battery, reduces time response and overall quality, but you can’t use bluetooth and charge it at the same time.

the moment it charges, it gets turned off, and using it with the cable while charging sometimes has static sounds. it’s not optimzed for charging and using at the same time. it also has a REALLY ANNOYING PROBLEM: whenever I plug the headphone jack in, it fits in ok, but when going back to bluetooth, it makes sounds from only ONE of the speakers, either left or right.

you can fix it by pluging the headphone jack back in and turning the bluetooth on, THEN pulling it off after turning it on (I know you’re thingking something dirty. get your mind off the guter). It’s really annoying, and happens ALL THE TIME.

Voice assisstents work fine, but it’s kind of annoying to use. Sometimes you just want to fix the position on your head, and suddenly alexa or google turns on, and stops your music due to it being touch sensitive.

The bluetooth microfone is not that good (which is expected from a wireless headphone), but the cable that comes with has an ok microfone Noice cancelling is nice, and makes you feel like in a acoustic room, but it’s not the best on windy places.

it’s not a workout headphone, so you’re not supposed to use it on windy places, but it’s noticable while going for a walk. it’s a common issue on most active noise cancelling headphones. you’re not supposed to hit the gym with these, but it’s still noticable.

Price 4/5 It’s nice for it’s price. nice quality and nice sound with some quality of life features. if it wasn’t for the problems mentioned it’d be a 5/5. The few hardware issues it has make it a bit annoying, but it’s so durable and nicely built, it’s worth it Confort 5/5 I never sleep with headphones on, but this one is so comfy, it makes me sleepy sometimes.

it’s not very breatable, and it gets hot quickly, but the fabric is so soft, you keep them on your head just for how they feel. the most confortable headphone i’ve ever had. even after one year of constant everyday use, it’s super confortabe.

There are several things to love about these headphones, but there is some room for improvement. They have a ton of features that make your listening experience more convenient like pausing what your listening to automatically when you remove them, settings for noise cancellation and ambient listening so you can hear your surroundings.

Both of these modes work very well. I recommend downloading the app for a visual reference of the setting that are selected. Once you learn the noise cues for these settings, you won’t need the app anymore.

Of course loud, sudden noises won’t be cancelled, but because they are also very comfortable, I am able to wear them while I sleep while others are watching TV. They also have a very long battery life and are fast-charging.

They are able to connect to multiple devices simultaneously, but I’ve noticed that this will cause the audio to occasionally cut out which is a bit annoying. The built-in voice assistant (I use Alexa) can also be finicky.

There could be a learning curve that I’m still getting over, but my commands don’t always seem to register when using the Alexa. The sound quality is good but not incredible. If you’re main focus is sound quality, you won’t want Bluetooth headphones anyway.

I hate giving anything, but 5 star reviews, but I feel it’s necessary. There were two things that made me instantly regret buying these earphones, but I’ve kind of just put up with it because it does get the job done (listening to music/youtube) 1) I feel it squeezes my head and kind of gives me headaches.

The more I’ve used it, the less extreme it’s been, but it did happen the other day at the gym for the first time in a while. As soon as I take the headphones off, it’s like instant relief, but the headache still lingers slightly.

(I rarely get headaches) 2) Within a couple uses, the ear part and top part were so so dirty. I ended up spending like 15 min cleaning it, and just to experiment, I took a full blown shower and put on my earphones.

Walked 20 minutes to work with them on (granted I do live in a hot place). And the earphones were back to being embarrassingly dirty. Like it grosses me out even, let alone people seeing it lol. I don’t know anyone who wants to spend 5-10 minutes after every use cleaning earphones.

Not sure anyone has time for that. (I read a public review saying that these headphones don’t get dirty, just clean after every use. I’m like WHAT? Does anyone actually want to have to do that? Like if I wore it once a week OKAY, but most people I know where headphones multiple times every day).

The E55bt are not APTx or LDAC capable wireless headphones, so keep that in mind. BT codecs greatly affect the maximum sound quality that can be achieved when music is transmitted, and the SBC supported by the E55bt is FM quality (whereas LDAC is CD quality).

When connected by BT, you’ll notice the highs are rolled off, the sound stage isn’t as vibrant or clear. Not bad, and it is quite acceptable for outdoor use where the ambient outdoor noise will erase any advantage of even better codecs.

These headphones do seal out some of the ambient noise passively, but are not active noise cancelling headphones unlike higher priced models. That said, I use the E55bt WIRED! It comes with a detachable 3.

5mm cable, and when you do plug it in into a player that can drive them well, like my LG G7, which has a quad-dac audio output, OMG! Then these headphones really come Alive with solid, active bass, clear vocals, a clear soundstage and highs!! That’s when everything from La La Land’s soundtrack to Puth’s Furious 7 end song play like they’re meant to play, motivating your feet to tap to the beats and a smile to come to your face.

Seriously good for the price range! They are not neutral like some competitors – these are designed to make music even more lively and fun than they ought to be, but without any artificialness. Music simply sounds better and your ears perk up and notice right away! Comfortable ear padding, easy to adjust controls, no issues turning it on bt, adjusting volume, adjusting the fit, etc.

Ear cups turn 90 degrees to lay flat, so they don’t take that much space in a bag. Padded cloth headband is nice, comfortable on the head. These are closed headphones, so you won’t hear much of the world.

You’ll need to pull one cup off your ear to hear someone talk. Also, because of the weight and design, these are good for walking, office, gaming, etc, but they are not for running or sports. The E55bt are the sort of headphones that you put on, start playing a range of music from jazz to rock, and you can relax in a wonderful world of music while you read or do other activities.

As someone who has been reading BT headset reviews for a few years now, there is something everyone should understand by now. There are no headphones designed to last more than a few years (short of studio headphones that do not travel, and cost an arm + leg + and your first born).

Every single type of headphone has reviews stating they break easily, don’t last, fall apart, etc. You cannot avoid this, and as such, I have been on the outside of the headphone craze, unwilling to replace my decent earbuds with something that cost ten times the dollar amount, and might give me a year or two of listening.

With that said, I found these JBL’s in a clearance section at TJ Maxx, and after refreshing my memory with the reviews, decided to take the plunge. It has only been three months since my faithful leap, so I cannot comment on durability, but I must say, that even if I had paid full price, these would be worth it.

While a first time owner, I have listened to countless headsets in stores, and from friends over the years, and could not be happier with these JBL’s. At the time of writing, they were selling for one hundred and forty dollars on the JBL website, and while I only paid eighty dollars, the one forty is still a good value.

I make sure to be careful with them, and really like how the ear cups lay flat so when I wear them around my neck, they are not in cumbersome. Sound quality is at or above all other headphones priced under $250, and are more comfortable, esspecially Beats, which I have no idea why people love.

Battery life is quite good, and with an app, you can monitor the level, and adjust the equalizer to your taste, so please people, stop talking about the bass levels! They are quality over the ear BT headphones, and they work well, last, and sound great.

One more PSA: Stop writing reviews before you READ THE OWNERS MANUAL! You can skip songs! The buttons do make sense! They do work well with phone calls!.

After dealing with Harman messing up the shipping option and charging me even more money, these cans arrived with a defective right driver which is OBVIOUSLY quieter than the left one. This creates a stereo imbalance that all but ruins the listeniung experience.

The plastic is also quite cheap – the plastic creaks as the ear cups move, as mentioned by other customers. And it totally looks blue, not grey. I spent $50 on these and they hardly feel worth $30 let alone the original askin price of $150.

After the shenanigans they pulled suring initial order I’m not excited to deal witrh thier returns. Wish me luck, and do yourself a favor and buy a a different set of phones from a different seller.

Sonically, these are truly excellent closed-back headphones. For reference, I own and use Hifiman Sundara, Beyerdynamic DT-880, AKG K240S, AKG K361, Etymotic ER4S, and others. I absolutely love the K371.

I also own the K361 and I love those too. But the K371 are the “audiophile” choice for sure. The K361 have the same balanced and beautiful midrange, but lack sub bass presence and some top end sparkle.

They are very flat (good for mixing) and may need some EQ to sound their best. The K371 improve on the already fantastic K361s and bring incredibly impactful and musical sub-bass (<60Hz) without muddying or obscuring the mid-bass at all.

The mids on the K371 are clear, defined and balanced. Nothing sticks too far forward or is too recessed. The presentation of the sound is very musical and “meaty. ” You just want to listen to all of your favorite tracks through them again and again.

The top end of the K371 are slightly more present and defined than the K361. I would say the 371’s are a bit more resolving and upper-mid forward. Soundstaging is pretty good, but the pads are very squishy so they compress onto your ears and collapse the soundstage a bit.

I wish AKG would fit these with slightly deeper and firmer pads, maybe with velour cups. The build quality is good so far, but they do use plastic and a sort-of flimsy feeling cable that is very microphonic.

If AKG build a “K381” series with solid metal construction, higher-quality ear pads, better quality cable, slightly wider soundstaging and better isolation, while using the exact same drivers it would be a total slam dunk.

Regardless, these are fantastic, I can’t recommend them enough. They are also super easy to drive, given their high sensitivity. They have low impedance so make sure your headphone amplifier has a low output impedance.

The headband had broken after a month of delicate use. For most of us, the buy K371BT decision is based not on design but sound taking BT + closed-back. Therefore, I’d advise AKG to just copy a headband design of any 20 USD headphones that don’t break.

Also, for those who already own K371(BT), it would be great to have a kind-of add-on reinforcement that can be snapped on two weak points of the headband. Many would be glad to pay for this as the sound is terrific compared to other BT closed backs.

Also, a simple test of keeping the headphones on the head for 2 weeks and then putting headphones on/off the head (or simply expanding the distance between caps back and forth) just 500 times would easily reveal the problem before mass production cause I bet at least 20% of tested items won’t last.

The test can be run on the headband prototype even before drivers or caps are integrated. This would make the product a little more expensive. (or may be not if warranty expenses are taken into account) Anyway it is a lot less expensive to buy 200 usd headphones every 5 years instead of 150 usd every month.

These headphones are phenomenal. If you want accuracy and detail, this is what you want. This is a big step up from the competition like HD 280, DT770, and M50x. The dt770 and m50x are always recommended as the best closed back for under 200, but they are nowhere near being flat and accurate.

This might make them more “fun” to listen to, but when accuracy matters, trust me, the k371 dominates the competition. The m50x is such a scooped, v-shaped tuning, same with the 770. These are full, rich, warm, accurate, but still have enough detail and bass response for any kind of music.

I use these exclusively when I need a closed-back listening and mixing solution. The sound stage is pretty impressive for a closed-back as well. The Sennheiser hd600 and hd660s are superior for mixing and imaging/resolution, but sometimes open-back cans just aren’t an option.

At 155 bucks, you won’t get a better pair of closed-back cans until you reach about 500, almost triple the price of this one.

You can spend a lot more money and still not get better headphones for TV watching. The sound is bright and crisp, not boxy and bass heavy like so many headphones geared for pop music. These are excellent for understanding dialogue and produce pure top notes when listening to piano or Classical music.

They are wired with a long 11′ cord, but there is no lag like you have with some bluetooths.

Excellent headphones with good, uncolored tonal balance from high to low frequencies. Good base extension without exaggeration. Clear, balanced mid range. Fairly wide sound stage for closed cup cans.

Large, but light weight – remaining cool and comfortable over long sessions. While most all sealed, around-the-ear closed cup headphones get warm under the seals during long listening sessions, these remain cooler than most, perhaps because they are so large.

Easily worth twice the price. I modified my set with a headset boom microphone for use with my amateur radio transceiver – super good. I have owned these headphones for several years and I would purchase another set if they ever break down.

(Other headphones in my collection include Audio Technica ATH-M50x, ATH-M40, BPHS-1, ATH-AD700, Superlux HD-681, AKG K240, Sennheiser wireless, SONY wireless, and others by Philips and Foxtex. ) Just MY take.

They are comfortable for a little while but if time is extended, as for watching a ~ two hour video, I feel that they get heavy and hot. Not heavy like Koss Pro-4AA, in the old days, but heavier than I want.

These are ‘sit-up’ ‘phones and not for laying in bed unless of course one is sitting up. The good news there is that falling asleep while wearing them is unlikely. There is no Noise-Canceling feature as some have claimed(not B&H however).

There is noise muffling but I can hear outside noises just fine. If anyone says there is a Noise-Canceling feature they are lying. Sound is OK. Not stellar but did not really expect that at this price.

Plenty good enough for watching movies! If they had a mic with them they would be great for VOIP. but they don’t. I’ve had mine for two(2) years and they still work. No part of them is worn out due to usage, but, OTOH, they are not used much because they become uncomfortable to me after wearing for an hour or so.

I really liked that a 6. 3mm plug adapter was included. Smart and very nice touch by JVC. I would not buy again. However, that will not keep me from buying at B&H or considering more JVC products. I’m a big guy(6′, 252.

) and think these would be better for someone with smaller features(ears).

There are a few major flaws with these headphones that are really disappointing for the price point. I wish I had tried them out in person before buying. The touch controls are too easy to trigger accidentally.

They fire almost every time I adjust the headphones on my head, or take them on or off, which is maddening. I wish I could disable them, but that seems to be impossible. The lack of physical volume buttons is disappointing, given the overly-sensitive touch controls.

The built-in play/pause control is buggy and causes weird audio or video artifacts on some streaming services. For example, hitting “play” on the headphones puts Netflix into a weird state where the video plays but Netflix still thinks it’s paused and keeps showing the pause overlay.

Switching between devices is overly difficult — if the headphones are connected to one device, you need to fully disable Bluetooth on that device before connecting to another. Despite all of the above complaints, the headphones are very comfortable, and the sound quality is great.

But the issues are annoying enough that I don’t enjoy using them. I would return them if I could, but I unfortunately missed the return window. If you’re considering buying these headphones, I highly recommend going to a store and trying them out in person first.

Make sure you test out the touch controls to see whether they work for you. Pay attention to whether the touch controls activate when taking the headphones on and off.

This headphone is one of the best one I have ever used! The sound quality definitely does feel premium, and that the crisp of the treble is evident. Indeed the bass is phenomenal for the pricing. Some of the music that I have been listening to for a long time sounds superb with the bass and sub bass the headphone delivers! The fact that Sony allows the customer to utilize their companion app for an equalizer setting and a Virtual Phone Technology setting, is outstanding! If one is not pleased with enough bass, then one can simply try using bass boost mode with the help of the equalizer.

If the bass is still not enough, then one should use the custom option for maximum bass boost. If the bass is still not enough, one should use the club mode with the help of Sony’s surround feature (VPT) for extreme bass! Know that most people can not handle the bass the Sony WH-XB900N has to offer! The comfort is perfect without a doubt.

The battery life is excellent. This headphone is certainly designed who crave for bass bass bass!.

Been using for a few weeks now, very happy so far. Love the way the audio can be fine tuned via the app (bass, treble etc) first time I’ve had to take a photo of my ear to tailor the sound from headphones! Bass response is excellent and can be adjusted to your own needs.

Comfort is good, lots of padding on the headband. The touch features are both excellent however sometimes I’ve skipped/paused by accident when adjusting the headphones on my head. The noise cancellation options are good, perhaps doesn’t cancel as much as I was expecting but still do a great job.

I love the one handed touch feature that enables all ambient sound to be heard (whilst lowering the music volume) great for when someone speaks to you and saves you taking the headphones off. Battery life has been great, somewhere in the region of 25-30 hours on a single charge, more than enough to last 3-4 days or a long train/plane journey.

Price was decent enough for the product, sure you can go lower or higher but I think it’s been fairly well matched for features. Would recommend.
