20 Best Headphone Microphone For Zoom (2023 Updated)

I am returning this. Walmart may need to do a couple things with this review. First, this review is not just on the product but also the seller. Maybe there’s someway to rate the seller separately but I haven’t discovered it.

Either way, the 3 star rating would be the same. The headset came without any packaging. It came in a Ziploc bag, which made me think it was a refurbished headset. It may be new, but without the manufacturer’s packaging, it’s difficult to discern.

So that’s the seller review. I have owned a few Logitech headsets but this one didn’t work. My computer did its troubleshooting and every time, it didn’t work. I’m uncertain if the issue is the computer or the headset.

Either way I’m returning it. As a whole, I have always enjoyed my Logitech headsets but they have seemed to have deteriorated with every subsequent generation. I like Logitech enough to try again, but not with this seller.

Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. I work at home for a government 800# call center. The brand, price, and immediate availability of this headset were right. These are advantages my neighborhood Best Buy is going to have for a very long time.

To get something for less on an internet or auction site required that I buy an unrecognizable brand and that I wait for shipping. The volume on these headphones is much better than on the single-ear Plantronics S8240 that my agency in its infinite wisdom forced me to immediately switch to.

These headphones I bought let me use both ears, which was a big help in and of itself. The Plantronics might be ok if I used the alternative earbud instead of the headphone but I refuse to do so because I need to maintain air access to my ears else I am prone to ear infections.

I do have a couple of nitpicks though. The default Windows driver, which is all I am allowed to use on my government computer, has no provision for frequency equalization. Unfortunately, these headphones emphasize the low frequencies a bit too much and voices sometimes sound like they are coming through a hollow tube.

To hear the consonants and vowels in my callers’ speech, I sometimes am forced to turn up the volume more than I might otherwise choose to. Another nitpick is that the line cord volume control and mute button are a bit too easy to accidentally “adjust” by bumping them.

I found the Logitech H390 USB headset after checking the reviews online. Those were done by experts in different fields, but they focused on pricey and trendy products, meaning they did not include headsets for my needs.

I went to BestBuy and quickly identified the Logitech that fitted my needs and price point. It included the noise canceling microphone that I wanted for online courses and Zoom meeting. So far I have not gotten any feedback on how I sound on the other side, so I hope to get that done soon to find out if the sound-check is clear.

From there I can figure out adjusting the microphone position. I do know that the audio is clear and crisp on both sides, especially comparing with other participants without any headphones, or those who need to regularly re-position their earbuds.

My previous headset was about 12-year-old, double-wirer for audio and microphone (now so outdated!), with increased scratching interference. Installation was simple and easy. For me, the Logitech is a great choice at a fair price.

Luck has it that there is a Best Buy a few miles from home, so the pick-up in store involves dealing with super helpful customer service people.

The Corsair HS80 Headset has some quality features but it’s companied by a faulty app. The build quality on the headset definitely looks and feels premium. The hinges on the earpieces are made up of metal, so you won’t have to worry about them breaking off.

The mic is built into the left earpiece and does not detach. Although, you can move it all the way up, this also auto mutes the mic when in the up position. The mic is a long piece of flexible rubber that’s not very stiff at all, it doesn’t do a good job at holding an exact position.

The earcups are made of a sued-like material, that does a good job at both providing comfort and blocking out external noise. There is a manual volume nob on the left ear, as well as a mute mic button…I have no idea why they decided to add a mute mic button, when all you have to do is raise the microphone, which acts as its own mute button… The headset connects to your PC via USB type B cable and the cable is built into the left earpiece, so it can’t be removed.

I would have liked for Corsair to have made a detachable cable, this would have been nice in case I run out of USB B ports, and I need to attach it io a USB-C port. Not to mention, many new computers only have USB-C ports, so it makes them have to buy an extra adapter in order to use it.

The sound quality on the HS80 is good. There is plenty of bass and there is a good distinguish between highs and lows. The sound is easy to hear and very smooth, not ear piercing like many headphones I’ve tried in the past.

The bass in the headphone is incredible, its so effected that it almost tricks your brain into thinking your whole body is rumbling. The headset is Dolby 7. 1 surround compatible, but only with the Corsair app installed, otherwise you can use Windows Sonic for headphones.

With the Corsair app you can adjust the EQ of the headset, you can choose from an assorted number of presets, or you can create your own custom settings. There is also a toggle that lets you choose between stereo of Dolby Surround.

As for the mic in the headset, the people on the other end didn’t seem to have any problems hearing me at all, so from what I can tell it sounds good. The Corsair App could really use an update. This is the app you use need to use if you want to change your lighting, custom controls, volume settings etc.

Not just for headsets, but for all types of Corsair devices including mice, keyboards, lighting towers etc. In my experience the app hasn’t worked very well, it would constantly freeze, not apply the correct lighting effects, of just randomly stop working all together.

Overall, the HS80 is a solid gaming headset. The level of comfort is great, I was able to use it for long gaming sessions without any pain or irritations. The build quality is top notch, and the sound is good.

The downside to the headset is the cable isn’t detachable, so it forces you to use a USB B. Having to use the buggy Corsair app to enable Dolby surround is another downside, it makes me think this is just a software feature and not actually a headphone feature…Otherwise, this is a stellar gaming headset and I would recommend it to gamers.

Overall, I really enjoyed gaming on this headset due to the comfort, clarity in the sound, and seamless connection to my PC and PS5. I’ll list a few of the reason I gave a 5 star rating down below. Comfort: As soon as I put the headset on I knew I was going to be comfortable gaming with them for hours.

They do have a bit of weight to them but the retractable band not only helps disperse some of that weight, but it also helps with providing a more secure fit regardless of the size of your head or the hair style you may have.

The ear cushions are memory foam and feel secure enough that it passively keeps outside noise from interfering with gameplay. Sound Performance: In the default settings out of the box, the headset provides excellent immersion in the gameplay.

I was able to hear the loud boom of explosions, clear cut conversations through chat, the rumble of car engines, very noticeable footsteps, and impressive directional awareness. Although impressive out of the box, I connected my headset to my PC which downloads the iCue software where I was able to customize audio eq settings.

This allowed me to quickly switch between wanting to be able to understand speech clearer or be able to distinguish enemy footsteps from my own. This headset also has the capability of using Dolby Atmos 3D audio which I have tried before and it is always a fantastic feature to have at your disposal.

As soon as I was connected, I was nearly fully immersed in the game. I will also point out that having a wired connection to the PC improves audio quality in a noticeable way and I would recommend it fully.

Quality: I haven’t dropped the headset or accidentally sat on them but the headset definitely has a premium feel despite the fact that the majority of the material is plastic. The buttons, volume wheel, and mic all feel solid.

I think I’ll be able to get a lot of use out of this headset but only time will tell. I really like the volume wheel because of how clicky it is. Every scroll has a distinct click as if I was scrolling on a mouse.

Mic Performance: I never had any issues with communicating online with this mic. In fact, I was asked multiple times if I had gotten a new mic because I didn’t sound tinny anymore. It does a great job at focusing on my voice and not the noise around me.

Some sound will leak through such as loud dog barks but for the most part it picks up my voice clearly. Wireless Connection: It is always a bonus to game wirelessly. The wireless connection is without a doubt seamless.

I never noticed any lag even when I was in different room! I believe it is rated for 60ft without any obstructions and although I didn’t test the length, I was able to get up and grab a snack from the Kitchen without losing connection to my game.

I was still able to communicate clearly with my friends over chat. Corsair also advertises SlipStream which allows you to connect to one single receiver with other Corsair products with this feature which is a huge bonus if you plan on getting multiple wireless corsair devices like a mouse and keyboard.

I cannot say enough positive things about this headset. I really enjoy gaming on them and I really hope they last me a long time.

My IT group at work provides this headset to employees, so I’m used to it, and when my old Plantronics at home started acting up I took the easy route and ordered this after seeing how ridiculously many headsets are out there.

The sound is decent, and the mic works well. The ear cups can get a little warm during a long call, but not terribly so. I do wish the cable was a few feet longer sometimes, but it works fine on a short USB extension if needed.

The size of the headset was much smaller than I anticipated but I figured I am using it in my zoom meeting , so it’s okay. The sound is great, I can hear clearly but my coworker complained that they are unable to hear me well.

They complained about the static background noise when I speak. I set up on another computer to test it out and the microphone would not register at all. Not sure if I received a defective product , but I am going to have to return it and buy another headset.

My new H570e headset is exactly as advertised. The sound quality and microphone are perfect for my need to manage my severe Low Vision and macular degeneration. I use Zoom for communication and JAWS for screen reading.

And I also use the microphone for speech-to-text; it transmits correctly my speech. The H570e handles these Low Vision requirements very well. The product quality is very good. B&H service was outstanding and the price is right.

Solidly built. The sound is warm and clear. The headband adjustment does not seem to make any difference to how tight the headset grabs. Very awkward to remove from your head as both earmuffs are bulky and there seems to be nothing steady to grab a hold of.

Sound travels along the cable to the headphone so you hear the cable brush against your arm or shoulder. The microphone arm when in the upright position is leaning too far out and can catch on objects.

Not suitable for people with small heads. I would not recommend this headset to anyone. I bought this product at a huge discount so it was worth trying. Compared to my Hyper-X, the Hyper-X is much better.

I watched many video reviews and read reviews about his headset and they were all favourable.

You need a good quality motherboard with quality capacitors to take full use of high fidelity earphones. Thankfully i’ve got just that so the sound is breathtaking. I could hear a fly fart in a big orchestration, the best i’ve experienced yet.

The headphones are heavy. Playing FF14 for hours takes its toll on my head and they can get uncomfortable to wear after 8+ hours. After 1+ year of use the earcups are already totally ruined and i’d have to buy replacements.

Sennheiser the leading German audio specialists have recently sold their EPOS brand to some swiss hearing aid company. I do not recommend buying EPOS anymore ^. ^.

Sennheiser GSP 500 Gaming Headset: I’ve had the headset for about 4 weeks (previously used 30 year old very basic and cheap ear phones) and the GSP500 works extremely well. The stereo sound is exceptionally clear and I can hear all the frequencies (in music, movies and games).

The main game I have been playing is Realm Royale which produces very complex sounds – I can hear all the sounds clearly and tell where footsteps are coming from etc. I’m told my voice is very clear and natural when using the microphone.

I bought the GSP 500 specifically as it works well with iMacs (and Win10). There are Win10 only models. I also bought the GSP500 as it was compatible with Sennheiser’s “audio amplifier / surround sound” gadget for gaming (GSX 1000) which I did eventually buy and the headset is amazing with the amp.

on both Win10 and iMacs. Issues: – the headset is comfortable but feels a little heavy because it is very sturdy construction. – I have a narrow head but some players, with large heads, have reported a “tightness” discomfort.

– the headset was “plug and play” on my iMac, but under Win10 I had to restart the microphone everytime I woke the computer from sleep, or booted. This was annoying.

I have owned many Bluetooths over the years. This is one of the very best. I have never needed customer service, and have purchased other brand names with a few MAJOR disappointments. That being said, Jabra is a name I trust for quality and durability.

I have owned THREE Talk 25s over the years, and have abused them demonstrably. Excellent Bluetooth. (I buy Jabra. ).

the device has been put through a lot of talk time, i have had it for almost a year i think? and it still work OKish, because it has been acting up although i have put it through a lot!!! it has been submerged dropped more times than i can remember, But i like it and it is still working to this day.

so 2 thumbs up!!! Alas it’s 2021 and by my own hand I put the device in the wash and it quit working. so after years of dependable use I came back to say that my Jabra was an excellent device and probably would have lasted longer if I had not washed it.

Out of the blue I lost my old Bluetooth. Bought the Jabra Talk 25 today, it paired up to my S20 Note Ultra without a problem. I made a few calls to clients and they all said the sound quality was better than my old one.

It is easy to use and small, perfect. I didn’t want any of those Mondo headsets that are the cumbersome two ear things. The volume key is easy to adjust in case I need something louder than my phone volume, making calls, no sweat just press the back of the unit.

I spent good time to find overhead headphone and I almost bought SONY WH1000x m4 till I saw Jabra 85h. I bought Jabra for 190$. It was almost half price on competitors(SONY AND BOSE). Rate for this product is 4 STAR but with that price 100% worth to purchase and I can give it and additional star.

Very good quality of build and very good sound. main problem is connectivity When is connected in to 2 devices. I connected Jabra to apple Tv and my Iphone. It was disaster. Too much disconnection during watching move.

now when I want watching tv I just connected to 1 device and work perfectly. no latency or DC.

I’ve had these headphones for 11 months. Pros: 1. They are water resistant. 2. Connect to 2 devices, deliver sound from the one that starts playing first. 3. Build quality is fine. Cons: 1. Sound is average.

I had Sennheiser before, Jabra is not even close. 2. In ANC mode I can always hear a noise, shhh in the headphones. 3. After 10 months the right ear pad sounds noticeable louder than the left one, especially in ANC mode.

4. Sometimes the headphones make a loud noise directly in my ears and restart, maybe once a week.

Have been using a basic Jabra wired headset for some years, but craved a wireless version so I didn’t have long cords to faff with during daily set-up as well as something that connected to my mobile phone for hands-free calling but most importantly, making sure I didn’t sound like I was talking through a tin can and wouldn’t send background noise through the call.

I normally prefer over-ear style for comfort, but this ticked all the other boxes and was positively reviewed, so I took the leap and after a month of daily work use, I agree this is a great headset for video/voice calling.

I have this set up with the USB “Link380” adaptor in my computer for the MS Teams functionality and Spotify listening, along with it simultaneously connected via bluetooth to an iPhone. This works great and the sound quality through the Link380 is great for music and calls, with colleagues mentioning this sounds far better.

The only two gripes I have are: – The audio quality for bluetooth devices – this is due to only supporting the basic SBC audio codec. Works great for calls, but don’t expect high fidelity for music from your phone.

I had done my homework and this was accepted because bluetooth music wasn’t the focus and it still sounds good through the proprietary Link380 BT adaptor, though) – My big head seems to mean the pressure on the ears is a bit uncomfortable after long periods (3+ hours).

This was my concern with on-ear, but the over-ear Jabra equivalents are far more expensive. This is easily remedied with a break or two. Again, self inflicted.

There are very few products I could possibly say were worth a 12-week wait, but the Jabra Evolve 2 75 is one of them. I was inspired to order one by a combination of experience with a much cheaper Jabra corded product (the Evolve 20), excellent online reviews, and the audio comparison with other SKUs done by Headset Advisor on their YouTube channel.

The minute I ordered it, however, it went out of stock. But it did finally arrive 2 weeks ago, and my experience is uniformly positive. The headset is extremely comfortable even for me (I have a very large head), the sound and mix are excellent, and the adaptive noise cancellation is much more than adequate for a general office setting.

It will be a couple of months until I can test it on the road. I’m not sure I really believe the advertised battery life, but that is also much more than adequate for an office. As far as I can tell, most people should be either buying something really cheap (they just don’t use it enough), identically the Apple AirPods Pro (and maybe a decent mic) or the tip of the line Jabra in whatever form factor you like best.

The mic is not perfect, but it is in the top 5-10% of your Zoom calls, and works even when you are away from your desk. If you really are podcasting, I’m sure you would prefer a dedicated and better mic, but for most other people I’m really not sure.

And versatility is why this is actually worth waiting and paying for. It would be a steal for a real sale price, which we’ll only see when they can keep the SKU in stock.

This is probably a defective unit but Headset Advisor Support was amazing. I am glad I bought it here at HeadsetAdvisor. Second good thing is the quality is sound is amazing and ANC for speakers is also good.

Now the cons: (1) The main reason I bought this Headset was for the Mic’s noise cancellation. I don’t want my work colleagues to put up with all the noises at end/home like Baby screams, TV in the living room, Street Cars, Wife’s phone calls, even my key board or washroom faucets etc but it failed miserably.

They can hear everything from my side and even worse is my voice was so bad that they can’t understand at all. Updated firmware and restarted and reseted everything multiple times and made at least 50 calls from every App on my phone for over a period of week and all were bad.

I really hope it’s faulty unit and Headset Advisor is planning to replace it. (2) When placed on the neck the headset ear cushions are pointed outwards, What a weird design. Come-on Jabra, no one pointed this out when you were designing this? (3) Headset is not stable on my head.

It can easily fall when your head is not straight. I believe this is the issue with all on-ear headset as compared to over the ear ones. Anyway, this is really bad experience but my cheap TechNet Headset which was reviewed by Drew is working like a charm.

Very reasonable price for what you get. A trusted brand and the quality that you would expect. These are definitely not audiophile headphones nor is the mic going to be adequate for recording music but it is just a good all round headset for everyday use.

Worked perfectly first try on my Manjaro Linux PC, I simply just plugged it into my front USB port and I was away. This is perfect if your PC doesn’t have a combined mic/headphone jack which usually means the mic input is going to be extremely static (mine was).

Using USB as the interface means the audio is delivered digitally with way less static!.

Thanks again Elijah Gilbert for the recommendation. It is exactly as I wanted it to do. I work from home and have a lot of video conferencing and this headphone may be lightweight and not as expensive as other headphones that costs us more than $200, it catches real time conversations etc.

As for it being lightweight, no one uses it but me for my video conferencing and store safely too. Thanks PB Tech for making sure that your telephone lines are answered so that people who can’t walk into the store like me ( due to medical reasons) can have access to your wares like everyone else.

The directions were poor, like nonexistent. There was just a little drawing showing that the usb should plug into the computer. Says plug and play. When I first plugged it in I expected it to work and that I would hear the sound from my computer thru the new headset.

Wrong. After about 15 minutes of trying everything I could think of to get the sound, I finally Googled it and the Logitech website gave me everything I needed to know. In all, it took me over a half hour to get the right information to make it work.

The headset itself actually works great! But what a pain and a wasted half hour of frustration when it would have been so simple to include the directions. And they are simply: go to your computer’s “system preferences” and click on “sound.

” Then click on “Logitech. ” It cudn’t be simpler BUT WHO KNEW?.

I bought this when my last headset stopped working suddenly, (4 year old Microsoft headset). I work from home and do phone customer support so the headset is a vital piece of equipment for me. Firstly the sound is great and don’t get too many complaints about the caller not hearing me.

When I do it’s most likely the vpn or phone software. My first of two complaints about the headset is that with the wire coming from the right ear doesn’t suit me well since my computer is on the left an the weight of the wire pulls it off my head if I lean forward.

2nd is that the red light on the wire that indicates the mute button is pressed suddenly stopped after about a month of use, this making it hard to know it’s muted until someone cannot hear me. Frankly i’d like the wire to be a little lighter weight, the volume/mute control on the wire rather then the ear piece and the ear piece to have more of a cup rather then flat.

I bought this because I needed something quick and there wasn’t much else to choose from. It does the job but I can’t say it’s fantastic. Not sure why the chord is on the right as most people are right handed.

The wire just gets in the way. I’ve managed to live with it tucked under the laptop but I can’t get the microphone close enough to my face. That being said, no one has complained about not being able to hear me and the noise reduction is pretty decent.

I will keep it as a backup. If you are on the phone all day you might consider paying a bit extra for something of a high quality. This was the highest I could go without getting into Bluetooth.

I’ve had this pair before years ago. Liked them. Build quality and comfort is nothing special, it just works. My last headset I got recently, I had problems with it. I gave them away and picked these up to hold hold me over.

I appreciated them all over again. The sound is acceptable, nothing special. Mic works fine communication wise. Friends haven’t complain at all, even when I use the near a fan. When reviewing video recordings with voice, I’ve noticed average/typical voice quality on my end, little to no background noise in normal circumstances.

For a budget gaming headset, I -100%- recommend them in that regard.

I was so glad to find this refurbished headset at a very reasonable price. I took a chance that it would work properly, as I really liked the one I had for years, but had broken it accidentally, and a new one was very expensive.

I’ve tried other brands, but none of them fit well on my ears, so this was great. I can’t tell at all what was wrong with it, as whoever refurbished it did an excellent job–thank you!.

The wire protection is nice and thick. Cheaper headsets used to get emi interference in my room and this has the protection needed to block it out. Previous headsets have been so bad I had to wrap a soft faraday shield around cords before they were usable.

The mute has a red indicator light which is useful in call center work. I prefer my controls on the side of the headset for mute and this headset does that. There are also three settings, calls, games, and music with can be changed on the fly.

I have found an audible difference in the sounds per setting so you can definitely see which setting works best for your app. Great flexibility!.

Even tho the ear cups are comfortable they don’t provide much noise cancelling. This isn’t really a con but it should be noted. My biggest disappointment with this product is the quality of the USB plastic housing.

I shouldn’t have to use tape to keep this product together. I wouldn’t have purchased this product for myself. However it’s price is right for the quality of the product. I would recommend this product for those who like to Skype and not for those who like to listen to music.

It’s an excellent product for those that want an entry level chat device that provides great call quality.

I want to preface this with saying that THIS IS NOT TARGET’S FAULT! I work from home, having a headset is essential! This is the 2nd headset of Logitech that I have had to buy in the last 6 months. The 1st worked perfectly fine up until the day (03/31) that the left speaker decided to randomly go out.

The 2nd headset I had to buy the same day so that I could work. I took it out, plugged it in, both speakers work but NO ONE, and this bares repeating, NO ONE that called in FOR MY JOB could hear me. I switched back to the 1st headset with the one speaker just to be able to do my job.

Funny thing is, the side that the speaker doesn’t work is the same side that the mic is on, which works perfectly fine.

The sound is ok. It lacks a little in bass but at this price point can’t complain too much. My biggest problem is having to replace them every few months because the cord breaks down right below the strain relief were it enters the headphone.

This is my third set this year. My other problem is the more expensive headphones have the same issue so why pay more for something that will break just as fast. Until I find a better USB headset that has solved this problem I guess I’ll just keep buying these.

This headset worked perfectly for about a week. Right out of the package plug n play sinc with my phone. After about a week, plugged it in to charge then after about 2 hours charging, unplugged it and ready to use it would not sinc back to my phone.

I tried toubleshoot as the manual had said and nothing. So I had to return it. what i liked about it was that i could answer incoming calls from the micro phone. I didn’t like the workmanship of the headset.

i didnt like the wire or metal work of piece over the head. i think it could use some padding.

First impressions on unboxing the Logitech Zone Vibe 100 are very good which is unsurprising as Logitech is brand renowned for fantastic tech accessories. I was very impressed with the sleek design and the high build quality is immediately apparent.

They are very modern and minimalist and don’t look over the top (perfect for work). I love the simple design of the microphone and that you can tuck it subtly into the headphones. The head phones are incredibly lightweight which is perfect for a day of back-to-back meetings the construction incorporates recycled plastic as well, a massive win in my opinion! The installation and set up was very straightforward with Bluetooth connection that quickly and easily paired with my phone and laptop.

Battery life is very impressive as I don’t seem to have to charge them for several days at a time. The sound quality on these headphone is perfect. Sound in video playback and music was really impressive and not at all tinny.

There is also an app where you can adjust the EQ but I haven’t had any need to use it. The real game-changer for these headphones is the noise cancelling microphone!!! This has changed virtual meetings for me.

I work from home 3 days a week (in a house with young children) and up until now I have been paranoid that my colleagues will be disrupted by my 2 year old daughter, now I can rest assured that my colleagues won’t hear a thing.

This feature will also really come in handy for those working in coworking spaces and cafes! These are the best and most versatile headphones I’ve ever had. They have changed working from home for me and I will be recommending them to friends and family.

I got these about 2 weeks ago and have used them for various things in that time and have come to like them very much. First of all on unpacking them I noticed that they are a little smaller than I was expecting but are the perfect size and look very nice in the grey colour.

Ergonomically they feel very nice when put on. although the over the head strap isn’t well padded but still feels very comfortable, the padding around the ear encompasses the ears well and helps reduce background noise.

The flip down mic isn’t intrusive in any way at all, and the weight of these is quite low so there are no issues wearing them for prolonged periods. Charging the headphones takes no time at all and lasts a few days.

you can do a quick 5-10 minute charge and get over an hours worth of use out of them so great if you just need to do a quick meeting online and the battery is dead. Charging is through a USB C cable which is handy for me as I always have my MacBook charger to hand so can just charge the headphone as and when I need them.

Pairing them is straight forward and there is an APP to help with this. Once paired the sound quality is excellent. everything is crisp and clear and the surround sound is very good. I have been told that when talking through these my voice comes across very clear with no background noise being noticed.

The bluetooth range seems to be very good as well as I have walked around whilst connected to a meeting and made myself a brew without any interuption or interference. All the buttons are in the right place and can easily be accessed when in use.

once you have gotten used to where they are on the headset. If you are looking for a headset that is great for online meetings and work but also has the sound quality to enable you a great experience when listening to music then go no further.

these are superb at both and are very comfortable to wear. I would highly recommend these to anybody looking at investing in a new set of wireless headphones.

I’ve been using these headphones for a few weeks, and here are some of my observations. The headset is very light and makes wearing them comfortable, especially if you need to use it for prolonged periods of time.

Whilst the aesthetics look good, the feel is slightly plasticky. For example, the band is not padded; it’s simply some fabric covering the wire skeleton. The ear muffs move up and down and are connected by springy wires.

As the headset is light, they don’t slip down your ears. The mic is almost hidden in the left ear muff, and does well to stay out of the way when not in use. When you pull it down, it automatically unmutes and vice versa when you put the mic back up.

If you use these for phone calls, there is a separate mute function that you can activate using the buttons on the side of the headset. It doesn’t take long to charge (via usb c) and the bluetooth connectivity has been good.

The only problem that I have is when I use it for communication on Discord (though, this might be a setting issue on my end rather than a criticism of the product itself). When connected using the “hands-free” headset on discord, the feedback that I get from others is that the sound from my voice is very tinny and not of good quality.

This isn’t too much of a problem for short periods of communication, but I suspect if you are gaming for long periods, this may irritate your teammates on the other end. Other than that, these headphones have been super comfortable and they do what you need a pair of headphones to do.

These seem to be tuned specially for making phone calls. The sound is crisp, which makes calls from low quality phones sound really clear. The quality of the mic is also good. The mute and volume buttons work great, both on Windows and macOS (I use these headphones on both operating systems).

I can’t speak for the Teams button; I don’t use it and think it is a waste of space. In general, the headphones are good quality. I wished the ear cups were made of a breathable fabric, as they can get kinda hot on your ears.

Plus, that faux leather on headphones usually starts to flake off after a year (I have had these headphones for a couple of months and that hasn’t happened yet). The noise cancelling feature is not that great but works pretty well if you have a low-noise environment.

They are pretty light and their grip won’t give you a headache. However, the ear cups don’t rotate, so it’s hard to get a good seal on them. And finally, there is the hotspot on my head because of the headband.

It is comfortable, but after a couple of hours of making calls, it becomes an issue. DO NOT use these headphones to listen to anything else other than phone calls. They are terrible for music, just awful.

I say that because I think I read a comment here about how awful these sound with music; they are simply not made for that but for call center jobs.

This is a lightweight headset, and is tuned heavily for teams and phone audio. Pros: Inexpensive Stereo Teams Controls (when they work) Very clear with phone calls Cons: Earcups are 100% fixed in place.

no swivel or tilt Multimedia audio is mediocre at best We are testing Microsoft Teams Phones, and my bluetooth headset wasn’t cutting it. I’ve used plantronics headsets for phones for years, and I understand that a quality, durable headset can feel cheap and flimsy at first.

This Microsoft Modern USB Headset feels like that. I think it’s a quality product meant to be as light as possible for maximum comfort. Where comfort falls apart is the fact that the headband is the only truly adjustable part of this headset.

Sure the boom mic pivots, but it does not go in or out. The cups on the ears also do not pivot at all, so on my apparently oddly shaped head, I get more pressure at the back of the cups than the front, and the headset feels like it’s trying to squeeze off the front of my head.

This is enough of an issue, that I’m returning the headset. The included cord is a decent length, and seems like a nice cable. it straightened out nicely overnight, and is of medium softness/flexibility.

The earcups are hard and hollow, so on a beard they do “”amplify”” movement/scratch sounds. The controller seems mixed at best. On windows 10, the teams specific buttons did not seem to work well at all, even with the Microsoft accessory app installed.

On Windows 11, the teams and call buttons worked great. The speakers are tuned for the human voice, and sound great with dialog, but fall flat with music and multimedia. Even equalization apps don’t seem to alter the sound of the headset, I’m assuming due to the USB nature of the headset and how the sound interface is defined in the system.

So the sound is largely non-adjustable. If your head is normal, and you care first and foremost about call quality, this is a great headset. If you’re looking for an “”all-rounder”” for people with all shapes and sizes, I’d go for a more adjustable headset.

I’m going to try out the Poly Blackwire 5220 next which should check all the boxes save for a Teams-optimized controller.

Okay, I’m trying out the wired headsets for our office, and they’re amazing. At this price point, Microsoft will have a hit with offices. Microsoft fit themselves between Plantronics’ low-end blackwire 3000 series which is around $40 and their next models (the 5000 series) which is around $80.

It destroys the 3000 series on all levels from build quality to audio quality to comfort. I will argue it’s more comfortable than the more expensive 5000 series and audio quality is debatable and when it’s debatable, you go with the cheaper one.

I got really good comments from fellow office workers who tried out their new headsets too. First comments were how soft and comfortable the headsets were. A couple of them were regular users of the Plantronics Focus UC wireless headsets.

I always thought the Focus headsets were comfortable but my office workers said these Microsoft ones beat it. They said the audio quality was better on both sides (caller, receiver) with the Microsoft though it’s a bit unfair to compare because the Microsoft ones are wired and the others are meant to travel around the office up to 100 ft.

We use softphones for the majority of our staff (IP desk phones are maybe 30% while softphones are 70%). I can imagine replacing the Plantronics headsets with these Microsoft ones if they hold up to the abuse (office workers are far more abusive to equipment than consumers because consumers usually pay for their own equipment).

Another advantage for Plantronics is because of its ubiquity, you can easily find replacement parts like ear padding covers. Unless these Microsoft ones become a smash hit, you have to hop the padding lasts an extremely long time.

We haven’t tried the Teams integration yet as our primary phone system is RingCentral. We use Teams for video calls and messaging mainly with the occasional audio calls. These are definitely worthy of a purchase.

I can’t believe the value you get. For this price range, you don’t expect the material to feel so supple and full of quality. I haven’t tried the wireless yet. I can’t imagine replacing the Focus UC yet because 1) RingCentral softphones only allow Plantronics headsets to answer calls from the headset (all other headsets require that you answer on the computer on or on the wired controller) and 2) the Focus UC has a 100 ft range.

It’s an okay headset. Not always the easiest to connect, sound quality is nothing special. I work from home and spend much of my day on calls so I thought this would be more comfortable then earbuds, which it is.

The reason I didn’t give it higher ratings is the issues connecting it and the complaints I get from others about my voice cutting out when using the headset.

There’s a glitch and I can’t change the stars to 3 it deserves. Let me start by saying the idea is wonderful but I should’ve know for the price that I was getting. an ehhh product. I’m on phones all day, and the wireless headset idea is great! BUT the padding/earpiece is teeny tiny, and mind you I have small ears anyway but maybe if your an infant this would be a better option.

The sound is not great almost under water like. Taking my lose for this one since I wanted to be cheap lol.

Let me start by saying that I drive for a living, I’m a route sales rep so I need a good headset to talk with customers wile driving since it’s illegal to hold a phone in a dot vehicle. I’ve owned a pair for a few weeks and wear them all day everyday.

So looking at the unit, the headset fits me fine, I’m 6’2″ and I have a large head yet they still fit fine. That’s not to say there isn’t an adjustment period. You have to get used to the pressure on the ear and I recommend you don’t listen to loud music as it vibrates and will hurt over time.

Listening to background music quietly I have no discomfort throughout the day. The buttons are easy to press and they are intuitive enough that after a couple hours it will be second nature to stop and play music, skip songs and take calls.

The mic can pivot but for me there is no reason to ever move it from fully down. If I’m eating it’s far enough back I don’t have to worry about food getting on it. And moving it up brings it in to my field of vision, if I move it all the way up the mic ends up in a awkward spot pressing in to my hair.

Speaking of the mic, the mic seems to work incredibly well, I’ve got been told that I do sound very clear even when I’m rolling my product on rough pavement making lots of constant noise. As far as sound quality of the actual headset, well.

It’s not an in ear, or on ear headset. It’s vibrating the cartilage in front of your ear. The sound is clear and you can easily make out what the artist is saying even during loud points of songs. That said, the sound quality isn’t nearly as good as a good pair of in ears.

The sound is a little empty and since the whole point is to not have anything in your ear, the sound is very lost if you are in a loud environment as there is no isolation. My one main complaint, and it’s kind of a big one.

Battery life is not great. Just listening to music it lasts okay, around 6 to 8 hours. The problem happens when you are on calls for a wile or having to make several calls. I’ve gotten as low as 3 hours on calls until it dies, yet other times I’ve gotten 6 hours of talk time.

The noise canceling might be to blame, I didn’t make note of how much noise was around me in both times, in any case it forces me to keep a cord with me. Kind of frustrating, but it’s not to worst thing.

They set is waterproof so it is uses a proprietary charger as to maintain a seal I’d assume, so I have to bring its specific cable along with me instead of a type C like all my other peripherals. Honestly if it had a larger battery I’d give it a 5 star review and honestly not have much bad to say, not that it’s detrimental, but it has held me back from recommending the headset to colleagues since most of us are working longer than 6 hours and will require a top up throughout the day.

Looking at the headset I’d rather have the part that sets just behind the ear just be bigger and have the capability of 12 hours of actual talk time. I suppose that would add weight and might cause discomfort on the top of the ear, I’d still like to have an option of a larger battery.

If you don’t need longevity, yet like the convenience of headset solution that leaves your ears open. Then I can whole heartedly recommend the aftershocks opencomm. If you like the idea of an open ear headset, great ergonomics, decent sound quality, and the convenience of not removing an ear bud to have a conversation, then I still think you should consider the aftershock opencomm.

Just remember to keep a charge cord with you. It charges somewhat fast I suppose I should add, since it doesn’t hold much, it’s fairly quick to fill from empty, takes me a little over an hour to get a full charge from empty.

I got these as a new daily driver headset for the office and home office. My mind is honestly blown by how good the Shockz are. I think the price is very reasonable, considering the novelty of bone conduction sound and improved ergonomics, compared to even more expensive headsets, like various ones by Jabra, JBL etc.

Sound Quality: The Shockz surprised me with crisp, clear audio, however they don’t really have a deep sounding bass. Maybe I could improve this by fiddling with the EQ, but it doesn’t really bother me much, the default is fine.

On low to medium volume, the headset’s sound can’t really be heard from bystanders. On high volumes a bystander can hear a bit of noise, but not so much that it would bother them. I’d say it’s the same or less as other headsets.

You can definitely wear these in the office and on a train or bus without annoying people. They are really light and comfortable, sometimes I forget I am wearing them. After wearing them for a long time they put a bit of pressure on the top of my ear, but shifting them around a bit relieves this.

The slight discomfort is still better than wearing other headphones all day, in my opinion. They have a tight fit and so far I have found it impossible for them to fall off, even when running or working out, they don’t even jiggle around much.

Comfort and fit probably varies per person and depends on the shape and size of your head and haircut. They should fit most people well with short hair or long hair that is put back in a bun, however someone with a huge haircut will probably have issues wearing this headset.

Just look at the picture to decide if this might be an issue for you. Pairing and connecting my laptop, desktop and phones worked relatively easily. One thing to remember is the headset must be turned off for pairing, then you hold the ‘+’ button to pair.

It’s easy to forget that you need to turn the headset off for this to work. Pairing two devices at once is also a supported feature, but I have yet to try this out. I wonder if audio output/input then works for both? So far I simply switch devices by enabling/disabling bluetooth.

The headset then automatically connects to the device that has bluetooth on. The manual describes how everything works, it’s mostly straightforward. One slight annoyance I have is that the volume buttons don’t work during a call for me, only while playing media (music, movie or games), instead the device will tell you the battery status and to change the volume you must do so on the device that the headset is connected to.

The pause/previous/next buttonworks quite well, for example when playing videos or playlists on youtube. Overall I find the Shockz headset to be an innovative, impressive new piece of tech and I find it a relief to not have something plugged in to my ears or covering them all day.

This ergonomics reason is really what I got them for and they absolutely fulfill this usecase. I am now considering getting a second pair, the Shockz OpenRun without the mic piece for listening to music on bike rides.

Wow! What an amazing improvement! I have significant hearing loss in one ear due to Superior Canal Dehiscence Syndrome – I have a hole through the bone above my superior semicircular canal into the brain cavity that allows sound pressure arriving through the outer/middle ear into the inner ear to escape into the brain cavity, which significantly reduces stimulation inside the cochlea.

I tell my friends my brains are falling out, because I have holes in my head. Truth is, it’s really the other way around. Sound is escaping into my brain cavity. Physiologically my entire hearing system is fully functional, but losing too much sound to the cranial cavity.

No, the sound from the AfterShokz headset isn’t as full as the rich sounds and harmonies I could still hear up to about 10 years ago, but it’s so much better than what I have been hearing conventionally through the ear canal, which is almost nothing.

It probably has more to do with “bone-head” resonance or lack thereof than the actual sound the AfterShokz is capable of producing. I have been working almost exclusively at home since COVID19 closed offices.

Up to now I have used an over the ear – more like on the ear – Bluetooth stereo Rand McNally headset for all phone calls, on-line training, and on-line meetings. I’m on the phone and in tele-meetings 70% of the time.

Why the Rand McNally set? It was a $100 Bluetooth headset on markdown at Walmart to $40. I needed a headset I could use with my PC or Cell that made it easy to go back and forth between the two. I find the pressure to the side of the head too painful for 99% of all headsets and stereo headphones, even the $300 to $400+ headsets.

I took a chance for $40. The $40 pair, though somewhat painful, served me well for two years until the molded plastic cracked and finally fell apart. Tape just wasn’t enough anymore. Even in stereo and using the advanced sound enhancement settings on my phone, the Rand McNally set was still mostly a single-sided experience.

As a professional lyric tenor in my much younger years, just hearing music again in both ears via the AfterShokz headset was indeed an emotional experience. I had to stop singing altogether 10+ years ago, because all I could hear in my head from my voice was “metal” as my hearing slowly deteriorated.

I just figured it was old age. Only recently has my hearing deteriorated to the point that it came time to find out why. Until I bought this headset, I thought that all I would hear in my ear was “metal” after spending exorbitant amounts of money for a real hearing aid.

I thought the rich tones would be lost to my cranial cavity, so what would be the point of even trying? So what’s the verdict? I no longer have the painful pressure to the side of my head and wear reading glasses over the headset with minimal discomfort.

I now have a quality, zippered semi-rigid case molded to fit the headset that protects it in my travel backpack. I no longer have a future expectation to tape up cracked, broken rigid plastic – you won’t find any on this headset.

I can connect the charging cable without my reading glasses – the magnetic connector repels the headset if you try to put it on backwards. The headset is much smaller and lighter, and a real plus+++++ I can once again drive the 1-1/4 hours to the office listening to the radio without turning the volume up so high the people in the cars next to me can hear it better than I, and still hear everything around me with the exception of the hearing loss.

I come through clear on the other end of the connection using my PC or Cell. Even though I can pair the AfterShokz with 2 devices, I do have to disconnect one Bluetooth device to connect to the other.

My Rand McNally headset switched automatically, but got confused at times, so I still had to disconnect from one device to use the other. But by far the most valuable to me, is hearing music in both ears once again.

If you have hearing loss similar to mine, the AfterShokz headset could really make a difference, but you will need to use the enhanced audio settings on your phone to balance the sound in both ears. It even works with one of the transducers pressed against my forehead.

Without question, the AfterShokz ASC100 headset far exceeds my expectation for what I thought I would never hear again.

From the initial unpacking it took only 10 minutes to start using the headphones, this included downloading the supporting Jabra App, and connecting devices. The headphones came already charged, and this initial charge lasted for well over a week whilst being used everyday.

The supporting App shows information such as battery level, headset settings, firmware updates, headset location, and tutorials. The MySound feature allows you to optimise the settings based on your personal hearing profile.

You can also use a range of presets depending if you are listening to speech, or music. During the week of reviewing the headphones I have listened to podcasts, audiobooks, and music with my iphone and ipad.

I have also connected to my laptop for Microsoft Teams meetings. You can pair multiple devices, and have a maximum of two devices Bluetooth-connected simultaneously. I found the controls on the headset very easy to use and I was very impressed by the dual microphone.

I found the phone call quality very good after adjusting the sidetone setting within the App. The microphone also works with Siri, Alexa and Cortana. They are very comfortable to wear. I like the fact that you can rotate the ear cushions through 90 degrees whilst not in use, either on a flat surface, or around your neck allowing them to sit more comfortably.

A full charge takes around two hours but a fast charge which gives 10 hours battery life takes only 15 minutes. In summary, previously I have mainly used in-ear headphones as I found the over-ear ones uncomfortable but the Jabra Elite 45h has changed my opinion and I have really enjoyed the enhanced quality of audio experienced from these headphones.

I am happy to recommend these as a good all-round performing set of headphones.

The mic is not tremendeous and doesn’t do a good job of isolating voice. I was unable to connect this headset to my Android phone (Pixel 4A, running Android 13). I was successful connecting to an iPhone SE (running iOS 15) and Dell PC running Win 10.

Now that I am unsatisfied with them, since I did not purchase them directly through Jabra and they are now open (how else am I to test them) I am stuck with them. Thesource. ca does not accept returns once the headphones are opened.

So lesson is to purchase directly through Jabra or test them in advance where possible.

Jabra Elite 45H product review These are really good headphone and I have really put them to the test. To get set up, you start by following the instructions on the box which directs you to download the free app and gives you a basic indication of the set process.

Once downloaded, the app takes you through a series of steps to get the headphone aligned to your standard of hearing. The instructions are straight forward and it is results in high quality sound. The level of hearing in my ears is not equal and so the settings allow for optimal hearing based on each ear, also you can adjust for head height and angle of ears.

The app has several other tabs you may wish to explore as you familiarise yourself with it The battery life is amazing, I gave them a little extra charge by connecting the USB to my laptop and the battery has remained high for well over a week and I have used them a lot to listen to my audiobooks.

The sound quality is excellent, the ear pads are soft and comfortable. Be warned your ears will get warm with prolonged use. The range is excellent. I went to the furthest corners of my home to check for loss of signal and there was not even a flicker.

The controls on the headphones are simple to use and you can also operate basic functions on your smartphone should you be so inclined. I like that fact that I can stop and start my book with a single button.

In closing, the Jabra Elite 45H will give you value for money, they are easy to set up to more than one device, they are so comfortable, easy to tidy away and provide you will excellent sound quality.

I purchased the AH6B a year ago and they are comfortable and have long battery life. But I have had nothing but trouble with these headphones. I have never experienced the worst quality where have had to exchange so many times, send picture and videos of how the mic gives out and does not work! Either the person on the phone can’t hear me, I can’t hear them or there is an absolute horrible sound in between.

The issue is definitely in the making because you can’t have a repetition of the same issue when other headsets work fine and add dongles to it. Either the area where insert the mic is the issue or inside it is loose because after you wiggle it around you can hear fine.

It has been a nightmare – I hoped to have written an excellent review at least after the changes but the experience has been horrendous. Glad to hear some have had good experiences using the headphones as cannot give a rating of 1.

Sad thing, I have a family member who is an IT expert who has tried to assist and has checked everything in my computer in case that’s the problem but can’t find anything wrong. Due to the amount of calls and meeting I have to deal with it’s not fun to deal with these additional issues for so long but – I’ve given Avantree a try and will definitely not be recommending them.

I ordered this headset as an option to my $500 Sony Over-The-Ear-Headset. I wear hearing aids. Over-the-ear headsets cause problematic audio feedback to my hearing aids. This on-ear headset does not cause that problem and thus meets my expectations at a reasonable price.

Thus, I am happy with the purchase. But, there is one main issue with this headset. The volume control is very stiff and difficult to adjust. The spring tension on the volume control is too strong and requires a lot of finger force to adjust.

The volume control needs better friction grip to help with the adjustment (as well as reduced spring tension on the control).

I got these because I ear buds seem to have too high sound pressure level, I wanted something to go over the ears. This Avantree headset sounds much better than the high-end earbuds I was using. The bass is quite full and satisfying.

I use these mostly for listening to music, but they also work great during phone calls. No one has ever complained that they can’t hear me. I don’t use the mic extension, it does not seem to be necessary.

These headphones also support pairing to two sources at the same time, so I can answer calls from my phone and PC without effort. Noise cancellation seems fine, but I haven’t really tried to evaluate it.

The battery lasts for days.

Let me start by saying that I am by no means some kind of audio expert. However, I can tell you that I have certainly spent my share of hard earned dollars over a lifetime on all sorts of headsets and plugs, usually in the $100-$150 range.

I was told about these from one of the excellent members of the staff at BestBuy after I had decided to get something decent for my home theater set up. As we walked towards the Magnolia section of the shop my heart began to sink knowing full well that I was gonna be giuded toward something that was amazing but wouldnt be able to justify the cost of.

I was partially correct. From the literal first second I tried these on, I was blown away. No exaggeration at all the sound was so good its shocking. But what floored me was the price!! These cans sound better than my $500 surround sound system and far better than anything I’ve ever owned.

Not even close. Synched up seamlessly to my LGC1 and provides full atmos and 7. 1 support without any delays or lag. They also worked my XBOX Series X and although they do not include a mic these are an absolute game changer during Halo or COD.

Comes with a nice little case and fold away for easy storage. The accompanying app allows you to fine tune your audio as needed and noise canceling works well although not the greatest. If there is one draw back its that they are quite tight around the head.

I imagine this is part of the noise canceling capabilities. Overall I am still amazed just about every time I watch something like Dune or Shang Chi with these. Highly recommended.

After having my HD 4. 40BT’s for over 5 years now and only needing to replace the earcups, I thought I’d give these a while at half price. One of the best decisions I’ve made. The 458BT brings across all the things that made my 4.

40BT’s great. Easy Bluetooth pairing with superb range, phenomenal sound quality squeezed out of Bluetooth, insane battery life and a solid design with high quality materials. I’ve heard complaints about the headband size and comfort ability but I’ve got a huge noggin and can work 8 hours in these with ease.

The noise cancelling isn’t the best in the market but it does manage to block louder noises quite impressively for its price. Sennheiser’s Sound Check mode is great for people who are inexperienced with EQ’s and makes it really easy to get the best out of your headphones.

These are a great buy and I’m excited to see what Sennheiser have planned for the next model.

Short story; These Sennheiser headphones are fantastic as well as versatile! For most of my life, I’ve tried to find excellent headphones that don’t cost a small fortune ($100 or less) and these deliver.

In March 2020, I bought a set of Sennheiser HD 4. 50 phones on sale through Best Buy. (They’re functionally the same as the HD 458’s, but with some minor structural differences. ) I love them so much, I jumped on a sale-priced, HD 458 set to travel in my laptop bag.

Versatility: I can use them wirelessly or wired, with or without the Active Noise Reduction on. If I’m on a plane and they insist on no broadcasting electronics, I can just plug them in, make sure the ANR is off and they’re like any other simple headphones.

My normal use for them is while working in front of the computer, plugged in and the Noise Reduction on. This configuration allows for an incredibly long battery life. I can’t say how long, but I can go many, many days without needing to recharge it.
