20 Best Hand Truck For Stairs (2023 Updated)

I bought this cart about a month ago for my wife because she’s been doing a lot of shopping due to the pandemic, and the kids would complain because, In New York grocery stores do not give plastic bags anymore.

This cart became very handy. My wife love the color, the 6 wheels, 3 on both sides which makes it easy to go up and down the stairs. I had to get another one later. Now we got two. What a relief. No more complaints.

I saw this cart’s inventors on “Shark Tank” and then went about trying to locate it. I learned that even though Bed Bath & Beyond didn’t have it in the store, they were easily able to order it and get it to my house in 2 days! The cart is ideal for someone like me who can walk to the grocery store.

I simply put the lightweight cart into the top of the store’s grocery cart. I keep a reusable bag opened inside the cart. It was worth the extra $10 to get the stair-climbing wheels which go effortlessly over curbs.

I also pack the cart into my car to drive to other stores where I then repack a large order into individual bags in my car to make them easier to carry into my house. My bright red bag has multiple compartments that are ideal for holding coupons, a wallet, etc.

I even wheel it to the store when I expect to purchase only a couple of bottles or cans which are easier to wheel than to carry. The bag can hold 110 lbs. ! This bag isn’t only functional but it’s beautiful and fun to use.

It also has an attached cover that Velcros closed. No need to look any further if you want a shopping cart!!.

The stair climber kit does the job making my Magliner a more versatile tool for moving furniture and heavy objects out of basements. Because its an OEM part it fits right out of the box.

This product is top drawer. The quality is second to none. I expected something a lot less in value but my expectations have been under estimated. Service: top drawer, product: top drawer, quality: top gun! Thank you.

Magliner is a workhorse. I used this as a courier for FedEx and bought it for home use. Tires won’t go flat, will climb stairs, and move a lot of weight, a back saver!

I needed to move a wardrobe sized-cabinet up a flight of stairs. This truck helped greatly. It is also very good and very stable for moving things on the same level of a home. The product is built for someone shorter than me.

The handles are too low. If you are over 6’2″ or 180cm, this might cause you discomfort to use.

Haven’t had it long enough to do much but overall it is easy to handle and should do a good job for most routine moving chores. I particularly like the stair sliders and pneumatic tires

we got this hand truck to replace my old hand truck, we love this so much, it help us save alot of energy and moving things faster.

Works smoothly on flat service , bets her carrying a heavy basket laundry load, but a bit difficult to handle for elderly lady ( with bad legs) to accommodate her descending the basement stairs, either by pushing or pulling not has difficult ascending the stairs.

An easily adjustable handle would work mush better for someone her age. Also it makes considerable stair noise when traveling the stairs, granted better carpet would be nice in her older home, or softer wheels may reduce the noise factor, but it is what it is, as I have told her.

After rechecking sites on computer I note there are some out there with better handles grips and adjustable lengths; however, the price was not within my spending range All in all I personally would not recommend this product for elderly persons with basement laundry appliances yet in ranch style homes with minor (2/ 3) steps it is acceptable.

This cart is a lifesaver for me. Im 66 years old with arthritic knees. Grocery day was becoming a real pain (no pun intended) I live in an apartment building without a separate entrance so its a little walk from my car to my apartment.

Lugging bags of groceries inside was not fun. I can get quite a lot in here so its a big help. Then it folds up nicely to put away in the closet. Its sturdy enough – but not too heavy. But I would not call it heavy duty.

You get what you pay for, so for the price it cant be beat.

SO easy to assemble – just pop on the back wheels! This cart it’s not as big as one I had previously, which I had to get rid of because it was too difficult to get in and out of my SUV. This one is smaller, but it’s tall, so I believe I’ll be able to fit all of my groceries in at one time.

I am using this to unload my groceries, wheel them up to the front of my town home and up five steps to my door. No more aching back on grocery days!.

Equipment was run over when it fell off the truck. Only had to replace a couple brackets.

My Mom bought one of these convertible handcarts several years ago from Sam’s. She uses it all the time. I’ve been looking for one the last few month and I knew she bought hers from Sam’s. Went onto Sam’s website and there it was.

Picked it up the next day at the store. We are both widowed so we don’t have our husbands to move heavy or bulky items, this is perfect for taking garbage cans full of yard waste to the end of your driveway.

I have a large lighthouse, bridge and wishing well in my backyard, this makes it so much easier to move those types of things in for the winter and put them on my 3 season porch. Makes my life so much easier.

Read several reviews and almost didnt get it. Tires seemed to be a problem. Well. Yes because the tire pressure is low and putting weight on them might cause them to come off rim. Hubby filled them up to required psi and it worked great.

Glad for the heads up so we knew what to check. Love it!!! Priced great and being 2 positional is a win win.

I bought this dolly about four months ago and it’s been really useful. I moved into an apartment where the car is parked underground and there’s a bit of a hike from there to the elevator and my apartment.

This dolly easily stows in my car’s trunk and helps me bring in shopping, take out recycling, etc. Many people, when I was looking at reviews on this site, said that the pins holding the handle in place come out.

That happened to me at first too, but I have discovered the trick. You have to make sure that the pin has fully gone into the hole on the handle, and then you have to push it until you hear a click. Once you hear that, the pin won’t come out.

I’d recommend this item.

This cart is just what I needed to schlep heavy grocery boxes from car to condo. It replaces a beloved Magna Cart which finally gave up after ten years. Without this cart – well, I hate to think of the trouble I’d have.

Best of several I tried.

Convenient, portable, good for moving LIGHT office objects. Don’t expect it to perform like a a mover’s hand truck. Will not easily haul 2 cases of paper even though the ratings lead you to believe this.

Feels like telescopic handles will snap off with that load. Handles should also extend more to better balance the load. It’s light weight and fits in the trunk of the car and that’s we purchased it. Could also use some method of securing the load to the hand truck.

This item is useless for people 5’ 10” and taller. The design did not take into account of its functionality; after the cart is loaded, the weight pushes the handle upward and renders the cart useless when trying walk with it.

The handle should be longer and allow the weight to push the handle downward after loading the cart. This way, the natural force of gravity will rest the weight on to your extended arm and allows you to easily maneuver the cart and its load.

Total waste of money. I tried to use it for local grocery shopping and it failed miserably. It would have been better carrying the grocery home myself; at least I would not have to carry the dead weight of this useless cart along with me.

Extremely unhappy. Wish I can get my money back or be given credit towards a cart that actually worked!.

This is a GREAT little cart, and I suggest you buy this model of the Magna Cart instead of the Personal Magna Cart. You can tell the apart in the pictures by that horizontal bar across the top, right below the straight handle.

This model, the Ideal, has a rounded handle, and is missing that bar. Both of them are rated at 150 lbs max weight, but this one is more durable. I know someone who has the personal, and he’s having some problems with it- I don’t remember exactly what, but when we talked about it, I came away with the feeling that mine was the more durable of the two models.

This is the “Ideal” version. It is hefty. Strong frame, heavy base platform, nothing filmsy about it at all. I’m glad I chose this one. It weighs almost 10 lbs when empty. The base platform is 15. 50″ across, and 11.

25″ deep, if measured between the wheels. If your boxes are wide enough that they will not be sitting back between the 2 wheels, then the base will be 9. 25″ deep. The cart is easy to maneuver. Let me stress again, this is not a rickety little hand truck.

Buy it. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with it. 🙂 Picture this: You just got home from shopping. You have a gazillion little plastic sacks of stuff. You grab your Magna Cart from the back seat, where you were clever enough to put itbefore you loaded all your groceries into the trunk.

You bungee-cord a container, that you know will fit through your front door, onto the Magna, then you fill the container with all those bags that you used to carry in several trips. Then you walk them into your house.

You’re done! See if you can find 2 collapsing containers, and keep them in the trunk for when you plan to buy so much that it will not fit into only one. Get extra bungees. Then you can double stack them on the Magna Cart.

All I can think of is that you’ll only have to make ONE trip up the stairs. Sounds good to me! 1z2z3z4.

this is my second one and I absolutely love it!! I bragged about the first one so much, someone believed me and stole it!! My son actually asked why I was spending so much on a dolly. my response. because your mother has a million dollar back and Im not wrecking my back with a cheap dolly!! Learn to use the 3/4 upright position!! seems a little scary at first, but once you become confident with it, you will move everything in that position! Only “complaint” (question) I have always asked about these dollies.

why has noone ever made one with a BRAKE?? just a simple manual wheelchair brake would work! Nothing like watching it roll away from you with a load on it!! Had a woman designed this dolly, trust me.

it would have a brake!! Come on Costco guys. install a brake on them!! Id buy another one just to have the brake!!.
