20 Best Hand Moisturizer For Eczema (2023 Updated)

In the winter, the skin on my hands gets very dry and can split easily. I have tried lots of different hand creams with varying degrees of success, some of worked to some extent and some haven’t worked at all.

So I was interested but sceptical about trying out this hand cream. Firstly, I noticed that I only needed a small amount to cover my hands. It absorbed well and left my hands non-sticky or greasy. After a few days use, I noticed that my hands were softer and seemed to be dealing with the cold weather better.

They were less cracked as well. I carried this product around with me and applied it throughout the day, which gave me the best results. I don’t think it would have made such a difference if I had only applied it once or twice a day.

This is suitable for sensitive skin and didn’t irritate the parts of my skin that were cracked when I started this product trial. I would definitely buy this again as it made a visible difference, more so than most other products I have used.

So firstly the size of this product is deceiving. It comes in a small tube but be reminded that this is concentrated, so a litle really does go a lon, long way. The scent is pleasantly mild so not over powering.

I really like the consistency, its not too thick nor too runny so its not wasted! The consistency is perfect for absorption and doesnt leave me with greasy hands for the rest of the day. I noticed the quick absorption really rewarded my skin, both in looks and feel.

My hands felt refreshed and supple immediately. I really am super pleased with this product and would highly reccommend with 5 stars. Lastly the size of the product makes it easy to throw into a bag for days on the go! Less packaging also helps the earth!! Great product, great design, great results.

I must say my skin is quite fussy when it comes to hand cream as I find most hand creams to be to runny or difficult to absorb with no real difference to the condition of my hands. Not Neutrogena concentrated hand cream though, you only need a tiny bit and it provides instant moisture and relief for dry and chapped hands! I find in the winter I get even more cat’s claws around my nails and since testing this hand cream these have reduced dramatically and I can see a definite improvement in the condition of my skin and nails overall.

The tube is small and compact, perfect for popping in the handbag. I don’t find the scent overpowering and it is nice and subtle overall. I am so pleased with this hand cream that I will now only be purchasing Neutrogena concentrated hand cream from now, I cannot see any disadvantages or bad points to this cream as it’s just perfect for those with dry and sensitive hands! For people who are wondering what’s the difference between the old formula and the new formula, here is what I found: New Formula: – Rapeseed and linseed seed extract has switched places on the ingredient list.

Rapeseed is higher up on the ingredients list. – Argania Spinosa Kernel oil (new) has been added – More Coconut oil (existing) has been added – Honey, Sweet Almond, and Althaea Officinalis Root extract has been removed – Urea has been removed (it’s a star ingredient) – Some minor differences with the preservatives (no biggie) Due to the removal of ingredients and the addition of more oils in the hand cream, it is definitely much greasier and runny compared to the previous formula.

If you don’t mind having an oil-based hand cream, this would be okay. But every reformulation of a popular product is usually a step backward. I’m sticking with the old formulation and will be looking toward buying a hand cream packed with better moisturising ingredients.

Really wish they didn’t reformulate it. Don’t fix what isn’t broken. I hope they don’t reformulate the almond range or else I am done with Loccitane. The extracts are what makes it good.

We’ve had these little aluminum tubes of l’Occitane hand cream around the house and cars for years now. My husband loves the lavender fragrance, and I prefer the Shea Butter and Almond fragrances. These hand creams are very special; the formula absorbs well into the skin and doesn’t leave hands greasy.

They make all the little lines disappear as the skin is nourished. Just a warning about the Cherry Blossom fragrance. It is VERY strong and not to my liking; I had a tube come in a set and was trying to use it up, so I put it in my car.

Then this happened: I was headed to my Drs office for an appointment; the clinic is a ‘fragrance free’ environment and they’re pretty strict about it, when I go there I don’t put on any perfume just an unscented deodorant.

So I went in for the appointment my Dr started getting upset with me because she was certain I was wearing perfume. I wasn’t, so I was very puzzled, turns out it was the freaking Cherry Blossom hand cream I had put on an hour earlier when I climbed into my car for the drive.

That’s how strong and offensive it is to people around; she could smell it across the room, I was so embarrassed. I threw the tube in the trash after that. The 3 scents I mentioned (Lavender, Shea butter and Almond) are very mellow and not offensive at all.

If you’re sensitive to scents don’t get the Cherry Blossom or the Rose hand creams; they’re very pungent.

I’ve received 3 deluxe samples of this product in GWPs over the last few months. I wanted to love this hand crème because of other products I’ve used from this brand. It does nice on my hands and does create a protective barrier, but I’m constantly having to reapply it to maintain moisture.

It has 20% shea butter, so I figured it would last more than 30 minutes (or one hand-washing session)—it does neither for me. You can see in the photo that my hand is still particularly dry and that was after using this for several days.

I went through all 3 deluxe samples. It retails for $29USD for a 5. 2oz tube, which *is* a fairly large tube. but I’d much rather pay $10 for a 3. 3oz tube for a different brand that creates a moisturizing, protectant barrier that lasts longer, works better for my hands, and have the ability to choose which a scent.

I’d recommend this brand to those who aren’t constantly using their hands. but if your lifestyle causes you to use your hands all the time, I’d suggest giving other brands a try as well.

As we are all aware, we are in the middle of a pandemic, Covid 19 has stuck many families hard. With the constant application of hand sanitizer gels, constant hand washing and general ware and tare, my hands were looking dry and miserable.

I have had eczema my entire life my hands are the worst part of my body for constant dry skin caused by Pompholyx dyshidrotic eczema and easily irritated skin after using soap, water and most other liquids.

I originally bought the Nursem Caring Skin Fix as my hands were left in such a state after moving house and from a flare up of eczema that I wanted to see if it had any immediate effect. I could tell after a day it had made a massive difference to my very dry and cracked skin, using it in targeted areas as it suggested.

As this worked so well I thought I would try the Caring Hand Cream as a daily cream to use before bed. It is excellent usually I have to apply a lot of cream during the day but over the past week I have found my hands to be soft and not requiring much lotion at all.

I cant say for sure how it has helped my Pompholyx as this flares with the weather, stress etc, but the skin on my hands has absolutely loved this stuff and Im really happy with the results. The scent isnt anything special although my other half loves the scent so probably to each their own but it certainly isnt bad and goes away quickly after absorption, and my personal preference is a less artificially fragranced cream anyway to reduce any possible irritation.

I have tried pretty much every hand cream from the stores, emollients, prescription steroids and almost everything else under the sun to improve the skin on my hands over the years and this, for now, seems to be the only thing that is actually helping and I really hope it lasts I also love the fact they give products to nurses and the packaging has a 90s vibe to it which I love and it looks great on my bedside table.

Because of the amazing 5 reviews, I couldnt wait to try this hand cream, and because of the recent pandemic, it was always out of stock. When the Boots restocked, I ordered 4 tubes, two were for me, and the others I gave to friends to try.

What an absoute let down. Upon delivery, the packaging of the handcream looks very cheap and old. The colours are awful and I definitely wouldnt have these on display. The next thing the smell. Oh my goodness, its awful, I dont know what on earth it is but its not natural or pleasant at all.

The top ingredients are mainly alcohol and water and sugar. The cream itself well,this was not what I expected. I used it on my right hand for three weeks, and used my normal hand cream on the left hand.

As soon as I applied it, my hands felt drier than they had ever been. The cream soaked in straight away with no slip, so applied some more because of the dryness, but they still felt dry. For the following three weeks.

I used this regulary throughout the day, every day and night. My right hand looks worse than my left hand, it is wrinkled, dry and parched, and my brown spots have returned. After compating results with my friends, they were also disappoined, and they too disliked the smell, and hated the packaging.

They also tested it on one hand only and the hand with this cream on looked worse. None of us use overly expensive handcream either, I use Neutrogena, my friends use Clarins and Vaseline. We have come to the conclusion that as this cream was created by a nurse and her partner, and every tube that someone buys, a months worth of free Nursem is given to a nurse, the reviews which if you read every one is written by a nurse,so if we continuously buy this cream, they continuously get freebies for a whole month, so no wonder the reviews are glowingIm all for giving freebies to the hard working nurses, but these reviews are not entirely genuine as the cream is way over hyped.

I am a dental nurse and the hand washing pre cover was excessive for obvious reasons, since covid this has increased ten fold. My hands always suffered due to this, particularly in cold weather. Ive tried may different hand creams but even the best didnt quite cut it, my hands as a result were always sore and covered in little welts due to being so dry.

They were so sore one point a few weeks ago that I asked my husband to buy me this handcream as a last resort, I had heard work raving about it after seeing it on dragons den. After using it the first time my hands were instantly soothed and after a few times my hands were relatively back to normal and were almost healed.

The only downside for me is it is pricey as I go through a tube every 3 weeks because again Im constantly washing my hands in work and constantly putting nursem on straight after to prevent my hands getting as bad as they were.

However apart from that I have no other fault to find, it absorbs quickly and is very soothing. In addition it creates what feels like an invisible protective layer over my hands barring them from the elements.

If you love vanilla frosting – like, really love it, can’t get enough of it, wanna dive into a giant bathtub full of it – this is for you. I’m giving this 1 out of 5 stars, which I feel really bad about! I usually LOVE the hand creams Lano makes, but the scent on this one was way too strong for me.

If I was someone who really loved vanilla-scented things, it would probably be my favorite. Unfortunately I’m someone who doesn’t like vanilla, so this was pretty overpowering. However, I’d say a 4 out of 5 stars in terms of hydration delivery, which is what I usually get from the other hand creams, and I’m a big fan of those.

While this hand cream is just as good as other hand creams from Lano, however, thanks to the scent, color, and texture of the lotion, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was literally rubbing vanilla frosting into my hands.

Which was weird. The scent is like the world’s largest vanilla cupcake. It was SO strong. Like, after I put it on, I had to wash my hands before I could eat anything because the scent just overpowered the food.

My boyfriend put it a little more bluntly, he told me: “Uh, you smell like a candle. ” I feel bad that this wasn’t a great product for me because I’ve never had a bad experience with any of your products before! Still love you guys! 💜.

Pros: I love these hand creams. I’ve gotten them in a few scents and I’ve liked all of them, but this one has been my favorite so far. They’re extremely moisturizing, I never feel like I have to constantly reapply like others I’ve tried.

This particular scent is a bit stickier compared to the other ones, but it goes away after a little bit, so I don’t mind. Cons: I HATE the packaging. The top is ridiculously tiny and I really struggle to get that thing on and off quickly and easily.

Anyone with shaky hands or mobility issues are really going to struggle with it. It’s EXPENSIVE, and overpriced in my opinion. Like I said, it’s a great product, but it’s difficult to convince myself to purchase it when a “fancy” hand cream like L’Occitane is like $3 cheaper per oz.

It’s only 1. 69 oz, that’s travel size. I’d rather it be in a larger tube and pay more, but less per oz like most products.

This amount of Vanilla makes me personally happy 😊, but I understand the need for a fragrance-free one. PLEASE KEEP VANILLA AS IS. I adore the smell & the sillage of the cream. Too many so-called scented products disappear their fragrance too quickly so I am grateful this lasts and is detectable.

I do love a good hand lotion! One that doesn’t leave your hands oily, smelly, sticky, slippery, almost as dry as before, or never fully soaks in. Its taken a long time for me to find a lotion that I really liked.

I used to religiously, use the body shops hemp lotion, about 20 years ago. Then I moved on to Lubriderm as it was the only, or almost the only lotion good to use on healing tattoos. *There seemed to be fragrance in every other lotion, which you can use, but it’s not recommended.

And I really dont enjoy eating or drinking things and every time my hand is near my mouth and nose the lotion smell mixes with my food or beverage. Anywho, my diabetic father uses the Gold Bond diabetic lotion, and I tried it one day.

It was a little thick feeling but rubbed in to my hands better than ANY lotion I’ve ever tried. I do have “dryer than I’d like for a female” hands and with only 1 application, my hands were still smooth and soft feeling at bedtime.

Decided to try other GB lotions and settled on their healing one and I freaking love it. No smell of random poison, not oily, and keeps my hands, et al, soft and smooth all day.

I absolutely love this hand cream! I bought it at walmart on a wim last week and so glad I did. I have really dry rough hands and they are always hurt cuz they’re so dry and i wanted a hand lotion that also wasn’t greasy and this one was it.

After applying this on my hands my hands felt so soft, smooth, and hydrated and they just looked better too. The best part is my hands did not feel or look greasy afterwards, for a minute or 2 they felt a bit greasy but that went away right away but the hydration and softness did not.

It also says it lasts thru hand washing which is true. I wah my hands alot and I did not feel like I needed to re-apply after I washed my hands like I normally would. It also has a nice scent, its very light and non irritating but its smells really good.

My man really likes this hand lotion and the light scent as well. I rock climb and had a hands on job and my man does construction so we both have dry rough hands and this worked great for both of us.

I found other good hand lotions before but they usually always left my hands greasy or were exspensive but not this stuff. This stuff is affordable and widely available so will be easy to get more when i run out.

My other hand cream that I love also is really hard to find now so I’m glad I found this. I highly recommend this for anyone with dry rough hands or anyone in need of a good hand lotion even. Gotta try the body lotion version next.

ONE TO TAKE OUT TO TRAVel with too. Refillable would be amazing. I am in love, my hands are in love with this cream! I just bought my Dad for Father’s Day the hand cream and the cleanser. I am trying the body cream first because I’m like “you get those I’m jealous but you’re my Dad so I love you IF I SEE YOU NOT USING THESE I will take them back! They’re too precious to go to waste!!!!” Especially after I dropped my body wash and need a new one 🥲.

Prime example of ‘how to ruin a perfect product by reformulation’ 🤪 Why do you do this, Skinfix, why? For reference, this used to be an amazing hand cream (not just for eczema sufferers!) These tubes used to come with the red seal of ‘allure best of beauty winner’ and were the perfect remedy for dry, overwashed, peeling hands and nails.

Worry not, they ‘fixed’ it. The new formula separates like CRAZY and it’s a big oily mess. Not even had it for a month. Just terrible. HOW ABOUT IF IT AIN’T BROKE, DON’T FIX IT. Oh, I see, you’re swapping out ingredients to lower grade substitutes while keeping the high price tag.

I get stress-related eczema (dryness, rough patches, flaking, irritation, redness, bumps, mild itching) on my hands and am always on the hunt for products to help calm them down and keep them moisturized at the same time.

When I saw this as a sample in the rewards bazaar, I had to grab it. For me it’s a pretty good moisturizer, but not a calming product. It didn’t seem to either help or harm the irritated/itchy/bumpy areas on my hands.

It’s thick and feels a bit gritty compared to my other hand and eczema creams (maybe from the colloidal oatmeal), takes a while to absorb, and has a sort of greasy smell, so it’s not really pleasant to use.

It does last through handwashing, although I feel like I have to use more of it than I do of my other creams. Also, about halfway through the sample, the product began to separate, and the tube started dripping oil when I opened it.

Shaking and massaging the tube helped but didn’t fix the problem. Maybe I just got a bad sample? I’m on the fence about this cream. It seems to be good for cracked, dry hands, but not for itchy, irritated skin, so I’m recommending it but with reservations.

If one of my other go-to hand products gets discontinued, or if I need a backup and my other preferred products are out of stock, I might come back and buy a full size, but probably not otherwise.

My hands are chronically rough to the touch. My palms are always rough and NOTHING would ever get rid of it. I’ve even tried plain Vaseline, and while my hands were very moisturized, my palms were still rough and calloused.

That was when I learned about exfoliating moisturizers, like this Eucerin hand cream. It was exactly what my hands needed! The urea and lactic acid in this product are great humectants and chemical exfoliators.

In just one use, my hands were touchably softer and smoother. With consistent use, my rough palms are 90% better! And a bonus perk, I don’t mind greasy moisturizers, but this is VERY NOT greasy! Not sure what all these other reviewers are talking about.

So for one. I’m a nurse. so what with the hand washing and hand sanitizing a million times a day you can guess my hands get pretty dry! I love some fancy smelling hand creams like the rest of us. but let’s be real a lot of those don’t really do the trick.

I’m also my own worst enemy for not applying creams as often as I should. which results in a dry cracked mess! But I recently discovered this stuff and I’m a fan solely for the benefits of it. I mean there is no smell.

But there is also no greasy or sticky feeling to it which is great! It isn’t super thick, absorbs in nicely and really just hydrates super well! This is going to be great for work and all winter long! And bonus it’s inexpensive!.

So I decided to try this hand cream – partly on a whim but mostly because my hands were getting increasingly dry and really quite sore. I usually use O’Keefe’s hand cream but found that my palms stayed really greasy and there was a film of moisture left on my hands.

In all honesty, I had no real hopes that this cream would make any difference (particularly bearing in mind that I am 54 and have never paid much attention to hand care). My daughter insisted I try it and I am so glad that I did.

I have been using this for the last three weeks and can see a noticeable difference in both the improved moisture levels and the lessening of those hideous crepey wrinkles that had started to appear! Skin care brands in general can be really over the top with what they claim their products are actually capable of but this product is the real deal! I get eczema on my hands and NO other non-prescription cream has helped like this! If the eczema flares badly, I still might have to use the prescription stuff but this hand cream has kept the eczema away like no other hand cream – and I’ve tried many.

Listen. I stupidly cheated on this hand cream. I think maybe I was wooed by the lovely fragrances of other formulations or pretty packaging. ? At any rate, summer hit and I kinda scraped by, though my hands slowly suffered more and more.

“Funny how awful my cuticles look,” I thought to myself. Now, the New England weather has started to cool – and the air in my home has gone bone dry. My fingertips bled, they were so dry and chapped! The itching was awful.

Fine. I caved. I bought myself another tube of this stuff. The itching stopped IMMEDIATELY. Less than 12 hours later, my skin felt smoother and happier, not just lubricated on a surface level. Less than 24 hours later, it’s like I have new hands.

I recently purchased the other hand balm which is sort of like a dusty earthy geranium perpetually scent. I thought I was purchasing this item. My initial purchase fails in comparison to this one… It’s also earthy however more sandalwood that is grounding, complimenting the refreshing citrus so it’s comforting yet revitalising at the same time and it just goes on beautifully, runs in well and it’s just a great to practice self-care.

The smell is just so soothing it makes mindfulness less of a challenge and more or an indulgence. The texture is thick and luscious. The price point is too high So I could only ever be a treat purchase.

This hand cream has been glorified for years and I finally decided to try it now that my hands have been extremely dry. It must be the hand soap and hand sanitizer causing my hands to look this ashy but I’ve never dealt with such dryness before so I was looking for something heavy duty.

This cream is more of a gel when it comes out but once you start rubbing, it turns into a cream which is pretty cool. The cream is sticky for a few but it goes away and leaves your hands feeling fine.

Another thing I’d like to point out is that I ended up cutting the tube in half after it was “done” just to find SO much product in there and since a little goes a long way, I have been taking advantage of all the product I nearly threw away for months.

I can’t give it 5 stars though and that’s because although it’ll make the dryness look go away while you’re wearing it and rub it in really well, it doesn’t really heal my skin. I only see the effects while using it, it doesn’t keep you nourished enough to show long term benefits.

The Neutrogena Hand cream is truly a great product. Having a newborn i am constantly washing my hands and was struggling with not being able to really get them moisturised. However this formula really felt like it penetrated into the skin and gave me a long lasting feeling of moisture.

The formula is thick but absorbs well into the skin and even after washing my hands, they don’t feel excessively dry. Only a little is needed so product will last a long time. Only improvement i would make is to have a flip lid rather than a screw cap as this required more effort.

Otherwise it’s a Great size and great product overall. Would definitely recommend.

This is the best lotion I have ever used. I have had eczema on my hands for years and during the winter it would get so painful, but there was nothing that worked, even after going to the dermatologist.

Regular Aveeno worked okay, but when I saw their eczema lotion I gave it a try. And I am SOOOO glad I did. I put it on at night and the next morning my hands look and feel so much better. This stuff not only moisturizes, but it really does HEAL your skin.

I don’t think this product particularly helps with eczema; I have a single spot of it on my calf that’s intensely itchy and uncomfortable and this lotion only provides momentary relief before the itch is back.

That said, I still think it’s a 4-star product simply because it’s great as a body lotion, eczema or not. It’s hydrating, soothing, and relieves regular dry, itchy skin, especially in the winter months.

It’s also a skin protectant and leaves a thin unnoticeable barrier over the skin, which will protect it from fingernails if you decide to scratch at any itchiness or dry spots. I don’t necessarily recommend it as an eczema product, but I do recommend it as a regular body lotion.

Miracle worker! Bought this for my son and husband that have severe eczema. I wish it came in a larger container TBH cuz I am going through a lot of plastic with them each going through a tube a week.

Their hands got especially irritated from all the sanitizer with the pandemic. It has been the only lotion they have ever used where if applied daily makes a huge difference in softness, repair, and itching/burning.
