20 Best Hair Ties For Dreadlocks (2023 Updated)

On November 20th, I purchased a Grab & Go Ponytail Holders – Set of Eight and ever since have not looked back. Gratefully, this product changed my life. My favorite hair product i have ever purchased.

It holds my hair like no other. and it is stylish with my bracelets. This product also does not squeeze my wrist and does not leave a mark. The fact that this product creates a stylish and workable way to keep my hair out of my face is the biggest benefit.

The color options are out of this world and match my hair. I will never not recommend this product to a friend. I’ve taken the initiative to make sure all my friends have these hair ties. One thing is, is that the color selection isn’t very wide.

while you have a ton of colors the sets come in sort of a mismatch way. Again! Thank you for creating this product. While playing sports, working out, and just hanging around the house these hair ties have never slipped out of my hair or given me a headache.

I received one of these hair ties as a free gift in a Anastasia gift set and immediately went to search them out to buy. I workout daily and constantly throw my hair in a ponytail or a bun. I never really thought much about the quality of my hair tie until I tried one of these.

They don’t tug or pullout the hair as much as the standard ones and are very comfortable to wear. I’ve noticed less hair fallout after using these hair ties. They are also very pretty and come in a variety of colors.

I now carry these all the time in my purse, my makeup bag and my car so I always have one handy. Will definitely buy more colors.

I’m a girl with LOT’S of thick curly unruly hair. With normal ponytail holders, I have to use at least 3 ponytails to keep my hair up during an easy and basic workout. I’m a rower and row 4 days a week, for 2-3 hours each day, and I constantly have to redo my hair.

I recently purchased these, ad let me tell you they changed the game. I now only need one ponytail holder, and my ponytail stays in the whole time. I just ordered 3 more packs and I suggest you get these if you were thinking about it.

These are great! I have shoulder length, thick hair (hair so thick, it tends to break all hair ties) and these are great! They offer the perfect amount of stretch but still hold on securely when tied in hair.

I have one in right now, I have it looped three times, and my hair is staying in place and does not move or fall out. The coils do stretch out, but I have never had a problem with this, they fit perfectly on the wrist when not in use, and if you do want to shrink them back to their original size, pop them into a cup of boiling water.

I believe these are more reliable for thick hair then the Goody or whatever other brand of hair ties, as they are harder to break (and I mean, I have stretched them out beyond all belief and they have lasted forever).

I have had them for months, and I have only used two, because like I said, they do not break and they are very reliable. The best part? I can wear these in a tight ponytail, take it out and there is no crease/wave/bend in my hair from it at all.

I can straighten my hair and then put it up for a while, and take it out and still have completely stick straight hair still. It has saved me a lot of unneeded heat and potential damage to my hair from not needed to straighten it again.

I was HIGHLY skeptical of these but gave them a shot. There is a SLIGHT (really very minimal) learning curve/adjustment to getting used to these over usually hair ties. My hair is long (past my chest), and there is a lot of it (anyone thats ever cut my hair comments “oh wow you have a lot of hair”).

I usually use 2 hair ties at the same time to put my hair in a high pony. TWO hair ties to gives the pony tail more OOMPH so its not flat, and they also hold my long thick hair securely in place better.

If its up longer than a few minutes then thats all I can do with it until I was it again because it will be creased. Also, by the end of the day my scalp will be at least a little sore from the tightness.

THESE SOLVE ALL OF THOSE ISSUES!!!!!!!! WITHOUT making my head hurt, or pulling my eyebrows back bc my hair is so tight lol I really am impressed when I was expecting that I would be absolutely unimpressed.

Bye bye, ponytail headaches! Hello ALL day hold! My high pony stays there all day, no redoes! It’s just the BOOST my hair needed. Also, Thick kept my stray messy baby hairs in high pony for work, over 6 hours till bed, I couldn’t believe that.

I LOVE the softness of GIMME Thick hair bands! It slips out of my hair like silk, no more hair tears or ripping! I bought Thick and Long version(for buns) and already have more FUN COLORS in my GIMME cart, and getting my daughter(so much hair!) both, she needs them! Too many positives to mention, and I cannot find any negatives.

Buying more, telling everyone I see with long or thick hair. One college student told me she wished she had these when in high school cheer.

I was hopeful that this thick fit hair tie would be just what I need. But sadly, the product is a no for me. I have thick hair, and could barely wrap the hair tie around my pony tail two times. A bun is not even possible.

I think there isn’t enough stretch perhaps. The worst part is that when I reached out to customer service to try a different style, over 5 business days went by and I haven’t heard back. I did get an email to review the product so that’s why I’m leaving this review.

I am new to long hair, having decided to go for ponytail length as part of my life journey only within the last 3 years. That whole time I had been using my wife’s ponytail ties which were boring black stretchy things.

So, I was delighted then, to recently discover the manly selection of hair ties at The Longhairs. I settled on “The Viking” style ties, in order to honor my ancestors and because they looked sweet. Immediately upon use, I could smell the mists of the ocean, feel sea spray battering my face, and I swear I heard the melodious chants of men rowing longboats.

The effect was pervasive. I spent a full day trying to convince my wife that we should build a longhouse, along with presenting a compelling argument as to the benefits of thatched roofs. A week into wearing my awesome Viking ties, I found myself writing using runes while furiously composing a breathtaking saga about my awesome Viking ties and how they complement my long hair and savage nordic beard.

It was almost as though the ties echoed an ancient life force, strong enough to bend time inserting me into my natural, historic, environment. So, yes, would definitely buy again.

Along with being the coolest hair ties on the planet, they are also incredibly durable. I just bought The Vikings pack because of how awesome they look with the sacred geometric patterns, not because my old ones were worn out.

For anyone that is on the fence about purchasing these, you’re either a short hair and don’t need them, or you don’t mind spending you’re hard earned money on low quality hair ties that will break or you’ll lose immediately.

Amazing hair ties. I have extremely thick hair and these normal ones (not the xl ties) are really good. (The xl are good too. I meant that I don’t have them) They are really pricy and could be a lot lower but they’re really good and durable so they’re worth it.

I play sports and indoor percussion so I need my hair to hold place. These hold the hair better than normal hair ties. They are much more durable and a lot harder to lose so even though these are expensive you probably go threw like 2 – 3 packs a year (if you distribute the them).

Maybe less packs I’m not sure. This design is cool though. The designs don’t really matter that much but I listen to metal and play guitar and drums so it’s pretty cool.

When I bought these hair ties I was super pumped. I had seen the videos on YouTube, and I’ve been following the Longhairs for a while, so I was super excited to purchase some hair ties for guys. The hair ties themselves are great, I love the material, they look beast, and they do what they are supposed to.

However, I have run into 3 separate issues which I will discuss in order of severity from least to greatest. The first issue was one of the hair ties broke, after having been used less than 20 times.

This wasn’t very major because it was one of the hair ties that I liked the design less than the others, but disappointing nontheless. The second issue I ran into was with different sizes. In addition to the metal head pack, I also bought one of the straight up black hair tie packs.

Two of the hair ties in that pack were significantly larger than the other two. This in itself is not a huge problem, but it’s a little odd for brand new hair ties to be so irregular. Now I come to the biggest issue for me and that is the size of the hair ties themselves.

My hair is extremely thick. For me, my ponytail has a diameter of an inch and a half. The hair ties for guys only stretch large enough to get two loops around my hair, but not large enough for three.

This is a problem because the hair ties will not securely hold all of my hair. When I put my hair in a half Up Style, the hair ties are great and can hold my hair securely in that style but they are not able to hold all of my hair in one ponytail.

In conclusion, I like the idea of these hair ties for guys, but I would like to see a thick hair version of the product.

I really love these hair ties! I have only had them a few weeks, but so far they have been great. It goes without saying that they are awesome designs, but the also function great as well. They seem to be more durable than your plain ol’ hair tie and pull out less hair as well.

When they’re stretched out, the color fades a bit, so I hope they don’t become significantly less vibrant over time. For the price and the variety of styles, I highly recommend.

Been using these ties as incentives for my friends to grow out their hair. It usually works like this Joe: hey those hair ties are pretty cool Me: yeah they’re for guys. Hair ties for guys! Joe: oh that’s cool if you have long hair Me: how about I give you one of mine and you can grow into it Joe: wait really? You really think I can grow my hair out? Me: of course! There is a community here at the long hairs that is ready to support you through the awkward phase.

Up until now I’ve just been using my wife’s drug store hair ties. How very un-dude. and I would always lose them and they pulled and didn’t do a great job of holding my medium length hair back, because the front always fell out.

These seem to do a better job holding on to that hair that is only under the tie a small amount. This may not be a concern for experienced Longhairs, but for late-awkward-stagers it is a perceived benefit.

Additionally, perhaps due to their wider shape, I don’t tend to lose or put these ties down, never to be seen again. I still have the first one I pulled out of the pack around my wrist. Great product, great company.

Small durable and stylish These things are amazing. I’ve had my set for over 2 years now and the only reason I need more is losing them or having the borrowed and not returned due to being so great. The are long lasting and never get flimsy or worn out.

Even with wet hair. The look great and match everything I wear. And they are cut perfectly to fit my wrist.

Great job Longhairs!! I was a first time customer and went crazy bought many of the head wraps and ties! Absolutely love them all. The fit and comfort of them is worth every penny. I have had long hair now for many years and using your products makes control and style of having long hair that much sweeter!! Ever wish you could get Hair Ties for Guys in a vanilla yet classy flavor? Here’s your chance! It’s classier and edgier than the black ties, but it’s still vanilla. A true hit in my opinion.

The colors are cute and I like the idea. However they stretch out so fast. Yes they tell you to put it in hot water to shrink it back, but it stretches right back out as soon as you use it again. One wear and it and it was virtually useless, I had to put it on so tight to make it stay.

I found it did still leave indent in my hair but, I wasn’t worried about that anyway. The headband was decent, took longer to stretch and stayed pretty well in place until it stretched. Can’t return them because I had to remove the packaging to try them, but at least they weren’t ridiculously expensive.

I won’t be buying again.
