20 Best Hair Shampoo For Growth (2023 Updated)

I feel like I must be using a completely different product from others. I actually bought the shampoo and conditioner because I thought they smelled so fantastic. I have fine, but dense, wavy hair that is about bra strap length.

I only wash my hair once a week because is isn’t particularly oily, but due to the length and fine strands, heavy products can weigh it down. My hair is incredibly prone to tangles. I bought the shampoo formulated for fine hair because I figured the strand thickness was more important than the density and texture.

Boy, was I wrong! I have noticed “volumizing” shampoos and conditioners in the past have caused my hair to be extra dry and tangly, but this isn’t listed as a volumizing shampoo. The shampoo leaves my hair incredibly tangled, even with the gentlest sudsing and scalp massage.

And it takes nearly 1/4 bottle of the conditioner to even come close to detangling the mess the shampoo has made. Even then, I feel like I’m literally ripping my hair out to get all the tangles and knots out, and my hair is still really dry.

Maybe I should have tried the shampoo/conditioner for medium hair, but I know these particular products were a complete waste and totally useless. I haven’t been impressed with the curl cream, wave spray, air dry foam, and especially not the rose hair oil, either.

The products smell fantastic, but they just don’t work for my hair.

I had high hopes for this shampoo because my hair is so broken and fragile but his was a huge dissapointment. It does smell nice but it does not work with my hair at all. To start, I have oily hair and this shampoo makes that way worse.

I think it also caused acne breakouts. This was the only change in my routine and I was getting way more breakouts than usual and the same thing happened to my daughter. She wanted to try my shampoo and her face started getting acne around the hairline and she is only 8.

I mentioned that it makes my hair oily but at the same time the lengths and ends of my hair feel dried out and frizzy. I will not buy this again.

I have always hated my hair. It’s fine, oily, breaks easily and has no volume. I have wasted a lot of money over the years trying to find a hair care line that worked with my hair. I actually used this product at a family members house when I forgot to pack my own.

First off the apple smell is so crisp and fresh, not artificial at all. The lather is really nice, hardly needed any product. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to comb through my wet hair. After I blow dried my hair it was so clean, soft and had tons of volume! Best hair day I’ve had in a long time! I was hooked after that.

Bought two of the huge bottles and my hair keeps getting better and better with each use. I pair it with the Marc Anthony Grow Long leave in conditioner and my hair is growing faster and stronger than ever! I have bought back stock of these products in fear they will discontinue it! Please please please kept this product in you line! I don’t want to start the hunt all over again!.

I love this shampoo and conditioner and so does my hair. It’s gives me my dream hair every time I wash and condition. My waves come through and they’re shiny, clean, soft, and smelling fresh for about 2 to 3+ days until I need to wash my hair again.

I love smelling my hair and feeling how soft it is. The scent is perfect and not overwhelming. My hair feels stronger and my hairbrush glides through my hair. I definitely recommend this product and the conditioner.

The Davines conditioners last FOREVER. I use conditioner every day and you really only need a tiny but to get your hair conditioned. The shampoo goes a little bit quicker, but still lasts quite awhile.

I just received my WOW hair products, and after first use I’m thrilled with the results. I purchased the Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner, 10 in 1Hair Oil, Hair Revitalizer, Mask, and detangling brush.

I’m 74 and just beginning to grey, leaving roots frizzy and dry. I don’t know my hair anymore. I’ve colored throughout my life and now want my hair to age gracefully. I’m also a believer you never have a second chance to make a good impression.

My hair my whole life 59 yrs has been a hate hate relationship. Super Curly, Dry, no shine whatsoever. Frizzy ,breaking and in my 50s curls were less and hair falling out in gobs. Years ago, Vidal Sassoon had a shampoo and conditioner my hair just loved. Every time I used it, my hair was nourished, soft, and moisturized. Unfortunately, Sasson sold his product line to one company and then another before his product line disappeared altogether from supermarket and drugstore shelves.

This was in the early 80s and I’ve been on the search for a similar product ever since. And believe me, I’ve used quite a variety, including Mane & Tail, Aussi, as well as Paul Mitchell and other salon brands.

I recently told my beautician about my dilemma, especially after ordering a Sassoon shampoo from Amazon. She quipped the product I used all those years ago was long gone. Since Sassoon’s line was sold to two different companies, the product since has been reformulated and that would include the online products bearing his name.

This would explain the online shampoo not being the same I remembered. Besides, she added, my hair isn’t the same as it was back then, so that’s another factor to consider. So, I resigned myself to never finding a similar product until I took a chance to try something new–Shea Moisture Black Jamaican Castor Oil shampoo and its conditioner counterpart.

After using the shampoo and conditioner, my hair was unbelievably soft and moisturized. It was as if I’d stepped back in time after discovering that perfect product for my hair. Please forgive the length of this review, but I just had to tell you how happy I am to finally find what I’ve been looking for after all this time.

I was in the process of growing my hair out after a hideous hair cut when I started using this shampoo & conditioner combo. I loved the ingredients and have heard and read all the great benefits of castor oil for scalp & hair.

I started using this combo in February of 2022. Straight away I noticed my hair softer & shinier so I kept using both shampoo & conditioner. I have naturally curly hair so I only wash twice a week, sometimes 3 depending on the condition of my scalp.

I started to notice after the first month of use, CLUMPS of hair falling out every time I’d wash my hair. At first I thought to myself ‘this is normal shedding because I’m using natural products’ which makes absolutely NO SENSE! I decided to switch up shampoo/conditioner & used a diff brand.

Since I stopped using the Shea Moisture Jamaican Castor Oil shampoo & conditioner, I have waayyyyy less hair loss when I wash my hair. My roommate didn’t want me throwing the bottles away so she started using the Shea Moisture Jamaican Castor Oil shampoo/conditioner and to her surprise she too complained of hair loss! I don’t know if the ingredients in the shampoo or conditioner were rancid but I will never purchase another Shea Moisture product again after that experience.

I believe the ingredients have changed since the birth of this shampoo & conditioner set. Either way it was a major fail for me.

Took a bit of a gamble ordering this shampoo (and matching conditioner). But I’m glad I did! I started growing out my hair last year, and had spent my entire life not taking care of my hair like at all.

I had to use my husbands shower as my wet room was having new rails added, so a normal shower with a foldable stool in it for me, for me anything with keratin in it my hair loves and I saw this latest one and had to give it a try.

It was freak for my hair my hair soaked it up, I tend to try and alternate different makes as it what suits me. Lush and bubbly, felt thick and creamy to use, as with all new types of shampoo I tend to use too much and I always leave it 9n longer.

When I washed it off before the conditioner my hair felt nice not dry or tough, so far so good. The only downside for me is the bottles are so big and heavy it really makes it hard for me to get the product out!!! As its too tough for me to hold and squeeze it out so once I’ve used a new one a couple of times and I know that it’s going to be q keeper, my husband transfers some into a smaller travel size bottle so I can actually lift it and squeeze it out.

A great shampoo and as always a great price marked it down 1 as due to me nor being able to lift and squeeze it.

I love this shampoo and conditioner. I just ordered another set. I can’t believe how inexpensive it is. My hair stylist keeps trying to sell me the products she has and recommends but I am very happy with these Tresemme products.

When I first bought this shampoo/conditioner combo, I also purchased a Matrix Biolage shampoo/conditioner combo that was the same size but was triple the price. I used both for months. I honestly couldn’t tell any difference in my hair using either.

They both smell good and make my hair look great. I have also used many other designer brands as well as more expensive drug store brands. I will continue to use the Tressemme.

I recently put an Aquabliss shower filter in my shower and the results are magnified 10x, it’s such a good shampoo. Worth every penny. Some of those shampoos definitely have their merits, however none have compared to Oribe in terms of manageability, shine, softness and keeping my hair feeling clean for way longer. It doesn’t strip my hair, and it’s the first shampoo I’ve used where I can actually pass a brush through my hair without a tangle.

The amount of money I’ve spent on shampoos, this one is actually worth the investment for your hair.

This review is for the Gold Lust shampoo and conditioner. I bought this product with my own money. I don’t get paid to write reviews, nor have I ever gotten free products to review. I loved this shampoo and conditioner, and I’ll write my thoughts below.

My hair is waist-length and wavy. There’s lots of it, with fine-medium strands. I have concerns with frizz and dryness at the ends. I look for a product that makes my hair smooth, shiny, soft, and moisturized.

The holy grail, of course! I’ve seen a couple reviews that say the shampoo feels clarifying/stripping, so when I used it, I tried to get a feel for whether that was the case. Personally, it was not stripping for me.

To the best of my knowledge, the surfactants in this shampoo are mild. I did notice that my hair feels somewhat squeaky clean after rinsing it out, but this isn’t necessarily a determinant of whether or not a shampoo is stripping.

I’ve used highly drying clarifying shampoos that didn’t make my hair feel squeaky clean after rinsing. The conditioner doesn’t seem *that* moisturizing on wet hair. It gives slip, but in the shower I didn’t get the sense that it was heavily moisturizing and I worried I feel for mere hype/prestige.

The key word is “seem” however, because it actually performs amazingly. RESULTS The results were fantastic though. After the first time using this, as my hair started drying, it had this wonderful smoothness and softness, and it felt supple—moisturized and with a nice “plumpness” and elasticity.

I cannot get over how soft this made my hair! My waves can sometimes like stringy and “matte”, this made my hair flow gorgeously, my waves were beautifully soft and defined, my hair was shiny and overall the best it has looked this entire year.

I wanted to use it again before writing a review. My hair is currently drying, and again it feels wonderful. Clean and healthy, with bounce, shine, and extreme softness. This may be the best haircare I’ve ever tried.

Before I share my thoughts on this product here is some background info: I have very fine thin hair that does not like to hold any kind of style for more than an hour. I typically use Pantene’s Sheer Volume Shampoo and conditioner for my hair and it has been doing the job.

Pantene has stopped making this exact kind and I have started trying different products to see what would work best for my hair. I received a sample size of this shampoo and conditioner with a big purchase of other hair care products.

It looks really pretty coming out and smells amazing. It lathers up very nicely as well. The whole time I was working it into my hair I couldn’t stop thinking of where I had smelled this before and then it hit me.

This shampoo and conditioner smells very similar to the Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Italian Zest perfume which smells lemony and gives off a limoncello vibe which is a huge plus to me. Another pro of this shampoo and conditioner is that it is very light weight and doesn’t weigh down my hair which for someone like me is very important.

Both rinse off well and don’t seem to leave any behind in my hair. Brushing my hair out afterwards was nice and easy. I would probably use this again but not consistently.

I was recently given the chance to review a few hair care products as part of the Biolage #Voxbox. In the box I received a shampoo, conditioning treatment and a leave in conditioner. For reference I have red/auburn curly hair, which has been coloured.

It is quite thin but I have a lot of it. I would consider my hair to be healthy but quite naturally corse in texture. Upon first impressions the packaging of the products is really pretty, would look lovely in the bathroom and definitely not out of place in a salon.

The scent of the shampoo is more natural smelling than many of the products than I usually go for by brands such as Maui Moisture etc. , more reminiscent of the Body Shop hair care. It is pleasant, but not my favourite kind of scent, I prefer a more “perfumey” scent.

The texture of the product is nice, an average consistency which lathered nicely and left my hair feeling very clean. Usually when choosing hair products I look for those which do not contain sulphates as I have curly hair which tends to be more dry naturally, and sulphates can be quite stripping.

However I was pleasantly surprised that my hair didn’t feel dry after using this product, although I cannot say whether it would dry my hair more in the long run as I have only used it a few times so far.

I will update in the future, however I think I will use this product in conjunction with my usual shampoos as this one definitely left my hair feeling more clean and removed my styling product build up easily; but as I mentioned before I don’t like to use sulphates too often.

Due to the way my hair has been coloured (lightened) I cannot attest to the ability of the shampoo to help retain colour. Overall I think the shampoo is a nice product, which I will continue to use. Whether I will repurchase or not will depend on whether I find it to be drying in the long run as I am a little weary of the ingredients, hence why I have only given it 4 stars.

I just purchased my second set of shampoo. When I used it first I was very much satisfied. I used to get very dryness whenever I used other shampoo however, when I used WOW red onion black seed shampoo my hairs were smooth and on top of that the WOW black seed oil did the remaining job.

My overall experience is that if you are facing hair fall issue and dryness problems just go for the WOW complete hair cair products. They are just amazing. Thanks WOW.
