20 Best Hair Serum For Men (2023 Updated)

I’m generally pretty leary of serum type products because my hair is fairly fine/thin and products like this usually weigh it down and make it look like I need to wash my hair again. I was really nervous because it’s a bit thicker than other serum products I’ve used before that were too heavy, but somehow it doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it greasy.

It smooths the cuticle and makes it so silky. i thought it was only for blow-drying, but I applied it and let my naturally medium/fine, wavy hair air dry and it actually looked good! Normally, letting my hair air dry with my natural wave is NOT cute.

It’s just puffy and frizzy. This gives my waves defined shape and holds even when I brush thru it. I applied it lightly over my roots as well as I used it more often and it STILL didn’t grease my hair up, it’s crazy!! Wonderful all around smoothing product to use before blow-drying OR air-drying.

I’ve been so impressed with Paul Mitchell’s products. Oh, be SURE to use a clarifying shampoo (I use The Shampoo 2) periodically as the silicones will build up and can cause breakage/fallout if not cleaned off and conditioned.

This serum is hands down the best hair product I’ve used. My hair doesn’t normally give a reaction to products like serums, oils or masks so I stopped purchasing them after a while. But my friend who had just graduated from cosmetology school recommended this serum so I thought I’d give it a shot since she had some knowledge in products that work.

Taking her recommendation is the best decision I could have made for my hair. I’m not sure what it is about this serum but my hair loves this stuff. It’s like a complete hair problem-fixer. It combats my frizz, adds shine, leaves my hair soft, and smells amazing.

It fixed problems I didn’t even realize I had. I get compliments on my hair on a daily basis now because of how beautiful it leaves my hair. It might be a bit intimidating for those who don’t like using oily products but this doesn’t leave any kind of oil residue so that’s another plus.

This is a hair miracle in a bottle and now I put everyone on this stuff. If your contemplating on purchasing this serum, GET IT!.

My sister turned me on to this company. First she got me hooked on the shampoo and conditioner (in the purple bottles) and then this stuff! I have wavy/curly hair and originally was told to try the famous air dry cream by this brand- so I did.

I also straighten my hair from time to time and my sister recommended this if I’m treating my hair with a hot iron. Back to back (comparison of the air dry cream), this out performed in every way! My curls are, well, CURLIER with soft ringlet curls (that hold) and my straight hair is so insanely soft (before using my straightening iron) both curly and straight.

I know this product is not advertised for a curl enhancer, but it works better for me than the air dry cream. Never, NEVER have I been able to find the right product to do so BOTH jobs for my hair- and now I have.

I am a, “no fuss, no muss” kind of person and too many products just clutter my spaces- this baby does it all! *I’m not crazy about the strong perfume smell this product has but I am very pleased with the results and the aroma dissipates after about 30 minutes.

I apply after towel drying and let the curls begin. Or conversely, I apply after towel drying, brush through (as recommended) and then blow dry and iron straight. I also use infrared technology straightener and this product does not leave residue in my expensive iron! A little goes a long way.

Too much gunks up the texture of my hair and feels like I have not rinsed out all my conditioner- so try less before more. Now I apply the Complete Recovery Serum like a pro.

I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. I had never heard of or tried the JVN brand before receiving this product, but it’s my new favorite and I’m a JVN convert. I can’t wait to try their other products.

This serum has helped with my frizz and leaves my hair smooth and shiny, and I love how soft my hair feels when using this even after I style with hot tools. When I’ve used other heat protectants, my hair feels weighed down and sort of greasy, but this leaves my hair soft, smooth, and with minimal frizz.

It did leave my hair feeling less damaged and with less breakage when I used this before styling with heat. I love that JVN uses clean ingredients and I’ve never tried a product with lemon protein before, but I’m a fan.

When I was a little girl, my mother would use lemon juice in my hair on my school picture days to help set it and have it not be frizzy since she didn’t want to use any chemicals in my hair, so I love seeing charged lemon protein as an ingredient on this product.

I highly recommend giving this product and this brand a try! It’s now a part of my haircare routine, and the products are reasonably priced. I used to spend upwards of $50 on heat protectants and don’t even ask how much I used to spend on hair serums, but this product is only $28 and works better than other serums and heat protectants I’ve tried.

i have never had anything truly work for my fine,thin hair but half a bottle in and i had baby’ hair growing, less hair breakage and my hair texture just felt better! The texture of the serum is water-like which i was very surprised with but came to prefer over heavier serums.

Previously i would apply it maybe once or twice and month and that obviously didn’t work, it does say apply twice a day which i dont, instead i apply it the afternoon and either night or morning before washing my hair which also works fine for me.

you do need to be consistent with ur application to see really good results. overall, this is probably the best u thing u can do for ur hair!!.

I purchased one bottle of this product and I can say it has helped me a little bit. I struggle with hair loss in a lot of dandruff what does product help me get rid of both of those things. are used it twice a day every day, it lasted for about a month or a little bit over a month.

my hair is very oily so it tends to get greasy very quickly however using this product help me maintain it let it get too oily. My hair did grow a little bit it was about neck length now it is midback length.

i do recommend this product for anyone struggling with hair growth and scalp issues.

Just recently finished my bottle of beard wash which was the old formula in the big brown bottle. I had already ordered new bottle before I ran out which was the new formula in the smaller dark blue bottle with new label.

I was caught off guard on 1st use of new bottle because what came out looked to me like brown gel. I didnt think anything of it because I knew of the wash having new formula but when scrubbing into beard.

to be VERY honest the smell right out of the bottle is Horrible! The bad smell kind of goes away after lathering up. I don’t know if maybe I received a bad bottle or not. Considering buying another to be sure or trying the Porter House fragrance.

I really like Scotch Porter, the beard balm and serum have been AMAZING but may I have to consider a different beard wash.

I’d thought for years that I had to use a dandruff shampoo on my beard. That, however, was wrong. What was truly required was the Scotch Porter system. Before, I would try a dandruff shampoo, then a conditioning shampoo as the “repeat”.

Or vice-versa. Or alternating types on alternating days. Many, many, many different brands. Nothing ever worked, either to keep my face from itching or to make my beard soft enough that it wouldn’t scrape skin off my wife’s face when we kissed.

Seriously: boar bristles. Now, though, using your shampoo, then the Beard Conditioner and the Beard Balm, my face-fuzz is soft and springy, and my wife’s lips are safe from damage!.

I’ve already started using Veta Targeted Topical Therapy for Men for a little over a month now and have seen more progress than I did when I had been using Minoxidil for over a year! I recently had switched off from using Minoxidil a couple months ago as I started to experience an adverse reaction on my scalp.

One of the downsides with using Minoxidil-based hair regrowth treatments is the continual use is required in order to achieve and maintain the regrowth effects. Unfortunately after stopping I started noticing shedding and started looking at alternatives that were eqivalent if not better than Minoxidil topical treatments.

Honestly after using it now for over the past month I wish I would’ve found this sooner and started with Veta. I haven’t seen results this impressive as I’ve seen in just the short amount of time I’ve been using it.

I’ll definitely be ordering more as I’m already almost about to start on my second bottle. Let’s start with the point that I am not very consistent and use the Veta a lot only once a day. I try to remember and use it twice daily. With that said, I have not been on it very long, but in the time I have been using it, I love it! It’s very easy to use and not oily at all! It makes my hair so much healthier and apparently it’s doing wonders for my scalp because before I started using it I had a lot of dandruff and that has since subsided.

As for new hair growth, I am not sure yet as I haven’t been using it very long. However, I can tell that my part and crown seem to already look Fuller. I would honestly never write a great review if I didn’t think the product was worth it.

I will definitely continue to use Veta Topical Therapy and will definitely be reordering it. The bottle should last quite awhile as it does not take a lot to cover a wide are of the scalp. Also, I wanted a topical with no side effects like Minoxidil has.

I researched the ingredients and they are all quite beneficial to your hair and scalp. Absolutely recommend!!!!!.

I will give a detailed review for having used it for six weeks so far: 1. I am over 50 and my front hairline has thinned. Of course, as has my entire head somewhat, but I believe hairline edges are what is troubling me and becoming obvious.

2. I have fine hair. 3. I color my hair blonde. I used this serum religiously twice a day as indicated on the affected areas. I also ordered the shampoo but I only shampoo 1 to 2x a week, so I didn’t expect any results from it, but thought it would be good for my scalp to be cleansed with it.

The shampoo is okay, not bad as shampoo goes, but not for my dry, fine, and colored hair. it left it soft but a bit limp. So I stopped using it and went back to my Kerastasse shampoos. The serum, as a formulation, is very nice-doesn’t smell, is not sticky, and doesn’t weigh down the hair at all.

I stopped using it for a week because I was having some light headedness which may or may not be related to using it? I have now resumed using it, but only once a day, because of the health issue I am having, and will write a review update after another couple of months.

The conclusion to date: a tiny bit of fuzzy baby hairs on one side’s edge (the bigger edge), which seemed to disappear after I went in for another hair coloring, but now seem to be there again two weeks later.

The results are definitely not impressive. The rest of the hairline where the hair has thinned has absolutely no thickness or growth to it. I had high hopes because of the natural ingredients coupled with the copper peptides, and will continue (only once a day) as someone on Facebook encouraged me to, but I don’t expect much.

Perhaps post menopausal hair thinning is a different problem than hair thinning in younger women?.

I’ve been fighting winter hair frizz and have been looking for something perfect. I really wanted to love this but it’s not quite there. It’s not sticky, which is great, and it doesn’t make my hair look plastered to my head, which is also great, but on the other hand it doesn’t really seem to do much at all.

It doesn’t even seem to give a bit of shine or leave scent on the hair, so after applying I really feel like I haven’t done anything at all? Maybe it would work for other hair types but it seems to have no effect on mine whatsoever.

I tried this having high hopes as I really like Aesop products. The smell was lovely but the product itself didn’t really do much. It wasn’t sticky or weighed down my hair but my hair also didn’t feel less frizzy or anything like that.

Disappointed that it didn’t do anything other than smell nice.

I have really damaged ends, I do hair masks once in a while but it doesn’t really fix my ends, especially since I’ve done multiple straight perms (and am extremely due for one). I do feel like the serum hydrates and fixes my ends but just a bit, but I can’t really tell since I feel it would be better for my hair if I just chopped if off :(, but it smells really good and has a pretty good value for the amount you’re getting.

P. s. I would also recommend the Gisou honey hair oil but it is a but pricey so.

It is definitely working. I noticed improvements after I completed the first package. My hair fuller and my baby hair gets longer which I’m so happy to see. The only downsides are irritation in my scalp although I’m using %2 ketoconazole shampoo.

Also, when it used 2 times a day you will experience abnormal hair growth on the body. You will need to wash your hair more because of the residue on the hair. Finally you need to stick with it and you can’t discontinued otherwise you will lose what you gain.

However seeing my hair back, thicker, longer make me ignore the cons and hopefully the company works to improve the product and minimize the side effects.

So this product does work! I suffer with female pattern hairloss and have cried SO many tears about my hair and how bad it looks. I talked to my doctor about it and they ran some tests and my hormones were out of whack, so he prescribed me Spironolactone and he also said to try rogaine.

After some research those two things were my best bet in growing my hair. The first pic was sometime in December and I started rogaine around March. The second picture is today! I still have a way to go, but it’s a process.

It takes a long time to see any progress but be consistent and it will pay off!.

I am a woman and decided to go with the men’s extra strength liquid version instead of the women’s. I haven’t even completed the first bottle but I’m already seeing results after about 3 weeks of use.

I suffered from traction alopecia and this was my last resort before deciding to just get a hair transplant. Ive been using it in conjunction with peppermint castor oil. I know it’s not the castor oil alone because I have been through several bottles of castor oil prior to purchasing Rogaine and I didnt get these type of results.

It’s a super lightweight hair serum that absorbs nicely without leaving my hair greasy or heavy. Which is had to find in a leave in treatment! I have naturally thick hair so I can’t say whether it has thickened my hair or not, but it has definitely improved the health of my hair.

My ends tend to get dry fast and this product has been helping! It’s also lightweight enough that I can reapply throughout the day of my hair is feeling particularly dry. It’s best applied while your hair is wet so it can really soak in the formula.

I’d recommend this product.

Although, it is runny with the dropper. I have had moderate regrown with semi-consistent application. It’s nothing like my original thickness but you take the win when you can. It’s enough that the bare scalp is covered whenever I part my hair.

No more female comb over. I will continue to use to maintain and see what further hair growth is stimulated. The 3% strength did not have any noticeable results.

You have to give this stuff a try! it is going to take time, but be patient, because the results are beyond worth it. You’ll have to deal with the process of hair shed in the beginning but that too will pass and the new growth stage will begin.

I’ve applied Moroccan oil to my mids/ends for several years now for extra conditioning. My hair is fine to medium with slight wave, I typically air dry and style with heat very minimally. As my hair is getting longer, I wanted to try something new to help mend a few split ends and prevent future breakage.

Unfortunately, after a month of use, I have MORE split ends and overall dryness than before, to the point of contemplating cutting several inches off my hair because it looks so terrible with the use of this product.

I’m going back to oil!.

The dispenser does not work properly. It took 20 pumps to get any action. What a terrible design. As for the product, I find it a bit too “heavy” for ends that are flat ironed. It may be fine when my hair is “natural”/WITH LEAVE-IN.

I don’t doubt the quality, but this is not the first time a bottle design from The Mane Choice has been a disappointment. One oil leaked all over my gym bag once and another spray bottle never worked so I transferred it to another bottle.

I was bit leary about using this product initially as I have fine thin hair and thought it might weigh my hair day, making it look greasy. This product however is a has a thin light consistently. I goes on easily in my hair and keeps it feeling fresh on my non hair washing days.

I received a sample of this ages ago and never bothered to try it until recently,. I finally opened up the foil packet out of desperation and frustration with my frizzy thin hair. I followed the instructions, applied the serum, and went about my day.

After running around in high heat and humidity for several hours, I looked into a mirror and couldn’t believe my eyes. My hair was SMOOTH, but it still had volume! There wasn’t a flyaway in sight and each strand looked beautifully healthy.

Usually products like this can weigh my hair down, but not Living Proof. The brand name fits quite well now that I think about it LOL I was so happy that my desperation led me to this smoothing miracle worker, but only for a moment.

Of course, as fate would have it, I look it up and find out that this product is discontinued. Which I can’t even be upset about because it’s totally my fault that I didn’t try the sample sooner. If they ever repackage this and re-release it, I’ll be first in line to buy several bottles!!!.

This is one of the worst hair care styling products I’ve ever used. It claims “no oils or silicones”, but my hair always looks so oily after I use it and stye my hair, it’s really a shame. And I’m really using just 1-2 pumps for my long hair.

This anti-hair fall fortifying serum really impressed me. Powerful active ingredients, such as Aminexil, ginger root extract, and creatine deliver visible results. I struggle with hair fall for quite a long time already, and this serum is exactly what I needed! I apply it every other day, gently massaging into my scalp.

The glass bottle with a pipette feels convenient and provides comfortable using.

Product arrived perfectly packaged and with a nice modern look. I’ve only done a few applications so it’s difficult to say if there is a long lasting improvement, but so far I’m definitely impressed with the feel and texture of the product.

I was noticing my hair was thinning at my edges noticeably and my hair was overall thinner once I turned 40. I got this thinking it would help because I’ve used the shampoo and conditioner in the past and had great results.

All it did was make my hair break off, nothing growing significantly after 2 months. I should see my edges come in better at least. My hair actually feels thinner now than before. Wish I could get my money back because I got the 3 month supply because I initially had great confidence this was going to work based on reviews.

I also didn’t appreciate the application process, not really knowing if it got absorbed where you wanted it to because it dribbled everywhere, just not a very exact application, definitely felt I needed to use more product than mentioned in the directions to cover everything.

Just to note I stopped using it and used Keranique shampoo, that definitely worked for my edges.

Wow!!! Just wow!!! My husband was getting very thin on top and was starting to feel self conscious about it. He’s been using this system for a few months now and I can’t believe how much regrow they he has! A lot of it is lighter than his original hair but it still makes a huge difference.

Overall, I would say he has 50% more hair than when he started. The shampoo and conditioner also make the rest of his hair fuller and have more body. We’re both so happy!.

my hairstylist recommended me this and my hair not only started growing but it made it thicker. I put this on and use a scalp massager to make sure it sinks in. it’s light weight. u don’t even feel like u have anything on when it dries.
