20 Best Hair Serum For Dry And Frizzy Hair (2023 Updated)

I wanted to go from natural to straight without excessive heat damage, and not loose my natural curls, so I went to YouTube looking for a solution and found this product. The first time I used the Anti-frizz Serum, it was good but not great.

The second time I used it, I washed my hair with the sleek shine shampoo and conditioner. Then I used the sleek shine Moroccan oil treatment. Game changer! I had to remove 1 star because the anti-frizz serum is not a stand alone product, but works well with the entire line of products.

I would definitely recommend 10/10 but I would purchase the entire product line. It was very affordable. I got all 4 products for about $10 from Family Dollar.

I’ve been using this line of products by Garnier for about twenty years. I occasionally try a new brand, but I always come back to sleek and shine. Their anti frizz serum is the only product that manages my hair even if I let it air dry.

I have super thick, frizzy hair that becomes knotted and out of control within five minutes of brushing. I used to have to wash it every day just to have the opportunity to add conditioner to keep it somewhat manageable.

This serum keeps my hair flat and manageable for up to three days between washes! Being able to skip a day or two between washes has done wonders for my day scalp! My daughter inherited my hair. She’s autistic and has a very hard time with the sensation of brushing her hair.

(When she was little we literally had to have one parent hold her arms down while the other brushed her hair as quickly as possible. ) This serum allows me to brush and style her hair once in the morning and it stays nice and neat for the whole day.

Before using this on her hair we had to brush her hair every three or four hours to keep the birds from building nests in her hair!!! I reccomend applying to damp hair straight out of the shower for best results.

I start with a quarter sized amount spread through the lower half of the hair first. Then brush it through and add a TEENY TINY amount spread over the roots and top of the hair. Dry and style using your preferred method.

The only thing stopping me from rating this a full five stars is how greasy it can get if you’re not careful. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way. If you overdo it, your hair and scalp will look like you used Crisco as a conditioner.

I highly recommend applying half a pump or less at a time until you reach your desired result. Sometimes, if you’ve only applied a little too much, you can spray some water on your hair and then blast it with a blow dryer on the hottest setting to remove the excess product.

However, I’ve definitely found myself having to just wash my hair all over again to fix it or having to wear a hat all day if I don’t have time to wash again. I do not reccomend this product for people with super fine hair or a naturally oily scalp.

For 3 years I have been using this product I always pick it up when it’s near empty, I love it so much smells so great and it’s shiny yet not greasy I usually apply it to my hair when it is wet but even when it is dry the product sets in when I sleep the next day I wake up and it’s shiny and perfect! I have straight thick hair and it works for me I also believe it has helped me In hair growth and making my black hair look AMAZINGLY shiny.

I love it so much that I pick up the shampoo and conditioner of sleek and shine and that has also been 5 stars! I’ve tried a lot of high end brands and I will always stick with Garnier to keep me looking and smellin like a fresh apple! I’m going in tomorrow to pick up the deep conditioner and hairspray I have no doubt I’ll love those just as much! Any one should try it.

Serum I usually follow CGM, and while I loved how this felt in my hands to SOTC (scrunch out the crunch of my gel) after my hair was dry, I won’t be using it again due to the buildup potential of dimethicone when you don’t also use sulfates.

Shampoo I usually follow CGM, so I don’t usually use products with sulfates or silicones. The shampoo wasn’t as drying as I feared, but it still felt drying enough that I won’t be using it again. It did seem quite cleansing, but that’s expected with sulfates.

Conditioner I usually follow CGM, and this only has one drying alcohol that makes it non-CGM. However, I usually like my conditioner thick and creamy, and this was quite thin. I typically wash and condition first, then rinse my conditioner out right before getting out of the shower.

However, I had to rinse and reapply halfway through—my hair started feeling really dry. It seemed better after the second application. In my experience, frizz comes from dryness, so you’d think a frizz-fighting product would provide sufficient moisture.

Cream I usually follow CGM, so I wouldn’t normally have tried this due to the amodimethicone. In some ways, I really liked this cream, but my hair didn’t curl up as tightly as when I use my regular products.

I’m hoping it might be good for the dry winter months of January and February, though—I’ve been wondering if amodimethicone would help at that time of year, along with cutting out humectants. Overall, I ended up with more frizz on wash day than I do using my regular, CGM-approved products.

That said, the silicones protected my hair from the added frizz I usually get outside, and my refresh days (when I didn’t wash my hair for the next few days) were less frizzy than usual. Hair type: 3a/b, high porosity, low density, medium strand width.

Frizz for me usually comes from dry air and dry hair, not excess humidity. Climate: the desert: low dew point December–April, medium dew point May—November.

So it’s a very convenient size bottle only 3 ounces very bright yellow color and absolutely marvelous scent of flowers that is not overwhelming and very clean and pleasant. There’s a little cover over the pump that’s transparent, the bottle is transparent as well and the pump is very convenient and only gives you the amount that you need per each pump action.

It’s very liquidy and oily but the serum is nice and smooth and silky and it works pretty well especially on damp hair but I would actually suggest using it on dry hair so you don’t overuse it because it is oil or oily and you don’t want to have that much oil in your hair because it’s going to get dirty/greasy pretty quickly then.

 it did also help with the flyaways and keep it from becoming frizzy. I think it’s a very good product and I will continue to use it because it works and I really like the scent and I really like that it’s not such a big bottle that I could bring it with me in my purse and I love the little cover for the pump so even if it spills it won’t actually leak.

I will recommend this product and the line because it’s high quality, luxurious appealing and almost substitutes for a slight body mist or perfume that smells like beautiful smelling flowers which reminds me of wisteria.

But the scent is definitely not overpowering it’s slight and subtle and sweet and floral. Thank you Influenster for letting me try this product which I love. .

I rarely blow dry my hair. I dye it and balayage and then spend so much time outside that I feel like it gets beat up enough. Still, on occasion, I want a nice sleek look to my ordinarily wavy hair and do a quick blow out, but always with a high end protector.

I perfer spray on protectors or Morrocan Oil when blowing out my hair. So when I tried this at first, I was kinda surprised on how thick it was. It wasn’t runny like Morrocam Oil or bio silk (How I loved that) it also integrated really well into my damp hair.

It didn’t feel greasy or heavy. I blew it out like normal and loved it! My hair was straight and super shiny. The blow our lasted me well throughout a busy day It was super soft to the touch and never got greasy, even when I applied some for extra shine after the blow out.

I really like it’s thicker texture because I was able to concentrate it on those areas I wanted the shine to hit or I knew the curl had a mind of it’s own. It didn’t feel like it would get all over the place like the the oil type products.

The next day it washed out of my hair very well. The wave came back and my hair returned to it’s normal bouncy self. So I would totally recommend this product since it’s easier to deal with than some other products and really made my hair feel wonderful and even better, look very natural after styling.

Like some others here, I first spotted this oil in an article on Buzzfeed. I regularly color my hair in fashion colors, which requires that I bleach my hair first, so I was interested in trying anything that might help with the frizzies, and this DID NOT disappoint.

I have fairly thick, long hair, so I have to use about ten pumps when drying my hair, but then just a couple drops on the tips of my fingers worked through the last 2-3 inches of my hair when dry results in smooth, shiny, beautiful hair that I regularly get compliments on.

(To be completely honest, I have also had Brazilian blowouts done, but in my opinion this oil only adds to the smoothness and helps me maintain the blowout between salon visits. ) I generally only wash my hair once a week to help maintain my color better, but the addition of this oil to my hair while I am blow drying it out makes it go much more smoothly.

To add to that, it smells wonderful! I regularly catch myself just smelling my hair throughout the day right after I’ve washed and dried my hair. I don’t know what all of you are complaining about with a heavy smell; it does not stink to my nose and usually what scent there is fades within a day or so, and I haven’t had one person yet comment that it had an overwhelming scent when I’m out and about.

And it does not weigh down my hair at all; I’ve used argan oils in the past that seemed like they were just adding weight to my hair, and this product is lightweight enough to allow my hair to show its natural volume while still keeping it smooth and shiny.

My stylist at my salon LOVES me because of how well I take care of my hair, and I have told her several times that at least part of it is due to this lovely oil. I can highly recommend it!.

I love this hair oil. It really helps my keep the end of my hair full of moisture and looking healthy. I absolutely love the smell of the oil. I have thin hair, so I use a very small amount and i find that it does not make my hair look oily.

I only put it on the bottom four inches of my hair to help the split ends. I do find that while it doesnt make your hair look oily, it does make it feel oily. It didnt really seem to ever dry very much into your hair.

It makes you hair a little slick, but I assume thats just because of the moisture, I mean it is oil? Overall, I love this oil. Its one of the only hair products I use. Im very picky about my hair and dont put many things in it as I think most things are just gimmicks and dont work.

Well for starters I’m a guy with long thick hair. I somehow stumbled upon this stuff back in high school. I don’t remember how or where I got it from nor why I decided to put it in my hair but the results blew me away.

Let me start by saying I love , I love , I love this product. I love the texture and the smell of this serum. It does not grease my hair at all after applying and definitely reduces all the frizz. My hair goes really fresh looking , healthy and manageable.

I also use this serum as a heat protection as it does protect my hair from heat and humidity. It has kept my hair smooth for days and isn’t that the best ? I had read a lot of reviews on this product and I wanted to try it for my own.

This is the best hair smoothing serum I have ever used. It is a very light creamy serum (not clear and sticky). It tames loose fly away hair and static hair from straightening irons and gets rid of frizz.

I was horrified when I found out it was discontinued! I have tried an alternative GHD product but no where near as good as this one. I don’t know what I will do when I finally run out?.

Hairs need to be nourish frequently if you use electrical tools for everyday hairstyles and oil treatments hair masks are just too long and tiring. This is the product that you need if you are like me who doesn’t have time and patience in salon treatment for hair.

Apply a dullop of this serum on your hand and just rub in your scalp and hair. Has an instant shinning result.

This is definitely my go to product it’s so nice and keeps my hair looking silky smooth and nice. I believe it is affordable if I’m not wrong and last bought it online. I would highly recommend this to others especially if you have frizzy hair that just doesn’t stay put when your straightening!.

I’ve been fighting winter hair frizz and have been looking for something perfect. I really wanted to love this but it’s not quite there. It’s not sticky, which is great, and it doesn’t make my hair look plastered to my head, which is also great, but on the other hand it doesn’t really seem to do much at all.

It doesn’t even seem to give a bit of shine or leave scent on the hair, so after applying I really feel like I haven’t done anything at all? Maybe it would work for other hair types but it seems to have no effect on mine whatsoever.

I tried this having high hopes as I really like Aesop products. The smell was lovely but the product itself didn’t really do much. It wasn’t sticky or weighed down my hair but my hair also didn’t feel less frizzy or anything like that.

Disappointed that it didn’t do anything other than smell nice.

I have really damaged ends, I do hair masks once in a while but it doesn’t really fix my ends, especially since I’ve done multiple straight perms (and am extremely due for one). I do feel like the serum hydrates and fixes my ends but just a bit, but I can’t really tell since I feel it would be better for my hair if I just chopped if off :(, but it smells really good and has a pretty good value for the amount you’re getting.

P. s. I would also recommend the Gisou honey hair oil but it is a but pricey so.

I have very frizzy hair that under normal conditions I have to use LOTS of heat styling to get it to stop frizzing. With this stuff, I can do a basic blow dry (or even air dry) and it tames most all the end frizzies for me.

I do a small amount after a washing/towel dry and see a definite improvement. I have a feeling those with more talents in the styling area than me – I’m not an expert on hair styling at all – would be able to get glassy smooth hair using this as part of their routine, but I’m just happy not to have to do much work to get my hair to stop looking like I stuck a fork in an electical socket.

This is a nice product that works well.

For soooo long I was searching for a product that would control my frizzy hair in the florida humidity i live in and i tried a various amount of things, ranging from amazon reviewed products to very high end products (spending $50 at a time just trying to tame this mane) i promise you i looked like Hagrid when the humidity and frizz got to my hair, the moment i stepped out the house my hair was going into a ponytail.

I stumbled across this product on a grocery run and the shelf looked empty which sometimes mean the product sells well (or they don’t restock LOL, pick ur poison) and this serum has worked wonders for my 2a THICK wavy hair, it really does keep the frizz at bay!!! so thankful i found a product that keeps me looking sane for such a small price point.

I’ve used a lot of anti frizz products. I have very fine, curly hair and have no natural moisture so it frizzes your bad. I need to use an anti frizz almost every day. This stuff is the real deal. It’s a nice thing serum that will define your curls and gets rid of frizz.

Also one bottle lasts a very long time as you only Need a smalll amount to make a big difference. I mix mine with gel for extra hold. Great product and great value for the money.

Redken’s Frizz Dismiss Instant Deflate is an important part of my hair care regiment. No more frizz disasters, my hair is soft and smooth. I’m in my 50’s and I have wavy Porous aging hair. I often air dry my hair and if I don’t use Redkens Frizz Dismiss Instant Deflate Spray on my hair, my hair will definitely become a frizz disaster.

I’ve given this product to my friends, who have the same issues with frizz, and they were incredibly pleased grateful.

I love Redken products and this anti-frizz serum is by far the best product in their entire line. My hair is naturally wavy and so, so thick. My hair frizzes up every. Single. Day. I hated it so my beautician recommended this product and it’s been my go-to ever since.

The bottle lasts forever as you only need a small amount. Definitely worth the money.

The left side of my hair was air dryed with redken and on my right side was another product. Honestly after about 2 hours they look exactly the same. More manageable than usual but still many flyaways.

Apparently they have upgraded the frizz line so I will see how it has improved. My point is Frizz dismiss smooth force on Amazon is 25 dollars the awapuhi Paul Mitchell high gloss primer is 29 dollars and has the same results on the right side.

I would stick with the lesser price.

I have been purchasing the hair serum for a very long time so this isn’t my first review. but it deserves another shout out for being such a good product. last a several months and I use it every single day.

Just a pump warmed in my hand then massaged throughout my entire head and hair on days I wash my hair. each morning a small amount just on the ends. It is so light, absorbs instantly and leaves my hair shiny and healthy.

Seriously this is an awesome product. Some weeks in winter weather I will use a full pump or two throughout my dry hair leave on for entire day before a wash for extra conditioning. Even using more it looks like I just styled in a different way.

this is a long review but one more thing. the fragrance is so nice I will put a bit on my wrist to enjoy even more throughout the day!!!.

Jose’s products are all I buy & use. I am a senior on limited income. The word OIL probably turns off a lot of ladies. If you give her products a chance to absorb in to your hair & skin you will understand why her discovery of the wonders of argon oil are so different then other “oil” products , they do what no other moisture products have ever done for me.

My skin & hair love her products. The second thing I love about this product is it only takes drops to work! That makes it economical with my income, so I recommend her Argon Oil products very highly, I was a beauty consultant for many years, now I don’t use so much “makeup”, at my age, healthy looking skin go’s a long way to looking presentable.

A little bit of mascara, a touch of color on my fading brows, & lastly a touch of the wonderful color stick on my cheeks & lips. I don’t even bother with foundation on days of running errands! Or even an appointment with my doctor, healthy clean skin tells him a lot! So good luck my fellow senior citizens, don’t be afraid to try this “oil”.

The smell is earthy and reminds me of a spa day. I love it! The product is light, tames my fly-always, and helps my hair not feel so dry. I use it on my wet hair and then put it in a bun. When I take my hair down, it is soft, smells great and in no way oily or weighed down.

I like the pump feature and that there are two sizes (one for home and one for travel. ) I started with the travel size and decided it was worth the splurge for the normal size. My only suggestion for improvement is not a reflection of the product itself – I wish it came in a larger size.

I tend to use at least 4 pumps throughout application as I have long hair and I use it from root to tip and not just for fly-always. Overall, the hair serum is a win for me from the touchable results, to the smell that just makes me smile when I smell it, and the cute, yet effective bottle it comes in.

The shampoo, conditioner, and serum are the first beauty products I’ve used up and then gone back to re-purchase in years! Many scents (even natural ones like coconut oil) are a migraine trigger for me.

But I also try hard to select beauty products that are healthy (EWG approved). I have a lot of very fine hair, and a scalp that loves to break out in pimples at the slightest hint of product. All together, a really challenging set of criteria for hair product.

But Seen is amazing and I’m sticking with it for good! No more switching back and forth between products that cause buildup and products that dry my scalp and hair out. The shampoo gets my hair clean enough to go 5-7 days between washes (I do the double lather method).

The conditioner and serum makes my hair easy to detangle and manages frizz well, without weighing it down at all! I will say that I only put the serum on the bottom half of my hair, so I do sometimes get flyaways up top.

If I put the serum up by my scalp, I’m good for a few days but can’t really stretch my wash past my first sweaty workout before my hair starts to look greasy and clumpy.

I have waist length, very dense, color treated, naturally curly hair. I also have extremely sensitive skin and have been TTC/pregnant. I have been on a quest for a holy grail- products that are non toxic, fragrance free, work for my hair to tame frizz and keep definition and improve hair health, and doesnt irritate my skin, cruelty free, and are pregnancy safe.

I found it! I do have to use a lot of product (2 droppers) due to the length, density, and texture of my hair. I only wash my hair 1-2X/week so it’s lasted me for a few months. But OMG my hair looks and feels amazing, my skin is happy, and the smell doesn’t make me nauseous b/c there is basically no smell.

Love it, buying again, and plan to try other SEEN products.
