20 Best Hair Grease For Waves (2023 Updated)

I like the shaping capability that a pomade offers. I use Dax and Murray’s usually when my hair is under 1 inch. I have wavy curly hair so now that my hair is growing longer I need a softer pomade like sportin waves.

I wash my hair every day and apply sportin waves in my hair while it is still damp. I just put a dime or quarter size ammount in my palms and rub together and then apply to my hair like shampoo. After a doing this a couple of times I’m all done and left with managable hair.

This product takes care of dry frizzy type of hair. EXCELLENT, especially if you are growing your hair out and don’t want to slick it down completely.

I used this product once and although it holds up in the hair well, kept it styled and in place all day long, I cannot get this stuff out of my hair. My head is all matted and I’ve shampooed over three times already with very little improvement.

I’m legit nervous I might have to shave my head to get it out. I was using Crew – Fiber previously and after this experience, I am highly skeptical to give lower quality products a try.

I’ve paid 20$ for some name brand pomades i bought this one bc i forgot to packs mines when i was traveling for work. This pomade is so good better then any name brand pomade i have used. It has a great hold nice shine and smells amazing.

So worth the money this is my new daily pomade.

So, many of us are familiar with the Oribe brand–Meghan Markle swears by their perfume, their shampoo is legendary, and the brand, packaging, and product quality just exude luxuriousness. I’ve actually never bought anything from Oribe, because it’s been a little out of my price range for the amount of product you get, but after using this oil and seeing the literal immediate change in my hair, I’m a believer and I will 100% buy this when I run out–it’s that good.

I have dry, allover bleached blonde hair, and I don’t typically use a lot of product because it’s fine and gets weighed down/greasy easily if I’m not careful with where I apply product/what’s in it. That being said, this silky oil is extremely lightweight and I don’t have any problems with it making my hair greasy or weighing it down–seriously! It smells amazing, too, but it’s not overpowering or obnoxious; just light, a little citrus-y/floral-y? I followed the directions on the bottle/box and applied to my roots while damp, then to my ends after blow-drying, and frankly, I look like I got a professional blowout because of how smooth, shiny, and silky my hair looks.

In my opinion, this oil doubles as a heat protectant and detangler (although I don’t think Oribe claims that) in addition to a nourishing leave-in treatment. All in all, I’m blown away (no pun intended) by this product, and would highly recommend it to anyone who heat styles–whether your hair is fine, thick, color-treated, virgin, curly, straight.

I think this oil can be used by just about anyone, and the amount you get for the price is very reasonable.

This is one of my fav hair oils. I find this perfect for any hair type. I have this at home aswell as use it in salon where I work. All oribe products are designed to be layered on top of each other without giving any residue providing the correct amount has been used.

If you get a residue you have used too much. I like using this in wet hair after applying the supershine moisturiser then again once I’ve blow dried it straightened to smooth the ends more. It makes the hair smell amazing and so silky.

All oribe products are highly concentrated so only a little amount needs to be used. If you don’t find it’s doing anything use a little more.

First, let’s talk initially how gorgeous this packaging is because I think we need to take a moment to appreciate it 😍 Initially as I opened the product the entire cap came off and I was wondering how to properly apply this product.

I had no idea there was actually a pump because it’s hard to tell and you end up taking the entire cap off. After reading other reviews apparently I’m not the only one this has happened too. Not sure why that happens but it is alittle off putting however if you just pull up on the cap a pump is included for the product to be dispensed, I absolutely love the smell! It smells so good and is heavily scented if that’s not your thing.

I used this on my hair two different ways. I applied it to mostly the ends when it was wet after a shower which I didn’t really like the way it made my hair feel. It didn’t feel like it was absorbing into my hair.

I also used it dry on the ends and to help flyaways stay down as it was dry and I was blow drying and straightening. I didn’t notice any long term improvement to my hair after using this product but it does smell amazing and keep my frizz at bay.

I have curly hair with lots of damage and I definitely need a good oil. I prefer a leave in conditioner but I definitely think a oil has a place in a hair care routine as well. For the price I probably wouldn’t repurchase this product but I definitely want to try other products from this company.

Overall the product smells amazing and does do a great job at keeping frizz away and taking the fly aways.

I bought this to try with the Pineapple curl bundle. I thought I would need a good product in between wash days. I also loved the name of this product. I use sometimes directly on wet hair and dry with a blow dryer or as a finisher at the ends.

Works amazing. My one request is that they enhance the smell to smell like sea salt and beach waves. I wanted to be reminded of living in California and how amazing the air is next to the Coasts or bodies of water.

It has a slight banana smell which is not bad. I can see how that ties in to the title “salty”. Everyone used to wear Banana Boat Sunscreen in Cali when I was younger and the smell of this slightly reminds me of that.

so it gives me great memories overall. Use in small doses for best results. Rub small amount in palms a glide through curls. No build up or residue until the end of your week.

I could never get my hair to cooperate with gels or liquids but my 2b-c bi-racial hair loves this product. First I use a cream heat protectant and blow dry my hair til about 90% dry using a wide tooth comb.

I put a nickel size amount of this in my hair then finish blow-drying my hair with a vent brush. Next I roll my hair into 3 flexi rods and let it cool. When I take them out, I flip my head upside down and shake my curls to separate using mousse and my fingers at the root to give volume.

Whole routine takes 20 minutes. After I have bouncy, matte curls that last ALL day and when I say all day I mean from 7am until I get home at 7pm. At night I’ll mix a dime size with water, smooth it through my hair, roll it into a bun, then sleep on a satin pillow case.

Next day ill have soft waves that are frizz free. Plus the smell is a dream. It’s faint and beachy, not POW in your face! Please don’t ever stop selling this!!.

I have only used this, in a very small amount, on dried, already styled hair. I think it worked great! I had read other reviews mentioning that it only works well on wet hair, drying it after. Not so! I think the key to your hair not getting oily looking is that a very small dab will do.

I have extremely long hair, past my mid-back. I used about a half teaspoon, rubbed it between my hands, then lightly scrunched it through all of my hair. It have more texture and body and looked just that right amount of messy.

The scent is lovely and very light. Not perfumey at all, which I love about Pacifica products!.

I find that this is a white and less waxy texture than the orange wax I was expecting. Perhaps this is great for 360 waves. Seems like a pretty weak product overall. I used to use it back in the day for waves when I wanted to “sleek” my hair into a ponytail but while maintaining wavy hair in the front.

Smells delightful. Only giving 4 stars as it’s not been used yet. I have a reluctant pre-teen who wants to train a new low fade and accent his natural wave, but he’s too lazy to do it! I’m sure the product will be great as it feels a really nice consistency.

At first I really liked this product. It kept my hair from getting frizzy and locked my curls in. However, it does NOT rinse out with water. I now have product build up in my hair; shampoo doesn’t completely take the waxiness out of my hair.

I do not plan to purchase again.

It does a great job of bringing out your wave pattern and holding your waves in place. It has a nice decent smell. The only issue I have is that it can be a bit greasy on your hands if you like to rub your hair throughout the day like I do.

This product has a very strong hold. It’s great for people that already possesses 360 style waves wants to keep them neat and shiny all day or longer. Smells great too.

I don’t even use these for waves, I have sort of Wavy hair already and put it straight back. It stays looking clean all day and keeps my hair movable, washes off easily. Also it doesn’t leave any excess oil/residue on my forehead throughout the day which is the problem I had with other pomades and Gel just kept my hair too hard.

I have used pomades in the past and thought this would be similar with better functionality. Boy, was I wrong! Granted, my hair isn’t full and lush as some other guys have. However, I thought this would be easy to apply and style with.

I applied and used the pomade as it states on the container. As I combed through, the stuff was thick and made my hair feel rather gunky. It was impossible to get it styled as I would of liked. If you’ve ever felt the consistency of tar, this is what it reminded me of while on my hair.

Granted, this stuff has a really strong hold. A tornado could blow by and none of your hair would be out of place. It has a nice smell overall and isn’t overpowering. Another drawback I encountered, was getting this washed out of my hair.

Several washes later and still feel it in my hair. I have that “just out of bed” look without even trying. Two stars for the hold and scent, but it really needs improvement on the thickness. (I’m by no means model material, but wanted to showcase how this product looked upon my thin hair.

Sportin’ Waves reminds me soooo much of my childhood 😆. When I was between 9-14 years old, this was my go to for GUARANTEED waves. It’s a good hair trainer too! Since I have too much hair to give a personal review from me, I had my bf try it, and worked just how I remembered lol.

Because of his hair texture, the Sportin’ Waves slicked his hair down, but gave it shine, and noticable waves. Remember, a little goes a long way!.

I’ve been using wave builder products for a while I love all of them. They work for my hair and I see progress after constantly brushing. My wave are even more deep.

Spin n wave is the best product in its price range. Simply apply to damp or dry hair brush and cover. You will need to add an additional moisturizer because it does leave your hair looking dry.

My husband uses this faithfully, myself occasionally, pretty much when my hair feels dry. Other than that my hair is naturally wavy. I give this 4 stars because of the loud smell and oily texture.

I’ve used this product on freshly washed and conditioned hair 4 times now. I’m still trying to find the right amount product for my hair. I like the smell and how soft it makes my hair feel but it’s still not controlling the frizz in under layers in the back, despite applying it on various ways.

I think the pump should be changed to a pump that doesn’t require you to pick up and grip the bottle because when you already have product on your hand from applying to the first section it’s next to impossible to pick up, grip the bottle and push down on the little pump with your finger.

A pump that allows you to leave the bottle on the counter and push down on the pump would work much better. Like a lotion bottle pump. I’m still working to love this product. The shampoo and conditioner arrived today so maybe that will make a difference.

I have thick, course, wavy/curly hair and I do color my hair (primarily root touch ups for the grays) every 6-8 weeks. I’ve been using the LUS product line for almost 8 months now and my curls have definitely made a comeback! I had moments of frustration but I’m so glad I stuck it out with the product line and watched the many tutorial videos because eventually the years of product build up dissipated and now my hair is the curliest and healthiest it has ever been since I was a little girl.

I have now tried all 3 All-in-One types (wavy, curly and kinky-coily). While it makes the most sense that the wavy or curly would work best for my curl type, the kinky-coily has actually given me the best curls and hold yet (my hair seems to react better to the thicker cream, maybe because my hair is so thick and course)! So depending on the look I’m going for, from a loose beach wave to a more tight curl, will depend on which All-in-One I decide to use for that day.

I received the shampoo & conditioner litres for Christmas, as well as the hair elixir (I was expecting the same scent I love about the shampoo/conditioner but there’s actually no scent in the elixir) and I was so excited because I LOVE my LUS products!! My curls truly are healthier now than they’ve ever been, especially after all the years of product build up and heat from flat/curling irons.

I thought I’d gotten into a routine with my mixed race wavy hair when a stylist told me I was just weighing it down with conditioners that were too heavy for me. Along with trying out a lighter shampoo and conditioner (not LUS) I tried out the LUS wavy styling product.

It works great. My waves are shiny and have great definition without excess volume. Refreshing with a spray bottle of water and a little product is an easy routine. I think I was over moisturizing before to make my hair more manageable.

But with a reliable styling product like this I don’t have to do that anymore. I’m experiencing less scalp irritation as well now that I’m not overloading with conditioners.

I went to CVS because I ran out of leave in conditioner. I picked up my usual SheaMoisture Leave In Conditioner 100% Pure Jamaican Black Castor Oil and the Taliah Waajid Curly Curl Cream right next to it.

It caught my eye because the container was small and I had never heard of the brand. Plus you couldn’t beat the price so I said let me just try this and worst case it’s not expensive. WOOOOO let me tell you that I came on this website just to LEAVE A REVIEW because my curls are like never before!!! I almost want to return the expensive SheaMoisture Leave In.

Please do yourself a favor and buy this! At first it feels stiff in your hair but rinse some water over it and MAGIC happens.

I love it so much. But more importantly. my hair loves it! There literally is no flaking or buildup. It washes out beautifully. This cream makes the curl, then holds the curl. On Black Friday I ordered enough to last the entire year.

Yep. I’m pretty pleased about that. This cream is NOT for everyone. My curls are high porosity, medium density, thin packed strands, coarse texture, 3c curl pattern. It works perfect for me. All Taliah Waajid is amazing except for their products containing glycerin.

This is a thick pomade which smells great. Has a bit extra holding power for thicker hair. Effective during “wolfing” for WAVERS.

Three star hair care. This has been a decent back up when I couldn’t find my primary pomade. Even between hair cuts this product helps to keep your hair looking good.

I’ve realised through trial an error that it’s the shampoo and conditioner. I activate it in my hand and the fact that it doesn’t lather doesn’t really bother me but it doesn’t matter how much or how little I use my hair is always greasy.

My curls are definitely more defined and there is less frizz but my hair just isn’t clean. I’ve contacted the noughty team for help but I’ve got no reply. I really don’t know what else to do.

It’s cruelty free which is another winner in my book, vegan friendly and free from parabens and other nasties, seriously what more could we ask for! I thought maybe the product was too good to be true but I’m very happy to be proven wrong.

The tube is funky with a lovely light colour contrast with nice funky pink writing hilighting certain details like the products name. It’s easy to disperse being a tube so you don’t overuse, simply squeeze out the required amount and top up as required.

It’ll also last a few months judging on usage thus far which has been plentiful as I wanted to give the cream a good testing prior to review which is exactly what’s been done as it’s been around a month of continuous usage so my reviews going on that and is completely honest and impartial.

The addition of mango butter is awesome as it contains lots of natural vitamins which moisturise aswell as keeping hair balanced whether dry or greasy. This is brilliant as a lot of other products for the same purpose leave the hair heavy and some can have a greasy feel but not hello wave taming creme, it really does leave the hair feeling nourished, soft and moisturised.

Then there’s the addition of sea kelp which is packed with vitamins and great for hair. The smell of the taming creme is lovely and fresh with a mango fragrance which isn’t overbearing at all it’s just right.

The texture of the creme is fantastic, non greasy and it feels like a moisturising creme which it kind of is in its own right for the hair. I was instantly impressed with the performance after the first use, my curls looked lovely, bouncy, have more volume with zero sign of frizz, super impressive which has been a recouring theme throughout my using of this wonderful product.

Never again will I worry about my curls going frizzy, which has completely amazed, impressed and made my day finding such a fantastically priced natural range. I am so greatful to noughty for bringing my attention to this fabulously affordable 97% natural range and look forward to using the rest of the range in the future and can only imagine the results will increase in greatness.

I once used the pomade for my short and wavy hair. So I jumped to the moisture, because I think moisturizer is better on long hair then pomade. It smells great as the pomade does. I’ve also noticed a tiny bit of growth alongside softness.

Will surely buy again. (Recommended).

Not what i expected, doesnt have much viscosity nor scent.

I really love this product. It gives a gentle hold and volume to the natural waves of my fine hair. Zero crunch and a natural feel. I got this because a lot of curl products are too heavy for my fine hair and just leave it looking clumpy or greasy – this definitely doesn’t! My hair’s only jawlength, so there’s not too much weight for the product to contend with.

You might want something stronger for longer hair. Perfect for shorter, fine hair though!.

I bought this product to enhance my natural waves and wanting to be a curly girl. I was sold instantly on the smell initially it’s divine! After washing my hair and towel drying it I applied the product and scrunched it in I got the waves but my hair felt really awful, looks good but doesn’t feel great.

For a better feel in your hair, use only on damp hair not on dry hair it must be damp. Killer waves I have. Buy this product yes for the smell and the waves.

Unfortunately this product didn’t work for me at all. I have fine wavy-curly GREY hair. I used the product as directed and my hair became extremely DRY and stuck out every where. It did not feel soft and my waves & curls were gone.

I like my hair soft, curls and waves defined and frizz free if possible. I am not sure why this product did not work for me. I was excited to get it. The bottle also leaked.

I was so excited to try my first pomade ever. I typically use gel-cremes on my hair, like Ecoslays Orange Marmalade but since I got my haircut my hair no longer looked good curly anymore. I got it cut into a cute swing bob (where it’s a little longer in the front than in the back) and it looked best with long, soft waves but I needed something to define my natural waves.

I tried my usual leave in stylers: leave in conditioner, mists, gels, creams, etc. but none of them did what I needed them to do. This Pomades description literally says that it will give your hair waves.

Instead what it did instead was make my hair matted, stringy, refused to dry, sticky and made the back of my neck sticky. It smelled way too strong to my sensitive nose. So, I cannot understand why this had so many positive reviews.

Unless, those positive reviews came from people who have african coarse, dry hair. My caucasian hair just hated this. I tried to rinse it out the next day and all it did was make it more stringy and greasier and later that day I ended up having to wash it out and it still wasn’t all out.

If you have caucasian hair, stay away.

As I have said before, I am intense in taking care of my skin, more than my entire face. My routine is strict and I never miss a day. This product is very good, the company creates spectacular products.

I really like it, I highly recommend it as it works for all skin types. It does not leave unfavorable reactions, and with a constant routine you will see the results.

The wave pomade is a great compliment to the 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner. The pomade leaves your hair feeling soft and silky. Yet it give you a good hold for waves and doesnt have the real bad greasy feeling after you apply it to your hair.
