20 Best Hair For Soft Locs (2023 Updated)

I bought these because I felt they looked like real dreaded locs. Application was easy. However after wearing for a week or so, they began to unwind or untwist becoming fat resembling a bad loc job. I wanted locs to be twisted tight and not unravel.

Also, in the course of styling I found loose hair balling together that I eventually ended just pulling out. I read the reviews and looked at the pictures closely, but I guess the batch I got just wasn’t well made.

Freetress never disappoints. I have tried all brands of crochet braids but Freetress is what I always go back to. These faux braids hold up under being pulled back into a poneytail. Various colors blend in well with my hair and no smell.

The only brand I use for Crochet style braids. The don’t lose their shape, or get frizzy. Usually I remove them because my hair needs washing and redoing. But the braids still look excellent! #BlackGirlMagic.

I had an allergic reaction to this hair 3 days after putting in my hair. Make sure you read the return policy. I can not get a refund. I will not buy from here again, at least on Amazon Prime I get my money back for an allergic reaction.

Stop selling hair products that cause allergic reactions in people. Bad product, buyer beware!.

I first heard about Bobbi Boss Micro Braids in 2018 while doing research and looking for something different but more kind to my own hair and scalp. I bought the 14inch M1B/27 micro braids for something different (I always go 1B or 2 in color).

After my stylist crocheted my new style, to say i was happy would be an understatement. The color was very flattering and I received loads of compliments. Not only that, but this hair is very light, pulls much less on my own hair and the styling possilbilities are plentiful.

I plan to stick with this for a while. My only complaint would be that there are NEVER any darker colors available — no 1B, no 2, no 4 but I decided to be adventurous and ordered colors out of my comfort zone.

Love the 99J, and believe or not the Purple looks great. The jury is still out on the 2M/Blue but hey, I will wear anything for a few weeks. I bought 8 packs but my stylist only needed a little less than six.

I’m very happy with my new hair style.

Love this brand, I use Bobbi boss for all my hair needs. I use these faux locs for a protective style and to try something new. It’s decently priced at your nearest beauty supply store. I always check against a price online but it can always be found.

I’m going to purchase again.

I am highly satisfied with this product. I didnt even spend $40 for 7 packs bought and I only used 3 1/2 packs for an install. This hair is very lightweight and manageable. Prior to installing I did wash the locs to get rid of any chemicals to prevent scalp irritation.

However, to my surprise the hair was quite clean.

I feel like with these locs ur best bet is to get black because for whatever reason, the color locs, (I got color 4), does not hold well and they frizz a lot easier especially when doing the jazz nicole method where you wrap the loc around ur hair.

If u plan to use this method then dont get color but if u are planning to put them in the normal braid pattern and latch hook way then the color doesnt matter. I am a little disappointed because my locs look old as soon as i put them.

Also the way these locs are made made it a little more difficult to unravel and wrap which is another why i would suggest doing individual crochet braids with jazz nicole method. These locs also come with an extremely small and barely there loop so the process to open them up difficult which caused even more frizz.

This hair was great. It’s was easy to work with and the color of the hair was so vibrant. I did individuals in the front and back and traditional crochet braids in the middle. The overall appearance of the style was very realistic.

The store has amazing customer service,they texted me to tell me they ran out of the colored I wanted and they gave two #27 and the two colors look great together. I will be buying again.

Bobbi Boss has the most natural looking faux loc crochet hair on the market. Nu loc is very lightweight too. The ONLY complaint I have with the nu loc crochet hair is that the loop opening is almost invisible & you have to untwist the “opening” yourself which slows down the process of installing it a tiny bit.

Other than that, also, if I dip the locs in boiling water before installing (preferably a day or two before) it lasts longer than if I didn’t at all.

I tried Freetress Beach Curl after watching a review on YouTube. I’m sold!!! This hair held up so well with very little maintenance. It doesn’t shed or knot like other brands or even other Freetress curl patterns.

You want a low maintenance, long wear style…here is the go to. This was the first time ordering from Hair to Beauty. I’ll be back. I selected 2 day priority shipping. I’d expected a 2-3 day warehouse processing delay then 2-day shipping like other companies that I’ve used…nope it was on my porch in 2 days.

I have gotten many compliments. My braider broke up the hair and only used 2 packs instead of 4. The lightness is welcomed because of my never ending hot flashes! My only complaint is that it seems to shed more than normal for me.

I’m hoping it will last at least 1 more month. I’ve only had my crochet braids for 1 week. Fingers crossed.

I ordered the FREETRESS SYNTHETIC PRE LOOPED CROCHET BRAID – GORGEOUS LOC 12 INCH. In T30 this hair is absolutely amazing with a beautiful wave pattern and beautiful curls It is very soft and not heavy.

I bought the same hair at my local beauty supply and paid 8 dollars a bag and the hair was not as soft wavy or as curly. The hair came very fast I ordered on a Sunday had my hair by Friday. My suggestion is to have patience order your hair from here.

It’s well worth it and you get way more hair my braider could not stop raving about the hair. Usually I have to buy 7 bags at the beauty supply I ordered 7 bags and my braider really didn’t need but 6 she used 7 just to not waste a bag.

This is beautiful hair and I will order all my crochet and braiding hair from here from now on. Customer for life.

This was my first time purchasing from Elevate Styles. Ordering was simple and fast. I received my hair within a couple of days of ordering. I will definitely order from them again. I purchased the Zury Goddess Loc Loose Wave and I love the hair.

It was extremely soft. I’ve had my faux locs for about 3 weeks now and yes the hair does start to tangle but the texture is still soft. The hair isn’t too heavy, you may need to purchase more packs than you think since there are less locs in the bag then most other brands but overall I’m very satisfied with my purchase.

This is what I have been waiting for! I have wanted locs for many, many years except that I did not want the permanence. I installed them and an hour later went to Target where a woman stopped me in the aisle to ask me all about my hair.

I have received lots of complements since. The color and texture look very natural and the hair is lightweight. Also, I appreciate the shorter 12 inch length. After 10 days or so, the locs are beginning to fuzz and tangle.

I hoped to refer back to Aftercare for guidance but I find that my use code no longer works. That has been the only disappointment. If I can figure out a product to keep the locs from tangling then I will likely wear them for a couple of months.

I’m a big fan of protective styling. I remember seeing these locs a couoke years back but I couldn’t afford it then. Saved up and finally received it. I guess I was used to hair that was versatile. There are soon many different ways to do crochet locks abf I tried them all with this hair.

The texture would make the hair look bulky at the root , it also had soo much knotting. The color was beautiful but with that came dryness. The hair was light and plentiful which is a positive but for the price, I felt they couldve used a better quality.

First I would like to say the timing in which I received my order for the soft dread hair was unbelievably fast, which pur a huge smile on my face. Once I opened the box it was a blessing that everything was in order.

Then I felt the texture and it was very soft and once I began crocheting it into my hair for the first time was easier than I could have ever imagined. I love this hair, the feel and how it looks. I will definitely recommend this hair to my friends and family and I look forward to using it again.

I use this hair for crochet braids. I cut all in half and then pull apart for three separate pieces. Color #2. I take it down after 4 weeks only because I like to give my hair a full wash and condition.

It would last longer. I also wash the hair with no problem. It actually looks its best after a fresh wash.

I came across this site because I had a bad experience with another vendor cancelling my order. I must say I was not disappointed with ElevateStyles. My order came three days earlier than I expected and I love this hair.

My daughter had the locs installed over spring break and they’re beautiful and lightweight. She did crochet and individuals on the perimeter. we’ll install as individuals next time for a more natural look throughout.

The curls started trying to tangle a little but a little bit of muse fixed that. She has a small head so only 6 or 7 bags were needed. Will definitely buy again.

I absolutely love the hair! I mixed the deep purple with the 1b/purple and the colors are amazing, I get compliments every day. I did individual locs in the front and crochet in the back. It does tangle a bit but that’s not a big deal.

My biggest issue is the hair did NOT do well dipping it in hot water to set my curls. It took away the luster and made it look old immediately. Luckily I only did a small portion and was able to hide it well.

I definitely will be buying again in the near future, I’ll just be sure not to dip them to set any curl pattern. I must add this is my 1st experience with faux locs but I have found my go to brand for these.

Also shipping was much quicker than I expected.

Hair came in a very reasonable amount of time. I liked that I could track the package. Great and very nice customer service- they were quick to respond. The hair was nicely packed. Looks just like the picture.

I will definitely be buying the hair again. Just FYI this hair will probably only last you a good month since it is tightly coiled hair(not wrapped like regular faux locks) but it definitely looks like real dreads though and blends in seamlessly with the faux locks I did around my perimeter.

Make sure you review the hair before buying but I love it, easy management, a few trims here and there for the hair that has snagged a bit but love the hair overall. And great service and hair!.

I bought this hair in late 2016 and installed it at the end of November 2016 and now its January 2017 and the hair is still giving me life. I installed using the individual crochet method and hair moves well and looks like real dreads.

These beauties are simply breath taking. I have received tremendous compliments from this style and it blows their mind when I tell them it’s crochet. They are versitile and don’t fray much. I wrap my hair to keep them looking fresh.

I use Carols Daughter SACRED TIARE hair oil 2 week and her Black Vanilla leave in conditioner for scent. I’ve applied the hair jewelry to the ends, but be careful they can pull the coils apart if not careful.

And watch your jewelry hair can get caught in earrings and or necklaces-had to break necklace to free faux locs. If you like long hair then this is for you. They can be heavy even for me. but I’m loving them.

I’ve had my faux lock in for three days and so far so good. The hair itself is gorgeous. Looks like human hair. Wish I could post a pic to show how flawless this hair looks. A few unraveled a bit but that was due to stylist error, however I can easily twist the hair and it snaps right back in place.

The hair is good texture. While I was on vacation I saw some many women with there hair in crochet faux locs but none the same texture as this Janet hair. So I sent a few women to the website to purchase this hair.

My next order will be the curly ones.

I thought that because it was so cheap it wouldn’t feel right or look how it does in the picture but it does. I haven’t had my hair appointment yet but I think that it will turn out great and it exceeded my expectations.

The only thing is that the texture is really rough which isn’t a problem for me but could be problematic for those with more sensitive scalps.

The worst hair I ever purchased from Ebonyline! When installing, the hair was tangling. I put my large bonnet on before sleeping and woke up the next day, took the bonnet off and my hair was tangled and matted.

I purchased 6 packs of hair, wasted one pack when installing because hair kept tangling and I only wore the style for 1 day; Money Wasted!.
