A hair dryer for fine curly hair can help to improve the quality of your hair by reducing frizz and adding shine. It can also help to protect your hair from heat damage by using lower temperatures. When choosing a hair dryer for fine curly hair, look for one with a diffuser attachment to help distribute the heat evenly and avoid damaging your hair.
20 Best Hair Dryer For Fine Curly Hair
1. Bed Head BH420 Curlipops Diffuser Dryer, Purple
This diffuser dryer assists in fast drying with convenience
The Ceramic technololgy helps to boost the shine and control the frizz
It comes with 2 speed settings and 3 heat settings to lock in the style
Sweeten up your style with Bed Head Curlipops. It gives your hair massive texture and outrageous volume. Don’t blow it, diffuse it. Dimensions: 4″ x 8″ x 11″. This 1875 Watt Dryer is powerful like a traditional hair dryer and can be used 2 ways without the diffuser attachment to dry hair throughout, or with the volume diffuser attachment to work your curls.
I luv this dryer! I have curly hair and I was using a regular blow dryer with a diffuser on the end. That was very bulky and heavy. Eventually the diffuser broke off so I had to get a new one. i saw this dryer on the Walmart app and decided this dryer may be easy to use.
Oh was I right! So much lighter, smaller and faster drying than my old one! My curls turned out great, no frizz and so much volume! If you have cury hair, you need this blow dryer.
Years ago, I bought hair dryer from Conair that was this exact shape, I think it was called the “Pancake” model, and I loved it! It was the BEST hair dryer I ever used! I have super thick, curly hair and the Conair dryer worked amazingly.
Sadly, after about three years, I dropped it and broke the diffuser, rendering it useless. I have never found another one so when I was in Ulta and saw this Bed Head version, I instantly bought it. It was nothing like the Conair.
The Bed Head dryer took 3 times longer to dry my hair. The air flow is extremely weak, but I thought maybe that was intentional to reduce frizz. My curls seemed tighter but fluffier at the same time.
After about three months, I was getting ready for work and it started barely running. At first I thought I had accidentally hit the slowest speed button by accident, but I hadn’t. I just figured it might’ve got too hot, so I let it be till a couple of days later.
I turned on the dryer and it still wouldn’t turn on at full speed, then after a few seconds, it started smoking and the element was turning red. I immediately unplugged it. I was going to return it but, by this time, I had tossed the receipt and thrown out the box.
I have very fine, Type 2A and 3A curly hair. I have wanted this diffuser for a very long time, but was scared to purchase because a few of the reviews said it was too forceful. After using this several times, I have to agree.
It is too much air for my curls. My regular hair dryer with diffusing attachment is much more gentle. On the plus side, I love how the teeth are able to lift hair while drying, although they could be longer.
That is a big plus. Also on the plus side, it does dry hair very quickly. It is also much easier to hold close to the head since the nose is so compact. I will still try to make this work, though, since I want to love it so much!.
Less time, less frizz, more hydration. Your superior drying experience has arrived. The T3 aireluxe professional hair dryer features a custom-engineered fan that propels a wider airflow to significantly reduce dry time, while enveloping hair in a gentle airstream designed to help retain natural moisture.
A powerful ion generator infuses hair with 10mm negative ions per second to banish frizz and boost shine, and a smart microchip digitally controls 15 heat and speed settings for minimized heat exposure, reduced damage3 and personalized styling for every hair type.
Hydrated, frizz-free hair has never been this easy or this fast.
Am I the only person to have paid for this? I purchased it from T3 because it was dual voltage and I was traveling to Europe and wouldn’t be able to use my Dyson (because they are not dual voltage). I used it once before traveling and hated it in less than 60 seconds.
It has very little power and took forever to dry my long, fine hair that typically takes 10 mins with a Dyson and 15-20 with another salon-quality/high-end brand. It was very hot but had no fan power despite the flow concentrator so it’s mostly radiating a hot breeze.
Normally when I dry my hair, it’s soft, silky, and shiny at the end; with this dryer it was dry, frizzy, and felt fried. This is like a $20 travel dryer you would buy at the drugstore and the price relative to the function and quality here is unjustifiable… I think I’ve used better dryers in cheap hotel rooms and felt genuinely shocked to see such a bad product from T3.
I also found the brownish blush pink color drab / unattractive, and the folding head seemed pretty gimmicky because it didn’t do much of anything to reduce the dryer’s awkward footprint due to the long handle and stiff cord at the handle’s base making it even longer.
I was so excited for this but it’s really bad, I almost never return purchases (1-3x per year if at all) but sent this back after one use.
INFRARED TECHNOLOGY: Penetrates the cortex of hair heating it from the inside out. Maintains natural moisture balance to avoid over-drying. CERAMIC COATING: Helps reduce heat damage from over-styling with even heat distribution for smooth and shiny results.
TOURMALINE TECHNOLOGY: Maintain neutral charge on hair’s surface, leaving it looking conditioned and smooth while helping reduce frizz and static for healthy, shiny hair. ALL HAIR TYPES: 1875 Watts for maximum drying power.
2 heat/ 2 speed settings for precise styling. And cold shot button releases cold air to lock in style. PRECISION: Added concentrator and volumizing finger diffuser attachments give you maximum precision for truly customized hairstyles.
I had this product for long and is really good specifically for the price. The speed is really got and the heat is right. The only thing about is when you have for long time the white part get yellow but beside that everything is fine I really recommend.
I’ve tried a lot if different hair dryers over the years and this one is by far one of the best. I currently have a lot of hair (long and thick) and it typically takes me 15 minutes or more to fully blow dry my hair.
But with this dryer it only takes about 10 minutes which for me is huge.
I needed a new hairdryer but I bought this for the attached styling tools (diffuser). The low setting is a bit warm but nothing that burns. I’m extremely conscious of heat damage, and this is not too hot.
The attachments work well too! Overall a good product.
Pre-Owned — Shark HyperAIR delivers premium air power and next-generation intelligence for an easy, healthy hair-care experience. HyperAIR IQ Technology intelligently combines high-velocity heated air and ionized air for ultra-fast drying, no heat damage, and styles that last.
Attach the IQ 2-in-1 Concentrator or IQ Curl-Defining Diffuser and Shark intelligently sets the heat and airflow settings for you.
Lightweight and balanced, the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer reinvents this beauty basic, putting a digital motor in the handle to produce a controlled, high-velocity airflow for ultra-fast drying power.
A microprocessor with intelligent heat control helps protect against extreme heat damage, while the magnetic attachments let you smooth, style, and diffuse with ease. The Supersonic features an ionizer that helps reduce static through negative ions.
When the air exits the machine, additional air is captured from the sides and the back, multiplying the air that was drawn in at the base three times. With this bundle, you’ll receive five attachments — the styling concentrator for precision styling, the diffuser to help reduce frizz and create defined curls and waves, the gentle air attachment to diffuse the air and create a cooler airflow, the flyaway attachment that hides flyaways under longer hair for a smooth, shiny finish (for use on dry and straight or straightened hair), and a wide-tooth comb that helps shape and lengthen curly and textured hair as it dries.
You’ll also receive a round brush and detangling comb. How do I use it: Start at the lowest speed and heat setting and always use one of the attachments. Aim the dryer so the airflow is going down the strand of hair.
Use high speed for fast drying and styling, medium for regular drying, and low for diffusing. Use high heat for fast drying and styling, medium for regular drying, low for cooler drying and diffusing, and a cold shot for constant cold to set your hair after styling.
For fine textured hair, use low speed and low heat setting. For curly hair, use the diffuser with low heat, low speed setting. Gently place curls in the diffuser and lift. For thick/coarse hair, use medium speed and medium heat.
The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer has intelligent heat control technology, which helps prevent extreme heat damage to protect hair’s natural shine. The temperature is measured 20 times a second and transmits this data to the microprocessor, which intelligently controls the patented compact heating element from reaching extreme, hair damaging temperatures.
The powerful tool moves over 13 liters of air every second. Combined with Dyson’s patented Air Multiplier technology, air is amplified threefold, creating a high pressure, focused jet of air for controlled, precise, drying and styling.
The digital motor V9 is on average six times faster, a third of the weight, and half the size of other hair dryer motors. Due to its compact size, Dyson was able to put the motor in the handle, making the dryer feel balanced in your hands.
Don’t blow that gorgeous texture– diffuse it! The Bed Head 1875 Watt Diffuser Hair Dryer is designed with curly hair gals in mind. Its unique design enhances and define natural curls and waves for silky, touchable texture and massive shine.
This 1875 Watt Dryer is powerful like a traditional hair dryer and can be used 2 ways– without the diffuser attachment to dry hair throughout, or with the volume diffuser attachment to work your curls.

This Revlon hair dryer combines three layers of Ceramic Coating to help reduce heat damage. Boosted with Tourmaline Ionic Technology for a smooth and soft finish every single time. Plus, added Concentrator and Volumizing Finger Diffuser attachments give you maximum precision, and styling variety.
This blow dryer has been amazing on my curly hair to diffuse wet hair and stretch the curls when dry! It works quickly, so Im not extra worried about heat damage(still use protectant)! But Im so happy to have it.
so do both my sisters! This dryer is a must have!.
I absolutely love this product, if you’re trying to blow precise spots, this is the one for you. It’s very light weight and insanely easy to use. It’s not too loud and the heat isnt too excessive. Only good things to review about this one.
Buttercup, the ultimate blow-drying tool, has an ultra-powerful 1875-watt motor that dries hair up to 20% faster than other professional dryers. Ionic technology dramatically improves the condition of the hair by increasing shine and reducing frizz.
Buttercup has three temperature settings, two speed settings and a “cool shot” button, which sets styles for longer lasting blowouts.
I really like this dryer. It was my first “professional” hair dryer meaning a step up from the drug store brand dryers of my youth. I bought it after going to the dry bar salons for blow outs. I was fully expecting to be disappointed at my $150 purchase which at the time was a huge investment for someone used to paying $25 max for a dryer.
But I was very pleasantly surprised at the difference it made. This dryer dries my mid back length hair significantly faster and with a lot less damage than the drug store brand does. Instead of 40 minutes it takes more like 30 minutes.
It also does not get as warm and you do not smell your hair burning. It is good for styling. I don’t use the attachments. You also don’t get that thing you do with the other dryers where it overheats and you have to stop drying your hair and wait for it cool down.
I took it to a family reunion and 10 ladies used it. I have since bought one for my Mom and sister in law. The only thing that bugs me is that my cord is all tangled up and I have been unable to untangle it no matter what I do.
After 10 years of use (still going strong) I upgraded to a dyson. The dyson does dry my hair about 10 minutes quicker, it’s lighter, its’ not as loud, it does not get as hot, but the cord is still tangling.
Babyliss pro nano titanium ionic dryer has a stellar combination of power, speed and design that offers both heavy-duty 2000-watt performance and lightweight ergonomic handling. There are six heat and speed settings, a cool shot button, and a concentrator nozzle to provide a wide range of styling options.
The removable filter makes cleaning easy. Babyliss pro nano titanium contains nano titanium which yields maximum far-infrared heat, penetrating the hair from within for faster drying with less damage.
Nano titanium is also an exceptional conductor of heat that maintains stability in ultra-high temperatures.
-super heavy -doesn’t come with diffuser -button display confusing -not worth price It’s a shame that I hate this blow dryer because it really does dry nicely but it’s just that the work you put into get there isn’t worth it.
The dryer is so heavy I have to nold it by the nozzle to lose some of the weight. That is inconvenient if you need to use the cold setting, because the button is in a wired spot. Also, the buttons are BACKWARDS.
so when you think you’re turning the heat up you are actually turning the temperature down. And when you press the power button all the way down you are actually putting it on full speed. Diffuser sold separately, don’t waste your time.
I’ve had this hair dryer for 7 years now. It still works. The wattage is 2000 which is the minimum you should expect with any decent hair dryer (anything below that and you’re exposing your hair to more heat instead of air to dry it, which is damaging).
If you have thick porous hair like mine, you need this. I have a friend who works in a different salon supply store and she recommended this brand and I’m happy with her recommendation. I’ve docked one star because it’s not particularly esthetically pleasing like some of the less effective, but Instagram worthy brands.
But it does the job and that’s what ultimately matters.
I had been using an older model BaBylissPRO Tourmaline Titanium 3000 Dryer for 4 years before it started to fall apart on me. I had wanted to buy this one for awhile but couldn’t get over the price tag.
After finally deciding to splurge I am wishing I had just purchased my old dryer again. Even though this dryer is supposedly significantly stronger, it does not seem to be. It seems very weak compared to my old one.
But the biggest issue is the terrible design flaw. The buttons are awkwardly placed but worst of all the concentrator nozzle simply slides over the dryer, which basically means you have to take it off in order to change the positions.
I have to change the position at least 3 times while drying my hair which is impossible because it gets so hot you can’t touch it! On the older model it snapped in to the top and you could simply twist it without barely touching it.
So disappointed I spent so much money on a lukewarm hairdryer.
Fight the frizz in less time with Digital IonAir technology. Innovative digitally controlled heat combined with a wide, gentle air stream expertly dries hair quickly while maintaining body and shine.
With a powerful built-in ion generator, negative ions smooth the hair cuticle for soft, frizz-free results. The 3 heat and 2 speed settings combine with a lock-in cool shot button to create customized settings for any hair type and texture.
At first I hated this dryer. But now, I love it. I’ll tell you why- 1) I was using a l’ange dryer and if you’ve ever used one you know that thing gets HOT. Even the medium setting is hot. For that reason my hair would dry to quick and would be blown out almost straight.
But what I didn’t realize was having that dryer was damaging my scalp, irritating my dry skin, and destroying my hair. This dryer does not get as hot, but my hair is so much healthier for it. I don’t see the dryer streaming my hair, sucking the moisture out.
It’s fantastic and my head doesn’t itch after using it because it doesn’t dry me out. 2) it’s truly light weight. I didn’t think this dryer was going to be worth it in the beginning because there’s legit no weight to it but it’s amazing that my wrists are dying after I dry now.
I have long, thick hair. Drying takes time and energy. Give this dryer a shot. It might take some adjusting but it’s so worth it.
I was really disappointed in this. To be fair, I’ve been using the Dyson for years now, so I’m a bit spoiled. However, I loved the T3 2i Luxe in the past so I thought I’d try this (I bought the GHD Helios at the same time, to compare).
While it gives nice results (my hair is long, fine and incredibly frizzy), the results are something you can find with a much cheaper machine. While there’s nothing wrong actually with the tech, it feels very glitchy, as if you have a faulty product.
I appreciate high tech but this borders on gimmicky without much payoff. The touch sensors aren’t aligned to how I blow dry, so the machine constantly turns off. When I do want it to turn off, there’s a lag and it takes a while.
The cool shot isn’t intuitive, and it doesn’t get as cool as some other machines including T3! And as a lot of people complain about, the attachments are IMPOSSIBLE to remove. Overall, the machine feels incredibly fragile and delicate, so I’m afraid to even set it down too heavily (and every time I pry of the attachments I swear I think the thing will break apart).
Dyson still wins for me, but you can’t get the Dyson, the GHD Helios is in the same price range but so so so much more user friendly. They have amazing tech, but it’s all on the inside where I prefer it, no gimmicks (though they’re also beautiful machines) and amazing results.
I’ve seen a lot of hype on social media about this dryer, so I’ve wanted to try it for some time. The price tag stopped me, but when it when on sale, I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad that I did! I’ve had rotator cuff surgery, and was worried about it being heavy as some reviews have said, but I don’t find it heavy at all.
I had also read reviews about difficulties with the attachments, but I have had absolutely no issues at all. I find them easy to put on and I love that they click into place when rotated to different angles.
My favourite feature is that it turns off when I put it down. Since I dry my shoulder-length hair in sections, it really helps keep my bathroom from overheating. I have fine, colour-treated hair that is curly/frizzy if it isn’t blow dried, and I really like the variety of temperature settings that this dryer offers so that I can baby rather than damage my hair.
With my old dryer, it took about 25 minutes to do all of the sections. I didn’t find that it cut down my drying time as much as some people have said, but it does a nice job of drying my hair smoothly, so I don’t have to do quite as much with the flat iron.
(I do still have to use it. ) Fly-always are not eliminated (it is winter, after all), but I think they are reduced. Even my husband loves this dryer for his short hair. I’m glad I took the plunge and gave this dryer a try.
Whether you want sleek or voluminous hair, this Mint Green Pro Hair Dryer 2000 from Harry Josh is there to cater to all of your hair styling needs. Equipped with multiple heat and speed settings, this professional blow dryer lets you choose how to dry your hair.
The blue button on the front of the handle lets out a cold shot so you can set your style and reduce unwanted frizz. Coming with two nozzle attachments and an ion setting that you can turn on or off, this blow dryer will give you an effortless salon-quality style that’ll last.
I bought this blow dryer back in 2017. I had never had a professional blow dryer and I definitely had never spent this much money on one. I was searching for something industry users used and I knew who Harry Josh is and figured I’d try this blow dryer out.
I LOVED it! This is the ORIGINAL hair dryer. Not the newer lightweight one. This girl is HEAVY. Definitely ideal for packing in a checked bag for a flight. The power switch now will not move. I can’t click it on any setting.
It’s permanently on the “off” setting. The paint has also been peeling off of the entire unit. It ends up on my hands and when I go to style my hair, I see little green paint chips in my hair. I really thought this was going to last me an extreme amount of time.
My hair stylist has been using the same blow dryer she bought in cosmetology school at Aveda for the last 12 years. I tried to unscrew the screws in the handle but the unit uses very interesting screws I have tried multiple different screw drivers and all have failed to work.
The screw female end has a star shape and I guess I’m going to go to the hardware store with the blow dryer to see what they might have. I just want to open the handle to see if I can solve the problem and get it working again.
(the paint is an issue I don’t see a solution for. ) The warranty is clearly out for this purchase. I give this product 4 stars because it worked AMAZINGLY for 5 years. But for the cost and it breaking down on me, I would give it a lower rating.
I’m very disappointed this product didn’t last much longer for the price when I’ve had drugstore blow dryers last longer. For product lifetime, I give it a 1 star.
Small, lightweight, travel friendly, makes hair look great…check, check, check, and check. Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes. Compared to another that’s even more pricey and starts with a D I would choose this one.
It’s smaller and light weight. The compact size sold me and the way my hair looks after a blow out is what helped me decide to keep it. I got mine and the Dermstore and right now there is a much better discount that what I got it for.
Check it out and see for yourself. It’s a great piece of hair loving machinery!.
My sister got me hooked on this hair dryer when I was visiting. My hair is curly and I have a lot of it, so drying takes 45 minutes. I used hers once and was amazed. It dried my hair in half the time.
It took me a year or so to justify the price and finally break down and buy it. I did get the Ultra-light version. I have no regrets. I am in love. It not only dries your hair quickly, it also makes it look like you had a professional blow-out.
It has 3 heat setting , a cool shot button and you can turn the ION’s on or off depending how you want your look or are using a deep conditioner. I think it blows the Dyson away. You will not regret this purchase.
Baby Buttercup is the ultimate travel dryer! Designed with two temperature settings, a cool shot button, featuring ionic technology to improve the condition of the hair by increasing shine and reducing frizz and folds to easily into a carry on.
Operates at 120V and 240V. “I’m full of hot hair!” travel bag included.
Color/Pattern: White Experience Healthier More Beautiful Hair Every Time You Blowdry. Powered By Proprietary T3 Tourmaline Softaire Technology The Featherweight 2 Generates A High Volume Of Ion~Enriched Air That Dries Hair Fast.
It Is Proven To Be Healthier Than Air Drying Helping Hair Retain Natural Moisture For Soft And Shiny Results. With A Sleek Design Ergonomic Angled Handle And Lightweight Body The Featherweight 2 Is The Perfect Blend Of Beauty And Function.
I have fine curly hair that gets frizzy easily if I don’t put my Pureology pure volume blow dry amplifier gel or Pureology texture twist reshaping styler in while wet or damp before it starts to dry.
My hair has always taken a long time to dry, somewhere between 30 and 60 minutes. Not anymore thanks to my T3 Featherweight 2! I’ve cut down half my drying time since now it’s dry in 10-15 minutes, not including extra time if it’s frizzy and I use my new T3 twirl curling iron or T3 single pass flat iron.
I straighten it with 1 or all of my 4 round brushes: T3 Volume 3. 0 round, T3 Volume 2. 5 round, Scunci 1” round boar bristle, or Olivia Garden ceramic+ionic thermal oval brush. This hair dryer has a big motor which makes it a bit heavier than other dryers, that doesn’t bother me.
Another great feature is how quiet it is especially if you have a child’s hair to dry like myself. Getting my daughter ready for school in the mornings can be crazy around my house. This dryer helps me with both time management and with its quiet engine, she sits still and lets me dry her hair without a fuss.
The function of the dryer is more important but it’s pretty to look at the Tiffany blue shiny chrome finish.
I really like the feel and look of this dryer. I wanted to love it sooo much! I had an older model T3 that was a professional one and I loved that thing. This just doesn’t get hot enough on the low fan setting to use a round brush on it.
I was trying to use it at work and just didn’t cut it! So I brought it home to use on myself and I still don’t like it! Apparently I purchased a final sale item and am unable to return it. I guess it could be a great paper weight.
Create flips and small spirals. – Innovative ceramic detangling pins, detangle, smooth and straighten hair in one step. – Heats up in only 10 seconds and has a universal voltage. – Ceramic plates measure 1/2 wide.
I. Love. This. Dryer. It helps that celeb stylists like it too, but I didn’t notice that until after I bought it. Yes, it’s cute and mint green but that’s not why I bought it. This dryer is powerful, but lightweight.
I have a wrist problem but this doesn’t irritate me— and I do a LOT of blowouts. I use the most narrow attachment that comes with it— it is the right size for the sleekness I want with my hair type. The cool shot on this dryer is actually cold, which I enjoy and use quite a bit.
It’s amazing the overall difference between the blowout I achieve with this vs the blowout I achieve with other products. Also, this dryer has a gripping material on its exterior that keeps me from knocking it off the counter as often.
Expensive, but you can get it on sale at Dermstore sometimes. Worth every penny for someone like me who needs a dryer they can rely on for frequent usage.
Just bought this from dermstore based on good reviews. I was excited to use this last night for the first time. I previously use the Isunami G6 which has a lot of power like Harry Josh. Decided to replace it with Harry Josh since the reviews said that it was lightweight and not loud.
From using it last night, it seemed that Harry Josh was not lightweight at all and is really loud as well. The reason I gave it 2 stars is because it is too pricy compared to what I was using before and it is as loud and heavy.
Also, the Harry Josh is too hot for my fine hair that it burns my scalp. The Izunami G6 professional hair dryer isn’t that hot at all. And honestly, I feel like my hair looks better with Izunami G6. It seem like my hair was a little fried with Harry Josh as it is too hot even on low heat setting.
The cold shot button is so tricky too. It would blow cold air for a few seconds then will blow warm air. I made sure that I was pressing it down the whole time too. It seem like the drying time is also faster with my old hair dryer than Harry Josh.
I really like the look of Harry Josh hair dryer. Seem like very well made and the mint green color is just so easy on the eyes. But anyway, I will try my Izunami tonight and try Harry Josh tomorrow night to see again if Harry Josh is worth keeping or not.
Most likely I will have to return it as it doesn’t seem better than my old one. I suggest this to people who have thick coarse hair as they probably need more heat to dry their hair.

Reviews From Real Customers
After doing a bunch of research, I decided to order this hairdryer because I liked the attachments, and the way it automates the settings. It took some getting used to, and I had to adjust the way I dry my hair so I didn’t burn my scalp, but after I made those adjustments, I’m loving the hairdryer.
I bought the diffuser attachment separately because the set that included the diffuser was on backorder with no idea when it would come back in stock. I primarily use the hairdryer with the diffuser because I have curly hair, so I haven’t tried the others yet.
But, holy smokes, this thing really works! It dries my hair super fast, root to tip, and I haven’t noticed any extra frizz as a result. As I said above, I love that the dryer sets the temperature and speed settings for you based on the attachment you’re using, so you’re not left wondering if you’re using a setting that’s too hot or too slow for the style you’re trying to achieve.
I’ve had it for several weeks and I’m not seeing any issues so far. I only wash my hair twice a week, so there’s less wear and tear on the hairdryer than those who wash every day, so your mileage may vary.
I got this dryer with the concentrator and styling brush attachments about a week ago. I have shoulder length fine straight hair which I normally blow dry and then run a straightener through to smooth it out.
It dries quickly, is fairly quiet and not very heavy so works really well. The styling brush attachment is essentially useless if your hair is not very long in my opinion – very clunky and difficult to use – a round brush and concentrator do a better job although I was hoping it would help better straighten the back of my hair when I blowdry as it can turn out bumpy with a hairdryer alone.
The concentrator is really good – it has both a fine and wide adjustment which works well and is easy to use and to take on/off. Overall, this is a great dryer that dries in a fraction of the time and produces really nice results.
I’ve had people ask if I had just been to the salon after just blowdrying my hair without using a straightener or other hair products after. I’ve paid more for salon quality dryers in the past that have died in a year so I’m hoping this lasts.
The new ghd Helios hairdryer is the lightest and fastest dryer from ghd. It offers the ultimate styling control and an innovative brush-less motor for superior performance. The unique Aeroprecis technology enables an intuitive, precise styling and handling for a smooth finish like fresh from the salon.
The hair also gets 30 % more shine than when it is being air-dried. The strong motor creates in combination with the special ghd nozzle a strong, concentrated air stream with the top speed of 120 km/h and therefore dries the hair at high speed.
Frizz and fly-away hairs are minimized with the innovative ion technology, for a breathtakingly smooth and shiny finish. The tailor-made acoustic technology creates a lower noise level and in combination with the ergonomic design ensures a high styling comfort.
The temperature and speed buttons are placed on the back of the handle and therefore make them easy to reach for left- and right-handed people. The cold shot button also helps to lock in the style, so it lasts the whole day.
The result is the lightest hairdryer from ghd that at the same time delivers fast and powerful results, combined with a beautiful design.
I bought this over two weeks ago as a replacement for my very old (10yrs ) Air hairdryer. I listened to the sales person who said it was the best to have as the Air’s would probably be discontinued soon and the Helios was much better.
Unfortunately I have to disagree. Yes the Helios does dry really quickly, but unless you are are professional and used to speed and tension, I found this just made my hair difficult to style. The moisture was gone.
If I changed the blow speed down, my hair just turned frizzy so it’s kind of all or nothing. It didn’t make my hair any smoother than the Air, probably worse if I’m honest. There was no life or bounce after drying.
Whether this is due to the new motor technology used, I have no idea. The speed switch has to think about changing up or down a level when you’re selecting which speed you want, give it a second – it gets there in the end! So I guess this button is either faulty or just badly made.
I see another review states the same thing. For the extra ££, I definitely do not feel I have bought a better product or a quality product and remain very disappointed. I loved my Air, that was definitely the best dryer I have ever owned.
So much so, I will be putting the Helios in a drawer and forgetting about it. I can’t return it to the store as it’s classed as a ‘personal grooming product’. And I have just placed an order for another GHD Air.
I’ve been needing a hard dryer for some months and have always rated my ghd straightners so thought I’d look into buying myself the hairdryer. Quickly decided that the helios seemed the better option than the other ghd dryer purely from reviews.
I wasn’t disappointed at all in fact I’m so happy. I have medium length hair but it is super thick. In the past it’s normally taken around 30 to 40 minutes to dry my hair and this did it in just over 12 minutes.
Granted I’m pretty basic when it comes to drying my hair, I am not able to use these fancy techniques with brushes etc so you could probably shave some of the time off if you’re a pro at blow drying.
My hair is always soft and so many people have commented on how silky and shiny my hair looks. I don’t find it heavy at all, in fact it’s the lightest dryer I’ve owned so makes it easy on the arms. It has various speed and heat settings.
I tend to dry on the middle heat setting at the lowest speed as it does get a little fluttery with the hair when on the highest ones and I find the higher the heat the more hair breakage I seem to get around the ears and forehead where the hair is thinner and more fragile.
I was shocked at how quiet it is for a dryer too. I use the cold setting just after the heat and this ensures a lovely frizz free smooth finish and has helped shave off around 20 minutes of my straightening time now too.
I can now wear my hair down whenever I want, a task I dreaded doing before this dryer. I purchased the item at full price and I’d say its definitely worth it. Go for it if you’re thinking of investing in a top notch dryer that can help look after your hair.
I purchased the dryer in the white and gold and it is aesthetically pleasing. although it did take me a day to decide which colour I wanted as the plum looks beautiful too.
I bought this blow dryer before Christmas and wished I hadn’t been busy and took the time to take advantage of the no questions asked return policy. I have been a hairdresser for over 30 years and was searching for a lightweight dryer.
I googled articles on professional hair dryers and GHD came up. I pulled the trigger and ordered the limited color, warm pewter, which is beautiful. I love the way the dryer looks yet find it to be heavy, hot and too powerful.
I like to finish my styling on low air flow and find that even on low it is too powerful. I am disappointed with the inability to get at the lint when I clean it. You can open the back of the dryer yet not get to the debris.
If you are looking for a lightweight dryer do not get this one. Again, I am sorry I didn’t return and will live with a 225$ + investment.
First impression: it looks like a satellite dish. It’s way bigger then the cult favorite that rhymes with hack shore bird. This is the titanic of all diffusers. It looks fragile It came in a big box that included the hair dryer, and three diffuser attachments.
1) Goliath bowl diffuser 2) comb diffuser: it helps give volume at the roots 3) regular diffuser that helps straighten the hair. User manual with tips The hair dryer is very soft touch and has this rubberized material.
It’s very light even with the behemoth bowl diffuser. If you have weak wrists it can actually stand on its own, and you can just pour your hair in to it which is a plus. My only concern was that the bowl diffuser itself looks like it will break easily if you accidentally drop it.
But once I had it clipped on to my hair dryer , it clung on tight like an ex lover who refuse to let go. It has a cool setting as well as a low, medium , and high heat setting. Also speed setting. Overall impression: I was actually quite impressed by this.
With no reviews I was hesitant to purchase this, but I’m glad I did. It reduced dry time, made my wavy hair bouncy and really kept the shape. It helped create a nice cast, with the least amount of products I styled my hair with.
I was actually able to put all of my hair in the bowl which is great. Even heat distribution with drying. Reduced frizz. Overall I was very impressed with this dryer, and it produced amazing results.
I haven’t tried the other two diffuser attachments so I can’t comment on that. But still well worth it.
This dryer is amazing. I thought it was a bit pricey but it’s not much different than other salon quality dryers and the diffuser is HUGE but light. It’s about 3x as large as my regular diffuser that I was using and it dries my thick curly hair in 15 or so minutes.
Has several heat and strength settings and cool. It stands on its own so you can use it hands free too. It comes with several attachments, including a pick, which I have no idea how to use to create lift at the roots because the teeth are too close together and way too much air blows through and messes up your curls.
The instruction book does not tell you how to use the pick. I guess they thought it was common sense but I have no clue. I use a regular pick with the diffuser instead and that works for me. I really really love this dryer and can’t say enough good things about it.
I have hated hairdryers for ages and never used them on my curly hair. However, after much research I decided to re-test the amazing new tech that’s out there when it comes to hairdryers. So I bought what was considered the best: the Dyson! Two days later, Curlsmith came out with DeFrizzion and since I love and use all of their products, I decided to give it a go as well.
The Dyson was excellent! My curls stayed in place, no frizz, quick dry, etc. However, the DeFrizzion did the same! I would say as well, my curls did seem a bit more defined and the stretch method worked better than it had with the Dyson.
My hair also felt healthier with the DeFrizzion than with the Dyson. So if you’re on the fence or don’t want to fork over a liver for a hairdryer, I would 100% recommend the DeFrizzion.
