Best Hair Dryer Brush For Fine Hair (2026 Updated)

I purchased in-store because my friend had the Revlon version. She’s got pin straight shoulder length hair though, and I really didn’t trust it. I go to DryBar usually once a week, and the styles will last about 4 days with dry shampoo.

I usually only wash my hair once a week, so it’s something that works for me. I have hard water at home and the salon water makes my hair feel soft and refreshed. My scalp has been increasing its dandruff production with summer though, and I’ve needed to wash 2x week now.

The problem is I’ve never been able to recreate the blowout look at home, and I can’t afford 2 blowouts a week. My hair is naturally curly, and I can style it just fine for curls, but I get really hot with my curls (I work in the medical field so I’m in surgical gown, scrubs, masks, face shield, and a really hot overhead light).

I’ve seen curly heads prefer this one to Revlon, and a girl at DryBar even told me it’s because the Revlon isn’t meant for wet hair, but this brush actually is. She said for the Revlon, I’d have to blow dry, straighten, then use it.

I’m the type of person, if I’m going to spend money on something I’d rather buy “the best” than buy the knockoff and eventually end up buying the better one. Also, this is a round circle brush compared to the Revlon oval and the DryBar oval double shot.

I’ve never used either, this is my 1st dryer brush. I showered, used my DryBar liquid glass shampoo/conditioner because it smoothes my thick cuticles well. A lot of reviews/YouTubers said to not use it on dripping hair.

I did what they typically do at DryBar. I wrung out my hair before twisting it in a microfiber towel. I tied the towel and my hair with a hair tie for about 10 minutes. It was damp but not dripping at all, I was honestly worried it was a little too dry.

I sprayed prep rally detangle/heat protection spray and brushed it with a Tangle Teazer wet brush, sorry AND the drybar heat protection/quick dry serum. I probably could have just done the quick dry serum(2 pumps) but I didn’t think about it until after the spray.

With the quick dry serum and a normal blow dryer, it takes me 40 minutes to dry. Without the serum, we’re looking at an hour. My hair is thick, curly, and to my mid back when straight/styled. A lot of people said to section your hair like you’re curling or straightening it.

Just WOW. I critiqued some YouTubers for flipping their hair different ways, at DryBar they blow dry it one direction (like you would curling/straightening), and it gives a nice half curl/flip at the ends.

I don’t think this brush could do that with my hair specifically. It probably would give nice curls/flip for shorter or straight hair. It would dry large sections 3-5inches across in about a minute. I HAD to use the brush both directions to dry the hair completely.

I noticed my ends would dry before my roots, so I started letting it rest at the roots before dragging it down to the ends. It WILL get caught/stuck on your ends if you try to curl it too far up on the shaft.

I could only flip it at the ends, and this I think is due to how the barrel is round/smaller than the double shot. So with sections, curling it both directions, I eventually turned my head upside down and used it like a hair brush to get my slightly damp scalp dry.

It did the trick! I had my whole head straight & voluminous after just 20 minutes. It had a slight curl on the ends but not what it gave a lot of straight/shorter hair. I sprayed DryBar hot toddy on my hair, heat protection but not a wet spray, dry like hairspray before I went over it with a 2″ barrel curling iron from Kristin Ess.

I notice that a 2″ curling iron gives more of blowout curls than a wand. (I use a Paul Mitchell 1″ flat iron, Paul Mitchell 1″ wand or 1. 25″ Kristen Ess wand to do tighter curls depending on what type of curl I want.

) I wanted more of a body wave than full curls. Did a full blowout and everything in 40 minutes! It looks amazing! For long curly hair, I think you won’t get an immediate blowout from this, and I wanted to rate it 4 stars for myself, but it just got my hair dry so fast I don’t think it deserves anything less than 5 stars.

My hair was smooth and glossy too! The brush DID NOT snag my hair like a YouTuber said it did her hair. I do wonder at how to clean the hair out of it over time though. It’s just a few strands, but the bristles are course and hold onto it pretty good.

I definitely recommend just trying to pull out what you can after each use. I’m THRILLED with being able to get great results on my 1st use. There’s usually a learning curve.

Just replaced my L’ange dryer brush with this DryBar model (my old one had lost most of its bristles after years of use). The Single Shot far exceeded my expectations after only one use. I’m loving the results from the round shape, as opposed to the oval of my previous dryer, as it helps with volume and gives my hair a slight bend that I previously needed an iron to achieve.

My L’ange would get so hot I couldn’t touch my hair for a minute after a couple of passes. It also made my bathroom hotter, and I’d have to let it cool like a curling iron if I was packing for travel.

This DryBar dryer dried my hair faster, never made my hair too hot to touch, my bathroom was noticeably cooler, and the dryer was cool enough to store immediately after use. The DryBar gave my hair body, shine, and the appearance I could only previously achieve with drying and ironing.

So cutting out a step is definitely a pro. For reference: my hair is medium/long in length, fairly fine, and I wear extensions. The resistance is perfect. Enough to achieve the result I was looking for, while being kind to my extensions.

If I was forced to complain about this dryer, it would only be that the handle is slick plastic (the L’ange has a more rubbery silicone handle that is a bit easier to hang on to) so it’s a bit slippery, and it’s taking a minute to figure out the right place to hold on to it.

But for the other wonderful benefits, the handle is definitely not a deal breaker. I’ve only used it once, so time will tell how it holds up. but so far, I’m completely in love. If the price tag is holding you back, Ulta offers Afterpay to take some of the sting out of the higher price.

Get this dryer brush, you won’t be sorry.

This dryer took me a couple tries to find the best way to use it on my hair, but now that I’ve got a routine, it’s the best looking blowouts I’ve ever done at home. I’ve been using this for about 6 months now, and the biggest thing I’ve learned is that you should NOT use it on very wet hair.

If you squeeze a lock and water drips off, it is too soon to start drying. I use an Aquis wrap right out of the shower, which stays on at least 10 minutes, and then remove that and blot any additional water out with a dry t-shirt.

The best products I’ve used with this dryer are the Olaplex No. 6 leave-in cream and the No. 7 bonding oil. I use a blueberry-sized dollop of No. 6 and 5 or 6 drops of No. 7, rub those together in my hands, then work through my hair, starting from the ends.

I brush my hair through and let it air dry maybe another 10 minutes or so while I do other things to get ready. I give such a detailed description just to show that depending on how long your hair retains water, you should give it a healthy amount of time to air dry before using this dryer.

This has probably been good for my hair anyways, since it’s easier to damage the more wet it still is. I have maybe 2B-2C curls naturally, but I’m able to dry my hair straight just using this. It is the SOFTEST my hair has ever felt, and better than any blowout I’ve done at home with a dryer and a roundbrush.

I’ve seen people complain about it being heavy/their arms getting tired, but I don’t think it’s any different than a standard blow dryer in terms of weight. This is the only dryer I use on my hair now.

I loved this blow dry brush! This was my first time ever using one. I used about 5-6 passes per section of hair and my hair came out smooth and shiny. The only issue I had was using the on and off switch i had to make sure my hands were cleaned off with any products from my heat protector.

I wish it had buttons instead. Other than that I loved how simple it is to use to achieve the beautiful bouncy blowout I created. I got so many “Is that your real hair?” Questions.

I got this foxybae and I would give this 3 out of 5 star. First I like this a lot because its beautiful and rosegold color. It is very lightweight which is impressive and what every Lady needs is a lightweight brush.

The wire doesn’t get you tangled which is a bonus. It has 3 settings and which is cool, low and high heat and back to 0. I have a long hair and very thick hair so this works for me. The brush is very very big and theres only one brush inside and it makes your hair shiny.

I love that this is brush and dryer all in one but for me this is not really what I’m looking for because it doesn’t dry my hair quick. My hair is very very thick and It needs a good blower. It takes time drying my hair and I can’t really style my hair that much of a cute curls.

Price wise this is not really what I am looking for a brush and dryer at the same time. I would give this 3 out of 5.

I was super excited to try this after I bought it as an add on to my fabfitfun box. The tool itself looks nice and seems sturdy. I have very fine hair that is somewhat thin and this is just not it for me.

It dried my hair fairly quickly but when I was done, I saw all the hair it pulled out that was stuck in the brush. This is super disappointing but may be due to my own hair rather than the product, I can’t say for sure.

I was super careful not to pull to much when using it too. I achieve better lift and volume with a barrel brush and blow dryer and don’t lose nearly as much hair.

I received this dryer brush in my FabFitFun box and was so anxious to try it out. My hair is wavy, mid-back length. I used this on my hair after 1st letting a microfiber towel absorb a lot of the moisture as I applied makeup.

Then I sectioned my hair off (top layer, bottom layer) and blow dried it one section at a time. Great results! Smooth, zero tangling, no burning or breakage, and the smoothness lasted for 4 days until I washed my hair again.

I love this tool and how it works for me, and plan to continue using it.

This is such a unique multi tool, I’ve never used anything like it! I love that it does the work of two products, a heated straightening brush and a blow drying straightener. You can use either feature or a combination of both, depending on the look you want.

It’s not heavier than other straightening dryers, plus it does such a great job at effectively drying and straightening, so even though I have a ton of curly/wavy hair, it’s not a huge ordeal to use this and cuts my styling time down by an hour almost.

I have a few things I don’t like. First, because the heating brush is more towards the center of the device due to the design, that you can’t get really close to the roots and you may need to go back over your roots with a flat iron to ensure that it is really straight.

However, in a pinch, this brush is perfect for a sleek, blown-out look. Second, you can’t control the temperature, it’s set at 365* F if I’m not mistaken. For people who have coarser hair like me, that means more passes with the brush which can actually end up being more damaging if you’re not careful.

For that reason, I think I would mostly use this for convenience rather than regularly, because I like a little more discretion over the temps I use on my hair.

I have type 4 hair that’s super curly/coily. I blow my hair out twice a month and then twist it as I’ve found stretching it out helps with manageability and cuts down on single strand knots and tangles.

I don’t need it to be super straight, just stretched so I can twist or braid it. I’ve been using the Revlon blow dryer brush and it gets the job done, but I’ve been on the lookout for a similar tool that doesn’t have the balls on the end.

I also wanted something a little more high end hoping it would be gentler on my hair. When I saw this tool I ordered it immediately because it looked to be exactly what I’d been searching for. Unfortunately it did not work for me.

I initially tried it on damp hair that had been detangled and split into sections and it just made my hair super puffy. I had to switch back to my Revlon dryer to blow my hair out. Once I was done, I decided to try the Amika again and it did help to smooth my hair more, but I can’t justify keeping it to “smooth” my hair after my Revlon has already done the heavy duty work.

I took a look at the Amika website and it’s actually not recommended for type 4 hair which is a bummer. I hope they develop a similar brush for coarse kinky hair because their round brush doesn’t work for me either.

This 2 in 1 has transformed my lifeless hair into soft, shiny and bouncy hair! Unlike how I was taught, I start at the crown of my head and work my way down and the results are simply amazing. I am a licensed hairdresser so I do have some skill but I think that anyone would get awesome results.

I recommend watching some of the online tutorials for beginners. I love this product so much that I give it as gifts now. There may be a learning curve for some, but dont give up, you won’t be disappointed.

First time I used this was today. Dried my hair the best from the outside but when I tried do the same from inside the end of the tool barely touched my neck for a second and the skin of my neck was burned badly.

I never before gave a very bad review because I respect the opinion of other consumers but i believe this is actually a dangerous product. Five hours later, the burn still hurts and skin has peeled. I do not recommend this purchase.

My wife was looking at dryers that were in the $150 range. She came across this one and did a little research. She found the ratings almost identical to the other ones she was considering. The shipping was very fast.

This dryer is much faster than her old one and seems to be far more gentle on her hair. she loves it.

The attachments for this brush that are available take it from a good hair tool to a great one, I really love that I can make it into a straightening blowout, curling blowout, diffuser, and hair dryer in one.

So much better than the revlon one step and its siblings, much lower heat for less damage, and cheaper! I have fine, long, wavy hair that I struggle to get body into. I typically will use this brush on the lowest heat setting on everyday use, while for fancier days I will use it with high heat and velcro rollers.

For a curled look, I reccomend using the smaller brush that you can buy separately, using tension on each piece of hair, and then roll into a velcro roller. If you do this around your head, it gives some really nice body and wave to your hair.

I also have wavy hair, and I have used the diffuser successfully in the past. The only qualms I have with this is that the power of the air coming from it isn’t super high, so it can take a long time to dry as a hairdryer, I think of it more as a hair tool for once my hair is almost dry.

The most glaring issue is that the black paint flakes off, as I’m sure some reviewers have noted. It’s not a deal breaker for me but might be for you! Overall this makes me feel like I own a Dyson air wrap for a lot lot less, and I love using it since I hate using actual hot tools that can burn me.

I’ve got alot to compare it to. Lol I’ve tried about 5 different hot air brushes and just a week ago found my number #1 (T3). The Knot Dr. ‘s major plus, was that it didn’t get too hot. When I say hot, I mean damage to your hair within first couple of minutes HOT.

I always start out with my hair 80% dry to begin with, but several got uncomfortable hot almost immediately, they were out unfortunately because I liked other things about them. But, Conairs Knot Dr.

did NOT get too hot (+)!! 😊, It also was pretty lightweight which was nice, because I have pretty long hair and my arms get tired. Lol Unfortunately, that is where the pro’s end, for me. It just felt really cheaply made and didn’t really have any power to get the job done.

I also think that purple tail feather looking attachment is a complete waste of space. ridiculous. Just looks like you’re getting an attachment bonus for your $ but it’s a total gimmick. I am still so excited that the airbrush was invented for those of us challenged at giving ourselves an at home blowout.

I literally, without fail, will get my huge round brush stuck in my hair EVERYtime!! 😡 But this one was a fail for me, although it may work just fine for someone else. I hope this helped someone out.

I got this Volumizer because my blow dryer went kaput, and I wanted a dryer that wouldn’t make me look like I had gone out in a wind storm. This volumizer definitely works! I felt like it made my hair look thicker but at the same time smooth after I washed.

I did towel dry my hair before I used it, as suggested in the booklet. It didn’t dry my hair any faster than a regular dryer, so if your concern is speed, you would need something else. However, it doesn’t do too bad if you want to smooth your hair as you colonize.

I like the fact that you can remove the brush attachment to clean and I used it briefly without to dry my hair some at the roots before I did the rest. The temp settings are nice too, if you don’t want high heat or you have thinner hair, in which lower heat is probably better, and the cool setting is also nice if you don’t need heat.

I used the plastic sleeve to cover the brush part back after it cooled to protect it until next time. Overall, a great product, and affordable.

I’m terrible at doing girly things, especially hair. I have long, very thick, wavy hair and I just put it in a ponytail or bun because I am 1) lazy and 2) really ineffective at making it look nice. I rely on reviews and was skeptical about buying this tool, but I’m so happy I did and figured I should write a review for anyone out there like me.

When I used this, my hair was damp after a shower and had no products in it. I had washed and conditioned my hair in the shower and that’s it. I didn’t even bother brushing it before using this thing, (again, super lazy).

I could never figure out the whole blow dryer with round brush technique and always ended up with a poofy frizzy mess when I tried blow drying. but this?!?! OMG. Super easy. Took me 10 mins on medium, just this tool and nothing else.

No extra brush, sprays, oils. nothing. Just this and my hair looks like I just came from the salon: smooth and with a little swoopy curve at the ends. Love it. Worth every penny. Its idiot proof and works great.

I had no issues with the brush piece detaching like other reviews mentioned. The size is perfect, totally manageable and not too heavy or bulky. BUY THIS TOOL.

I have fine, thin hair that has a slight wave to it – and not in a cute way, but rather in a funky, looks like I just got out of bed way 🙂 I usually use a hair straightener when I am getting ready to go somewhere nice, but the straighteners don’t do enough to give me the volume I crave.

Here are my IBH pros and cons: Pros: – My hair is so smooth after, which makes it worth keeping for that alone. – My hair looks better after than after just blowdrying. it doesn’t straighten (see cons!) but my waves look neater and there’s no frizz.

Cons (I have thick, wavy, past-shoulder hair, what might be cons for me may not apply to you): – Takes forever when starting from wet hair. Blowdrying and straightening with two different tools would be faster.

– This is obvious, but if you shed it’s going to get in the bristles, making maintenance of the tool more involved than traditional blowdrying. – On me it didn’t straighten, and I don’t even really have that stubborn of a wave.

If I wanted straight hair, I’d still have to use an iron after this. – Probably my biggest con: it’s hard to hold. The handle is really wide even at the narrowest part, and because it takes 15 minutes to use, it ends up feeling strained by the end.

I’ve never had that problem with a hot tool. Overall: I like the IBH and I think it’s worth getting for being a less harsh way to dry hair faster than air drying. It likely won’t replace your other hot tools, but if you’re just looking for something new to play with it’s a good option.

I have 3B/3C curls and this dryer brush worked SO well (and quickly) on natural hair! I had bought this and the barrel brush version, both from revlon. This one won’t get your hair as straight as the barrel brush version, but I don’t see it as a negative because (1) paddle brushes aren’t meant to blow hair out bone straight and (2) it’s much quicker.

The barrel brush version requires perfectly detangled hair to get through even the smallest sections, so I preferred the paddle brush version anyway. So long as your hair is at least slightly detangled, it quickly brushes through and blows out your hair.

You can also use large sections with ease! I did half my head in 5 mins or less when my hair was down to my chest. The only reason I didn’t keep this product is that I buzzed my hair off about a week after purchase.

Otherwise, would’ve kept forever!.

I have fine, thin hair a few cowlicks. My hair wants to go it’s own way and do it’s own thing pretty often! I’ve often thought that if I could get it dried in the right place and direction that it would have a little memory to stay there.

I am not so great with a blow dryer and brush and just couldn’t get myself to get better at it. But this little gem takes care of it all in one! This has made it so easy to keep my hair from going to haywire.

I personally prefer the smaller brush attachment to address the shorter hair on the top of my head and around my face. I sometimes use the flat brush attachment if I want to dry my hair straight, instead of leaving my natural waves in there.

This is great. It’s so nice to have it all in one dryer. You get a 4 in 1 dryer. I like that I can use one hot air brush with all these different attachments. I use the curling one the most. I have played with them all and they are great.

Its light weight and so easy to attach the others to it. I like the volume my hair gets from it. You even get gloves with it. They are very durable. The attachments are made from good quality materials.

this heats quick and i like that. the cord rotates so you dont have to worry about the cord rolling up on you. This is dryer brush is well worth the money. I’m just amazed at this. This comes boxed so nice you can give as a gift.

First off, let me say this. I’ve been in the hair industry for almost 25 yrs. in that time, I’ve been through A LOT of different blow dryers over the years. But hands down, the Vision blow dryer blew all the other dryers out of the water! (Pun intended) I really love the Vision blow dryer! On high, it dries the hair super fast which is great.

If I had to say one negative thing about it, it would be the high setting being as loud and strong as it is. I tell my clients it’ll be like we’re going through a wind tunnel for a few min! It’s difficult to carry on a conversation with the client on this setting.

A great way to combat this I found, is to use the high setting in the beginning of the blow dry process to get the majority of the water out of the hair. This takes on average 5 min on med length hair.

Then I blow on low setting for the rest of the time. High tends to be extremely loud and extremely powerful. So it can be challenging to try to control the hair with a round brush in this stage. But I found the low setting is comparable to my previous blow dryers high setting, so it still works great.

I also love that I have complete control over the temperature controls. Even on the high setting, I can turn the heat off if I want. Once I adjusted my expectations about the noise volume, I have loved this dryer! It’s also extremely light weight and easy to handle.

It easily accommodates many different ways of holding it. I haven’t had any issues with the buttons being where they are as some reviews mention. I find it easy to change my grip where necessary. I’m pretty sure this is the last dryer I’ll ever own!.

This tool is a major surprise. It actually works incredibly well. I work with many clients with long frizzy curly hair. Using the Pro Results 3-in-1 Blow Dry Hot Brush does an incredible job from wet to straight in a fraction of the time it would take using blow-dryer, brush and flat iron.

The Blow Dry Hot Brush cuts the drying time in half, eliminated the need for a straight iron and took us right to the curling with a hot iron. We will be using them in our Studio and retailing for Clients.
