I bought this DVD as a gift for a friend just starting to play guitar. Kieth Wyatt is a great guitar teacher, already have several other books and media, so I knew this DVD would be a good bet for anyone beginning.

I watched most of the DVD before I gave her the gift and was impressed by what I saw. Just wish this DVD was around when I started playing guitar,(1969)it would have increased my guitar learning process by at least 2 years, no kidding! I play it on my player and try to follow it. Unfortunately ( I don’t know if it is because of my player or the DVD) it is very difficult to move to chapters and pause and continue when trying to play along with it.

Good instruction, but very time consuming and frustrating due to the playing controls of the disk. Many times I must start from the beginning then try to figure out how to get to the chapter I want.

The DVD is in good quality overall but, the content of the DVD is very limited on information and for a beginner on acoustic guitar needs more on-hand instructing such why you do thing that way. The instructor beging playing the fundamental of acoustic guitar and making chords with his finger but, it goes so fast that its needs to display in another way so the viewer be able to capture where is the finger are place in slow motion.

Then consider the Infomercial where he pulls a complete beginner (never touched a Guitar before)up on stage and in a few seconds he’s playing away. Now, why is it that this person (who’s never touched a guitar before) is playing away in a few seconds, while our reviewing beginners are struggling to catch on.

Sorry, I’ve nothing nice to say about the guys whole system and seriously save yourself some cash and get a qualified teacher and some real study materials that focus on things you need to know, such as How to Practice etc.

I had gotten this course for my son’s 17th birthday, along with a guitar that he had picked out locally. He had not received any formal training and we were very apprehensive about how he was going to do.

In the short time that we have had this program it has become very obvious that the course was aimed at those who don’t know how to play and want to play. The course is incredible! I cannot say enough good about it.

When my son plays it sounds like a guitar and not like a two year old beating on it. He has rythum, smooth transsions between cords and an incredible sense of pride which you can hear when he is playing.

Item disappointingly did not contain dvd and had pencil/pen marks throughout the book. Not good value for second hand, would have been better off purchasing new.

I bought this book for my great granddaughter (7) and it is ideal as a children’s tutor, it starts at a very basic level and progresses steadily through to a level where a child can take on a more serious study.

At the price there is nothing to lose, it also includes a CD which aids the learning process.

I enjoyed this book along with my 9 year old. The tunes are very catchy but the CD moves very quickly between tracks, so hard to keep up!

Beginners?? a bit too complicated for a 12 year old or even me with a long music history and background. Disappointed.

I was disappointed to find that my set did not in fact include a CD, so I can’t actually hear the tracks to play along to. I don’t know how this was missing as the stuff, (the book and dvd), came together wrapped in plastic.

It’s not like it got lost in the store or something.

I purchased the book, which included a CD guide for my brother asa gift. He learned how to read music and play cords on his acoustic guitar I brought him. It was good intro for a beginner, not intimidating at all according.

Don’t let the Dummie name put you off at all. It breaks the task of learning down into doable steps that lets you learn at your pace. I have a few of the Dummie books and finds them worth the cost.

This was totally worth it… my son was doing a very nice job of playing a few chords and switching between them within a couple of hours. Works great, thanks for a great product at a good price!

The guitars are crap mand teh cd and ook make no sense. you would do better learning from a homeless man on the edge of a bridge about to commit suicide. but the case is pretty cool..

The method used to set out the learning is fairly straight forward. Begins with tune with two strings (high E and B), the adds tunes with 3 strings (adds G) then 4, 5 and 6. Later in the book it adds sharps and flats and more complicated tunes.

Only draw back is the online learning, I found it difficult to follow the on-line music play along lessons. The music scrolls left to right then and to the start on the left hand side. I had trouble when it restarted on the left.

Overcame this be using the book to follow the notes while listening to the play along. Would recommend buying the book 1 supplement as well, gives more tunes to play and more opportunity to prefect the lessons.

A very good introduction and a well thought out step by step guide on beginning to play a guitar. A reliable teaching method for any level in guitar playing. Highly recommended.
