20 Best Grub Killer For Moles (2023 Updated)

Works outstanding, a friend told me about them, and now I tell all my friends about them. Now they tell their friend and so on. It is getting hard now to find them in stock! To think all those years I wasted so much time and money on the traps with some to little success.

I break the worms in half, poke a hole with a small stick, in the fresh tunnels every 6-10 feet, put in half a worm per hole, and pinch the hole shut. Bam! the moles disappear. depending on their numbers a few applications may be required but I have had my yard mole free for 5 years or so (my yard is 1.

25 acres backing up to the woods and two neighbors that do not trap moles). I would strongly recommend. I also wear clean rubber gloves when handling worms, they are poison and I like to prevent any human scent on the worm baits.

Needed these for a mole problem obviously. Should have believed some of the previous reviews on here! I had identified active trails, put on a glove, (thankfully) and opened a inner package and went to get the “worm” out of the tray.

The “worm” was nothing but goo. The package was not hot, this was just totally unusable! Returned to the store for full credit.

These worms work the best of everything I have tried. I have tried pellets from two different stores and had no luck. But these if you get enough because my lawn is an acre. So next year I will be ready with early treatment and one more note don’t try breaking worms in half to go farther it simply doesn’t work.

Anyone who says this product didn’t work either doesn’t have grubs or applied it wrong. I had an infestation that was killing my lawn. I applied this product as directed and the next day there were over 300 dead/dying grubs.

This doesn’t include the ones the birds ate. (I am a little concerned that the hawks were eating them after they were poisoned) I can’t find any information on the safety to birds.

Bayer Advanced 24 Hour Grub Killer Plus, Granules saved our yard. This not only kills grubs but a long list of other insects including ticks. We apply in the spring and have had good results with it being effective through the summer months as well.

We do have pets so we do the yard in front wait a few days and water well then do the same in the back yard. We don’t want insecticide on paws than might harm our pets. Also don’t use if run off will go into a water source or lake.

Used twice and still no change. Did not work at all and I followed the instructions completely. Used the 2nd treatment within a few weeks of the 1st just to make sure something did not go wrong and still nothing.

My Yard & Plants were covered with Japanese Beetles in 2021 to the House I just moved into. 2022 Not sure what approach to take, I bought a Insect/Grub killer then realized it worked fast & ended fast (1 mo maybe 2?) & sprayed the Shrubs, bushes and Box roses with Bayer Japanese Beetle Insect Killer (it works), That will last for 14 days.

in Early June I applied the Grub X. And so far the numbers seemed to be reduced by 90%. But it’s only June 30 I might have to update this in July. In 2023 there will be an all out war on the beetles.

I recommend applying in early April / late March then Re- Apply in Early June to have some over lapping of applications to saturate the soil with GrubX Killer. And Treat the Shrubs, bushes, roses etc.

Heck, apply again in August for any residual beetles that may have lived.

When calling in to see the cut off for what they consider “early summer, for use of grub ex I was referred to my local garden center. For ratio for use by square footage I was asked how I will be spreading it and I answered manually since just for a small garden.

I was referred to using a spreader. Garden is about 2‘ x 8‘ lol. All that took 11 minutes mostly on hold. Still no answers.

I have used an insecticide with my garden hose, but not sure how effective it is with reaching “grubs”. So, I purchased GrubEx, hoping it does it’s job and penetrates deep into the soil to get those very pesty little buggers.

I applied GrubEx in April and May, will again in August and September 2020, when they begin feeding on the roots of my grass. In between, if I see those destructive, annoying creatures on my Crape Myrtle trees and flowers, I use Backyard Spray (using my hose).

I did not see the huge infestation or Japanese Beetles in 2020 that I saw in 2019, before I started treating for grubs. So, I conclude that it is effective to treat for them. I will know in Spring of 2021 how well GrubEx really works.

I applied this product twice this summer and each time it appeared to fail. Of course, the goal was to reduce or eliminate moles by eliminating their food, the grubs. I continue to have a major mole problem so it is my view that this product does not work.

Yesterday I went to another store and bought a grub killer from a different manufacturer, time will tell on that one. I’d like to give this product a rating below zero but the system does not allow it.

Oh the moles and the hills they dig to find grubs. until we put our yearly dose of Bayer grub killer down! I know the grubs are gone because the moles head to the neighbor’s yard. No problem with my dogs in the lawn-just carefully follow directions and don’t forget the flower beds!.

I use this on my landscape beds and in my lawn. Very easy to use and is very effective. A good value. I would like to see this in product offered in a shaker container.  I would recommend this product to other home on owners in Gardners.

After purchasing Sweeney’s Complete Poison Mole Worms, I followed the instructions exactly as they were given on the container. It took about four days before I began to notice a decline in the mole mounds that made my yard look like a mine field.

I have tried for a year and a half to conquer these annoying rascals. My neighbor who has lived next door for 40 plus years said many have tried and many have failed to rid the yard of them. He is now exclaiming I have landed on a winner.

I will be purchasing more of Sweeney’s Mole Poison as new moles may attempt to move in but I now have the product that will eliminate them. I suggest following the instructions carefully as moles are sensitive to any human scent and interference to their tunnels.

Rampant mole activity began in my yard around mid-April this year, 2017. I had used another brand of poison mole worms, Talparid, in past years with fairly good results. Sweeny’s mole worms are less expensive, so I bought two packages and placed them in the mole tunnels.

They seem softer and stickier than talparid. Dirt sticks to them as you try to place them in the tunnels. I was disappointed in the results. It didn’t seem to curb the mole activity at all. It may be I have more moles than previous years? They are making a mess of my yard and flower beds.

Also tried moth balls. No luck. I wrote to Sweeny’s and asked them how long the worms last in the ground before they melt or disintegrate, but did not get a response. Will try Talparid again.

I used to employ traps for moles, and I like them better. But, the kind I used were outlawed in the US. Mole worms work if you use enough of them. With a trap, you know instantly when you killed a mole.

With poison worms, you only find out when you don’t see new mole hills popping up. It doesn’t provide the satisfaction of retrieving a dead mole that’s been destroying the yard. A trap killed many moles.

It takes about 10 poison worm plantings to temporarily stop mole activity.

Let me tell you I have tried everything on the market between poisons, home remedies, traps… You name it! And to no aggravating avail, nothing has ever worked for me. I struggle with a huge mole and gopher and squirrel issue in my garden every single year.

I plant a vegetable garden, and they totally every single time destroy it. I put way too much labor and work, let alone money into my gardenTo just have it destroyed like that. I mean I have literally the last two years gotten zero vegetables out of my garden I mean nothing.

When I planted my vegetables, half of them didn’t even come up out of the ground they were eating before then and what did come up out of the ground growing they ate before the vegetables even grew!! I was so upset about that.

A friend of mine told me about this gooher gasserproduct right here.  so I thought after everything I’ve already tried what could I lose and I went out and bought it. I was completely surprised it only cost me less than $20.

So that totally blew my mind that it was so affordably low-cost. I started wondering if it was truly going to work being that it was that cheaply priced. But I went home and I tried it, and within 2 to 3 weeks at the very least, all and I do mean all rodents were totally and completely gone.

Each day I saw less and less evidence of them in my yard. Let alone near Mei Garden. I have been a happy return buying customer of this product for the last three years!! And all three years it still works, I have absolutely no rodent whatsoever issue in my entire yard, not just near my garden.

Which is so nice let me tell you that. I just purchased this product here. Once a year, put it out once. And I’m done. That’s it. Super easy, what more could you want. So if you need to get rid of pets or rodents in your garden or yard, and you need a low affordable costing product that will truly honestly work.

That is not a lot of work for yourself to do or that you constantly have to put out more than once…… WellLook no further folks! Because you have found it. Please take my word on this. If you have this issue, save yourself the trouble and headaches, just go out and buy this product right here.

Don’t go buy traps don’t try any home remedies, don’t buy any other poisons because you will be wasting your money and time!! I personally will guarantee that this product works. You can contact me if it doesn’t.

Let me tell you, anyone who tells you animals can’t be vindictive are either LYING or they never met Judus (yea, we named him Judus, you will see why). So, after my husband I had moved to Ohio, we had purchased our first home, and the first thing I wanted to do was landscape the heck out of this old 1970s clunker.

So, after spending the spring getting the ground prepped and ready, and waiting out til the last frost was safely over, I then immediately slammed into action. It was a sight even the most hyper-focused.

Well, my vigor turned to vinegar about as quickly as that morning cup of coffee hits the lower Chambers. (Day 1) One morning I woke up to holes, weird holes. Not a lot, just a few, but spread out threw my mulch.

At this point I’m irritated, but had no idea what was happening. Moreover, I had no idea I had the beginnings of a gopher problem. I just recovered the holes and figured it was a cat/dog/raccoon/spider monkey/IDFK, but what I do know is a ******* gopher NEVER crossed my mind.

whatever. (Day 2) I upset the creature(s). Not only were the original holes back, there was a few smaller ones scattered about. Irritation building, but I saw the humor in it, chuckled a little bit, covered the hole (all of them) and put decorative stepping stones on top of them.

All the while saying to myself, dig those whole again MFs! Jinx 🤬🤡. (Day 3) The battle began with vengeance, furry, spite, vindictiveness, from all parties. My back yard was turning into a warzone, one that riveled trench warfare on the Western Front in WWI.

It was straight out of Dante’s Inferno. This cycle went on for days so long in fact that all my spring tilling and prepping efforts were destroyed. My husband and I or my Friend and I would camp out secretly to try and catch this domestic terrorist, but Judus.

He was a master of evading detection. Now, you’re probably wondering, “Why not call an exterminator”. Well, believe it or not, I love animals, even this jerk, more than a silly garden. (Day13) That is, until my husband tracked several tunnels that went under our foundation looped around on the other side and back under the foundation to his main tunneling system.

I’m serious when I say there was no reason for these tunnels (vindictiveness). Hey, I get it, animals don’t carry complex emotions. well Judus is the exception. So, we bought this product, and it was OVERLY EFFECTIVE which was my biggest fear to begin with.

It does warn you on the box that it will kill all those animals listed if it comes near the gas; sadly they were REALLY accurate, so take this seriously. But we had to use the whole lot of them because Judus was not going down without a fight, but after a few attempts he did.

RIP Judus, you gave it your all. In essence, this works well, but be cautious and read the boxes information. P. S. I’ll upload pics when I receive the new products, this review is based of prior purchase.

I’ve used similar products over the years, along with mechanical traps and poison bait. With the competing brand of gopher gasser, they can typically be heard pushing gas into the burrow, but not with this brand.

I waited a while and dug it up, and the first indication of trouble was that the cartridge was cool to the touch. In short the fuse burned down to the end and failed to light the propellant. Breaking open the cartridge confirmed that none of the propellant was burned.

ALL 6 units did the same thing, where the clay plug doesn’t have a hole extend all the way through, so the propellant never gets lit. The reason I’m bothering to post this is twofold: 1. 99% of users would never know, lighting the fuse, putting it in the hole and burying it, thinking it actually did something.

Nope. 2. I wrote the company, giving them a chance to save face – no response, okay, so I’m sharing with you all. Do yourself a favor and dig up one a few minutes after you set it off to confirm. If it has the same problem, return them all – it’s the only thing that’ll get their attention, lost sales.

This the only thing I’ve found that kills moles every time it is placed in the tunnel. Proper location is key but not hard. Poke a hole in the fresh tunnel where you think the mole will travel that night.

Use a pencil-like tool. Carefully poke the worm down the hole and into the tunnel. Close the hole lightly with a dirt clod. The mole will eat the bait that night and be dead in the morning. I have been using this on my acreage for many years.

Has worked every time I used it. I think that 2 dollars per bait is very expensive. Since it works so well I suppose it is cheaper than the cost of repairing my grass. Those moles used to do serious damage to my yard but not any more.

Easy and effective if you follow directions and identify active mole runs. After making a 1/2 inch diameter hole in a likely run, I use orange flags to mark location. Important to check back within 2 days.

If hole has been filled in, place worm and cover up the hole. Start in early spring and continue as needed.

We were invaded by moles last fall. Our new lawn service used Talpirid starting this spring, and it appears to be working. We have a wooded lot, so mole invasion continues, but the odds are now in our favor.

I bought Talpirid to use in my flower beds. Yes, it melted in shipping, but I easily and very quickly reformed them in my oven at 170 degrees. Remember to use plastic gloves when breaking up the pieces and line your cookie sheet with aluminum foil.

I had spent over 100 dollars on other baits and traps with little to no success. I purchased this product and followed the easy directions and it has worked every time. I am a very satisified customer and would highly recommend the product to anyone having problems with moles.

Seems to be the only chance of helping to reduce the mole population in my lawn. Problem is neighbors do not use so have to constantly be on watch

Living next door to a Nature Park, Every year we have an abundance of Moles that venture into our yard. This has been ongoing the day we moved here. We have tried almost everything except for calling in a professional.

I seen great reviews on the Tomcat Mole Killer and also heard from some neighbors that this stuff actually works. I needed something that worked almost instantly or easily without having to do much work.

After reading directions for this product I was a little overwhelmed since you have to track the Moles direction in the yard. Mapping out where their tunnels are, where they are making mounds by marking with some kind of item showing their paths.

This process can take a week or more depending on the Moles and where they decide to burrow in your yard. There is only 5 gummy worms in each package so you have to be cautious with trial and error or your left with a worm in the ground that may not get eaten.

Over the month I manage to figure out their “trails” underground and started placing 1 gummy where it needed to go. Let me state that having a yard filled with Moles tears up your grass leaving you with pretty much dirt patches so catching these critters was a must.

I noticed over the course of this month I didn’t have any more trails or mounds in my yard. So with that being said, This product does work until you have another round of Moles making their way into your yard once again.

I gave this product 4 stars since this was more of a job and not quite as easy to use like other products. Will I purchase these, probably not since I have a bigger problem with Moles than most do. If you have a Mole that appears here and there and you have spare time to watch their progress in your yard then yes I would recommend Tomcat to you.

Success two years in a row now for seasonal pacific northwest moles. Very important to find the main run, not an exploratory one. Cut them in half to get double your product with increased chances of success.

Use a long prod to find a give in the soil and it should drop about 3-4 inches when a tunnel is found. Place the worm down your prod hole and cover with a small rock as stated on the box. It seems like adding peanut butter to them increases the scent and likelihood that they’ll eat it.

I use them along with Trapline mole traps (also on eBay). Thanks to TomCat for preventing additional yard damage.

I live in the country and we have almost 3 acres of land. The moles have had a field day this year in our yard. I have tried just about everything to get rid of them or deter them from our yard but nothing has worked until now.

Tomcat Mole Killer works. How do I know for sure it works? Good question, but I know because after using this product I no longer have any new tunnels in my yard. That is proof enough for me! I am thrilled to no longer have these huge mounds (tunnels) in my yard.

Just walking in my yard was a hazard because the tunnels would make the yard so soft to the point it would give away when anyone walks across it. This product is so easy to us! I just followed the directions and I also read some great tips others have given in reviews that helped me immensely.

I ended up cutting my worms in half to increase the amount of product I could place in my yard tunnels. I have so many in my yard I needed more worms so this solved that problem. I highly recommend this product for anyone who has a mole problem and hasn’t been able to get rid of them.

I’m changing my review regarding this poison. About 2 weeks after using the poison i saw a rat dying in the kitchen. It was very drowsy and almost collapsing to death. After that incident, the rat activity in my kitchen almost disappeared.

I recommend this poison for warfarin-resistant strains of rat and mice specially at NYC.

I needed treatment for an invasion of pine voles. Other products failed. Resorted to zinc phosphide for a quick death. Lost too many shrubs. Placed 6″ in the ground with a screwdriver using the provided scoop amount, at 4 key holes.

Runs are collapsing, mushy spots are disappearing. Believe I have won the battle. Ordered another jar, in case. Goes a long way.

All gopher activity is GONE in my yard. I used product in all active gopher holes, then covered them. I haven’t seen any new holes or any activity in my front or back yard since 1st application. I had over 50 gopher holes, easily.

These peanuts are very easy to use and surprisingly very effective. I had 3 tunnels in my yard and I dug about 4 inches and placed the peanuts in each hole and even though you have to keep at it for about 2 weeks, you will notice the moles will disappear and your yard will be tunnel free.

I do recommend this product. I never experienced gophers or moles before until this year for some reason and never really knew what to do about them until now. This product is really good for this problem area – and I am very passionate about my yard.

If anyone has livestock or horses, I would think this would be the way to go but you may want to check on that before doing so. I do not think we have gopher where I live but we do have moles, but I don’t have them in my yard anymore! I have told my neighbors about this and they actually went the next day and purchased some and can tell a difference as well.

You will not be dismayed with this as long as you do it for about 2 weeks. If not, then you might as well not even bother with it.

Inexpensive but effective product. Usually it takes about three days before I see results, this was over night, no more holes. They say to use the point to puncture the tunnel and deposit it but itsI I have 2 1/2 acres so I need all the help I can get with these darn gophers.

They say to use the point to puncture the tunnel then pour it down the hole, my soil is too hard for that. I just found an open hole poured it in and then covered the hole with a brick. I’ll probably order the stuff by the case.

Purchased this product after trying pellet type poisons that didn’t work. Within 2 days of placing the poison in one run I found my first dead mole. Narly looking thing! I have an acre that has been completey run over by moles but since they are solitary critters I probably only have a couple.

While I was dealing with dead mole #1 I could see another mole digging a run as the grass turf was rising. Placed worms in that run and have seen no current damage since. so I beleive that one is dead too and I just haven’t found it.

Seriously if follow the directions you can save your lawn. Great producty. I would highly reccomend.

I am so glad l I tried MOTOMCO mole killer worms on the recommendation of a fruit club friend. They have been saving me time, energy and frustration this year. One baiting has been nearly always affective in keeping a very large area mole free.

I have a huge problem with Japanese Beetle grub because I’m opposed to broad spectrum grub killers killing beneficial insects. I bought some of this product in the spring, and decided to run a little test before applying it to the lawn.

As I was doing my edging I saw a few grubs. I put some dirt in my wheelbarrow and when I came across a grub I put it in the ‘barrow and sprinkled granules of the btg on it. In fact, I liked this idea so much I spent a few hours grub hunting (very successful) I had been keeping the wheelbarrow in a garage, out of the sun, under cool conditions and not allowed to dry out.

The grubs died after 2 or 3 days. I found about 5 dried up grubs, the rest must have imploded or something. I have complete confidence that this product works on grubs throughout the growing season. Also, very happy that the bees and other pollinators are spared from a systemic poison and worms are not threatened by harsh chemicals.

I’m really happy knowing this works on grubs even as they begin their transformation into beetles.

Moles begone. Had a terrible infestation of Moles in a northern MI lawn. Castor oil was the answer. So I trundled off to local pharmacy hoping to purchase some. I did, but at a very, very inflated price (food grade).

Regardless of price paid it worked. Have not as yet tried the Baar, Molevict I am writing this revue on but have no doubt it will preform as well as pharmacy brand at a severely reduced cost. Didn’t they use Castor oil as a lubricant for model aircraft engines? Everyone stay safe.

I am trying to use it to avoid moles in my yard but I cant really tell that its working. I will keep trying along with traps. Moles are really bad this year! I would rather do something more natural like this but I cant really see that it will work for a full yard.

I dont know whether to recommend this product or not. I still have moles. Maybe theyll go away eventually.

I’ve been battling moles ever since I tried to redo my lawn. For at least three years I’ve tried trapping to avoid using poison. I have three small dogs and was concerned about exposure. I purchased Molex because it appeared to be safer than most and still effective.

I made three applications with no results. However, I knew that I was not finding their deep tunnels. They finally did enough damage to my lawn that I could track them, and I finally found two tunnels approaching 12 inches deep.

I placed the Molex into the tunnel and pull the sod back over covering it with a small stone. I had two small mounds over the next 48 hours. Since that time there has not been any activity whatsoever.

It has now been about two weeks since I last saw any sign of moles in my yard.

It was easy to use – the problem is the theory of the product is to make the mole dislike his tunnel, and move elsewhere. If you have a big lawn area, like I do, that just means he makes a bunch more holes in other areas of the lawn, so he can have new tunnels! Nope, I’d say it is not getting rid of the mole, and now I have several new mounds where he’s dug up the lawn!.

I have tried three different types of traps over a period of six weeks. The ground moles just went around them. My lawn was being destroyed by them. The local garden center suggested this product and it seems to work over time.

Must wear gloves so you do not get the human sent on the pellets and always READ the directions.

I used these nematodes several years ago both in my yard and at my garden which is not close to my house. Until this year –we didn’t have hardly any Japanese beetles,mosquitoes,or borers in my iris ! It was amazing.

This year I didn’t buy any and I wish I had—this year fleas, beetles, mosquitoes and the borers were horrible. These work more than I would have believed possible! If you have any of these problems –use them as instructed and you will be much happier,.

Tried everything else and don’t know if it worked but after putting it in the trail they haven’t been back.

Have not used it yet so review is based on similar product purchased in the past.

hate to say this but I did have a bad experience with this product mainly for two reasons BC I have kids and BC I have a ton of squirrels and rabbits running around in the field next door. so because the bag was so enormously large I left It in the box and had to set it on my porch BC I didn’t want my child to put her hands in the insect killer bag.

well then the squirrels got in the box with the bag inside that night and I hope nothing happened to them. had the bag been reasonably sized I would have been able to store it in my laundry shelf. I just have to say that coming from a mothers perspective, how can we protect our children from a ginormous bag of IK if we don’t put it on the porch.

and then what about the animals you don’t want to kill getting into it for some reason. so my only issue is the bags should be smaller otherwise the products would get five stars. so sorry for this review but I had to complete my campaign.

We have been having terrible problems with ants and spiders in the yard and the lawn treatment specialists that were treating the lawn weren’t making a dent in the insect population so we stopped using their services.

This #VoxBox arrived just in time!! I immediately sprinkled the contents all over the lawn and kind of forgot about it. A few weeks later I went to plant veggies and noticed that there were no spiders around the garden – not a ONE.

They’re usually running all over the lawns and garden. The ant population has decreased significantly though I think it will take multiple treatments to really evict them from the lawn. Great item that actually helps!.

I received Amdro Quick Kill 32oz. Outdoor insect killer while I was out of town for a few weeks. When I got home I was excited to see it had been delivered but we were going through a daily wet weather/scattered thunderstorms situation so I was reluctant to use because the directions state “Do not make applications during rain”.

I really was hoping to find a solution to my problem and have tried many products. Finally it became consistently sunny so I followed the directions specifically as there are many depending on what insects you have a problem with.

Mine is mostly carpenter ants!! They are in my yard, on my decks, patios, sidewalks, steps, trees, flower beds and I’m sure they’re eating my home!  I like that it’s a concentrate so you can use the various dilutions for the variety of different insects.

Unfortunately carpenter ants aren’t my only insects. It claims to “works in minutes”, “lasts up to 3 months” “kills over 500 insects” and “guaranteed to work”. I mixed it in my backpack sprayer and sprayed all around my home and other places mentioned above.

So far I’m seeing less and less of the carpenter ants on my deck, which is where I sit a lot! I’m very optimistic that I may have finally found the best product I’ve ever tried for these very destructive pest!!!.
