Quality fan! Do yourself a favor and buy this fan the other fans like it don’t even come close to the quality ofthis fan! Thing is solid, very good quality I bet you could throw it off a mountian and the thing would still work lol!.

This thing moves some serious air, no complaints. No vibration or weird humming like some of the cheap in line fans. It is loud without filter or muffler on it, but what fan isn’t. Great buy, great product.

Quality unit and has no issue moving air as promised. It’s noise level is as expected, but can be reduced by adding a length of duct on the inlet.

I was impressed with this fan and it is definitely needed due to these 95 degree continuously temperatures. It’s so hot it doesn’t feel like your ac is on, but with this fan, it helps and makes the room feel bearable now.

I had a regular fan and you can instantly feel the difference between my old fan and the vornado fan. I haven’t plugged the old fan back up since I got the vornado. I actually want to get another one for my other room.

This fan is small but mighty! We have two bedrooms that don’t get the same AC that the rest of the house does, and can be stuffy at night. We’ve thought about doing ceiling fans but just haven’t gotten around to it.

Bought my first one Vornado at Sam’s in Texas. Hold on while I count how many we are currently using. There’s a Vornado pretty much in each room of the house 7 total. These 3 speed fans move A-LOT of air.

They work great keeping the air stirred up. The blade and vent shapes provide a swirled expanding blast of air. We really do like them. We also find them easy to take apart for cleaning. The front cover has 3 “tabs” that help hold it in place.

With the front cover off you can pull the blade off the motor shaft without tools. I use a couple different brushes and a vacuum to help clean when needed. We run them 24/7 – (not ALL) 7 of them 365 days a year but of the 7 we own, the original 3 are 3 years old and running.

I’d buy these fans again!.

Like Vornado fans. The variable speed ones are the best. The company however , does not offer them (Energy smart/variable speed) in black. Had to settle for this one. It has three speeds. Slowest speed WAY TOO LOUD, and strong.

Sleeping with this fan on at lowest setting? fugeddaboudit. Really hope that variable speed fans will soon be available in black. I can’t wait to swap this one out for a variable speed fan. Would recommend *with caveat* that this fan is noisy, loud, and too strong, even at lowest setting.

This fan is obviously made of good quality materials; it is logically designed; simple to operate; moves a lot of air similar to a ceiling fan; precisely aim-able; not too heavy; and small enough to stow on a standard depth closet shelf.

Cons: it’s slightly louder/larger/heavier/less convenient, than my old Vornado model CR01-0012 type 610, which, by the way, is still working fine after many summers of use.

I workout daily on a rower and although I expect to be miserably hot, I wanted a fan to help with air flow. This fan is small enough that I can pick it up after a workout and easily adjust however I want, so figured I’d give it a try.

First of all, this fan is really cute- it is compact, has a longer cord than expected, powerful, and so easy to use! The base is sturdy, so you can sit this fan anywhere. I have had it sit on my desk, the floor and its super sturdy.

The fan has 6 different controls- high, medium and low going straight forward and a high medium low oscillating. The most impressive thing with this small fan is the power! This fan blows harder than other fans I have had that are much larger! The blow power here is so impressive and I love that it doesn’t take up much room at all.

In fact, I easily roll the cord up and place in a cabinet when I’m not using it- genius!.

Overall I like the 623DC fairly well. I do really like the fan for low to medium high speeds. The variable speed knob on the back of the fan is very nice and offers what I’d consider to be true infinitely variable speed from extremely slow to high speeds.

So you should always be able to get exactly the amount of air movement you want. It is very quite at low and medium speed and I do not hear any squealing or odd dc adapter sounds from the power adapter or fan.

The fan looks and feels like a good quality built product that I hope will last. I’m maybe a little disappointed with the power adapter DC cable. It’s feels pretty thin and cheap, and I hope the wires in that little cable don’t cause problems or fail.

The rest of the fan seems pretty good quality. But I could see this being the item that prevents this fan from lasting 20 years like the older Vornado fan from a couple decades ago would. At higher speeds when you really want a lot of air flow, the fan makes more wind noise than I might have expected from a 170 dollar fan.

I guess I’d hoped Vornado might have done a little more engineering to help their fans move more air with less turbulent wind noise at high speed/volume. It’s not moving near as much air as a furnace blower, but I’ve had furnace blower squirrel cage fans that I use in my shop and move a LOT more air, that aren’t as turbulent/windy sounding as this DC623 on full speed.

The primary reason I bought this is I’m counting on it last for at least a decade (the 10 year warranty) and I like that it’s made/assembled locally to me in Kansas with some components built by industries in my home town.

We were looking for a quiet fan for nighttime use. We had been using a tower fan, but after one season, the DC motor of another brand fan began to make minor, but annoying noise that was not resolved with lubrication of the motor.

The 623DC fan is a very quiet alternative to a tower. Although it lacks the impact of a tower, with careful aiming, we are finding it provides the needed air circulation. We were able to simplify operation using a smart plug with a voice assistant so we can turn the fan on without resetting the fan speed.

Though the footprint of the fan is a little larger, having the added height of the stand for directing the air is helpful and the fan is very stable unlike the tower it replaced. Although a tower fan was preferable, we’d still recommend this alternative based on reading about tower fans at the Wirecutter website since it is likely to be more reliable for providing quiet cooling.

The ten year warranty also inspires confidence as well as the quality customer service mentioned by others.

We already own four other Vornado fans, the oldest one being over 30 years old and still running. We needed a fan to run when we have a power outage but are waiting to see if we need to start up the generator or not.

Many such outages last 5 hours or less, but in summer in NC, that can be brutal. We have a couple of Ryobi invertors that take Ryobi tool batteries and convert the stored power to AC. This Smart Energy fan is so efficient that with a standard tool battery (4Ah), it will run on the highest setting (very powerful!) for 1.

5hrs, and on the middle setting for almost 10 hours. Even on a half-size battery (1. 5Ah), it will run almost 3 hours on the middle setting. Both are excellent runtimes and help bridge the power-out gap until we know for sure whether it is time to pull out the old portable generator.

This fan is quiet, and even though it is not large, it sends a LOT of wind a long distance. Vornado fans are the best!.

I would love to give this item 5 stars but I can not. This item was very well packed. You could not tell who it was from. It came in an unmarked box. The system works very well but the instructions suck.

In my tent I can not hang it from the top. Not supported, so I had to figure out a way to run the fan safely from the bottom of the tent in a way not to interfere with any thing. Yes I would tell others to buy with this product even if it could of came with 2 extra safety rings for the vent.

Have had no issues so far. Runs very quiet once you mount it down to something sturdy and solid. Will be looking to make purchases again in the near future. Very satisfied with everything from speed/care of shipment to the product itself.

Great fan and carbon filter. The fan runs smooth and quiet. Filter works great can’t smell anything. Packaged well. And sent the good rachet straps.

Why spend an arm and a leg on in line fans for your grow tents?? I bought this in the 6 inch model and run it out of the top vent in my 5×5 Vivosun tent!! Sitting it on top of the roof and running a couple feet of Vivosun ducting into the roof vent and off to the window! Also run a few feet of ducting in the floor vent of the tent for intake and your done my friend! The six inch is enough to suck in the walls a good 3 to 4 inches!!! Ample air movement for the 5×5 tent!.

I needed a fan to force air into the back of my woodstove, I fairly happy with the quality of the fan housing. The motor looked like it was fair quality. The fan blade was made out of pressed metal but unfortunately it was attached to the motor arbor with cheap plastic.

I was concerned about it melting if the stove gets too hot, it would be better if it were attached with metal. Also it was described as quiet and may be if enclosed in a continuous duct but for my application it is exposed and pretty loud.

It is billed as a quiet operating fan but I found it objectionally noisy. I have friends in the right places though and we designed a better blade and printed it on a 3D printer. I also added a speed control.

(light dimmer switch) At full speed it went from 75db to 58db and seemed to blow about the same amount of air.

I rescue & have multiple BIG dogs. Summer in a Miami FL is brutal. I have these in the garage, beneath the pool overhang, and beneath 3 dog shelters I had built in the yard with concrete floors & roofs.

I run 50 or 100 ft outdoor extension cords to a fan on each dog pad and they plant themselves right in front of the fans on hot summer days. They’re sturdy & stay upright on their own unlike most fans not built with the wide base these have.

When they get filthy from dust & humidity I hose down (unplugged) & they’re fine. The 3 in the yard I place a heavy concrete block at the base on the sloped feet behind fan to prevent a dog accidentally tipping one over from getting so near to keep cool.

If they tip they’re plastic no harm done. These things last YEARS too. Between plastic wading pools and fans my kids stay pretty happy when outdoors on hot days. Can’t say enough good about this particular fan’s design, longevity and air flow strength.

I own this very fan, and it has been wonderful. Full power, low to high; easy to adjust speed, and it has a timer if needed for hour control. Also, it tilts up and down. The cord is detachable as well.

Quiet on low, but makes enough relaxing noise while on medium and high, for those who love the noise of a box fan to sleep, but smoother noise; not a rackety noise. Love it better than a traditional box fan.

I was looking for a fan that was quiet, powerful, and energy efficient for a reasonable price. Three out of four isn’t bad. The fan is definitely smaller than one would expect. Even with knowing the measurements ahead of time, I was a bit surprised by how small this is.

For the size, it does a great job of moving the air, but you feel it only if you’re in the direct path, not, as the advertising suggests, anywhere in the room. If it weren’t for the ten-year warranty—most Vornado fans have a five-year warranty, and they used to have lifetime warranties—I would never have spent so much on a small plastic fan, even with the Vornado name behind it.

It’s rather overpriced. Would I buy it again? Maybe. Ask me in ten years.

I just can’t say enough great things about this fan. I had a similar Vornado for about 15 years and this is an incredible replacement for it. The variable speed control is a huge improvement over the old 3-speed model, and otherwise it feels just as solidly built.

The only drawback here: I kind of wish Vornado had figured out some way to incorporate the power supply into the fan itself, versus putting it in a clunky external power brick. And failing that, the power brick and cord could definitely use a little aesthetic attention — perhaps woven fabric cord for the DC cord instead of stiff plastic — and the power supply for a white fan probably should be white as well.

None of the product photos on this site show the power supply, which is a tipoff that maybe the manufacturer doesn’t consider it very attractive either 🙂 Still, this is the ONLY negative about this fan as far as I’m concerned.

It’s a solidly-built appliance I’m sure will perform well for years to come. It’s quiet and efficient, and the DC motor and switch are a big upgrade.

TL;DR Ultra efficient (really, truly, stupidly efficient) Superbly Manufactured Quiet, actually noiseless at low speed Box fan power without the bulkiness I am shocked at how passionately I am able to feel about a fan, but Vornado did it right.

I bought this because my previous Vornado is still kicking after years of regular use, and I wanted the single most efficient fan I could find. The only reason you drop this much money on a fan is if you seriously need some efficiency and quality, and this has it in spades.

I live in a solar house, and I could tell an immediate and sizable difference in power consumption the day that I swapped it out. Despite it being tiny it easily replaces much larger fans, and indeed is on par with any box fan I’ve used except for industrial fans.

To be honest I didn’t believe in the “whole room circulation” bit, but it actually works (at low-medium speeds for a bedroom, medium-high+ for a vaulted celing livingroom) which I am pretty sure is just black magic.

The sound quality is also remarkable, I have never been much bothered by fan noise, but this thing is like a panther in pajamas. On the lower mode I sleep with I have forgotten to turn it off many times because it makes zero sound.

You get some noise at about 20%+ and while it is definitely blowing at 100% power, it’s not as bad as some fans at medium. Though at first I was concerned about the size, it moves more than enough air, and it’s actually nice to be able to put it on the floor, on a small elevated table, or in a window.

It is also perfect in an adult sized blanket fort. So there you have it. Will most people want to buy a $100ish fan? No. But if you want an efficient, quiet fan that your grandkids can leave in their wills then you have found the one.

I’ve got a couple Vornado brand space heaters which I love, so I wanted to go with a trusted brand while searching for a fan to help circulate the air in my small studio-esque style apartment. I was really interested in seeing how it does since it claims to move air 70 feet and circulate it throughout the room.

My space is sort of a strange shape, but I figured it would be worth a shot. If anything I could set it beside my AC unit and blow the cold air down into the further parts of the room. After using it for about a week in the dreaded heat I can safely say I love this little thing.

It’s impressively powerful for its small size. I can actually feel the breeze from a good several yards away from where I set it when it’s on full blast. It is pretty noisy on its maximum setting, and when it’s running alongside the AC it’s even louder.

That might be a deal breaker for some people, but it’s something I can live with seeing as I’ll likely have it placed at a distance anyway. So yeah, I’m happy with my excellent little new fan. To summarize briefly – Pros: Powerful, small, excellent warranty and brand, nice length power cord, (claims to be simple to clean although I have not had the need to do that yet myself) Cons: Very loud.

Highly recommend! This fan puts all other fans to shame. Say goodbye to pathetic little breezes. It’s small, but it really packs a punch. It’s so powerful, it’ll blast the Texas sweat right off your skin.

BUY IT. Works great even in large spaces.

Have always loved this fan. Old one like it in black finally broke after 15 years of keeping me cool during the summer nights. Glad this style is still around and hope it lasts as long as my first one.

Very light white noise which makes it easy to sleep with.

I purchased this a few months ago and it has already crapped out. It freezes on every setting and automatically stops working. This product seemed like an excellent choice with the remote, man speed settings and steadiness of the base and parts.

Sadly this seems like a common problem from this fan and not worth the money for this problem. No observed resolution from the manufacturer online for this commonly seen issue. I do not recommend this product.

So close to being a very nice fan, but the fan beeps loudly and shuts of unpredictably. Makes it impossible to use during bedtime in particular. It appears that the feature that shuts it off when someone touches the fan gets randomly triggered.

There must be a fix given that so many people giving positive reviews, but the fan’s advertised customer service has been non responsive. Save your money and get a different fan!.

I have had this fan for a few days now and glad I do! It’s amazing. The best feature is that it has sensory auto shut if you touch the head while it’s running so childproof. Also it’s steel so it’s quite sturdy.

Lastly, it’s very quiet; even the highest setting is very silent.
