20 Best Ground Meat For Burgers (2023 Updated)

This is the best elk burger my husband and I have ever had. It is the right consistency, contains nothing but meat, and the packages are very easy to thaw out in a bowl of hot water, because they don’t leak.

Whether you are making patties or spaghetti or tostadas, this is the perfect ingredient. It is very important to us that the animals we eat are humanely treated. After extensive questioning of the ranchers, I am very satisfied that the elk who sacrificed their lives for us are treated very well and never suffer.

We made a rage with this meat, basically added a bunch of spices, chopped garlic, chopped onion, homemade marinara sauce and did a side of pasta. It came out excellent! My family liked it, and it was a nice change from eating beef.

Will continue buying from here.

This ground elk meat made delicious burgers! The meat came in well packaged 1 lb increments that were frozen solid with the dry ice packs. I am confident that I can order in the middle of summer in south Louisiana with no issues, as the thick styrofoam package is well insulated and the dry ice packs keep the packages very cold! Excellent job!.

I found the other low ratings and descriptions of the product to be in line with my own experience. I’d like to add that I taste zero seasoning in these “seasoned” “ground beef” discs. I tried cooking these pucks at least three different ways and they tasted no bueno time after time.

I even tried putting my own seasonings and sauces onto these coasters, yet they always seemed to REPEL anything I added! What the heck? Also, why do these become oblong shaped after cooking? Not a big deal compared to the lack of taste, but still weird.

don’t waste your money or time. No clue what these things are made from. there’s No Way it’s n beef. Indistinguishable. very odd tasteless super greasy nightmare. someone needs to investigate these burgers for falsifying ingredients.

I bought these for moms 78th Birthday party. There was a lot of no shows, so I had at least half the box left over and thawed. When I got home I decided to fry it up then freeze it cooked. I kinda crumbled it up and let me tell you I’ve never ever seen hamburger like this.

I was literally so grossed out I end up throwing it all away and vowed to never buy them again. I’d prefer to pay the extra for a better quality. I love most products I get from Sam’s club but this is not one of them.

The steak burger patties were part of a custom selected gift box of several organic prairie items all which were very well received. The packaging was excellent. The quality of every item is excellent.

The steak burger patties are of tremendous flavor and so easy to prepare as a burger or even use in a quick main meal as in a beef stroganoff, just wonderful, will definitely like to get again.

I ordered 24 patties and they arrived in 4 small boxes with all 12 patties inside each box which hamburger is individually vacuum packed. My first impression is wow, this would be so easy to grab for a camping trip.

And it is perfect for me as I usually only cook for one. I will use these not just for burgers but as an addition to ground pork for meat loaf or balls, add a patty crumbled into various stove top dishes, spaghetti sauces, etc.

The meat looks fantastic & although have not eaten one from this shipment, I have enjoyed Organic Prairie’s ground beef from the local grocer.

Delicious flavor, but last year there was an extended time where the patties were obviously thawed and refrozen before shipping to me. They claim it was an isolated incident that affected only me. Hard to believe because it happened several times.

They seemed to have solved the problem, so that’s good.

Im not sure if it’s because once you open these, on their own, no offense, it tastes like the smell of certain kinds of canned animal food (don’t come for me!). I realize that smells and tastes are subjective, and this could just be me and MY opinion.

Maybe this is what raw burger meat smells like?? But yeah, I am sad I don’t like these as much as I should. And, it could be that the initial experience with them is what makes me feel like I need to flavor them up? So, I do end up adding the powders of cumin, chili, smoked paprika, garlic, onion, and a bit of an acid like apple cider vinegar.

Then, it ends up tasting great + I get the protein. I do actually, for each patty, make one patty into two just bc I want to be at least semi healthy, and that does end up being filling enough. Finally, I love that these are soy free!!.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis is the only plant-based burger I’ve tried (and I’ve tried at least a dozen brands) that is NOT MUSHY! It’s also juicy and has that satisfying mouth-full chewiness that real burgers have, which is close to a miracle for a vegetarian or vegan burger.

I also like that it’s not composed of soy protein isolates and other genetically engineered rubbish, it’s mostly pea protein and other vegetable ingredients such as beets, which contribute to the juiciness.

It’s also not full of grains. I think the juiciness comes from the beet components. Really the closest thing to a real burger you can get. I’ve also read good things about kelp-based burgers but they’re so expensive plus they’re not sold locally, so I would love it if Wild Fork started to carry those as well.

They are also very filling but not heavy on the gut. They appear to be made mostly of pea protein, a little rice protein and potato starch among other oils and fruit extracts. Most veggie burgers or vegan products in general just taste like they’re healthy.

These burgers, however, are actually appealing. My kids even like them and I can barely get them to like anything.

I think this is a very good idea for an emergency stash, and hoping it tastes good, too, when the time comes. Meat is one of those things that is harder to keep in a long term shortage situation. I can’t review the product itself, since I haven’t tried it yet.

I certainly like the idea of it. And it will give me a little added peace of mind knowing I have it, should the SHTF (even worse than it already has). In conjunction with other types of longterm storage foods.

Given all that is ongoing in the world, and the uncertainty of the future supply chains, this is a great value. A 25 year life cycle for canned food is exceptional. Just try to find canned meat after a major crisis event, e.

g. , another Russian invasion, a late winter blizzard, or a big hurricane on the East or Gulf Coast. The average grocery store has less than a week’s stock on-hand, and if the roads or rail traffic is disrupted, supplies disappear very quickly.

Buy a case or two or three of meat, and ensure your family has healthy protein in their diet if something bad happens.

Hard to find Hamburger, so I was really excited when SF started carrying this. We have only sampled one can of Pork, saving all others for future needs. But, I am sure it will be just as good. Good value.

I have started eating bison for the health benefits. The ground bison is so versatile. I have made meatloaf, sloppy joes and vegetable bison soup. The taste is great. You can certainly tell that the meat is leaner than even 96% beef, which I had been using.

The bison arrives packaged professionally, quickly and safely within a ice packed cooler. I have also purchased steaks, patties and sausage. I have never been disappointed!.

I have been purchasing bison meat from Nebraska Bison for many years. I usually buy the filet mignon and sometimes the ground meat. I HAVE NEVER BEEN DISSATISFIED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT OR THE TASTE.

Also, I must also mention that the packaging lofthe product is excellent. Iit arrives complete frozen.

I have been cautious about buying meat on line and having it shipped. I first purchased the bison and elk summer sausage and bison hotdogs. The packaged cooler arrived in three days, the dry ice had evaporated but the meat was frozen solid.

The meat was excellent. The second purchase was bison burger and and bison and elk meat sticks. All was of great quality, love the flavor. I will not hesitate to purchase more.

I really like the taste and quality of this meat. I use to buy the store brand. But as of lately, it just has not been up to my standards. I chose this brand because I looked up the company’s website to see how well there farm was.

I am very satisfied with the texture and taste.

Not oily, very light. It tastes very good and I like how I can cook it and there’s not a lot of oil to drain. I actually didn’t drain because there wasn’t any! Small package perfect for just me. when I say it’s light it truly is fresh and easy to cook.

Lacks the smell that others said. I love using it for my chili and tacos.

We have had really good experience with this, and have not got a bad package yet. Some people report gristle and a bad smell. I have not had that once out of 15 packages of the past year. We are a bit particular too.

Maybe it depends on your store location, their source, and how it is handled (kept very cold)? I’d say try it.

I has always ordered your 8 ounce burgers, but decided to try the 4. 5 ounce ones too. The problem I run into is you vacuum seal 2 burgers in one package with a wax liner in between. I wanted to cook one burger but was unable to separate the two burgers in the package.

I even tried to wedge a butter knife in between them and failed. I ended up cooking them frozen to try to release the paper liner. It took quite a while and when the paper released it tore and little parts stuck to the burgers.

Maybe this is because FedEx was a day late delivering my order and the meat had thawed as there was no ice in the shipping carton. It was still cold so I figured everything was OK (like your instructions say) until I tired to eat one after they were refrozen! Sill a great tasting product, just takes some work to eat it!.

I have been getting these on and off for the last couple years. RECENT BOX RECEIVED LAST WEEK IS VERY BAD. LOOKS GREY MEAT???? Box was not tempered with and package was intact. I am cancelling my auto buy.

We cannot afford to throw this money away. yet we are afraid to eat. I would hesitate very much ordering this right now. Maybe this was a “leftover” pandemic two years ago box! Hopefully, QVC will see this and give us refund.

These burgers are wonderful for us that live in apartments! If you have a smokeless grilll they are even better! On the negative side I wish they would stop packaging 2 in each package? Being single having to separate them and repacking the unused burger is a problem that should be fixed! Otherwise these are juicy, well formed and a great meal! There’s very little shrinkage , if , any at all and can be cooked frozen or thawed! Included with every order is a booklet which shows how to cook them , frying, broiling or on the grill.

So I ordered a case of canned hamburger meat a couple weeks ago and I wanted to open a can to test the product prior to ordering another case. I made hamburgers on the BBQ for myself, my wife and my 3 kids WITHOUT telling anyone the burgers were made with canned meat.

EVERYONE loved the burgers. Excellent product. Will buy more.

Although I prefer the other canned beef (roast beef) , I was impressed with this. Who knew you could can hamburger? I made this with pasta and it was very good. It would probably work well in tacos too.

This is a great company and I’m thankful that they are able to provide such good products.

The burgers tasted much better than store bought. I think next time I will order the larger burgers as I did get some shrinkage when grilling. All thing considered, however, I will definitely be ordering more products from Porter Road because the quality was by far superior.

I usually like make my own burgers with some seasonings, but thought I would give the pre-made burgers try. They turned out better than I thought. Great flavor.

We bought these over the summer to try on the grill for a get together to save a little time. I usually make my own patties but time ran out. These patties grilled nice and stayed a decent size. They just didn’t taste the greatest at all.

They were kinda rubbery in texture and just had a weird kind of freezer burned taste to them. No one really liked them that much but we were hungry so we at least all ate one. The next day I didn’t feel that great I had an upset stomach.

I can’t say if it was the burgers for sure. My husband couldn’t stop tasting them if he had a burp come up. So I’ve never bought them again. I just prepare my burgers the night before so I don’t run into that issue anymore.

Pretty good and good sized. Great for burgers on the grill and the meat isn’t like mush lol. I’ve had some brands where the middle is mush. These dont do that, So these are prime meat! Good and a little pricey but I find it worth it for grilling burgers.

Cant have cheap meat for those events! I buy these specifically for grill days.

The patties hold together on the grill. I like these much better than buying the cheap frozen patties, which are probably 35% fat. These are good burgers for a good deal!

Terrible smelling of Schweidsons signature series: the chuck brisket burger potties. Burgers look pretty, fresh and the color is pink. As soon you open the package terrible invasion of smell comes out of burgers, I don’t know what smell is this.

Heavy, strong, stinks, terrible, bite you. But burgers look good and I put on the grill, you see blood, then after grilled taste ok, no strange, but what is this smell about in pink beautiful burger? Why manufacturer doesn’t disclose the exact ingredients? What is in? I ate one, now I am so afraid of it.

I feel that smell in me now, and around me, in the apartment. I do worry about all pictures. Nevermore. Purchased today, no expiration dates on the box, nothing, no dates. Maybe I should not eat it, but tasted fine and looked fine except huge invasion of a strange smell that I can not identify.

Just made these Chuck Brisket burger patties. let’s just say Schweid Sons brought their A- Game to the table! It may seem easy enough to fire up the grill and make some burgers, but there are several things to consider before attempting to create that perfect burger.

It comes down to the quality of meat, temperature, the type of buns, and toppings. As a culinarian, I’ve learned from experience that brisket, short rib, and chuck are a good start to creating the perfect burger.

Moreover, a great burger should have an equal amount of crumble and stability. This has BOTH!! Oh and as a bonus tip, you DON’T have to necessarily use an outdoor grill to get a great tasting burger! You can cook indoors like I do often times, using a cast iron, either in a skillet or grill pan, or on a griddle! I was very pleased with this product.

I don’t like that overpowering the taste of the burger. This was the perfect compromise! SO much flavor packed into this meat. I loved it paired with cheddar and avocado on a light fluffy bun. Even with condiments the meat flavor shone through.

I think we finally found a burger we all like! My 2. 5 year old son even enjoyed a burger all to himself haha. We wanted more! Can’t wait to order some more and try it different ways. We cooked these up on our cast iron skillet with some rosemary sprigs from the garden and fresh garlic cloves.

It is the only ground beef I use. It is good in soups, tacos, meatloaf and anything with ground beef in the ingredients.

As you will see by my photo’s I like ground beef. I share it with my daughter. There are so many uses for ground beef. The orders arrive timely. My last order despite the last of the dry ice was gone the meat was still well frozen.

I now have enough ground beef to last. Probably in the neighborhood of 80 plus pounds. My last order I just received last week was such a good sale I ordered forty pounds. In my regular freezer is 20#.

I bought a small 14. 1 cf but about 6 months ago but it will hold up to 200# of meat.

My wife and I love the Impossible Nuggets. At home, we bake them at 375deg for about 25-30mins, flipping them at the 15min mark to ensure both sides are a golden-brown. We also love that the packages come with 20 nuggets (one time 19, and a handful of times 21) because it makes it easier to split for two people and have an even amount.

Have also had them at AMC where they are fried in canola oil, instead of baked. Have them with mustard, ketchup, sriracha, cholula, steak sauce, or whatever your heart desires! The Impossible Burger is equally as amazing! It goes great as burgers (do a mustard powder) and yellow-mustard while grilling or griddling to get that In N’ Out imitation-style.

It also goes well as patties for breakfast sandwich, in spaghetti sauce, in chili, or anywhere else that one uses ground beef. Feel good about buying this product because animals don’t die for it, it has a bunch of protein, and is environmentally conscious! My only critique is to get it for a cheaper price.

Some grocery stores and Target will offer a “card” price and/or a coupon. It’s not worth it at $8 for a package of nuggets or 3/4 a pound of “meat”, but at 3. 99 or 4. 39, it definitely is. Not to devalue the product, but people need to be price-conscious in these times of 15-20% inflation.

WOW. I barely can even believe it, but as a certified carnivore— I had literally no expectations for any plant-based meat option. My sister actually was the one that initially tried this and told me about it— and she is all about flavor, so I knew she was on to something by suggesting I try this🌶 I made these in a hot cast-iron pan after flattening to about 1/2 inch patties— seasoned with just salt, pepper, and a dash of liquid smoke after flipping.

And then I piled on a little Mayo, green leaf lettuce, raw white onion, 2 slices of sharp cheddar and a tomato slice. I still didn’t think it would be that good— but to my surprise… this is DELICIOUS!🔥 It tastes almost just like ground beef and cooks up about the same as well.

I tried the impossible burger in a small restaurant in Dallas. I am a vegetarian but sometimes do take a bite or two of meat. This was the best impossible burger I have ever tasted. It was on a bun with mustard, ketchup, onion ,and pickle.

It was so soft and hearty that it tasted like a real hamburger. When we came. back home, I looked everywhere for the impossible burger. At that time it was only through a distributor, now you can buy them at HEB and Walmart.

They are also served at several restaurants around town. When my husband bought the impossible burger it was in burger form. He fixed it on the grill and it was delicious, they also have a burger that you can use in chili,stews or casseroles.

Anything you need hamburger in or some kind of meat for taste and filling. HEB was out of the impossible burger that are in the patty form, he bought the impossible burger that you can use in anything.

He made patties out of it and cooked it on the grill, it was also delicious. It you want seasonings on the inside the burger the impossible burger is the way to go, if you just want to put the burger on the grill with salt and pepper then the pre-formed impossible burger is the way to go.

It is very good for you and has a great taste if you need something added to your vegetarian diet or any diet. Meat eaters love the impossible burger too!😀😀😀😀.

My April 2022 purchase of your 85% ground beef is not up to the quality I’ve come to expect from you. It’s more gristley and less flavorful. It tastes more like standard supermarket hamburger. I’m disappointed, and will be looking elsewhere for my next ground beef purchase.

I live 30 miles away from an organic grocery and always had to go to two or three stores to find 100% grass fed Organic Prairie ground beef. I tried ordering from the company and, wow, Ill never shop in brick and mortar for it again.

The order arrived faster than I expected, the meat was frozen solid, and its so nicely in my freezer whenever I want to use it. Im ordering the chicken next. Often, my stores are our of another brand of organic chicken.

We have an extra freezer in our house which has come in handy during the pandemic crisis. I came across this company during my search for online delivery of organic meat. Turkey, same story, delicious but pricey.

We loved the grass fed ground beef. Very little fat. Used to make tacos and lasagna, so when I was browning the meat, I was amazed at how little oil/fat was in the pan when I was finished. Again, very happy with taste and quality, but normally I could buy 2 of this product for around $16 in my local grocery store.

Thank God I didnt also have to pay for shipping.

Ok so, it says minimally processed. It’s beautiful, pink/red but has no smell. Is it real meat? I’ve seen reviews about it being processed and not real. It tasted fine in my meat sauce but it really was odd that it didn’t smell like meat or anything at all.

I used this ground beef in two different ways. First, I made meatballs and served them in tomato sauce over pasta. They came out better than any meatballs I ever made. Second, I made burgers and just seasoned them with garlic, salt, and pepper.

My husband ate a few bites and then said, “This is the best burger that I have ever had. I could eat 15 of them. I hope you are going to buy more of this beef. “.

I’ve bought several high quality products from meat n bone and the ground beef is no exception. It has a noticeably better taste than what I typically buy at the store. I use to make burgers and spaghetti meat sauce.

We tried the 6 oz. but prefer the 8 oz. They are so juicy (not at all greasy). We will always have a box of them in the freezer.

I like the size of these burgers; they fill up a hamburger bun. The meat tastes good.

Very good burgers, probably the best I’ve had but wow those prices are extremely out of sight. Not sure I can keep up with them.
