I was surprised with how much hair came out right away with this. The only other item that’s pulled that much hair, that effortlessly, and that fully, is a horseshoe shaped shedding blade. The benefit of this brush is that the hair remained mostly contained rather than flying off in great gobs of furry explosions.

Better yet, I didn’t slap myself with teeth, thereby taking off layers of skin. Definitely a bonus. It worked fabulously on our dachshund, and my liberally mantled mutt. Both dogs tolerated it well, seemingly enjoying the attention.

I can’t use the horseshoe style blade on the dachshund as it just skips across her pelt, but this brush dug in and got that undercoat out. I was impressed with how much hair I got off of her because I’ve struggled to shed her in the past, and I got a good four fur balls off her.

My rescue cat hated to be brushed. I probably tried a half a dozen products before finding this wonderful brush. I began first brush with gentle, slow brushing and was amazed that Lucky responded with “tentative purrs” and was semi relaxed.

Amazed at how much fur was on the brush. After day 2, I was able to call Lucky to hop up for his daily brushing. Now he calls for ME and his brush. If I can’t accommodate him right away he throws a temper tantrum and sulks.

My dog has medium/long length fur like a golden retriever, but this comb isn’t as good as my old PetZoom brush. It isn’t that gentle. He didn’t like the feeling of the brush at all, especially around his rump, which is where his fur is the longest/most shedding.

I brushed him weekly with the PetZoom, no problem. I bought this brush based on the good reviews but I’m honestly not sure if I want to keep using it unless it’s during the peak of my dog’s shedding season when it’s at its thickest.

Otherwise the quality is very nice.

Great brush to help get rid of tangles and extra winter fur! This brush easily collects and gather loose fur I’m surprised it took me this long to buy it! It also gentle on their skin (still combs through fur with barely any pressure applied).

My cat who hates getting brushed with a silicon brush does not mind being groomed with this slicker brush.

This little tool is the bomb! It’s awesome! My long haired cat goes out sometimes and comes in covered in burrs and twigs, etc. She’s VERY happy to let me brush her and get all of the debris out of her fluff.

She enjoys the brushing and her fur feels so soft and fluffy when I’m done.

I have three outdoor cats, and I wasn’t really concerned about helping them groom until I got my long-haired cat. He has very thick fur, so he gets mats, tangles, and hairballs. I thought I would help him out and got this brush.

I like the wood, eco-friendly handle, but the reason this got 4 stars instead of 5 was the bristles. They are rather sharp and I was nervous about hurting him, so I brushed rather lightly. I know this is to penetrate the undercoat better but I’d rather play it safe.

This didn’t catch as much fur as I thought it would, but it was surprisingly good at catching loose ticks. I pulled THREE off of him in our first brushing session. If they revised this brush to have the penetrating but softer bristles, I would get it.

I ordered this because I liked that the handle was not plastic. Unfortunately the brush has sharp, straight metal bristles. I don’t think our two cats (one long hair and the other one has short hair) will like the feeling.

There may be some cats who will have no issue with the stiffness. There were no good photos so I didn’t know what to expect. I’ve seen some metal bristle brushes slightly bent and softer to the touch.

I gave it two stars because the bamboo handle is nice.

My long hair cat LOVES her new brush. She purrs and purrs while she is being brushed, and we are doing it at least once, if not twice a day. Great at detangling/loosening matted areas and then removing loose/shedding hair to prevent future matting.

Bristles are “pointy” against my skin, so I fully get why others with shorthair cats don’t like it. Would not use on my shorthairs.

I have purchased several cat brushes through the years. My cat, Sam, loves to get his hair brushed. His ears will let me know when he doesn’t like the bristles on the brush I’m using. OMG! He loves this brush so much he doesn’t want me to stop.

He sees me with it and runs and jumps on his table immediately and is ready for me to brush his hair. He even lets me raise his front paws to brush his belly! I have struggled with other brushes. This is the absolute Perfect Brush and I highly recommend it and so does Sam.

Both my long haired fancy cat and his short haired alley cat brother enjoy being brushed with this slicker. Does a great job. But note that now shipping white ones, not the dark brown as shown. White not a good idea for anything pet related.

Chewy should pay more attention and show the actual product they are selling.

It’s a good brush. My dog enjoys grooming time. I use this brush for daily upkeep. I use it right after a de-shedding tool to smooth out her coat. The little nubs on the ends of the metal bristles massage your dog, so it’s a pleasant experience for them.

The bristles don’t pull on knots. The dense brush is great for shine. My only complaint is that it isn’t too easy to clean this brush after grooming; I need a toothpick to really get all the fur out between thr bristles.

Otherwise, great product.

My pup, Onyx, and I liked this brush. It was a nice softer brush for after the bath or a dry shampoo day! My boy would sit so pretty and roll over and show me his chest to brush! I believe Onyx is a reincarnated Diva because he loves being pampered with his CHI products as much as I do! We highly recommend this brush! (Ours was lost during a move).

I went through my fair share of brushes to find one that wouldn’t pull too hard and that he wouldn’t mind getting brushed. This one is great, he doesn’t bite at it and actually seems to enjoy it somewhat or at least tolerate it.

And it does a good job, Charlie is a border collie so he doesn’t shed excessively so this is perfect. I have a different one for getting all the excess fur out. He doesn’t like that one as much but at least that works.

I actually use this brush for my long haired cat and it’s really good at detangling his very fine fur. It’s gentle enough to use on his belly as long as I use a soft touch and it doesn’t irritate his skin.

I also really like the handle of this brush, it’s comfortable to hold and easy to use. It’s a heavy pet brush but is really good quality. I’ve since bought other Chi grooming supplies and have been really happy with all of them.

I have two tiny Yorkies. One has silky hair, but one has very thick fine hair that mats very easily. I was trying to find a wire brush without plastic tips on the end because my old Lil Pals brush has lost a lot of tines.

The plastic tips grab and pull that fine hair. This brush was not the solution. Even with that thick hair, the tines would rake against her skin. I can’t imagine using this on a puppy. It might be fine for some coats.

Maybe Lil Pals will go back to making their original brush without tips.

I have two cats, one who will swiftly slap my hand if I dare try to bring this within arms length of her. The second cat on the other hand LOVES this thing. He’s a very touchy cat and loves to be the center of the world, and this is apparently the most amazing thing, over chin scratches or butt scratches.

He’s rendered almost useless and immobile by the mere sight of this brush and what is about to come. My only beef is that this bad boy loosens sooooo much hair, but doesn’t collect almost any of it, so I need a second brush to gather all the extra hair that’s coming out with.

Just received this today. My kitty loved it. Purred the whole time, rubbed her cheek against it, snuggled up to me so I could brush her some more, etc. Despite already being brushed this morning, she produced a furball the size of a hamster, and she’s not an excessively furry cat.

As a fun bonus, she didn’t try to eat it. Weird, but she’s obsessed with bristly things. She’s tried to eat all three of her other brushes and my Christmas tree.

i have a short haired cat who i brush almost every day, but this brush strangely seems to loosen up even MORE hair kinda like a furminator. cat likes it ok not any more than any other brush. my only complaint is that since the bristles are so big and far apart that it doesnt capture any of the hair, just pulls it out and then it goes flying everywhere like a hair blizzard lol.

A softer brush than i expected. It doesn’t pull their hair out which i was hoping it would help with their continuous shedding. Its soft and they all like it but i don’t see a lot of shedding just mostly a nice massage and softer coats.

Not a bad brush especially for a cat that isnt used to brushing, but not a deshedder or furtracker.

I bought this brush for my cat who loves having her face brushed but often pushes so hard that she irritates her skin. This brush is great for a gentle brushing and she can rub on it as hard as she wants.

It’s perfect for what I wanted but just be aware that it doesn’t pick up or hold any hair like other grooming brushes do.

While I usually use a deshedding tool brush on my two cats, I bought this to go along with a Burts Bee Dander spray for one of my cat’s sensitive spots. She enjoys this brush and willing comes to get groomed.

This is a good product when you need any kind of sprays or medicine brushed into the coat.

It’s good quality. A little bit too big for my cat (but I chose this size) I thought bigger size is better but it becomes too big for some parts of the body.

No cons. It’s a short flexible easy to attach hose.
