20 Best Grill With Sear Burner (2023 Updated)

After doing a bit of research on multiple brands, for me it came down to the features of having a cooking window, the ability to use a rotisserie, having a sear burner, and having ample cooking power.

The grill, unless you pay extra for it, comes disassembled. When we received it, everything was well packed, and assembly literally took just a screwdriver. Complete assembly time took about two hours.

The firebox, for the most part, comes pre-assembled. You will need two people to safely lift the firebox onto the frame during assembly. The grates on this model are stainless steal, but they are very thick.

Personally, I think, making the grates easier to clean, and run through the dishwasher unless most cast iron grates. There is a handy tool grill rack that is also solid heavy guage stainless steel. The doors at the bottom are double sided heavy guage doors.

The gas tank is neatly hidden by the doors. The rotisserie comes with this model, and it has an electric motor. The rotisserie rod again is stainless steal and it holds up to 11 pounds. This model includes a stainless steel smoker box as well so you can put in your choice of wood chips.

I found some apple wood chips and even some cherry chips which I cannot wait to try. The grill itself, especially at this price point, is made of heavy stainless steel and looks very nice. The burners have an eight year warranty.

The knobs on the front of this grill do light up which I think makes it look very cool. There is no light on the inside of the grill top, however, it comes with a small exeterior led light that plugs into a USB port built into the grill.

But honestly, who cooks in the dark after the sun goes down. Even if it had a interior light, the smoke of the food cooking would render it useless. The searing burner really hot very quickly. The next thing you will want to know is how well does it cook? So far, everything cooks very evenly and you have descent control.

From the first light, with the lid closed and the burners on high, it took about ten minutes for a preheat to take it up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. You have plenty of cooking space on this grill, and you have a side shelf to hold your platter so you can throw stuff on.

Everything seemed to cook very evenly and had cook tempearture control. Compared to my old Brinkman grill, which lasted about ten years, it seems like it should last at least as long if kept covered and cleaned as directed.

As far as rust, that is not covered by warranty but it should be easy to keep that from occurring.

Moving to this 6 burner grill from a 2009 3 burner Ducane. This thing is shiny, big, and hot, but compared to the Ducane, it is built of the thinnest and tinniest metal possible – I am doubtful I will get 13 years out of this grill unfortunately.

The doors don’t even line up right even with some gentle ‘adjustment’. Also, the blue-purple knobs are okay when lit up at night but look goofy in daylight. One more flaw – the area right above the propane tank gets mighty hot – first time I used the grill I burned myself when I went to shut off the tank.

That being said, it gets hot fast, looks nice, and was fairly easy to assemble. If you keep it covered and only expect 5-10 years of life, this may yet be a fine choice.

I was in the market for a new grill. I had used the popular brands in the past but discovered Monument Grills from a high rating on Consumer’s Reports. I did some searching and found a great price. I am glad I did.

This grill is wonderful. Setup was very easy and everything went together perfectly. I’ve used it a couple of times now and I am very impressed on how well it works. Definitely the best grill I have ever owned.

Ordered from BBQ Guys and 4 days later grill arrived. First Step, find the directions and all the screws, sort and inventory them. Turns out I had spares, plus a few found in the box that don’t go anywhere.

at least from what I can tell. Assembled by myself with the help of my wife for the 3 person step. I have a 2 shelf utility cart that I used to move the parts from the garage to the deck. Unboxed everything and placed the items around the deck and started following the steps in the assembly book.

No words, just pictures and arrows. I am 63 years old and grew up playing with Lego and can follow an image or diagram with no problems. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the hardest, I rank the assembly a 4.

A 3/8″ nut driver, 3/8″ wrench, rubber mallet and Phillips screwdriver was all the tools I used. Found all the screws in the box with the wheels-Package N020-0213. Steps that I had to pause on – The wheels, I wasn’t sure about taping the plastic block into the corner that the wheel goes into because there was a metal tap in the way for two of the corners.

Just do it, its works fine. The chrome bars had some screws tightened really tight and other loose. Turns out the tightened screws worked better after I broke them free with the wrench, the loose screen won’t screw in without force.

I removed the bar and tighten all screws to about 3/8″ gap then reinstalled and it worked fine. One last hiccup which is funny but caught me off guard, the lights would not turn on. I was looking for the battery but it turns out the lights require electricity.

After reading so many reviews and researching I did not see any reviews or on-line videos show an extension cord. I though the plug on the grill was for the rotisserie. Plugged in, works great. Looks even better at night.

Broke grill in cooking steaks. I know its new, but it’s going to get dirty and need cleaning. But its new and shiny.

I spent a considerable amount of time researching grills (on the internet and in person) before deciding on this one. I am a Mechanical Engineer so go figure. So far it has surpassed all the high expectations that I had set for the search.

Biggest drawback I could find was that this was one of the few grills that is only available on line which could have been a gamble. I resolved that issue by purchasing it through Home Depot. I actually enjoyed assembling and it went together flawlessly but would not recommend assembling if you are not somewhat mechanically inclined.

The heat this grill puts out is remarkable. Still undecided if the searing option is even required since the grill gets hot enough sear. I thought the back lit knobs was a little gimmicky but I have changed my mind now that I have used it.

Wish the grilling area was also lit. Have not figured a use for the USB port yet. The only issue I have had so far and the reason I gave it 4 of 5 stars is that it appears there is a slight design or manufacturing flaw that causes the two side shelves/burners to sag down.

Might not bother some but really bothered me. I resolved the issue by shimming the lower mounting screws on each shelf bringing them back level/parallel to the fire box. This could be a little challenging to a novice to do.

Again otherwise a great grill.

Great quality and bang for the buck. LOVE the side searing unit. I’m making the best steaks and burgers of my life in just minutes. I’d never buy another grill without one. One person mentioned rust.

Buy the optional cover. It’s well worth it. Any needed replacement parts are easy to come by. Two thumbs up.

I bought mine ten years ago. It has held up very well. The three heat elements in the middle have been great for steak. We have used the rotisserie several times for terrific, whole chickens. I like the vertical heat elements as they allow cooking on one side while warming or baking on the other.

A year ago, when a couple heat elements rusted, they were replaced under warranty. I use the smoke section on the right when doing ribs, steak etc as it adds flavor. Even though we use it several times a week and year round and it sits on a deck with salt wind from San Francisco Bay blowing on it, it still looks and works well.

I remember well how it came. The packaging was amazing. Very well thought out so easy to assemble.

Two big issues. 1) The inside bottom is NOT stainless and rusted completely through after about 4 years, so there is no bottom any longer and it is unstable. 2) The design of this unit allows rain water to overfill the grease catching tray.

Imagine that mess on your patio floor. Other than these two issues, it works great. lol. It’s obvious Weber knows about this and an online apology just doesn’t cut it. On a good note, my other $500. 00 Weber Spirit has been great.

So far, love the grill. Everything works well, easy to use, didn’t take long to put together and start using. Dear was a new feature that worked well in our inaugural grilling. The integrated smoker box was well received and heats up quickly to add smoke flavor without a lot of hassle.

There are 3 things I would fix. First, the handle covers are easily moved and/or displaced making the handles not turn or off aesthetically. Second, the power cord for the rotisserie is just too short.

Even if I was closer to my outlet in the old spot for my grill, it would still be too short. Finally, adding information to the page depicting the size of gas fittings and hose would help avoid extra costs when purchasing.

I bought this grill to replace my 14 yr old Napoleon Mirage 605. The Mirage was still working well but was starting to show its age and was in need of a few new parts. We grill at least 3 times a week, all year round and if a grill can put up with that much use, I have no problem getting another from the same manufacturer.

The Rogue XT 525 is a little smaller than the Mirage but it’s perfect for us. I like the IR sizzle zone and find it does a much nicer job at searing the meat than the old grill as it’s much closer to the meat.

I haven’t found any real hot spots so it appears to heat up quite evenly. The first few meals that I made on this grill were either chicken, sausage, or burgers and they turned out very well. Then I finally fired it up for a couple of steaks.

I followed the Napoleon recipe on their website “How to grill the best steaks” and my whole family agreed that it was probably the best steak I’ve ever done. Just do exactly what the recipe says. The only thing that I would possibly change at some point would be the cast iron grate on the side burner.

I’ve never been good at seasoning these grates and keeping them seasoned so I have always replaced them with stainless steel after a few years. The main grates on this grill are stainless and that that was another selling feature for me as well as the 15 yr bumper to bumper warranty.

Assembly was a breeze and it’s basically a one man/woman job until the firebox needs placement due to size and weight. So far after 3 months, I’ve been very happy with this grill and highly recommend it.

we were tired of spending $300 plus for a bbq that only lasts 2 years if your lucky, so we decided to spend the money and get a napoleon. With a 15 year bumper to bumper warranty we figure we are way ahead time will tell how durable it really is.

It went together super easy everything lined up flawlessly, a phillips screwdriver and side cutters are all you need. I imagine the IR side burner is pretty sweet i was unable to use it due to it being too windy, it kept blowing out.

Ive only used the bbq once so far. I like how the thermometer has a smoking and searing range. its a nice looking unit and we hope to get many years of use out of it.

I just bought the natural gas version of this model and was very disappointed to find that the cabinet is missing a centre back panel and the floor has the propane tank cut out, so there is a hole in the floor.

This make no sense for a natural gas unit. Napoleon has responded saying that is just the way it is made. I will now have to find a way to close the areas to prevent any animals climbing into the cabinet.

When paying this much for a BBQ, you wouldn’t expect to be have a discount experience. The fire box and sizzle zone provide a good cooking experience, but the finishing on the unit making it a average unit.

The grill was not assembled at all. It came with a bunch of different pieces. One of the doors attachments was in the opposite spot so it couldn’t be put on the grill. After spending 30 minutes trying to figure out the problem, we had to take more time to call to ask for a replacement door which takes 7 business days to get to you.

There was already a few parts with rust on them. Some pieces were bent and needed to be hammered straight and there were a lot of screws that’s needed to be screwed in in difficult places that were hard to get to, even a mini screw driver.

After 2 of us worked on this for 5 hours, we were ready to scream. I totally regret buying this, isn’t worth the hassle. Haven’t tried to work the grill yet though.

Easy to follow instruction. Had to bend 2 flanges back to 90 degrees as they came bent in the box. Hopefully this won’t impact the long-term durability. This BBQ has only been used for a couple of weeks but seems fine so far.

The grilling surface appers reasonably evenly heated. I have not tried the searing burner yet. The other burners get nice and hot. Not sure how much to expect from a $200 BBQ. Normally you get what you pay for but my last $500 BBQ was crap so this one seemeed worth a shot.

Time will tell.

Ordered this last Friday & it arrived yesterday (Tuesday). Like most “some assembly required” items, it is extremely important to follow the instructions. Do not attempt to wing it because you will probably have to undo & start over.

Instructions are quite clear & assembly was straight forward. At $198 & tax & S&H, it’s a steal. Nice looking unit. Grills are cast and comes with a smoker box. Anything similar we have seen are well over twice the cost.

We are really loving this bbq. It was definitely worth the $$$. It heats evenly (which as most know is no small feat when bbq’ing!) and doesn’t burn our food although a higher burn point will give you the char most enjoy.

One word of warning, the burners are really hot. Even at half strength they can easily overcook food in a very short amount of time. It’s a great looking barbecue!.

Rogue Phantom I mean just look at it! My first Napoleon and hope to get many years out of it. The phantom matte black finish is so awesome looking with the white back lit knobs. Can’t wait to try out the infrared burner with some steaks.

Overall, I’m happy with my new grille, but I’m knocking a star off because some things could be better. 1) I do think it’s silly and cheap that a grille at this price point for natural gas still has a cut out at the bottom for a propane tank.

You’re just asking for a small animal to smell the grease and crawl up there. Can keep the same base part, but should provide natural gas models with some kind of insert of something to cover this giant hole in the bottom.

If you don’t want to include it then create an accessory for a reasonable price and I think a lot of people would buy it. 2) I was disappointed to find that the flag ship phantom model doesn’t have the bottle opener shown in the assembly instructions.

Minor gripe, but just doesn’t make sense to take features away at this price point. 3) I find that the main stainless steel grates slide around just a little bit too much, would like them to be a bit more secure, tighter fitting.

These are relatively minor things, and again overall am happy and would buy again. The Phantom is a great special edition.

I used to own a Ducane which had a great back burner and rotisserie for grilling chicken. However, Ducane is no longer sold. I purchased this Napolean Rogue product over other brands because it has the rear burner.

However, I was disappointed when using the rotisserie and some of the attachments. The rotisserie does not sit high enough for the basket attachments or when grilling a chicken. The grill grates must be removed first in order to keep basket or chicken from hitting the top of the grill grates – annoying.

I normally like to put a pan under the chicken with some potatoes and vegetables, however there is no room for the chicken to rotate fully. Spent good money for the grill and several accessories. Would have chosen a different model if I would have known the rotisserie issues before hand.

Not happy with whoever designed this model.

Sadly I would not recommend this grill. There are a lot reasons why this grill is subpart to other models. My personally story buying this model was that I was going to buy this model. I had ordere the Napoleon LEX 485 LEX485RSIBNSS-A after weeks of researching about grills.

The 485 had everything I wanted including a rotisserie placed exactly where rotisseries burners should be. I placed my order for that grill but days after the order I received an email saying the inventory in the website was wrong and that they were sold out.

So was pressured in a way to buy this model because it was late for my plans and I needed the grill. Just do not buy this model. The rotisserie burner is a small strip located very low. In addition, you will be paying more and it doesn’t even have the ice bucket like the 485.

Mind you this one will cost you a lot more. Moral of the story, BBAGUYS if you do not have an item in inventory, do not have it for sale in your website. Now I am stuck with this grill that I hate. I really hate it!.

Difficult to assemble. Nice working though. Looks great in stainless.

Lots of things on paper to like about this. Looks nice. Cool see through lid. LED buttons. Problem is, the quality control on the parts that matter is non existent. Had to replace the entire fire box because the original one was garbage.

The ignitor wires became singed because there were gaps in the firebox where there shouldn’t have been gaps. One of the knobs somehow melted onto the spindle that holds it in place. Sent a second firebox, just as bad quality control issues.

The welding was atrocious. Third one had similar issues, so I just gave up on this piece of junk. Constant flare ups no matter how well I cleaned this. Drip tray is a piece of crap. By the looks of it the price has also climbed up by a couple hundred in the last 2 years.

I wouldn’t recommend unless you just want something flashy.

We have had a Monument grill for four years now and are very pleased. For starters, it cost about a third of a comparable Weber, and has all the same features. Temperature control is easy with the built in thermometer.

The steak searing burner does a great job. The grills are easy to clean and the igniter still works perfectly. The burners show no sign of corrosion. The glass panel is a nice idea but in practice it gets steamed up most of the time.

It has been a reliable grill and I do not hesitate to recommend it.

Shopped forever to replace our 17 year old Permasteel grill. Stumbled across this on Amazon – best thing to ever happen! This is the best bang for the buck you’ll find. Comparable grills with these features are easily 3 times the price.

And it cooks PERFECTLY. Holds even temp, no flare ups, lights every time. Been using it at least 3 times a week for the last month. LOVE this grill!.

Showed up in pretty good shape. only had one dent from the inside out (I thought that was odd) on the back of the lid. Assembly was a bit of a pain. Directions are pretty good for the most part. I can’t speak to the durability of the outer appearance but it is a very nice looking grill when it is new.

Everything worked great after completing assembly. Seems to cook a little hotter towards the back, which is ideal in my opinion. Have only tried the sear burner once, it’s going to take some practice but it works good, nice feature.

Overall, I’m very pleased with this grill so far.

I bought this grill because it was the only affordable Natural Gas grill i could find. It was pretty easy to put together and to convert to Natural Gas. At first i couldnt find the Natural Gas orifices in the packaging however upon doing some reading i realized all you have to do is unscrew the pre-installed propane orifices and what is left is Natural Gas orifices so no need to have a separate set, very clever and i like that.

I already had the Natural Gas hose so i didnt have to buy the conversion kit. The grill gets really hot about 600-700 degrees cooks everything very well. No complains. Its not the high end grill but it gets the job done every time on budget!.

Big grill, a whole lot of pieces, Plan on spending several hours putting together. this is mostly a painted silver grill with about 15 percent being stainless steel. this is not made any better than a two hundred dollar grill, just includes the side sear.

looks nice, works fine. will probably last a year or two like most Walmart grills.

Scroll to end for quick bottom line When we built our home 9 years ago, we had the contractor install a NG outlet on the patio for a future outdoor kitchen. That kitchen never got built. In those 9 years I’ve been through 2 22″ Weber Kettles and a BabyQ.

After dealing with propane bottles, refills, charcoal, the rain, etc. I finally decided to treat myself. I’ve had my G2 S335 for only a couple of weeks now. I opted to order it direct from Weber. The assembly was easy, and the instructions were superb.

I’m confident in saying that this will end up being the best grill I have ever owned. Now I’m mechanically inclined and posses the tools so if you’re not or lack confidence then I would recommend purchasing through a dealer who can assist with the assembly.

REVIEW: The components are well made and “commercial” grade. The steel material and guage are commercial quality. The burner pieces are easily accessible for cleaning and replacement. The NG hose is well long enough, which was very welcome.

(I required one quick trip to the hardware store to purchase a 1/2″ to 3/8″ adapter). The under cabinet is roomy and also welcome to hold all my utensils, mitts, cleaner etc. Two wheels swivel and two wheels are stationary that allow for easy “parallel” type parking.

The side burner is a nice add, although the lowest setting is still high and doesn’t allow for slow simmering. The thermometer appears to be commercial grade quality also and reliable. So far. All of the components are easily accessible for servicing and replacement.

The side trays are very sturdy and roomy enough to hold extra large trays of food. The ignition system is well designed. One 2A battery is required and supplied. The drip pan is EASY to replace and clean THINGS TO CONSIDER: 1.

NG vs LPG. (I’m NG so I NEVER have to worry about bottles again!) 2. 4 burner or 3. If you have a large family and do a lot of volume cooking go with the 4 burner. 3. SMART GRILL OR NOT? After only a couple weeks of use I regret not going Smart.

Since you are spending the money, go Smart. I’m going to retrofit mine and since it can be. 4. FUTURE : I’m going to purchase the rotisserie. 5. The Weber covers are pricey and got bad reviews. I purchased the King Kong, saved some bucks and am pleased with its quality and fit.

Bottom Line This is one of those “How have I ever done without it” purchases.

Really high quality construction and materials. Ease of maintaining the proper cooking temperature across the grilling area such that the food is cooked evenly. I purchased a lower cost grill two years ago and the cooking temperatures were impossible to regulate properly and varied significantly across the grilling area.

The lower cost grill was starting to rust and degrade after only two years of use. I completely cleaned the lower cost grill after each use and it still rusted after just two years. The Weber Genesis II unit that I purchased had been a display unit and had two parts missing as brand new.

The Weber customer service immediately sent replacement parts and my grill is now complete – really impressive customer service. The Weber Genesis II features that I like are the quality construction and materials, the ease of obtaining the proper cooking temperatures especially across the grilling area, and the ease of cleaning up after cooking.

Other features such as the propane tank level, side burner, searing area, and the ease of moving the grill from the under cover parking spot on my patio to out in the open for cooking. The difference is night and day between the lower cost grill and the Weber Genesis II grill.

This is my 4th Weber grill in 34 years (but to their credit one–grill #2 is still in use at my mom’s house–I just gifted it to her when I moved out of state). I am constantly pleased by the quality and customer service offered by Weber.

A few years ago I called to replace my grates as they had rusted out in my central Florida (humid) weather and my weekly use of the grill. Even though the grilles were a few *years* out of warranty (I was calling to order new grill grates) the customer service rep told me “they sill shouldn’t do that” and she sent me two new grill grates–covered.

My Weber grills last me about 11 years of (very) frequent use. I would not even consider another grill. When I go to the in-laws and I am tasked to man their grill it makes me appreciate my Weber even more.

The Weber does not have hot spots. It has a consistent and even temperature. The heavy lid keeps the heat in, etc etc. Yes-the other grill was 1/3 the cost of a Weber but they are replacing theirs every other Father’s Day.

Directions with the grill are very easy to follow. I like that the screws and/or attachments for each step are separately bagged so I know I am using the right screws. I am not facing a mass of 30-40 parts and I have to sort through them to make sure I have the right fittings.

You only need a cross-point screwdriver for assembly (and a razor knife for packing). My *only* request would be that Weber denote on the instructions the size of the wrench used for the 10-12 bolts that require tightening.

They supply a small wrench–but the bolts (especially for the side table supports) are in a tight spot–I used a small ratchet driver to tighten mine up–using that 6″ wrench they supplied would have taken 2-3 minutes per bolt.

VERY securely packed. All the panels are in separate plastic bags to prevent scratches, The fittings are in heat sealed baggies and appropriately marked for each step of assembly. Not really a dig–but–there was so much cardboard and packing with my grill that it filled two of my giant wheeled recycling bins.

Took me two weeks to get rid of the materials–but I suppose that made sure everything was in perfect condition when I got it. Very impressed. My last grill purchase was in June of 2010 (a Genesis II) and I was a concerned that the company had been forced to change with the times and cut corners here-and-there to stay competitive.

They have not at all and they are still put out a top-notch product. Bravo.

The family grills at least 5 times per week. The grill performs magnificently. Never had a side burner on previous grills and would never have a grill without one because of the Weber design. The interior cleaning / burner removal is just fine and way better than the charming grills of the past.

My criticism is in long-term appearance. The cover should be stainless rather than paint. Heavy smoke and grease deposits on the sides and back and will not wash off and makes the grill appear poorly maintained.

I suppose I could trying scouring powders, but eventually, the paint will be ruined and scoured off. The small rack above corrodes away and is not stainless. Poor choice of material.

I received my grill about a month ago, and it really is as advertised in its build quality, great looks and grilling ability. The infrared heat zones are a really smart technology and work easily to sear or char.

The flat black look is classy, and unique. Two things that are I refer to as quirks are as follows. The first is easy enough to get around, but still mildly irritating, and that is the handle gets so hot you will need a towel or glove to open the grill (strange).

now the second issue, I’m trying to find a workaround for (why I’m writing the review), the cooking grids do not fit properly tight enough. Now for grilling it’s not too much of an issue, but during cleaning the rattle around and make a lot of noise, but also make cleaning much harder.

I hope someone can give me a solution.

I have the summit e670 for a week now, the 3rd night I smoked ribs, OMG! I have owned Weber grills for almost 40 years and they always cook great food, but to call this summit a step up would be an understatement, it is far and above any grill I own! I still have and use my 1997 Genesis 6000.

When the Q first came out I bought one and love that little grill. But this summit is by far is the best Weber has ever made, bar none. If there is one thing this grill can’t do I would like hear it.

This is funny. When I came with the Genesis 6000 all those many years ago my wife asked me what I spent, when I told her it was 750 dollars she went off on me big time, I cooked dinner on it and was off the hook.

But when I told her I spent 3549 dollars on this new Summit E 670 all she said was, If it last like the old one you made a good buy. She was the first one to cook on it! If you buy a Weber you are a Weber owner for life.

I’m basing this review on a grill we USED to own, not the new one since I haven’t had the new one long enough to form an opinion. However, it’s essentially the exact same grill we inherited 7 years ago from the owners of our former home, with perhaps a few very minor updates.

I was very pleased with that grill (large surface area, good heat control, relatively easy to clean), and from what I’ve seen so far of the new one I’ll have little to complain about. Assembly was relatively simple and connecting to the natural gas stub on the patio was painless (despite a balky bit of pipe).

All burners fired up the first time and I’m looking forward to putting the grill to work! My only words of caution to others are: – When it’s new the interior is all shiny stainless steel. That won’t last.

– Don’t forget there are batteries involved that will need to be replaced from time to time. – The “flavorizer bars” (the metal bars over the burners) WILL corrode and need to be replaced. – Cleaning the large grease catch pan is a messy business.

I tried lining ours with foil, but the foil just glued itself to the pan making an even bigger mess. And don’t forget to empty out the smaller drip pan. I researched other grills in this size range and I still think this is probably the best bang for the buck.

We cook on our Summit 4 or 5 times a week in the summer, a bit less in winter. Have had it 12 years. There was a lot of rust in the cook box and lid. Weber replaced the cook box and lid for nothing even though my warranty was expired.

Purchased new burners, manifold, flavorizer bars, regulator, infrared burner and various lines. The control box for the infrared burner is too small to easily shape the thermocouple line to the manifold.

It was a lot of work tearing it apart and putting it back together but the results are worth it. Saved nearly $2,000 by re-doing, not replacing. I look forward to 12 more productive years with the redone, like brand new, Summit.

With 4 burners on high it gets to 600 degrees in about 5 minutes. The large cooking area makes indirect/direct cooking a breeze. The wings I cook on it are the best I’ve ever tasted. Smoker box does a good job.
